The power and versatility of Bluetooth®
You may already know that Bluetooth lets you talk hands-free in the car, but now it lets you do so much more. Pair up your Android™ smartphone or Blackberry™, and you'll get some cool features — you can receive text message notification, stream music, or access Internet radio stations, depending on your phone's abilities. You can also play the audio from many other apps. Think of Bluetooth as a wireless bridge between your smartphone and your dash.

iPhone® lovers get the same features when connected via USB. JVC also lets you pair two phones at once, so there's no need to choose between your personal and business lines. When a call comes in, the receiver will blink either blue or red, so you'll know at a glance if your call is coming from home or the office. To answer a call, just tap the volume knob.

Apps for Android
JVC's Android app lets you use your compatible Android phone's touchscreen to control receiver functions using finger swipes and gestures — for example, tap the screen to play and pause, or swipe right to skip forward a track. So pop your Android phone in a mount, and you can reach down to skip a track without taking your eyes off the road.

Control Pandora® Internet radio
JVC makes it easy to play your favorite Pandora stations. iPhone users can control Pandora when connected to the USB slot, while Android and Blackberry owners get full control of Pandora through the Bluetooth connection, depending on your phone's features.

Higher-power USB connection
JVC upped the power in their USB port, which lets you keep your smartphone charged, even when it's doing several tasks at once. And with your smartphone connected, you can listen to its internal memory as one source and access the little microSD card as another.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (not included) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this JVC stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the JVC, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

Great car stereo, my second JVC

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is my second JVC car stereo. The first one I bought in June 2011 was the JVC KD-A815, an open box special I bought at the (now closed) outlet center in Charlottesville, and it died on me in April 2015 (front panel went haywire). This KD-AHD75BT was also an open-box special sold online, and it has all of the same features as my old unit but with the addition of HD radio and larger LCD text. It functions identical to my old unit, which is great because I didn't have to learn anything new. It also used the same connector, albeit with the speaker wires switched around. The sound is as good as my last model, but I had to set it differently to get the same sound (i.e. different mid/high settings). HD radio works great, its my first HD radio, and there is no delay in tuning. USB works great on either front or rear, and I like having the front for Bluetooth and rear for USB stick. Display is beautiful, I like having two separate colors for day and night and that it's fully customizable. Bluetooth works perfectly with my Android phone, but I don't use Pandora or the phone audio, I just feed song audio to it (haven't tried a phone call yet). Haven't used the line outs so I don't know how well they work. Only complaint with Crutchfield is they no longer give you the mounting kit for your vehicle, you have to buy this separately - however in my case the one that came with my last model fits this one too. Remote works great, love having it. Very happy with purchase!

Pros: Great build quality Same harness as my previous JVC MP3 playback from USB on either port Bluetooth Great sound Beautiful display with fully selectable colors

Cons: JVC's method of playback for MP3's - instead of allowing you to select a song by artist, or title, or folder, JVC locks you into sorting by filename only (files first, then folders I alphabetical order). I'm used to it, but my cheap $30 MP3 player does a better job with song selection.

What a upgrade from the factory Blaupunkt in my 06 GTO--A aftermarket head unit has got to be the best stand alone upgrade that can be done to most factory audio systems. HUGE difference in sound quality even with the factory paper cone speakers. The HD radio is excellent if you have stations broadcasting HD in your area. I just installed it a couple days ago so I really can't rate the "ease of use"--"Coolness Factor" or "Build Quality"--However I've always had good luck from JVC/Kenwood products in the past and I'm counting on it this time also. Thanks Crutchfield

Pros: I wanted improved sound and this unit delivers....Period!!

    Cons: none so far

I am very pleased with this jvc head unit. It's got great sound and already has increased output wattage compared to other brands out there. There are multiple easy to use features and the Bluetooth connects to my iPhone 6 with ease! The sound is great and the quality and clarity of the production is excellent

Pros: Bluetooth, color options. I actually like that Bluetooth isn't built in so u can wire it to highest point in vehicle. I was able to walk 30 yards and still picked up signal.

Cons: Price still a little high

I installed this radio as an upgrade for my 2001 Lincoln Town Car. Crutchfield was great. I got the radio and all the install kits for my car with free shipping no less. What a deal. All of the cables on the radio had to be stripped which I guess is normal. Other than the fact that the dash kit mounted with an upward angle which make the screen impossible to read during the day, the radio sounds great. I'm really impressed with the sound quality. I would definitely this radio and especially Crutchfield to anyone.

    Pros: Great Features and Sound

Cons: Install a little more difficult than expected and hard the read the screen

I had my mom pick out a radio based on what she wanted. She did good. I installed yesterday and it is awesome. If i needed a cd player i would get this unit, i will be buying the 810bt. Bluetooth is great, you do have to press the volume button to connect when it says "volume yes" "back no". I kept turning the volume knob but eventually figured it out.

Pros: Display color changes, lots of features, can be expanded, hd radio sounds great, bluetooth works great.

It has every feature you could want from Bluetooth, HD radio, great sound quality (that goes as loud as you'll ever need), and two USB ports. Its great for the price and easy to install yourself. Plus if your worried about ppl taking it it comes with a hard travel case for the face plate

Pros: Has a lot of features, cute color variety, great value for the price and its the better option among JVC (Arsenal)

Cons: None - I love it - I've had no issues or complaints

good radio but has some issues

    1991 Honda Accord EX
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good radio with some issues. The display is nice as you can color match to your dash lighting. My biggest issue is not being able to turn off the HD Radio function. The HD lags behind and it gives a skipping echo effect when listening to standard radio. My power antenna won't come up either since switching to this unit. Not sure why as I followed the instructions on wiring it up( not my first time). Lots of control over the sound if you know how to tune your system.

