Overview

Our take on the Focal Integration ISS 570

Focal applies the same technology they use in their studio and audiophile-grade home systems to their Integration line of car speakers. The Integration ISS 570 component system includes 5"x7" woofers with cones made from Polyglass, a material that combines the warm sound of cellulose with the strength of glass, so they'll play accurately with no added resonances.

Focal Integration ISS 570 5" x 7" component speaker system

You can use this angled tweeter mount to improve high-frequency dispersion in problem vehicles.

Audiophile-grade engineering

Focal applies the same technology they use in their studio and audiophile-grade home systems to their Integration line of car speakers. The Integration ISS 570 component system includes 5"x7" woofers with cones made from Polyglass, a material that combines the warm sound of cellulose with the strength of glass, so they'll play accurately with no added resonances.

Adjustable tweeter

The separate Integration processed aluminum inverted dome tweeter features a built-in phase plug and wave guide, which act together to increase the power of high-frequency notes and improve the stereo soundstage. Focal includes a low-profile surface mount and an angled mount so you can set up the tweeter for the best possible imaging in your vehicle.

Built-in crossover networks

The crossover networks are built-in, so you don't have those extra boxes to install. Low-profile Integration speakers allow you to put Focal sound quality and construction into your vehicle, so you can enjoy a dramatic jump in performance over your old speakers. Grilles are not included; factory grilles are appropriate for most installations.

Installation note: You'll need a pair of our universal backstraps to install the tweeters in the factory locations.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nice, clean, clear sound. I had a local stereo shop solder the wires included for the speakers to the factory wiring adapters Crutchfield supplies with the speakers for my car. The speaker wires have inline crossovers, nothing external to mount. High db rating so these sound great off of a factory radio. Already had separates up front so I didn't need to do any fancy wiring, just hook these into the factory wires. Great midbase. Now time to get a second set to custom mount in the back of my vehicle

Pros: Sound, mid bass, no external crossovers

Cons: None

Rock Solid Investment.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These really do sound very nice. The only reason I give them 4 stars is because the directions that come with these are a joke. If you aren't completely sure how this stuff works, the provided instructions won't help any. It's like they were translated to English by someone who doesn't speak English... I mounted the tweets on the piller trim pieces using the bullet housing vs the flush mount. And I'm powering them with a MB quart amp that can run 75 Watts RMS AR four channels. I used the Focal AC speakers in the rear of the truck and they sound great as well.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was hesitant to buy this brand because I had never heard of them. I was also not planning on getting a component speaker system as well. However, after reading and trusting the reviews of this speaker product, I made the purchase. I have to say...for the money, I could not have made a better choice. The clarity of these speakers are remarkable. The install looks great, and the overall performance has me excited every time I hop in my truck. I am definitely going to purchase a set for the rears as well. If you are on the fence with these, hop off and buy them. You won't regret it.

Pros: Perfect fit for my Ford F-150 Stealthy installation options

Cons: None yet....

best speakers for the money

Fantastic Component System at a Great Price

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just received and installed this component system today and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The separate tweeters, mounted about shoulder high really did wonders for staging and imaging. The tweets are bright and clear but not overly so. The woofers handle everything that I can throw at them, including doing a very acceptable job at sub-bass since I don't have a separate sub-woofer. Just as good was getting a set of Focal speakers at this price. To me, it's a fantastic bargain. I couldn't recommend this component set more. You won't be disappointed.

Pros: Great bargain; bright clear tweeters; good mid-bass and even sub-bass performance; fantastic imaging and sound stage.

Cons: None.

Amazing

Woofer

Polyglass Cone: The woofer cone has a cellulose pulp base and is coated with a uniform deposit of hollow glass microballs. The addition of the Polyglass layer significantly increases the cone's rigidity without adding much weight. This combination takes advantage of the accuracy and neutrality of the hard outer surface, but maintains the superior damping characteristics of the cellulose pulp.

