Our take on the JVC KD-R530

Can't live without your iPod? JVC's KD-R530 CD receiver makes it easy to take it in the car. All you need to do is connect your player to the front USB slot and you're good to go. You can dive into your music library using the KD-R530's controls, and enjoy better sound quality than you get with an auxiliary input connection. With your iPhone® connected, you can also stream PANDORA® Internet Radio through a free iPhone app.

Separated Variable Color display

Separated Variable Color display

The KD-R530 features a super cool display that lets you change the colors on the controls independent from those on the screen — with over 30,000 possible shades per side. You can match your receiver to your dash, honor your alma mater, go with a patriotic theme...your choice. My personal favorite is to let the colors cycle constantly for an ever-changing look.

Wow, sounds great

JVC packs the KD-R530 with the stuff you need to make music sound great in your car. For example, a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) turns your digital tunes into an analog signal you can hear, but your iPod's DAC is meant for sending the signal to a pair of earbuds or headphones, not the speakers in your car. JVC's superior 24-bit DAC takes care of that, so you enjoy fuller, more detailed sound.

Plus, you'll get more power than your factory stereo can deliver, which makes a huge difference in sound — not just louder, but more well-defined, too. You can adjust the sound to your taste using sophisticated 3-band equalizer, while high- and low-pass filters let you send your speakers the frequencies they were designed to handle.

— over 15 million songs, available instantly

MOG is an award-winning online music service with one of the largest and best-sounding streaming catalogs in the industry. It's the only service to offer all of its music in the 320 kbps MP3 format — that higher bit rate translates to better sound. In fact, we use it frequently in the Crutchfield Labs to test high-end audio gear. MOG's "Primo" service ($9.99/month) gives you unlimited, ad-free access to their extensive music library of over 15 million songs on a wide range of devices including Sonos® and Logitech® Squeezebox™ network music players, Samsung TVs, your computer, iPad®, iPhone®, and Android™ devices. Just pair your iPhone to this JVC receiver, and you can control the music and view artist/song info on the JVC's screen.

Adding on

You can talk hands-free with the help of JVC's Bluetooth® adapter (not included). Two sets of preamp outputs make it easy to add amps and subs, and you can switch the rear outputs over to subwoofer mode so you can adjust your bass without disturbing your faders. You'll also get two auxiliary inputs for hooking up more gear, like a Dock & Play satellite radio.

iPod note: If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver.

Pros: looks great, i-pod functionality, Pandora, cool features...I have been purchasing JVC products for over 25 years and they always build a solid and reliable product for the price. I highly recommend any of their products....They actually LAST- Thank You

Cons: DIN mount adapter kit a little loose but not the overall JVC package. EQ controls on the fly could be better, but once you dial it in...IT'S There!!!

    2003 Toyota Echo
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought the JVC KDR-530 for my 2003 Toyota Echo and it looks great. I have almost 0 knowledge about cars but thanks to Crutchfield, I was able to do the install all by myself. I had a cheap aftermarket Boss receiver that was installed by a friend that had no wire harness, so figuring out how it was wired was a bit of a challenge. After a couple minutes I was able to figure it out and the rest was cake. Sound quality is awesome. I feel more kick in my stock speakers bass. I would have to agree with some reviews that the buttons are a tad small. I use the forward skip button a lot, but I keep accidentally hitting the source button right next to it. Perhaps I just need to get used to the new interface. Overall great receiver and would definitely recommend to others.

Pros: Easy Install Great Sound Quality Awesome Variable Colors Fast Shipping Great price!

Cons: Buttons are a tad small.

Good stereo not so easy installation

    2003 Volkswagen Jetta
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a 2003 VW Jetta and did a self install with the equipment Crutchfield provided. First, I have a double DIN stereo stock in my car, which they knew prior to shipping my order but they only sent me 2 radio removal keys. I t is awesome that they send these to you for free but I needed four to do my installation. Customer Service was great and sent two more right out but I got sick of waiting and cut two out of old credit cards. The installation was a lot tougher than I thought, it was not plug and play as it seemed it would be. The VW interface adapter I bought to go with the stereo to make it work does not terminate into a plug that connects directly into the stereo. It terminates with 11 wires that must be soldered to the wires attached tot he stereo itself. This was a huge pain in the butt and took some time. It is also important to note that the interface adapter does not come with a red power wire in the stereo bundle, and you have to connect the red wire from the Navi. bundle to the one on the stereo. This was not labeled anywhere. Once the soldering was done, everything worked fairly well. It was a bit difficult finding room to fit all the extra wires and adapters into the DIN but it is doable with patience. The DIN pocket was a bit tricky as well so make sure to push out the metal teeth of the stereo pocket before installing sot hat it stays in place and doesn't wobble while driving. Call tech support if you get tripped up they are pretty good.

