If you want a car stereo that's more than just a radio and a slot for a disc, you've come to the right place. Axxera's XDMA7200 CD receiver steps outside the bounds of bland to put a whole new set of capabilities in your dash.

Built-in Bluetooth® for hands-free calling
Keep your eyes on the road while you drive — built-in Bluetooth allows you to pair your compatible phone with the receiver. You'll hear incoming calls over your speakers, and the external microphone ensures they'll hear you loud and clear too. Plus, you can stream music from a compatible device through this receiver — no wires required.

Play your music, no matter how you bring it along
The front USB slot on the XDMA7200 gives you some great digital music options. Connect your iPod®, and you'll love the ability to browse through the tunes in your music library with the receiver's control knob. Or you can plug in a thumb drive loaded with MP3 or WMA files if you want to leave your iPod at home.

Want some more media options? The SD card slot behind the fold-down face will handle cards with up to 16GB of music. And you'll find a handy aux input on the front panel too, so you can add just about any audio source to the mix.

More features
You've got some handy tools for sound adjustment, including seven EQ presets, a 2-band EQ, and a sub level control that lets you dial up the bass from the driver's seat. You'll also appreciate the included remote control, especially when your passengers have lots of entertainment requests. Three pairs of preamp outputs let you add amps and subs for a high-powered system.

Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (not included) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this Axxera stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the Axxera, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls.

Note: Bluetooth compatibility of this device may vary, depending on your phone and service provider.

Note: If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver.

Haven't yet been able to install it. There was no "master sheet" for this radio and therefore no explanation on how to remove the old radio nor good description of how to install new one. I'm going to have to wing it and that doesn't make me happy nor comfortable. When done, I anticipate it will be fine and my review much more favorable. After calling them, I am very comfortable that they will be able to fill in the "blanks". They sound reassuring.

    Pros: To be determined

    Cons: Lack of directions.

    Very Nice Unit

DanMc from Holden, MA on 6/5/2013

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I would give this unit a 5, but given that it lacks a dimmer connection to the car, and the blue part of the display is too bright, I'll go with a 4. While the blue part of the display is too bright for night, the info part of the display is too dim for daytime. It's impossible to see if you have sunglasses on. I have used this for about 2 weeks now and just love it. I selected this unit because of the multitude of different inputs, especially the SD Card. The unit works perfectly. As for the diaplay, you can go into the menu and manually dim it down. I don't get why they wouldn't just have one more wire to connect to the vehicle dimmer. I love the ability to load tons of stuff (up to 16GB) on to the SD Card and then I don't have to fiddle with anything. The unit will read through directories and subdirectories. You can scroll through them to find what you want. Sometimes when scrolling directories it will seem to refuse to scroll past a particular directory. I'm not sure what that's about, but I can scroll in the other direction and get to everything I need. Maybe it's the "end of the list?" The Bluetooth works great and the separate mic gives better sound when talking on the phone. It streams audio from my iPhone 4 just fine, whether it's music stored on the iPhone or content coming off the phone's web connection. Some people have commented that it looks cheap. I'm not sure what they're saying makes it look cheap, I think it looks fine.

Pros: SD Card - I've only seen one other unit with this and it was much more $$ and double the height.

Cons: Lack of dimmer input from the car. Kind of silly that you have to take off the whole face plate in order to change the SD Card.

    Very nice installation

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very nice quality and price for this system. The free installation features helped a lot. The Bluetooth feature works great, both for hands-free phone use, and streaming via BT my music to the Axxera XDMA7200. My only concern is that the radio seems to be supported only by the plastic bezel. I put some foam padding below it to lessen the strain on the attachment.

Pros: Great operation, style and value

Cons: Support for mounting in dash seemed lacking.

Worst Ever, got the first unit the volume, scan and Bluetooth calling didn't work. I reset it programed everything to my liking and it erased everything next time i got in the car. Got another unit sent to me and it didn't even work so yea needless to say this thing is terrible. It seems like a lot of people had good luck with it but I only had problems and massive headaches as a result save yourself some time and buy something with a name that has a reputation for quality. The only thing I can say is customer service has been phenomenal and I am staying with Crutchfield for all my future orders as a result.

