The Sanus VMPL3 has an expandable design that lets you mount flat-panel TVs ranging from 27" all the way up to 110" on your wall. It features sturdy, heavy-gauge steel construction with a durable powder-coated finish. You get two sets of mounting brackets for your TV: One set provides vertical tilt so you can adjust the angle of your TV with a gentle push, and the other set mounts your TV in a fixed position just 1-9/16" from the wall.

The web site really helped in determining where to drill the mounting holes. Made it soooooo easy. thanks
Pros: Simply easy
We used this to hang up the Sharp Aquos 90" (145 lbs) and it was great! It was already bad enough that the display was really too big for the housing design, but thankfully the mount had plenty of strength and it while it's not a full-motion, who cares? At 90" with a wide angle view, you don't need to worry about the range of motion because you are able to see this from any angle. we opted this set up because we can access the outlet and connections just fine with a tilting function.
Can't get much easier than this. Drill 4 holes in studs, hang the TV, and slide left/right to center. Done. Very beefy construction will hold my 150lb plasma solid.
I went from a Sanus mount on my 50 inch plasma that would technically hold a 4K 65 inch tv. However, it didn't seem very stable. The VMPL3 allowed me to expand to the third stud and offers much greater support.
Awesome mount, have used lots of them over the years and this one is the best. Will certainly use again.
The Sanus VMPL3 was recommended to me by the tech specialist that ultimately mounted my TV for me. He mentioned that the Sanus mounts were the best in the business and as of Friday of last week, I have successfully mounted my TV above my fireplace. My TV is a 42 inch LCD LG TV and the Sanus mount can hold this TV without any problems. It was also very easy to install and the instructions weren't too complicated to understand. I believe that the Sanus mounts are worth every single penny.
Pros: The mount is very sturdy and can easily hold my 42 inch TV.
This is a well made, heavy duty piece of gear. Not hard to set up if you take your time. I like the fact that it contains enough various bolts and spacers to work with a variety of TVs. It still didn't have the right bolts for mine, but a quick trip to the hardware store fixed that. The tilt function works fine, but I don't really think it's that useful for viewing purposes. I can't imagine anyone needing to tilt a TV *up*, and the tilt downward might only be slightly helpful if you're sitting on the floor. It's not that steep of a tilt to really do that much, and with tvs of the size that you'd use this for, you don't really need a tilt to see the screen well. What it does help with is moving the TV away from the wall a little further. As nice as the idea is of having the TV right up against the wall, that makes heat dissipation an issue. My Sumsung TV manual indicates the TV should actually be 4" from the wall, which seems excessive to me, but I could see how having the TV tight to the wall could be a problem. This mount gets it about 2.5" away, which I think is just about right to give it some breathing room. Also, the tilt function makes it much easier to access the back panel to make connections back there. For that reason alone, the tilt is worth the extra money. This unit also comes with a set of flush mount brackets, if you prefer. So, lots of extra parts left over, between all the bolts and the brackets.
Pros: Well made, plenty of mounting options. Good directions. Not difficult to set up. Gets the TV far enough from the wall so it can dissipate heat.
This is a great TV wall mount - very substantial and extremely safe. I was mounting a 40" Samsung LED/LCD TV so this mount may well have been overkill. But being on the safe side doesn't hurt. I would have given it 5 stars except something was missing (or I just missed it) in the instructions. The typical mounting diagram shows the mount spanning 3 studs or 32" between the outside mounting holes. But very important - the TV must mount to the two moveable back plates, not the front plate (all part 01 in the instructions)! My TV had a 7.9" distance between the vertical mounting bars (part 06 and 07). I mounted the support plates (part 01) to span three studs with some extra space but after I finished this step and tried to mount the TV, I found the two rear parts of the mounting plate were separated too far to accept the vertical mounts. I was still able to span three studs but just barely by readjusting the rear mounting pieces as small as they could go and still do the span. If it did it again, I would have used two studs and made it easier. So be sure to understand completely how the mount works before you begin.
Pros: Very substantial Flexible installation Can mount very close to the wall or with the tilting brackets giving +6 to-12 degrees.
Cons: Instructions could be better.
Super sturdy and over engineered, just how I like it. Relatively easy to install, despite the fact it was heavy. Used for 65" Sony KDL65W850A
Pros: Sturdy, robust, over engineered, heavy duty, heavy wall plate, expands to cover three wall studs.
Cons: Heavy, oh wait that's a pro not a con!
This unit was extremely easy to install, especially since I have a smaller TV and didn't need to use most of the included hardware/extensions. Got my TV on the wall with ease!
Very tough, nice quality. Worth every penny. Adjusts to span three studs and is secured using three included lag bolts.
Cons: Not enough included screws for mounting the tv. Had to buy extras at the local hardware store, but that was only a couple dollars. Also, the wrench for tightening the security screws to permanently hold the tv to the mount isn't long enough.
Works great, easy to install, solid as a rock. I think you could hang the scoreboard in Texas Stadium off this thing!
