Overview: The Fujifilm X-H1 is an
interchangeable lens digital camera with a 24.3MB APS-C image sensor for
shooting stunning still images and beautiful 4K video. It has the Fujifilm X lens mount, and is
compatible with the large selection of Fujinon XF lenses. This "body only"
package does not include any lenses.
Tiltable 3.0" LCD Monitor:
The X-H1 has a 3.0" color LCD
monitor featuring approximately 1.04-million dots and approximately 100% horizontal
and vertical coverage in the shooting mode. When shooting, you can choose from a
standard display, or an info display (shooting info, no image). In manual focus
mode, you can select a dual display with a large, full-image window and a
smaller close-up of the focus area. The monitor features 3-way tilting for
easier framing for high-angle and low-angle shots, even when the camera is in
0.5" OLED Viewfinder: The camera is equipped with a 0.5"
Organic LED (OLED) viewfinder with 3.69-million dots and 100% coverage. It has a
0.75x magnification, with a display time lag of only 0.005 seconds and a 100fps
refresh rate. The viewfinder has a diopter
correction dial that allows you to adjust the strength of the viewfinder in
accordance with your eyesight.
Display Mode: There are several display modes to choose from
between the LCD monitor and the EVF (electronic viewfinder). An eye sensor near
the viewfinder automatically senses when you raise the camera to your eye, and
will turn on the viewfinder. It will also turn off the EVF when you take your
eye away. Available display modes include: Eye Sensor, EVF only, LCD only, EVF
only + Eye Sensor, and Eye Sensor + LCD Image display.
Secondary LCD: A 1.28" secondary LCD monitor on the top of the
camera shows 8 camera settings: Shutter Speed, Aperture, Exposure Compensation,
and ISO, plus icons for Film Simulation, White Balance, Image Size, and Shooting
mode. Additional text and icons can be substituted for the default settings, if
desired. The secondary LCD has a switchable backlight if the monitor is too dark
The X-H1 features a 23.5mm x 15.6mm APS-C format, X-Trans CMOS III image sensor with
24.3-million effective pixels. The X-Processor Pro processing engine brings out
the maximum performance of the image sensor with advanced processing power. The
processor is responsible for the camera's blazing fast AF speed (0.06 sec),
shutter time lag (0.045 sec), and 14 fps continuous shooting speed. The camera uses ultrasonic vibration to
clean the image sensor. In the menu, you can select sensor cleaning when the
camera is switched on, switched off, or on command.
IBIS: The Fujifilm X-H1 is the first X-series camera with
In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS). Equipped with a 3-axis accelerometer, a
3-axis gyro sensor, and a dedicated dual processor, IBIS processes and makes
corrections approximately 10,000 times every second to achieve accurate
and fast image stabilization. This 5-axis shake correction (up, down, right,
left, yaw, and rotation) provides the equivalent of 5.5 stops of compensation
when the camera has a Fujinon lens that does not feature optical image
stabilization itself. In addition, the camera's shutter mechanism features its
own suspension to absorb vibrations and reduce noise generated by the operation
of the mechanical shutter.
Recording Media: Still images and movies can be recorded onto
optional SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory cards, up to 512 GB. UHS-I and UHS-II cards
can be used. Memory cards with a Class 10 write speed (10MB/s) or better should
be used when shooting HD movies. UHS-compliant cards with a class U3 write speed
or better are recommended for 4K movies. No memory cards are included with the
Dual Media Slots: The camera is equipped with two SD card
slots. By default, photos are saved to the card in the second slot only when the
card in the first slot is full (sequential). In the settings, you can change to
a "backup" mode, recording each picture to both cards simultaneously, or to
RAW/JPEG mode, saving RAW images in card 1 and JPEG photos in card 2.
Separately, you can select which card is used to store movies. Images (selected
or all) stored in Card 1 can be copied to Card 2, and vice versa.
Bluetooth: The Fujifilm X-H1 is equipped with Bluetooth,
allowing you to pair the camera with your smartphone or tablet through the
Fujifilm Camera Remote app (iOS and Android compatible). You can browse images
on the camera, download selected images from the camera to your smartphone or
tablet, control the camera remotely, and upload GPS location data to the camera.
Wi-Fi: You can connect the camera to smartphones, tablets,
and your computer via Wi-Fi. As with Bluetooth, you can view and transfer
images, remotely control the camera, and copy location information to the
camera. Using the Fujifilm PC Autosave software, you can connect to your PC or
Mac over wireless networks to upload images from the camera.
