Cutting-edge home theater

Step into a world of three-dimensional surround sound, crystal-clear video, and multi-zone music with Denon's AVR-X4300H home theater receiver. Play music in any room of your house with wireless HEOS technology. Advanced video processing lets you enjoy stunning picture quality on your compatible 4K TV. This receiver even upscales HD and standard definition video to 4K. It offers playback of high-resolution audio formats, and multidimensional Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround sound. Denon's AVR Remote app lets you control playback and settings from your compatible mobile device.

Set up a wireless whole-home audio system with HEOS

With built-in HEOS technology, the AVR-X4300H can be easily integrated into a wireless multi-room audio system. Stream music to HEOS wireless speakers in different rooms, and control each room's speakers independently with the free HEOS app. The app lets you control playback, browse music sources, and select which rooms you want to use. Play the same music throughout your home, or listen to something different in each room. You can play music from your own personal library, internet radio, and popular streaming services like Pandora®, Spotify®, and Tidal, just to name a few.

Multi-zone music and video

The AVR-X4300H's 9-channel amplifier gives you extra flexibility to expand your system into other rooms of your house. In your living room, you can set up a 7.1-channel surround sound system or a 5.1.2-channel Atmos system with a pair of upward-firing or overhead speakers. That leaves you with two amplifier channels you can reassign to power a set of speakers outdoors or in another room. If you're happy with a 5.1-channel system in your home theater, this receiver can power speakers in two additional zones. Or the extra height channels can be used to bi-amp a pair of compatible front speakers for more powerful sound. A "Zone 2" HDMI output lets you watch video from two separate sources in your living room and a second room.

A world of music at your fingertips

The AVR-X4300H's Wi-Fi lets you access your own digital music library through your home network, and Bluetooth lets you stream anything you like from your phone or tablet. Tune into internet radio stations from around the world with vTuner, or play custom content with Pandora, Spotify Connect, or SiriusXM. This powerful receiver even offers convenient playback of several different high-resolution audio formats through the front-panel USB port or a networked computer. Denon's Compressed Audio Restorer boosts the sound quality of MP3s and other digital music files, so you get the best sound from any music source you choose.

A great buy at current prices, a few issues

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent, feature rich AVR, and a steal at the closeout price for a 9.2 AVR with 11.2 capability (using an external 2 channel amp). I like it.

Pros: Powerful, tons of features, all 11 preamp channels available and active at all times, dual subwoofer outputs with management, the speaker banana plugs are actually spaced correctly to plug in dual banana plugs (why is this so hard for other manufacturers to do? I'm looking at you, Yamaha). HDR DV compatible with latest firmware. The Dolby Surround DSP is nicely implemented. Atmos compatible.

Cons: Unless you give it lots of room around the case, it runs VERY hot, even at normal listening levels. VERY hot. The GUI is straight out of the year 2000. Really, Denon, a large black rectangle covering a large portion of the bottom of the screen, with a thermometer running through the middle of it to show volume? Several UHD modes where the GUI doesn't work at all unless you turn on video processing. I don't want my AVR to do ANY video processing - just pass it along to the TV, please.

Have NOT completed setup of this product due to lousy directions provided by the manufacturer with this product. Frankly, these are the absolute worst directions I ever received for setup of dozens of receivers, cd players, dvd players, etc. Who wants to lo look at a tv screen and then go to the receiver (and back and forth) to do what a printed diagram for setup would do in your hands!!! And where are the operating instructions???? What is needed is a large scale picture of the back of this unit with arrows to portions and functions for hook-up, as well as detailed instructions for operation of the unit and the hand-held controller. If a quality manufacturer like Denon can not do these simple requests (like every other manufacturer) then Cruttchfield should do so!!!!

Perfect future-proof full Atmos and Dolby Vision receiver

Anonymous from Burbank, CA on 10/17/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great receiver. As future proof as a receiver can be with all the latest sound formats as well as support for HDR including Dolby Vision. I love that it can handle 11 channels of pre-processing even though it only has 9 amps. Full support for streaming using whatever your favorite method is. And with the introduction of the new models, the price is unbeatable. My only wish is that the amps were fully assignable, but definitely not a deal breaker given all the other pros.

Pros: Future-proof: Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, Airplay, Heos. Wifi firmware updates. Audyssey Plenty of power

Cons: Amps aren't fully assignable so an external amp has to power the last two ceiling channels (rather than using external for front channels).

Excellent as a Pre-amplifier, seems sufficient as a nice Receiver

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So I am not using this receiver as most people are....I am actually using 0% of the power of this receiver. I am simply using this as a Pre-amp because with the sale price (I got it a few months ago) It was less than same quality pre-amp (although no balanced outputs RCA only) but it sounds great. It gives me all of the latest functionality, HDCP 2.2 4K HDR 10, as well as Dolby Vision and HLG (New coming over the air 4K format) through the most recent update (October 17) Dolby Atmos & DTS X, and Auro 3D should I want it. I had talked to Denon and Marantz (same owners) before I got this as I wanted to see if the hardware was there, it is i.e. the recent update, as it was also updated on my Marantz SR6011 in another room of which I do use the power. Same Audyssey XT32 calibration tool etc. I use this in a 9.2.4 Dolby Atmos setup with a Rotel RB-1572 Power Amp for my fronts, Rotel RMB 1575 for the side and rear surrounds as well as my center, and a Parasound Zamp Quattro for my 4 Dolby Atmos Speakers (weird speakers need 5ohm) all using Audioquest RCA connectors from Denon to my Amps, Yukons for my fronts, Mackenzies for my center and 4 surrounds, and Red Rivers for the 4 Dolby Atmos Speakers. Plus this is Heos Capable! May add some Heos speakers in other rooms. My 6011 (although same company is not, the 6012 is). Well worth the money for me as a Pre-amp and actually much less. Now my main theater room is 4K ready (Wasn't before this) Just need the screen now..shopping..

Pros: Has all of the latest functionality basically out there...latest update also adds Dolby Vision Support and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) pass-through. Heos Compatible. This should last me for some time...but If technologies change drastically down the road as they always do...this will be a fine receiver for another part of my home or friend.

Cons: Runs hot even though I am not using it for power at all (make sure you have sufficient space around it or proper cooling system (depending on your setup) This Receiver will run 6ohm loads, I was surprised, however you cannot choose which channels you want on which ohm, it is all or nothing. I have a mixed bag of ohm requirements on my speakers thus using as pre-amp only.

Love my new denon 4300!! easy set up . I upgrade from my Pioneer elite 71 for the new 3d audio out there ,my setup is 5.2.4 with one zone out for outside speakers .

Love this Denon AVR_X43000H IN-_Command, ordered on Tuesday and arrived Wednesday less than 24 hours. It took about 3 hours to setup, used the mick for the initial sounding of the room, I raised all the speaker volumes to get the best equal all around sound. I am using the 7.1 setup and still making minor adjustments. It has a great full sound for music and movies. I had this AVR for 2 weeks and love the complete package.

    Pros: Easy setup

    Cons: None

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Wow is this receiver amazing. Moving up from a Marantz NR1403 which is also very well made, for the 4K features. Still am not utilizing everything available yet, but it's feature list allows me to grow my home theater all the way to an 11.2. Still running 5.1 and the sound is comparable to the Marantz. Utilizing some upscaling on video and our older plasma TV looks better. Would like to add a longer term review at a later date, but if is anything like the Marantz then it will be great.

Pros: Utilizes all the new sound profiles, and can add Auro 3D. Connectivity to all devices with triggers for multiple amps,

Cons: Only negative is understanding the incoming signal from sources like Appletv. Reads multi in which is kind of confusing.

Top Value at a Closeout Price!

