Get a lot of calls while you're in the car? Why risk an accident fumbling around for your phone or driving with one hand? You can add the safety and convenience of hands-free calling and step up your car's audio performance with this JVC CD receiver and Bluetooth adapter package. When a call comes in, you can talk naturally and hear your caller over your speakers — a lot like talking to someone in the front seat. Most importantly, you can keep your eyes straight ahead and your hands on the wheel.

KDR-320 CD receiver
JVC's KD-R320 CD receiver gives you the basic functions you want, but beneath the surface lies a music lover's bag of tricks that'll have you enjoying your favorite tunes like never before.

Dual auxiliary inputs
Let's face it, there are plenty of ways to play your tunes these days. JVC built two auxiliary inputs into the KD-R320, one on the front and one in back. This way, you can hook up a more permanent source, like a Dock & Play satellite radio, to the rear input, while leaving the convenient front input for connecting your iPod® or another MP3 player. You can load up a CD with MP3 and WMA files, too — it's easy to fit several albums on a single disc that way.

Advanced sound controls
JVC uses a 24-bit digital-to-analog converter in this receiver. What's this mean to you? You'll hear more detail and clarity, and a more focused sound from your CDs. JVC packs the KD-R320 with a flexible, 3-band parametric EQ that gives you extra control over adjusting the high, mid, and low frequencies. A built-in high-pass filter lets you trim the low bass from your speakers, allowing them to run at peak efficiency. Adding a powered sub? You can switch the preamp outputs to subwoofer mode, and use the subwoofer level control for on-the-fly changes.

KS-BTA100 Bluetooth adapter
The handy KS-BTA100 Bluetooth adapter lets you answer incoming calls and place outgoing calls with compatible phones — all without having to fumble around for your cell phone. You can also stream music from compatible devices — use the dedicated keys to play your tunes.

Setup is easy. Just plug the KS-BTA100 into stereo's rear auxiliary input, then mount it in a convenient spot. Once it's connected, it only takes a few minutes to pair up your phone, and you'll be on your way to safer driving, talking with both hands on the wheel and keeping your eyes on the road. If your phone has voice recognition dialing, you'll even be able to dial your favorite numbers just by saying a name.

Note: Compatibility of this device may vary, depending on your phone and service provider.

    great stereo

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We purchased this stereo for our daughter car. We picked this one over one with a built-in Bluetooth because it was a better price for the product, and it had better reviews. We spent a lot of time reading reviews of other stereo. We have had no problems, the hands-free bluetooth works flawlessly.

Pros: Looks good, works great, very good price for the product.

    Cons: none

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Way worth the money Still need to spend more time with the manual to get all the items to my settings, can turn it up now without it being all distorted.

Pros: So much better than what was in there. The original radio was not a Bose system, reminded me of the stereos back in the early 60's. Fit perfectly and sounds great - a very nice receiver and Bluetooth for about $120 - you can't beat it!

Cons: Because of the design of the dash , it's hard to see the three buttons for the CD

    Great Product for cheap!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm 51 years old and have been putting in radios in cars since I was a teen. Back then, you had to cut wires find a way to make it fit and be prepared when it didn't to find another way to put it in to stay. Not so much anymore. The hardest part of this installation was opening the box. The included 'stuff' that came with it made this installation look like it was a stock radio. But the 'stock' look disappears when the power button is pushed. The radio is awesome - with teriffic sound in any mode (AM/FM/CD/BT/F-aux/. The bluetooth phone accessory is something I'd expect on a much higher priced unit - and the quality is top notch. This radio blows me away - and I find myself finding whatever excuse I can come up with to take my 1999 Sebring out for a ride. I wish I would have replaced my stock radio a long time ago - and after this experience, you can rest assured that anytime I need a new radio for any of my other cars, Crutchfield's going to have one coming my way. Excellent customer support - a superb product - installation I could have done with my eyes closed - well, almost... Crutchfield has a customer for life!