Still Image Quality: The X-H1 records still images in JPEG
format in 3:2 (for printing), 16:9 (for viewing on a TV), and 1:1 (square
ratios in three sizes and two compression ratios (Fine or Normal). In addition, RAW images can be
recorded from the raw, uncompressed image data from the camera's image sensor.
RAW format images can be uncompressed, or compressed using a reversible
algorithm to reduce file size with no loss of data. RAW files can be processed
in camera, or on a computer using
the downloadable RAW File
Converter EX 2.0 or Fujifilm X RAW Studio application software. You can also shoot a RAW + JPEG image at the
same time, with separate RAW and JPEG files recorded and stored.

4K and HD Movies: The X-H1 can record movies in MOV format
(H.264 with stereo LPCM sound). The camera supports the Digital Cinema
Initiatives (DCI) aspect ratio of 17:9 (4096 x 2160), as well as 4K 16:9 (3840 x
2160), Full HD (1920 x 1080), and HD (1280 x 720). You can choose from the
following frame rates: 59.94p, 29.97p, 23.98p (NTSC), and 50p, 25p (PAL).
Available bit rates include 200Mbps, 100Mbps, and 50Mbps. Individual movie
recording times are 15 minutes (4K), 20 minutes (Full HD), 6 minutes (High-speed
Full HD), and 30 minutes (HD). You can extend movie recording times to 30
minutes at 4K and Full HD with the optional Vertical Power Booster Grip (VPB-XH1).
Panorama: The camera is capable of taking panoramic images by
panning the camera through one of two angle settings. As you pan the camera,
multiple frames are recorded and automatically stitched together in the camera
to create the panoramic image. The Panorama options are:
- Panorama M:

- Horizontal: 9600 x 1440

Shooting Modes: The Fujifilm X-H1 lets you set the shutter
speed and aperture automatically or manually. The shutter speed and aperture
settings combine for four shooting modes:

Electronic + Mechanical Shutters: The camera features
mechanical and electronic shutters to give you more shooting options. You can
manually choose which shutter you'd like to use, or let the camera select. The
Shutter Speed modes and available shutters speeds are as follows:

ISO Sensitivity: You can manually set the camera's sensitivity to ISO
200 to 12800 in 1/3EV increments, using the dedicated dial on the top of the
camera. Extended settings are equivalent to ISO 100, ISO 125, ISO 160, ISO 25600,
or ISO 51200. For movies, you can choose ISO 200 to ISO 12800, with extension to
ISO 25600. The Auto settings will adjust the
sensitivity settings according to the shooting conditions. The higher the sensitivity setting, the better the camera is at
reducing blur in poor lighting conditions, however, high settings can result in
more noise in the recorded images.
White balance is used to preserve natural colors under different types of
lighting. You can select
Auto, Direct Sunlight, Shade, "Daylight" fluorescent lamps, "Warm White" fluorescent
lamps, "Cool White" fluorescent lamps, Incandescent light and
Underwater (requires waterproof case). In addition, you can measure for a white
balance value and save up to 3 in memory (Custom 1, 2, 3) or display and select from a list of color temperatures.
Flicker Reduction: The camera has a Flicker Reduction
function to control exposure and color instability caused by the flickering of
AC-powered fluorescent lights. The function detects the flicker rate and
automatically controls the shutter timing to coincide with peak brightness,
making indoor photography more stable. This function can be turned on or off in
the menu, and is not available when shooting with the electronic shutter.
Film Simulation: The X-H1 can simulate the effects of
different kinds of film, including black-and-white. You can select one of the
- Provia/Standard: standard color reproduction
- Velvia/Vivid: a high-contrast palette of saturated colors, suited
for nature photos
- Astia/Soft: a soft-toned palette of less-saturated colors
- Classic Chrome: for soft color and enhanced shadow
contrast for a calm look.
- Pro Negative Hi: offers slightly more contrast than Pro
Negative Std, making it ideal for outdoor portraits.
- Pro Negative Std: a soft-toned palette. The range of
hues available for skin tones is enhanced; a good choice for studio
Eterna/Cinema: a new film simulation mode for video recording. It
simulates cinematographic films with subdued color and rich shadow tones.
- Acros: for black & white photos with rich gradation and
- Monochrome: standard black-and-white. Also available
with yellow, red, or green filters.
- Sepia: takes pictures in sepia tone
Color Space: Depending upon how you intend to use the image,
you can choose the output color space at the general sRGB setting or the broader
color rendition of Adobe RGB (for commercial printing).
