With massive power for an impressive eleven channels, the Denon AVR-X6300H gives you super-flexible home theater and multi-room options, on top of the most immersive video and sound available. This beast of a receiver works perfectly with the latest 4K TVs and Blu-ray players. It even upscales HD and standard definition video to 4K. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X deliver realistic, multidimensional surround sound that puts you in the middle of the action. Stream music from different sources and enjoy high-resolution music in your living room, or in any room of your house thanks to built-in HEOS technology.
With built-in HEOS technology, the AVR-X6300H can be easily integrated into a wireless multi-room audio system. Stream music to HEOS wireless speakers in different rooms, and control each room's speakers independently with the free HEOS app. The app lets you control playback, browse music sources, and select which rooms you want to use. Play the same music throughout your home, or listen to something different in each room. You can play music from your own personal library, internet radio, and popular streaming services like Pandora®, Spotify®, and Tidal, just to name a few.
The AVR-X6300H's eleven-channel amplifier gives you extra flexibility to expand your system into other rooms of your house. In your living room, you can have up to a nine-channel surround sound system, or 7.1.2-channel Atmos system, and you'll still have two leftover amplifier channels you can reassign to power a set of speakers outdoors or in another room. If you're happy using fewer channels in your home theater, this receiver can power speakers in two additional zones. Or the extra height channels can be used to bi-amp a pair of compatible front speakers for more powerful sound. A "Zone 2" HDMI output lets you watch video from two separate sources in your living room and a second room.
The AVR-X6300H's Wi-Fi lets you access your own digital music library through your home network, and Bluetooth lets you stream anything you like from your phone or tablet. Tune into internet radio stations from around the world with vTuner, or play custom content with Pandora®, Spotify® Connect, or SiriusXM. This powerful receiver even offers convenient playback of several different high-resolution audio formats through the front-panel USB port or a networked computer. Denon's Compressed Audio Restorer boosts the sound quality of MP3s and other digital music files, so you get the best sound from any music source you choose.

Great power and ease of use for multiple zones
Love the new 6300H. installed it a week ago and it is doing everything you could need from one AV receiver. Replaced a 4 year old 4000 that was having overheating issues shutting down every couple of minutes. The app is really cool when it is working correctly and the Heos took little work to understand, but now it all sounds great and I can light up the whole house (bedroom, den, kitchen and deck) with the same music and they all can play at volumes too loud to talk over! Awesome
Pros: no more pre-amps for zone 2 and 3
Cons: cost twice as much as previous model
The X6300H is the most expensive receiver I've ever purchased, even with the discount. I still own a Denon AVR-X4000, and a 3808CI (both purchased at discounts when replaced by newer models). I've had the X6300H for about 2 weeks, replacing the X4000 in my media closet for my best speakers (B&W 804 D2 mains) and LG UHD TV. I expected the X6300H to sound excellent, and it does. What surprised me is how good the video processing is, especially upconversion of everything to 4K resolution. The X6300H does appear to run a little warmer than the X4000 did (the cooling fans for my media closet seem to be running more often, when the ambient air temperature rises above 88 F). The initial setup was a breeze. I have not used all the features of the 6300H, but do find the Denon 2016 app for iOS to be useful to see what is going on (since the 6300H display is hidden in the media closet in an adjacent room), although occasionally the app interface is confusing or doesn't seem to work as I expected. Thus far, I'm very pleased with the performance of the Denon AVR-X6300H and expect to get many years of listening and viewing pleasure.
Pros: Easy to set up, high quality audio and video playback, many newer audio modes including Dolby ATMOS.
Cons: Runs a little warmer than previous Denon AVRs I own, expensive.
This unit is fantastic! I hear sounds in movies that I never heard with my old Yamaha receiver. Discounted, you can't go wrong. Get it while you can.
Pros: Excellent power Great value Room correction is top notch Crutchfield service, Rusty was very helpful.
Cons: My wife won't let my buy more speakers to utilize the full 11.2 potential.
Everything needed to deal with your Home AV. Wealth of connections and all the features I needed at a very reasonable price.
Pros: Excellent unit at great price. No major difference between 6300 and 6400. Boatload of features and connections. For bi-ampers, yes it does.
Cons: Con. I am old school so the premise that online operation manuals are OK is BS. Quick setup guide will work if you have no need to adjust anything, but at this price point and feature set you will need more info. (downloading 300+pages is not cool). Otherwise, I see no trouble ahead and I can't stress enough that Crutchfield has excellent product info online describing the unit.
easy setup. great sound.
This is a great receiver and it produces the power your system needs... I have used 2400H but wasn't exactly the one my system needed... I upgraded to 6300H and this works great and produces impressive experience... If you are planning to expand your home theater from less to more speakers then go bigger and get the 6300H... Has Aero 3d... Something definitely worth it!!
Pros: Easy to setup, good design, produces great sound, and better looking remote*
Cons: Backlight on the remote is a must have feature... Denon remotes are lacking in that aspect, otherwise it's a great buy from Cf!!
Great AVR, would recommend to anyone. Loads of features.
Pros: Great all around AVR
Cons: UI could be a little more explanatory
fantastic AVR,easy to set up and has most any imput you will ever need. This Denon replaces an old sony with only 3 hdmi imputs and there is no comparison.I love the crisp clean sound and all the power it has.So far the extreme heat I was worried about only happens if you really push it for long periods of time.Watching a tv show under normal conditions there isn't any problem.I left it on for over 12 hours and it was only warm to the touch.Very impressed!
