If you're just not listening to CDs anymore, Dual's XR4120 digital media receiver gives you a wallet-friendly way to enjoy your music collection on the road. You can listen to your favorite AM/FM stations, plug a thumb drive full of music into the USB port, jack your music player into the front minijack aux input, or fold down the faceplate to insert an SD card. It all sounds great on this Dual receiver, thanks to the healthy output of the built-in MOSFET amplifier.
The detachable faceplate features a 10-character black-on-white display that's easy to read day or night. The included wireless remote adds convenience and control, while a set of rear preamp outputs will come in handy when you decide to expand your system.

My stock radio fried out and bought this a replacement! So far so good and I'm changing out the stock speakers fried as well!!
The radio pretty much was what I expected based on reviews; cheap, small & very light. Hard to imagine it is better quality than the Hyundai unit I replaced but it has an aux input which was what daughter wanted. Blue light-annoying,not incapacitating. Buttons for receiver tuning & memory op.s are very small & it is difficult to know what you are pushing while driving. Biggest complaint, something I see no other mention of; the radio tuning is terrible (tuning up & down the band). There are > buttons but the way that they work is if you quickly push you move by one freq. unit, e.g., from 88.5 to 88.9. If you press & hold it 'seeks' running up or down the band & stopping at first strong signal. Continuing to hold the button down does nothing. So trying to get to a particular station is painful. Eg, getting from 88.5 to 100.3 takes a long time (if there are lots of local stations). The user manual describes the operation differently. It says that by holding down the > the tuner will display "Manual" & then quick presses move one at at time & holding down moves fast up/down. I called Crutchfield; they confirm that it should work per manual & that there must be something wrong with my unit. Offered overnight a new one. I was skeptical because my unit worked, just not as the manual described. Got the new one in and it operates the same way. Either the manual is wrong or there is new firmware and I've got an older model. Note : Crutchfield support is superb.
Pros: Perfect fit for my Hyundai 2005 Accent. Crutchfield supply harness adapter, bracket and no charge.
Cons: Cheap. Very hard to tune to a particular radio station frequency. Very small buttons and thin volume knob.
sounds great and great price
For someone installing their first aftermarket radio this one is excellent. It doesn't have Bluetooth but I didn't buy this radio to make calls with so it's doing its job well. Being able to tune only into local radio stations while traveling makes exploring the radio waves much easier. I also can preset my preferred stations, something I struggled to do with the factory radio. But if you find that the locals don't share the same taste in music as you, you can plug in an aux cord, USB, or SD card. I personally prefer the aux cord since I listen to music on spotify. Though be aware that if you charge your phone and use the aux cord at the same time you may get a low static sound. The sound is great as long as your music is of good sound quality. For the money it's a good radio. One thing I'd say one must take note of is the radio's brightness, especially at night. It can be quite intense and it appears there are no settings to control it. This last one is a quirk that may not bother everyone but if you want to view the time you have to press the display button and the time will only show for a few seconds.
Pros: Good sound USB port that is covered when not in use SD card port Aux cord port
Cons: You may get a static sound while using the aux cord and charging your device Radio illumination is a bit intense at night Checking the time can be annoying for some So far nothing else
Product works fine and installation was easy. The only thing I do not like about it is that the clock will not remain displayed. Also the time cannot be checked when playing songs from a thumb drive. But it is fine for the money.
Everything I expected. It's a very basic radio that allows me to have the aux input option. Installation was very easy and for the price I can't complain. Gives option to adjust sound like the bass, treble...etc. I strongly recommend placing the Loud option to ON.
Pros: It's cheap, it looks nice (I personally like blue), has sound control settings
Cons: Can't adjust the blue light but for it's price who cares
I will start with, "You get what you pay for" This is a good sounding system and easy to install. However it has a couple of frustrating quirks. First brightness, you cannot control the brightness, in my Focus, I have to cover the light. Next file limit for USB. max 1000 files. Read manual before buying. My unit has a broken SD slot, out of the box. Feels like the mechanically not right internally. I only care about Aux port, so not going to send back for warranty. Over all OK system for a beater.
Pros: Cheap Easy to install in Ford Focus, actually sounds better than stock radio.
Cons: No brightness control. Limited number of files recognized on USB.
Great radio for the money. Only thing I don't like is you cant dim the lights at night.
Good unit for the money. Only complaint is it won't display the time constantly. You have to hit the DISP button to see the time and it cycles back to the previous screen in 5 seconds.Kind of annoying.
Pros: Good sound, inexpensive
Cons: Programming options for display preferences could be better.
Amazing deal. 40 bucks is a small price to pay for awesome sound. Paired this with a rockfield powered amp and my truck bumps. Love it. Everything went together perfectly.
For 44 dollars I was surprised at the sound quality in comparison to the radio in the vehicle. I had a millennial tell me before I started that I should just take the car to the geek squad and have them do it. Probably saved a few hundred dollars for a few hours work (included new speakers). The kit for my wife's old 99 beetle fit perfect and instructions were easy to follow. This is not a manufacturer's employee writing a review... a real person. Thanks and I rarely give reviews if things work out well.
Pros: Sounds Good and easy to install. Picked up all stations with no static
Cons: Had to grind a little plastic. Instructions mentioned it might happen
Perfect for the price. I purchased this unit for my tractor and didn't want to spend a lot. It has all the features I wanted, plus more. I wanted the radio for news and weather but also wanted to play all my music stored on flash drives and various mp3 players acquired over the years. This unit can also play music from your sd cards. This little unit is exactly what I wanted! The Tech-Line was wonderful and answered all my questions and the shipping was free and shipped within an hour of ordering! This is, by far, the best company I have ever ordered from.
Pros: Plays mp3, music stored on USB devices and on sd cards. Has a built in equalizer and even comes with a remote control.
Cons: None found.
Sounds great, easy to install, performs as advertised.
Cons: display too bright at night
The only problem is that the display is too bright can't drive at night with radio on. Radio does not have a dimmer
Cons: Display too bright
I love the radio I got it fits perfect, Looks cool and simple to use. Shipping was fast and the manual really helped. I love it
So far it has been great for a simple radio. The service was great and everything was in the box that I needed. It made for an easy install.
Pros: customer service and a good price
Cons: none so far
very easy too use, love the blue lighting it has, very easy controls...it is a banging little head unit for the price. You can not go wrong with this unit. plus" way to easy to install you have got to love that!!!!
Pros: easy to use, very easy to install
Cons: does not have bluetooth
Surprisingly good for the money, made my old truck speakers sound really good. Was also able to hook up a sub with the preamp out puts.
Pros: Cheap Ease of use
Nice display and everything works except the USB port. We still gave it 4 stars because of the confidence we had that it would fit because Crutchfield had done the research. It connected easily and fits like a gem! My son is thrilled to be able to listen to his own music instead of static and AM radio.
Pros: Fit perfectly and looks great
Cons: USB port not working with iPhone 7; however, my son could still play his music through AUX.
Works great, easy to install, and I love the SD card reader function.
Pros: Love the blue lighted buttons, and the SD card reader. Sound is an improvement over stock radio. Easy install.
Cons: Only con is the glare on the screen from any light source.
good value for the price. remote clear and one of the best I've seen
I installed it quickly and easily.it sounds great
easy to install and decent radio for the price!
Great addition to my old pickup truck. Fit and look was great. And a lot of features that make this a great value and well worth recommending to anyone needing a good basic radio.
Everything worked as expected except for the USB port. USB port only play music file like MP3 player, if you have an iPhone, this won't play music off your phone or charge your phone. But for the price, can't beat it.
Pros: Works good for the price
Cons: USB port only works with music file player only. If you have an iPhone, it won't work!
Good radio...simple to work with. It does sit weird in the harness and the actual head moves a little bit. For some reason it basically restarts everytime you turn your car off so if you have any radio presets itt clears it. But that could my car I dont know. Its worth the money
Pros: Detachable head Simple design Easy installation
Cons: Radio cable didnt fit right Cant change colors or brightness Resets all radio settings when you turn car off.
Plain Jane receiver unit. Straightforward install. Everything as advertised. Except the remote, I won't use it but it was a nice little bonus in the Bottom of the box
Pros: Cheap! Better than oem, installs easily.
Cons: No Bluetooth or other features from more expensive units. Still a winner for the price
Amazing value! Sounds way better than I thought it would in'03 Subaru Impreza TS! Easy radio install. Always helps to search online to watch someone remove the trim on your particular model, but be wary of the way people do stuff! Instructions from Crutchfield were good. You could spend a lot more and not get a better unit!
Pros: Works well. lots of features, great EQ and power.
Cons: illumination color doesn't change or dim.
Doesn't work with iPhone... I would've loved to know this before buying and spending 2 hours installing
was pretty easy to install. sounds great, and works with out any issues. Can't get better than that.
Only downer was the stereo USB didn't recognize my IPhone 7s so have to use aux port..... other than that sounds great
Nice radio for the price. Installed in my 1986 Ford pickup. Just wanted a radio and a front iPod input. The USB port should charge my phone. Good sound with speakers previously purchased from Cruchfield. Probably better than the original OEM equipment.
Pros: Just what I was looking for. Easy to operate and sounds great in my old pickup truck.
Cons: Installation gear could have clearer instructions
Sounds good. Simple to use. Good price. Looks good. Easy to install (fairly)
Pros: Good sound. Simple to use.
I purchased this for my old work truck. Was easy to install. Only took about 30 minutes. Works great and was cheap enough I don't have to worry about it in my unlocked truck.
Pros: Easy to use. Intuitive controls. Easy to install. Clear instructions. Sounds great.
Cons: No CD player but who need that anyway?
This little unit was all I need to get music back into my 1986 Dodge Pickup. My pickup has only 37K actual miles but the radio was dead. I had a question about wiring. I called the helpline and received immediate assistance. I would recommend this radio to anyone that just needs a solid basic radio.
