Once this stand was attached, it is just right. I only gave it 4 stars because it was quite difficult to attach properly. It was confusing. But now it is just fine. We got help from somebody who knew how to do these things.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The End Result is nice but it is confusing, at best, the way the bolts used for assembly are labeled in the plastic bags. Also, I could find no other way to "fine tune" the levelness of the TV other than to insert a small self tapping screw of mine into the bracket. I could have placed a magazine under one side of the base but that was not the look I was going for. The swivel function does work nicely.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fairly simple to assemble, and extremely stable. We live in an area prone to earthquakes, so I wanted some insurance in that regard. And we wanted to have a pivoting screen. A big improvement over the stand which came with the flat screen. My only complaint is I haven't been able to get the unit to pivot in both directions.

Pros: Strong and stable, weighted base. Adjustable height allows room for cable box or soundbar.

Cons: Limited pivot range.

I have looked at many on the wall . This allowed jus as much rotation without all the holes in the wall. It has worked perfectly for me. Doug your rep. was very knowledgeable and took his time explaining it to a 82 year old. thank you x buffone

Better than the original stand

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I used this on an older 42" Sony LCD TV and it worked beautifully. It took less than 30 minutes to assemble and install on the TV and this base actually gives the TV more support than the one supplied with the TV. It allows for vertical adjustment so that a sound bar can be placed in front of it and not cover up the remote control eye. The hardware included had everything I needed and it even came with the allen wrenches to put it all together. Solid unit and easy to install.

Pros: Sturdy, easy to assemble, looks great, easy to swivel, vertical adjustment

Cons: None

Features

Swiveling TV Base: The Sanus VSTV1 is a table-top, swiveling TV base that works on almost any surface, and provides improvements over the stands that are traditionally included with flat-panel TVs. By providing swivel and adjustable height, the VSTV1 improves the viewing range by allowing you to point the TV to where you are seated. Its stable footprint is optimal for TV stability on furniture with a shallow depth.

TV Compatibility: The Sanus VSTV1 is compatible with 32" to 60" flat-panel TVs that weigh up to 60 lbs. Your TV must have a bolt-pattern of 100mm-600mm (h) x 100mm-400mm (v). The VSTV1 comes with 4mm, 6mm, and 8mm mounting hardware.

  • Mounting Plate: The mounting plate measures 26.5" (w) x 7.125" (d); and has a horizontal spacing of 100mm-600mm.
  • Vertical Brackets: The two vertical brackets measure 1" (w) x 17" (h); and have a vertical spacing of 100mm-400mm.
Note: Additional hardware may be required for your specific model of TV. For example; shorter or longer screws, thicker or slimmer washers or spacers. These additional accessories can often be found at your local hardware store.

Swivel & Adjustable Height: The Sanus VSTV1 allows your TV to swivel left or right 74°. The height of your TV can be raised or lowered 4.5" (in 1.5" increments).

Stable Base: The stable base has a footprint of 18.0625" x 12.0625"

The base is made of metal. The stand is very robust, and the mechanism swivels.. [ Patrick  Oct 19, 2018 ]
Hello Mike, I purchased, from Crutchfield, the Sanus VSTV1 stand that currently holds very comfortably my 46 inch HD television set that weighs 58.5 pounds and is 10 years old. Since we have small grandchildren, we also have this set anchored with an anti-tip strap that Crutchfield included free of charge. The base of this stand, which is .75 inches deep, appears to be made of a heavy metal which makes it very sturdy. In my non-technical opinion, I would not try to drill any holes in it for mounting. If I were you, I would discuss this issue with the experts at Crutchfield to obtain their opinions before purchasing any mounting stand. They have many different types of stands available for purchase. Sanus also has a toll free telephone number to answer any questions you might have. Since I have little or no mechanical skills, I hired a professional audio-visual firm to assemble and install this TV stand along with many other home theater items that I also purchased from Crutchfield. [ Stephen C.  Oct 18, 2018 ]
Yes. Steel base. I drilled and bolted mine. [ JONATHAN  Oct 17, 2018 ]
The base is plastic and it is about one inch thick. I am not sure if it could be drilled into without cracking but it may be possible with the proper tools. It is pretty weighty so it could possibly work depending on the size of your boat and how rough it gets but it would probably be best to have it secured. [ Claudine  Oct 17, 2018 ]
Everything is metal, so i would assume yes. [ william  Oct 17, 2018 ]
Much depends on the specific model TV, the positioning of it's mounting screw holes, and the size of it's outer chassis bezel. Hi Brian. This mount does have vertical adjustments so it would allow the TV to be lifted slightly to allow for sound bar clearance. [ Jeff  Apr 02, 2018 ]  Staff
Don't know, did not get tv yet [ Peter  Apr 02, 2018 ]
