Our take on the JVC Arsenal KD-A925BT

JVC includes a tiny USB Bluetooth adapter and an external microphone with the KD-A925BT. This receiver features two USB slots, so you'll still be able to connect your iPod® or iPhone® to the free slot.

Talk hands-free, stream music

You're on the road a lot — between road trips with friends, running errands, and driving to the office, the time adds up. So why not enjoy that time as much as you can? The JVC Arsenal KD-A925BT CD receiver gives you a driving companion that'll deliver topnotch sound, while giving you the convenience and safety of music streaming and hands-free calling. Plus, JVC protects this workhorse receiver with the Arsenal 2-year warranty.

JVC Arsenal KD-A925BT

Bluetooth® included

JVC includes a tiny USB Bluetooth adapter and an external microphone with the KD-A925BT. This receiver features two USB slots, so you'll still be able to connect your iPod® or iPhone® to the free slot.

Once connected, just pair your phone and you're ready to go. Talking hands-free makes sense — you can make and receive calls without reaching for your phone (and its tiny buttons), and keep your hands on the wheel. Plus, as more and more localities enact hands-free laws, you can be sure you're in compliance no matter where the road takes you.

Bluetooth note: Bluetooth compatibility of this device may vary, depending on your phone and service provider.

Listen to PANDORA® Internet radio, plus audio from other iPhone apps

You can use the KD-A925BT to control PANDORA® just like any other source. Just download a free iPhone app, connect the phone to one of the USB inputs, and enjoy. You can even rate songs with a "Thumbs up," or "Thumbs down," so that PANDORA® knows what music you like.

You can also play the audio from other apps on your iPhone, like those for Internet radio, navigation, and movies. You'll control those apps from your iPhone, not the receiver.

Fun, customizable display

JVC's Separated Variable-Color display lets you pick from over 30,000 possible colors to match the KD-A925BT's display to your vehicle's dash lighting. You can also assign separate colors to the left and right sides of the control panel for a style that's all your own, or tell the stereo to continually cycle through all the colors for a truly unique look.

Beautiful sound

A digital-to-analog converter (DAC) takes the digital information stored on your CDs and in your music files, and turns it back into music. Burr-Brown converters are universally recognized for their smooth, superior sound, and JVC uses a Burr-Brown 24-bit DAC in this receiver. You'll really be knocked out by this receiver's sound quality, especially if you're building a full audio system in your vehicle.

Advanced digital processor

JVC's Digital Signal Processor really helps your music shine. Its Time Alignment feature uses data from ten different vehicle styles to put you in the center of the soundstage, by changing the timing of each speaker. Think about it — you don't sit in the center of your car, you sit in the front left. JVC changes the timing so the signal from a distant speaker reaches your ear at the same time as the one right next to you, putting you right in the center of a musical performance. All you have to do is tell it the type of car you're in, and the KD-A925BT does the rest.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most vehicles, you can use an adapter to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this JVC stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the JVC, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

    Arsenal of Features

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This deck is one of the few with Bluetooth streaming, which sounds a lot better than a Dual deck I had with that feature. I use it for short trips with the phone in my pocket. It also supports direct iPhone control, which is better for longer trips as it charges the phone. One quirk : when I start the car, it recognizes the iPhone and starts playing, but then it drops out and I have to unplug/replug the iPhone cable. I think it's probably the Bluetooth connection that causes this when it associates and the iPhone switched to BT output instead of cable output. Just guessing. Might be a way around it. Lots of colors, options, FM presets, etc. Multiple USB and accessory options. A solid purchase for this price range, especially if you want BT streaming.

Pros: BT Streaming, iPhone control, and lots of features, customizable sound to match your car, solid sound, color options, etc, etc.

Cons: I get confused as to when to use the menu button and the push-button inside the rotary knob. Play/Pause moves between these two in different modes. No biggie, though

    Good but not great

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I needed to replace the unit in my older Jeep Grand Cherokee. I wanted one with Bluetooth and a stand-alone mic. This radio was recommended by the phone rep and it seemed to fit the bill. The sound is fine, especially after I replaced the speakers. See the pros and cons for more.