Good product for the price. Posi-products connectors work great. Had a problem with the radio instructions that came from the factory. (Getting Started) Remove trim ring from unit. Remove 2 transit screws located on top of the unit. Insert the supplied keys into the slots as shown, and slide the unit out of the mounting sleeve. Trim ring is permanent, what transit screws, keys do not work as shown
Cons:Crutchfield response on 7/3/2017 Richard, whenever you encounter a problem, or need help with anything you purchase from Crutchfield, please contact our tech support team right away. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Great receiver for the price. P.S. To make the sound system have the punchiness of the loud mode, without as much volume sensitivity, just turn up the bass and treble.
Very good performance
Cons: Will like to dim the illumination
3rd time I have used this deck and it performs amazingly each and every time.
I couldn't be more pleased with the items I have bought, and when I've had to talk with customer service, they were incredibly helpful. Will definitely be here for all of my car stereo and audio needs.
Pros: Amazing customer service
Easy to install, sounds great, but there is a lot him if I charge while using the aux port.
Great option for a car stereo system. No CD's and I was able to put 20 gig of music on a sd card and it plays great. The only problem with this unit is in bright sunlight it's hard to read the display. It's ok on a cloudy day and great at night.
Pros: Plays good
Cons: Poor daylight display
Great radio, quality that is inexpensive and easy to install! USB port doesn't work with newer iPhones
A fine low cost radio.
It's a lot of radio for the money. And, it's very straightforward and easy to use.
Pros: Simplified functionality ease of installation and is as advertised
Cons: Some of the wiring installation instruction was not very clear. (But could be just because we had a base model vehicle). But all went well.
Quality appears good, like the input options. Remote does not work but who cares. Otherwise satisfied and thinking of putting one in my Ranger.
Wish it had a way to display the clock at all times. Love it for what it is though a nice cheap cost effective receiver.
Excellent radio. Installed very easily and worked within minutes
Pros: Easy install Great sound Very pleased
Cons: None so far
You get what you pay for. Easy install. Sound quality isnt too bad.
Everything about this radio from install to the way it sounds was great
I wanted something inexpensive for an older model pickup I own. This radio fit the bill perfectly.
Pros: On sale,
Cons: I haven't found any as of yet
I was kinda skeptical at first but once I got it I loved it
Easy to install and works great!
Great value for the money, works great!
Great product but AUX will not play well if iPhone /android is connected to charger.
decent radio for the kids first car....they love it and its way better than stock 2000 honda accord lx 4 door
All my wife wants is a simple to use radio that has aux input and this is exactly what she's looking for. Perfect for her.
Pros: Ease of use.
Cons: None so far.
Perfect replacement for the stock unit in my old 1998 Jeep Cherokee. Since we no longer use cassettes or CD's this unit does everything we need it to. We can just hook up our phones via USB and listen to whatever we want. Very easy install and great usability. Only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because you can't dim the unit and it can get a little bright when driving late at night. Other than that I have no complaints. Highly recommend this to anyone who needs a cheap and easy replacement unit.
This radio was for my son's car. It was everything that was advertised. Easy to install, and easy to operate. He now has something he can listen to without breaking the bank.
Pros: Easy install. Does what it is supposed to.
Cons: You get what you pay for. Not anything special.
Works great and easy to install. A bargain for sure!
Simple system and easy to install though the low rating is due to the installation instructions not being great and the screws that I took out of the factory system did not fit or line up with this system. I was able to modify the factory housing to align the screws which is when I realized they did not fit. I was able to make it work so I am overall not unpleased.
I bought this and the Crutchfield recommended complimentary parts for my 2006 Toyota Matrix. I could not be happier. The customer service was incredibly helpful and the kit that it came with could not have made the installation easier. I have never modified my car at all and this was a greater first experience.
Pros: Great Customer Service Easy Installation
Wow - for the Dollars spent this is the best radio, I just got done installing in a 2002 F-150 Std cab, and the wiring harness was a snap, I soldered all the wires while waiting on hold for tech support as I had a quick question, Support was awesome and got me what I needed to Know very quickly, (The extra plug on the back of the radio was for a feature that was not installed in the truck) Took it outside, used the included tools to remove the old radio in less than a min. attached slide from the radio to the install kit, pulled off the not needed face plate from the install kit and broke off the not needed Tabs on the install kit, it all snapped into place, I put the OEM cover back in place - Perfect fit, put some tunes on the SD card and we were rocking. I had replaced the speakers previously with some Pioneeer TS-A6996R's and compared to factory it is awesome, Don't expect $400.00 Quality but for a 15 year old truck it is great. Thank you Crutchfield for an awesome experience all the way around, from the Chat help, to delivery, to the included accy's to the support A+++ all the way around I'm glad I came here to buy! - Install time was less than 45 min, with 25 of the being soldering the wiring harness - Crimp connectors are fine but I prefer to solder. Awesome deal thank you!
Pros: So far it's perfect, all we wanted was to be able to play off a SD card, and have a separate USB to charge the phone, everything else is a bonus and so far it is great!
Cons: None so far, it just works
Great product for the cost and very easy to install.
great and well priced
Awesome! Does everything I need it do.
Good Sound, but the blue light on the display is distracting. A good buy for the cheap dollar.
This unit works great and serves the purpose in which it intended.
For the price, this is a great product. The biggest reason I bought it was to have an AUX input and now I do! It works perfectly. Packaging came with everything I needed and instructions were easy to understand.
Pros: AUX input, buttons, etc work as advertised
Cons: Nothing spectacular
We have a used car and needed a very basic audio and no cd so it worked out fine . Very light and easy installation
works great easy install
Package came early was perfectly wrapped. Everything fit perfectly would recommend buying to all my friends and family haha even strangers.
I am completly satisfied with this product. Sounds even better than the original radio ever did. It plays my SD card and the USB drive perfectly. The radio also works great. And I am using the original speakers that were in my 2000 Mazda Miata MX-5. And it looks good. Great replacement especially for the price, can't beat it.
Pros: Easy to install. Great sound for the price. Installation kit had everything needed to install unit. All wiring harnesses worked well. Will use SD card, or USB drive. Reads WMA files well.
Cons: Couldn't dim display lights for night use. This might be distracting at times. Doesn't lower antenna when using sd or usb sources. Antenna stays up anytime unit is on.
Great sounding radio for the small price! The music on my sd card even sounds great. Wish could acess the music on the sd card a little better, but for small amount of change, its decent.
Pros: good sounding radio and sd player
Cons: difficult to access music library
Awesome love it.. Crutchfield is the absolute best
Worst stereo out there. First of all, it doesn't dim at night so you are blinded by the light. I have to tape cardboard on my dash to hang down in front of it. Second, the volume know froze up; I couldn't even move it with pliers. I have to use the remote but it, too, is starting to wear out. Third, why put a clock on a radio if the clock doesn't stay on? If you want to see what time it is, you have to press a button and then the time will appear for 3 seconds. Please don't waste your money on this stereo. For less money, you can get one locally at the big box retail store that plays CDs and has bluetooth.
Cons: No dimmer controls. Clock doesn't stay on. Poor design. Cheaper radios with CD player and bluetooth at walmart.
The product preforms extremely well. Station selection and separation are great. Easy installation simple. Highly recommend
GREAT DEAL FOR THE PRICE EASY INSTALLATION LOOK LIKE A HIGHER PRICED STEREO
Overall a decent radio, easy to install and re-wire, however; frustrating that no matter what type of USB cable I use, the stereo all displays "error" whenever trying to playback MP3 music files through my phone.
Excellent sounding radio. Instructions for installing radio were vehicle specific and I elected for the custom wiring. I had to call the technician one and he was friendly and he knew exactly how to fix the issue. I would highly recommend.
Pros: Great customer service and technicians
This company is amazing. They sent me everything I needed for no extra charge, and made it as easy as possible to set it up. This stereo is a great value and came in the next day I ordered it as well (which was also free). Everything works awesome and I highly recommend this stereo
Crazy cheap for what is an average reciever, so no complaints. Add the fact that they include hook up parts and it's 1/2 off crazy cheap!u
Worked great,I enjoyed soldering again and it fit just as advertised. I forgot the blue wire for AM, your tech was very helpful. Thanks again
Installation in Ford trucks is a little tricky working behind the instrument panel. Radio works well, USB doesn't read iPods. Number four preset doesn't work on my unit, not sure why. Good value for the price.
Very nice stereo for the money. Easy installation with great support.
Pros: Great value for a great stereo, easy installation.
Radio does everything description says but it is a little hard to find songs or artist if you have them saved on a SD card or thumb drive. Overall good product
A good, basic receiver. If what you need is to play MP3/WMA files using an AUX input or from a thumb drive, this receiver will provide. This was purchased for my son to replace a cassette player in his car, and he's very happy with it.
Pros: Inexpensive Plays MP3s/WMAs from AUX input or thumb drive
Cons: Only basic controls
A great receiver at a great price! This will play music off nearly any device you plug into it. iPhone,iPod, Windows phone, Android, SD cards, USB thumb drives and possibly even more. Buttons on the unit are nicely laid out and the supplied instructions made installation a snap. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is that a dash kit was not suggested along with the purchase, and some shipping SNAFU's that were mostly on the UPS end. Even with that being said, I am completely pleased with the service I received from Crutchfield and the product I ordered.
Pros: Well lit display, numerous methods of operation, excellent sound, ability to charge USB devices
Cons: No supplied dash kit, will not read songs on phone if plugged into USB port (it will charge your phone but you have to use the aux cable to listen to what is on it), owners manual does not mention that radio must be on 'tuner' to adjust time.
This worked great to replace an old radio. Sounds good with my old speakers.
Just what I wanted for a work truck.
Great radio for FM stations, easy to adjust modes and quick install. If you want to use with iphone, this will not work.
Good Stereo, Good Price, Fast Shipping
I thought there would be a memory function with the usb plug in, however there isnt. Your usb music will restart with the same music every time you turn the radio off. Its bright and still a good deal it reads a lot of old music files which works for me.
