Overview

Our take on the Sanus SA206 EcoSystem™ Mini

Surge protection is a must for all A/V gear, including wall-mounted TVs. But most surge protectors aren't designed to complement the clutter-free appearance of an on-wall TV installation. The Sanus SA206 EcoSystem Mini shields your wall-mounted TV and small A/V components from dangerous power surges, while maintaining neat cable management. The SA206 EcoSystem Mini is compact enough to hide behind your wall-mounted TV, so everything looks clean and organized.

Replace bulky "wall warts"

Smaller A/V gear found close to your TV, such as IR repeaters, routers, and streaming devices, typically use 12-volt or 5-volt DC power with bulky "wall wart" adapters — an unsightly challenge to your décor. Replace those eyesores with the SA206. It features four 12-volt DC outlets and two 5-volt DC outlets, alongside its two AC outlets. It even includes one 12-volt cable and one 5-volt cable with adapters to fit your gear.

Product Highlights:

  • protects TVs and small A/V components including IR repeaters, routers, and streaming devices from power surges
  • designed to be hidden behind mounted TVs and furniture
  • one 12-volt DC cable and one 5-volt DC cable included for cleaner cable management
  • two 5.5mm adapter and one 3.5mm adapter included for connecting your small A/V gear using supplied cables
  • two AC outlets (each individual jack can output up to 12 amps)
  • four 12-volt DC outlets (each individual jack can output up to 2 amps)
  • two 5-volt DC outlets (each individual jack can output up to 2 amps)
  • EMI/RFI noise filtering provides clean power
  • 1500-joule surge protection
  • keyhole slots for wall-mounting
  • optional in-wall mounting hardware available
  • detachable power cord
  • warranty: 5 years
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Perfect solution for power suppression if the wall outlet is behind your wall mounted TV. This device allows me to keep the cables hidden and my TV protected all at the same time. The build quality is top notch as well, which is consistent with Sanus' TV mounts.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

There really aren't that many slim surge protectors in the market. I am glad to have come across this one because the majority of the other ones are thicker than the TV wall mount. Also the design is very smart with the outlets on the side, other manufactures have the outlets on the top which puts you in a position to find 90 degree power cords, and lets face it, that's not very common. If you just need a surge protector for your TV and soundbar while maintaining your cables clutter free, I highly recommend this product.

Pros: Slim and well built.

Cons: Would have like an Ethernet port too.

Sanus SA206 Ecosystem Mini

Joe from Irvine, CA on 6/7/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The unit itself is a realitively small size which makes mounting it to the back of a TV (even a 40" which I used). Feels solid and well built. The only complaint that I have is that it onbly ships with one 12v and one 5v dc cables, even though it has the potential to utilize four 12v and two 5v cables, with no method of ordering more.

Pros: Small size, well built, functions just as advertised.

Cons: Not enough dc cables included in purchase.

I couldn't find anything else comparable for my flat screen TVs. This is nice and compact. Some people forget to protect the mounted TV from surges. This is ideal for protection.

Good idea, would like more options

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought with SA809 recessed box. I like how it snaps into the box, but maybe a separate unit for the box would be better. To use this with be box, you need to wire an outlet into the box and this plug this into it. I would have prefered a method of wiring directly into the power unit. Unfortunately my soundbar is 24v so I still have to have that adapter. I also have a Chromecast which is 5v, but it uses a USB port which is not one of the available adapters. I made some modifications to make things a little better, but would have like the functionality out of the box. Overall I love the idea, just needs some fine tuning.

Pros: Attaches to their recessed box. I like the DC power options.

Cons: Not enough adapters. Available DC cannot power my soundbar. No hardwire ability.

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

There are rarely very few slim surge protectors in the market. This one is slim enough to fit in the middle of my wall mount and it has two connections which are good enough for my TV as well as my soundbar. The design is also very smart because it has all the outlets on the side while other surge protectors have it on the top forcing you to find 90 degree angle power cords which are not that common.[ Otto  Jun 21, 2017 ]

1 question already asked

There is just enough room between the TV and the wall to squeeze my hand in to reach the power button at the back right of the TV. I would estimate its about 2-3".[ John  Dec 28, 2016 ]