Pros: lots of imputs plus a phono imput, power, and great price
I am a longtime Denon user (AVR 5700 (2002-2006 built in rack system and stayed with the house), AVR 4806ci (2006-2018). Changed AVR's for 4K pass-through and DD Atmos and DTS-X sound. I added in-ceiling speakers for the top front (Polk 80 F/X-RT worked great with Polk 700LS for surround back). Using the AVR-6300H in 9.1 channel with bi-amp setting for the front L/R (B&W Nautilus 803). The Audyssey MultEQ recognized the Polk 80's as large speakers and I was surprised by the amount of content the sound designers applied to those channels. The quality of the sound for movies and music is excellent. Better than the sound from the 4806ci which was always compelling. Playing music files through Bluetooth from my phone to Multichannel stereo sounds great and adds a new dimension. Haven't tried any hi-res music files but I will since this player is capable of playing them and my McIntosh/Harbeth/Clearaudio stereo system is not. Firmware for DTS-X was already in place and have not upgraded to Auro 3D. My recommendation is to buy the X6300H for the price or the X6400H unless you need the extra channels provided by the new X8500H. Thank you Denon and Crutchfiled for the products and services you provide.
Pros: Does everything I needed for Home Theater
This X6300H receiver replaced a 6 year old Denon. The newer version of Audyssey smoothed out the sound in my room, Highs not as harsh. The bass response is much more powerful and controlled, I get tighter, richer sounding bass. Overall this receiver provides much better dynamic response and sound with excellent control of the drivers. Very happy with this purchase.
Pros: Dynamic response Smooth, clear sound Bass control Ease of setup
The best bang for your buck. I bought this for a 7.1.4 because I wanted an atmos setup and all I can say is wow! Very easy to set up and it sounds amazing. I bought this as a suggestion from the crutchfield team and they couldn't have been more right.
Pros: Sound, Price and ease of setup
Great product. Build quality is great and sound quality as well.
It brings out the best of a 7.1.4 sound system. I am amazed at how distortion free the sound is getting these days. The Auro 3D upgrade is a must if you do alot of TV from cable, as it seems to make voices predominant when they should be. Well worth the upgrade price. While this hasn't the elegance of the Yamaha Aventage series, it has a lot going for it. I am up to date with the tech. Very pleased overall, and for the price, you can't beat it! This model has HD Radio which is nice for classical music so you can find out what you are listening to. Denon did very well here. I have no regrets!
Pros: Small footprint; Powerful amp; Very simple and intuitive initial set-up.
Cons: It does not have 13 channels. Well maybe next time. Electronic display is not as colorful as other brands.
I was a little bit hesitant to buy this receiver after great experiences with several Yamaha receivers but, Denon had the features I was looking for this time. I was primarily interested in a Dolby Atmos/DTS:X receiver that didn't require any external amplifiers to run a 7.1.4 system. When I initially set up the receiver, I wasn't thrilled with the sound; It didn't sound as clear and bright as the Yamaha RX-A1020 it was replacing. This changed as soon as I ran Audyssey setup. The sound in my living room completely changed. I'm using Audyssey's "Flat" setting and it sounds great. Star Trek Beyond in Dolby Atmos was phenomenal. My only complaints with the receiver are that it runs very hot and the remote control is terrible. I bought an Aircom T9 to help keep the receiver cool and my Harmony Elite remote means I rarely use the original remote.
Pros: Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, HD Radio, and 11 amplifier channels!
Cons: Runs very hot and the remote control is terrible.
This drives like a Cadillac. looks good, easy to set up and power to spare. I would highly recommend as it is worth every penny!
Pros: easy set-up, powerful and heavy duty. versatile
Hey what can I say but WOW !! This AVR has such smooth and clear power . I tried several other avr brands with the same power but Denon was the clear winner in my opinion. By the way thanks Crutchfield for being patient with me as I'm very picky and returned 2 other brands before settling on this unit. Hey what are you waiting for??...Get it today!!!
A very good Receiver! I am really enjoying the Dolby Atmos and DTS X from Movies. It does an excellent job of taking older movies and making them sound great as well. It was very easy to set up, even inexperience people would find it easy to do. I have owned Denon products before and honestly I don't plan on switching. They just make good stuff! The only thing I was to wish for is HDMI 2.1 , but no one has it at this point. HDMI 2.1 isn't going to be fully implemented until 2020 from what I have read.
Crutchfield is the best. I always, always end up ordering from Crutchfield. To the point that I don't really consider anywhere else anymore. Excellent, excellent information, which would make me want to order from Cructhfield anyway. But the prices are always at least as good as anyone else, the shipping is fast, and the customer care is top notch. This Denon AVR-X6300H is replacing a 5 year old Denon 3313i. I was always happy with the 3313, but the Heos capability was something that solved some new things I wanted to do. The Echo connectivity being one. Doing more than turning on the main zone automatically through the Echo seems to be a bit more involved than I expected. Basic stuff was simple thought. Still glad I did it and getting more complex commands set up will make it WELL worth it.
Pros: Great sound. Echo connectivity. Powerful. Love the new Denon Android App.
Cons: It has always annoyed me that Denon will not down-convert an HDMI input signal to a component output. Either you have to run a component input AND an HDMI input from the device, or you have to run an HDMI output cable. Simple unless it means getting in the attic like in my case.
Let me start with the customer service. The ordering, follow through and arrival of equipment was an extremely smooth process and very much appreciated. My only reason for the 4 stars is due to not fully dabbling with all features on this receiver as of yet. I have a home theater pushing a 7.2.4 surround and the sound is amazing and I am extremely pleased. I have used the airplay feature which is very easy to use and have not used HEOS. Which on my things to do. The setup was extremely easy to follow and the items in the box for assist in cabling set up was great. I have had this receiver for almost two weeks but in all fairness I am a huge Denon fan. I previously had an Integra but will never leave the Denon family again. Also using an older Oppo BDP-93 which the Denon process bitstream out of the blu ray player in order to play Blu-rays in Atmos flawlessly. So before you consider or think you have to buy a new blu ray player immediately give it shot. Looking forward to continue learning to learn my new receiver.