Pros: Easy to use, bright, has a remote, aux future. Great value for the price.
Cons: No memory future for the usb option.
Easy install, wiring kit was simple and easy to do. Works great for the old work truck.
Pros: Easy install and sounds great
Good product for the price!
Just installed last night. Works great, easy install and looks great. Easy to use. Great option for a budget replacement for stock receiver.
Pros: Cheap, easy install, easy to use, usb plug in and 3.5mm jack are nice features.
Cons: None so far
We were looking for a receiver with an auxiliary input and no cd. The Dual was a great option that was inexpensive. The installation went well as I did it myself. So far it has been a pleasure to use. The auxiliary is handy as I have Hi DAC from my LG phone that really brings out super clarity that sounds great at higher volumes.
Pros: Plenty of power Expandable for a sub simple controls
Cons: Display seems a little too bright in dark. Not adjustable.
Works just as well as I expected it would for the price so can't really complain!
Perfect fit for my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the free installation kit. Took about 30 minutes to install.
Pros: Perfect fit. They ship to Guam. Works exactly as described. Great price for what it does.
Cons: No dimmer for the unit. The blue is very bright at night. The time display is only on for a second.
the radio looks good and sounds good.
Works great. I put it in my 86 silverado and the kit was perfect.
Cons: Can't scan through stations quickly. Can't recognize spotify through USB to phone. I have to use an auxiliary cable
i love it. it has brought life and music back to my car. it is super easy to set up and install.
Pros: the bright blue lights
Cons: none yet
The light Is really bright, the clock won't stay on you have to push a button to get the time, I thought when my phone was plugged into the radio that it would charge my phone, but it only plays the music.
Crutchfield Rocks! This is a great stereo at a great price. Installation was fast and easy with the kit and wiring harness that was supplied with the purchase. I love this stereo and look forward to purchasing more car stereo gear with Crutchfield. Thanks again.
Don't really know what I think yet as I can't listen to it. Physically the radio and carrier don't replace the existing unit without modifications which I have yet to do. Adapter screws are too short, making new ones. The wiring harnesses purchased don't fit anything. No wiring diagram is provided so I am going to have to try and trace out the wires. Not at all a pleasurable experience so far.
Cons:Crutchfield response on 10/26/2016 If you encounter a problem with anything you purchase from Crutchfield, especially a situation like this, please contact our customer service or tech support teams right away. They can help you solve the problem and get the receiver installed and working. We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. This is all I wanted and all I need... just right
Pros: very easy to install and understand... simple but effective
Cons: none so far
WOrked really well. Installed easily. Took only an hour
This is an awesome receiver. I installed this in my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500. The instructions were straight forward and the unit looks very nice. When I had the dash apart I also cleaned the instrument panel. My daughter loves to plug her Iphone and play her music. I use it to play Amazon music from my Android. You cannot go wrong for the price on this unit. You can get the same unit elsewhere BUT...No where near the support that you get from Crutchfield. When it comes to replacing your stereo equipment I will go nowhere else.
I can only receive one or two AM stations and I live in the Philadelphia area. Some of the FM stations fade in and out. Price was the main reason I purchase this receiver but still I expected better.
Cons: Cannot receive AM stations. Even stronge FM station fade in and out.Crutchfield response on 10/4/2016 We're sorry to hear you're having problems with your radio reception. We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Great radio however the instructions are nonexistent. Once you figure it out for yourself it works fine. Told you how to get the stock radio out and how to put it in but no instructions on the wiring.
Pros: Good radio
Cons: Poor instructionsCrutchfield response on 10/4/2016 Ben, we're sorry to hear you had problems with your installation. If you encounter a problem with anything you purchase from Crutchfield, especially a situation like this, please contact our tech support team right away. Got it all exited to instal first of all it didn't fit in my car!!! Had to break things just to get it to fit. They never say the USB dosent work with a phone! Very frustrating that I had to break things just to get it to fit. Wouldn't suggest buying if you have a Subaru Legacy
Pros: Sounds good that's it.
Cons: USB dosent support phones and doesn't fit in my car!!!Crutchfield response on 10/4/2016 Jacob, we're sorry to hear you had problems with your installation. We forwarded your review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
FM reception but AM almost nonexistent. Also had a lot of trouble with the radio side plug which turned out to have a weak connection. Crutchfield tech support is the best I have ever had!!!
Use this item to replace an old cassette radio in my tractor. Love the price, the look, the sound, and easy installation
Pros: Great buy and features for the price with quick delivery
Cons: No Bluetooth, CD etc.
For the price it is it works perfectly as intended, nothing fancy but it does the job
Pros: Simple and easy to use
Great product! Works amazingly, only a little issue with the antenna at first!
Was easy to install in my '79 van. Van didn't come with a factory stereo so didn't need the Scosche ground harness. Like the features and color of the display with just the right amount of brightness. Sounds okay, about the same as the 1980's Yamaha it replaced.
Got it for the Aux input as my factory stereo only had a tape deck which auto-reversed on me. Works perfect and sounds great, volume is awesome. Only downsides are the radio which has no seek function, so it's a pain to find a station on a road trip, and the brightness which as far as I know doesn't have a dimmer and is distracting at night.
Pros: Aux input, USB, easy to install, sound quality, volume, price
Cons: Bright lights, no radio seek function
I mostly listen to talk radio on AM and I' afraid this radio let me down.I always receive two stations at the same time so the selectivity leaves a lot to be desired. My stock truck radio never did this. The FM works fine so no problems there. As others have said the blue back lighting is very bright which is no problem in the day time but very distracting at night.I guess I will listen to more music and less talk from now on.I will say Crutchfield is very good to deal with and sent me everything I needed for an easy installation.
Pros: Good value if you only want to listen to FM.
Cons: AM selectivity is horrible and changing from local to distance did not help.
For the price you pay this stereo is a good deal. Easy to install and looks good. The only problem I have with it is I cannot figure out if it has the ability to dim the stereo lights at nights because they can be kind of bright. But other than that it has good sound quality considering the price.
Pros: Easy to install Good sound quality Lots of features
Cons: Lights are too bright at night
The perfect low budget/great quality radio!
Pros: Low price and works great
Very good install guide. Easy to install. All necessary parts were provided. The unit is functioning fine. Pre-set radio buttons are rather small for manual push! Remote controller is a slow responder. Maybe battery is drained and weak. All in all, for this price, this is a good car stereo that allows me to pipe tunes from my cell phone to the car speakers.
This is amazing!!
Exactly what I had in mind. I can listen to all of my favorite music by using the USB or AUX and it even comes with a little remote.
Install was very easy. The guys at Crutchfield set me up with add-ons to my receiver that made the installation so much simpler than it could have been.
Bought this receiver in April of this year for my 95 Accord Ex v6 to be able to listen to music as the previous owner took out the other radio. It fit perfect, sound quality isn't bad as long as you have decent speakers. Some reviews state that the illumination is bright but comparing it to the headlights folks have nowadays, it's not that bad( though a dimmer would be nice). I only use the USB and the Auxiliary port, no radio and it works fine with my iPhone 6.
Pros: Great radio for the price
Cons: None so far
Great replacement for stock unit
Pros: Ease of installation Sounds better than stock
Best little digital media player around. Does the job without breaking the bank.
Installed easily sound is good but AM reception is weak. If you don't use AM it will work great for you.
Cons: AM reception.
Very affordable great sounding unit
Pros: easy functions and instalation
It looks cool, it sounds great, and it's easy to use
Pros: Everything else
Cons: Press a button to view the time
This is a great am-fm radio
Pros: easy to use / great sound
A very good radio
Works great as advertised. I replaced the sound system in my travel trailer with this to play mp3/wma files.
Pros: compact, easy to install with the included wiring harness.
Cons: none yet
Perfect low cost solution to replace defective radio. Very easy to install with kit and instructions provided. Sound is great. Only issue is the bright light on display; however you get use to it quickly!
Pros: Price and Quality
Cons: Display light
I bought this unit to replace the factory radio which had begun acting up with the power and volume control knob not working at times. This unit was really easy to install and looks and sounds great. The colors on the display are really nice and are much better than the gray and black of the original unit.
Pros: Easy to install, nicely designed and quality build
Easy install, clean look and good function for the price, impressed and would recommend
Really good system for this price. Radio is good and the aux works just fine. I was able to replace the manufacture radio with this one with no problems.
Easily installed, works as promised
Upon ordering the radio it was delivered quickly. Crutchfield immediately sent installation information and contact info in case I needed assistance. With their recommended adapters the installation was very easy and quick. Crutchfield supports it customers and brings value to "Service".
Since i put this head unit in my 2002 jeep wrangler to listen to with the top off, i wasn't looking for something with audiophile abilities. it's great for what i needed-- picks up channels easily, user interface is easy, and the USB capability is exactly what i was looking for. installation was under an hour with the help of my one year old-- that's great! i love it :)
This Dual reciever is a great budget head unit replacement for your vehicle! After placing it into a 1995 Toyota Camry, the sound quality was greatly improved and you can't beat the front mount USB/Aux ports. The only issue I had was with the included instructions, but the Crutchfield Mastersheets were more than enough to install it the ease!
Pros: Cost, aesthetics, ease of use
Cons: Included instructions
Very nice radio for the price. Looks great and easy to use.
Cons: No CD player but I choose it that way
This radio is a great basic radio. I had broken my radio, and I didn't want to spend 100$ to replace it. This radio was half that price, and yet it sounded way better than my other radio. The crutch field team also sent me wiring kits to make sure I had to correct wiring. My car sounds great and I love all the options to customize my car sound.
Pros: Cool style Durable Great sound Lots of customization features
Cons: No Bluetooth No wiring diagrams sent with it
I found everything about getting this radio, the needed attachments, accessories, and adapters to be very easy to use. Absolutely everything I needed was shipped to me in less than 24 hours, I know that is because they are based out of the same state I live in but it just made it even more convenient. All in all, I was riding around with music again about an hour after receiving the package in the mail. I really enjoy the USB factor of this radio too, I literally have my library of music on the go, and it's not to bad shuffling through it either.
