A world of music at your fingertips

The AVR-X3300W's Wi-Fi lets you access your own digital music library through your home network, and Bluetooth lets you stream anything you like from your phone or tablet. Tune into Internet radio stations from around the world with vTuner, or play custom content with Pandora®, Spotify® Connect, or SiriusXM. This powerful receiver even offers convenient playback of several different high-resolution audio formats through the front-panel USB port or a networked computer. Denon's Compressed Audio Restorer boosts the sound quality of MP3s and other digital music files, so you get the best sound from any music source you choose.

Due to changes implemented by Pandora, this receiver is temporarily unable to connect to the Pandora service. A firmware update to resolve this issue is currently available.

Multi-zone music and video

The AVR-X3300W has outputs for seven speakers, so you can enjoy a 5.2-channel home theater setup in your living room and reassign the rear surround channels to power a pair of speakers in a separate room. Relax to your favorite tunes on the patio while the rest of the family takes in a movie with surround sound in the living room. A second HDMI output lets you watch video from two separate sources in your living room and a second room.

I purchased this to upgrade from the Denon avr-x1100w I previously had. Setup was easy as you can expect from Denon. Depending on the input source fine tuning each sources sound setting can take some time but that can be expected from a receiver with plenty of options to choose from. Upscaling feature is a very nice feature. Main reason I upgraded was for the HDCP compliance and 4k upscaling however compared to my other Denon I am happy I paid a little extra for the other features and extra power compared to one of the lower priced Denons available. Bottom line - I went with Denon because I know exactly what I can expect from them and they delivered again.

Im a Novice trying to become and audiophile. Crutchfield is helping me get there with these amazing deals on some expensive equipment. The Denon AVR-X3300 is a major step up from my pioneer elite vsx101. I have the large standing towers from Klipsch, R28 I believe and felt like the pioneer didn't have enough power to really show them off during movies. From the moment I plugged the Denon in to the setup and getting into one of my 4k Blu Rays I was impressed. The setup literally takes you through every step needed from cutting the wires to calibration. Calibration! That is probably my favorite feature on the Denon is being able to use Audyssey! It tunes the audio coming from the speakers so precise depending on the seating position. So far I'm in love with taking the leap from Pioneer to Denon.

    Pros: Power, Setup, Easy

    Cons: Not so sleek

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The controller croaked on my 12-y.o. Denon AVR-3806. It only has 2 HDMI inputs which I had populated w/ cable box & BluRay. Our son gave me his old AppleTV, so I decided to upgrade. I also have a Pioneer Elite I love & I'd planned to buy another one. I "chatted" w/ Harley & she steered me to Onkyo, which now owns Pioneer, and Denon. I wanted 7.1 w/ at least 100W/ch. I settled on the Denon, in part b/c of the price break, which I enhanced by buying a Scratch & Dent unit after discussing w/ Wolf on Harley's day off. Wherever the scratch or dent is, it's not visible from the front of the unit. After I got everything connected, I tried the BT link to my phone playlist. Totally amazing sound! When powering it up the 2nd day, I bumped wrong button on cable box controller & it switched my Denon to Zone 2 & wrong HDMI out for TV so I had blank TV screen. Crutchfield tech got me back in business, although it was only later I diagnosed the cause.

Pros: Great sound, easy speaker setup w/ Audyssey.

Cons: On my Denon AVR-3806 I could set up individual speaker volume levels. On my new AVRX3300W, I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. Sometimes my back speakers are too loud, especially in action movies, in part b/c they are rather close behind the sofa from which I watch TV. When that happens, I have trouble hearing voices from front & center speakers.

I really like this receiver. I had a Sony str-dn1040, and the difference is night and day. The sound imaging is so much bigger on this AVR, it's like I'm getting full use out of my speakers for the first time, and everything sounds amazing. Setup took a while (8 positions tested with the included mic) but was apparently well worth it, as the sound this thing puts out is just so much fun to listen to. Functionality is great. Happy all around.

Recently sold my house with big home theater. This was the first step in creating a new one. I bought it for the Preamp outs and Crestron integration. I regularly tune large rooms with professional software (SMAART) and DSP but after replacing the old Yamaha that was feeding a small 5.1 klipsh setup I determined I didn't need to worry right now with new speakers or advanced tuning. The automated Audessy setup in the AVR made the system come to life!

Great unit to replace an old Denon 2809. The setup is much improved from the older model. Documentation that ships with the unit is very limited and not particularly useful, but that's the case for a lot of products these days. I got this at the end of the model year for a steep discount and I'm glad I did.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this receiver as a previous year model markdown, so I found it to be a great value for the price! It was also the same year model as my TV, so it had nice feature parity with it so I saw no reason to buy the 2017 year model as I didn't really have a use case for HEOS. I held off on reviewing this AVR until I got the new Apple TV 4K so I could review the 4K HDR passthrough capabilities. I am happy to report that the signal is passing through beautifully to the Sony TV. The ATV4K itself has some "newcomer" issues, but these issues are no fault of this AVR. I recently received the firmware update for this AVR to allow Dolby Vision passthrough, though the particular TV that it is feeding is not DV capable. It is nice to see that Denon kept these 2016 models reasonably up-to-date by through added functionality via firmware! The AVR itself is loaded with features that I find quite useful. The initial setup wizard is excellent and walks through the entire system setup, from speaker connections, calibration, even to input testing. I enjoy the Denon Remote 2016 app that controls the system. I read horrible reviews on it, but to my experience, they are unfounded. The sound quality is excellent in 5.1 channel movies. I especially enjoy the Audyssey functionality for voice boost and sound normalization, which smooths out the dynamic differences in soft and loud scenes, which is a must when the wife and I watch movies after the kids go off to bed. Excellent receiver

Pros: Excellent setup wizard Useful iPhone app Great movie track sound quality Good support through firmware Zone 2 audio functionality has expanded use cases via HDMI input Excellent price/performance ratio with the closeout price

Cons: can't think of any at this point

Product worked fine for roughly a year, although figuring out the zone two speaker output is near impossible. Out the blue, the unit now automatically shuts off four seconds after being turned on. After disconnecting everything from the receiver (and even taking the battery out of the remote) and troubleshooting, the diagnosed cause is a failed amplifier section that has to be taken in for warranty service. My last Denon receiver (AVR 1909) also suffered a premature death. Done with the brand.

The AVR-X3300W replace a Denon AVR-X4000 in my family room since I needed an AVR that can handle 4K. This unit has met my expectations from a Denon AVR. Easy to setup and functioning as expected. Pass through works without issue. Playing passthrough 1080i content through this AVR is very good. Playing 4K content using my OPPO BPD-203 though this unit into my LG 65OLEDC7P is just outstanding. This is my fifth Denon AVR and have not been disappointed at all.

Pros: Denon quality Passthrough works as expected Playing 4K content through this AVR is exceptional.