Great sound and lots of options for the price, the only thing I can complain about is the mounting sleeve that was sent with it. It wouldn't fit even after I trimmed the plastic back. I had to use my old mounting harness from an old radio to install it. It sounds great, has a lot of adjustments and options, blue tooth and USB slots for this price!

Pros: Easy to use and great sound.

Cons: Nothing with the unit itself. Mounting harness from Crutchfield did not fit.

I purchased this player to replace the worn one I had. The price they were asking was fairly inexpensive I thought but then when you factored in all the extras (connectors etc...) the price looked even better. Then there was the installation instructions for the make and model of your auto along with some tech support only a phone call away..that took it over the top. I spent 40 minutes removing and replacing this player in my mini van. Works perfect.

I love the unit; it has great features. It works well and if I couldn't figure something out....there was the answer in the owners manual. I recommend this brand highly. And, the price is RIGHT!

Pros: great price, easy to install with the Crutchfield help sheet, sounds great, blue-tooth works very well. Works great with my I-pod. The CD feature works well, too.

Cons: A little too bright at night (but beautiful blue light), haven't used the cd or sd card yet, but I think the sd card should have been outside rather than where the cd goes.

lots of features in an inexpensive stereo. Two problems I've encountered: extremely loud beep when you power off (like wakes the baby sleeping in the back loud) and clock doesn't display when radio is off. Also, there's a high-pitch whine that I hear from the speakers when I drive, but I don't know if that's the radio's fault or my installation or the wire harness, etc. keep in mind that to use the bluetooth, there is a wired mic that you'll have to clip somewhere in the car. it's ugly but works fine.

Mike from Lynbrook, NY on 3/9/2012

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I went from a 2006 Toyota Corolla stock radio with a 6 CD changer. Installation was ok for a first timer like myself. However there is a little play in the unit on some bumps. I conservatively pulled much more mic wire than I needed into the bizarre inherent empty slot in the Crutchfield Toyoto car kit adapter. Now it's laying in there making it even more improbable that I will ever put anything into the slot. I'm really pleased with how the radio pairs automatically with my 2 year-old Verizon Wireless 3G Multimedia Phone (Samsung Reality (SCH-U820) non smart phone). Streaming music and hands free are great!! My TomTom Go730 would not pair via bluetooth with this radio. It said 'not compatible phone' on the GPS. For some reason when I tried the auxilliary input on my GPS, I experienced feedback. The volume is turned down so I'm puzzled by this. When I connected my phone via AUX it didn't happen. I have used TomTom with another car's AUX input and there was no problem there. Go figure. I haven't as of yet, tried out either the USB or the SD slots. The worst thing about this unit is the AM/FM reception. I used to have stellar reception with the stock unit and I frequently have some noticeable static on this one. Besides the static, there's something that often just doesn't sound quite right on the AM/FM. I can't pinpoint what it is but there's perhaps some random level change. I'm considering returning it but I probably won't.

Pros: Packed with convenient Features: Bluetooth Handsfree calling & Streaming, USB, SD, AUX, CD, AM/FM

Cons: AM/FM reception is inexplicably poor.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit was actually better than I thought it would be. My wife never remembers to bring her bluetooth headset with her, so having something automated was just what we needed. This was super easy to install in our 2004 Pontiac Montana (We did get the GM Bell kit, though after installation, it really seemed like we didn't need it). The hardest part was me being an idiot and doing it at night, wearing down the battery with the dome light. >,< It's been 2 months now and the unit is working well. Other's have mentioned that it feels 'plastic-y' and I would agree. Streaming audio over bluetooth works well with my wife's Droid X and my HTC Thunderbolt. Haven't tried much else. Also, I was blown away by the instructions Crutchfield sent. I've installed several stereo's over the years, so all I needed were the wiring schematics, but for someone that is looking to do this on their own - buy from Crutchfield just for the sake of getting their instructions. Just amazing. This was a better experience than buying through my local car audio shop, for sure. Bottom line - if you don't want to spend a lot on a stereo for your wife's minivan, get this one. If you're lookin to bump some tunes in your lowered, turbo'd '91 crx, maybe get a different unit. And a new car.