This is perhaps the worst stereo head unit I have ever had. The receiver is terrible on FM, and worse on AM. I replaced the stock head unit in my Accord that gave up after 25 years of flawless performance on both AM and FM. The backlighting on this unit is exceedingly bright, the only way I was able to dim it was to take apart the faceplate and cover the LEDs with enough tape to let only a bit of light through. The left channels are so distorted that the volume cannot be turned up more than maybe 25%. The only redeeming factors are the USB and aux inputs, but even with those, the unit is worthless. At first I thought my left speakers were bad, so I kept the unit, and learned to live with the poor AM reception until I could afford a better unit. Now I realize this thing is junk and I flushed good money down the toilet. I have installed numerous car stereos, none have had problems except for this one. Do not waste your money. Stay with something like Kenwood, JVC, Blaupunkt, or something equally well-known.
Pros: USB and aux input. That's it.
Cons: Too many to list, but here goes. Bright enough backlighting to illuminate the entire inside of the car and destroy your night vision. Impossible-to-read buttons. Terrible receiver on FM, worse on AM. Receiver has zero selectivity on AM, and usually locks on to multiple stations simultaneously. Highly-distorted left-channel audio on both front and rear speakers. Poor filtering picks up engine noise. You honestly don't even get what you pay for, since this thing costs the same as a Blaupunkt.Crutchfield response on 5/30/2016 If you purchased this product from Crutchfield, feel free to contact our Tech Support team. Awesome radio. Only wish the USB port would play music from cord or even charge! I knew it wouldn't before I bought it though. Detachable face plate. Works great sounds great
Cons: Radio sounds louder than when aux is in use.
Didn't need no fancy receiver and this made my expectations 10 fold. Beautiful radiant blue light at night was well wort it.
This receiver is very nice for the money. Crutchfield's detailed instructions and included accessories made it relatively easy to install my first radio. Shipping was super fast. I had the radio within 48 hours. I also purchased the PAC-C2R-GM11B Wiring Interface to keep the car's in dash information display.
Pros: Price, Crutchfield Service, ease of install, included features
Cons: Only thing I missed after the fact was having Bluetooth connectivity. I'll be sure to look for a model that includes that for my second car.
It is a great little system, I am still in the process of updating the Truck that this went in as I have the stock speakers still, so I am just waiting on the harness adapters to arrive so I can finish the speaker install, however at the moment the unit does put out good quality sound, wouldn't say its super but this is what I consider an "entry level" unit, I do love that it has the ability for USB and SD cards to be played which has effectively rendered CDs an obsolete technology to me, (partly why I went with a mechless design anyways, also feels a lot lighter weight wise). I have 32GB sd card (does support SDHC). I would say value wise for the most part is good and on par with what I paid for the unit (got it for a lower price point) and it does mostly what I want it to do which is play my music off my SD card with out question. Only "gripe" I have with this unit is that the text keeps scrolling which I do find a bit annoying as I can see it out of the corner of my eye all the time, and that the clock does not have a way to be "always on" so I can have it display the time constantly, I have to hit the DISP button for that, I did call the tech support number for the company as I figure they know the product the best, and they tried there best to help me out to no avail. The second thing I have a gripe with is that I had to set the radio into the euro mode for the 24Hr formatting of the clock other then that its a great unit for the price and works well so far :)
Pros: SD and USB, no CD player to mess with, good price point for the unit
Cons: clock can't be set to display in "always on" state
Nice cheap radio for my old beater
Very easy to install, but no dimmer option is a big minus. I cannot connect illumination wire to my truck and the interface doesn't have a way to manually dim at night.
I love my new stereo and like that I can use my SD card,or mp3 player to listen to my music and I don't have to worry about my CD's getting messed up that's why I choose the receiver and not the CD player.
Honestly, it's amazing for the money. The aux works with my iPhone, but NOT with the USB port. It claims compatibility, but I only get errors (iPhone6+). I'm only comparing this to the stock stereo in my 2000 Dodge Ram Van. I also upgraded the front speakers with a better pair. That said, the sound upgrade is shocking. My wife can't believe how good it sounds.
Pros: Crutchfield has NO competitors. Their customer service is 2nd to none and their instruction manuals are amazing! The install was so easy. Step by step instructions on getting the dash out and how to install everything was a piece of cake. Looks great!
Cons: USB doesn't work with my iPhone. That was the biggest selling point for me and so that is a disappointment.
I use this in my hunting vehicle. It works well and gets the job done
Pros: Installed easily
Used in my 2002 Expedition. Very easy install, very clear and simple instructions. Quality is very good and is very cool looking. Would highly recommend.
Pros: Easy Install and looks really nice
I have a 2/3 replica Wurlitzer Jukebox. Originally, this box contained a 10 CD player. So what, maybe 80 songs? I was getting tired of listening to them over and over when I had about 880 songs from the 50's and 60's. So Dual radio which, in addition to AM/FM has Aux/USB/SD support. I wish there was a way to add images to this review. It looks quite stunning. The installation was pretty much a piece of cake. I made a face plate with a cutout for the radio mount, bolted it in, hooked the radio up up to a 120 VAC to 12 VDC adapter and I was in business.
Pros: Great generic mounting hardware. Great sound Great versatility
Cons: None so far
Fantastic deal for the price...including the install kit! Easy to install. Ergonomics are fine. If I were to wish for something more it would be Bluetooth.
Pros: Great value.
I was very happy to replace my car radio for the price I paid. It included a wiring harness and install kit for free. I was pleased with the radio, and spent about half of what I thought it would cost. Great value!
Not sure you can beat this unit for price and performance. Better sound quality than the OEM by a long shot and nice features including the remote. The only negative found so far is the someone long delay when switching input, changing stations, or using an MP4 player through the USB port. Overall great buy!
Pros: Features - USB and Aux inputs; remote
Cons: muted delay when changing stations, inputs or moving from song to song on an auxiliary device.
I specifically got this because I purchased an older car and it didn't have an Aux or USB port so I could only play music through the CD player. I like to play music from my phone while also being able to charge it in the car. I figured out after installing the whole thing that the USB port doesn't allow you to play music OR charge your phone. My question is, why the heck is it there then? Seems like a scam. Unhappy.
Cons:Crutchfield response on 3/14/2016 Whenever you encounter a problem with anything you purchase from Crutchfield, especially a situation like this, please contact our Customer Support team. Purchases from Crutchfield can be returned or exchanged within 60 days of the purchase.
Overall a solid product, my only complaints are that it looks a little out of place and that the backlighting for the buttons is very bright at night. Other than that it was easy to install and works well. For the price its a good deal.
Pros: installation was easy works well
Cons: too bright
The right radio for our Sprinter application.
Pros: Easy to Install. Fit Perfectly.
Just installed this in my Colorado. It works fine, does what I need it to do. My complaints are for one, it needs a dimmer. It is very bright at night. The area around the volume control is way too bright. My second complaint is the sound quality is off. It has bass and treble control but sounds like it needs a mid control. Maybe it's my small speakers, I don't know.
Pros: cheap, easy to use, can plug my IPod shuffle into it
Cons: brightness of the display distracting, sound quality not quite right. clock doesn't stay on the screen as default. have to press display button to see time but doesn't stay on the screen.
Great product for the price, easy to install.
This unit installed easily in my 98 Ford Ranger. The only complaint I have is the FM tuner. I get some static from time to time, but it could be related to my antennae. But, other than that, i am very satisfied.
For the price you cannot beat it. Good sound quality, The only gripe is the Clock doesn't like to stay on. The clock will not display at all when playing from the USB port.
Pros: Great value
Cons: Clock display
I was quite surprised and impressed!
Pros: Easy to use, nice quality.
I have it installed in a weekend car I have not driven much. Unit worked fine. Sounds and looks good. I do not listen to the radio so only use the sd card. Will need to buy a clock since the built in clock cannot be displayed in sd/usb mode and only briefly when in radio mode. I would prefer to be able to switch the display to time and not have the scrolling song information. I have not tried this unit at night but may resort to covering the display with tape.
Pros: Fairly easy install.sound and appearance.
Cons: Inability to control the display or turn it off. Constant scrolling information is minor distraction.
I like the concept of this unit. I like background music playing all the time. I have found that currently FM stations have to many commercials & playing CDs gets annoying on a trip cause you have to change disks every half hour or so. I used XM for years. Now by putting music I like on an XD card I can have a whole day of music without commercials, station drop-outs, or tunes I dislike.
Pros: Nice looking, Good sounds, easy to install & use, great price.
Cons: The internal pilot lighting is much to bright for nighttime driving (very distracting). My OEM radio had an automatic system that dimmed the lights when my headlight were on.
This radio is being used to play aux output from my Android, and occasionally radio for weather & traffic reports. Works well! Installation was a snap thanks to Crutchfield's free add-ons, documentation, height adapter, harness adapter, and antenna adapter. Just follow the provided directions. Any future car radio purchases will be from no one else but Crutchfield. Crutchfield's does an awesome job; I would not have realized an antenna adapter was needed, and would have had to wait days for one to be delivered. Cruchfield made it such that I had the whole thing installed in less than an hour, and I did not even need to call their free tech support. Troy. #
Pros: Aux port Quality and inexpensive
Nice radio for the price!Installation was a breeze with the free connector and installation kit for my specific vehicle.
Overall this stereo unit is about what I expected for the price. Since I installed this in an older car, I wasn't looking to spend a lot of money. The main feature that I was looking for was the AUX input on the front.
Pros: Easy to install with Crutchfield's excellent instructions and accessories.