Ken from Ephrata, PA on 10/5/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent Denon receiver and a great value at the closeout price! I upgraded my Denon 3806 avr. The 4300 is head over hills better, and primarily due to wifi and streaming, but even more so with the Audyssey XT32 processing. It brought my 5.1 to life and so much better than the 3806 Audyssey app. Upgrading at this price is a no brainer!

Pros: Power, easy setup, functionality, Audyssey sound processing, quality

    Cons: None!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Denon AVR X4300h was very easy to set up. Setting up the surround sound was quick and easy using their MultEQ® XT32 advanced auto setup. My surround sound is way better and in balance then my old Yahama receiver had. The signal quality to my TV was noticeably better too. We coupled a new LG OLED 55E7P with our new Denon and the sound and picture is stunning. Worth every penny!

Pros: Denon MultEQ® XT32 advanced auto setup was quick and easy.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

OK ..... I really like this amp.... my Yamaha AVR shot craps and I was stuck without an amp.... never had a Denon product before other than an old turntable I never should have parted with.... I like Onkyo and would normally have bought one of those, but I need the pre-outs and this one was way cheaper than the Onkyo model with the pre-outs....this one was regular 1500 and was 700 off.... plus I had almost 50 bucks in Crutchfield points.... no tax... free shipping.... good deal.... This was way easier to set up than the Yamaha. The iPhone and iPad remote works great and it found my Escient music server all by itself and I can play that music library though it.... Apple airplay works well too .... very intuitive AVR.... much more so than my 5 year old Yamaha Adventage....which to be honest is the most complicated amp to set up i have ever seen. Press the Bluetooth button on the remote, it automatically connects to Alexa and for a few bucks a month, you can listen to almost any song you can think of.... setting up the speakers was easy and the thing has just really exceeded my expectations in every way. I just hope it's durable....one hint.... buy new HDMI cables .... every morning when I first turned it on, I had to unplug and plug in the HDMI out cable to watch Xfinity.... using a 1.4/2.2 cable fixed that..... it does a good job of up conversion.... but I am going to run video through my Oppo 105d to use the darbee processor.... it has a phono jack too!

Pros: Easy set up Great sound Intuitive

I Love it!! And really happy to get it on sale as well,As I bought lower end unit from another retailer and returned it when I seen this unit on sale at Crutchfield, do no why I didn't check out Crutchfield first as I have done business with them in the past and have all ways been happy with service and sales staff, and there tech support second to none as they give that personal touch to there customers! lesson learned as the other retailer has become so unpersonal and slow to price match, I like feeling like my business is really appreciated as crutchfield has shown me time and time again Thank You to all the staff as you have earned a customer for life!! Thanks again John

Great receiver, we actually purchased to replace the Pioneer SC-95 that was fried due to a lightening strike and was going to cost the same as this receiver to fix so we purchased new and have been so pleased with the ease of setting this up and how easily it walks you through the steps of connecting with all of your other electronics. Very impressed! The only problem we have encountered is that it automatically switches off of cable channel when we first turn everything on.

    Flexible, powerful, Audyssey App

Allen from Greensboro, NC on 9/19/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We built a 20x30 vaulted ceiling family room addition on our home with Dolby Atmos in mind. Great time to do it when you're looking at studs. Dolby and other sources have a great guide for laying out the angle and distance of your speakers for Atmos, use it. Got all the speakers installed after drywall and paint then waited for the perfect receiver. Finding one that was below my threshold of pain that met all my criteria proved a bit tricky. We wanted an app for our phones, I have 11 channels to drive, plus an extra set of wired speakers for zone 2 (deck) and zone 3 pre-outs will be used elsewhere in the house. This unit checked all the boxes even though it's 9 channels. I pre-amped the rear height speakers using a legacy receiver, which also serves as the amp for the deck speakers. These are mutually exclusive for my use anyhow. The Audyssey app works great, takes a while to walk through it but gone are the days of setting distance, delay, frequency response and level manually. It sounded good, then I downloaded the Dolby Atmos demo files and played them for my wife (she's the movie fan). After she picked her jaw up off the floor she explained that she understood why I spent all those hours running wire, and that she really had no need to ever go to a theater again. Mission accomplished. The sound stage is incredible and I'm still learning what this receiver can do. As always service from Crutchfield is exemplary.

    Pros: Price to performance

Overall great receiver and great price.

My 5 year old Pioneer Elite decided that it no longer wanted to do video. I hate shopping for AV equipment more than shoes... and once you get a comfortable set.... It was quickly and easily set up. I'm struggling a bit with getting the sound balanced in the room, but it's an unusual room and it took me awhile to get the Elite balanced too. The automated mics don't work well in this room. I have 5.1 in the main room, with two separate sets of outdoor speakers. 9 channels was enough, although I didn't realize the 3rd set require analog. Luckily HEOS is considered analog, and can feed Sirus XM through HEOS. Which brings me to my 4 star rating. Heos requires to be loaded on your smart phone to get it to work on the receiver??? My other complaint, it sees my server, however, it won't index the music files by genre. One online forum suggested that the receiver can't deal with too many files, so it just gives up. For the sale (clearance?) price it's an excellent deal. I wouldn't pay the MSRP for this receiver.

This receiver is great I upgraded from the 3300 because it has more watts per Channel and I can hook up my camcorder or my camera through the front also just a reminder because I had this happen to me my HDMI cord was 9 years old I figured it was still good but it wasn't, my receiver in settings mode was acting very weird I would go into certain things back out and I would have two screens in one or a black screen with nothing to see so I took it to Crutchfield to see what was going on and guess what it was the HDMI cord thanks to the guys at Crutchfield in Harrisonburg I was able to figure it out

Pros: I'm able to hook up my camera and camcorder to the front

I am very satisfied with the unit. It was easy to set up and operate. The only issue was the microphone setup. It did not work properly and I had to manually adjust the speakers to our liking. That was not a problem to do.

Love it! Great upgrade from my 15-year old Yamaha. Denon makes great products. Easy setup and instantly better, more balanced sound, and the test mode even detected a wiring issue. Plenty of inputs and fairly intuitive to use.

Bought this receiver mainly for 4k passthrough. Retiring my perfectly good Denon 3313CI just for the 4k video. I love my 3313, which produces a very warm, pleasant sound signature. But the 4300h sounds very cold (same speakers). Music is very difficult to listen to.

Pros: video 4k enough power and connectors

Cons: cold and metallic sound signature, a big backward from my old 3330 CI, which was very warm. loud "click" sound when switching sound effects or inputs.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great receiver, plenty of inputs and outputs, plan to upgrade my speakers to allow for 5.1.4 sound so that's every exciting. Great user interface, although a search feature would be nice. Main reason for only giving four stars is that when using the Zone 2 HDMI output and passing the same signal to both, the receiver "dumbs down" the audio in Zone 1 to match that audio or video capability in Zone 2. In other words, if Zone 1 is capable of 5.1 surround, but Zone 2 can only do 2.0 sound, then you only get 2.0 sound in Zone 1. Other than that, there's no significant features I'd improve. It does all the most current HDMI standards, and will even pass Dolby Vision in the next few weeks with a firmware update, and the price cannot be best right now!

Pros: Latest HDMI specs, tons of inputs, dual HDMI outputs, price, quality, three year warranty

Cons: Zone 2 audio output dumbs down Zone 1 output,

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love the receiver. I have an AVR3311 ci and I love that receiver. So, when I needed to replace a receiver in another room I purchased this one. I am still learning this one. I bought it for Bluetooth so I could opt out of using the speakers and use my earbuds in my office 30 feet away. I was mistaken, however. The Bluetooth on this receiver does not transmit Bluetooth. It only receives Bluetooth from other devices such as iPods and iPhones. I haven't looked into the Helos yet for a solution. Crutchfield is a great vendor. The receiver arrived 3 days after I ordered it.

