Enjoy your music
Of course, you can play your regular audio CDs, plus any discs that you've loaded with MP3 or WMA files. Put thousands of files on a single DVD and you'll keep the tunes pumping, no matter how long your road trip is. You can round out your listening options by using the rear RCA inputs for an auxiliary audio source like your iPod®.

Super easy to install with Crutchfield instructions, this is my first install of a radio I have ever done and it went without a hitch!

Pros: Nice looking unit, real simple to install and setup.

Cons: Must use the dash trim that comes with it, anything thicker will cause the screen to jam. This HU does not have a removable face so be wary if you park a bad neighborhood where your radio could be stolen.

    Display Features

7" Retractable Touchscreen LCD Monitor: The Valor SD-900W single-din in-dash multimedia receiver features a 7" (16:9) retractable touchscreen LCD monitor. The resolution of the display is 480 (h) x 234 (v) for a total of 336,950 pixels. The screen has a 120° horizontal viewing angle (60° left or right), and a 90° vertical viewing angle (30° up and 60° down).

Display Angle Adjustment: You can adjust the display's tilt angle (up/down) to one of 5 positions for optimum visibility.

Touchscreen/Front-Panel Controls: This unit has touchscreen controls with interactive video graphics, making menu easy. In addition to the touchscreen controls, the unit includes frequently used buttons and two rotary-dials along the lower front-panel.

Secondary Display: The Valor SD-900W features a secondary LCD  which allows you to use the unit and listen to music without having to retract the monitor.

Display Type: The unit's integrated monitor can be set to display a 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio image when watching a movie.

Picture Adjustment: You can adjust the touchscreen monitor's Brightness, Picture, Color, Contrast, and Tint when watching a DVD.

Video Lockout: For safety reasons, you cannot view a video source on the built-in monitor as long as the vehicle is in motion. In order to display video, the pink wire (attached to rear chassis) must be hardwired into the vehicle's parking brake light circuit, and the vehicle's parking brake must be engaged.

    Audio Section

24-Bit D/A Converter: The SD-900W is equipped with a high performance 24-bit, 192KHz, multi-bit Sigma Delta modulation DAC which supports sample rates from 8-192 kHz.

MOSFET Amplifier: The Valor SD-900W is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit.

CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the SD-900W are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the SD-900W are as follows:

    • RMS Power: 17 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20-20kHz, 10% THD)
    • Peak Power: 40 watts x 4 channels (160 watts total)

2V/5ch Preamp Outputs: The SD-900W features front, rear, and mono-subwoofer 2V preamp outputs.

Subwoofer Level: You can independently adjust the head unit's mono-subwoofer preamp output volume level from -7 to +7.

Preset EQ: The in-dash receiver features a preset EQ (User, Flat, Jazz, Pop, Classical, Rock, News, Urban, Rave, Movie, Techno) to adjust your audio system to meet the acoustical characteristics of your vehicle & type of music you are listening to.

Bass & Treble: The User mode lets you independently adjust the Bass & Treble between -7 and +7.

Fade/Balance Controls: You can individually adjust between -7and +7 for the unit's Fade and Balance. The unit's mono-subwoofer preamp output is non-fading.

Loudness: You can turn the Loudness function on to boost treble and bass frequencies at low volume levels.

Key Beep: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. You cannot turn this function off.

    Radio Functions

AM/FM Tuner: The Valor SD-900W features a built-in AM/FM tuner with manual, seek, and preset tuning.

48 Preset Stations: You can store up to 48 AM/FM station presets. The unit features 3 FM bands and 1 AM band which can hold 12 radio stations each. The preset stations can be entered manually or automatically. Once your preset stations are set, you can easily scan through only your preset stations.

Local Seek Mode: In the Local Seek Mode, the unit will only tune in stations with very strong signals during Seek tuning.

    Disc Playback

Front-Load DVD/CD Slot: The unit's DVD/CD-slot is front-loading so you don't have to retract the monitor before inserting a disc.

Compatible Discs: The Valor SD-900W supports the following disc formats.

    • DVD: DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW
    • CD: CD-Audio, CD-R/RW, VCD

Compressed Media Playback: The SD-900W also supports MP3/WMA audio files, JPEG still image files, and MPEG video files burned onto DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, and CD-R/RW discs in ISO 9660 and Joliet format.

Control Screens: During DVD playback, you can control certain operations simply by touching an area of the screen. You can touch the top left of the screen (A) to return to the main menu; touch the top middle of the screen (B) to display playing information; touch the lower left of the screen (C) to select a previous chapter; touch the lower right of the screen (D) to select the next chapter; touch the bottom middle of the screen (E) to display the on-screen control; and touch the top right of the screen (F) to display the "GOTO" search menu.

Direct Access: During DVD, VCD, or CD playback, you can use the numeric keypad on the remote control to access a track or chapter directly.

Last Position Memory: If the unit is shut off or switched to the tuner mode while a disc is playing, the next time disc is selected as the source, playback will resume from the point where it left off.

Zoom Mode: Using the remote control, you can change the magnification of the image from normal to Q1, Q2, or Q3. While the image is enlarged, you can pan the screen up, down, left, and right.