Cons: - The blue LEDs are blindingly bright at night. I ended up taking apart the front panel and coloring over the LEDs with a sharpie to dim them a bit. They are still too bright. - The clock only displays temporarily when you press the Display button. I'd much prefer the clock to be visible all the time. - AM receiver seems susceptible to interference and I have trouble tuning into one of the strongest stations in my region
Overall it's a nice little stereo, works great, simple intuitive interface. The remote is a big plus because the buttons are a little small on the stereo itself. Overall I'm very satisfied for the price.
Pros: * Simple to understand and use. * Looks very cool. * MP3, SD Card, and Aux inputs are very nice.
Cons: * Saved radio stations were lost upon battery disconnection. * Clock isn't displayed by default. (And I've found no option to change this.) * Clock isn't displayed when radio is "off".
This is a solid stereo I bought for my teenage son's Dodge pick-up. We installed it together and it was a breeze using the instructions sent by Crutchfield. The sound quality is good and it's super easy to use. The assistance I got from the expert I spoke to when making my purchase was outstanding. Thanks!
Excellent Value. Great Quality and as always, a breeze to install with your install instructions and mounting kit/harness. The only thing, It is a little bright at night. No dimmer control. Other than that is is a great Media Player for under $75.00. I have used Crutchfield since the early 90's and have never been disappointed.
Pros: value, quality, ease of install, simple function controls and awesome sound.
Cons: no dimmer control
This is great arrived on time easy to install. Sounds good too, now thinking I need stock speaker replacement.
Pros: Easy install looks great.
Cons: Non so far
Good radio for the money. Sounds good with Aux In devices which is what I was looking for
Pros: Easy to install, setup and use. Great sound.
Cons: Clock is not the default display and it can't be changed to the clock. The face lighting is much too bright at night and can not be adjusted.
Great product easy to install with kit provided. Looks great and sounds way better than factory
Pros: ease of install, aux connection
Cons: Blue lighting at night is too bright
Easy to install easy to use, unlike the Pioneer , with a 40 page manual that is poorly written ,is almost impossible to adjust .
For a 2002 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, the radio didn't fit and I had to trim the car's radio panel to make it fit. The radio also didn't line up with the screw holes, but taking the DIN cage off made it work, but it's not exactly a 100% fit. Radio works great and sounds great anyway.
Pros: Great features, great look. A little bright. Very few moving parts other than a USB cover, buttons, and dials. Plays MP3 and MP3 playlists just fine. FM reception in New York City metro area is great. For $54, it's fine.
Cons: Didn't fit my car 100%, a 2002 Subaru. Screws didn't line up. DIdn't need the DIN cage. Car fascia needed a bit of trimming. Front is bright. MP3 song names don't display all the way (I get an error). AM reception is horrible in New York City. If $54 is all you have, it's fine.
What a great radio! Very simple and affordable. Fits great into the car and easy to install.
Pros: Aux Input, SB slot and USB Slot, Face is removable
Cons: Is a little bright at night.
Great performance for the price. Do wish the display dimmed and the clock would display continuously, but small issues. Overall very satisfied.
Awesome features for such a low price, usb and pre amp outputs.
Pros: Usb, aux, preamp out puts
Cons: no disc player, but no big deal
Good budget radio if you are looking to upgrade a stock system. Will not wow you with sound or features but it will definitely get the job done
Pros: Price Ease of Use
Cons: None, you know what you're getting with this
I replaced a factory Dodge radio with this unit. The speakers in my truck are the premium Infinity speakers. This unit sounds awesome through those speakers. I haven't used a CD in years, so the fact that it doesn't have one caught my attention. I doubt I'll ever buy another unit that has a CD player or DVD for that matter. The only thing I've found so far that I would change is the location of the SD card slot. It is behind the faceplate. I gave it a 4 for ease of use because the preset buttons could have been a bit larger. And the ding for coolness was due to the display having no color options at all. Still the unit sounds awesome and if your looking for a great sound and don't require a CD player...look no further. The controls on the remote are well laid out and easy to use.
Pros: Great sound Crutchfield made it easy to install with their inclusion of the correct installation parts Again, great sound quality
Cons: I really don't have any unless your looking for very pretty aesthetics. As I said mono-color display
I needed the most inexpensive system that Crutchfield had because I am planning to sell my car in about a year and I could not stand living with the stock radio until then. This Dual Receiver served this purpose very well. Definitely not high end sound but good enough for my 30 minute commute and definitely better than the stock radio. The remote is better than expected so I use it quite often to change station or advance the music because the buttons on the radio are small. The installation to my 2001 Toyota Corolla was super easy. There is no illumination wiring connection which will dim the light during night driving. However, the bright radio lighting at night was not that annoying. Generally, the controls are simple and not complicated...which is a plus. I am happy that the radio reception is decent with very little static to my popular stations. I am using a SD card for my MP3 music and there is no problem whatsoever using this media. However, you have to remove the anti-theft cover plate to insert or remove the SD card. I used the mini aux once but I found that the wiring to my smart phone was too much of a hassle so I ended up using the SD card as my primary music for MP3. For the price that I paid, I definitely can't complain.
Pros: Easy to install, better than stock radio, and very inexpensive. No radio static for most stations. Excellent remote to change radio stations or advance the songs on your SD card.
Cons: A Basic Radio with SD, USB and aux mini input. No dimmer mode for night driving. Small buttons. Basic but acceptable sound quality.
I got music again." Don't it always seem to go, ya don't know what ya got till it's gone".... Proud of myself that I did this change out on my ol' 96 Ford Ranger (with a little help from you tube vids.) Thought I would get used to not having a radio in the car.... WRONG!
Pros: Good deal on whole kit to replace old radio. Seems to be fairly easy to use and set up. Display bright enough for an old fart to read (some people don't seem to like this but it's good with me.)
Cons: Miss my old cassette player....... Just kidding.
Great radio for the money!
Pros: Way better than factory radio.
I was just replacing a stock radio in a Ford Van, so I wasn't looking for anything special, just something that could attach an Mp3 player or a phone through a work van. I've dealt with Dual stuff before, and have never really been impressed with any aspect of them. I went ahead and got this anyway, because the price was right and because Crutchfield provided all of the accessories I needed, which made it easy for me to open the package and get it in the van between jobs. I was pleasantly surprised that not only was everything I needed (save for the couplers to attach the harness) was included, but that the radio sounded halfway decent. My biggest concern is now I'm going to have to replace the speakers now! Great deal, and I'll be coming back for another order.
Pros: Easy install, great sound for the price with plenty of EQ and processing.
Cons: My only wish is that it had bluetooth. I'd swap the SD card ready for a blue tooth reciever, but give the price, I don't mind hooking up a 1/8" cable.
I bought this for my old 1977 International Scout which is driven on rough roads. A CD player is useless and I simply plug in a USB loaded with hundreds of tunes and hit the road. The first road trip was a thousand mile run into backcountry in New Mexico and I found that the radio receiver also pulls in stations very well.
Pros: Simple remote; easy installation; good reception on the radio; good sound; excellent value for the price.
Cons: The display light is very bright and at night on dark highways the glare is annoying.
Great receiver for the price. Fit perfect. I like the SD card slot behind the faceplate. Only complaint is the buttons are a little small.
Pros: Value, ease of installation, SD Card slot
Cons: Control buttons are a little small Can not dim display
more bang for the buck. This receiver works outstanding with an amp. Easy install, functions are perfect. Two thumbs up Dual.
Great unit for the price!
Great radio for the money, radio stations come in clear and crisp, works well with my iPod, overall a great value
Pros: Works with Apple devices
A great deal at this price if you're looking for something with a front AUX port and/or something which can play from a USB stick or SD card.
Pros: Straightforward to install Removable face plate Front AUX in Can have USB stick and SD stick plugged in simultaneously
Cons: Doesn't play OGG files Doesn't dim for night driving
I've got zero complaints. It was pretty straightforward to mount and use, has very good sound, and does everything it said it would.
Pros: Straightforward to install. Good instructions. Good sound. Very good value.
Used it for my 2002 Volvo V40 to replace factory stereo. It was just what I paid for and was not expecting too much. The installation was so easy and installed it less than an hour in the middle of the night. The display was a little bright. The sound quality was good enough.
Pros: Crutchfield supplied everything I needed for the installation and it was part of the price. It would've been more expensive if I orders everything separately from a different online retailer Worth it for the price
Cons: The preset radio button numbers were prett small
My only gripe is I can't play iTunes songs I've downloaded to a thumbdrive... the unit doesn't recognize the files. Otherwise, installation was fairly easy. Had to call tech support to clarify the orange and blue wires on the two harnesses that actually did not get used.
its works great, serves its purpose perfectly. the display is a lil bright at night but for the money its all good
Much better than my stock radio. It does everything I need it to do, including the auxiliary port. I'm very happy with it. It also looks really nice.
For a relatively inexpensive item, you definitely get your money's-worth out of this deal.
Pros: Adjustable bass, treb, med, USB and micro sd slot. RCA inputs for possibility of amp installation.
Cons: DOesn't play CD's
I've only had this installed a short time, but so far it sounds good and I'm happy to have a modern stereo in my 16 year old car at such a reasonable price.
Pros: Good price, nice sound, options for sd card and usb.
Cons: No clock, no dimming function, need to turn up the volume quite a bit to get decent sound out of aux. input.
Overall very easy to install. I needed this new head unit because the stock unit in my Toyota Matrix didn't have RCA outputs for my amp. This was my first stereo installation so wasn't expecting much, but the sound quality is definitely better and I believe the speakers are louder (stock speakers). The blue lights are a little bright at night but really nothing to worry about. After this I'll probably upgrade my speakers and upgrade the head unit again when I get the money. Overall, for a cheap college student it definitely improved the "Coolness Factor" of my car.
Pros: Easy to install and use Better than stock
Cons: Blue light is a little bright (not too much of a con)
Excellent value for the money, I wish I could set clock as default display. poor user manual.
Pros: looks, versital
Cons: cannot set clock as default display
Plays digital media! Very simple unit, fairly simple to operate, limited iPod compatibility.