Pros: Enough Power for all in wall and cieling speakers (Klipsch) and two Subs also Klipsch.
Cons: All fairness have not played with system enough to list any.
Overall very impressed. It says it's 140 watts per channel however I'm not sure I believe it. It can get loud but not nearly as loud as my 28 year old 120watt kenwood. The HEOS app is awesome and truly can take control of the receiver without having to turn the TV on. I wish it had a USB on the back side. Other people have claimed it had a hum or background noise. I can detect no hum. Its is a very clean amplifier.
Pros: Great control options. great app for your phone / smart device
Cons: Disappointed in the power output. Not convinced it's really 140 watts RMS per channel. Sounds more like 40 watts RMS. wish it had a USB port on the back. even the smallest USB drive will not fit in the front with the door shut.
I am extremely impressed with this AVR. It has an abundance of crisp clean power with power to spare. It shines at low power levels just as well as it does at high power levels.
Pros: Responsiveness, Power, Options
Cons: Internet radio could be better but I haven't found any other AVR that is better than this
I upgraded from a Denon AVR-2809CI receiver so that I could have the 4K Pass-through. Also, I have speakers in 3 other rooms which I have been using a switch to control. My Crutchfield advisor mentioned this can support 3 Zones which has been working well for me. I never had any troubles with my older Denon which was at least 7 years old. The new unit seems to be of similar build quality.
Sound crisp and clear Distortion very little Would recommend this reciever Product support is excellent Bi amped front klipsch 83's , 15"klipsch sub, rd75's rear, klipsch center. Great sound Replaced pioneer elite tx54. This was a great reciever, but outdated with inputs Will recommend crutchfield for audio purchases for friends and family Refreshing to see integrity within businesses
Pros: Crutchfield The team at Crutchfield is terrific. This is the customer service that I expect. I will not hesitate to purchase other items from this company. They sold and supported the item I purchased. It wasas they said it would be. Excellent reciever. Integrity is so refreshing to find Thank you
Cons: None other than it would be grat if there wereno cost involved lol
I have used Denon receiver's for 13 years this one is by far the most advanced I am very happy with this new technology the ability to install the HEOS application has allowed me to install all of my streaming music applications under one app and use them from all of my Apple devices from anywhere in the Home or yard is amazing The sound quality and power of the Denon audio AVR -X6300H is phenomenal. Thank's to your associate maverick I made this move wow I am glad I did.
Pros: All of the above
Really delivers quality sound that's not overpowering but just right for my room.
Pros: Easy Setup Great Sound Love the auto room balance
Cons: Nothing yet
I'm loving it! Exactly what I was looking for.
Pros: Plenty of HDMI inputs, Pre Amp outs for every channel, allows me to shut everything down with a single button, intuitive user interface.
Cons: Media server functionality leaves a little to be desired.
The Denon AVR-X6300H is a solid A/V receiver choice. My previous receiver was also a Denon (AVR-X4000), but I wanted one that would support the newer HDCP standard. There are some "nit-picky" things I would change, but no major flaws. Overall, it performs admirably
Pros: Features, Setup Routine
Cons: Price vs Features (compared to the next lower Denon model)
Have had this about 4 months now. This is a full featured receiver. A previous reviewer mentioned about how it does run very warm to hot. I did the same thing as him and installed an AC Infinity T9 cooling unit above it and it keeps the receiver at 74 degrees (or at a min. of whatever the room temp. is). I highly recommend you spend the additional money to protect your investment. The remote gives you complete control over everything. I take advantage of the many many inputs. You can re-name the components the receiver displays which is a cool feature. The adjustments you can make to the sound are huge. You can adjust each speaker individual. I also opted to buy the Auro 3-D sound. I use that for movies and well worth the money! For the price of this receiver it is a steal with 11 channels. It will guide you through setting it up with very detailed on screen instructions. The only negative is dealing with HEOS. I find it confusing and the online manual isn't really detailed into the receiver part..rather on the APP you download for your tablet or phone. All this being said, I highly recommend this unit for the amount of inputs and versatility in controlling the sound exactly as you want it. Just bear in mind that It isn't really meant to be put in an enclosed cabinet because of the heat output, be sure to check out the before mentioned receiver cooler and you'll never regret buying this. It will not be outdated for years and I do mean years to come.
Pros: A lot of inputs!!! Very easy to initially set up. Great value for 11 channels.
Cons: It can and does run warm/hot. Ventilation is mandatory. I recommend an aftermarket cooler designed to cool receivers and is well worth the money.
I've had the Denon AVR 6300 for a couple weeks and am very pleased with its performance overall; not surprised since I just moved from an older model, 3808ci, which I've been very pleased with. The sound is fantastic, lots of power and relatively smooth; the flexibility that the new features offer is a key reason I wanted to upgrade, i.e. wi-if, Bluetooth, airplay, etc. not disappointed thus far.
Pros: Lots of Power, solid unit, great features, easy setup, clean sound
Cons: Nothing thus far
I connected this to existing speaker system which needs to be replaced so am not able to give a proper sound review. The unit arrived promptly and in tact. It was quite easy to connect and set up even for me and I am an elderly lady. This is my second Denon and I love the Bluetooth/wireless capabilities on this one. So far I am very pleased with this purchase. Chrutchfield pros are very knowledgeable and helpful to work with. Disappointed in the lack of iPod USB port. It does have a front USB port but does not support iPod control. You have to connect older iPods to coax terminals and control them with the iPod itself.