Pros: This unit is relatively inexpensive. It also seems to have plenty of power for my use, driving four 6" speakers and two small tweeters. It comes with a remote control that is somewhat handy. The display can be changed to a range of colors. It also has a feature to automatically answer incoming phone calls through the Bluetooth circuit. It has a front USB connection as well as an aux input. It also allows the BT device to be connected at the rear, freeing up the USB in front for various use

Cons: Here are the cons: The unit is small and the buttons are tiny. The display is small. It is difficult to see what is being displayed. It also does not feature RDS to get song titles from FM stations sending the that information. The audio settings are canned and so far I don't see an easy way to manually adjust the sound.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Ok, so this was my first time installing a new car stereo and at first when I ordered all the parts, etc, etc, it was a little overwhelming. The project was to remove the stock radio from my 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, and replace it with the new JVC Arsenal KD-A925BT. The intructions provided were incredibly accurate and I could not be happier. all in all the installation was pretty easy. Now on to the radio. The only thing I wish this radio had was an easier to see front panel in the daylight, and with my sunglasses on I cant see the front panel at all. I tried messing around with the color variations and brightness, but none seemed to help. the sound is great compared to how my stock radio sounded, so I am very pleased in that dept. The connection options are very useful including the bluetooth which i use to stream from my samsung infuse android phone, but I think I will be using the stereo input jack as the sound is much better. The small remote provided is a nice feature to quickly change song selections,it even works with my phones bluetooth which is nice. The face plate is a little difficult to put back on, and I find myself fummbling about with it in low light situations, but this is not a big deal. The usb ports are nice, I only wish I could use that connection with my phone as I could use it to charge and play music at the same time. the USB ports can olny be used for flash drives, etc. All in all I am very happy with my purchase thanks Crutchfield

Pros: Lots of connection options, Great sound, easy to install

Cons: Front panel is hard to see in daylight. Faceplate is a little tricky to put back on

I love this unit. It is the second JVC unit I've bought from Crutchfield, and both are great radios. This one is a GREAT value for all it does, and it reproduces great music and voice. It flawlessly handles my bluetooth devices, with great phone handling (iphone and ipod)characteristics, has more than enough inputs, has great radio reception, is extremely adaptable, with hundred of screen, sound system/sound quality, and overall device modifications possible.

Outstanding Features, Implemented Well - Excellent Receiver

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

THANKS to Josh at Crutchfield for recommending this awesome receiver! I love that I can play music from so many different sources (iPhone/iPod via USB or via streaming Bluetooth, Pandora on iPhone, USB drive, FM/AM radio, CD, Aux port). Streaming music via BT from my iPhone is easy for short trips. I don't have to take my iPhone out of my purse, just wait for the receiver to automatically connect to the iPhone (a few seconds) and then press Menu to start playing where I left off. For longer trips, plug into the USB and phone charges too. I recently returned a Kenwood KDC-BT848U that was quirky and wouldn't operate properly in cold weather. It cost the same as this one and had fewer features (no BT streaming, no Pandora). This JVC unit performs wonderfully! I highly recommend it. Controls are so much more intuitive than Kenwood and the manual is easier to follow. My only tiny complaint is that you can't see the song title and artist both on the same display. You can see song title alone, or album/artist and you can push Display to toggle between them. Album info is almost irrelevant to me. There is a lot of stuff on the display, some that might not need to be there, but it is still readable even for these old eyes. One great thing about the display is that you see song/album/artist info no matter whether you choose to control the iPod from the receiver or from the iPod. On the Kenwood, you don't see info if you control the iPod from the receiver. Love it!

Pros: - See song info for all sources (except radio). - Streaming music via BT is so convenient. - Menus are straightforward, easy to navigate. Read the manual for excellent tips though. - Can thumbs up/down on Pandora via receiver buttons. - External mic = clear phone calls via BT. - Set display to use a wide variety of colors. - Can control iPod/iPhone from receiver or from iPod/iPhone and receiver still displays song info. (Selecting specific song is easier from iPod interface.)

