2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Excellent performance and a big improvement over even the Focal KRC 165 coaxials I was replacing. Now I have both front and rear KR2 165's. I get a lot of compliments on how detailed and clear the sound is at high volumes. Even when its not expected. As I was turning down the volume when approaching an intersection, to be courteous to the driver next to me, the driver waved his arms to flag me. I was not sure what he wanted but he yelled that it was very clear and sounded great with the turn it back up thumbs. It was a little awkward but I gave him a nod and re-cranked it!!! I wish everyone like quality tunes like I do. If your music style is classical, country, jazz, acoustical or A Capella etc... where clarity and bandwidth is important at med to hi power these are a very good choice for you. If you plan to just rattle the chassis with bass and talking from your rap songs they will be overkill. I modified the rear sound bar in my 2012 Jeep to fit these and it was worth the effort. (I cut holes for tweeters, installed as much dynamat in the plastic enclosure as was practical, used a ty-wrap system for the crossovers to make them mountable and accessible, and used stock covers for a finished discreet look). Tweeters mount easily and should fit just about any application. They even come with a surface mount bracket if desired. In any case make sure you have a good plan including the crossovers if you are going retro like I did.