Pros: Good price, easy set up, and enough ports to support lots of add ones.
Cons: Does not have a front USB iPod port.
Perfect. Clean crisp sound. Very natural. I have it connected to Mirage omnipolar speakers it creates a very realistic sound field. One thing to note, the Auro3D upgrade is not free, you need to purchase it from the Denon site.
Pros: Very realistic. Clear definition. Enough I/O ports and options.
Cons: To some, it may seem a little "understated". I like it a lot, because it sounds natural, but to some it may seem to lack "punch"
I have had my bose surround for just over 12 years and loved it from day one. When it kicked the bucket, it was a sad day. So of course I started shopping for a new bose. While doing a bit of looking, I found this unit. After a bit of head knocking. I figured my bose speakers still sounded great. So i went for this head unit and a powered sub. After running the calibration the unit sounded ok but it needed a bit more tuning( i think because of the used speakers) After all was said and done, i am very impressed with the way my system sounds. Thankfully my neighbors live a bit away from me, so when I have to get some thump on. They just ask if i got a new stereo.
Pros: The 11.1 surround gives that extra dimension.
This was purchased as part of a tech refresh for our home theater system. We were very impressed with the easy of setup and calibration process. There were a few tweaks in settings to optimize video but now all changes are in place and the audio and video presentation are pretty remarkable. Certainly no regrets on the purchase and would recommend as this receiver will meet most folks home theater needs.
Pros: Easy step by step set up and connection layout Quick speaker calibration Remarkable sound in all formats Great multi-room functionality
Cons: Need to purchase Auro-3D as an upgrade for $$$ Setting up HDMI ARC with TV is a bit of work but fine once done The remote does its job but could use some enhancements as no back-light and not very elegant in design function.
This receiver is very good. I almost didn't buy the X6300H because of the buzzing issues found on some of these units. I am happy that I did. I bought this to upgrade to 4K when I purchased a new OLED TV. It replaces a Denon 3313ci and the detail in the surround sound is much improved from the previous unit. The X6300H is a great upgrade from unit made just a few year ago even if you don't add the atoms speakers. Crutchfield always delivers greats products. I would definitely buy this unit again.
Pros: Great surround, nice power, easy set up
Cons: Still a little pricey even on sale.
I purchased the denon avr-x6300h to replace my recently deceased Yamaha rx=z1. the rx-z1 gave me 13 years of exceptional service, so I was leary about my new purchase. after setting up the x6300h I am more then pleased with its performance. it delivers clear crisp sound, and I like to play my music loud. watching movies is also a pleasure. having the latest technology available is a huge plus for me as well. overall I would highly recommend the receiver. in my opinion it is an excellent value and quality
I haven't had this receiver long enough to seriously test or try every feature. That being said, I really like the fluidity and coherence of the surround sound formats! This Denon replaced an onkyo atmos receiver, and the surround sound quality is much better and more detailed than the onkyo. Stereo play back has better depth and imaging than the onkyo and being able to bi-amp the front speakers is a plus! The only cons so far are the remote and the heat! 1. The lettering is very small and there is No backlight on the remote control! 2. The heatsinks for the 11 amps are up front and produce serious heat! The temperature gauge hovers between *98 and *105! I put an Aircom T9 cooling system on top of the Denon, now it hovers around *78! Overall, this is great receiver and the price is right!
Pros: Sound quality 140 watts per channel Superior surround sound
Cons: Remote control has NO backlight Receiver produces lots of heat if not cooled!
First big purchase for my media room. It was a tough decision with so many options. I'm glad I chose this receiver. Couldn't be more happy. Highly recommend.
After upgrading to the AVR-X6300H, it's easy to see why the Denon is a clear winner among the 11.2 systems: + Easy set up right out of the box. Just plug it in and follow the screens. + Audyssey Platinum Room Correction - handles everything, and then if you want to customize it, there are plenty of options! + Control everything right from your phone with the Denon 2016 AVR Remote" + Each channel is rated at 140 watts @ 8 ohms, 20Hz~20kHz, with only 0.05%THD for a clean, full 7.2.4 in a single receiver All the features and half the price of most competing systems. Beautiful sound with an ECO mode so you don't waste power when you're not using it.
Pros: Great power, low distortion Easy setup Top of the line room correction All the bells and whistles
Cons: Haven't found any
5 stars to Crutchfield for double boxing and quick shipping. I upgraded from a Denon 4100 and what a great upgrade. Solid piece, great connectivity and loads of capability. I just use mine for HT and does a great job. If you go with this piece, spring for the Audyssey iOS app. I used it last night to calibrate my neighbors new 6300 and liked the results - you can edit any of the room corrections made during calibration.
Received the Denon AVR-X6300H In-Command several days after placing my order from Crutchfield. Receiver arrived safe and sound inside the well protected shipping box. I made all my connections and ran the included auto sound set up with no problems. It took me awhile to get the on screen display to work, but then it magically appeared and looked great. This unit replaced a $300 Pioneer AV receiver I used the last few years while waiting for just the right high-end system to purchase. The Denon X6300 is well made and very powerful. My back two ceiling speakers along with the back two surround speakers have been given new life and the sound combined with the front three speakers is all you could ask for. Everything works great except the AM reception which is non existent, whereas in my inexpensive Pioneer, the AM reception was excellent. Makes you wonder. Also, the details on the Denon unit listed a direct wired connection for a iPhone/iPad. I pointed out to Ctruthfield that this connection does not exist. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase of the Denon X6300 and look forward to many years of listening enjoyment.
Pros: Excellent surround sound with power to spare.