Pros: Great unit with Bluetooth capabilities

Cons: A bit cheap feeling - but not enough to really even consider a con. When you're paired with Bluetooth, the clock doesn't display. Or at least I couldn't figure out how to make it display the clock while paired.

    2007 Nissan Versa
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Crutchfield was great with placing the order and shipping. (I received it approx 26 hours after I placed the order ... and that was with the free shipping option). Instructions were great and it was easy to install. This is installed in a stock 2007 Nissan Versa ... so audio quality is obviously limited by the oem speakers (that we did not replace). But it certainly sounds as good or better than the oem stereo we DID replace. The Versa has a double-din opening, but the included Nissan kit worked great to fill the double-din opening with this single-din stereo. I originally ordered a different (supposedly) single-din stereo from another website (Crutchfield does not sell that model) but when I received it, I determined that this other unit could not fit the Versa because this other unit's faceplate was too tall. When it swung open, it would hit the frame around the dashboard. The only way we could have made it work would have been to grind-down part of the dashboard. So, we returned that unit and ordered this one from Crutchfield. This model fits perfectly. Bluetooth seems to work great. We were able to pair it with a Samsung Moment (Android) and it re-connects automatically each time you get in the car (assuming you have Bluetooth activated on the mobile phone). Sd-Card is a nice touch. It allows us to put a ton of songs on an SD-Card and leave it plugged in to the unit. Beats swapping tons of CDs.

Pros: Price, seamless Bluetooth integration, SD-Card slot

Cons: SD-Card slot is located behind the faceplate and you need to remove the faceplate to change the card. A little bit of a pain but not a huge factor. NOTE: CD is also behind the faceplate but you can just tilt-down the faceplate to change the CD ... you need to remove the faceplate to get to the SD-card slot though.

    Compatible with my cell phone

Saved by God's grace alone from Lynnwood, WA on 12/11/2011

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I found out the hard way that not all Blue Tooth car stereos are compatible with my cell phone's blue tooth profile. First, I bought from a big box store which offered zero help. Then, I found Crutchfield on the web and located a model that listed the blu tooth profiles/ cell phones it was compatible with. Additionally, Crutchfield has won me over with their tech service after the sale. With their help I (a not too mechical dude) was able to install. Thanks folks!

Pros: I was upgrading from an OEM tape player...I bought this unit for the USB and Blue Tooth capability. Axxera XDMA7200 is compatible with my cell phone. Everything works! Not the prettiest (slight gap around unit) but very functional in my old car. I like the security of a detachable face (& i think the blinking red light behind the face might ward off would be car prowlers!). Further, hands free cell calls is now the law in WA. This unit will save me the cost of a ticket.

Dual Axxera XDMA7200 - Good Value

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If you're looking for an upgrade to a crappy OEM head unit for your car, this might be your ticket. It plays music almost any way you'd want, but I've found the BT to be a bit unreliable at times for making/receiving calls. Just keep this in mind and you can make a well informed decision. I'm still happy with my purchase. I just keep a dedicated BT in the car instead of relying on the in receiver BT for calls. The sound quality is decent- your speakers obviously have alot to do with that. There is a moderate amount of power coming out of the head unit, but I'd get an amp if you plan on pushing speakers more than 25W or so. I've received compliments on the looks several times. I think it looks nice. It's only blue though-no color change on this model. The microphone for the BT is plenty long enough to mount it almost anywhere in your car. I would advise mounting it directly in front of you though. I recommend this unit. It has worked well for my vehicle (2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee)

Pros: This is an economy head unit at a great price with features you sometimes won't find on units 5 times the price! You can play music almost anyway you'd like. It can do SD cards (up to 16GB), CD's, line in, USB, and BlueTooth Streaming.

Cons: The BlueTooth Streaming works great; the BlueTooth call making/receiving sometimes don't work (Droid 3). My phone will say it's connected, but will not have sound coming through the head unit. Other times, it works great. Not sure what the deal on that is.