Cons: Volume a bit lower than my previous Denon AVR-X4000

The Denon AVR-X3300W is a very nice receiver.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced a Onkyo TX-SR806 with this receiver and I have to say that almost everything about it is an improvement. This is all subjective, but it seems the sound is smoother and more detailed. The Audyssey MultEQ XT-32 is a big improvement over the older version. Now for what I don't like. The owner's manual is all but useless. I went through the online manual and downloaded the Remote App. Not impressed. I had to go through the menus and figure things out myself. Some questions I still have no answers for. Like what all can I do with HEOS. I like the handheld remote better than the App. All of these complaints are minor, but I really don't like the fact that the volume changes much too fast when the volume button is held down. I change the volume one increment at a time. I'm hoping an update will correct that. Seems like I made a lot of complaints, but overall this is a great sounding receiver and is very easy to do its basic setup.

    Pros: Great sound Easy setup

Cons: Poor Owner's Manual Remote App need some work Volume changes too fast when using handheld remote.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Replaced 16 year old Sony 935 receiver. This unit improved the sound of my Paradigm monitor 7 speaker system for music and blue ray DVD. I only gave it a four star because it took three calls to Crutchfield to resolve an Arc issue with the receiver switching to tv audio when I turned the Samsung tv back on and shutting the Samsung 450 soundbar off, thus requiring multiple steps to get everything working again. Clint at Crutchfield tech support finally helped me resolve this issue. Denon manual contains a lot of information but it needs to tell you where to find the feature in the menu. It also did not address this issue.

Not being an electronics wiz, I needed to call Denon for installation support. They were very patient and helpful and got my unit connected to the correct jacks for each piece. I then was able to balance the speakers with the Denon supplied sensor and the unit is good. Not as easy to use as my old Denon unit because it uses letters for speaker outputs, ie 5.1 stereo, 7.2 etc. Old unit spelled these choices out on handset. But overall a great choice.

I purchased this unit primarily as replacement for a JVC JX-S777 audio/video switcher. I'm cutting the cable vision cord and going the streaming route with a Roku and an OTA for the basic network channels. The aforementioned audio video switcher has no HDMI in's or outs. This is an excellent unit, switches flawlessly between the new connections, great picture and sound. Just powering front channel speakers at the moment, and it's also going to be the hub for my re-working of my entire home theater audio/video setup (All components are minimum 10-15 years old). Strongly Recommended.

Great receiver! Replaced my old Onkyo receiver, and my Kef surround speakers are 100% improved. The functionality is great: My daughter can turn our entire system (receiever, monitor, and Apple TV) on and off and control the receiver volume from the Apple TV remote . The Audyssey system is great, but it is very finicky about speaker connections. That took me a day or two to sort out, but I did get through it-with the very able help of AJ in Crutchfield tech support. It's worth buying from Crutchfield to have access to such great support. Thanks, Ozy for the recommendation.

This is my third Denon AVR in operation between home and lake house. Great audio performance, features and options for various sound experiences. I use it for movie playback and high resolution music playback. I connect through pre-outs to a Parasound amplifier (275 V.2) to drive the front ELAC Uni-fi towers and drive the rear ELAC Uni-fi UB5 surround speakers with the X3300W and also Martin Logan Motion 12 towers in a separate room with the X3300W. All speakers are 4 ohm so I set the X3300W and 275 V.2 accordingly to match. Denon AVR, Parasound AMP, ELAC speakers, REL sub combine to make an awesome system

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit replaced a Sony home theater receiver that I have now moved to use in the basement family room. The Denon is a lot more flexible in terms of programming options, has more power and has a better overall voice clarity (for videos/movies) then the older Sony. The automated setup for balancing the unit had a number of problems as my sub was not software controlled.

Pros: Many more setting options available to optimize function and performance

Cons: Manual only available as pdf file (no print copy included with receiver).

Phenomenal piece of equipment. Sound reproduction is flawless, clear, and crisp. Bass level is excellent. The two zone system allows you to listen to two different programs in two different locations from two different sources - works like a champ. The video is two zone also, though I have not used this part of the system yet. Replaced a Pioneer VSX-1021-K which I thought was great but this Denon puts it to shame. Great system and I purchased it from Crutchfield at a great price. Can't speak to the 7.2 portion of the system but the 5.1 is superb! I find that Denon remote and on-screen system very simple to use and very comprehensive in controlling this outstanding A/V receiver. At this price point, this system is hard to beat.

Worthy Replacement for old Denon AVR

Jason from Birmingham, AL on 8/3/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit replaced an older Denon AVR-3801 which still operated flawlessly, but, was woefully out of date. The new Denon AVR-X3300W is being used in a 5.x channel system, but, will eventually run 5.x.2 when I add overhead middle speakers for Dolby Atmos in the near future. My needs for this receiver were pretty basic, however, I am finding some of the new features very useful. I needed basic HDMI switching and support for new codecs as well as room correction software. The new receiver was much easier to set up compared to my old AVR. While, I have not pushed the system very hard, I have noticed that the new receiver runs hotter than the old AVR at the same volume level. Both AVRs are/were rated at 105 watts / channel and provided 7 channels of amplification. Sound quality is somewhat improved with the new AVR. I did not perform direct A/B testing, however, with Audessey off, I *think* the sound is almost identical so I am attributing the perceived better sound quality to the Audessey room correction software. For me, the biggest benefit is HDMI switching and Audessey room correction. I do not currently have a 4K display, but, knowing it can handle this for future upgrades is a nice. Having wireless streaming capability with my IOS devices and Pandora is a plus, too, however, I haven't used that feature much, yet. I do not use this AVR for multizone, so I can't comment on this feature. This receiver is much easier for my wife and kids, to use, too.

Pros: Ease of Use Sound Quality Audessey XT32 Feature Set

Cons: Runs warmer than AVR it replaced Only 5.1.2 capable No phono input

I purchased an Onkyo TX-RZ810 and ended up replacing it with this Denon for several reasons. Crutchfield was impressively accommodating with the exchange. The Denon is, so far, superior in just about every way IMO. The most significant difference is in the menus and set up, the Denon is just easier and more logical to use and navigate. The sound separation and processing seems superior to me as well. This unit is hard to beat, particularly at the sale price!

Excellent receiver! I am using it to power the SVS Prime satellite 5.1 system and it sounds fantastic. I was using an older Denon (avr-591) and it worked well but now I am hearing so much more definition with movies and music. The Audyssey multiEQ XT32 is a huge step up from their standard multiEQ. The receiver is nicely balanced and can be very dynamic with both movies and music. I am using the system in a small room so there is more then enough power and headroom for my setup. The only change I made after Audyssey was setting the subwoofer level in the audio menu to 0 to get a little more low end punch and it worked out perfect without effecting the overall balance of the sound. The video quality Is outstanding and much better then last years x4200w that I had tried out and was very disappointed with. I am very impressed with this receiver and hope it last for many years. This is the third Denon I have owned and my favorite one yet.

Pros: Sound quality. Video quality. Easy to use and setup. Makes my SVS 5.1 prime system sound great.