Exposure Compensation: You
can alter the exposure from the value suggested by the camera, making pictures
brighter or darker. You can adjust the exposure from -5.0 to +5.0 EV in 1/3
EV steps for stills, and from -2.0 to +2.0 EV in 1/3 EV steps for movies.
Bracketing: You can take a series of photos with varying
settings for each picture. Bracketing options include:
- AE: Each time the shutter is pressed, the camera will
take a selected number of shots, one using the metered value for
exposure, the others overexposed or underexposed by the selected amount.
- ISO: Each time the shutter is pressed, the camera will
take three shots, one using the current sensitivity setting, the second with
the sensitivity raised, and the third with the sensitivity lowered.
Bracketing amounts include ±1/3, ±2/3, or
- Film Simulation: Each time the shutter is released, the
camera takes one shot and processes it to create copies with the film
simulation settings selected.
- White Balance: The camera will take one shot and
process it to create 3 copies: one at the current white balance setting, one
with the fine-tuning increased by the selected amount, and another with
fine-tuning decreased by the selected amount. Bracketing amounts include ±1,
±2, or ±3.
- Dynamic Range: Each time the shutter is pressed, the
camera will take three shots, each with different dynamic
ranges: 100% for the first, 200% for the second, and 400% for the third.
Continuous Shooting: You can capture motion in a series of
pictures using the Continuous Shooting mode. There are three speeds: High,
Medium, and Low. The frame and number of frames per burst are as follows:

Multiple Exposures: You can create a photograph that
combines two exposures. The first shot will be shown superimposed on the view
through the lens so you can position your second shot. If the second shot isn't
satisfactory, you can retake it before merging the two shots into a multiple
Self-timer: The camera gives you the choice of a 10-second
or 2-second self timer. The 10 second self timer is recommended for self
portraits, while the 2-second self timer is used to reduce blur caused by the
camera moving when the shutter button is pressed.
Interval Timer Shooting: The X-H1 can be configured to take
multiple photos automatically at a preset interval. You can set the interval
between 1 second and 12 hours, the number of shots from 1 to 999, and a starting
Remote Release: The X-H1 has a 2.5mm sub-minijack connection
for adding the optional RR-80 Remote Release. The RR-80 can be used to take
photos when the camera is on a tripod or for long time-exposures. In addition,
third party electronic remote releases can be connected to the 2.5mm, 3-pole
Note: The Micro-B USB 2.0 connector can be used with the
optional RR-90 Remote Release.
Focus Modes: The camera lets you choose how the camera
focuses. The 3-way rotary AF Mode switch is on the front panel of the camera. You can select Single AF, Continuous AF, or Manual Focus using the
focus ring on the attached lens.
Flash Modes: The
X-H1 comes with the EF-X8 external flash, which mounts to the camera's hot shoe.
Other shoe-mounted flash units can also be used, if desired, including those
connected via the Sync Terminal. Flash Control can be done Through-the-Lens
(TTL), Manually, or in Commander Mode if you're controlling remote synced flash
units. You can choose from the following flash modes:
- Flash Auto: flash fires automatically as required by
the shooting conditions, with the flash level adjusted according to the
- Standard Flash: flash will fire whenever a picture is
taken with the flash level adjusted according to the subject brightness.
- Slow Synchro: auto flash combined with slow shutter
speeds (tripod recommended), for photographing portrait subjects against a
backdrop of night scenery.
- 1st Curtain Sync: the flash fires immediately after the
- 2nd Curtain Sync: the flash fires immediately before
the shutter closes
- Auto FP (High-speed Sync): The camera automatically
engages front-curtain high-speed sync at shutter speeds faster than the
flash sync speed.
The X-H1 uses 256-segment, TTL (through-the-lens) metering, where the camera
automatically assesses the scene and selects the optimum exposure. You can
select from four metering options: Multi, Spot, Average, or Center-weighted.
Viewing Images: Images can be
played back one-at-a-time or in multi-frame views. Multi-frame
options include a 9-image grid (3 x 3)
and a 100-image grid (10 x 10) of micro-thumbnails. In the 9- and 100-image grid
views, the highlighted image is slightly enlarged.
Playback Zoom/Cropping: You can
enlarge a still image in the monitor according to the image quality (size).
After you have zoomed in and scrolled the picture to the desired composition,
you can create a cropped image of a picture. Copies will have an aspect ratio
of 3:2, and will be saved as a separate file.