Pros: Cheap, easy to install, works great.
Cons: Fewer iPod related features than other Dual receivers.
Bought this for my 2002 Ford Ranger to replace the crappy 2 speaker factory radio. I don't use this truck as much as my car so I didn't want to spend much on it. I got this, 2 pairs of speakers, wiring harnesses, and install kit for only $123.00. I wired the harnesses together, and installed the sleeve in the install kit in my house, then basically just had to plug in to factory plug, and snap install kit in to dash and was ready to go. Set it up to my liking and it sounds 1000 times better than the factory unit. Seems easy to use, only complaint is clock does not stay on, you have to push display button to see it, unless I have not figured out how to keep it on yet, but other than that no complaints. Crutchfield supplied wire harnesses make install very easy. Like that you can play music from thumb drive or sd card, don't use cd s so don't need cd player which makes this unit smaller and lighter. This unit does what it's suppose to do for a low price. Also other people have said the LED is too bright or overpowering, but I don't think it is. Like the remote also
Pros: Seems easy to use, remote, sounds good for the price
Cons: Other than the clock not staying on, none
Just got this for the aux in. That works so it met my expectations.
Cons: Does not dim with the other dash lights
I originally set out to find a cheap analog stereo to replace my OEM Stereo. The OEM sounded terrific but sadly crumped, and trying to repair or find another original stereo was not in the budget. I found this stereo locally and thought "Can't beat that price." So bought it, went home and installed it within 30 mins, and it sounds great! There is a noticeable difference in the sound quality, again, not the best, but does exactly what I wanted it to do, which was to play music. I can put music on an SD Card, connect my iphone via the AUX 3mm phone jack, or from a usb device. I tried each of these options and they all worked, the only thing that did not work was the usb to iphone, the stereo did not recognize the iphone and would not play any music. The other nice thing about this, is that if connected via the AUX headset jack, if you get a call it acts like a handsfree device playing the callers voice through the speakers as long as you keep the phone on the dash, they caller can hear you just fine through the mic of the Iphone. Overall, it was the best money I've spent on an upgrade. If it last's a year it will be worth it. Easy to navigate the EQ options, and fine tune the sound to your liking. The Blue display lights are a cool color but are WAY TOO Bright and you cannot dim this, however some electrical tape cut and shaped to cover the volume knob did help. Hey, its cheap and it sounds better than no stereo!
Pros: Affordable, easy to navigate, accepts SD, USB and 3mm Audio Jack input. Many ways to fine tune that perfect sound, EQ options, bass and treble control, FAD, BAL it is all there. Cool Remote. Built in RCA jacks (for those wanting to hook up an AMP).
Cons: LED TOO Bright and no dimmer option when driving at night, but covering with tape or something helps.
Great radio, great price BUT the blue back-lighting is overpowering; I am not a tween or teen and the blue back-lighting is too much...
Said it was compatible with my car and the radio hardly fit. I had to cut a peice off my dash in order for it to fit. Not very happy with it.
Pros: "the radio hardly fit"
It's a cheap stereo that does what it's supposed to. I have no complaints. Doesn't have a ton of features but as long as you've got an aux cable, that's all you really need.
Pros: -price -aux in -usb
Cons: -no cd player (who cares) -little cheap looking, not the best display
This stereo was just what I was looking for: affordable, functional, stylish. It has everything you could want (except CD's) at a very reasonable price. I love the volume knob and controls. I also love how lightweight this stereo is. It replaced a very heavy one.
Pros: Easy navigation, nice color scheme, plenty of presets, very loud, plenty of features, inexpensive
Cons: Lacks enough bass, auxiliary input is much quieter than radio
Installed on my boat in less than an hour and first inserted a USB drive loaded with mp3's. The product powered up and began reading immediately, sounded great and I went through the very easy to use menus to customize the sound.
Pros: Simple to install and easy to use sounds very good and plenty loud even without external amplifier. Remote control means I can adjust from the back of the boat while enjoying the lake.
Cons: None that I have found yet.
Radio sounds awesome.
Sounds good, easily installed. Will not play apple products through USB. Radio reception is also fairly weak.
Pros: Sounds good, easy install, price
Cons: Does not play Apple products through USB, no to iphone, no to ipod etc. Radio reception is fairly limited.
Worked right outta the box. Its a simple device, so there shouldnt be much that breaks.
Pros: Easy to setup, wiring diagram matched up exactly with the recommended harness. Not sure if thats an industry standard now. Sound quality is fine. I just need to upgrade my speakers.
Cons: None so far, its preetttyyy awwwesome!
Great price, great sound, and it was easy to install (once I got the right wiring harness). The first harness that shipped was not for my car, so I sent an email and received a confirmation email within a couple of hours that a new one was being shipped!
Pros: Very good price for some really cool features. I reformatted and loaded a 2-gig SD card (now that I only use 16gb in my camera) with one song library, and have used a USB flash drive, too, and they both work really well. Installation was really easy, and there are lots of presets for both FM and AM. Looks good in my dash, too!
Cons: I do miss having a clock display on the dash...I don't see that option anywhere, but it isn't a great loss. No CD-rom on this unit, but after having to dismantle my old one to retrieve CD's that were stuck in it, I like the SD and USB options better anyway. And for the price, these so-called "cons" are no big deal.
I installed this in my 2008 Toyota Tundra and I had no problems from it once I installed around the beginning of April but at the middle of June the radio just turned of and would not come back on and come to find out that the radio had a short in it and burned my wires basically if you need this for a few months till you upgrade then it is good but if you are looking for long term use I do not advise buying this product and intact it plays twice as loud as my stock and holds bass better then stock so it is an improvement from a stock but not for to long
Pros: Loud and easy install
Cons: Developed short in a few months was trash
Easy to install took about 20 min check out video on YouTube, would advise to buy the extra face plate and wire harness for whatever vehicle you will use .. Mine a 2003 Dodge 1500 , the USB drive is great .. Loaded over 800 songs ..
Pros: Easy install A++
Cons: None at this time
This radio is awesome. This was my first aftermarket installation and it was super easy with some YouTube help. The radio has amazing sound quality. I would highly recommend this radio if you're just looking for something really simple, low budget and don't mind missing out on the CD player.
Pros: Good bass, loud option increases volume by double Simple to install
This system is small but size does not matter at all! It can pack an audio punch! The remote is extremely helpful as all of the buttons and gadgets on the stereo can be confusing. The blue lights are also extremely bright when I'm driving at night. I wish they were a little less blinding. It's a great color regardless and the system is relatively simple to use and has both USB and and aux input options. I love how stylish and simple it is and I can't believe the inexpensive price! It sounds like a $300 stereo. Couldn't be happier with it!!
Pros: Sound quality, appearance, aux input, USB outlet, 6 presets for FM radio, remote
Cons: Extremely Bright blue illumination lights, lots of buttons/options that make the system a little confusing/overwheling
This radio is an excellent choice for those who are looking to upgrade an older dash radio or kit. Detachable face and remote are great features and the sound quality is really good. Price won't break your burn a whole in your pocket either.
Pros: $......nice layout. Easy to use.
Cons: Does not play CD'S but who uses them these days?
The Dual XR4120: a very functional radio, it's simple to install, cheap on the wallet, well-rounded, easy to access, and a bang for your buck. The radio's neat lighting makes an easy-to-find and easy-to-use button system. The only problem I find, is the slow scanning when trying to get to a station. The quality of the radio is really good for what you pay for. It's sound quality is decent, but that is only because of the speakers I'm using with it. The whole installation didn't take roughly thirty minutes. Crutchfield provided the essentials for the installation, which was more than convenient. They provided a wiring harness, instructions on installations, a PDF file, and the mounting kit.
Pros: Cheap. You pay for the quality, which is actually decent. Simple installation. Convenient with the remote. The lights give a nice look and a nice visibility. Came from Crutchfield.
Cons: The radio scanning.
I never have bought or worked with audio systems before in cars. I have a 2010 Crown Vic and I wanted to get an auxiliary cord ability so I could listen to my music. I bought this and it fit perfectly and sounds great. The install was very easy, a bit time consuming, but well worth it. I do have have some buzzing sounds with it but I bought a ground loop isolator and that got rid of the noise that comes about when the car or phone/music device isn't grounded. Besides that I can't complain. It was exactly what I was expecting. Don't forget to get additional adapters and kits so that it will fit in your specific car. The Crutchfield website does a great job of finding the components that you need. Also get some connectors so that you can connect the adapter and the receiver wires. Follow the instructions!
Pros: Cheap, fits in 2010 Crown Victoria, face-plate is removable, sleek design, easy to use, security light behind face plate, SD, USB and AUX connectors along with 24 FM and 16 AM presets.
Cons: Brightness of glow cannot be dimmed.
I got this for my friends olds' intrigue 01 and it fit just like it said and works just fine. Great product at a great price.
Pros: Good price Fits well Good sound quality Comes with remote Shipped quickly
Firstly, being in Hawaii I didn't expect such a timely delivery. Very professional! Love the look. Great coolness factor! Will buy from Crutchfield again
Bought a 1990 Buick LeSabre for work car. Crutchfield suggested this system. Easy to install. Sounds good too.
Pros: Easy to install. Easy to run. Sounds good. Hooked up MP3 player to it. Lots of other options to listen to music.
Cons: Is too bright at night and can't find a way to dim it.
This radio fit very well to replace a dead Factory Delco radio. Excellent reception.
Pros: Inexpensive and easy to install
Awesomeness!!!!! I love it.
works just fine and sounds great. Installed in a 2001 F150
Cons: did not notice no cd player but don't 'need anyway
Impressed. Easy to install. USB port won't recognize my I phone but that's probably because I still have the iPhone 4 lol
This radio does it at, except Bluetooth. But perfect for everything else. Great item for the price..
Cons: No CD player, but who listens to CD? Lol
It's good for the price.