Cons: Non existent AM reception. No direct wired iPhone connection as advertised, however, the Bluetooth sound and display are excellent.
I purchased a denon avr x4300h from a different online retailer and the unit was defective. Then I saw Crutchfield had the Denon avr x6300h on sale and purchased it. The unit came double boxed for protection and in perfect condition. Hook it up using Klipsch R280FA, R26FA, R24F an the RP450 CA center channel, plus 2 JL Audio E110 subwoofers, The Denon was connected to a LG 55C7P tv with the Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision playback support with streaming media like Netflix. The Denon avr x6300h and LG 55C7P are made for each other. I'm using all 11 channels on the Denon and the sound is fantastic on music and movies. If you want to be on the cutting edge get the Denon avr x6300h it is an excellent and extremely good receiver.
Defective hardware, which is why it is on sale. Stay away from this model. It has been plagued with a VERY LOUD BUZZING noise in the surround speakers when using any of the desirable audio settings. I specifically called Crutchfield to ask if the models they had in stock were updated with hardware fixes to resolve this known issue and they provided no information at all. They only offered that I could return it if there was something wrong. NO KIDDING!! Thanks! So I'll just go ahead and undo my existing 9.2 setup, unpack, install and configure this 11.2 setup, just to find out it's a defective pile of junk. A complete waste of time that I was trying to avoid. Crutchfield, you should be ashamed. I will not be dealing with you again if you do not make this right.
Cons:Crutchfield response on 8/22/2017 George contacted our Customer Support for help and we're getting a replacement on the way immediately. Anytime you encounter a problem with anything you purchase from Crutchfield, it's important to contact our Customer Support or Tech Support teams right away. They can help you solve the problem or set up a return within 60 days of purchase.
Great power but even better the sound this receiver produces. I had an avr 3808ci which I enjoyed but the 6300h takes it to a new level. This receiver is future proof as well so many ways to configure the speaker setup.
Pros: Features, sound field, power, options
Cons: Remote needs a back light.
The X6300H replaced my Denon x2200. The 2200 has Atmos but no matter what blu ray I played , The 2200 did not impress me at all and I had all but given up on the formate . Now.. Got the 6300H hooked up with the same speakers that I used for the 2200 and wow! It's a night and day notice of sound quality. I rewatched "Unbroken " and the Atmos gave me goosebumps. Star Trek Beyond 4K and again it was all new. Now the 6300 is the 2nd from the top and has a hefty price tag but my early impressions Is the guts of the 6300 are of better quality then the lower tear models in the Denon lineup so one would expect a better sound. The only bad thing I can report is that my unit is effected with the known motherboard issue were a loud buz can be heard wile the DEQ is turn on. The dealer I bought it from has been very good of ordering a new unit that has been confirmed NOT to have the motherboard issue. I'm very happy with the 6300. Great sound is important to me and I use it for 99/10 movies to music.
Pros: Sound quality of movies is top notch. Feature rich . Great OSD.
Cons: Some older stock have the motherboard "buzz" issue. The HD radio is worth where I live which is disappointing.
Exactly what I was looking for. Easy setup. Sound is excellent.
Great product! I decided to purchase this so that I can get the ATMOS experience, and it really delivers. Setup was easy, as the Denon GUI makes things simple to follow. I am using all of the speakers available for my main zone: 2 fronts, 1 center, 2 surrounds (right and left), 2 surround backs (right and left) 4 ATMOS ceiling speakers (also from Crutchfield and work great! Polk Audio RC60i), and 2 subs. My room is not huge and sound great using just the power from the x6300 without an additional amplifier. The sound from tracks on Gravity and Fury road sound AMAZING!!
Pros: Great sound and ease of setup
Cons: Expensive, but you get what you pay for!!!! ;)
Very nice receiver and powerful too. It did take a support call to Crutchfield to assist with the speaker settings. Once that was done, it has worked very well.
Pros: Sounds great. Video upscaling is excellent. Crutchfield support.
Cons: None yet.
Great A/V receiver. Replaced an old Pioneer Elite VSX-01 THX. The quality of sound is excellent. Plenty of power for a small living room. I am running a 7.1.2 Atmos setup with all Klipsch speakers. I bi-amped the front left and right RP-280FA towers. Audyssey room correction works very well and I recommend using it. With smart TV and home theater PC inputs the dialog was too quiet. Using the dynamic range control on light fixed that. I would definitely recommend this receiver.
Pros: Superb sound quality. Plenty of power and can run full 7.2.4.
Cons: Runs hotter than a class D amp. I would not stack anything on it.
This Denon was actually the fourth attempt at replacing the Onkyo in my living room with a 7.1 setup. I tried Pioneer Elite, returned it and hooked my Onkyo back up. About a year later I gave a Yamaha a go... same deal. Fast forward another year and I turned to Crutchfield and gave Cambridge a go. My vinyl never sounded better but the system was just too narrowly focused on audio to meet my needs. The real deal breaker was not being able to listen to my vinyl while watching sports. Any UCLA basketball fan who's had to listen to Bill Walton knows what I'm talking about. Anyway, the Crutchfield team was awesome to deal with. I switched to this Denon and I am finally content. It does everything my family asks of it: vinyl, bluray, Xbox, 4K tele, HD radio, etc... and it does it well.
Pros: Sound quality, versatility, aesthetically beautiful, sound quality, sound quality
Cons: The remote is a little difficult for me and my old eyes to see and use at night. :\ (Certainly not a deal breaker)
I bought this great receiver as a replacement for an old onkyo that did not have ultrahd/hdr capability. The sound out of the Denon AVR-X6300h is great, the auto speaker calibration works properly.
Pros: compatible with latest 4k/hdr content, sounds amazing. Future proof.
