Boss Audio's BV6824B DVD receiver offers a great solution if you're not interested in having a touchscreen display in the dash, but want to keep the troops entertained during a long road trip. This receiver uses its two video outputs to send movies and other content to your backseat screens, as you control the entertainment with its simple control panel.
This Boss Audio receiver provides plenty of ways to play your music. You can slip a store-bought or recorded CD into the slot, including discs burned with MP3 files, and you can play MP3 files that you've loaded on an SD™ card or USB drive. You can also hook a compatible Android™ phone into the USB port to play back music. You can connect other music players to the front-panel auxiliary input, while the rear-panel A/V input allows you to connect sources like a gaming console. With five preamp outputs, you can connect amps to get your system pumping.
Once you pair your phone, you can answer your calls with the push of a button, and talk as if your caller is sitting next to you. Plus, the receiver supports Bluetooth audio streaming, so you can stream music wirelessly from compatible devices to the receiver, with basic control functions like play and pause.
Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.
Average Customer Review(s):
terrible product. cheap manufacturing and poor sound.
Cons: cheap construction. wont last
This radio function fine for my RV. I would not use this unit for my car, just because I would want more features.
Pros: Inexpensive, plays DVD's and easy install.
Cons: No EQ, phone pairing isn't very easy.
Great radio and excellent value.
This product does not fit right into my car. I had to literally fabricate all new mounting hardware jerry-rigged from the old mount (factory) and the mounting gear that came with the stereo. Then printed on the stereo it says that it takes M5x6mm screws, this is untrue. I had to go to the hardware store and buy longer screws due to the ones provided and the ones used on the previous stereo were too short to screw the new mounting hardware onto the stereo unit. Then I had to drill and chamfer the holes so that the screws which were too big could grab and tap. Once this was all done I installed into my car and the sound quality was much improved, unfortunately, the user interface is quite janky. Most of the functions are controlled by the remote and the lag from the remote as well as the few buttons on the face have huge lag. I would not recommend this product unless you are buying it and having a shop install it so you don't have to deal with the hassle.
Pros: Good sound quality and volume.
Cons: Installation time/effort, bad user interface, overly complicated functions, not exactly an improvement visually over the factory stereo, bad quality control.
I bought this unit because it was cheaper, but still offered Bluetooth capabilities. I wanted a double din with those features and I wanted a unit that didn't go overboard with flashing lights and colored displays. I have to admit it meets those requirements. However, the construction is a lot "cheaper" than I thought it would be. The unit just feels like it's of a lower quality. I'm OK with the unit overall, because it's in a vehicle that sits most of the time and I wanted something lower cost. If I was putting something in my primary vehicle, I would definitely spring for a more expensive, better built unit.
Pros: - Bluetooth - Nice look and fit - Very simple to operate
Cons: - Low quality build construction - Very minimal sound adjustments - Poor quality Mic
It worked for the first day. I don't know if it is normal quality issues for boss radios but I would not try this brand again. At least for the day it worked it was easy and looks like a value radio.
Pros: Easy to use.
Cons: Worked for one day. Hopefully it was only mine.