Resize: To create a small copy of a picture, you can select
"Resize" from the menu. The new images vary in size with the original
Printing Pictures: Using DPOF
(Digital Print Order Form), you can designate which images to print, and whether
to print them with or without date. Pictures can be printed as followed:
- Printer or Photo Lab:
plug the camera into a Pictbridge-compatible printer,
insert the memory card into a compatible printer, or take the memory card to
a digital photo lab
- Transferring to Computer:
transfer the images to a computer before printing them
- instax Printer: You can send photos to an optional Fujifilm
instax SHARE Instant Printer for printing.
Power Requirements: The
X-H1 is powered by the supplied NP-W126 Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery.
A fully-charged NP-W126 is good for approximately 310 shots using the LCD (300
with the EVF). When shooting movies, the battery life is approximately 35
minutes for 4K movies and 45 for Full HD movies. The supplied BC-W126
battery charger will charge the NP-W126 battery in about 150 minutes.
Optional VPB-XH1: The optional
VPB-XH1 Vertical Power-Booster Grip can be used to supplement the camera
battery, and to provide a better grip for holding the camera in the portrait
(tall) orientation. An extra set of controls, including a shutter release, is
provided for the camera when the vertical grip is installed. The VPB-XH1 lets
you select a Boost Mode to improve shutter response, and boost the advance rate
in continuous shooting mode. The vertical grip holds two additional NP-W126S
batteries (not included), nearly tripling the battery life. The number of shots increases to
approximately 900 (LCD) and 870 (EVF) when the VPB-XH1 is attached.
and Outputs Notes
USB 3.0: The X-H1 has a USB 3.0 Micro-B port, which is
backward compatible with Micro-B USB 2.0 cables, for connecting the camera to
your computer. Faster data and file transfer is possible when connecting the
camera to a computer that supports USB 3.0 when a USB 3.0 cable is used. With a
Micro-B 2.0 USB cable, image transfer is at USB 2.0 High Speed levels. The
Micro-B 2.0 port can also be used with the optional RR-90 Remote Release. No USB
cable is included with the camera.
Micro HDMI: The camera has a Micro HDMI (Type D) output for
connecting the camera to your HDTV. With the HDMI Output Info Display feature
turned on, connected HDMI devices will mirror the information in the camera
display. No HDMI cable is included with the camera.
Microphone In: You can record sound with an external
microphone connected to the camera through the 3.5mm microphone jack.
Microphones that require plug-in power cannot be used.
Remote Release: A 2.5mm 3-pole sub-minijack is
provided for connecting the optional RR-80 Remote Release.
System Requirements: The X-H1 comes with no camera software
in the box. The following software is compatible with the X-H1:
- Fujifilm Camera Remote: Fujifilm Camera Remote helps
you establish a wireless connection between your camera and a smartphone or
tablet. It is compatible with the following devices:
- Apple: iPhones and iPads running iOS 8.0 and later
- Android: Android smartphones and tablets with
version 4.0 and up.
- Fujifilm PC Autosave: Fujifilm PC Autosave allows you
to download pictures from your camera to your PC or Mac over wireless
networks. It requires the following Operating Systems:
- Windows: Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7 (SP1)
- Macintosh: Mac OS X version 10.7-10.11, and macOS
- MyFinePix Studio: Using MyFinePix Studio and a USB
connection, you can copy pictures to your computer, where they can be
stored, viewed, organized, and printed. It is compatible with Windows 10,
Windows 8.1, and Windows 7 (SP1).
- RAW File Converter EX 2.0: RAW File Converter EX 2.0
allows you to view RAW files on your computer, and convert them into other
formats. It is compatible with Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7 (SP1), Mac
OS X 10.7-10.11, macOS 10.12 Sierra, and macOS 10.13 High Sierra.
- Fujifilm X RAW Studio: When the camera is connected to
a computer via USB, Fujifilm X RAW Studio can use the camera's unique
X-Processor Pro image processing engine to rapidly convert RAW files to
high-quality JPEG images. It is compatible with Windows 10, Windows 8.1,
Windows 7 (SP1), Mac OS X 10.10.5, 10.11.6, macOS 10.12.6 Sierra, and macOS
10.13 High Sierra.
- Fujifilm X Acquire: This software lets you connect the
camera via USB or Wi-Fi for automatically downloading photos to a specified
photo as they are taken (Tethered Shooting). It is compatible with Windows
10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7 (SP1), Mac OS X 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, 10.10, 10.11,
macOS 10.12 Sierra, and macOS 10.13 High Sierra.
