Overview: The Boston Acoustics GTuned G212SS subwoofer enclosure
features a powerful 12" G212-44 subwoofer. The woofer's dual 4-ohm voice coils
are wired in parallel to present a 2-ohm load for optimum power output from Boston GT
Woofer Design: The G2 subwoofer has a co-polymer cone with a
raised polypropylene dust cap and a large foam surround. It features a wrap-around
gasket which gives you a superior seal. The basket features the patented RadialVent
cooling technology which directs the airflow around the 2-1/2" voice coil for
increase power handling.
Enclosure: The enclosure is designed and tuned by the same Boston
Acoustic engineers that designed the subwoofers. The cabinet is made of 3/4" MDF
(medium-density fiberboard), all CNC (computer numerical control) cut with glued
Terminals: The terminal cup is inset into the enclosure to deliver
a tight seal and a finished look. The nickel-plated, heavy-duty spring post terminals
accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, and bare wire up to 10 gauge.
Long Excursion: The woofer has a 2-inch peak-to-peak excursion
for accurate deep bass output from a small sealed enclosure.
SureSet Protection: The speaker terminal is equipped with
two 5-amp ATC fuses for voice coil protection under transient conditions such
as accidental momentary overdrive. Use of the standard automotive style fuses
allows you to quickly service the woofer in case a fuse is blown during use.
Note: The fuses do not protect
against voice-coil failure resulting from long term
high power abuse.