The Bluetooth functionality on this receiver is flawless and the sound quality is great. I pretty much only use the receiver for phone calls and playing music from my Nexus S (Android) phone. I only wish that I could change the button colors. Tri- color LED's aren't that expensive.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We replaced the factory CD/tape deck in our 2005 Highlander, but kept the speakers. Sound: better than factory Ease of use: Easy - just minor setup when you first start. The rest is second nature. Looks: Kit from Crutchfield made it look good even when I installed it. Not so thrilled with the red backlighting on the buttons, but it is dimmable. Best feature: Bluetooth - have tested connectivity for making calls on 3 different phones. Audio bluetooth streaming from two different phones including iPhone 4 and Android. All work great.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Lets just start by saying this was the easiset install ever. Crutchfield has done it again they make it so easy. Why anyone would pay a pro to do it has to be plain lazy. Had this gear in and up and running in about 35 minutes. Sounds great with the stock speakers which will be upgraded soon. The blue tooth is not complicated paired with my phone immidiatly and sounds great very crisp and clear, better than the cell phone itself.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This radio is everything I need and does it all well. I wanted bluetooth for both calls and streaming Pandora from my phone while driving and this radio works perfectly for my needs. The pairing process is quick and painless. If for some reason my phone doesn't pair when I start the vehicle all I have to do is press the big phone button on the bluetooth remote and it is paired in seconds. The sound quality is superior to my factory radio and pushes my mopar kicker 6 inch speakers just the right amount. I love how this radio still has the radio preset buttons, this is a big reason I went with this radio vs. some of the more expensive ones. The call quality is very good and I have had no complaints about the quality of my voice while on calls so I figure the mic works well. This system with the radio and the bluetooth has worked great for me and the price was really very competitive considering I got all the install hardware as well as the wiring adapter for my vehicle. I recommend purchasing this radio.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm not sure what other people are talking about but I find this head unit very easy to operate. I really enjoy the bluetooth feature as I don't need to run an aux cable to my iphone anymore. Handsfree calling is a breeze and the clarity is pretty impressive. The EQ settings on the head unit have really assisted in getting the sound I desire from my Sound Ordnance P-57s and the Sound Ordnance B8-PT. The remote, albeit a bit small is a bonus in my opnion. I simply don't think there's a better value for the money. If you can find a head unit with bluetooth streaming and calling of this clarity for a better value let me know. Of course, as always the Crutchfield customer service didn't fail to impress.

    2000 Honda Accord
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I spent a lot of time researching this product among a few other options. I chose this unit because of the bluetooth capability and the price point. I installed the unit last night and took it for a test run. I am absolutely thrilled I bought this unit (and from Crutchfield - such a great buying experience). I installed the bluetooth contol on the left side of my 2000 Honda Accord dash (next to the cruise control button). Called my wife using the bluetooth and she said it sounded like I was in the room with her - very clear. Audio streaming is excellent, no lag/skips. Only complaint is that it doesn't automatically play the iPhone when I get back in the car - have to push play on the bluetooth control. It does pick up from the last point where you left off, though. Crutchfield did it again for me - they're the best!

    Great deal for the money

Steve D from Rome, GA on 9/14/2011

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent deal, works great for an inexpensive receiver. The high-pass filter is quite high. I could not find the frequency documented, but it sounds like it is well over 80, possibly over 100 Hz. The bass is just not present with the HPF on. Paired this with the Boston SE85's. With the HPF off the sound is very full and rich. Plenty of power to drive the Bostons without an external amplifier. Basic Bluetooth works, but there is no real integration with the receiver. All BT controls are on the external dongle. The receiver's controls do not control the BT, and no data is passed to the receiver's display. That being said, the included features work clearly and flawlessly. Phone conversation is excellent, and the music streaming sounds great.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great unit at first glance. Obviously not a top level unit, but excellent value. I'm using this as a replacement for the factory base model radio in my truck because I miss the Bluetooth and factory input in my old car. So far, it has worked wonderfully and the sound quality is much better than the factory unit. Bluetooth has proved seamless so far and works well. Crisp clear voices. Bonus: I start the truck, press Play on the Bluetooth control and Google Music starts playing within seconds from my phone (HTC EVO) through the car speakers. Also, the track name appears on the head unit display. Kind of a bummer that you can't skip tracks with the unit, you have to use the BT control but it's not a big deal. Ergonomics could be a bit better, but overall an awesome upgrade to a factory system that had no aux input before.

Crutchfield advisor Matthew put the system together after asking me a great deal about my musical tastes, and let me tell you: he nailed it! It is EXACTLY the sound I was looking for, and I couldn't be happier! Thanks Matthew and Crutchfield!

Very Nice Quality... Awesome Sound ... Bluetooth works Great the call quality is clear and the microphone picks up well! JVC has a Winner with this package. You cant go wrong buying this. This would be a great gift for younger people who can't go without talking on a cell phone in a car, the blue tooth will give them less distraction and they can keep both hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. I would buy from JVC again.

Ordered this for my Pontiac Vibe. The package from Crutchfield included everything needed to install. Radio looks good installed and the backlighting matches the rest of the interior electronic lighting. Streams audio from my DroidX (Pandora, Slacker, Tune-In) great. Can skip to the next song in Pandora from the Bluetooth control. Great product and great price. Would order this again.

    1998 Toyota Tacoma
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this primarily for the bluetooth streaming and phone calling from my Android phone. I experimented a bit and found that placing the bluetooth microphone right above my head resulted in the clearest audio with the least noise on the other end of the line. I used sticky-back velcro (the hook side) to stick the mic to the headliner, and hid the wiring behind the trim on the pillar. When you get a call, the unit switches to the BT Phone mode and lets you answer by just pushing the button on the mic. It connects to my phone instantly when I turn on the vehicle, so there's no fiddling around for the connection. I may even buy this same unit for my other vehicle.

