Q
how long is the cord that needs to be run to power? i have a truck with the battery in the bed. will this be long enough to reach?

A
No u will have to add wire

Chad, The cord will not likely reach to the bed of your truck. BUT, consider getting the power off of a switched source. In doing so the unit will be off when you turn the truck off and when you return and turn the key on, the escort returns to the state it was in when you powered down. I think a much better way to use the unit.

Q
Do I need a smarcord if I have a Passport Max 2 connected to my phone via Bluetooth. Can I do muting, etc. from the phone?

A
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: You do not have to have a Smart Cord to be able to mute the system. The Passport Max 2 has an Auto Mute feature so it will automatically reduce the volume after the initial audile aler. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