Surround: The butyl rubber surround is resistant to ultraviolet rays, temperature extremes, and humidity to add to the speaker's reliability and longevity.

Phase Plug: The bullet-shaped phase plug in the center of the woofer ensures a smooth, flat off-axis frequency response by preventing the high frequency sound waves emanating from one side of the cone from interfering with sound waves from the other side of the cone.

Voice Coil: The voice coil is wound around a 1" diameter low-mass Kapton former, ensuring no coil deformation.

Mounting Applications: Focal describes this speaker as a 5x7, but it also fits many 6x8 applications. Please check the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit.

Crossovers: The included 7" woofer wires have integrated crossovers. The woofer ends of the wires have female quick-slides that easily connect to the woofer terminals.

Tweeter

Inverted Dome Tweeter: The tweeter is an inverted aluminum dome, producing a broad sound stage. The tweeter has a Neodymium magnet to provide a powerful magnetic field for the voice coil, while still maintaining the tweeter's compact dimensions.

Mounting Options: The tweeters include two types of surface mount housings, one low profile and one angled:

Flush MountLow Profile Surface MountAngled Surface Mount
Mounting Height0.3"0.894"1.933"
Mounting Depth0.55"0.875" (screw depth)0.875" (screw depth)
Frame Diameter1.871"1.88"N/A
Cutout Diameter1.67"N/AN/A
WidthN/AN/A1.895"
Surface DepthN/AN/A2.839"

Crossovers: The included 19" tweeter wires have integrated crossovers. The tweeter ends of the wires have quick-slide terminals that easily connect to the wires soldered to the tweeters. The input end of each wire has three leads, a negative and two positives. The positive leads are labeled Car and Display, with a lower output level from the Car lead (useful because the placement of the woofer in a typical car installation requires the tweeter output be lowered to maintain a balanced sound).

Wanted good sounds for the RV[ William  Mar 13, 2016 ]
Focal is an excellent speaker going to compare the sound between the two[ Wayne  Feb 27, 2016 ]

Yes. The tweeters can be flush mounted; that is, mounted without the tweeter housings.[ THOMAS  Jun 14, 2016 ]
Kevan, I'm not sure about this model, but I have seen Focals flush mounted. Flush mount bracket does not come in this kit, but you might be able to get it from Focal separately.[ chris  Jun 09, 2016 ]
Yes I used my existing factory tweeter mounts. I had to remove the outer casing and trim the hole in my factory panel a little and got s real nice snug fit. I have a 2011 f150. Love the speakers by the way! Good luck hope this helps[ Dustin  Jun 09, 2016 ]
Yes, mine are.[ William  Jun 09, 2016 ]

I don't think so there still in the box opened briefly did not see anything they come sealed well[ arturo  Feb 16, 2015 ]
That's the way I installed them. They work great. I did not try it the other way.[ Stephen  Jan 18, 2015 ]
That is correct. Tinned wire makes it easier to solder or crimp. Soldered mine. Driving mine with MTX amp 60 watts rms. Great sound without the cross over headache.[ Jesse  Jan 18, 2015 ]
hey Greg,As long as you don't wire the woofer crossover to the tweeter, or the tweeter crossover to the woofer, the direction doesn't matter.I took the filters apart to examine and modify them. The woofer filter is a single inductor, and the tweeter is a capacitor in series with a single resistor. In fact, I replaced the little tiny capacitors in the tweeter filters with more expensive ones, and I'm pretty sure I put them back together with one of them the way it came and the other reversed in reference to the side of the circuit the resistor was on. I doesn't really change anything. Most capacitors, inductors, and resistors are +/- interchangeable. You also get the same electrical result if you have a series circuit with a capacitor on the + side and a resistor on the - side, or a resistor on the + side and a capacitor on the - side. It's all the same!Enjoy![ chris  Jan 18, 2015 ]
If memory serves me, the connectors are designed to clip directly to the speaker terminals.[ Robert  Jan 18, 2015 ]