Pros: Easy to install, rock solid, excellent service, as always, from Crutchfield
Easy to set-up and hang. Used to hang new Samsung UN60F8000 and it was very easy. Superb construction.
Pros: Easy to use and to mount
Great product! Very well made. Heavy duty. No problem assembled the wall mounted hangar for the 60" flat screen. The only issue was adjusting the safety screw. One needs a small arm and hand to adjust the screw.
Pros: Very well made; heavy duty; easy to assemble.
Cons: Need small arm & hand for adjustment.
Wall mounted a 65" Sony LED LCD using this mount. Easy to install and the tilt function works well.
Pros: Easy to install. Well built.
I couldn't find a mount with a big enough VESA pattern to use with my LG LCD screen. The specs were wrong in the manual so every mount I tried wasn't big enough. With this mount it expands so it solved my problem. Mounted the TV in just a few minutes.
Pros: expandable. easy set up. sturdy mount
Well worth the money. Compared to other mounts that I have seen and purchased on the market, this is the top of the line and the fact that it adjusts to fit larger TV's makes it even better, because I know my husband would like a 70in. down the line. The mount is very heavy and sturdy although I would recommend a professional install it unless you are a pro at these sort of things.
Currently holding up our new Samsung 55 in led tv. The tilt function gives more clearance for wires in the back, and you can switch to a flush mount down the line without buying anything new. All parts are top quality, heavy and sturdy.
Pros: Versatile, sturdy, easy install.
The Sanus mount was very sturdy (a bit heavy so you will need two people to install) for my 65' Plasma TV which weighed 125 lbs. It has a very simple and straightforward design and plenty of mounting holes. With the optional extension bracket I was able to secure it to three studs. The tilt function provides ample access to cables and connections behind the TV as well as a great viewing angle which allowed me to mount the TV sightly higher than I normally would. Very pleased with the quality of the design, manufacture and function.
Pros: Very sturdy, easy to install, good design and easy to use.
Came on time, boxed like it was fine china! Mount worked as expected.
The wall mount was very heavy duty. I am using it to mount a 70" TV and it was designed to easily handle the weight. Very easy to install, well made, will certainly do the job.
Pros: multiple mount types, can be made to adapt to a range of mounting styles.
Cons: shipping weight...good thing shipping was free!
The mount was exactly as indicated and super easy to install.
Pros: heavy duty, easy to install, instructions were more than adequate, easily adjustable.
This product was easy to install and seems to work great. This was my first experience installing one of these but it was strait forward and easy.
Pros: Gives you many options for tilt and low profile.
Cons: Many parts to sort through.
This is a very good wall mount. It worked with my TV well and was easy to install. Sanus makes good products. This mount is also a good choice because it allows you to expand to a bigger TV (up to seventy inches). The mount will support up to 280 pounds and can be used as a flush mount or swivel.
Pros: Good quality made mount, directions easy to follow, allows you to upgrade to bigger TV, mine is fifty-one inches and this mount will support a seventy inch TV.
Great mount, used for an 80" TV. Very sturdy and and nice adjustments. Sanus mounts are the best!
Pros: Easy to install, slide adjustment, sturdy
Solid & easy to install
Pros: Solid mount
The best wall mount for Samsung 65ES8000
The Panasonic 65 inch plasmas need a special mount and the VMPL3-B fits. The box was extremely heavy, but the parts were manageable to install by myself. The link to the Sanus measurement tool was the best. Plug in the TV you are mounting and how high you want it to be, and it will tell you exactly where to drill the holes.
Quick shipping, sturdy and very well made product!
Based on the reviews at Crutchfield, I picked the mount that would fit the Sony XBR 55 according to Sanus.com. Didn't have to add the extensions provided. It fit the T.V like it was custom made for it. Would recommend it without hesitation.
Pros: Well built. Excellent directions both written and video. Easy to put together.
This bracket is built of very heavy metal, well finished in a heavy coat of protective paint. When I ordered it, I didn't realize that the "slim mount" and the "tilt mount" were mutually exclusive. In my application it didn't matter. I used the tilt-mount option on a 60' Sony Bravia-class LED/LCD TV, 65lbs or so. I was a bit concerned that the brackets that mount on back of the TV didn't reach over half way up the back of the TV. There are extensions included with the kit, but I couldn't use them because of the mounting hole locations on the back of the TV. Two are near the bottom and 2 are almost halfway up. My concern was that the TV wouldn't have enough support and the top of it would flex when tilted forward. However, I reasoned that Sony engineers put the mouning holes where they should be, and it seems to be working fine. (The bracket was NOT at fault here, and it supports as much of the TV as is possible given the mounting hole locations on the TV.) Overall, this bracket is an excellent value for the Crutchfield price!!
Pros: Very heavy built and well-finished, Good options for either slim-mount or tilt-mount. Flexible mounting holes and adjustable bracket length/width should work for just about any TV it is rated for. Very robust, I wouldn't hesitate to max-out this bracket at its rated 130lbs. Your studs are likely to be the limiting factor!