    Pros: Great sound. Many features.

Cons: Missing a Bluetooth transmit feature as found in many of today's electronics. Instead, the only option seems to be for Helos devices which I don't think are Bluetooth compatible.

    Excellent sound and video quality

Richard from Damascus, MD on 9/4/2017

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this receiver to replace a "bottom of the line" Denon receiver and the difference between the two is enormous. This receiver is very similar to a Pioneer Elite in terms of features and refinement. Others have complained about the basic graphics for the setup operation, but I found them sufficient and logical. Strangely the receiver does not try any connections first, it prompts the user to make each connection individually and then tests it; Denon presumes this is a new installation. I, like many users, had used the supplied labels to mark my existing cables and then made all the connections at once. The Audyssey calibration did a very good job with the sound field. During calibration, like other users, I was surprised at how low the receiver wanted my subwoofer level. Once calibrated, the sound quality is exceptional, dialogue is especially clean and this amplifier is powerful. I have had no problems with HDMI sources and the 4K video picture quality is excellent. I am running a bsic 5.1 configuration at the moment and am looking at HEOS speakers so I can run a remote zone in the kitchen. At this price point I believe this is an excellent value.

Pros: Audyssey speaker calibration Excellent sound Price

    Cons:

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This receiver replaces an 11 year old Marantz. I "upgraded" for an HDMI compatible receiver to use with a new TV purchase. I am very happy with this receiver. Set-up was easy although I gave up having it output Zone 1 video to my old TV through a single non-composite video cable. I now have it hooked up to a spare computer HDMI monitor until the new TV arrives. I am running a 7.1 setup with two front height speakers and a Zone 3 output to a switcher that allows output to a selection of other rooms and patio. I can only play and output one source but I prefer having the front height speakers over being able to output a second source. The Audessey automatic setup worked well for my main PSB front and height bookshelf speakers and my in-wall Polk surround speakers. The Audyssey set-up of my PSB sub-woofer was less than great and I spent quite some time playing with level and cross-over but have it sounding pretty good now. This receiver definitely highlights the flaws in my PSB subwoofer and leaves me wanting to add a second compact sub in the future. I have it hardwired to my home ethernet and am happy with the speed and quality of online audio. The stereo output is as good as the old Marantz and the multichannel output is superior. When I started planning on a new TV I had my eye on the Denon AVR3300W. When the X4300H came on sale for only $200 more I jumped on it and I am very happy I did. The value to performance is fantastic.

Pros: Great multichannel sound. Very clear and understandable voice while watching Dolby and DTS movies.

Cons: Highlights the flaws in my old subwoofer but it is hard to blame that on the receiver.

Great receiver, a huge step up from my Sony STR-DN1070 I had before. Denon's Audyssey is amazing! I've never known a receiver to auto calibrate so well as this one does. It really made me realize what a step above my prior unit it is. All the other features are great too, and will provide support for when I plan to expand my current 5.1 setup. Also the Denon app is a great feature that is pretty convenient for when you don't feel like having the remote nearby for volume control or adjusting other system settings.

Pros: Features, audio control in every detail, Audyssey, etc.

Cons: A bit deeper than the Sony it replaced, and setup takes a bit to get it all right. But I'd consider these extremely minor and the only thing I could knock the receiver for.

It all started with wanting to update a 10 year Denon 3300 receiver that is still working, but I felt it did not have good separation of sound in movies & I wanted to also have a Bluetooth connection to be able to play my phone music & apps. I started with a lower model, but I quickly noticed that I like more power & higher volumes, so Crutchfield was very gracious in allowing me to upgrade to this Denon AVR-X4300H & I'm so happy they did! It's a real pleasure to do business with Crutchfield & their buyer friendly policies! I returned the favor with more confidence to make more purchases & also bought a pair of front tower speakers, Monitor Audio 8. What a great combination of quality sound & power they make together!!! Yes, this new Denon unit has much better separation of sound than my older Denon receiver & I'm so glad I decided to upgrade! It's a pleasure to hear different sounds coming out of different speakers, which gives a more immersive experience while watching good quality movies. I Love the Bluetooth connection to my iPhone, the quality sound, the clean volume power, the easy set-up, the easy connections to other equipment via HDMI, Audyssey's auto balancing of speaker volumes & it's intuitive design. This model gives so many choices. It's an overall great receiver value!

    Pros: Everything about it!

Cons: Unit can get hot at higher volumes, so purchased a separate receiver fan, that sits on top, is silent & efficient, so no more worries about overheating.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have several Denon products and they are my supplier of choice, although I am just an average guy and not an audiophile. This was so much easier to set up than any before. The Audyssey setup identifies the speakers being tested on screen so you can be sure which you are listening to. If even shows if you have polarity reversed (which was the case in the home theater in our new home). The back panel has a very organized and convenient layout. The onscreen menus are much easier to use than in the past and its very obvious how to set it. The Ethernet (internet) connection recognized itself automatically, so it seems that Denon has really fine-tuned the operation, setup and use of this unit. I have a 7.1 system but will be adding ceiling speakers. One thing I really like is that they have improved the sound over older units so that I get surround w/o high volume and voice is very clear w/o having to optimize the center channel. I do not use any remotes or other features as I got it specifically for the theater. I ordered the higher wattage output to be sure I hade enough power.

Pros: Setup a breeze. Intuitive remote.

For the past six years I owned the Pioneer SC-25 7.1 rceiver and was happy with it until 4K gained in momentum. I bought a 4K tv last summer and a Panny UB-900 4K player and had been using the main out to go o the tv and the audio only to go to the SC-25. This worked OK but decided to get the Denon x4300H and after hooking it up all I can say is WOW! After running the Multi EQ the sound is night and day better than my old setup. There's just so much more one can do with this receiver. The free HEOS-1 speaker that came with it sounds terrific too once hoked up to wi-fi. I don't own the best speakers but they now have a whole new life about them. And with the ability to bi-amp the front mains the audio is even better. Setting up this receiver is easy and it can be twisted and turned to suit your tastes. Yes, there are better more powerful receivers but for me this was the right decision. It was well worth the cost over keeping the SC-25. Never thought my old setup could sound any better; wow was I wrong!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This replaced a ten year old Denon AVR2805 since it lacked HDMI and 4 K pass through. The setup of the receiver via prompts from the device allows relatively easy primary listening room setup. Using this as a 5.1 system with two additional zones is less well described and requires heading to the manual PDF file.Speaker balancing with included microphone was very easy and pleasing results were obtained. Using the HEOS built in takes some getting used to. The two phone apps that control it are not obvious to navigate and combining the use of the receiver with stand alone HEOS speakers is perplexing. Wish that it had one unified phone App to handle the receiver settings and controls with the Heos App incorporated, rather than two separate Apps. Harmony remote use is not completely supported in that there is not a third zone option, only the main and second zone. I am completely satisfied with the sound from the amplifiers and there is plenty of head space, never had it louder than can tolerate to recognize any distortion issues related to the receiver. There are more ways to input sound than I ever could have imagined just 5 years ago and I am looking into attaching a USB stick with most of my iTunes files after converting them to a version readable by the receiver. Tested this with a handful and the quality is good enough to satisfy me and the interface with the files on the tv screen is good as well. I look forward to "playing" with this and the HEOS speakers I added.

Pros: Great sound. Many Play back sources and options for output. Support for 4K and 3D.

Cons: Remote control is confusing and phone Apps need improved user interface/experience. HEOS control needs to be integrated into the phone app for the receiver rather than as separate app. Most documentation is online and not sent in the box.

Along with DTS:X decoding, the AVR-X4300H features DTS-HD Master Audio decoding and other DTS audio technologies.
Note: DTS:X & DTS Neural:X will require a firmware update.

