Sanus' QuickConnect™ system lets you attach the mounting head by simply snapping it into the arm assembly. And you can disengage it with a button push — handy if you need to remove your TV for repairs or replacement.

After installation, the mount's "roll" adjustment lets you fine-tune your TV's position to ensure that the screen is perfectly level. The arm assembly can be also be shifted slightly left or right on the wall plate so the TV is always centered, even if your wall studs are off-center. And the mount's hollow arms let you thread cables through them, keeping them out of sight and free from tangles.

Easy install, seems very sturdy

Maybe the internal cable routing could handle the length of cable required for the full range of motion a bit better, and even on sale it seemed a bit pricey. BUT, install was a snap, the height calculator was bang on, and it feels very sturdy.

Pros: As the title says. The install was very easy. Online height calculator got it just right. Range of motion.

Cons: Price. The range of motion means you need a fair bit of slack in your HDMI, antenna, and internet cables. Using the internal cable routing the cables do hang down a bit but aren't visible from the front.

Sanus makes a fantastic wall mount with very straightforward instructions. Installed with a little help from my wife and it gives me plenty of upgrade-ability with the huge ceiling of screen size this thing supports.

Sanus XF228 Full Motion Mount for TV's 42"-90"

Joseph M from Richland, MI on 4/2/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought the Sanus XF228 to hang a 70" Sony on and it works great. It moves in any direction easily when you want and is really built well. The directions are very thorough and I liked that they pointed out about getting the length of the screws into the back of the TV just right. I had to add an extra washer to each to make it just right. The TV was on a stand but is much nicer on the wall and now there is room for a big center channel speaker and amplifier on the stand below the TV. I had called Sanus when researching wall mounts and they were very helpful. This is the highest quality mount I have seen and would highly recommend the Sanus XF228, and Crutchfield whose price was excellent.

Pros: Excellent all around.

Cons: None

Well made and solid to hang large screens

Fritz from Long Beach, CA on 12/10/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Incredibly well made solid full motion wall mount. Packaged well with no delivery damage. All parts and screws needed for install are included and well organized. Installation instructions are clear and thorough but can also seem cluttered with so much information given. This can also make it easy to miss the important notes during install: most notably once the arms are in the mount they can *easily* fall out of the mount before securing them with the included screws. Advice: immediately secure them with the screws being careful not to bump the arms. Cable management is clean and easy to route, however note the hole openings may not be large enough depending on cable: as an example the OneConnect Samsung cable will not go through. Overall an excellent choice to mount a large screen on the wall. Adjustable in every direction most with little to no adjustments or tools. Use Sanus' website to help with install - particularly the Heightfinder. Excellent resource to determine mounting height and screw locations.

Pros: Strong and stable Fully adjustable Easy install with Heightfinder

Cons: Not as flush against the wall Cable management may not work with larger plugs

Wall Mount From Sanus

lenny S. from New York, NY on 7/18/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

the wall mount is durable and has good range of motion.

Pros: Good range of motion, fairly sturdy

Cons: It is a bit heavy and did require 2 people to help with the install. The brace that goes on the wall could be a bit wider.

Not quite a breeze to install, but great product

Ben B from Navarre, FL on 6/25/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

You get what you pay for. Installation was a bit more difficult that what the instructions led to believe, but mount is VERY sturdy (weighs as much as the tv). Bought it for strength and its articulation, which are GREAT (as advertised).

Pros: Great adjustment and articulation. Very beefy, would hold any tv.

Cons: Mounting bolts for tv did not work for our tv (Samsung 65'), they were too short or too long, so had to purchase new bolts.

A good product, needs a little help in the instruction manual

Tyrone from Maryland, USA on 5/2/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The product was used to mount a Vizio 50" TV. The trick is to carefully follow the instructions, watch the videos and measure, measure, measure. The process of installing the bracket on the wall was not difficult but needs to be done with care. You do not want to miss the stud while drilling! Attaching the TV on the mount was relatively painless. If you have a heavier TV, two people are a must or risk having the TV be one with the floor. The manual was lacking as to how to center the bracket on the back of the TV especially if you are using the Sanus VMA 202 with it. If you center the bracket as illustrated in the manual. You will not be able to mount the sound bar mount. The TV mount has two holes which has to hang somewhat below the bottom of the TV to make this a successful install for mount. Keep this in mind and I hope that Sanus corrects this. Otherwise no issues and I would recommend a purchase if it meets your needs.

Pros: - Sturdy Mount - Flexible options to move the TV into an angle to watch - some cable management options. - Written/Video instructions are helpful except for what I pointed out.