Pros: Good control over sound. Color control on display. 6ch pre outs Great phone features

Cons: Needs better HD Radio functionality. Bluetooth control can be finicky

    Nice Head Unit

Neville from Tucson AZ on 12/7/2014

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the money this is a very versatile head unit with features only found in some higher end models, The sound is great with just my factory amplified speakers. The USB for the iPod and thumb drive works great and after listening to HD radio broadcast, I wont go back to regular FM broadcast. I only wish JVC made a dedicated spot behind the removable face-plate or build in their Bluetooth adapter so both the front and rear USB are available.

Pros: HD Tuner, Pandora, Ipod control and very cool illumination colors, separate front, rear and sub preouts. Ability to pair two cell phones at the same time

Cons: Small buttons, and you definitely have to read the manual to figure out the controls. Bluetooth adapter takes up one of the available USB input.

    1987 Ford F Series
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this head unit because I could choose the display/buttons color. I hate a screaming-bright blue display for night time driving! I finally stumbled upon the idea that the night colors for the display/buttons was a composite of Red/Green/Blue and that I needed to zero out the Green & Blue levels to get Red. Once that was discovered, then just decrease the intensity of the red color appropriate to night time driving. I haven't tried HD Radio yet, I haven't plugged in an auxiliary device, I don't have a Bluetooth phone (yet), but the unit supports all of that plus more. I do have 4 speakers hooked up and it sounds pretty good to me (that might not be saying much)

Pros: Unit fits the 1 DIN slot as advertised. Unit also come with Crutchfield provided Sosche adapter harnesses and mounting kit accessories - very cool.

Cons: I found the Operation Instructions to be helpful, but not at all detailed.

Very Nice Alternative To OEM Radio

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought a replacement for the standard Honda Ridgeline unit so I could get rid of an old 3rd-party iPod interface and also incorporate hands-free Bluetooth operation with my iPhone. This JVC included all I needed at a good price and sounds much better than the original.

Pros: Good sound, neat appearance, fairly easy installation. Works with My wife's and my Smart Phones. Installation kit and steering-wheel control system also installed and working fine.

Cons: Some controls are tiny and require visual feedback. Manual for the steering-wheel control interface was a bit vague - required a call to Tech Support. Support cleared it up within a few minutes.

All the features i wanted in a head unit. Bluetooth audio streaming and phone, 3 sets of high gain pre-amps, HD radio (which is so much better than regular fm), color changing, removable face. Many people complain about the dimmer at night still being too bright but I thought it is fine, fully adjustable. Love that I can have different colors for day and night.

    1998 Jeep Cherokee
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

JVC makes you think this has built-in Bluetooth, as well as 2 USB inputs, front/rear. However, you have to use one of the USP ports for the included (not built-in) Bluetooth to USB adapter, so if you use the BT functions of this unit, you give up one of the USB ports. So if you want to use hands-free BT phone functions, you lost a lot of the capability of this unit. I wanted to hook up a thumb drive to one USB port and an iPod to the other, but can't do that. If you're looking for a true 2 USB unit, this isn't the one. The one I returned to Crutchfield also had a faceplate that would not eject properly. In addition I HATE the feel of every single button on this unit, you could not tell if you were actually pushing them or not. When navigating files and folders on USB thumb drive, it was very difficult to scroll through folders, and the unit cannot display any sub-folders, just shows them all so you get a very lengthy and confusing list. Finally, there is no way to pause playback from an iPod/iPhone via the head unit, VERY frustrating !! Would not recommend this unit to anyone.

    Pros: None

Cons: Really only one USB Horrbile button feel and useability Useless USB folder interface

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very Happy with JVC Arsenal. I replaced dead OEM radio in 2007 Impala. I didn't have any complaints about the oem unit but I should have...the Arsenal is a dramatic and notable improvement in sound quality. Particularly clearer bass. The JVC will never look like the OEM - but color-matching the display goes a long way to help. The display brightness has a day/night setting. I would like the night setting to be a little dimmer but no big deal really. HD radio sounds great - really improves AM stations considerably. I live a little ways into rural area, and I would say the reception in general is no better than OEM. On the fringes of the range HD can drop in and out. It turns out my favorite feature is the phone call sound quality. I have tried a couple of different wired mic headsets plugged into the phone, bluetooth headset, just the speaker phone, and holding the phone to my ear. Others (wife in particular) note sound quality on the other end is far better than any of the options I have used in the past. Its great to just talk in a normal tone/volume and be heard clearly.

Pros: Bluetooth/phone sound quality Tuner sound quality Display color adjustment

Cons: night mode brightness is a bit too bright

    A great radio so far

    1994 Toyota Land Cruiser
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have this set up in an odd configuration and it worked out flawlessly. I have the rear usb cable connected to an extension cable and i routed that cable In a way that it hangs out of the rear side of the armrest. I wanted this so if a rear passenger wanted to plug in something to charge or even play on the stereo, they could. I tried shuffling the Bluetooth adapter between USB connections and it works in the front or the rear. I tried to see what kind of range i could get and even though i have a big SUV, i got up to 10 feet from the vehicle before it started to cut out. I have yet to test the Aux connector as with all these options, i don't really need to use it. Maybe i'll run my CB radio into it. Over all, the deck is a little expensive but honestly, the installation was simple and it is really easy to use. I will be buying another one of these for my other vehicle.

Pros: 2 USB connections (the bluetooth adapter uses 1 usb so i plug it into the faceplate when i want to use it.) Aux in (when all else fails right?) Bluetoth for phone and music streaming (I have a samsung galaxy note 3 and the stereo even can play and pause the phone!)

Cons: The price was a little bit high but I am happy with it for sure. When I went to put it into my 94 land cruiser, it was a bit crowded. I believe this to be more a problem with the vehicle as this deck seems to be the same size as every other one i have seen.