Cons: 2016 remote app is a little glitchy from time to time.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is the third Denon receiver that I have had over a 20 year period. Every one of the previous receivers worked well and were only replaced when new technology came about. So far, the AVR-X3000W has met all of my expectations. I really like the upscaling that this receiver does and that was the primary reason I bought this. I had purchased the NAD T758 thinking that it's modularity would future proof the receiver but that was not entirely accurate (first of all, new modules take forever to be developed, cost in the low hundreds or more, and you most bring the device into a dealer to have the upgrade performed). The 4k upgrade for the NAD only did pass through no upscaling. The set up for the Denon was very straight forward and took all of 15 minutes. The sound quality is very good. I would recommend Denon to anyone who wants a quality AVR.

Pros: * was on sale, saved a nice amount * easy setup * upscales to 4k * quality built * wireless as well as wired Ethernet

So far, so good. Super simple to setup. I thought ARC would be a pain but it asked me a yes/no question about using ARC during setup and talks to & works with my Samsung KS8000 tv just fine. Audyssey XT32 speaker level setup was also very easy. It suggested turning my subwoofer way down but that's your call. Generally, I am pleased with this AVR ... assuming that I like what it is designed to do. Otherwise, I am absolutely amazed at the lack of functionality that this AVR has (and all others on the market). It appears that the home theater market is totally controlled by the recording industry. Basic functionality is thrown aside because of weak efforts to prevent copying ... at least that is my impression. Manufacturers should be able to design and sell products that the consumers want. I don't want or need a Zone 2 unless the zone 2 out could mirrow the main out with additional video resolution control. I want all audio only sources to have an interactive GUI that is presented to the HDMI out (including analog, AM/FM radio and on-line sources). I want sound on my speakers and audio on the HDMI output at the same time.

I also downloaded some high deficiencies music to a flash drive to play throughout the receiver. I must say that I was overly expressed with the sound quality. I highly recommend this product to anybody lookjg to upgrade their receiver.

    Pros: It produces outstanding sound.

Great stereo, upgraded my last Yamaha which we loved. But wanted to get HDMI connections and go to the ATMOS surround. Haven't hook up the ATMOS yet but the stereo is a great improvement from previous 2003 stereo. Sounds are much more defined and fill the room with our existing 5.1 surround system. Voices are clear with great stereo from other speakers. Stereo was easy to get up and running. Hardest part of course was the wiring. Running the set up was a breeze. My only complaint is I wish it came with a printed owners manual. Would make it much easier to review and mess with the setup in front of the TV. Laptops and tablets aren't the same for flipping through to reference and bookmarking for future reference.

Only reason it doesn't get six stars is because Crutchfield doesn't have six stars in its overall rating. For the money I don't know how it can be beaten. Very easy to set up and calibrate. The sound is wonderful and I don't even have a subwoffer yet. Hopefully coming soon. I can't imagine what a receiver costing twice as much could sound like. Surely it can't make the music/movies sound twice as great. No one could hear twice the greatness as this AVR-X3300W. Norm at Crutchfield was a great help.

    HDMI incompatibility with Apple Mac

D from Issaquah, WA on 1/28/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Not Compatible with Mac Mini. I bought this Denon as an upgrade for a 7 year old Yamaha receiver in order to get HDCP 2.2 compatibility. However, during the install process, when I connected a Mac Mini (that's part of my Home Theater system) it would turn black for 1-2 seconds every 6 seconds or so. Called Denon support who concluded that it was an HDMI "incompatiblity" with the Mac and that there was no fix. Also noticed "sparkling" effect with 4k content that was intermittent. Called Crutchfield support and went through similar troubleshooting and ended up returning it. Replaced with another Yamaha (RX-A860) which now works fine.

Pros: Nice on screen interface and setup/calibration process

    Cons: HDMI incompatibility; poor support.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Having upgraded from a circa 1999-2000 Denon, by comparison the new 3300 is much better. The on-screen setup guide, back panel layout and labeling, remote, and general setup is much easier and intuitive. The Audessey setup system dialed in the surround speakers (using all 7 channels in my case) perfectly and it sounds great. The ony downside for me is using the "Zone2" (I use preamp outs to a second amp) is a bit cumbersome. I have not found a way to simultaneously control the volume in both zones, even when "ALL ZONE" is activated. You are continually switching between zone 1 and 2 adjusting the volume. This is a bit of a hassls in my setup as my house is an open floor plan and Zone 1 and 2 are essentially in the same room. A 9 channel system would work better for me, but they are quite a bit more expensive. All in all very happy, nice layout, nice sound, simple to operate.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

You actually get what you pay for here, and that is a good thing. I have been a Denon fan for a long time. This AVR-X3300 is actually replacing an AVR-3300. The non-X version is over 10 years old, and I just could not make it die, until recently. It always sounded great, and worked without fail. Yes, it lacked HDMI and some of the new sound formats, but frankly running the source direct to the Projector never bothered me (still only use the pass-through option) and the new sound formats are minimal improvements over base Dolby Digital 5.1. So how has a decade changed Denon's 3300 level amp? Tons, and none. As with the ancestor, the new X3300 has all the current offerings to far out class the type of theater it is likely to be put in, given its sub-$1000 price. For a 5.1 system you won't need more. For a 7.2.2 system you likely don't have enough room in your theater - seriously, 11 speakers is a LOT of speakers. The sound - my primary concern - is better than my old 3300. The amp section is dead stable up to way high levels (110 db range). [Note, I'm running the main L/R's via outboard amp so very little stress on the X3300 amp, so power is not what I'm describing here, just clarity at all levels.] The HDMI source control has simplified my setup, and I have not noticed any video degradation moving from a direct path (source to projector with no interruption). The surround processing available now is better than the DD of my old 3300, and setup was ez. Audesey works gr

Pros: All the bells, none of the spam-ware. Simple set up. Pure sound. Great for beginners. Line out to power separate amp allows for limitless power upgrades. My unit did have a serious whine over both pre-amp channels that almost had me return the unit, but it went away after a few hours of use. (The mystical "burn in period"? I don't know.) On the whole, more features that almost any theater in this price range could need.

Cons: My decade-plus old AVR-3300 had an aluminum face and knobs. The 2016 AVR-X3300 has a plastic face and knobs. Really detracts from the feeling of precision...but the price was alright. Fair trade. Some features I enjoy are not easy to get to. For example, Direct audio mode is available if I use my old remote. Yet I can't find in the system or the new remote how to trigger this option. Similarly, to get to many of the audio settings you have to go deep into the menu. The App is much better.

    Great sound !

I bought this AVR because my old one didn't meet the new HDMI 2.0 and HDCP standards for my new Samsung SUHD/4K TV. Setting it up and configuring all the different options was not straightforward, even though it has a wizard to help. The first thing that happened after I connected it to my WiFi is that it did a firmware upgrade. Also, I had to make 2 calls to DENON support and was on hold for at least 30 minutes both times before someone answered. That said, now that it is working it's fully integrated with my Comcast and TV remotes, and the sound is amazing through my 5.1 system (it can handle 7.1). Bottom line, be prepared for some installation pain but the end result is truly amazing!!

Bought an AVR-X2300 to replace my ABR-S510BT that bit the dust after less than a year. Then, less than a month after purchasing the 2300, this one went on sale for just a hundred more, so I exchaged them. The Audessy xt32 In this is an upgrade from the 2300. So far so good. Once I get some nicer speakers I'll really be able to hear just how good this AVR-X3300 can sound. Definitely would recommend stepping up to the AVR-X series as they have a 3 year warranty vs the 2 year you get with the AVR-S series.