Technological advances evidenced with this receiver. 4K UHD, multiple decoded formats, 11 amplification channels, wireless, latest formats, what more can one ask for. Step-by-step guided and onscreen setup, Audessy 32, and sounds flawless.
Pros: 11 channels, Dolby Atmos, easy setup
I bought this receiver to push a new set of Polks for a high-ceiling kiving room. The old speakers did not provide enough sound and the old receiver would not properly drive the new speakers. The new system sounds so clean and uncluttered. The highs, miss, and lows of music are distinguishable, as are voices of TV/movie conversations. The receiver integrates with the HEOS app nicely and has plenty of inputs for my purposes, with room for expansion. The remote app for iPhone use is simple, but I have not really found much use for it as I am not using the multi-room zones with this receiver. Overall, setup and use of the 6300 were simple and straightforward and I would recommend this to a friend.
Pros: Ease of setup, quality sound, variety of inputs, wifi enabled, HD radio enabled
Cons: None identified
Bought this flagship Denon AVR as a replacement for a Marantz SR7009, since I needed full UltraHD/HDR compatibility. Sounds great and works perfectly with my LG Signature OLED panel (also from Crutchfield), PlayStation 4 Pro, and Xbox One S. Two thumbs up!
Pros: Compatible with latest 4K UltraHD/HDR specs, sounds amazing.
This is the best sound that I have experienced. I could hear things in movies that I have never heard before. Also quality of the music is now awesome.
Pros: great sound, easy to use, easy to setup
Excellent music fidelity and video scaling. Setup was intuitive. Remote is surprisingly poor compared to the quality and technology of the receiver
Pros: Excellent performance and features
Cons: Inadequate remote and inputs for legacy devices
This is my first Denon receiver and with all the bells and whistles it incorporates it should be the last receiver I will have to buy. There are features I will probably never use but I'm ready just in case. The size of my room dictates how many speakers I can use (7.1 setup) so I have much room to expand if need be. I have owned Onkyo, Yamaha, and Sony receivers and I must say this tops them all.
Pros: Great sound Easy setup Easy to operate
Amazing... but there is some high-pitched buzzing that Denon is still working on a solution for. It truly is the only issue holding back this amazing beast. The issue, excaserbated when you use the Audessy Cinema EQ feature is mind-numbing in a receiver at this price point. That said, the features and overall sound quality is amazing and I could easily change this to a five star review if thy could get this issue resolved (via speedy repair or software update) for me and other 6300 owners experiencing this issue.
Pros: Features, 11 channels, DTS:X/Dolby Atmos, 4K support, Audessy MT/32.
Cons: High pitch buzzing, made Lauder when Audessy Cinema EQ is enabled.
Great receiver! Replaced a 9 ch Onkyo (TX-NR929) and love the Atmos sound! Lots of power, smaller footprint (and lighter) than the Onkyo but more power. Just about every feature of a very high-end receiver in a reasonable price. Glad to be back with Denon sound again to go with my Paradigm speakers all around. Be advised the Auro-3D advertised has yet to be released (paid upgrade) for this Denon model. Discussion with Denon support indicates it will use the existing Atmos speaker setup that you have (I'm at a 7.2.4 - overhead). Not sure if I will upgrade just yet (when available), will wait until I see what kind of support for it becomes available (i.e. how many titles begin using that format). If there were any cons, I would say the remote (not backlit). Still, most highly recommended.
Pros: Power, versatility, great sound, 11 CH powered
Cons: remote not backlit
This is a top of the line receiver that can do it all. More versatility than any thing out there. Good for todays use and the future. Set up is easy and results will be satisfying.
Pros: Top of the line receiver
excellent - easy to navigate, like the straight line speaker connect. Only one major disappointment. Multi stereo will not play height speakers. Why?? We can put a man on the moon but can't figure out this problem in a high dollar receiver.
Cons: speaker connects lose wires when turn receiver to the side to make adjustments.
You can't go wrong with a Denon AVR. I bought the AVR-X6300H to replace my AVR-4311CI as I needed a significantly improved DLNA media player to stream my music collection of 10,000+ titles. The AVR-X6300H does a fantastic job playing back all mi HiRes FLAC files (up to 192 kHz, 24-bit). For my DSD (SACD) files I continue to use my Oppo 103D Blu-ray player and transfer music over HDMI to my Denon receiver. Setting up the receiver including Wifi was easy as pie, and I have had never any network connection problems going Wifi. Another important feature was the receiver's capability to support HD-Radio. In Boston, MA, we have like tons of HD-Radio stations. Most Other-than-Denon AVRs don't come with HD-Radio. In terms of its video capabilities, it simply does what it's supposed to do, and it does it beautifully. I am not using the upscaling (1080p-to-4K) feature as my TV already does that, so this feature is not important to me. I have all kinds of HDMI devices connected to this receiver, and video switching works flawlessly. The AVR-X6300H is beautifully designed, and a joy to operate. Very highly recommend this AVR.
Pros: Great design, lots of capabilities, lots of power over 11 channels, easy-to-use, awesome sound and picture.
Cons: Wished it displayed the FLAC (and MP3) resolution information on the TV screen. Other than that, can't think of any other shortcomings.
Just what I expected. Great AVR.
The Denon AVR-X6300H replaced a 6 year old Onkyo 9.2 channel AVR. This AVR was very easy to setup because once you make the connections and power it up, the on board computer walks you through the process. The system was successfully setup after using the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 system calibrated the receiver to use all 11 speakers flawlessly. I have my speakers setup for the Dolby Atmos/DTS-X configuration, with 4x ceiling height speakers. The sound is great and is what one would come expect from a high-end Denon receiver. When not enjoying movies, I use the receiver to listen to hi-res music in stereo mode and again, the sound is phenomenal. You will not go wrong with buying this receiver for your home theater or just for your music listening needs.