Cons: - Display should have "song title / artist" without having to push the display button to toggle. - Having the CD behind the faceplate is a little inconvenient but who plays CDs anymore?!

Great unit but has a few short comings. The sound is UNBELIEVABLE with stock speakers. When you get into setting up the user mode including speaker settings it flat out rocks!! That said, I wish it had buttons for radio tuning (I'm old fashioned). The display could be larger (I have old eyes). However, with all the colors for the displays, you will be able to get the right one so you will be able to read it in any lighting conditions. I should get one for my BMW !!!

    Bang for the buck

    Glenn from Durham on 10/2/2011

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I picked up this unit because of the three factors important to me. First was the rear USB port, which is a long cable you can use to plug in your USB stick or IPOD. I was disappointed neither USB port (there is a front port as well) could read my Zune (or any non-apple mp3 player). Second, I wanted a unit cam matching the lighting inside my vehicle, and this JVC unit does this very well, offering both day and night lighting variations that I was able to adjust to my car's factory lighting. Third was the high 5 volt pre-amp output which drives my Bose amp adequately. Having installed this unit, I found several items that I didn't recognize the unit offered when I purchased it. The bluetooth and enclosed microphone is very cool, with incoming calls temporarily interrupting the music being played so you can answer through the JVC unit by simply pushing the volume knob. It also allows you to play recorded music directly from your phone. The bluetooth adapter is unobtrusive except for a tiny blinking green light which doesn't bother me at all. You can use the rear USB if you prefer to hide it. I also found the personalization for time delay of signals to each speaker very useful to achieve a great sound chamber inside your car. I would prefer a slightly bigger volume knob and USB ports which can handle non-apple music players, but on my scale of 1-10, this JVC gets a solid 8.7.

    Good stereo for the price

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This sure is working out to be a nice stereo. The install was fairly simple for the unit; hardest part was the truck I put it into. The face plate is a bit awkward to put on and take off, but not a big deal. I don't remove it very often. The CD is behind the faceplate so it does not take up room on the front. The whole unit has small buttons and a small LCD area, so if you have trouble seeing, this can be hard to use. Very cool how the Bluetooth phone part works. Once you pair the first time, it just works so nice. Way better than headphones for talking on the phone. Good and clear for the caller too. Pandora works awesome and is my favorite part of the whole unit. So cool to have that in the car. Why use XM or Sirius for music now? This is a good buy. Enjoy.

    Awful faceplate attachment design

    foresto from California on 9/11/2011

    2004 Volkswagen Passat
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I wanted to like the KD-A925BT, but the mechanism that attaches the faceplate to the head unit is way too fiddly. It is designed to either fold down (to reveal the CD slot) or pop off. Detaching it requires you to first press the button and let it fold down, then pry open one of the claws that hold it in place. It doesn't require much force, but it is inconvenient and I worried that the claws would break. Much worse is the procedure to re-attach the faceplate. You have to carefully line up a gear on one edge of the faceplate such that the matching head unit claw goes into the center of the faceplate's gear and the head unit's gear teeth line up with the faceplate's gear teeth. If you succeed, you then have to apply steady pressure on this connection to keep it in place while you bring the opposite edge of the faceplate into line with the other head unit claw, and either pry the claw open or push the free faceplate edge into place, hoping this claw will line up with the matching faceplate hole. If anything doesn't line up perfectly, it is very easy to accidentally drop the faceplate on the floor. I don't want a car stereo that I have to fiddle with for 5-10 seconds every time I re-attach the faceplate. It should take 1-2 seconds tops, with one hand. With practice, I should be able to do it reliably without looking and without dropping it on the floor.

I've never owned a JVC product until now, this head unit sounds awesome. Overall I would give this deck a 4.5 star rating. The only cons I have is when the usb port is plugged in you cant use your bluetooth media to stream music its either or. I generally only listen to slacker internet radio on my phone so really not that big of deal for me. This head unit is well worth the money wished I would of purchased a long time ago.