I put this stereo in a 31 year old car & I am very pleased with the result. Using factory speakers limits how loud it plays, but at moderate volumes it is very pleasing to listen to. The reason I chose it was it had all I needed, Bluetooth, variable color display, CD player, HD radio, USB input & a detachable face. The buttons on the face control my BlackBerry music w/ease & it connects right up when get in the car for hands free phone use. I could have spent much more for something because of a name but I am glad I didn't.

Pros: Ease of use. Quick set up & quality of sound. Easy to learn controls.

    Cons: High volume sound quality.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

To be honest, I wouldn't buy this again. I chose it specifically because the JVC units have the adjustable button and display brightness. I can't stand head units that are lit up like an airport at night...distracting. So, I installed the unit and it sounds decent. BT phone pairing is good. You can adjust the color to match your dash fairly close... BUT... Even on 00 brightness on the knob side, the illuminated areas around the volume knob are too bright. Zero brightness to me means zero brightness. Not here. The dimmest setting is probably 50% brightness, which in this case is pretty bright. Even with my dash lights on max, the selector knob area is the brightest thing on the dash. Annoying. Second big carp: The HD radio lags behind standard def. So you start to get the station on standard, then it switches to HD and lags a couple seconds. You can indeed turn the HD off and run analog, but this is deceiving. The second you change channels, you have to AGAIN set it to hold analog or you get the annoying phase shift again and again. When I read the detailed description of this item before purchase, it made it sound like you can turn OFF the HD if you wish. Well, you kinda can, but to me OFF is OFF, not having to set it each time you change stations. There should be a master HD off function. I feel that the high level of display adjustments and ability to screen out HD are misrepresented or at the least greatly exaggerated.

Pros: Affordable. Lots of features on paper for the price. Many color choices for display. Decent build quality.

Cons: Can't turn illumination down far enough despite being billed as adjustable. Even lowest setting on DIM is too bright on left side of control panel. HD radio is annoying and too fiddly to lock onto analog.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall, I think it I got a great value for the money, but there are some minor annoyances. The radio reception is very good. Much better than than the Subaru factory radio. The bluetooth sound quality is good. People comment on how clear it is all the time. The menu system is cumbersome, but I guess it is to be expected for a single din unit with this many features. Fortunately, after initial setup, you don't need to get in to it too much. The button layout to left of volume control is crowded which makes it very easy to hit the wrong button. Fortunately, the supplied remote duplicates most of the functions and is very simple to use. I attached the remote to a lanyard and place it around the gear shifter so it won't get lost. With the remote you can switch between inputs, radio presets, seek stations, control ipod and adjust volume. I've found two glitches with the ipod interface. Sometimes the displayed song name gets out of sync with the song playing. Switching forward or backward between songs doesn't correct it. You have to change to a different input and then back to ipod to correct. The other glitch shows up when I have the ipod nano set to fade 1 song in to another for uninterrupted playback. There is a minor click and/or interruption in the music (quarter second or so) between songs. I haven't called JVC on this yet. Maybe a firmware upgrade can take care of it.

Pros: - Excellent radio reception - very clear bluetooth handsfree sound quality - Easy to use remote

Cons: - confusing menu system - cheap feeling buttons and crowded layout - Some ipod interface glitches

It does integrate all her phone stuff. So, fast forward like 6 months and its time for me to get a new one. I want my head unit to have hd and this new jvc arsenal supposedly has all these integration points with android phones too. The sound is great. The hd stations come in amazing....BUT if you buy this radio to connect with your phone forget it. Get the sony. This thing is a joke. It doesnt give yiu the text msg alert like it says it does, it doesnt even play navigation directions over the speakers. Too much money for "just a stereo."

I bought this as a replacement for my Kenwood, which was 2 1/2 years old and was having intermittent problems. This JVC has several really nice features that were lacking in the Kenwood. The unit looks great and is easy to install and wire.

Pros: First, it is much easier to access all of the preset buttons than with my old radio. Also, you can manually go from station to station. Many color options to choose from in the lighting, including separate setting for day and night (a great feature so you can have the intensity subdued and less distracting). High voltage preamp outputs. Controls easy to use

Cons: Display only reads one line, and I have not figured out how to get it to show the song title, artist, & clock. The front USB slot has a door, but it is not deep enough to be able to close if you have the blue tooth adapter or a small USB drive in it. Very minor detail-you just have to leave the door open when using them. Only limited bands for the equalizer-again not a major item, since most people are overwhelmed by controls that are too detailed and complicated for the average consumer.

It was relatively easy to install in my F350 with the install kit and wiring harness. In some respects it's relatively easy to setup and use but the buttons are small and if you're driving too easy to miss the intended button and press the wrong one. The sound quality is better than the the old OEM and with the Sirius add on components it's reduced the clutter in my truck. The Bluetooth connection was a little cumbersome to get going with my phone and I still haven't gotten the phone book to sync. People I've called, through the Bluetooth, say the sound quality is very good and they don't hear the diesel noise that I hear driving - so that's a big plus. Overall I like the unit, it's meeting my expectations and definitely modernizing my audio in my 10year old truck.

Pros: Easy install, good sound quality and very good Bluetooth phone quality.

Cons: Not the easiest to setup/use and small buttons.

This is my 3rd JVC unit. Really like the remote because its small, easy to operate without looking at it, and can connect to a keychain. (Mine is on a lanyard) 1st one went bad making a very loud static noise. The bluetooth microphone went bad on the next. Bought this one since it has outputs specifically for a sub but it produced very little output even when maxing out all the settings. Turned the gain up to max on the sub amp but still very little output. Fortunately my 4 channel main amp has a built in splitter to allow the signal to be routed to a sub amp so I went back to using that and just not using the head unit's output. Not feeling real good about the JVC quality. Crutchfield is THE BEST, though.