    Awesome Value

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love CF. I got a system from CF 5 years ago for my 01 Civic. My amp and CD changer recently died; I wanted a cheap stereo to hold me over till I got a new car. I'd never heard of Axxera but I couldn't pass up this BlueTooth unit for the price. Easy install. Routed mic behind trim panels to the driver side sun visor. All the wire colors on the harnesses matched; service loop for the antenna was easier than plugging directly into unit. I bridged F/R amp out to my front Infinity component speakers (previously ran 100 W RMS/chan from amp). Awesome sound: pure, clear and crisp; plenty loud with no distortion.Radio sensitivity matches my old Sony. Controls are intuitive and well placed. I have Samsung Droid 4G, no trouble connecting BT. First time I used internet radio app on my phone I was blown away that the music just started coming out of the stereo, I didn't have to do anything. The Ax stores last 10 numbers dialed or received-if there is a way to access phone's contacts I haven't found it. I put 75 CDs of music on a 16 Gb SD card (used <4Gb). I couldn't play songs; called CF and they figured out the songs were over sampled. I resampled the .wma files at 128kBPS; they work well except I can't play the SD card songs as loud as the radio/CD without clipping. The manual says SD limit is 1000 songs but I put 1074 songs on and it still works.Only complaint is dim display. I like this unit so much that I'm thinking about getting upgraded version with the better display for my new car.

Pros: Price. Bluetooth. SD card slot. Both mute and pause buttons; volume/menu knob. Intuitive controls. Don't need remote to set any stereo parameter, only to dial phone.

Cons: Dim display even on brightest of 3 settings. Couldn't access phone address book through stereo.

Great low-cost option for BT streaming

    2002 Honda Civic LX
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I needed a basic, no-frills stereo for my commuter car but desperately wanted Bluetooth audio streaming. Aux in was all right, sure, but I'd rather go without wires. This filled the bill. I'm definitely not an audiophile, but the sound quality from this unit is fine. I don't really test the limits of my speakers. The UI is pretty straightforward, which is nice. Taking calls via BT is easy peasy, and streaming audio is dead simple. The initial setup wasn't amazingly great - I had to crack open the manual - but I don't have to do that again, so that's pleasant. The unfortunate thing is that the display - which is a bit old-school and not very modern - won't show a clock while BT audio is streaming to it. Doh! This is the main mode I use (about 95% of the time) and, well, I have to grab my phone if I want to know the time. Note that this isn't the case for AM/FM - the clock will display. Really, really disappointed in that. But on balance, this does everything I need it to do. I don't have to think about it often, and that's enough. Nice stuff.

Pros: * Easy setup. * Straightforward UI. * USB, aux in, Bluetooth, SD, full iOS device control. * Includes an external Bluetooth mic. * Volume knob, not buttons. * Cheap.

Cons: * Can't display clock while BT streaming. * Looks kind of dorky: display is not state-of-the-art. * Can't change display color. * Initial BT pairing setup was clunky.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this unit for my Ford Windstar 1996 GL model after the original tape unit sucked my cassette. I looked through many models and finally decided on this unit based on the features, two line display and seamless integration, streaming audio with my brand new iPhone 4S. The Crutchfield team was very helpful in all aspects - selection to ordering to post install support. I have never ever installed a radio/cd unit before this but I was able to read the reports sent and was able to install it myself. I tested various features like, radio, CD, streaming audio via my iPhone 4s, hands free calling via bluetooth etc and am very happy with its performance and display. The unit has worked extremely well so far for me and my family, dog included. We hope to enjoy our van and its music for a long time.

Pros: Plain and Simple - Loaded Features, Low Price, Easy to Install, Works Great. Family and Dog happy.

Cons: could not think of anything. I saved tonne of money.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased 4 of these for company vehicles: '07 ford escape, '06 ford expedition, and two '11 ford f-150's. So far it functions just as described. Install was easy for all vehicles and Crutchfield service is perfect as always. There is some slight static noise with the bluetooth audio streaming, but not that big of a deal. Also, even on the "dim" setting the blue lights are quite bright at night. We use with iPhone 4, latest operating system (ios 5). Overall, very happy with the product, price and service.