I had to use a dremmal tool to cut the dash out in order to get the unit to fit, but that was not really that big of an issue. When reading the instuctions and they say to "tape off all unused wires"...Tape off all unused wires. It will make the job a lot easier!
Pros: Step by step instructions. Make sure to follow them!
You cant beat it for the price. This deck works well with the polk audio speakers. I love that theres no cd player since i haven't bought a cd in years.
Pros: Aux outlet and usb jack
Cons: No thus far.
this is a great device for anybody that doesn't want to spend much money on a radio. Was easy to install, and easy to use. wish I could get the clock to stay on display.
Pros: Easy to use sounds good looks good
It's an amazing value.
Got this head unit at a really good price. Installed it in my work truck and it does what i need it to do. For the price its a great piece of equipment.
Pros: Price, ease of use
Cons: Feels kind of cheap
Everything works great, except the USB port only reads as sub error. I contacted Crutchfield about it and the customer service rep was a cool guy, said that he would contact the males and see what the issue could be, haven't heard from him yet and it's been a week
Cons:Crutchfield response on 4/6/2015 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up.
This is a good basic unit for listening to the radio and being able to play music from a phone or Zip drive.
Very easy to install and a great deal for the money.
Pros: Easy to install, sounds great, looks good
As long as you wear sun glasses and don't look at the radio directly, the radio is fine. I know this is a cheap radio, but either put in a dimmer function or takeout half of the lights. it will blind you at night the blue light is so bright. other than that it's a decent radio.
Pros: functions for the price.
Cons: the Bright light
This is a very basic unit, but it gets the job done.
Pros: Has all the basic features you need, is lightweight, and small.
Cons: Can't charge a device via usb. Not many customizations or settings changes are possible.
I bought this to replace the aging factory head unit in my car. Easy to install, sounds good, and the digital media options are right up my alley. As some other customers have noted, the blue backlighting on this is *bright*. Not just "I wish this wasn't quite as bright", but "Why am I suddenly in the wrong lane and driving towards a fiery death" bright. So bright, in fact, that after a single night driving experience, I opted to void my warranty by opening up the faceplate and covering all of the LEDs with some adhesive white vinyl to mute the color somewhat. It's much more tolerable now.
Pros: Super easy to install, enough power to maintain good sound with some volume, easy navigation of digital media
Cons: Display is bright enough to allow a blind person to operate it in broad daylight.
Installation is pretty straight forward, although it was not a complete 100% direct fit in my 1995 Ford F350 XL 5.8 Crew Cab, but that could have just been my fault. Adds a nice "updated" look to the old truck. The music sounds great and the level of adjustment is perfect for my application. I do wish there was a way to dim the display, but that shouldn't take away from quality of the product. The price is perfect for what you get.
Pros: Easy installation Great look Wide range of adjustment
Cons: Wasn't 100% direct fit
I'm so impressed with this product! The sound quality is great and it was the perfect price for a broke college student, like myself. Installation was a bit of a hassle with my 2010 Hyundai Accent but it was worth it in the end! Overall, fantastic product for a fantastic price!
Pros: Great sound quality, no need to hassle with CD's since it supports USB, AUX, and SD cards. It even came with a little remote!
Cons: Installation was a bit of a hassle with the parts I purchased. I ended up not even needing to use them.
I bought this stereo for my Honda Accord 2003. I didn't like my factory radio because there wasn't an aux cord. I ordered this along with the kit specialized for my car. It took exactly 3 days to ship and deliver for to my house. Installation was fairly easy and we didn't come across any prolonged problems that kept us from install. Overall good product.
Pros: *Inexpensive high value *Good quality product *Sounds Good *Vibrant Display *Simple Installation
Cons: *May feel cheap at times *No light customization
Nice entry level system for my son's first car
Pros: Cost effective, easy install, cut and dry operations.
Cons: It's a cheap deck. But that's what I was looking for.
Just what I wanted
Pros: Easy to install and use
Cons: Lights are blue only
I bought this for my daily driver which is a 2001 silverado 1500. All I wanted was auxilary input capability and I ended up getting more than that. The sound quality is way better than the oem receiver and it is very easy to use. Best $59 I have spent on that truck.
Pros: Inexpensive, works well, sounds better than OEM
Seems to be high quality for a low priced radio.
I picked this up as a Christmas gift for myself for my 99' GMC Sonoma, expecting what you would get from a $60 radio, and was almost in shock with the quality.
Pros: *Easy to install with the conversion kit that came free with my purchase. *Upgrade from any stock radio.
Cons: *Is only a digital media receiver, so no CD player. (Which can be a pro)
A perfect replacement for my ancient stock radio.
Pros: It glows, sounds amazing, and is easy to use. What else can I say?
Cons: The only con is that you cannot tune between radio stations as quickly as other radios I've used can.
Very easy to install. There is a slight static coming from my speakers when I play music through this device.
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Static coming form speakers
Works as it should
Hooked it up looks good sounds good but won't read my ipod via usb. Can anybody tell me what to do?
Cons:Crutchfield response on 12/17/2014 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Keeping in mind the price, the USB and SDHC interfaces are great to have and as an added bonus the audio input jack is a nice feature for hooking up your phone/tablet in a pinch. Detachable head is important to deter theft. Sound quality is great for price and I'm guessing equal to lower end factory head units.
Pros: Easy to use, loads of inputs, easy to read lettering.
Cons: Unit light at night time is too bright and there is no off feature for this without turning the unit off. Unable to randomize tracks within folders - just randomizes playing the whole drive.
Bought this to replace my dad's factory receiver. It works fine and does the job it's intended to do. Doesn't play cd's but it's not supposed to which makes it very light. He likes it
Pros: Very few features so easy to use for older people and not a lot to break because it doesn't play cd
Cons: I think for what it is the price should be cut in half and it feels very cheap over all and light.
Great System no doubt, but I can't understand how the manufacturer missed a dimming setting on this face plate. It's too bright in the evening and creates a driving hazard. I compare it to staring at my patrol car blues. Definitely an issue to new drivers and their visibility. Fix it
Pros: Sounds great
Cons: Dangerous at night
My fiance just loves his new car stereo and installation was a breeze thank u
Pros: All the equipment needed to install the stereo was at the tip of our fingers
This product is an amazing stereo and it fits perfectly with my car! From Value to Quality! I would recommend this stereo to anyone, it's loud, easy to understand and it's very bright blue! I love it!
Pros: Very loud Bright blue Easy to understand Aux, SD, and USB input Very light Perfect!
Cons: No cons
Just got it installed and ran it through the paces. Very happy with it. Always love the Crutchfield install kits. Had to call twice for a short 30 second technical question each time. Phone answered in about 30-60 seconds. I call my home warranty company for a claim and am on hold 55 minutes! Love the product and the company (Crutchfield).
Cons: None so far.
It is an awesome unit haven't had anything to complain about, would of been cooler if the lighting display was able to change colors
Pros: all of it
Cons: can't change colors
I really can't complain at this price, there's nothing bad or special about this receiver. It is a clear upgrade from stock, but only because it has an aux port. No problems, but nothing about it makes me love it. It's perfect if you're on a budget and want to upgrade from stock, which is all I was looking for.
Pros: Easy to install (mostly because crutchfield sent an awesome kit) Has an aux port Cheap
This head unit is awesome and it works well blue light is a bit bright at night though and USB won't read my iphone
Pros: Value, wiring harness excellent. Radio easy to use
Cons: Bright blue lights at night. Remote also has a limited sensor range
Easy to use and not bad on the price.
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Sound quality lacks a little.
Nice quality and features for a good price.
Pros: Thumb drive and SC card hold a lot of songs to make up for the lack of a CD player. Fine with me.
Cons: MP3 format is picky. Plays fine but doesn't display names. Some of the front panel buttons are small.
Buttons are on the small side and a little crowded. The ability to select radio stations is limited to six per mode, and you must switch between modes (FM1, FM2, AM1, etc) in a sequential manner.
Pros: Good sound quality. Easy to set up the system and easy to set the sound quality.
Cons: Manual is extremely limited in information. Can not set display to show time, only select a display of time with button push.
this is great deck, i bought a older subaru that had a stock tape decker am/fm radio and i wanted something a little nicer that i can listen to my iphone music from and if you sort them this was the cheapest one, now i read the reviews before and almost everyone on this deck was a good reveiw so i was confident, so i pulled the trigger. install was good, it looks great and it sounds 10 times better then the stock one for sure, i wouldnt hesitate to buy this again for my next car .
Pros: looks great sounds great front usb and aux ports,
Cons: volume knob is just a little bit to stubby and really smooth so it makes it not as easy to turn up the volume while driving,
Good for the money! Easy to install and sounds good!
Pros: No more CDs!
I got this deck for my girlfriend, who hasn't had a working radio in any of her cars...ever. I wanted to make sure that she was happy, and the sight of just the box brought her immense joy. As for the radio itself, it works great. It's easy to use, and the lack of CD mechanisms make it to where there's even less to go wrong with it. The faceplate is bright, the controls are straight forward and simple (she only uses the aux port in the front, anyway), and the installation of the radio was cake (both the wiring and the actual insertion into the dash).
Pros: Everything about this radio is as advertised or better.
Cons: The *only* thing I have an issue with is that the standby state of the display defaults to whatever mode you're in, or in case of the tuner, whatever station you're on. You can bring up the clock by hitting the display button, but it only leaves the clock visible for a few seconds before returning to listing the mode/station. A minor detail, but some people may be far more fussy about this than I am (neither I nor my girlfriend consider this a deal breaker)...
Nice unit for a low price
Pros: Good sound. Nice look
Cons: Clock will not stay on
Great radio for my little 2000 saturn sl1, awesome sound quality and easy to install
I had a 1997 Toyota Corolla and the console didn't even have a cassette output for me to use that as a source for music. I bought this console to upgrade my music experience in my vehicle and the installation and sound output is top notch. The price is a steal for the quality of this console and I recommend this product to anyone.