Pros: Remote is awesome on the JVC units. Features are good. Nice to have built in HD.

Cons: pre-out for the sub does not provide ample (if any) signal to the sub amp. Useless.

I purchased this unit to replace a JVC KDAHD69 that I bought here about two and a half years ago. My main reason for the upgrade was to get all of the bluetooth functionality. BT was still a bit new in units in 2010. Anyway, I was extremely pleased with my previous JVC unit, and that opinion hasn't changed here. Sound Really great. Absolutely clear! HD radio continues to be excellent and is one of my favorite features. Menus Having come from a similar unit, I'm happy to say JVC kept the controls consistent. There are a few reviews in here about the controls being hard to use-- I get that, the modern 1-DIN units just don't have as many buttons as the old 2-DIN factory unit that you are replacing. But, you get used to it. But... Where did my old EQ button go? Display As in the previous unit, having the ability to customize the colors is really great- helps the new stereo perfectly blend in with the rest of your dashboard. New for this unit are a few rotating-color choices (kind of like demo mode, but without the dumb text). Not for me, but I can see a lot of people liking that their stereo constantly changes color. USB Works great. The USB "rear" port (on a cable) is used for the bluetooth adapter, but the front USB port is still great for other misc recordings you may want to play. BT Pandora!!! Love it! Really cool. Phone quality is great, voice dialing works fine, but took a bit of jigging with Ice Cream Sandwich on my android phone to get the voice dialing to activate via Bluetooth.

Pros: Bluetooth functionality is nice to finally have Pandora functionality works really well HD Radio sound Customizable colors USB functions

Cons: I'm a little disappointed the EQ button is no longer there as was with my old unit. I hate doing menus for that.

Nice radio, my last radio had more features and gadgets (too many) but the JVC KD-AHD75BT did not forget its roots in practicality .... its far more fuctional in that its a multi function hi tech radio and IT HAS something they used to call buttons .... haha. This radio has Preset station select buttons and I like that. Keep the 250 function radio because if you ant use it while driving without excessive distraction it wont work for me.

I bought this radio to replace oem in my Ford truck. I wanted to have it like the new Ford sync. This radio outperforms all of my expectations. The equalizer is a little tough to understand but once you play with it for a few times you understand it completely. The radio is easy to use. The Bluetooth options are great, the color settings and everything else is phenomenal. The only dislike I have with the radio is the HD to non-HD switch. While listening to an HD radio station that goes out it drops and raises the volume automatically. I have not found anyway online or in the manual on just turning HD feature off. Other than that I highly recommend this radio to anybody using it for phone, bluetooth, and the other options.

Pros: Great sound quality. Multiple phones on Bluetooth. Front USB port charges devices. Removable face. Great color options. Great sound for phone calls.

Cons: HD to non-HD stations Causes volume to automatically raise and lower. EQ settings are a little hard to get to and navigate through the menu. Getting to preset stations above seven could be a lot easier with a button on the front rather than pushing buttons and turning the dials but you do get used to it after a while

I was looking for a do all receiver with Bluetooth. Both units paired with my Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Bluetooth even works well in the semi. That's a tall order considering the road noise. The menu is fairly easy to figure out and the custom colors blend with the respective dashes perfectly. That may be a necessary byproduct of an otherwise clean and not fussy faceplate design, but it was a little befuddling to operate at first, even with the assistance of the (barely literate) manual at hand. That said, leaving it set to cycle color changes appealed to the 17 yo daughter for whom it was intended,. Fully iPhoneplug and play -- putting iTunes, Pandora and phone calls through an HD radio with simple Bluetooth pairing procedure. There is PLENTY of power in this unit for the average non-enthusiast -- without the need for an amplifier or subwoofer. You can certainly go that route if you want, but we didn't think it necessary, and you can hear from outside the car with all windows up that it isn't. We paired new Kenwood speakers in the back deck with the unit, fading to the rear about 3 notches to put more sound back there, and that made even the OEM (1996 vintage) door and dash speakers sound better. Be sure the unit is OFF before you remove the faceplate -- popping it out when the unit is playing confuses things, and resulted in the loss of the Bluetooth pairing, which could only be reinstated by clearing it and starting over. Lesson learned, only a minor design issue. Is it technologically that sophisticated to have the music sound muted when a phone call comes in? Probably not, but having that kind of functionality in a 1996 vintage beater car is, as they say, "pretty darned good."

Pros: Terrific sound; multi-function Bluetooth solution makes hands free Pandora and iPhone 4S usage a blast; included microphone renders better voice quality than the iPhone itself; perfect fit (with a separately purchased dash pocket) on a 1996 Volvo 960

Cons: User interface/menu system takes some getting used to; built in ring tones are pretty lame -- phone ring tones are played through the radio (and only those from the radio) for incoming calls on a paired phone.

Great system but I wish you were told how to install the mic

    2005 Honda Accord LX
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The unit is expensive but it is really quite nice. It has 2 USB ports, though one dedicated for the Bluetooth (BT) receiver. It plays WAV files from my USB portable hard drive perfectly which is the main reason why I bought this unit but the BT is quite nice as well. It has an app which you can download and it's fairly good. The radio is fantastic. HD radio is so much better than regular and it's free which is always nice. I don't know why they make a HU which doesn't have an HD tuner in it. The sound is nice. I don't have an amp but I replaced my stock speakers and this unit uses them quite well. Again, way better than stock. Ease of use is a bit tricky. It's a 1 DIN unit. WAV files don't have tagging information so it doesn't display things like Title on the cell phone app. Also folder names do not scroll which I think is a problem but this is a "works as intended" feature. There are too many buttons and it does so much that I don't know of a better way to design the interface but this is a complicated device to use, particularly the hands free. The color displays are wonderful and this unit seems to be very well constructed. Running the wire was sort of tricky for the microphone. I have a Honda accord 2005 and I put the mic above the rear view mirror. The wire was so thin than I just shoved it under the ceiling and behind the A panel and down along the windshield. My car has a pop out which allows a wire to be run down the top of the dash which was convenient.

