Nifty retro looking camera case
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
This case is made of nice leather and fits the X-Pro 1 perfectly. It connects via 2 snaps that go around the strap clips on the side of the camera. This isn't ideal but it makes sense, as you have to remove the camera to get at the battery and SD card. Typically for old SLR's with these types of cases the case would screw into the tripod mount. I personally think this would have been preferable and truly, how hard is it to unscrew one of these to remove a camera from a case. Other than that it's attractive and the leather is of good quality. There's 2 snaps to hook the hood onto the body and then under the lens there's a magnetic catch so that you can uncover the lens to shoot without too much fumbling. I got this case because I want to be able to take my X-Pro 1 around with me and put it in a backpack, or other bag, without having to carry a dedicated camera bag. For this purpose, this case is great. The additional case for the 35mm lens hood is a nice touch. If you're just wanting a case to take one lens around with you for the day, this is a great choice. It fits both the 35mm (without the lens hood attached) and 27mm just fine and you can access all of the buttons and functions as if there were no case. It also comes with a leather neck strap which is definitely nicer than the rubber one that came with the camera. I'm looking forward to seeing how this case wears in. Crutchfield had the best price on this case by far and they shipped it quickly.
Pros: Attractive, functional, durable
Cons: Have to remove the case to get at the battery and memory card. Case attaches via snaps. Screwing in via the tripod mount would have been more secure.
