Denon DCD-50
The player is nice looking and compact but it will not play some of my CD that works in my old player, it will say my CD is not supported?

Denon Design Series Disc Player: The ideal companion to Denon's PMA-50 or PMA-60 full digital stereo amplifier (sold separately), the DCD-50 features a high quality disc drive that plays music CDs as well as data discs with MP3 and WMA tracks. Styled identically to the PMA-50 or PMA-60, the DCD-50 features an elegant compact chassis that can be operated when placed horizontally or vertically.
Slot-Loading Disc Mechanism: The convenient slot loading mechanism dispenses with the usual disc tray, and allows for vertical and horizontal placement.
Disc Compatibility: The Denon DCD-50 plays music CDs and can also play data CDs, including CD-R and CD-RW discs with MP3 and WMA audio tracks. The player can recognize up to 255 folders and 255 files. The unit will also supports ID3-tag and WMA-tag data for the display of song/artist/album information from MP3 and WMA music files.
32-Bit/192kHz DAC: The DCD-50 contains Denon's own 32bit/192kHz D/A converter, renowned for its high degree of precision, to bring you the best sound quality possible with wide dynamic range, extremely low noise, and no distortion.
Analog & Digital Outputs: The Denon DCD-50 is equipped with a digital coaxial output and a analog stereo RCA output.
Front-Panel & Remote Control: The supplied IR remote control features an ergonomically-designed layout that includes a cursor keypad, number keypad and dedicated function buttons such as random, repeat, info and program. You can control both DCD-50 player and PMA-50 or PMA-60 amplifier with the supplied remote. There are also push-button controls on the front-panel of the CD player to operate Power, Eject, Play/Pause, Stop, and Previous/Next Track.
Front-Panel Display: The Clear View OLED screen on the front-panel features automatic display orientation that detects if the DCD-50 is placed vertically or horizontally and adjusts the display accordingly. The front-panel OLED screen shows the CD's total tracks and total time, as well as the track number and track time, and the song title, artist name and album name (depending on the disc), along with icons for random mode, repeat 1 and repeat all modes, and a folder icon for data discs. The dimmer function features 3 levels of display brightness, adjustable via the remote control. When paired with the PMA-50 or PMA-60 amplifier, you can adjust the display brightness of both units at the same time.
Vertical or Horizontal Placement: The DCD-50 can be positioned vertically or horizontally alongside the PMA-50 or PMA-60 stereo amplifier. It can also be placed horizontally on top of the PMA-50 amplifier. Removable feet and screw caps make re-configuring the placement of the DCD-50 disc player simple.
Auto Playback & Standby: If you prefer, you can easily configure via the remote control the DCD-50 to wakeup from standby and start immediate playback when you insert a disc. Once configured, the DCD-50 will retain your preferred mode until you decide to change it. You also have the ability to activate the Auto Standby function, which will automatically put the DCD-50 in standby mode after 30 minutes of inactivity, saving energy and the environment
Detachable AC Power Cord: The Denon DCD-50 comes with a detachable 6' AC power which will need to plugged into an AC wall outlet or surge protector (sold separately).

No. I put a SACD in my Devon DCD-50 and it said unsupported on the display. It does sound really good with regular CD's however. [ KENT A Feb 03, 2017 ]