Pros: Great system over all. The BT is quite nice and the install was a breeze. Great sound quality even without an amp.

Cons: The UI is not very good (I avoid terrible as it technically works) but I suppose we can't expect much from a single din unit. There are so many buttons which perform multiple functions that it is hard to keep them all straight. Basically, read the manual and keep it in the car.

    Very nice system

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall excellent unit, simple 1-1/2 hour install. Positives include amazing variation of color and dimming settings, bluetooth capability, and phone capability. Primary negative is the very low quality of the mic used for the handsfree phone setup. Despite adjusting location and sensitivity, is quite fuzzy. Just barely usable. However, overall I am very pleased with the quality and performance of this unit.

Overall a good performing unit, with a lot of features and great sound.

Pros: Great sound with good bass and good radio reception. Bluetooth call clarity is very good, setting up sound options and other features is fairly straightforward.

Cons: Muting feature on dial is very sensitive, bluetooth audio streaming has moments where it cuts/hesitates (my phone is a 2009 hero, so it may be at fault)

    1993 BMW 325I
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was really glad to see a head unit that doesn't follow the trend of hideous chrome and silver trim and bright blue lights. It looks perfect in the black dashboard of my 1993 BMW 325i. I have the display set to perfectly match the aircraft inspired red/orange night lighting of the dashboard with the headlights on. With the headlights off, I set the display to bright white, and I have no problem looking at the display in the sunlight. The sound quality of the bluetooth connection has been great, I have plugged my phone into the AUX jack, and the sound quality is just as good. I can't remember the last time I have heard a music dropout while listening to bluetooth. Handsfree calls have been very good. When the kids plug their iPod Touch into the USB, sound quality, iPod control, and Pandora app integration are all great. I bought one of these, and liked it so much I bought two more. The quality has been consistent across all three of them. Haven't had a problem yet. I recommend this head unit to anybody who comes to me for a recommendation. I can't find a better single din head unit even if price is no object...the price of this unit provides extraordinary value for the money.

Pros: Classy design, color matching display, can configure separate color schemes for day and night, great sound quality, up/down control scrolls through radio presets 1-18, I haven't run into any skipping while playing mp3 cd's, bluetooth connection is rock solid, I rarely have an audio streaming glitch, no complaints when talking to my mother over the bluetooth handsfree, multipoint connects to my personal (Samsung Galaxy Note Android 4.0) and work (HTC Tilt 2 Windows 6.5) cell phones simultaneously

Cons: No RDS on Analog stations, Bluetooth takes about a minute to connect, presets 7-18 can't be accessed by the 1-6 preset buttons. Anymore, radios might as well leave the 6 preset buttons off and use the space for bigger displays.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This was a great upgrade to my 1995 BMW 318ti. Now I can listen to my iPod, talk hands-free with my Blue Tooth enabled phone, listen to high-definition radio, and/or CD's. I'm still using the factory speakers and there is dramatic improvement in sound quality.

Pros: Blue Tooth phone with separate microphone makes me a safer driver, high powered Apple device charging, two usb ports (one in front and one in back), great sound through my factory speakers.

Cons: The screen is difficult to read in the daytime. Sometimes the Blue Tooth does not connect flawlessly. Does not match BMW interior as much as I would have liked.

Great stereo, but has a problem with long mp3 files

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall this is a great stereo. My second JVC car stereo and normally I can't recommend them enough. However, this stereo has a bug that my other JVC does not. It won't affect most customers out there, but for those that it does, it is very annoying. I have contacted JVC but I'm not holding my breath that they fix it. The bug is that if you are playing a file longer than 100 minutes, it does not save the correct position if it's playing beyond the 100 minute mark. Example: I have a 3 hour mp3 (180 mins) And let's say I'm listening at the 125 minute mark and I turn off the car/stereo. When the stereo comes back on, it resumes the same file this time at the 25 minute mark, dropping the leading 1 (100mins). Please watch the video for more info.

Pros: Front 1/8" AUX, front/read USB. Built in Bluetooth. Sounds great for a great price!

Cons: My only complaint is the bug I mentioned above. This stereo can not retain the file position correctly for mp3 files longer than 100 minutes. I listen to a lot of DJ mix sets and live shows and most of them run 2-3 hours long. If the track is playing somewhere beyond the 100 minute mark and I turn off the car/stereo when it turns back on, it will start playing the file in a different position. I have included a youtube video of the bug in action.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Have just installed and tested the unit and find that it does all that it advertises. I installed in a 1982 Mercedes 240D and wanted something that would blend in well, the black with gold lettering looks classy and fits in well with the wood veneer of the rest of the dash. * Variable color display is very nice (especially the different color for settings/menu). Able to pick a pale yellow that matches the ~1980s lighting. There is a lot of glare from the screen at certain angles, so if your stereo is going to be mounted high in the dash that could be a problem (not a big concern as my stereo is down by the ashtray and gear shiftier. * JVC Android app (on my AT&T Galaxy S2) works well, intuitive controls, but it does take about 1 minute to pair and boot up on average. I do wish it had volume swipe controls (update please) * HD radio sounds great even though my antenna is stuck halfway down (transitions from SD to HD have not been noticeable. * Setup and install was intuitive. Menu system is intuitive (but I am an engineer, so take that with a grain of salt) * Pairing and searching times with my iPad or iPod nano are very good. As good as a Sony stereo I bought last year for my Honda and WAY faster than my stupid Clarion that was also in my Honda. All in all I'm very impressed that this level of features and sound quality is in a $200 head unit.