    Pretty Good, a few annoyances

Brad from Sacramento, CA on 8/8/2011

    2001 BMW 3 Series
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First and most important, the sound quality on this unit is excellent. It's also got a lot of features. However, I think a lot of them could have been thought out better. Some of this has been pointed out in the other reviews. The display is too cramped. I could easily go with only having the track information being displayed and a button to cycle through time, track time, etc. Also, the display doesn't seem to be able to display in the format of Artist - Track Name. I can get Album / Artist, or just the track name, but can't get artist and track name on the display at the same time. The buttons seem small and the volume knob seems too short. It's kind of hard to change the track while driving. I suppose I could use the remote for this, but then I have to fish around for the remote. This is easily the slowest stereo I have ever used in my life. It takes a long time changing tracks, even longer changing albums on an MP3 CD. It takes a long time to sync with blue tooth. It takes a long time to read an ipod, however, changing tracks on an ipod is faster than on new, freshly burnt CD. Also, apparently JVC didn't get the memo that nobody uses iphones anymore. Android support would be nice. Although Android mostly works as is, it'd be nice to have Pandora be able to display the track and artist name on the display. The pause / play and forward functions still work though. Overall, I'd recommend it, but with warning of the few annoyance.

    One more thing...

Grawlix from Inacornfield, IL on 7/2/2011

I've already outlined some of my minor complaints about this otherwise spectacular head unit, but I remembered something else. This grouse also applies to the Arsenal KD-A725, and probably to other JVC units as well. Namely, the sort routine for USB drives is a little goofy. It collates on letters, then numbers, then symbols, instead of just doing a straight-up case insensitive ASCII sort. So, "B-52s" sorts after "Bruce Springsteen." That's a little weird. (For those of you trying to build a directory of a large USB drive, here's the collation order: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ0123456789 !#$&'()+,-.;=@[]^_`{}~) This is my second review, so I gave it 5 stars this time around. That makes my average the intended 4.5 stars. It's a great deck, it could just stand some tweaking.

    Good, but room for improvement

Grawlix from Inacornfield, IL on 6/26/2011

    2007 Pontiac Grand Prix
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If I were able to give this deck a 4.5 star rating, I certainly would have, but there is definitely room for improvement. Namely: 1) The display is pretty weak. It is fairly small, but more importantly, committed to showing information that would be considered irrelevant to some users. Instead of fixing one line of the display to show folder number, file number, and track position, why not allow me to show more tag information? Also, the source icon is large and tends to clutter the display. It is redundant, as 1/3 of the top line alread names the source. Moreover, does JVC really need to dedicate part of its display to showing the time? 2) Bluetooth is not truly built-in. One of the attractive features for this deck is the dual USB ports. Although it does not greatly impact my use of the receiver, I was disappointed to learn that if you want to use Bluetooth, you have to sacrifice one of those ports to an included adapter. 3) Button layout is sort of cramped. By going to a flip-down face, hiding the CD slot, JVC could have utilized that extra space for larger buttons or the display. They did neither. 4) Pandora is no better supported than any deck that will take AUX in. When you use Pandora in "Application Mode," you cannot use your iPod/iPhone's touch screen controls--you must use the (cramped) buttons on the head unit. This makes station selection tedious, as you have to disconnect your iPod/iPhone to accomplish it.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great Head unit overall... I have owned several JVCs in the past and they have not let me down thus far. I will say that I miss the numbers along the bottom. It makes for selecting tracks and radio stations a bit more involved. Great power, makes my stock speakers sound incredible. If you are familiar with previous JVC products, learning how to navigate the settings on this one shouldnt be much of a problem. This Receiver makes my subwoofer sound amazing with my amp versus the stock radio with the amp. The Bluetooth worked fine but it cannot hold a candle to the Ford Sync System with full dial pad that I had in my car before I installed the JVC but I will take much better sound over phone use any day... Thanks for crutchfield for the extras like the Antenna Adapater and manuals. They just made my life that much easier. Quick delivery too.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I finally decided to upgrade the stereo in my 05 Civic Coupe. I decided to go with this unit for the easy access front USB and AUX inputs. I don't have an iPhone or iPod to use, but It works very well with my Samsung Galaxy S phone. The sound quality is good coming from the phone, but the other features (like controlling your iPhone with the head unit controls) don't work. So don't expect anything that isn't promised. The CD sound quality is also very good. I don't listen to FM radio anymore, so I can not comment on that. I was very worried about installing the unit as I have never been a "handyman" type person and have never done anything like this before. With the Crutchfield master sheet in hand, everything went better than I expected. I did have to call the helpline one time to make sure I was fighting with the right screws, but overall the Install went smoothly. If you are on the fence about actually taking on the task of installing new sound equipment in your car I would highly recommend Crutchfield because as long as you have the right tools and the Master Sheet for your car, as well as the helpline for backup, you can't go wrong.