Product works great. Easy operation and looks good
Pros: Great product for the price.
This is an amazing deal for the price. I don't know anybody who still uses CD's so not having the CD drive is completely unnoticeable.
Pros: Easy to use. Easy to install. Looks great and works great for the money.
Cons: Time does not stay on the display at all times.
I got this head unit a while back for my 94' Camry and I have not been disappointed! I got it as a placeholder until I get a new car when my old stereo went out (I can't go without music lol). It added a decent upgrade in sound, but I am really looking forward to something higher quality.
Its an alright quality head unit for the price, does accept usb and AUX but not ipod compatible but thats ok.
Pros: Front usb,AUX
Cons: Non ipod compatible
ok for the money
easy install, good sound, simple operation
Pros: for the money, it's an excellent choice
Cons: only complaint, The blue nighttime illumination is a little on the strong side
Stuck one in my jeep yj since, come on, no one uses CDs anymore. Aux port works great, USB port works great, the internal amp is plenty enough to keep the speakers blazing with the top off. It's cheap enough to replace if water manages to finally kill it.
Pros: Easy to use Simple Basic
Cons: Can't make clock stay on full time
I thought this product was amazing and very easy to install.
I like this unit a lot. It's a big relief not having to fumble with CDs anymore, and a 16gb USB drive can keep me going on the road. For album listening, the aux jack in the front is convenient.
Pros: Sounds better than factory unit, nice display, pretty easy to use.
Cons: Buttons below the display used to navigate radio and music are too small.
I love the new receiver for my truck. It really helps support the speakers in it and is very user friendly
Pros: Great power, user friendly, great sound
Great deck for the price
To be honest, after reading the other reviews, I was captivated almost immediately simply because the only thing I was searching for was improved sound quality. I installed this head unit for my buddy in his '02 Ranger and the difference is incredible - not only does it sound crisp and clear, the old head unit was almost pitiful in comparison. For the price and the free installation gear, I don't think anything could be a better match if you're a bit money conscious.
Pros: Wonderful sound and responsiveness. The USB Input sounds fantastic and delivers exactly what you want to hear without any buzzing or skipping. Installation was a breeze, didn't take more than 20 minutes.
Cons: A tad bit hard to get used to if you're just getting into sound and car audio, but very easy to adapt to over time.
After The second one sent and Installed, bought a new antenna and Ground everything would still BLEED( that what they call it) two channels would come in at the same time. This would fad in and out. could never really figure if it's the bumps in the road or what. The old radio had no problems and re installed it and sent everything back. The service was helpful as far as response and some ideas. The extra money i had to get another antenna ended up a waste. I give then high marks for Service and crediting my account. To bad I like the option of USB port Thanks Jim
I wish the neon bright blue was adjustable. Driving late night or early morning and having it blaring in my face is a little hassle, other than that I love this stereo
Pros: Good looking, inexpensive, easy to install, good sound
Cons: Blue light is not adjustable
I hooked it up for a min just to see what it was like its cool but Im still using my Kenwood at the moment
When I bought this I thought it was going to be a cheap radio and honestly wasn't too thrilled about it. However when I installed it and used it for the first time it was extremely impressed! The build quality is very nice, and its so easy to use and serves as a awesome replacement for someone whos on a tight budget and wasn't something modern and cool for their vehicle.
Pros: Cool illumination, Easy to use, Sounds great, looks cool, built well, remote included, USB/ SD port, AUX jack
Cons: Not as many audio options as other head units
Good value. Works well. Simple to use
Pros: Not complicated for an old dude who just wants a simple radio without all the Georges.
Cons: Writing and icons on the face too small for a senior citizen to read easily.

Needed a new head unit for my vehicle. Ultimately decided to return this receiver for one with more features, but if all you need is a head unit to play your digital music files it is a great choice. No frills and a great price for what you are purchasing. Only complaint is you aren't able to dim the display so it is very bright and a little distracting at night.[ Kyle Sep 11, 2017 ]

I've noticed that when I use an aux cord it doesn't happen, but when I use the radio it pops and is definitely not as clear.[ Paula Jun 13, 2017 ]
Well, maybe. If you have an installation that is not standard. Often cructhfield has all of the connectors you need that would not require any soldiering. They even have modules that let you keep your steering wheel controls. When your click on a radio there is a link button for all the other stuff you may need. They also seed you a data master sheet to help you remove your old unit and install the new one. This sheet(book) is specific to your car.[ james Apr 06, 2017 ]

We do not offer Dual's line of car audio speakers. It's not required to use the same manufacturer for the stereo and speakers in your system. To make the most of the stereo's wattage, you'll want speakers with a high sensitivity rating. This Dual XR4120 doesn't actually feature the ability to change the display or button colors; the display remains black/white and the buttons are illuminated with a blue backlight. However, in the owner's manual I see that it's recommended to "Press the RESET button upon initial installation or if abnormal operation occurs. The RESET button is located behind the front panel." If you're having issues with your display, you should try resting the head unit to see if that helps. If that doesn't fix it, you may want to try contacting Dual's support at 866-382-5476.[ Larry Dec 21, 2015 ] Staff

I'm most certain its large[ Nick Apr 30, 2015 ]
Those answers are not correct, the usb will charge your iphone only when the mode is on USB but here is the kicker...it will not stay on USB mode with just an ordinary usb charge cable connected. I used a kenwood USB+3.5mm jack which on one end it has usb and 3.5 mm jack. Both of those go into the front designated inputs on the receiver. The two wires are joined into 1 on the opposite end which looks like a iphone 4 charger but it passes data and audio. What does that mean to you...iphone charges and you get good sound[ Corey Jul 23, 2015 ]
I've plugged my phone into the usb port and it said it was charging, however if i remember right it died anyways. Could be a fault with the cord i was using or my radio in particular, but if you have it it's worth a shot. Just make sure you observe where your phones charge level is at. Also i have an android phone and don't know if that'll make a difference or not. Good luck to you.[ Joseph Allan Mar 19, 2015 ]
Nope, it doesn't charge, it only allows you to play MP3 songs that are on a usb jump drive![ Evan Mar 18, 2015 ]
No I've had troubles getting apple products to connect with this radio and it won't even let it charge them[ Kai Mar 18, 2015 ]
No you can switch it right from the phone. The USB is only for charging from my understanding, the aux input is what you would you use for music.[ Sarah Mar 04, 2015 ]

Hi Claudio,I own the unit and it does have AM/FM radio.[ VINAY KUMAR Jan 08, 2015 ]
Yes! It comes in extremely clear, and has 9presets.[ Emmett Jan 06, 2015 ]
Yes. It is automatically set to FM1. It has I believe 3 FM slots, FM1,FM2, and FM3. It does AM but sure how many. There is no CD player as that is replaced with a SD card slot, which works with micro SDHC also. A USB port for USB audio and a external 35mm audio jack.[ Jeremy Jan 06, 2015 ]
Yes it does! It's awesome and works perfectly for everything I need! The only con is that the lights on it are a bit bright at night.[ Sarah Jan 06, 2015 ]

Hi Paul, I have the same unit and I pretty sure there is no way to dim the controls nor turn the units lights off without turning the power off. The player is fantastic for the price, but at night its makes my interior annoyingly blue.[ VINAY KUMAR Nov 30, 2014 ]
This was purchased and installed in my daughters car. She has not found a way to dim the display. Sorry[ John Nov 29, 2014 ]
No. We have a few of these installed in our work trucks,( Mack, peterbuilt, international) and driving early morning or late night sucks. It is a bright blue light with no way to dim it other than remove the faceplate or shut it of..[ adam Nov 29, 2014 ]

How do I set the clock on this Kenwood unit? [ Gary L Aug 17, 2014 ]

Clock? I wasn't, aware it even had a clock. Maybe I need to read the manual again.[ William Jul 20, 2014 ]
You have to choose the option for adding the accessory[ Ashley May 23, 2014 ]
The jack fit right into the original and the wires were all color-coded properly. You will need butt-splices or wire-nuts or electrical tape to splice the wires. I had wire-nuts in the basement, so it was a breeze.[ Jerry May 23, 2014 ]
Yes it included everything when I bought the item.[ Landon May 22, 2014 ]
It really depends on your car. The box contains the radio, remote and wires. I found it best to enter in the make, model and year of my car on the home page first. Crutchfield showed which radios were compatible and had pop up windows that let me know what else I needed to make sure I had everything. My factory radio was a double din (the tall kind) and I needed a faceplate surround to be able to use the smaller, single din radio. I also needed a separate part to maintain the chime sounds for the door, lights, etc, and an antenna part. Overall I payed about $130, which was way lower than local places offered.[ Kristin May 22, 2014 ]
Yeah except I don't understand how to put the mount together. Like the two plastic sides I don't understand how to connect that to the frame.[ BAILEY May 22, 2014 ]
When you check out it should give you the option to add the parts needed to install it for $15 and those include everything you need[ Alisha May 22, 2014 ]
If ordering from crutch field, they ensure you get everything you need (no up sell). My suggestion is to use the online chat and have the sales advisor send you a link with all the necessary items. For example, if you say you want this item, the will include the wire harness (free or little charge), trim adaptor if needed (usually free), instructions for your vehicle (free), and answer any questions. By the way, for the price, this stereo is fantastic.[ VINAY KUMAR May 22, 2014 ]
This radio is bottom-of-the-line. This does not mean it is bad. It is great for an old car if you just want to connect your iPod to it. It requires a aux cord-no bluetooth function-no CD player. Make sure you by a quality aux cord from a box store rather than a cheap one. I did this and that cord broke in a day.[ Jacob Theron Apr 29, 2014 ]
You have to plug it in.[ William Apr 28, 2014 ]
No Bluetooth, so yes, aux to play music off your phone. The quality is better through aux than bluetooth anyway, so if you don't mind the cable it's a better option.[ Alex Apr 28, 2014 ]