Pros: Feature filled, intuitive interface, good customization for a single line display single-DIN unit, good sound quality, nice color customization, looks good in an older German car.

Cons: No vol control in JVC-android app, glare from glossy screen cover

    Nice, but not perfect

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good unit. I was looking for something that could connect with Sirius (not SiriusXM), and had bluetooth streaming. It does both well. Sounds great. There can be a glare when it's sunny. There is no clock when the unit is muted or off which is frustrating. It's not easy to get to presets above 6, though it does give you 18. The unit can be hard to read during the day even at high brightness.

Pros: Does what I wanted it too.

Cons: No clock when off or muted. Display can be hard to read during the day.

Just install this radio in my Hyundai Elantra, the previous JVC radio was over twelves years old. I add it installed in my other vehicles. This new radio is very good. Ilisten to Sirus radio mostly. I like the fact that it has blue tooth for my phone and mp3 player. The buttons are somewhat small for big hands, but I have no problems with that. The display is nice and the sound is very good. I'm definitely happy with my decision to purchase this product. I reviewed other stereos and found that this JVC model offer everything I was looking for.

Pros: Android app, bluetooth and lots of options. Easy to use if you follow the manual.

    Cons: Small buttons

I was looking for a unit that would stream audio via bluetooth from an android phone. This receiver works great, especially for pandora. Song information from pandora is displayed on the unit. HD radio is a nice addition as well.

Pros: Bluetooth from android, tons of options.

Cons: Corded microphone that is hard to get in a good spot so you don't sound like you're in a tunnel. Glare makes it near impossible to read in bright sunlight.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love this receiver. I haven't bought much in the way of aftermarket car audio in a long time, as the OEM products have improved a great deal. However, I was looking for some specific features, such as front USB, bluetooth connectivity to my Android phone, HD Radio, and Sirius Ready, just in case. This receiver fits the bill nicely. I haven't tried the JVC Android App, nor have I gotten into Pandora yet, but I'm looking forward to playing around with those capabilities. Only reason I didn't give five stars across the board is access to FM presets 7-18 aren't intuitive or easy. Love the "ColorFlow" selection, which slowly rotates all of the colors in the display. Remote is handy and easy to use.

Pros: Front USB, Bluetooth, "Color Flow", Remote

Cons: Setting and using FM presets 7-18 is not very intuitive or easy.

Excellent value. The only complaint I have is I wished the Bluetooth mic was more sensitive. It can be a little cumbersome to hear my wife speaking when she is using the Bluetooth. Other than that, I have no complaints. Awesome features! Be careful with the color coding on your harness. I had one wire that was a different color for my 2005 Chevy silverado adapter. I did not have to cut any rear brackets out of my truck due to My truck not having the added features of onstar. Very straight forward. Great job with directions crutchfield!

Pros: Easy adaptability if you don't have an onstar setup

Cons: Bluetooth not all that great

Great value for the money. I wanted a radio with bluetooth for both handsfree and music streaming and this one fit the bill. It connects easily to my Android phone and lets me talk hands free and stream music from my phone. Audio quality is excellent and install was a breeze. There's an android app available in the market but I haven't gotten it to work yet so I can't comment on it.

Pros: bluetooth included, allows multiple pairings if you have more than one phone. The display colors can be adjusted for day, night, menu, buttons and display all separately.

Cons: I'm not a huge fan of small displays. Seems like with LED tech these days they could have nicer display screens that show more information instead of just 11 character LCD or whatever.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a solid head unit. It's extremely easy to install and easy to use. The menus & buttons are very logical compared to some other brands out there. Produces great sound from a disc and USB or bluetooth connected devices. Built in HD radio is a nice plus, and the custom colorization option is only icing on the cake if you want a deck that will match the rest of your car's interior dash lighting.

Pros: Custom colorization, CD/MP3 capability, built in bluetooth & HD radio, front & rear aux & USB inputs, easy iPod & Pandora functionality, ease of use. This thing has almost all of the bells and whistles you could want.

Cons: Only thing really missing is RDS for radio. HD radio signal is a little lacking, but that could just as easily be my antenna. Even after fiddling with the bluetooth phone options like noise reduction and mic level, talking on the phone through the head unit bluetooth produces some echo for the person you're talking to, however that might be the case with a lot of bluetooth head units out there.

Fours across the board. Decent power, user friendly, bolted right into my 07 F150 with the adapter harness and installation kit.

Pros: HD Radio, user adjustable color display, front mount USB, electronic EQ/tone controls, large LED display

Cons: Dim display during daylight hours, no clock function when unit is off unless the DISP button is initiated then it only shows time for a few seconds (not important to some users, but I like to see the time displayed on mine even when the unit is off like factory head units). Setting up for user parameters can be cumbersome as the Menu function will default back to the beginning after each user set-up....or I may be doing it wrong - either way it's a bit of an issue.

    HD Radio

Built-in HD Radio: With the built-in HD Radio tuner, you can receive digital AM/FM broadcasts from local stations where available. HD Radio technology significantly improves audio quality and reception, as well as includes information such as artist name and song titles or traffic news, viewable on the receiver's display. HD Radio Technology will deliver high-quality digital sound. AM digital will have FM-like quality in stereo, while FM digital will have CD-like quality sound with static free and clear reception.

Note: HD Radio is the system for digital AM and FM broadcasting in the U.S. More than 2,000 radio stations are broadcasting their primary signals in digital HD Radio technology, as a free service. Go to to check for HD Radio stations in your area.