Pros: Great sound, easy set up, can handle speakers from 8 ohm down to 4 ohms, which the others can't do.

Cons: Wish it had more power, especially for the price, as the competition has more power for the same or less. At this level I would expect 125 watts instead of 105, but I'm assuming it will do more with 6 ohm speakers.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am very happy with the AVR-X3300W. It has excellent sound quality, a lot of nice features, and it's a great value for the money. This is replacing a Denon AVR-791. The AVR-X3300W new and improved features include 105 watts per channel v 90, Audyssey XT32, graphical EQ, digital input for zone 2, wi-fi/wired ethernet, media server/DLNA playback, internet FM radio, Pandora, Sirius/XM, more HDMI inputs, front panel USB/iPod input, extra dedicated buttons on the front panel, 5.1 and zone 2 pre-outs, and probably some other stuff, plus a new for 2016 iOS/Android remote app. Audio is clean with no distortion even at louder than comfortable listening volumes. Audyssey XT32 did an excellent job calibrating the system. Multi EQ features work better than ever and provide a lot of flexibility to adjust the sound for various sources and settings. Zone 2 digital input works as advertised (be sure to set Zone 2 to 'PCM' in General settings). Media Server/DLNA player is very nice, works with the remote app and other DLNA control apps and can replace a PC for playback. Overall a great AVR, especially for the money.

Pros: Excellent sound, lots of nice features, great value for the money. Zone 2 digital playback is a plus. Media Server playback is very nice.

Cons: New for 2016 Android remote app is slick, but doesn't let you play a playlist. You can list the tracks in the playlist, but you have to add them one at a time, which sort of defeats the purpose of a playlist. Called Denon, they are aware of it, said it may be fixed in a future update.

Immersive Surround Sound: The Denon AVR-X3300W AV receiver goes beyond regular surround with the latest immersive surround sound formats - like Dolby Atmos or Dolby Surround and DTS:X or DTS Neural:X.

    • Dolby Atmos: Dolby Atmos surround sound technology dispenses with channel-based coding in favor of more advanced object-based coding, giving the soundtrack designer the ability to precisely place sounds anywhere in the 3-dimensional space. Now you can enjoy this same award-winning technology at home with the AVR-X3300W that lets you connect a 5.1 surround sound speaker system and 2 additional overhead speakers or 2 Dolby Atmos elevation speakers for the ultimate home theater experience.
    • Dolby Surround: Dolby Surround offers an enhanced cinema experience to your 2ch and multichannel movie soundtracks using your existing 5.1ch, 7.1ch, or Dolby Atmos speaker setup. Dolby Surround enhances audio definition by improving the spatial dimension and overall audio definition of movie soundtracks. It does this by using four distinct surround zones that provide greater control over the exact placement of each detail in a movie sound track, so audio can be matched more accurately to the video on screen; this means more depth and greater realism for your movies. As a result, individual sounds are clearer and more distinct. It also improves the surround sound experience across the entire theater by widening the listening "sweet spot".
    • DTS:X: The latest immersive surround sound system, DTS:X features object-based audio coding that lets the soundtrack designer place sonic elements anywhere in the 3D acoustic soundspace, and provides for overhead speakers to deliver a stunning surround sound experience. Along with DTS:X decoding, the AVR-X3300W features DTS-HD Master Audio decoding and other DTS audio technologies.
    • DTS Neural:X: Further, DTS:X incorporates Neural:X, the latest spatial remapping technology from DTS, which provides a fully immersive output for all types of source content; this includes DTS bitstreams and non-encoded (PCM) data. Neural:X delivers a thrilling sense of immersive sound to your speaker layout regardless of the original source format.
Note: DTS:X & DTS Neural:X will require a firmware update.

Audyssey Gold: AVR-X3300W features the Audyssey Gold suite of powerful DSP features; including MultEQ XT32, Sub EQ HT, Dynamic Volume, and Dynamic EQ.

    • MultEQ XT32: Via the supplied measuring microphone, Audyssey MultEQ32 measures all the speakers in your home theater during setup, including the subwoofer, and then generates multiple high precision DSP room acoustic correction filters, which together provide smoothest and most natural tonal balance, regardless of the brand or model of the various speakers. Audyssey MultEQ32 incorporates more than ten thousand individual control points allowing finer details of the room's problems to be captured and corrected. Up to eight listening positions can be measured, configured, and recorded. MultEQ XT32 compensates for both time and frequency characteristics of the listening area based on "Audyssey Setup" measurement results. Selection is done from three types of compensation curves - Reference (default and recommended, L/R Bypass, Flat, and Off).
    • Sub EQ HT: Audyssey Sub EQ HT provides individual DSP tailoring of each subwoofer in a dual subwoofer setup, for deeper bass with improved definition, compared to a single subwoofer configuration.
    • Dynamic Volume: Audyssey Dynamic Volume features advanced psycho-acoustic processing to deliver clear dialog and wide range sound at reduced volume levels so that you can enjoy theater-level clarity at whatever listening level you choose.
    • Dynamic EQ: Audyssey Dynamic EQ also features advanced DSP processing to deliver full range wide-band response, even at reduced volume levels. Dynamic EQ Reference Level Offset provides three offsets from the film level reference (5 dB, 10 dB, and 15 dB) that can be selected when the mix level of the content is not within the standard.

Denon Original Listening Modes: Denon's Original Listening Modes, combined with Dolby Digital/DTS processing, produce more realistic, powerful sound effects for your movie and music sound tracks based on the type of content and your home theater setup. You can choose from the following -

    • Rock Arena: For rock and popular music sources, this mode surrounds you with reflected sound of the kind you would hear at a live concert.
    • Jazz Club: This mode recreates the atmosphere of a live house where the ceiling is low and you are enveloped with rich doses of reflected sound.
    • Matrix: With this mode, you can add rich reflected sound to 2-channel stereo music sources where reflected sound is normally not audible.
    • Video Game: This mode is suited for achieving surround sound with video games..
    • Mono Movie: This mode is used when you listen to recorded monaural sound sources such as AM radio broadcasts or news programs from the center speaker.
    • Virtual: Enjoy surround effects using only the front speakers or set of headphones.
    • Multichannel Stereo: Left and right stereo channels are distributed to all the speakers so that stereo sound can be heard from all directions at any listening position.

Direct Listening Modes: The Denon AVR-X3300W offers two Direct Listening Modes which bypass the receiver's tone & DSP processing for higher sound quality performance. Direct Mode provides playback of 2ch or Multichannel audio in its original form, without any surround or tone processing. Pure Direct Mode goes a step further by turning off the receiver's display and analog video circuitry to minimize the possibility of any noised being added to the audio signal.

Audio Enhancements: The Denon AVR-X3300W receiver provides various audio enhancements to deliver a high-quality listening experience every time.