The Bluetooth audio streaming works great w/ my iPhone 4. Streams all music apps and is very clear. The USB connection for iPod/ iPhone instantly recognizes the device. But it only allows use of the "iPod" function. The only problem with the radio is that you cannot see the display with polarized sunglasses. The buttons light up fine, but you cant see what station or function your on. Other than that, the radio is excellent. Sounds louder and clearer than the original factory radio.

I went off the earlier reviews and focused on buying this one. I called and talked to a service rep and he had a great attitude and was really helpful. I have never put in a stereo myself and was a little concerned about trying it. I put this in a Nissan Xterra. When it came the instructions were crystal clear and meant for someone with no experience. The mounting brackets fit perfect.I had to call twice for help because I wanted to make sure about not using a couple of wires on the harness and later needed some help with the Blue Tooth (didnt know I had to push some buttons on my iPhone to get it to synch). Again both guys answered my questions quickly-it was obvious they knew what they were talking about. Great service! Great product! Obsolutely love this receiver! Everything I needed was in the box. All I used was a screw driver, some butt-connectors, and a crimping tool. I could not be happier with the entire experience. Thanks Crutchfield!!!

A great head unit for a very fair price

LoneWolf from SW Michigan on 5/30/2011

I did a lot of research before purchasing this unit.SQ and ease-of-use were top priorities; my dying Pioneer DEH-P680MP had the first, but not the second. This is my first JVC unit; I've owned Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony Mobile ES (back in the day), Aiwa, and even Nakamichi during the tape-deck era. JVC has great, intuitive controls, with a well-defined menu system. It has one-button pause (it took four buttton presses on my Pioneer to pause the iPod or CD). Basic iPod/CD/radio controls are easy to operate without taking eyes off the road. Display shows you what you need, rather than lots of animated junk, and color changes are easy to match your car's lighting. The unit's Bluetooth paired easily with my Motorola Droid 2 for hands-free calling. Adjustable time-delay, and either basic (preset) or full equalizer controls are available. This unit has it all for $100 less than competing decks from other brands. Sound quality is also great; the unit bypasses the iPod DAC. I have four Infinity Reference 5.25" 2-way speakers, and they're a great match. One star taken off because it takes about 10-15 seconds to read my iPod every time I start the car (my Pioneer was near-instant). The face is a bit cumbersome to detach/re-attach compared to other models I've used. A less glossy screen would be nicer (for better reading in sunlight) but every manufacturer unfortunately does this. I'd buy this deck again, you won't find a better model at this price.

    Just ordered this.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far so good. Controls are easy to use and intuitive, the menu navigation makes sense and there are plenty of options to play with. The display is really hard to see if you're wearing polarized sunglasses (not surprising) but i found by setting the display area to white and making it negative helped quite a bit. Sound quality is good, I am still experimenting with the EQ levels to get it where I want. So far the bluetooth sync with my blackberry bold has worked very well too. Paired up quickly and has been reconnecting fairly quickly each time i get back in the car. Call audio seems good and those I've called said the voice comes through clearly, although I have yet to try it while actually driving so far it has just been quick tests. USB thumb drive i put in as my primary music source was recognized quickly and it indexed 2GB of songs reasonably fast. Overall I am pleased, especially for the price.