Multicasting: In addition to conventional broadcasts, with HD Radio broadcasting, it is possible to choose from up to 8 multicast programs (HD1 to HD8 and analog). There are also data programs for each program.

Text Display: AM/FM digital stations can offer text and data such as artist names and song titles. The built-in HD Radio tuner displays song title, artist and station information on the display of the JVC Arsenal KD-AHD75BT.

iTunes Tagging: It is possible to save the song's information (tag) from a HD Radio broadcasting station to your USB-direct connected iPod/iPhone. The songs will show up in a playlist called "Tagged" in iTunes the next time you sync your iPod/iPhone. Then you can directly buy the songs you want from the iTunes Music Store. You can "tag" up to 50 songs.

Note: Your iPod/iPhone must have at least 50MB of free space to "tag" and transfer songs. iTunes 7.4 or later is required to purchase "tagged" songs.

Analog Broadcasts: In addition to HD AM/FM stations, the KD-AHD75BT can also receive conventional analog AM/FM broadcasts.

Digital/Analog Tuning: You can setup the KD-AHD75BT to search both analog and digital radio stations, only HD Radio stations, or analog radio stations only.

Digital/Analog Presets: You can set up to 18 FM and 6 AM digital/analog presets stations as presets (HD Radio multicast channels can also be preset). Presets can be set manually or automatically, using Strong-station Sequential Memory (SSM).

Radio Timer: You can tune into a preset station at a specific time regardless of the head unit's current source. You can activate the Radio Timer once, daily, or turn it completely off.

Mono Mode: If an analog FM stereo broadcast is hard to receive, you can manually switch the tuner to Mono operation.

IF Filter: You can also switch the analog tuner's IF filter to Wide or Auto to increase/decrease the sensitivity.

US/European Tuning: You can set the built-in AM/FM tuner between US standard and European tuning spacing.

    Built-in Bluetooth

USB Bluetooth Adapter: The JVC KD-AHD75BT comes supplied with a USB Bluetooth Adapter (KS-UBT1) which is pre-installed into the head unit's rear-panel USB input, making the KD-AHD75BT Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR certified. The KD-AHD75BT supports Bluetooth hands-free communication and wireless audio streaming.

Note: The USB Bluetooth Adapter (KS-UBT1) must remain plugged into the rear-panel USB port, or can also be installed in the head unit's front-panel USB port.

Bluetooth Technology: Bluetooth is a two-way wireless communication system allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, as well as wirelessly stream audio from your Bluetooth enabled portable music player using the JVC in-dash CD receiver. Bluetooth wireless technology operates on a 2.4GHZ frequency band within a range of approximately 10 meters (about 33 feet).

Bluetooth Profiles: In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP (Hands Free Profile), OPP (Object Push Profile), PBAB (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).

Pairing: Your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone or digital audio player must be paired with KD-AHD75BT before hands-free & wireless operation. You can register up to five Bluetooth enabled devices with the JVC head unit. You can keep two phones connected at all times (only one can be used during a call).

Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the JVC head unit. See JVC's Bluetooth compatibility chart for a complete list of compatible Bluetooth enabled devices.

External Microphone: The JVC KD-AHD75BT includes an external microphone to carry on your side of your phone conversation and voice command dialing. The external wired microphone offers improved audio quality versus an integrated microphone, so you can be heard easier over noisy traffic and road noise. You can adjust the level of the microphone without affecting the other sources. The external microphone features an attached 12' cable terminated by a right-angle 3.5mm connector which plugs into the mic input on the rear-panel of the head unit. The microphone offers an integrated mounting bracket which can be clipped to your vehicle's sun-visor or taped to your dash. The external microphone measures 0.525" (diameter) x 1.485" (depth).

Note: This unit does not offer an integrated front-panel microphone.

Bluetooth Hands-Free Communication: The head unit supports Bluetooth hands-free communication for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The front-panel controls of the KD-AHD75BT can be used to dial a number, answer an in-coming call, or end a call. The unit also features an external microphone (featuring adjustable gain), so you can carry on your side of the conversation while listening to the caller through your vehicles speakers (front or all). During a conversation, you can switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode.

    • Answering a Call: When a call comes in, a ring-tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker, the head unit's display will flash (Ring Color), and the caller's name or phone number will be displayed. You can answer the call from the KD-AHD75BT's front-panel controls, or setup the head unit to automatically answer the incoming call. You can adjust the head unit's ring color from the unit's 29 preset colors or 30,000 custom colors.
    • Dialing a Number: Using the KD-AHD75BT, you can dial a phone number in one of the following ways:
      • Entering a Phone Number: Allows you to directly dial a phone number up to 32 digits from the head unit's front-panel rotary dial.
      • Speed Dialing: You can store up to 6 contacts in the memory of this unit for speed dialing.
      • Phone Book: You can dial by using the downloaded phone book. You can download phone book data from your cell phone to the KD-AHD75BT. If you phonebook contains a lot of contact numbers, you fast search (+/-10, 100, or 1000) through the phonebook by using the unit's control dial. You can also do an A-Z search to scroll the downloaded phonebook. Up to 5,000 numbers can be stored for each registered cell phone. Each number can be up to 32 digits long.
      • Call Log: The Call Log is a list of calls that have originated from and were received by this unit that you can dial. You can select Outgoing, Incoming, or Missed calls (up to 50 each).
      • Voice Dialing: If your mobile phone supports voice recognition, then you can dial out by voice command. Simply speak into the included microphone.

SMS: If your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone is compatible with SMS (Short Message Service), the JVC head unit will notify you when a message has been received. You must then use your phone to check the message.

Note: You cannot read, edit, or send a message through this unit.