Post Decoding Formats: The Denon AV receiver supports Dolby Surround, DTS Neural:X, and DTS Neo:6 (Music/Cinema) to enhance 2-channel and multichannel decoding formats.

    • Dolby Surround: Dolby Surround offers an enhanced cinema experience to your 2ch and multichannel movie soundtracks using your existing 5.1ch, 7.1ch or Dolby Atmos speaker setup. Dolby Surround enhances audio definition by improving the spatial dimension and overall audio definition of movie soundtracks. It does this by using four distinct surround zones that provide greater control over the exact placement of each detail in a movie sound track, so audio can be matched more accurately to the video on screen; this means more depth and greater realism for your movies. As a result, individual sounds are clearer and more distinct. It also improves the surround sound experience across the entire theater by widening the listening "sweet spot".
    • DTS Neural:X: DTS:X incorporates Neural:X, the latest spatial remapping technology from DTS, which provides a fully immersive output for all types of source content; this includes DTS bitstreams and non-encoded (PCM) data. Neural:X delivers a thrilling sense of immersive sound to your speaker layout regardless of the original source format. DTS Neural:X will require a firmware update.
    • DTS Neo:6: DTS Neo:6 is an advanced matrix decoder that takes any two-channel source (including television broadcasts, CDs and DVDs) and expands it into five or six channels. It also provides separate, optimized modes for stereo music materials and matrix surround motion picture soundtracks. DTS Neo:6 brings you a more revealing sound from ordinary stereo and a more expansive home cinema experience.

AURO-3D Upgrade ($199): Auro-3D is the next generation three-dimensional audio standard. It provides a realistic sound experience unlike anything before. By fully immersing the listener in a cocoon of life-like sound, Auro-3D creates the sensation of actually "being there". Thanks to a unique "Height" channel configuration, recorded acoustic reflections are reproduced by these speakers and are heard naturally due to the fact that sounds originate from around as well as above the listener. Once upgraded with the AURO-Codec Decoder ($199.00 cost), the AVR-X4300H is capable of decoding the original Auro-3D mix and playing back an Auro 9.1 or 10.1 channel configuration.

Audyssey Platinum: The AVR-X4300H features the Audyssey Platinum suite of powerful DSP features - including MultEQ XT32, Sub EQ HT, LFC (Low Frequency Containment), Dynamic Volume, and Dynamic EQ.

    • MultEQ XT32: Via the supplied measuring microphone, Audyssey MultEQ32 measures all the speakers in your home theater during setup, including the subwoofer, and then generates multiple high precision DSP room acoustic correction filters, which together provide smoothest and most natural tonal balance, regardless of the brand or model of the various speakers. Audyssey MultEQ32 incorporates more than ten thousand individual control points allowing finer details of the room's problems to be captured and corrected. Up to eight listening positions can be measured, configured, and recorded. MultEQ XT32 compensates for both time and frequency characteristics of the listening area based on "Audyssey Setup" measurement results. Selection is done from three types of compensation curves - Reference (default and recommended, L/R Bypass, Flat, and Off).
    • Sub EQ HT: Audyssey Sub EQ HT provides individual DSP tailoring of each subwoofer in a dual subwoofer setup, for deeper bass with improved definition, compared to a single subwoofer configuration.
    • LFC (Low Frequency Containment): Audyssey Low Frequency Containment uses advanced psychoacoustic algorithms to deliver a full range tonal balance, including deep bass, but without disturbing close-by neighbors or family members in other rooms, and features a multi-step adjustment that lets you dial in the amount of containment to your preference.
    • Dynamic Volume: Audyssey Dynamic Volume features advanced psycho-acoustic processing to deliver clear dialog and wide range sound at reduced volume levels so that you can enjoy theater-level clarity at whatever listening level you choose.
    • Dynamic EQ: Audyssey Dynamic EQ also features advanced DSP processing to deliver full range wide-band response, even at reduced volume levels. Dynamic EQ Reference Level Offset provides three offsets from the film level reference (5 dB, 10 dB, and 15 dB) that can be selected when the mix level of the content is not within the standard.

Denon Original Listening Modes: Denon's Original Listening Modes, combined with Dolby Digital/DTS processing, produce more realistic, powerful sound effects for your movie and music sound tracks based on the type of content and your home theater setup. You can choose from the following -

    • Rock Arena: For rock and popular music sources, this mode surrounds you with reflected sound of the kind you would hear at a live concert.
    • Jazz Club: This mode recreates the atmosphere of a live house where the ceiling is low and you are enveloped with rich doses of reflected sound.
    • Matrix: With this mode, you can add rich reflected sound to 2-channel stereo music sources where reflected sound is normally not audible.
    • Video Game: This mode is suited for achieving surround sound with video games..
    • Mono Movie: This mode is used when you listen to recorded monaural sound sources such as AM radio broadcasts or news programs from the center speaker.
    • Virtual: Enjoy surround effects using only the front speakers or set of headphones.
    • Multichannel Stereo: Left and right stereo channels are distributed to all the speakers so that stereo sound can be heard from all directions at any listening position.

Direct Listening Modes: The Denon AVR-X4300H offers two Direct Listening Modes which bypass the receiver's tone & DSP processing for higher sound quality performance. Direct Mode provides playback of 2ch or Multichannel audio in its original form, without any surround or tone processing. Pure Direct Mode goes a step further by turning off the receiver's display and analog video circuitry to minimize the possibility of any noised being added to the audio signal.

Audio Enhancements: The Denon AVR-X4300H receiver provides various audio enhancements to deliver a high-quality listening experience every time.

    • CINEMA EQ (Cinema Equalizer): The Cinema EQ function gently decreases the level of the extreme high frequencies, compensating for overly-bright sounding motion picture soundtracks. Select this function if the sound from the front speakers is too bright. This function only works in the Dolby Digital & DTS modes.
    • Compressed Audio Restorer: Compressed audio formats such as MP3, WMA (Windows Media Audio), and MPEG-4 AAC reduce the amount of data by eliminating signal components that are hard for the human ear to hear. The Restorer function generates the signals eliminated upon compression, restoring the sound to conditions near those of the original sound before compression. It also corrects the sense of volume of the bass to obtain richer sound with compressed audio signals.
    • Dynamic Range Compression (DRC): Motion picture soundtracks have tremendous dynamic range (the contrast between very soft and very loud sounds). For listening late at night, or whenever the maximum sound level is lower than usual, Compressing the dynamic range allows you to hear all of the sounds in the soundtrack with reduced dynamic range. DRC works when playing program sources recorded in Dolby Digital or DTS.
    • Center Spread: When using the receiver's Dolby Surround mode, the Center Spread function expands the center channel signal to left and right front speakers to create a wider frontal audio image for the listener. It is optimized and designed primary for playback of stereo music content.
    • Room Size: The receiver's audio output can be set to simulate the acoustics of a Small, Medium Small, Medium (default), Medium Large, or Large room environment. This setting is not an indication of the actual size of your listening area.

Level Adjustments: The AVR-X4300H provides the following level adjustments.

    • Source Level: This function adjusts the playback level of the currently selected input source's audio input. Use this feature if there are differences in the input volume levels between different sources. You can correct the playback level of the audio input from -12 to +12dB.
    • Dialogue Level & Control: You can adjust the output level (+/-12dB) to increase the dialogue output from the center channel. When listening to a DTS:X soundtrack, the Dialog Control feature adjusts the volume of dialog in movies and vocals in music, so voice can be heard more easily.
    • EQ Level: If you choose not to use the Audyssey MultEQ X32 auto calibration setup function, you can manually set the tonal balance and level for each frequency band of the receiver's 9-band EQ (63/125/250/500/1k/2k/4k/8k/16k Hz) for each connected loudspeaker.
    • Subwoofer Level: You can set the receiver's subwoofer output level (+/-12dB) independent from the other speaker levels and system's main volume.