    Nice option to other brands

Paul from Chicago, IL on 10/23/2011

I bought this unit for streaming audio & HF calling. The streaming works automatically & consistently, but the HF calling is a hit or miss. I can get it to work, but it doesn't work automatically. Basically, I have to select the device from the list & tell it to connect. However, when I do that, the HF calling portion works perfectly along w/ the streaming of music. The manual says the unit was tested with the iPhone models & I'm using a Droid X, so I'm not sure if this is a matter of differences in BT technology. If both aspects of the BT feature worked consistently together, I would have given a higher rating.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'll start with saying that Crutchfield is still one of my favorite companies to order with. On to the radio... Overall a very good buy. The eq options are limited but what can you do. The only other issue I've had is with the Bluetooth function. I used the radio to disconnect my phone. I used the radio to re-connect to my phone. The problem I had happened re-connecting. While I was streaming music the radio will not pick up the call. I had to unpair on my phone and re-pair to get everything to work correctly again. I was able to recreate the issue 3 times so I know It's not a fluke. Long story short is as long as you do not use the radio to disconnect everything if fine. I can turn Bluetooth on/off on the phone, go out of range, shut the radio/car off and it will reconnect correctly and everything still functions. Overall I am very happy with the purchase and an added benefit was the wire harness (wire coloring) matched up perfectly with my Grand Prix. Planned or not that was kind of nice.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It went in great, and seems to be a great purchase. the fact that it's less than 150 bucks and has BT, SD, USB, and Aux, is fantastic. Oh, it has a CD player too, in case you're feeling nostalgic. It works well. The BT seems to be a bit sketchy sometimes (ie not able to connect for some unknown reason). Generally, if you use only one device with autoconnect, it's fine. Something is up with the select/power button because it disconnects my device (iPhone) and then I have to start from scratch to get it reconnected. Also, the mic isn't working at times for the phone. I've still got to double-check the connections, but it is supremely frustrating to hear someone and not be able to talk to them, especially when it only happens sometimes, and unexpectedly. Other than that, it's really great. Buttons feel cheap, but look at the price. It's still a great value!

I purchased a Bluetooth adapter (JVC brand) as suggested by Crtuchfield to go along with the radio. This RADIO would power up but would not connect with the JVC adapter. After exhaustive phone calls with a very patient and professional representative, CRUTCHFIELD there was a compatiblitiy issue. The determined that only one (1) radio and bluetooth device they sell wold actually be compatible and work with an IPOD (VS I PHONE) and it was $200 more than the one I purchased. The very nicely offered to give me the more expensive radio for theri cost. BAD Product but EXCEPTIONAL customer service.

I just wanted to upgrade my old blazer with something that had bluetooth. For the price, this unit has a lot of good features. SD card, USB, Bluetooth, and a Aux port. I am extremely happy with my purchase. Super easy to setup and a basic GUI makes it easy to do what you want to do. I set up mine with my Samsung Infuse. It works perfect. I listen to Pandora through my phone, and the sound quality works great. When making calls though the unit, it works great. The mic works well and have had no complaints on my calls. I must add too... The unit looks a lot nicer in person. I like this unit it so much, that I am buying another one for my car. I would recommend this unit to another.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this to upgrade the receiver on my 2001 Buick. I was delighted to get bluetooth capability at this price. Installation was straight forward thanks to Crutchfield's detailed guide and help I received from the 800 number on one slightly vague step. The install kit that was included in the price fit perfectly and gave it a finished look. The bluetooth connection for hands-free calling worked great with my Samsung Intensity. The USB port worked great with my music library and the FM reception was excellent. I was not happy with any of the EQ presets but customizing them was simple and most of the controls on the receiver are easy to find and set. This may not be the receiver for someone who lives for their music but it is certainly more than adequate for someone who is on a budget and wants bluetooth and USB capability,

Subwoofer Level: You can adjust the output level (0-12) of the sub preamp output independently from the main volume.

Source Volume Level: The Source Volume Level control allows a gain adjustment for each audio source (Tuner, CD, Aux and USB). You can set the source volume level (+/-6dB) for each mode, depending on the relative volume of each audio source.