    Audio Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The JVC Arsenal KD-AHD75BT utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The KD-AHD75BT is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit.

CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the KD-AHD75BT are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the KD-AHD75BT are as follows:

    • CEA2006 Specs: 20 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels (200 total watts)

Amplifier Gain Control: When you are using the KD-AHD75BT with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to "low," the volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 30 (maximum). When using speakers rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to "high," and the volume control will range from 0 to 50.

Volume Adjust: The input level of each source (other than FM) is adjustable relative to the FM radio volume, so there isn't a significant volume difference when changing sources. Each source is individually adjustable from -5 to +5.

Pro EQ: The KD-AHD75BT is equipped with JVC's Pro EQ. The integrated equalizer offers 7 preset sound modes (Flat, Natural, Dynamic, Vocal Boost, Bass Boost, User) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The User mode allows you to manually adjust the head unit's 3-band parametric EQ (Frequency, Level, and Q-Factor).

    Pro EQ
    Frequency Level Q
    Bass 60, 80, 100, 200 Hz +/- 12 dB (-6 to +6) 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 2.0
    Midrange 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.5 kHz +/- 12 dB (-6 to +6) 0.75, 1.0, 1.25
    Treble 10.0, 12.5, 15.0, 17.5 kHz +/- 12 dB (-6 to +6) Fixed

Source Link EQ: This feature allows you to store Pro EQ bass, middle and treble tone settings for each source (CD, HD Radio, Aux, USB, iPod, Bluetooth, and Pandora).

Loud (Loudness): This feature boosts low and high frequencies to produce a well-balanced sound at a low volume level. You can turn this feature on or off.

Yes. There are three separate EQ modes. Preset, Standard, and Pro. The Pro is great, though a little challenging to figure out. This is my third JVC head unit, and the best yet. [ CHARLES A  Aug 19, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: That JVC Arsenal KD-AHD75BT is not compatible with a cd changer. It is hard to find that feature, most units don't have that capability anymore. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. The ability to retain steering wheel controls with aftermarket receivers will be determined by the receiver you are using and the vehicle you have. For full information on this type of integration (including the parts you will need) please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  Apr 04, 2014 ]  Staff
Arsenal refers to JVC's premiere line of receivers. [ ADAM  Sep 17, 2014 ]
Misspelled marketing term, but meaning an arsenal of features. This unit does come with a lot, e.g. Blue Tooth (hands free phone, and wireless music streaming, HD Radio, Preamp outputs including Subwoofer Out, CD Player, USB Front and Back. This unit includes the blue tooth adapter as well. Not all units do. Hope this helps. [ VICTOR H  Feb 03, 2014 ]
David C I have no idea how the name was choosen. [ DAVID  Feb 03, 2014 ]
    I don`t know what it means, but it works great. [ HERBERT G  Feb 02, 2014 ]
Arsenal 1 a : an establishment for the manufacture or storage of arms and military equipment b : a collection of weapons 2 : store, repertoire It is a unique model name given utilized by JVC for this series of radios. [ Robert  Feb 02, 2014 ]
It is JVC's name for their high end vehicle components. It has no special meaning just their use of words for a line of new high end units. [ BOB  Feb 02, 2014 ]
Granted "arsenal" may not have been my first choice for a car receiver, but in this context "arsenal" is referring to the many features included with this unit. I appreciate the available bluetooth and simplicity in setting it up. The various inputs (USB and 1/8" audio jack) are conveniently located on the front for adding mp3 players etc. and ipods can be controlled with this unit as well. The list of features goes on but, I mentioned the ones I was specifically interested in when I made my purchase. Best regards!!! [ dan  Feb 01, 2014 ]
arsenal: a collection of weapons and military equipment stored by a country, person, or group. In the case of this receiver, it means that it has a large collection of features. [ MARK  Feb 01, 2014 ]
Arsenal is simply JVC's premium line of car audio equipment. [ Justin  Feb 01, 2014 ]
It has bunch of options and powerfull sound. [ JAMES  Feb 01, 2014 ]
Don't know haven't used that option but so far the unit is great [ JEAN P  Jan 17, 2014 ]
Karlos, I wish i could answer your question but the radio was bought for my step son as a Christmas gift. Sorry i couldn't be more helpful. [ KEVIN  Jan 17, 2014 ]
Yes, it does - it will shuffle the current folder or the entire flash drive (it will also do repeat by track or folder). It also has one of the largest track/folder recognition capacities I've seen: up to 20000 tracks, 999 tracks per folder, up to 2000 folders and up to 8 folder levels deep... at 128 kbps that's around 5 MB per 5 min song, so around 100 GB of storage. I've used it with a 64 GB micro SDXC card in a SD card adapter into a USB flash drive adapter with no problems... Hope that helps! [ JIM  Jan 16, 2014 ]
Awesome, that's reassuring. I ended up getting a "SanDisk Cruzer Fit CZ33 32GB USB Flash Drive (SDCZ33-032G-B35)" which shouldn't stick out much more than 1/4" tops. [ Karlos  Jan 16, 2014 ]
Yes. I love this radio. all I listen to is my USB. The one on the rear I mounted away so my big dogs don't hit it and break it like on the front. Sounds good to. [ WILLIAM  Jan 16, 2014 ]
Looks like I just needed to click on the "See more info on this item" button. It's called :All Random" instead of shuffle. "Playback Modes: In addition to Normal playback, you can select from Repeat and Random playback modes. Repeat: Track Repeat (plays the current track repeatedly), Folder Repeat (plays all tracks of the current folder repeatedly), Off (cancels repeat function) Random: Folder Random (plays all tracks of the current folder, then the tracks of the next folder in random), All Random (plays all tracks of the current USD device at random), Off (cancels random function)" [ Karlos  Jan 16, 2014 ]