Volume Settings: The AVR-X4300H offers the following volume settings.

    • Volume Scale: You can choose to display an Absolute volume scale (0-98) or Relative volume scale (-79.5 to 18dB).
    • Volume Limit: You can set a maximum volume level of 0, -10, or -20 dB to limit the receiver's total volume output.
    • Power On Level: You can define the volume setting that is active when the power is turned on (0, 1-98, -79 to +18dB, or Last)
    • Mute Level: You can set the amount of attenuation for the audio muting circuit; -40dB or -20dB below current volume, or full mute (sound turned off entirely).
    • Source Level: This function adjusts the playback level of the currently selected input source's audio input. Use this feature if there are differences in the input volume levels between different sources. You can correct the playback level of the audio input from -12 to +12dB.

Audio Outputs: The Denon AV receiver features color-coded binding-post speaker terminals, 11.2ch pre-outs, and a front-panel headphone jack.

    • Color-Coded Speaker Terminals: The receiver has binding-post terminals for all speaker connections. The binding-post terminals can accept bare wire, pin connectors, and banana plugs (single/dual). The receiver will accept speaker impedances of 4 to 16-ohm. The AV receiver comes with color-coded labels to easily identify which channel a speaker cable should be connected to. Since the speaker cables have labels in the same colors as the connectors on the AVR-X4300H's rear panel, there's no longer any confusion about which terminals they should be connected to.
    • 11.2Ch Pre-Outs: The AV receiver features 11.2ch pre-amp outputs (Front L/R, Center, Surround L/R, Surround Back L/R, Height 1 L/R, Height 2 L/R, and Dual Subs) for connection to external power amplifiers. The pre-outs are variable. For compatibility with dual subwoofer home theater systems, the AVR-X4300H features two discrete subwoofer outputs. With dual subwoofers, which can be placed in different parts of the room, you'll benefit from response averaging, which helps provide smoother and more detailed deep bass, compared to a conventional single subwoofer speaker system.
    • Headphone Jack: When headphones are plugged into the full-size 1/4" jack on the front panel, all the speakers are automatically muted.

    Video Section

HDMI 2.0a: Featuring eight HDMI inputs (including one conveniently located on the front-panel) and three HDMI outputs, the AVR-X4300H incorporates an advanced video section that features the latest HDMI 2.0a specification, including support for 4K/60 Hz Ultra-HD video, BT.2020 Wide Color Gamut, High Dynamic Range (HDR), 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling and 21:9 video pass-through, along with support for 3D content. The AVR-X4300H also features HDCP 2.2 compatibility, a requirement for 4K Ultra HD copy-protected content.

    • HDCP 2.2: All of the receiver's HDMI jacks support HDCP 2.2, which fully complies with the latest copyright protection standard for 4K video transmission.
    • 4:4:4 Color Subsampling: All of the receiver's rear-panel HDMI jacks support RGB, YCbCr 4:4:4, YCbCr 4:2:2, and YCbCr 4:2:0 color subsampling (@ 60Hz or 50Hz). With 4:4:4 color subsampling, luminance (brightness) and chroma (color) are sampled at the same rate; resulting in an RGB color palette as big as the video sampling rate for a video image with more colors, plus greater color accuracy and detail. The front-panel HDMI only supports 4K 60/50Hz using format YCbCr 4:2:0 only.
    • HDR (High Dynamic Range): HDR provides enhanced picture quality by simultaneously enabling greater detail for both the dark and bright parts of an image. HDR reproduces a greater dynamic range of luminosity or brightness levels, creating greater contrast. This increased contrast reveals the subtle nuances of the image, from detailed blacks and shadows to the brightest whites and colors, plus greater depth.
    • Wide Color Gamut (BT.2020): The BT.2020 color standard delivers a much wider color gamut and represents about 75% of the total visual color spectrum, while the current Rec. 709 color standard selected as the color space for HDTVs and early generation 4K Ultra HDTVs covers only 35% of the total visual color spectrum.
    • 21:9 Aspect Ratio: By supporting 21:9 aspect ratio, this receiver can show films recorded in the Cinema Scope format on your TV for a much more immersive video experience. When these types of films are viewed in the usual 16:9 ratio, you see black bars at the top and bottom of the screen; 21:9 eliminates these bars.

Note: Out of the box, the AVR-X4300H is only compatible with HDR10. Through a future firmware update (scheduled for October 2017), the unit will also support Dolby Vision and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) HDR formats.

Three HDMI Outputs: The two parallel HDMI outputs distribute the same video signal simultaneously to two separate displays, while the discrete HDMI output allows you to play a different audio/video source in another zone.

4K Video Upconversion: The Denon AV receiver's sophisticated video processor  provides upconversion from standard definition (480i/480p) and high definition (720p/1080i/1080p) sources to 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160 pixels), which lets you connect all your analog (composite/component) or digital (HDMI) video sources to the AVR-X4300H and then connect to your TV with just a single HDMI cable. Only the receiver's main HDMI output supports video upconversion.

Other HDMI Features: The Denon AVR-X4300H AV receiver's HDMI connectivity also offers 3D video pass-through, ARC (Audio Return Channel), Deep Color & x.v.Color support, as well as an auto LipSync function.

    • 3D Ready: The AVR-X4300H AV receiver supports 3D video pass-through (720p/1080p only) from connected 3D-compatible Blu-ray, games and broadcast devices to 3D-compatible HDTVs (all 3D components must be connected via HDMI). Special eyewear will be required for viewing 3D content.
    • ARC (Audio Return Channel): This feature of the AVR-X4300H's main HDMI monitor output allows audio to be sent from your compatible HDTV to the receiver through the same HDMI cable already being used to send audio and video to your HDTV. This eliminates the need for extra cables connected to your television.
    • Deep Color & x.v.Color Support: The AV receiver supports Deep Color and x.v.Color content, which can display a larger color range than standard-definition schemes. The result is a more lifelike, vibrant picture
    • LipSync: This function adjusts the delay between audio and video output. You can do this manually or have the receiver set the LipSync function automatically. When connected to a TV via HDMI the receiver automatically adjusts audio output timing (0-500ms) if the TV supports an automatic LipSync function. You can also manually delay the sound output up to 500ms to synchronize it with the video image.

HDMI Standby Pass-Through: When the AV receiver is in "Standby" mode and the HDMI Standby Pass-Through function is enabled, both audio/video streams from the receivers HDMI input will be output to your television, via the AV receiver's HDMI monitor output. Once the receiver is turned "On", only video will pass through the monitor output to your TV and the audio is directed to the receiver's speaker outputs.

    • HDMI Input: Selects the HDMI Input for which the HDMI Standby Pass-Through function is enabled.
    • Last: The HDMI Standby-Through function is activated on the input source selected at the time of setting the AV receiver to the "Standby" mode.

With AirPlay you also get to see song/artist information and album art via the receiver's on-screen menu (via HDMI).

Built-in Bluetooth: The Denon AVR-X4300H features built-in Bluetooth (version 2.1+EDR) with support for wireless music streaming (A2DP 1.2) and control (AVRCP 1.4). You'll be able to wirelessly connect to Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphones/tablets, Windows Phone/PC, Mac computers/laptops and other Bluetooth-enabled devices. Up to eight Bluetooth devices can be remembered by the AVR-X4300H, so family members as well as friends can enjoy their favorite tracks (only one device can be used at a time).

    • Music Streaming: You'll be able to wirelessly stream stored music and music apps from your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone/tablet, computer/laptop and more to the Denon receiver. In addition to support for the standard SBC Bluetooth audio codec, the AVR-X4300H offers support of AAC. By supporting AAC, the Denon receiver offers better audio performance of the music streamed from your Apple iPod/iPhone/Pad.