    • CINEMA EQ (Cinema Equalizer): The Cinema EQ function gently decreases the level of the extreme high frequencies, compensating for overly-bright sounding motion picture soundtracks. Select this function if the sound from the front speakers is too bright. This function only works in the Dolby Digital & DTS modes.
    • Compressed Audio Restorer: Compressed audio formats such as MP3, WMA (Windows Media Audio), and MPEG-4 AAC reduce the amount of data by eliminating signal components that are hard for the human ear to hear. The Restorer function generates the signals eliminated upon compression, restoring the sound to conditions near those of the original sound before compression. It also corrects the sense of volume of the bass to obtain richer sound with compressed audio signals.
    • Dynamic Range Compression (DRC): Motion picture soundtracks have tremendous dynamic range (the contrast between very soft and very loud sounds). For listening late at night, or whenever the maximum sound level is lower than usual, Compressing the dynamic range allows you to hear all of the sounds in the soundtrack with reduced dynamic range. DRC works when playing program sources recorded in Dolby Digital or DTS.
    • Room Size: The receiver's audio output can be set to simulate the acoustics of a Small, Medium Small, Medium (default), Medium Large, or Large room environment. This setting is not an indication of the actual size of your listening area.

Level Adjustments:The AVR-X3300W provides the following level adjustments.

    • Source Level: This function adjusts the playback level of the currently selected input source's audio input. Use this feature if there are differences in the input volume levels between different sources. You can correct the playback level of the audio input from -12 to +12dB.
    • Dialogue Level: You can adjust the output level (+/-12dB) to increase the dialogue output from the center channel.
    • Subwoofer Level: You can set the receiver's subwoofer output level (+/-12dB) independent from the other speaker levels and system's main volume.

Volume Settings: The AVR-X3300W offers the following volume settings.

    • Volume Scale: You can choose to display an Absolute volume scale (0-98) or Relative volume scale (-79.5 to 18dB).
    • Volume Limit: You can set a maximum volume level of 0, -10, or -20 dB to limit the receiver's total volume output.
    • Power On Level: You can define the volume setting that is active when the power is turned on (0, 1-98, -79 to +18dB, or Last)
    • Mute Level: You can set the amount of attenuation for the audio muting circuit; -40dB or -20dB below current volume, or full mute (sound turned off entirely).
    • Source Level: This function adjusts the playback level of the currently selected input source's audio input. Use this feature if there are differences in the input volume levels between different sources. You can correct the playback level of the audio input from -12 to +12dB.

Audio Outputs: The Denon AV receiver features color-coded binding-post speaker terminals, 7.2ch pre-outs, and a front-panel headphone jack.

    • Color-Coded Speaker Terminals: The receiver has binding-post terminals for all speaker connections. The binding-post terminals can accept bare wire, pin connectors, and banana plugs (single/dual). The receiver will accept speaker impedances of 4 to 16-ohm. The AV receiver comes with color-coded labels to easily identify which channel a speaker cable should be connected to. Since the speaker cables have labels in the same colors as the connectors on the AVR-X3300W's rear panel, there's no longer any confusion about which terminals they should be connected to.
    • 7.2Ch Pre-Outs: The AV receiver features 7.2ch pre-amp outputs (Front L/R, Center, Surround L/R, Surround Back L/R, and Dual Subs) for connection to external power amplifiers. The pre-outs are variable. For compatibility with dual subwoofer home theater systems, the AVR-X3300W features two discrete subwoofer outputs. With dual subwoofers, which can be placed in different parts of the room, you'll benefit from response averaging, which helps provide smoother and more detailed deep bass, compared to a conventional single subwoofer speaker system.
    • Headphone Jack: When headphones are plugged into the full-size 1/4" jack on the front panel, all the speakers are automatically muted.

    Video Section

HDMI 2.0a: Featuring eight HDMI inputs (including one conveniently located on the front-panel) and two HDMI outputs, the AVR-X3300W incorporates an advanced video section that features the latest HDMI 2.0a specification, including support for 4K/60 Hz Ultra-HD video, BT.2020 Wide Color Gamut, High Dynamic Range (HDR), 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling and 21:9 video pass-through, along with support for 3D content. With 4:4:4 color subsampling, luminance (brightness) and chroma (color) are sampled at the same rate; resulting in an RGB color palette as big as the video sampling rate for a video image with more colors, plus greater color accuracy and detail. The front-panel HDMI only supports 4K 60/50Hz using format YCbCr 4:2:0 only.
    • HDR (High Dynamic Range): HDR provides enhanced picture quality by simultaneously enabling greater detail for both the dark and bright parts of an image. HDR reproduces a greater dynamic range of luminosity or brightness levels, creating greater contrast. This increased contrast reveals the subtle nuances of the image, from detailed blacks and shadows to the brightest whites and colors, plus greater depth.
    • Wide Color Gamut (BT.2020): The BT.2020 color standard delivers a much wider color gamut and represents about 75% of the total visual color spectrum, while the current Rec. 709 color standard selected as the color space for HDTVs and early generation 4K Ultra HDTVs covers only 35% of the total visual color spectrum.
    • 21:9 Aspect Ratio: By supporting 21:9 aspect ratio, this receiver can show films recorded in the Cinema Scope format on your TV for a much more immersive video experience. When these types of films are viewed in the usual 16:9 ratio, you see black bars at the top and bottom of the screen; 21:9 eliminates these bars.
Note: Out of the box, the AVR-X3300W is only compatible with HDR10. Through a future firmware update (scheduled for October 2017), the unit will also support Dolby Vision and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) HDR formats.

Dual HDMI Outputs: The AV receiver's two HDMI outputs are discrete, allowing you to enjoy two different HDMI audio/video sources on two different displays or TVs.

4K Video Upconversion: The Denon AV receiver's sophisticated video processor provides upconversion from standard definition (480i/480p) and high definition (720p/1080i/1080p) sources to 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160 pixels), which lets you connect all your analog (composite/component) or digital (HDMI) video sources to the AVR-X3300W and then connect to your TV with just a single HDMI cable. Only the receiver's main HDMI output supports video upconversion.

Other HDMI Features: The Denon AVR-X3300W AV receiver's HDMI connectivity also offers 3D video pass-through, ARC (Audio Return Channel), Deep Color & x.v.Color support, as well as an auto LipSync function.

    • ARC (Audio Return Channel): This feature of the AVR-X3300W's main HDMI monitor output allows audio to be sent from your compatible HDTV to the receiver through the same HDMI cable already being used to send audio and video to your HDTV. This eliminates the need for extra cables connected to your television.
    • Deep Color & x.v.Color Support: The AV receiver supports Deep Color and x.v.Color content, which can display a larger color range than standard-definition schemes. The result is a more lifelike, vibrant picture
    • LipSync: This function adjusts the delay between audio and video output. You can do this manually or have the receiver set the LipSync function automatically. When connected to a TV via HDMI the receiver automatically adjusts audio output timing (0-500ms) if the TV supports an automatic LipSync function. You can also manually delay the sound output up to 500ms to synchronize it with the video image.

HDMI Standby Pass-Through: When the AV receiver is in "Standby" mode and the HDMI Standby Pass-Through function is enabled, both audio/video streams from the receivers HDMI input will be output to your television, via the AV receiver's HDMI monitor output. Once the receiver is turned "On", only video will pass through the monitor output to your TV and the audio is directed to the receiver's speaker outputs.