Cons: I wished the extensions for the vertical, TV side of the brackets could have been used on either top or bottom, without having to use all four or none. It should be more clear that bracket is EITHER slim-mount, or tilt-mount, NOT BOTH. Tilt-mount puts the TV an average distance from the wall for a tilting bracket.
Great mount. Very sturdy and one of only a few that extends so you can hit all 3 studs for a stong and solid mount. Have a 100lb 65" 3D LED Tv and this allows a tilt and worked out better than I had ever anticipated. Best Buy wanted $279 and Crutchfield cake through as always at $149 with a free HDMI cable to boot!
Pros: Solid. Flexible. Tilts. Extends.
Very sturdy, good directions, versatile.
This TV hanger is the best one we could find on the market for hanging our new 70" Sharp. Crutchfield was about half the price of our local Best Buy. The weight limit is 3 times the weight of our TV which gives us more piece of mind.
Pros: The expandable bracket which goes up to 42" allow you to easily span the hanger across 3 wall studs. This means I could put 6 bolts in the wall to hold the TV. Most other brackets are only 32" which is really stretching to reach 3 studs. The 42" width also allows more flexibility in the wall placement while still hitting 3 studs. All of the hardware is included, and it is heavy duty.
This thing is heavy duty. I needed it to hang a 65 inch plasma that weighs nearly 130 lbs over studding that was 22 inches apart. With the extension the mount worked great. If you buy a massive TV you are going to need a serious mount like this one.
Pros: large enough my a huge TV
Cons: It's heavy, so it can be difficult to maneuver while mounting. I wish it had an adjustment for tv leveling like sanus slim mount.
Simple to set-up, mounts easily, and provides peace of mind your high dollar investment is secure.
I highly recommend this (Sanus) company's product. The packaging and individually labelled parts mini-packs could not have been prepared any better. Instructions and diagrams are not lengthy and are easy to follow. The bracket is heavy-duty, clean and obviously well-made. One would normally not get too excited about a bracket, but in this case, especially considering that it's holding my expensive TV, Sanus did it right and I'm very pleased! This is the type of product one would expect Crutchfield to carry -- high quality and excellent value. Thank you!
I had just purchased a Hitachai 55" Plasma, and needed something to hang it on the wall with. After searching around, I found the Sanus VMPL3. The shipping was fast, especially to an APO address. The instalation was easy, and the directions were really broken down Barney style. I highly recomend this to anyone.

Features and quality [ John Dec 01, 2016 ]
This is beefy and holds modern flat screens without any issues. I only wish it came with a long tool to secure the t.v. to the wall. If you live in an earthquake-prone area, you may have to go through a little extra effort, but this mount is solid and adapts to offset studs and various t.v. sizes. [ JOSHUA B Nov 13, 2016 ]
Looked like the best mount for our new TV. [ kevin Sep 22, 2016 ]
This thing is awesome. I will never use any tv mount other than Sanus! [ VTengineer Aug 17, 2016 ]
Expandable to 42" therefore I can screw it into 3 studs [ Joseph R. Jul 20, 2016 ]
The bracket is not very heavy. I think with the proper fasteners it would be fine. [ BRIAN Jun 26, 2014 ]
Bracket definitely needs to be placed in solid studs [ MATTHEW Jun 25, 2014 ]
Brenda, The mount is a heavy and the instructions indicate that special anchors need to be used for metal studs. (not included). In my research, I did find a variety of mounting anchors at the local home depot so mounting is do-able. I would recommend researching other options before making a decision. The mount IS a good one. The issue is the studs you have to work with and the anchors needed to safely mount this hanging apparatus. Todd [ TODD Jun 25, 2014 ]
This a good mounting bracket. Very sturdy and was recomened by our installer for our new Samsung Plasma F8500. Very happy with it. [ GARY Jun 25, 2014 ]
I'm sorry but I have wood studs, the bracket itself is heavy but it is holding up a 70 inch TV feels very secure. [ ANTHONY J Jun 25, 2014 ]
I don't think it's too heavy but am not sure what type of screws should be used to attach it to the metal studs. It is too heavy to just attach to drywall [ STEPHEN Jun 24, 2014 ]
Thanks Matt! [ Bee Mar 06, 2014 ]
Brent - Very much appreciate the feedback. Thank you. [ Bee Mar 06, 2014 ]
No. Everything you need Congress with it. You just need stud and screws. [ MATTHEW Mar 06, 2014 ]
No [ MATTHEW Mar 06, 2014 ]
I do not believe that you need an extension. I measured mine and it is out to 36 now. I have more room to extend it. [ BRENT C Mar 06, 2014 ]
My wall had standard 16" studs and I did not need anything extra. Sorry, but I do not know if the 36" studs require anything extra. Perhaps the manufacturer might be able to advise... Best of luck! [ STEPHEN Mar 06, 2014 ]