    • Song/Artist Info: Song/Artist information will displayed on the receiver's front-panel LCD or your HDMI-connected TV.
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Denon AV receiver.

    Multiroom Playback

HDMI Zone 2: The AVR-X4300H incorporates multi-zone HDMI audio/video distribution for Zone 2 with the inclusion of its HDMI matrix switching functionality. The receiver can send two different HDMI video feeds to two displays at the same time directly from the receiver (HDMI Zone 2 does not support upscaling). HDMI Zone 2 also supports 2ch PCM audio from the HDMI input source selected. The HDMI Zone 2 function is only compatible with the HDMI 1-7 input connectors. It is not compatible with the HDMI 8 input connector. The volume of HDMI Zone 2 will be controlled by your TV or additional receiver in Zone 2.

    • Compatible Sources: Compatible HDMI Zone 2 sources include the receiver's HDMI 1-7 inputs.
    • Incompatible Sources: The receiver's HDMI 8 input cannot be output to Zone 2. Analog audio/video signals cannot be sent to HDMI Zone 2. USB, Bluetooth, iPod/iPhone, AirPlay, Internet Radio, HEOS music apps, and DLNA sources cannot be output to HDMI Zone 2.

Audio/Video Zone 2: Zone 2 allows stereo audio/video playback of another A/V source connected to the receiver in another room of your home via stereo pre-out or speaker terminal output connections, as well as composite or component video. To enjoy a video source in Zone 2, you must connect the same video connection to your second display monitor as connected to your receiver for that particular source (there is no video-conversion for Zone 2). Zone 2 features either a pre-outs or speaker outputs, so you can use this receiver or a separate amp to power speakers in another room. When using the AVR-X4300H to power speakers in a second room of your home, the main zone is restricted to 7.1-channel. When using the receiver's pre-outs for the second room you need an additional amplifier in that room to power those speakers; the main Zone of the receiver remains 9.1-channel. The volume of Zone 2 can be controlled by the Denon receiver using either configuration or from your add-on amplifier when using the line-output.

    • Compatible Sources: Compatible Zone 2 sources include Analog audio/video inputs, HDMI audio (2ch PCM), Optical/Coaxial digital inputs (2ch PCM), AM/FM Tuner (cannot select different stations for each zone), USB (including iPod/iPhone), AirPlay, Bluetooth, Internet Radio (different network sources cannot be played back in multiple zones at the same time), HEOS music apps, DLNA/Media Server contents.
    • Incompatible Sources: DSD audio cannot be sent to Zone 2. Unfortunately, you cannot select USB and Network sources exclusively for each Zone. For example, if you select a network source for Zone 2 when a USB source is selected for the Main Zone, the input source in the Main Zone also switches to the same network source as Zone 2 (this scenario also includes Bluetooth).

Audio Only Zone 3: Zone 3 allows you to play a different stereo audio source connected to the receiver in a third room of your house. Zone 3 features either a pre-outs or speaker outputs so you can use this amp or a separate amp to power speakers in another room. When using the AVR-X4300H  to power speakers in a second and third room of your home, the second and third zones are restricted to mono operation and the main zone is limited to 7.1 channels. When using the receiver's pre-outs for the 3rd Zone, you need an additional amplifier in that room to power those speakers; the main Zone of the receiver remains 9.1-channel. The volume of Zone 3 can be controlled by the Denon receiver using either configuration or from your add-on amplifier when using the line-output.

    • Compatible Sources: Analog audio inputs, Optical/Coaxial digital inputs (2ch PCM), AM/FM Tuner (cannot select different stations for each zone), USB (including iPod/iPhone), AirPlay, Bluetooth, Internet Radio (different network sources cannot be played back in multiple zones at the same time), HEOS music apps, DLNA/Media Server contents.
    • Incompatible Sources: Analog video, HDMI audio/video, and DSD audio cannot be sent to Zone 3. Unfortunately, you cannot select USB and Network sources exclusively for each Zone. For example, if you select a network source for Zone 3 when a USB source is selected for the Main Zone, the input source in the Main Zone also switches to the same network source as Zone 3 (this scenario also includes Bluetooth).

All Zone Stereo Function: The All Zone Stereo function allows you to enjoy the AV receiver's Main Zone audio source in Zone 2 simultaneously (regardless of input audio signal types; analog or digital). During the All Zone Stereo mode, only the "Multi Ch Stereo" and "Stereo" sound modes can be selected. You will have independent volume control in each zone. All Zone Stereo mode is useful when you want to enjoy the same music at the same time in multiple rooms during a get together or party.

HEOS Wireless Multiroom: Built-in HEOS technology allows the AVR-X4300H to become part of the HEOS wireless multiroom system, allowing you to enjoy your favorite music throughout your home. Share music stored on your home network, Internet radio & online streaming services, plus the music library on your smartphone or source components connected to the receiver with multiple HEOS wireless speakers and other HEOS components throughout your house. And it's all controlled by the free HEOS app, installed on your Apple iOS (7.0+) or Android OS (2.3+) device. The app gives you instant multiroom audio control, meaning you can command music in every room from any device - play different music from different sources in every room, group several rooms together and play the same song.

    • Music: You can select which sources you want to listen to from the app. Choose from the receiver's connected sources (2ch PCM only), a variety of online music services and internet radio, plus the music library on your computer (DLNA) or iPhone/Android device, and even Bluetooth.
    • Rooms: From the app on your Apple iOS or Android device, you can select which rooms you want playing. You can play the same music in multiple rooms by grouping rooms together, or you can listen to a different source in each room.
    • Groups: You can join or group up to eight individual HEOS devices into a group that function as if they were a single speaker. The HEOS App is also flexible enough where you can create up to 16 Groups (2 HEOS products per Group).
    • Party Mode: You can easily group eight rooms together into Party Mode by using a "pinch" gesture.
    Notes:
    • The HEOS wireless multi-room sound system by Denon can support up to 32 HEOS products (sold separately) on a single wireless network.
    • When audio from a device connected to the receiver is played back in a multiroom application, only 2-channel PCM input from the HDMI, digital or analog terminals can be played back.

HEOS Link: The Denon AV receiver only supports a single HEOS music stream. If you desire a second HEOS music stream through the receiver's multizone output, you will need to connect the HEOS Link to one of the AV receiver's analog or digital inputs.

    Remote & App Control

AVR Remote App: The new Denon AVR Remote App lets you control the Denon AV receiver using your Apple (iOS 7.0) or Android (OS 4.0+) device. From this free app on your compatible Apple iOS or Android device, you'll be able to control the Denon AV receiver's basic functions; such as power, volume, input, surround modes, and other settings. You'll also be able to control separate Zones of the receiver, as well as  navigate the AV receiver's network and Internet content from the app. In addition, you get you get unique features likes a landscape orientation control screen for tablet devices, the ability to create playlists, and control over a Denon Blu-ray player.

    • Landscape Orientation Control Screen: With a landscape orientation control screen for tablet devices, you can easily browse and navigate through your network music services or personal digital music collection with ease, and at the same time view now-playing information and cover art all on a single screen.
    • Create Playlists: The app's playback screen allows you to easily build your own personal music playlists on the fly with the ability to Drag & Drop files into your queue, or tap to "Play Now", "Play Next", "Play Next and Replace Queue" or "Add to End of Queue". You can then save your queue as a playlist for easy recall.
    • Denon Blu-ray Player Control: The app allows control over Denon Blu-ray (DBT-xx13 series) that are connected to the AV receiver via HDMI.

Note: This AV receiver is not compatible with last year's older Denon Remote App.