Pros: No need to add an external amplifier to have a 11.2 channel or 7.2.4 speaker configuration. The receiver is much lighter in weight when compared to the Onkyo AVR it replaced. The receiver has both Wi-fi and cable network connectivity access. It has the capability of up-scaling all video inputs up to at least 4K/60 signals. Has 4K pass-through, and has both Dolby Atmos and DTS-X installed. The AVR can be setup manually if the user does not want to use the Audyssey system or to make adjustments
Cons: Nothing came to light as of yet.

Voice control features include -
Note: You will need an Alexa-enabled device (Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Tap, or Echo Show - all sold separately) to operate your HEOS products via voice-command. Youre HEOS components and the Alex-enabled devices must be on the same network.
OSD w/ Setup Assistant (via HDMI): The AVR-X6300H's clear, easy to understand graphical on-screen display guides you through the set-up process to ensure the correct configuration. The exclusive on-screen Setup Assistant provides easy setup instructions, leading the user step-by-step to optimize critical settings for the best possible sound and video quality with the rest of your system. The on-screen menu and setup assistant can be output to your TV via HDMI only. If you connect the receiver to your television via only composite or component video, you will need to use the AV receiver's front-panel display for menu and source adjustments.
- Initial setup requires that the receiver be connected to your TV via HDMI for display of the on-screen menu. Many of the receiver's setup functions can only be found via the on-screen menu and not the front-panel display.
- The video being played will not appear in the background of the menu when the menu is operated during playback of 4K or 3D video, or if the video aspect ratio is not 16:9 or 4:3.
Quick Select: On the AVR-X6300H's front-panel, you'll find four Quick Select buttons that let you quickly choose from the most popular input sources; the ergonomically designed remote also includes Quick Select function buttons. With Quick Select, the AVR-X6300H remembers not only your preferred inputs but also your preferred audio settings, so you can enjoy precisely tailored sound with each one.
Gapless Playback: Many live and classical albums have no gaps in the music. Gapless playback ensures that there are no pauses between audio files. This provides playback with no interruptions, the way it was meant to be heard. Compatible with WAV and FLAC music files via USB or DLNA.
Keyword Search: You can also search Internet Radio, USB, and DLNA content using keyword searches from the AV receiver's on-screen menu and remote control.
Input Name & Delete: You can change the display name (up to 8 characters) of a selected input source. If an input isn't being used, you can delete it from the display so you don't have to scroll past it when you change sources.
Slide Shows/Picture View: You can play back still image (JPEG) files stored on a USB memory device or media server and pictures on Flickr website as a slide show. The display time can also be set. You can also play back music and a favorite picture at the same time via USB, Internet Radio, or Media Server.
Sleep Timer + Auto Standby: The Denon AV receiver features a programmable Sleep Timer and Auto Standby function. The Sleep Timer allows you to automatically set the power to standby after a predetermined amount of time has passed; set the sleep timer up to 120 minutes in 10 minute increments. The unit enters Standby mode automatically when no commands are sent to the unit for the set time (15/30/60 minutes). Before it enters the standby mode, "Auto Standby" is displayed on the front-panel display of this unit and the on-screen menu.
ECO Mode: This receiver is equipped with an ECO Mode function that allows you to enjoy music and movies while reducing the power consumption during use, Eco mode adjusts the maximum power available according to the volume level selected to reduce power consumption.
Personal Memory Plus: For each input, the receiver automatically memorizes the settings for input mode, surround mode, HDMI output mode, audio delay, etc. When the input source is switched, the settings last used for that source are automatically recalled. The surround parameters, tone control settings, and playback levels for the different output channels are memorized for each surround mode.
Protection Circuit: This is a function to prevent damage to components within the power supply when an abnormality such as an overload, excess voltage, or over-heating occurs. In this unit, the power indicator blinks and the unit enters standby mode when an abnormality occurs.