I bought this new Arsenal KD-A925BT Signature Series Receiver a few days ago after it first went on sale. Actually I just installed it works great, takes some time getting used to the controls and all the different settings you can choose. There is a noticeable difference in sound quality from the old stereo I had in my car, it has everything that you could want. Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First off, quality of sound is indeed supreme. The Burr-Brown Converter really makes a difference. After working on the 5-part equalizer for an hour through multiple songs I was able to make my stock speakers sound wow. Next step would be new speakers. The illumination wire is a plus. The moment I turn on my running lights, the stereo automatically adjusts to night settings (color and brightness). The options revolving around this feature alone are numerous. 30,000 different colors mean you'll be able to find one that matches your dash perfectly. Built-in Bluetooth is really a usb nub that sticks a quarter of an inch out of the rear wire. When on, there's an green light that blinks about every sec. I found it to be annoying on the front usb port during night driving so I moved it back to the rear wire, which means I don't see it, however I was planning on using that rear wire for my iphone. Maybe I'll just open the nub and cover up the light or something.. Playing music through Bluetooth tends to make certain high frequencies sound "electronic." I thought it was a connectivity issue so I replugged and restarted but it remained. So I stick with the USB cable for audio, and Bluetooth is good enough for phone calls. Wish they could run audio AND phone through but I believe thats Apple's territory. Mic was reported as decent when placed next to sun visor. Don't buy it anywhere else because Crutchfield gives you a free harness, instructions and shipping.

    Great product

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is my second JVC head unit from Crutchfield. (First is still giving service in my son's vehicle). Great array of features and usability and utterly reliable. Mainly chosen for the inbuilt Bluetooth which works flawlessly for hands free calls including streaming tunes from my iPhone4. I still have the option of using the USB and charge at same time but the player uses very little battery power to run as is. Even with stock speakers in my Silverado the sound improvement is awesome. Particularly like the sound stage tool to balance for seating position. Really notice the rear speakers now. Upgrade to after market speakers I feel will make me a very happy camper. BTW correction to the ad...there IS an included faceplate carrier in the box!

Detachable Fold-Down Face: The JVC Arsenal KD-A925BT features a fold-down face which is detachable face to deter theft. A hard-plastic face-case is provided. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired.

Note: An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can also be purchased for this unit.

3-Line LCD: The head unit features a three-line, alphanumeric-text LCD with adjustable color, brightness, and dimmer settings.

Variable Color LCD & Key Illumination: The JVC Arsenal KD-A925BT features 29 color presets for the LCD and button illumination. You can choose one of these color presets or select the ColorFlow mode which scrolls through all 29 color presets. Additionally, there is a User preset, allowing you to individually adjust the intensity of Red, Green, and Blue from 0 to 31; resulting in approximately 30,000 custom color options. The chosen color preset or custom color can be applied to the display panel and the backlighting for all the buttons except the Display, Brightness, & Eject buttons (they remain red). You can choose to use the same color for the LCD display and button illumination, or use a separate color for each one. You can also select a different color for daytime and nighttime in regards to the unit's LCD and button illumination.

Brightness/Contrast: The unit offers an adjustable display and button illumination brightness level (0-31) for day and nighttime driving. You can also adjust the display contrast (0-8) to make the display clearer and more legible.

Display/Button Illumination Dimmer: The display/button illumination dimmer can be set to Off (normal brightness at all times), On (display/button illumination is always dimmed), or Auto (display dims when 12-volts is applied to the orange/white illumination lead).

Clock Display: The JVC CD receiver features a 12/24-hour clock display. You can switch between the head unit's source information and clock display when the unit is powered on. When you power the unit off, you can press the "display" button to temporarily view the clock display.