Cons: - Manual needs to be updated to reflect use with the VMA 202 and position the bracket on the rear of the TV for a successful install.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

"Installation is a Breeze" is written on the shipping box. That's Close. You will need to have some mechanical ability as the instructions are written, but knowledge of lag bolt application, for example, is necessary. But I'm satisfied with the security of this mount. It's holding a 70" Sony on our Living room wall. it's not the most inexpensive, but I don't know why one would "go cheap" on the mount with a multi-thousand dollar TV set

Pros: full travel, secure mount

Cons: needs better use of proper hardware nomenclature

Features

Overview: The Sanus Systems VisionMount HDPro Series XF228 is a full-motion wall mount for extra-large flat panel TVs and monitors. The mount can tilt, swivel, and extend in every direction so you can attain the perfect viewing angle. This mounting bracket, black in color, features a built-in cable management system to conceal and protect your cables.

Capacity: The XF228 is designed for 42" to 90" flat panel TVs. It has a weight capacity of up to 175 pounds.

Bolt Pattern: The monitor bracket has multiple vertical slots and can accommodate vertical hole spacing (on the back of the TV) up to 21.625" (550mm). The unit can expand horizontally for extra large TVs. The vertical brackets can slide along the horizontal bars, accommodating a horizontal hole spacing from 5.4" (137mm) to nearly 34" (860mm). The XF228 comes with M4, M5, M6, and M8 size bolts of differing lengths to mount the brackets to your TV.

VESA: Given the mounting bracket's range of motion, it will accommodate the following VESA hole patterns in accordance with industry standards set by the Video Electronics Standards Association:

  • VESA 800 x 400
  • VESA 600 x 400
  • VESA 400 x 400
  • VESA 400 x 300
  • VESA 400 x 200
  • VESA 300 x 200
  • VESA 200 x 200
  • VESA 200 x 100

Virtual Axis: Sanus' patented Virtual Axis tilting technology allows effortless viewing angle adjustment without the use of tools by balancing the weight of the TV on itself. You can tilt the TV up or down with just the touch of a finger, and easily reduce glare and reflections caused by lights or windows. Dual arms allow large TVs to easily extend, retract, tilt, and swivel up to 28" from the wall. The arm assembly shifts left and right on the wall plate so the TV is always centered, even if the wall studs are not. Once mounted, the TV's range of motion is as follows:

  • Tilt: -15° to +5°
  • Swivel: -75° to +75°
  • Roll: -5° to +5°
  • Extend: up to 28" from wall

ProSet: Once installed, the TV may not appear completely level with its surroundings. ProSet technology lets you make micro-adjustments to height and level after mounting to ensure perfect positioning.

QuickConnect System: The QuickConnect system allows the mounting head to snap onto the  arm assembly with one easy movement and unlock with the push of a button. This allows you to attach and detach the TV to the wall mount arm quickly and easily.

Cable Management: The XF228's FollowThru in-arm cable management channel protects and completely conceals all cables without inhibiting movement, even through the elbow.

Optional Speaker Mount: The Optional Sanus VisionMount VMA202 soundbar speaker mount (item # 051VMA202) attaches directly to this wall mount, allowing you to mount your soundbar, digital processor speaker, or center channel with no additional drilling under your TV. The VMA202's extruded aluminum and heavy-gauge steel construction is strong and sturdy, and holds speakers up to 35 lbs.

  • Stud finder
  • Level
  • Awl

2 questions already asked

I do not know about this specific model but I have a Samsung UN65HU8550 UHD TV (flat screen) and a Samsung UN55JS9000F UHD TV (curved) and use the Sanus XF228 for each of them. The Sanus XF228 is excellent. I have all my other devices, surge protector, Roku, Router, and MOAC adapter attached to the XF228 behind the TV using zip ties for a clean no wire look. I recently added a curved Samsung sound bar to my curved TV using the optional Sanus sound bar kit. The entire setup works and looks great. [ Michael  Feb 23, 2017 ]
Yes i use on it [ ISMAEL RODRIGUE  Jan 06, 2017 ]
Should work fine with no issues. [ JIM  Jan 06, 2017 ]
You would have to check he Samsung manual to see what mounting options are available and then match that up with the Sanus mounting options. Curved TVs are a little trickier so take care in verifying compatibility before making a purchase. Good luck. [ TYRONE  Jan 06, 2017 ]
This wall mount fits flat screen TV's up to 80" (I am assuming from the model # that your TV is a 65"). This is the best wall mount on the market, as I now have two of them. To be sure that it will fit your TV, check the mounting dimensions on the back of your TV (or from the user manual specs sheet) & cross-check these dimensions with those detailed with this wall mount on Crutchfield's web page (under "Details"). [ Leel  Mar 15, 2016 ]
Yes it will be a good fit, i have a 65 samsung on it and really like the fact that you can extend it. It is a heavy duty mount very sturdy. [ Saul  Mar 15, 2016 ]
I believe it will. [ jay  Mar 15, 2016 ]
It should but you should check the weight [ David  Mar 15, 2016 ]