Multibrand Remote Control + HDMI-CEC: The AVR-X4300H comes with an IR wireless remote control that can operate the receiver as well as other remote control capable components. It is pre-programmed with control signals for other brand products; including Blu-ray/DVD players, TVs, satellite/cable boxes, and SACD/CD players.

HDMI-CEC: When you make an HDMI connection with a TV or Blu-ray player compatible with the AVR-X4300H's HDMI control function, you can perform the operations from the AVR-X4300H's remote control; Power off, Switching of audio output devices, Switching of audio input devices, Volume adjustment, and Playback functions.

Smart TV Control: When you connect the AVR-X4300H to your Smart TV, you have the option of controlling the AVR-X4300H via the TV's remote control which lets you select an input, adjust the volume and choose the surround sound mode. The receiver and your TV must be connected via HDM with the HDMI-CEC function activated on both components.

Custom Integration: The AVR-X4300H is part of Denon's IN-Command series line-up of receiver, which is Denon's certification to custom installers that the receiver has advanced connectivity and control features often required for custom home integration and theater applications using premium control systems. These features include IP control, a RS232C jack for use with whole house control systems, remote in/out IR command control, and a 12V trigger output.

The exclusive on-screen Setup Assistant provides easy setup instructions, leading the user step-by-step to optimize critical settings for the best possible sound and video quality with the rest of your system. The on-screen menu and setup assistant can be output to your TV via HDMI only. If you connect the receiver to your television via only composite or component video, you will need to use the AV receiver's front-panel display for menu and source adjustments.

Note: Initial setup requires that the receiver be connected to your TV via HDMI for display of the on-screen menu. Many of the receiver's setup functions can only be found via the on-screen menu and not the front-panel display.

Quick Select: On the AVR-X4300H's front-panel, you'll find four Quick Select buttons that let you quickly choose from the most popular input sources; the ergonomically designed remote also includes Quick Select function buttons. With Quick Select, the AVR-X4300H remembers not only your preferred inputs but also your preferred audio settings, so you can enjoy precisely tailored sound with each one.

Gapless Playback: Many live and classical albums have no gaps in the music. Gapless playback ensures that there are no pauses between audio files. This provides playback with no interruptions, the way it was meant to be heard. Compatible with WAV and FLAC music files via USB or DLNA.

Keyword Search: You can also search Internet Radio, USB, and DLNA content using keyword searches from the AV receiver's on-screen menu and remote control.

Input Name & Delete: You can change the display name (up to 8 characters) of a selected input source. If an input isn't being used, you can delete it from the display so you don't have to scroll past it when you change sources.

Slide Shows/Picture View: You can play back still image (JPEG) files stored on a USB memory device or media server and pictures on Flickr website as a slide show. The display time can also be set. You can also play back music and a favorite picture at the same time via USB, Internet Radio, or Media Server.

Sleep Timer + Auto Standby: The Denon AV receiver features a programmable Sleep Timer and Auto Standby function. The Sleep Timer allows you to automatically set the power to standby after a predetermined amount of time has passed; set the sleep timer up to 120 minutes in 10 minute increments. The unit enters Standby mode automatically when no commands are sent to the unit for the set time (15/30/60 minutes). Before it enters the standby mode, "Auto Standby" is displayed on the front-panel display of this unit and the on-screen menu.

ECO Mode: This receiver is equipped with an ECO Mode function that allows you to enjoy music and movies while reducing the power consumption during use, Eco mode adjusts the maximum power available according to the volume level selected to reduce power consumption.

Great price, 9.2 surround, good brand, good power, all the formats, highly rated. [ Jeremy  Oct 17, 2017 ]
I previously order a Denon AVR-X2400H which I will be returning. The AVR-X2400H does not permit HEOS broadcast to a HEOS Amp from digital sources, only analog, according to HEOS Support. The AVR-X3400H and AVR-X4300H do permit HEOS broadcast to a HEOS Amp from an HDMI source. While Crutchfield Tech Support (JT and Jax) were very helpful, it took HEOS Support to sort this one out. [ James  Oct 16, 2017 ]
The Denon X4300 has a wide selection of features similar to the Marantz SR7011 at an affordable price. [ P  Oct 15, 2017 ]

I chose this because of the great price at this time and its many features including the 9 channels of amplification, Dolby Atmos & DTSX capability, 4 k pass thru and I have owned Denon receivers in the past and it's time to update so I can route my LG OLED 4k tv through this. My 4th Denon receiver. Nothing wrong with my Denon 4310. I am upgrading only to take advantage of technical advancements in the 7 years I have owned the 4310. More HDMI inputs, Bluetooth and HDMI 2.2, as well as new sound tech. Amazing price, because of new models coming which are about the same tech except HEOS which I do not need. Already have house wide Sonos system which I love. [ Brian S  Aug 27, 2017 ]

After research, waiting for the Denon X4400H (2018 version) with its minor upgrades and expected price increase really didn't make sense. Got this unit for half original MSRP price with the yearly close-out! [ Brian  Aug 21, 2017 ]
Price vs Features! I've been looking at this AVR-X4300H to replace my aging and partially defective Onkyo receiver. Given the numerious reports of poor Onkyo customer service I have decided to give Denon a try. [ SCOTT  Aug 20, 2017 ]

Needed an upgrade to have ATMOS and DTS:X. Initially looked at the x3300, but then realized I could easily add 2 more speakers to have a 9.1 setup. Also this model has more preamp outputs. [ David  Aug 17, 2017 ]

Been waiting for a price break on this for some time. I'm a big fan of Denon receivers and I've owned three. This is the fourth. [ M  Aug 13, 2017 ]
The Scott and Jason at the Harrisonburg store recommended this receiver for my 4K Samsung TV and Klipsch speakers set up. By the way all purchased from Crutchfield based on Scotts' and Jason's guidance and recommendations. I missed the Denon sale last year at this time as we were in Alaska for three month, So I waited a year for this sale. [ william  Aug 13, 2017 ]
Is a great gear for HT fans. This was the best sold by Denon last year and now, with this price becomes for me in the best purchase this year! The new model is almost the same, just add HEOS included in gear, a feature I don´t need. So very happy with my purchase. [ R  Aug 13, 2017 ]

Have been a Denon customer for many years and have always been impressed with the quality of their products. Only downside is their remotes could be upgraded, no back lighting. Hopefully this receiver doesn't go on sale in three months like the 4100 did I bought last year !!! [ Warren  Jan 06, 2017 ]
Bigger than what I wanted but has HEOS built into the receiver and the year-end offer was decent. This thing has enough inputs to hopefully last more than a couple of years. [ Bryan  Dec 31, 2016 ]
Bought this to replace my Pioneer SC-25. I own a Panosonic DMP UB-900 4k Bluray player and have an Oppo 203 4k player arriving tomorrow. The 4300 has the features that I need most and hopefully it will live up to what is being said about it. [ Mark  Dec 31, 2016 ]
Appears to be a quality receiver with everything you could possibly need for home theater. [ Scott  Dec 19, 2016 ]
I have owned several Denon receivers and look forward to the new 4K home theater experience. Based on many years experience with Crutchfield, I trust their reviews and support. [ Thomas  Dec 03, 2016 ]
Upgrade from Denon 4802 receiver. 9 channel amplification. Audyssey Platinum. [ John  Dec 03, 2016 ]
Mostly, the HDMI connections. I have 2 blu-ray players, 1 DVD player, plus 4 other devices that input HDMI. My current older Denon Receiver doesn't allow two blu-ray players, one has to be totally disconnected for other to work. Now I can try bi-amp the front and have 5.1.2 plus also zone-2 stereo. Also, this one will pass HDMI audio to both main TV/projector and zone-2 TV when amps are turned off. Your advisor "Josh" told me I can have two blu-ray player HDMI inputs and switch between them. [ William  Dec 02, 2016 ]
Updated an older denon AV receiver which was not HDMI compatible. This also allowed HEOS multi room speaker support and 9.1 surround sound. [ david  Nov 30, 2016 ]
I have had really good luck with Denon products in the past and I hope this one will prove the same. The 3 year parts and labor warranty is also a plus. [ Jared  Nov 30, 2016 ]
Denon is known for making good quality AV receivers, I am looking forward to my 1st Denon receiver [ JUSTIN  Nov 27, 2016 ]
Features, HEOS and Atmos. [ Paul  Oct 10, 2016 ]