    • HDMI Input: Selects the HDMI Input for which the HDMI Standby Pass-Through function is enabled.
    • Last: The HDMI Standby-Through function is activated on the input source selected at the time of setting the AV receiver to the "Standby" mode.

    • Song/Artist Info: Song/Artist information will displayed on the receiver's front-panel LCD or your HDMI-connected TV.
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Denon AV receiver.

iPod/iPhone Connectivity: The Denon AV receiver offers wired (via USB) and wireless (via AirPlay) connectivity for your Apple iPod, iPhone, or iPad. You can even watch video from select Apple devices via the receiver's front-panel HDMI input.

    • AirPlay Compatible: AirPlay lets you stream your favorite songs directly from your Apple iOS (4.3.3+) device or from your iTunes (10.2.2+) library on your Windows PC or Mac computer to the AV receiver, over your home's wireless network connection. From your Apple iOS device you are able to stream stored music on your device, downloaded music apps, and music on your iCloud to the AV receiver. From your Windows or Mac you can stream your stored iTunes music library on your computer to the AV receiver; you can even download Apple's freeRemote App onto your compatible iOS device to browse and control playback functions of the music stored in your iTunes music library on your computer that is being streamed to the AV receiver. With AirPlay you also get to see song/artist information and album art via the receiver's on-screen menu (via HDMI).
    • USB Direct: The AVR-X3300W supports digital music playback from an iPod, iPhone, or iPad using its front-panel USB (type-A) port. Simply plug your compatible Apple device into the receiver's front-panel USB port, using the cable that came with your iPod/iPhone/iPad. Stored music and music apps from your connected Apple device can be played through the AV receiver, bypassing the iPod/iPhone D/A converter for better sound quality. The iPod/iPhone/iPad can be controlled by the receiver's remote, or you can continue to use the Apple device's clickwheel or touchscreen. You can search for stored music on your iPod/iPhone/iPad by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, Podcast, Genre, Composer, or Audiobook. Song/artist information and Album Art from stored music and music apps on your iPod/iPhone will display on your connected TV via HDMI (song/artist text will also display on receiver's front-panel display).
    • HDMI Video: You can also view video from stored movies and movie apps from select iPods, iPhone, and iPads by connecting your Apple device to the AV receiver's front-panel USB and HDMI input. Use the Apple Lightning-to-Digital AV Adapter (472LT2HDMI sold separately), the Apple Lightning-to-USB cable that came with your device, and a HDMI cable (sold separately) to connect your Lightning connector iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad to the AV receiver. Use the Apple Dock-to-Digital AV Adapter (sold separately), the Apple Dock-to-USB cable that came with your device, and a HDMI cable (sold separately) to connect your iPod touch (4th gen), iPhone 4/4S, or iPad (1/2/3). Using the HDMI input, video from your iPod/iPhone/iPad can only be navigated from your Apple device's clickwheel or touchscreen.

Note: Your Apple iPod/iPhone's battery will be charged while connected to the receiver (max. 1A). This unit will not charge the iPad.

    Multiroom Playback

Zone 2: Denon's Zone 2 function lets you select a different audio source for listening in a second location of your home. The AVR-X3300W features a Main Zone (audio/video) and Zone 2 (audio only). The Main Zone offers 7.1-channel playback of your audio/video gear in your main entertainment room. Zone 2 allows stereo audio playback of another source connected to the receiver in another room of your home via left/right RCA audio or speaker level outputs. When using the AVR-X3300W to power speakers in a second room of your home, the main zone is restricted to 5.1-channels. When using the receiver's line output terminals for the second room you need an additional amplifier to power those speakers; the main Zone of the receiver remains 7.1-channel. The volume of Zone 2 can be controlled by the Denon receiver using either configuration or from your add-on amplifier when using the line-output.

    • Compatible Sources: Compatible Zone 2 sources include - Analog audio inputs, HDMI audio (2ch PCM only), Optical/Coaxial digital inputs (2ch PCM only), AM/FM Tuner (cannot select different stations for each zone), USB (including iPod/iPhone), AirPlay, Bluetooth, Internet Radio (different network sources cannot be played back in multiple zones at the same time), DLNA/Media Server contents.
    • Incompatible Sources: Analog video signals and DSD audio cannot be sent to Zone 2.

Note: Unfortunately, you cannot select USB and Network sources exclusively for each Zone. For example, if you select a network source for Zone 2 when a USB source is selected for the Main Zone, the input source in the Main Zone also switches to the same network source as Zone 2 (this scenario also includes Bluetooth).

HDMI Zone 2: The AVR-X3300W also incorporates multi-zone HDMI audio/video distribution for Zone 2 with the inclusion of its HDMI matrix switching functionality. The receiver can send two different HDMI video feeds to two displays at the same time directly from the receiver. HDMI Zone 2 also supports 2ch PCM audio from the HDMI input source selected. The HDMI Zone 2 function is only compatible with the HDMI 1-7 input connectors. It is not compatible with the HDMI 8 input connector or any other input source. Volume of HDMI Zone 2 is controlled from the TV or additional receiver in Zone 2.

All Zone Stereo Function: The All Zone Stereo function allows you to enjoy the AV receiver's Main Zone audio source in Zone 2 simultaneously (regardless of input audio signal types; analog or digital). During the All Zone Stereo mode, only the "Multi Ch Stereo" and "Stereo" sound modes can be selected. You will have independent volume control in each zone. All Zone Stereo mode is useful when you want to enjoy the same music at the same time in multiple rooms during a get together or party.

HEOS Multiroom Compatible: Thanks to the AV receiver's network and IP control capability, it can be integrated into Denon's HEOS whole home audio system via the HEOS Link (sold separately) and the HEOS app for Apple iOS (7.0+) &Android OS (2.3+). The HEOS Link connects to the AV receiver's Zone 2 preouts and a set of stereo RCA inputs or optical digital input on the receiver. Now, you can send the receiver's Zone 2 audio to other HEOS speakers in different rooms of your home, as well as play back audio from other HEOS devices through the AV receiver. From the app on your mobile device, you'll be able to control the Denon receiver along with other Denon HEOS gear and listen to music throughout your home. The HEOS wireless multi-room sound system by Denon can support up to 32 HEOS products (sold separately) on a single wireless network.

    • Music: You can select which source you want to listen to from the app. Choose from the receiver's Zone 2 audio, the Link's built-in online music services (likeTuneIn, Pandora, Spotify Connect, iHeart Radio, SiriusXM,Rhapsody, Amazon Music orTIDAL), the music library on your mobile device, and more.
    • Rooms: From the app on your Apple iOS or Android device, you can select which rooms you want playing. You can play the same music in multiple rooms by grouping rooms together, or you can listen to a different source in each room.
    • Groups: You can join or group up to eight individual HEOS devices into a group that function as if they were a single speaker. The HEOS App is also flexible enough where you can create up to 16 Groups (2 HEOS products per Group).
    • Party Mode: You can easily group eight rooms together into Party Mode by using a "pinch" gesture.
Note: The Denon AV receiver only allows one IP connection for control. If the receiver is already being controlled by a 3rd party control system via IP, then the HEOS Link will not be able to control it.