Bringing a 92 into this century

Knarf from Ridley, PA on 6/30/2011

This stereo and the Crutchfield experience were, all that! My 1992 dash looks phat with the old factory radio GONE and the new set up installed. Not only do I have CD but Bluetooth to boot. It don't get no sicker. Now I can communicate with the world without endangering anyone on the road. It's a good thing! I worked in dealership service departments for 25 years. I swore by factory. I followed the instructions provided to the T and OMG what a fit. They covered all the bases and enabled me to do a Proffesional job.

    Display Features

Detachable Face: The JVC KD-R320 features a detachable face to deter theft. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired.

Note: No face case is included with this unit. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can be purchased for this unit.

LCD: The head unit features a 14-segment, one-line LCD with adjustable brightness and dimmer settings.

Brightness: The unit offers an adjustable display and button illumination brightness level (0-31) for day and nighttime driving.

Display/Button Illumination Dimmer: The display/button illumination dimmer can be set to Off (normal brightness at all times), On (display/button illumination is always dimmed), or Auto (display dims when 12-volts is applied to the orange/white illumination lead).

    Audio Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The JVC KD-R320 utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior CD sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The KD-R320 is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit.

CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the KD-R320 are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the KD-R320 are as follows:

    • CEA2006 Specs: 20 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels (200 total watts)

Amplifier Gain Control: When you are using the KD-R320 with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to "low," the volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 30 (maximum). When using speakers rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to "high," and the volume control will range from 0 to 50.

Volume Adjust: The input level of each source (other than FM) is adjustable relative to the FM radio volume, so there isn't a significant volume difference when changing sources. Each source is individually adjustable from -5 to +5.

Pro EQ: The KD-R320 is equipped with JVC's Pro EQ. The integrated equalizer offers 7 preset sound modes (Flat, Natural, Dynamic, Vocal Boost, Bass Boost, User) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The User mode allows you to manually adjust the head unit's 3-band parametric EQ (Frequency, Level, and Q-Factor).

    TonePro EQ
    Bass60, 80, 100, 200 Hz+/- 12 dB (-6 to +6)1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 2.0

    Treble10.0, 12.5, 15.0, 17.5 khz+/- 12 dB (-6 to +6)Fixed

Loud (Loudness): This feature boosts low and high frequencies to produce a well-balanced sound at a low volume level. You can turn this feature on or off.

Switchable Preamp Output: The KD-R320 is equipped with one pair of 2.5V preamp outputs. You can set the Rear/SW preamp outputs for connecting rear speakers (through an external amplifier) or for connecting a subwoofer (through an external amplifier). When set for rear speakers, the rear outputs operate with the unit's fader control. When set for subwoofer, the outputs are non-fading.

Built-in Crossovers: The JVC KD-R320 features a built-in high-pass filter for the unit's front & rear speakers and a low-pass filter for the unit's subwoofer output.

    • High-Pass Filter: You can activate a high-pass filter (fixed) for the unit's front & rear speaker channels, so low frequency signals are cut off from your system's front & rear speakers.
    • Low-Pass Filter: When the unit's Rear/SW preamp output is set to Subwoofer, you can set the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter at 55Hz, 85Hz, or 120Hz.

Subwoofer Level: When the unit's Rear/SW preamp output is set to Subwoofer, you can adjust the head unit's subwoofer level between 0 and 8.

Key-Touch Tone: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

    Radio Functions

AM/FM Tuner: The JVC KD-R320 features a built-in AM/FM tuner with manual, seek, and preset tuning.

Preset Tuning: You can store a total of 18 FM stations presets and 6 AM station presets. The radio allows you to set your AM/FM stations manually or automatically.

IF Filter: You can also switch the tuner's IF filter to Wide or Auto to increase/decrease the sensitivity.

Mono: If an analog FM stereo broadcast is hard to receive, you can manually switch the tuner to Mono operation.

US/European Tuning: You can set the built-in AM/FM tuner between US standard and European tuning spacing,

    Disc Playback

Disc Compatibility: The unit features a single disc player that will playback CD-Audio, CD-Text, and finalized CD-R/CD-RW audio discs.

MP3/WMA Playback: The KD-R320 can play MP3 (8-320 kbps)/WMA files (8-192 kbps) that have been recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs. The disc must be recorded in one of the following formats: ISO 9660 Level 1/Level 2, Joliet, Romeo or Windows long file. Each disc can have a maximum of 8 folder hierarchies, 255 folders, and no more than a total of 512 files and/or folders on each disc. The unit also supports IDTag3 (version 1.0, 1.1, 2.2, 2.3 or 2.4) for album and artist information from MP3 or WMA files.

Track/Folder List: The Track/Folder List displays a list of MP3/WMA folders and tracks on a loaded CD, so you can easily access your music. The Track/Folder List will also display the list of track titles on a CD Text disc.