    16 questions already asked

Ray, I am not certain on this. Perhaps a call to Denon Sppory will answer your questions. Tony Y [ ROGER A  Oct 19, 2017 ]
Ray I have not seen anything like that in the manual. Each channel has its own positive and negative speaker connections. But you might want to telephone DenonUSA and double check with them. [ Jeffrey  Oct 18, 2017 ]
I recommend that you read the aged 4300h manual found on the demon website. The link to manuals is at the bottom of the main page. [ Michael  Sep 02, 2017 ]
It does have several 2-channel inputs, but I have to crank the volume way up when I listen that way, on headphones for example, and directing it to the Zone 2 output and a headphone amp, the volume was too low. As for five-channel inputs, the 4300 doesn't have those. [ TERENCE GW  Sep 02, 2017 ]
If you want to use powered Bluetooth speakers as your surround channels, it's definitely an option. You'll need BT speakers that support stereo left/right pairing and they will need to be powerful in order to keep up with the speakers that are powered directly by the Marantz. [ Ryan  Sep 08, 2017 ]  Staff
Yes, it does support the pass-through of Dolby Vision [ John  Aug 29, 2017 ]
Currently it doesn't, but it's supposed to be getting an update to allow Dolby Vision support as well as Hybrid Log Gamma support! [ Brandon  Aug 28, 2017 ]
Denon has stated they will be releasing an update that will support DV. [ Mark  Aug 28, 2017 ]
No issues with any tv provider as long as they have an HDMI out. You take that from the box to the Denon Tv in HDMI. All your HDMI video sources go to the Denon then you have 1 HDMI from the Denon out to your TV. I'd your TV supports HDMI ARC then the HDMI out from the Denon to the TV will also provide sound. [ Eric  Aug 26, 2017 ]
I have directv and it works great. I don't see any reason why it would not work with dish. You can't beat this price! [ Jerry  Aug 26, 2017 ]
No I'm afraid that wouldn't be an option with the Denon AVR-X4300H. The built-in HEOS technology allows you to "share" audio with other Denon HEOS components throughout your home--but for surround sound playback in the "main" room, all the speakers would have to be wired. For more details or to discuss further, please feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (888.955.6000) or online chat. [ Larry  Aug 25, 2017 ]  Staff
The Denon is 9 channels so, it can do 7.1 in the main zone and power a pair of speakers in a second zone at the same time. Because the Denon is 4 ohm stable per channel, you can wire two pairs of conventional 8 Ohm home speakers, in parallel, to the 8th & 9th channels. This means, you could power the 8 Ohm outdoor pair and the 8 Ohm GYM pair without adding an external amp but these pairs would play the same source at all times. For additional assistance and personalized recommendations, feel free to contact the Crutchfield A/V Design Group: https://www.crutchfield.com/Institutional/diy.aspx [ Ryan  Aug 23, 2017 ]  Staff
There are no L/R audio out jacks, also known as Line Out, that are designed for connection to a cassette deck. [ Christopher  Aug 19, 2017 ]
The HEOS system can be transmitted to the multi-room outputs from the AVH-X4300H receiver. However, you would not be able to select different music content for each zone; they would all play the same music selection from within the HEOS app. For more details or to discuss further, please feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (888.955.6000) or online chat. Thanks! [ Larry  Aug 22, 2017 ]  Staff
From the rear of the antenna to the front edge of the dials. The manual show 389 mm total depth. [ Anthony  Aug 22, 2017 ]
Hey Brian, the depth measurement does include the dials. [ Daryl  Aug 17, 2017 ]
I measured the depth my AVR-X4300H that I bought earlier this year (2017) and I see 13 1/8 inches on the main unit. Including dials and back connectors is less than 16 inches. [ Charles  Aug 17, 2017 ]
Yes the overall dimension of 16 1/8" is from the front dials to where the power cord would be able to bend. [ Rick  Aug 17, 2017 ]
I have it in a cabinet and have never heard a fan nor knew it had one. So it is either extremely quiet or non existent. [ david  Aug 14, 2017 ]
I sit 10feet away and I've never heard the fan. I hear it from our cable box and game systems, and even hear my external hard drive running, but not the receiver fan. [ Patrick  Aug 14, 2017 ]
As far as I know, the fan runs all the time, but you cannot hear it at all, not even up close. Now, I have never really stressed the amps as I use outboard separates for the main channels. I do use the internals for the Atmos speakers, but they never run really loud. I think that, even if you run it hard, you will not hear the fan. This a very fine unit, and you won't be disappointed. It's also a great price as this model is being discontinued. [ Joel  Aug 14, 2017 ]
Am afraid my answer won't be very satisfying. I have not hear any fan noise at all. It is enclosed in a wall unit behind a glass door, but I haven't heard any fan even with the door open. Mine does not get that much use because it is mainly used for the 55" TV audio, and I don't watch TV all that often. It is not on all the time, only when I am sending TV audio, Sonos, Apple audio. or internet audio its direction. Hence whatever fan noise may be drowned out by the actual content. It's a good system, but it has so many bells and whistles that I will never tap into all of its capability. It's rather complicated, and I am a techie, but am also at the age where I am not interested in learning every nuance of every new electronic toy I own. [ John  Aug 14, 2017 ]
I've never heard a fan. I have a chair that is right next to the receiver and in all this time, I've never heard a fan noise. [ Frank  Aug 14, 2017 ]
It would be through the Bluetooth on the receiver which can connect with 8 Bluetooth connections. [ Gary  Jul 17, 2017 ]
Not directly. If your headphones do not come with a transmitter you can buy an inexpensive "Bluetooth Transmitter" to accomplish what you want. [ James  Jul 17, 2017 ]
It comes with Bluetooth/Wi Fi antennas that you connect to the back so I guess so. I am going to buy some Bluetooth headsets an see. [ BARTLEY  Jul 17, 2017 ]
Sorry. The manual dose not say that wireless headphone are not supported. You might be able to get a wireless USB drive connecter. Richard C. [ Richard  Jul 17, 2017 ]
I run two HDMI monitor outs to the same tv. One is hdr, one regular 4K. I just have to switch tv imputs to toggle back and forth. This receiver does a great job of making its own settings. [ Earl  Jun 24, 2017 ]
Ben, I haven't tried this but I believe the 4K handshake on the high-speed HDMI port is separate and distinct from the low-speed HDMI port. Roger Y [ ROGER A  Jun 23, 2017 ]
is there a chance you will have no problem ... yes, however when HDCP handshakes on one input and not the other start getting involved you never be too sure and i cant give you a definate answer cause I dont have your TV. If I were you i would use one HDMI and use all the EASY to use picture settings. You can set picture options different per input. This receiver is AWESOME! seriously simple to use. [ jeremy  Jun 23, 2017 ]

There are 11 connections but only 9 will be amped at once. You can reassign the last 6 speaker terminals as zone 2 and or zone 3 if not doing full atmos e.g. doing a 5.2.4 and 2 in zone 2. You will need an external amp connected to a preout and then tell receiver which speakers are on an external amp. Front would be best, actually LCR should ideally be on the same amp. This well also give the other channels more power to pool from. Hope this helps. [ Martin  Oct 07, 2016 ]