    Remote & App Control

AVR Remote App: The new Denon AVR Remote App lets you control the Denon AV receiver using your Apple (iOS 7.0) or Android (OS 4.0+) device. From this free app on your compatible Apple iOS or Android device, you'll be able to control the Denon AV receiver's basic functions; such as power, volume, input, surround modes, and other settings. You'll also be able to control separate Zones of the receiver, as well as navigate the AV receiver's network and Internet content from the app. In addition, you get you get unique features likes a landscape orientation control screen for tablet devices, the ability to create playlists, and control over a Denon Blu-ray player.

    • Landscape Orientation Control Screen: With a landscape orientation control screen for tablet devices, you can easily browse and navigate through your network music services or personal digital music collection with ease, and at the same time view now-playing information and cover art all on a single screen.
    • Create Playlists: The app's playback screen allows you to easily build your own personal music playlists on the fly with the ability to Drag & Drop files into your queue, or tap to "Play Now", "Play Next", "Play Next and Replace Queue" or "Add to End of Queue". You can then save your queue as a playlist for easy recall.
    • Denon Blu-ray Player Control: The app allows control over Denon Blu-ray (DBT-xx13 series) that are connected to the AV receiver via HDMI.

Note: This AV receiver is not compatible with last year's older Denon Remote App.

IR Remote: The Denon AVR-X3300W comes with an IR remote for wireless operation of the AV receiver. The AVR-X3300W's can also be used to control select external audio/video components connected via HDMI which support HDMI control.

HDMI-CEC: When you make an HDMI connection with a TV or Blu-ray player compatible with the AVR-X3300W's HDMI control function, you can perform the operations from the AVR-X3300W's remote control; Power off, Switching of audio output devices, Switching of audio input devices, Volume adjustment, and Playback functions.

Smart TV Control: When you connect the AVR-X3300W to your Smart TV, you have the option of controlling the AVR-X3300W via the TV's remote control which lets you select an input, adjust the volume and choose the surround sound mode. The receiver and your TV must be connected via HDM with the HDMI-CEC function activated on both components.

Custom Integration: The AVR-X3300W is part of Denon's IN-Command series line-up of receiver, which is Denon's certification to custom installers that the receiver has advanced connectivity and control features often required for custom home integration and theater applications using premium control systems. These features include IP control, a RS232C jack for use with whole house control systems, remote in/out IR command control, and a 12V trigger output.

    • RS-232C Port: Port for connection to external whole-house control systems, from companies such as AMX, Crestron, etc.
    • Remote Jacks: Minijack input and output jacks for use with an optional IR repeater system (sold separately).
    • 12V Trigger Output: The AVR-X3300W has a single minijack output to send a 12-Volt DC turn-on signal to another component that accepts a 12V trigger, such as a power amplifier in Zone 2. The conditions under which the trigger output activates is programmable.
    • IP Control: The receiver can be set up and operated by a home computer on the network via IP control, either via wired LAN connection or Wi-Fi, and also features Control4 SDDP (Simple Device Detection Protocol) certification for quick and easy integration with Control4 home automation equipment.

    Convenience Features

OSD w/ Setup Assistant (via HDMI): With Denon's on-screen menu and setup assistant, you can connect, configure, and use your home theater system with ease. The OSD and setup assistant features clear on-screen graphics and text that optimizes critical system settings for your particular home theater setup. The on-screen menu and setup assistant can be output to your TV via HDMI only. If you connect the receiver to your television via only composite or component video, you will need to use the AV receiver's front-panel display for menu and source adjustments.

Note: Initial setup requires that the receiver be connected to your TV via HDMI for display of the on-screen menu. Many of the receiver's setup functions can only be found via the on-screen menu and not the front-panel display.

Quick Select: On the AVR-X3300W's front-panel, you'll find four Quick Select buttons that let you quickly choose from the most popular input sources; the ergonomically designed remote also includes Quick Select function buttons. With Quick Select, the AVR-X3300W remembers not only your preferred inputs but also your preferred audio settings, so you can enjoy precisely tailored sound with each one.

Gapless Playback: Many live and classical albums have no gaps in the music. Gapless playback ensures that there are no pauses between audio files. This provides playback with no interruptions, the way it was meant to be heard. Compatible with WAV and FLAC music files via USB or DLNA.

Keyword Search: You can also search Internet Radio, USB, and DLNA content using keyword searches from the AV receiver's on-screen menu and remote control.

Input Name & Delete: You can change the display name (up to 8 characters) of a selected input source. If an input isn't being used, you can delete it from the display so you don't have to scroll past it when you change sources.

Slide Shows/Picture View: You can play back still image (JPEG) files stored on a USB memory device or media server and pictures on Flickr website as a slide show. The display time can also be set. You can also play back music and a favorite picture at the same time via USB, Internet Radio, or Media Server.

Sleep Timer + Auto Standby: The Denon AV receiver features a programmable Sleep Timer and Auto Standby function. The Sleep Timer allows you to automatically set the power to standby after a predetermined amount of time has passed; set the sleep timer up to 120 minutes in 10 minute increments. The unit enters Standby mode automatically when no commands are sent to the unit for the set time (15/30/60 minutes). Before it enters the standby mode, "Auto Standby" is displayed on the front-panel display of this unit and the on-screen menu.

ECO Mode: This receiver is equipped with an ECO Mode function that allows you to enjoy music and movies while reducing the power consumption during use, Eco mode adjusts the maximum power available according to the volume level selected to reduce power consumption.

Personal Memory Plus: For each input, the receiver automatically memorizes the settings for input mode, surround mode, HDMI output mode, audio delay, etc. When the input source is switched, the settings last used for that source are automatically recalled. The surround parameters, tone control settings, and playback levels for the different output channels are memorized for each surround mode.

Protection Circuit: This is a function to prevent damage to components within the power supply when an abnormality such as an overload, excess voltage, or over-heating occurs. In this unit, the power indicator blinks and the unit enters standby mode when an abnormality occurs.

    Why did you buy this?

