Rear view camera with LED lights license plate mount
Our take on the Accele RVC50 by Crutchfield's Buck Pomerantz
LED lights for a clear view at night
Accele's RVC50 rear view camera gives you a clear view of what's behind you, so you can back up safely in almost any conditions. The camera sports a 120-degree wide view so you won't miss a thing back there, and the camera's built-in LED lights provide better visibility at night. The waterproof plastic case mounts to your license plate for a convenient and simple installation. And the standard RCA video cable allows the RVC50's picture to show up on virtually any video screen.
Note: A rear-view camera provides an additional view when reversing your vehicle. It is intended to be used in conjuction with your rear- and side-view mirrors to give a fuller picture of what's behind you. It is not intended as a replacement for your mirrors.

2 answers Okay. So hooked this up to my soundstream br 651b and nothings happening when I put in reverse. I connected my power wires in the camera to my reverse lights and I connected the video cable to the "camera" slot in the stereo. Also connected the little orange wire to the "reverse" wire on the back of the stereo. Question.. What does The little orange wire that sticks out in the camera and of the video wire attach to? It's currently not attached to anything maybe this is my problem? [ tony May 01, 2016 ]
Probably. I had to attach the little orange wire from the yellow connector at the radio to the wire from the radio marked reverse. It will get the voltage from the other end of the car when you're in reverse and know to switch to the signal from the camera. [ Alfetta159 Dec 23, 2016 ]

have to dill a small hole behind tag [ clarence Apr 29, 2016 ]
I tied my cable to the other back light cables on my truck. There should be a plastic cap/plug on your firewall. cut and "X" then push your cable through. Use silicon to seal the opening when you're done. I still don''t have mine working, I found out you have to tie it to your reverse switch under the dash. [ David Apr 02, 2016 ]
I purchased an RCA cable along with a couple of male to female adapters. I ran the cable through a rubber gromet in the firewall and routed it to the camera along the frame rail of my truck. I wire tied the cable to a factory wire bundle that was secured in the frame rail. I taped my connection points really well. I hope this helps!! [ EDDIE Apr 01, 2016 ]

Can't be that much as you wire them to your reverse lights. [ Gerald Nov 08, 2015 ]
I have not measured that. I doubt that it is very much. It's never been a problem on my wife's minivan. Crutchfield support could probably tell you better. [ THOMAS Jul 22, 2015 ]
My camera had two cables. The black connector had two wires coming out. The black one when to ground and I connected the red one to the power going to one of my reverse lights. The cable with the yellow connector on either end had a short red wire coming out of the yellow connector at each end. I connected the wire from the yellow connector at the rear of the car by the camera to the reverse lamp power. Then I connected the wire from the yellow connector up at the radio to the wire coming out of the radio that was marked 'REVERSE'. Once I did that, then the radio automatically shows the video signal from the camera. [ Alfetta159 Dec 23, 2016 ]
orange wire connect to ground thanks clarence [ clarence Mar 31, 2015 ]
I have forgotten. Crutchfield tech support is crazy good. Give them a call? [ THOMAS Mar 18, 2015 ]
There are two wires coming from the camera. 1 is a power cable. This cable will connect into another adapter that will need to be connected to a power source, such as the reverse lights on your car. The second cable with the yellow end is the video cable. This cable will connect the camera to the display in the front of the car. [ Tyler Mar 17, 2015 ]

Yep i have had it 2 years in the lake tahoe area Nevada .works good for a budget cam. It will fog up as even a $300 cam will nigt vision will be pixalated but still viable [ GREH Mar 02, 2015 ]
Yes, used it for a couple years no problem with water or snow only drawback is that it doesn't kick on unless it senses something behind you. [ SALVATORE A Mar 02, 2015 ]
Yes it is [ KEVIN Mar 02, 2015 ]
The camera will work with that setup, but I would recommend going with a better quality camera. [ TIMOTHY Dec 18, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The Soundstream uses a standard composite video connection for the backup camera, so the Accele will pair up just fine. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Dec 01, 2014 ] Staff
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The JVC KW-50 and most all DVD/Navigation receivers have a rear view camera input which is universal. Therefore almost any backup camera, including the RVC50 will work just fine. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