because it was recomended brand [ Linda Dec 31, 2017 ]
Has all the features I wanted and more and reviews very well. The sale put it over the top. Could not see an advantage of losing Digital tuner to go to newer version of this unit and the next model up wasn't worth the added price. It was a great balance for me. Only concern is future upgrading of HDMI spec but I am years away from a TV that would need it. Upgraded from 25 year old Sony with no HDMI. [ chris Dec 27, 2017 ]

My current Yamaha has been a faithful friend for more than 10 years, but new times require new equipment to deaL with advances in audio quality. I've purchased through Crutchfield and have never been disappointed. I also feel the better audio and long term sustainability requires an input of money. Looking forward to adding this device to my current system. [ Charles Oct 02, 2017 ]

i was looking for a receiver to replace my yamaha rx-z1. it seemed that there is really nothing compatible to that receiver available today. with the help of allen, i was able to decide on the denon avr-x6300h. in addition to a turntable, and soon an anthem amp. [ david Sep 11, 2017 ]

I needed to replace an awesome tube amp with something more modern. Came down to the Yamaha Aventage RX-A2070. Both 140 amps or more, both 9.2 ready, both great reviews. I didn't see myself needing the 11.2 option (the only real difference), so no need to pay the premium for the top-of-the-line amp in either brand. Chatted online with the Crutchfield rep, who recommended the Denon over the Yahama. Though both seemed awesome products. [ Andrew Aug 26, 2017 ]

I want to upgrade to a 7.1.2 or 7.1.4 configuration.Haven't decided yet? Probably try the 7.1.2 first since I have a pair of Pioneers Height speakers. I read a lot of good reviews on this receiver .I currently have a denon ave-s710w which is great but with the price drop I couldn't resist. With this receiver I shouldn't have to upgrade for a long time (hopefully)! Looking forward to the new receiver!!!ð??? [ Louis Aug 13, 2017 ]
Denon fan and wanted the convenience and quality of 11.2! [ Jeffrey Jul 20, 2017 ]
This is my third Denon receiver as I like the features and power you get for the price. After moving around for 25 years in the military, I'm finally settled in a house that has an ideal space for home theater. I wanted Dolby Atmos and after much research, it looks like Denon has done it again with the AVR-X6300H. I'll be running a 7.2.2 speaker configuration and this receiver should easily power them all. I spent a fair bit of time on the phone with Zach. I had specific needs that I was trying to fill - wanted something that could power the speakers that I have, could handle two audio channel outputs, was state of the art in terms of internet capabilities and delivered the best possible quality sound. With Zach's help, this is what we came up with. I am very excited to hear how it sounds. [ GERARD M Jan 05, 2017 ]

I ended up not keeping my 6300 and going with the 4300 but yes both units have multiple zones if you are only using it in 5.1 [ Chris May 22, 2018 ]
Not sure ,But you can Bi amp some of your speakers in your 5.1 surround for more watts [ Kenneth S. May 21, 2018 ]
I'm 99% certain you can yes in those configurations you are wanting. You can assign the unused channels to your liking to different zones. I know you can assign them to a second zone but not sure about a third zone along with. Check the online manual or ask a Crutchfield agent . Next time I power up my cinema I will check the configurations exactly and answer back [ Mary Jo May 15, 2018 ]
No. If you truly need the HDMI 2.0b you'll have to get a newer receiver model that supports it: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_033AVX6400/item.html [ Ryan Dec 02, 2017 ] Staff
It gets software updates quite a bit but I believe it will not support 8k in future. [ Mary Jo Aug 20, 2017 ]
That question would be better answered by Denon support. They will know if the firmware will be upgradable to support 8k. [ Patrick Aug 18, 2017 ]
It has Blutooth connectivity yes. Havnt tried it myself They have a speaker line from the Denon HEOS line that a lot use [ Mary Jo Jul 17, 2017 ]
It is HDR Compatible for extended picture contrast and brightness with compatible 4K TV's and HDR-encoded content, meaning it has (HDR10 pass-through). There is a Firmware Update coming in late 2017, that will allow this unit to support Dolby Vision & HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) in pass-through as well. This shouldn't be a problem since Dolby Vision & HLG content is not expected to hit the Marketplace until Late 2017 and early 2018. [ Bill Jun 25, 2017 ]
No it does not. [ Patrick Jun 23, 2017 ]
I can confirm that it will pass thru HDR content. Cannot confirm pass thru of Dolby Vision content, but Denon support site advises that it is compatible via a firmware update. [ James Jun 23, 2017 ]
HDR compatible out of the box...DV available via future FW update. [ Gene Jun 23, 2017 ]
Looking at the manual it seems you can't run all four Dolby height channels and bi-amp. I bi-amp my front mains but I only use two height channels. [ Christine Mar 26, 2017 ]
Sorry, no. The Denon's amplifier assignment will not support the 5.1.4 + Bi-amp configuration. The 6300 uses two of the "Height" channels for the bi-amp option so, you would not be able to have the 4 Atmos overhead speakers when bi-amping the main front left & right channels. The receiver does offer the multi-channel RCA pre-outs so, you can add an external 2-channel amp for the bi-amping of your front speakers while using the Denon's internal amplification for powering the primary 5.1.4 channels. This will still leave you with 2 additional channels in the Denon which can be used for powering a pair of speakers in a secondary zone. While I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, I hope the information helps. My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5 [ Ryan Mar 10, 2017 ] Staff
Yes. All the pre-outs are always on, so you can hook up base layer speakers using external amp(s) while wiring the four height speakers to the height speaker posts, setting Amp Assign to 11.1CH, and setting Pre-Out to Front (thus assigning one of the internal amps to the Height 2 speaker posts). This frees up headrooom for the height speakers in your X4300H amplifier array, where all nine amplifier channels share the same power supply. [ flybob Sep 17, 2017 ]
You do not need an external amplifier with this AVR. I am currently using 4 height channels - 2 ceiling Dolby Atmos in the front and 2 ceiling Dolby Atmos in the rear, plus the 2 front, 2 surround and 2 rear surround, a center speaker and 2 sub woofers. [ ADRIAN Feb 22, 2017 ]
I'm afraid not. While the Denon AVR-X6300H features built-in Bluetooth with support for wireless music streaming and control, it does not have the ability to transmit the audio wirelessly to a set of Bluetooth headphones. However there are some other receivers that support this feature--for more details on that, feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Larry Feb 01, 2017 ] Staff
You cannot use Heos speakers as rear channels. You can group things together in the Heos app, but they will not deliver rear channel sound. [ Scott Jan 05, 2017 ]
I could not find anything in the manual about using wireless speakers with the AVR. It addresses using the HEOS app with the AVR to steam music from a wireless device such as a smart phone, but it does not address using HEOS wireless speakers. I am using wired connections for a 7.1.4 configuration. [ ADRIAN Dec 06, 2016 ]
Edit: should read 7.1.4 [ Gene Nov 03, 2016 ]
It has 11 internal amplifiers...so it can accommodate 7.1.4 config without additional external amps? [ Gene Nov 03, 2016 ]
This AVR has 11 discrete, independent amplifiers built in. [ ADRIAN Nov 02, 2016 ]
The AVR-X6300H's has a 11 amplifiers. No need for external amps to run 11 speakers. [ James Nov 02, 2016 ]