I wanted a receiver that could perform Audyssey room calibration. My old Onkyo receiver had this feature but the newer Onkyo models have since dropped it. The Denon picked up the function and I am switching brands. My advisor, Cosmo, was helpful in comparing the receivers in this price range.[ Devan  Oct 15, 2017 ]
needed an up to date receiver and this one seems to have everything I need[ George  Oct 11, 2017 ]
Have older Denon S video switcher. Great engine and wanted same power as all speakers are same (built in wall) [ STEVEN  Oct 09, 2017 ]
Replacing older model - Denon 3806. Spoke to Buddy @ Crutchfield at length comparing products and features.[ DAVE  Oct 06, 2017 ]
price; good reviews; basically has the same features as the newer model[ alonzo  Oct 05, 2017 ]
This is a great receiver and the price offered as a model year-end closeout is awesome and very competitive with other online vendors.[ David  Sep 30, 2017 ]
My Onkyo blew out on me after dumping $200 in repairs a week earlier :( . This meets my needs, and hopefully will have a longer life with everything I might need. Crutchfield Help Archer answered my questions and was very helpful. That and the price convinced me to purchase from here instead of another place. I just hope after this glowing review I am not disappointed when I get it or in the future.[ Robert  Sep 29, 2017 ]
upgrade from Denon AVR 1911, seems to be highly rated. Free shipping[ Mark  Sep 28, 2017 ]

It's replacing an older Denon AVR-3806 w/ too few HDMI inputs & a failed remote controller. With special order discount, this seemed like best performance bang for the buck after having discussed various options with Harley.[ Donald  Sep 19, 2017 ]

Just bought a 4K TV. Needed a compatible pass-through receiver for HDR. Dolby Vision will be added soon with a firmware update.[ Mark  Sep 16, 2017 ]
Seemed to be the best deal online. A4L had a refurbished unit for cheaper, but for $20 more I can get an open box new unit with a full 3-Year Warranty and 60-Day returns vs. 1-Year Warranty and 30-Day returns. Much happier getting a new unit since those tend to have a lower failure rate.[ Sunita  Sep 15, 2017 ]

I have owned several Denon Audio-Visual receivers over the years. I have have always appreciated the quality and performance of Denon AV-Receivers, but as technology advanced I upgraded accordingly. After researching and reading reviews of several AVR's, including Marantz I chose the Denon AVR-X3300W Receiver to match up with my SONY Ultra-HD TV. I felt the Denon AVR-X3300W gave me the best bang for the buck.[ Mark  Aug 12, 2017 ]
My previous receiver was over 10 years old and didn't have up-to-date features like HDMI support. I also use a separate power amp for my front speakers. So, I needed a receiver with front pre-outs. Denon and Marantz are about the only options in my price range that offer pre-outs. With the discounted price that Crutchfield was offering on the AVR-X3300W, it was a no-brainer to buy it.[ Vincent  Aug 11, 2017 ]

Thought it was a good deal. Seemed OK at first but there were issues with the receiver. It could not update itself, remained locked in an update attempt and could not be reset.after calling fot tech support at both Crutchfield and Denon, they both considered it defective and said it should be returned. The return has not been a problem.[ Albert  Jul 30, 2017 ]

Needed to upgrade my 15 year old receiver. Feature of second room audio and video from a separate source within my system at the same time was a feature that appealed to me.[ Robert  May 08, 2017 ]
This replaced an AVR-X2200W, which I gave to my son after owning less than one year. The AVR-X3300W is the same with 2differences. The AVR-X3300W 105 watts vs. AVR-X2200W 95 watts. X3300W also has the better Audyssey MultEQ XT32 DSP,for a much higher resolution or granularity in its ability to tune your system to your listening room. Both are excellent AVR's. I am driving a Klipsch Reference Premiere 6.1 speaker arrangement and it sounds spectacular.[ James  Feb 10, 2017 ]

Outrageous price for high quality Denon receiver with top performance and top reviews.[ Rowdy  Jan 17, 2017 ]
Love Denon and got a new 4K TV[ Steve  Jan 12, 2017 ]
I had a Marantz sr7500 that purchased through my old employer at cost about 10 years ago. It finally died. After talking to Crutchfield customer service I learned that Denon is a sister co. to Marantz. I was extremely happy with the Marantz especially after listening to friends set ups. I'm hoping the Denon is equivalent[ Kevin  Jan 02, 2017 ]
I have an Denon AVR-2809CI I purchased 8 years ago. It has been great and has not given any problems. I will be moving it along with my old flat screen Samsung tv to a new kids movie/x-box room. The new Denon AVR-X3300W along with a new Samsung 4K tv will be going back into the main family room with in-wall surround sound.[ James K.  Dec 31, 2016 ]
New technology, reputation , own previous model, upgrading main living room, moving older model to basement area.[ William  Dec 18, 2016 ]
For my new Man Cave![ Keith  Dec 16, 2016 ]
Price was the same as the 2300 and your advisor recommended it[ C  Dec 16, 2016 ]
Previous owner of Denon receiver that continues to function perfectly but the technology is out-dated. Quality and functionality are the main reasons I chose to upgrade to a new Denon. Crutchfield has been flawless in the support and delivery.[ Glen  Dec 14, 2016 ]
Has everything that I was looking for and is at a reasonable price.[ Vinh  Dec 07, 2016 ]
It has the features I need at the price point I want. I own other Denon products as well.[ Eric  Oct 24, 2016 ]
I ordered this product because of its full 4K video support.[ Robert  Sep 27, 2016 ]
New product but previous similar Denon receivers received good ratings.[ James  Aug 01, 2016 ]

    5 questions already asked

I actually have the same question/issue as well. All the documentation I have read states to choose "Dolby Multi Channel" but I agree, there is nothing that displays that "Dolby Atmos" is functional and working.[ JOHN  Feb 17, 2017 ]
The source audio has to be Dolby Atmos capable. If you are using a Samsung 4K DVD the audio digital output must be set to bitstream(unprocessed). If streaming from a Roku 4K it will do it automatically.[ John  Feb 17, 2017 ]
The audio sure..video I do not know..I don't think so bit I would contact Denon to know for sure[ Phillip  Jan 31, 2017 ]
Yes, the DENON can handle 2 zones at 7.1, plus has bluetooth transmitting capability. You should contact DENON customer support by phone to confirm. I bought mine 2 months ago and am completely satisfied.[ RAY  Jan 30, 2017 ]
I've never used Bluetooth head sets with this receiver but I found an article that says that it will not. You will need a Bluetooth Adapter to plug into the amps headphone jack[ Artches  Jan 19, 2017 ]
It does easily make a bluetooth connection to phones, but I have not tried connection to BT headphones. Sorry, not too helpful.[ Charles  Jan 18, 2017 ]
nope, it only receives, per Denon's WEBSITE FAQ on this unit.[ Adrian  Jan 18, 2017 ]
Not directly. But you can connect a bluetooth transmitter to the line level Zone 2 outputs. That will work as long as Zone 2 is on and set to the desired source input.[ Michael  Jan 18, 2017 ]
Thanks for your question. The included remote is IR. You'll find this information on the product page "Details" tab in the section for "Remote and App Control". Hope this helps.[ Kenny  Nov 19, 2016 ]  Staff
Per Denon's website: The AVR-X3200W and AVR-X3300W are very similar, but the AVR-X3300W has a couple improvements worth noting. The AVR-X3300W has the Audyssey Platinum package, with Audyssey MultEQ XT 32, while the AVR-X3200W has the Audyssey Silver package, with Audyssey MultEQ XT. This is the most notable upgrade, and will have a significant impact on the audio performance. The other noteworthy improvement is that the AVR-X3300W supports dual band (2.4GHz/5GHz) WiFi, while the AVR-X3200W only supports 2.4GHz. This is an advantage if you plan on connecting the unit to your WiFi network. The 5GHz band can offer a more stable wireless connection that's less susceptible to interference from other electronics and nearby wireless networks.[ Bud  Sep 01, 2016 ]