    Audio Section

Burr-Brown 24-bit D/A Converter: The JVC Arsenal KD-A925BT utilizes a premium TI/Burr-Brown 24-bit digital-to-analog converter for superior CD sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The KD-A925BT is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit.

CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the KD-A925BT are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the KD-A925BT are as follows:

    • CEA2006 Specs: 20 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels (200 total watts)

5V/6CH Preamp Output: The KD-A925BT is equipped with three pair of gold-plated 5V preamp outputs (Front/Rear/Subwoofer). The front and rear preamp outputs allow fader control, while the subwoofer preamp output is non-fading. You can adjust the head unit's subwoofer level between 0 and 8, as well as the subwoofer phase (normal/reverse).

Amplifier Gain Control: When you are using the KD-A925BT with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to "low," the volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 30 (maximum). When using speakers rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to "high," and the volume control will range from 0 to 50.

Volume Adjust: The input level of each source (other than FM) is adjustable relative to the FM radio volume, so there isn't a significant volume difference when changing sources. Each source is individually adjustable from -5 to +5.

MySound EQ: The My Sound EQ features lets you customize your car audio system's sound by listening to test tones in five frequencies (All, Low, Middle, Middle-High, High), each represented by a different type of instrument. You can adjust the level of each frequency between -9 to +9. You can save up to 3 MySound EQ Profiles (Sound 1/2/3) for easy recall. You can also download sample music (instruments) in various genres for the My Sound EQ function from the JVC mobile website onto a USB thumbdrive.

5-Band EQ (with Presets): You can select a preset sound mode suitable for your music. You can select from Flat, Natural, Dynamic, Vocal, Bass, or User. The User mode lets you customize the head unit's 5-band EQ (50Hz, 200Hz, 800hz, 3.2kHz, 125kHz) from +/-9dB.

DSP Control: In order to optimize the sound quality, you can use the head unit's DSP control to set the type of vehicle, your seated position, and speaker size, distance, & x-over points. The DSP settings include the following:

    • Car Type: You can choose what type of vehicle you have - Compact, Sedan (medium), Sedan (large), SUV, SUV (small), X'over, Truck, Wagon, Minivan, or Van.
    • Seated Position: For a better sound-stage you can select your optimal listening position. You can choose from All, Front Left,  Front Right or Front.
    • Time Alignment: You can manually fine tune the sound stage by selecting the distance for each individual speaker in the vehicle compared to your listening position. You can select between 1.6-16.4' for the Left Front Speaker, Right Front Speaker, Left Rear Speaker, Right Rear Speaker, and Subwoofer.
    • Speaker Crossover: You can choose between an Easy crossover setup or Pro (custom) crossover setup for your audio system.
      • Easy: The speaker X'over is automatically set when the size of each speaker is select from the following items.
        • Front/Rear: select from full-range, 4", 5-1/4", 6-1/2", 6-3/4", 7", 4x6", 5x7", 6x8", 6x9", or 7x10"
        • Subwoofer: select from full-range, 6-1/2", 8", 10", 12", or 15" + over
      • Pro (Custom): The JVC head unit offers a high-pass crossover for the front & rear speaker/preamp channels and a low-pass crossover for the unit's subwoofer preamp output.
        • High-Pass Crossover (Front/Rear): variable high-pass filter (30-200Hz) and crossover slope (-12/-18/-24 dB per octave); frequencies lower than the selected frequency are cut-off from the front and rear speakers
        • Low-Pass Crossover (Subwoofer): variable low-pass filter (30-200Hz)and crossover slope (-12/-18/-24 dB per octave); frequencies lower than the selected frequency are sent to the subwoofer.

D.T. Expander (Digital Track Expander): The Digital Track Expander feature compensates for harsh high frequency sound in compressed digital tracks. The Digital Track Expander effect can be used for MP3/WMA (64-128 kbps) audio files and iPod/iPhone music files.

Loud (Loudness): This feature boosts low and high frequencies to produce a well-balanced sound at a low volume level. The Loudness features has four settings (1, 2, 3, or off).

Key-Touch Tone: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.