Pros: Good sound, good style, customizable colors, charges I Phone 5, Pandora App

Cons: Pain in the neck to install, TINY buttons, TINY remote, can't control Spotify App from radio

    Great Product

Have always been impressed with JVC products for several years. Currently have a JVC home stereo for over 10 years and its still kicking strong. Also purchased the KD-R520 for our third vehicle. Impressed with that one as well. Its easy to use and was somewhat a project to install in the dash. hey, but it's a Honda after all.

Pros: Ease of use. Nice display, easy to read, not to bright at night. USB feature is a plus.

Cons: Nothing that I can be picky about.

This is a great product and works just perfect, how ever the Bluetooth module needs to purchased separately and its of the same cost as the stereo receiver, connections to blue tooth requires some guess work but once connected everything works perfectly.

Pros: MP3 and WMA compatibility, directly sensing usb drives and Apple product line. superb sound.

Cons: bluetooth module is not part of the receiver and connecting requires some guess work

(Great Little Unit) purchased to replace factory unit in my 99 Chevy S10. Great sound quality even with factory speakers. The USB Hub & Aux port what a great concept to have which is my reason for purchasing the unit. This is my second JVC unit purchased from Crutchfield in the last year, I am happy with both

Pros: Different ways to stream music.

Cons: Control buttons are bit to small.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this to replace a factory radio in my 2005 Mazda MPV. Like driving a 7 yr old rusting mini-van wasn't bad enough, the factory radio was junk and provided no upgrade for iPod connectivity. This unit not only looks and sounds great, but it has this neat little illumination "colorflow" feature that put Dad back in cool status with my 7 and 10 yr old, if only temporarily. I'm still surprised how good my factory speakers sound with this thing. I don't care much for the remote...I'm only 12 inches away for pete's sake...and the controls are a little small for my gorilla fingers, but those are minor nuisances. It was easy to install and is a great value. Go get!

Pros: Sounds great, looks great, excellent value, easy to install

    Cons: Buttons/controls a little small

I got this unit for my backhoe. I found it easy to use with plenty of clean sounding power. I hope to get XM to finish up my set up. I've always had Pioneer before, but liked the reviews posted. If I have to buy another, I'd get the same thing again. Greg

Pros: Crystal crear sound, lots of power. The colors for the screen are awsome also. Easy to use.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this radio to replace a Pioneer DEH-6700mp which gave up the ghost in the Camry. The sound is infinitely clearer and the bass seems very punchy. Love the ability to plug in your phone or mp3 player and have info displayed on the unit. I'm still trying to tweak the sound to make the bass sound more natural, which brings me to one of my cons for the unit: the user friendliness of it. It's not very friendly. Everything has to be confirmed, which makes changing things on the road dicey. All in all, it is a very good value receiver. I would recommend it.

Pros: Great features for the price

Cons: Small buttons Not user friendly

    Good price for the sound.

John K from Brunswick, Maine on 7/26/2012

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I used this to replace the factory cassette player/receiver in a Mercedes SL 500. That car had an allegedly good Bose system, with a separate power amp and so-called subs in the rear. Surprisingly, this unit made the whole system sound way better, more clarity, much deeper bass, and, especially, it eliminated a "talky", peaky upper-mid squawk sound that had made me wonder how Bose ever put it name to such a system. Now it sunds like a real system, musical, and the unit price was remarkably low. I am thinking of changing out other radios to this one.

Pros: great sound, powerful, low price

Cons: I really don't like the finicky controls that all modern units have, but that's just me. I'd much rather have separate KNOBS for on/off, bass. treble, balance, source. But nooooooooooooooo. Not this unit's fault - they are all like that, and this one's controls are as easy as any. I did find knobs, on a McIntosh vintage unit, and love it on another car, but those are rare and hard to find, and may be even dead by now.

I don't know where to start on how much of a difference this very affordable radio made in my car from my stock receiver. I don't use the actual radio too much, due to the fact that the USB and AUX ports make it incredibly easy to listen to mine and my friends iPods. It has great sound quality and the color modes make it very stylish.

Pros: USB port, AUX port, Color Modes, Easy to use, Very affordable.

    Cons: Absolutely nothing!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Settings need a getting used to but overall it's a great radio. Features are great, although I haven't had any luck on successfully using a USB flash drive to listen to music. Most of the time it says it is unable to read. Gotta look into that more. Love the variable color change for day/night and the remote comes in handy! Custom EQ helped so much. My factory speakers are crackly so the Pro EQ setting let me adjust accordingly so it doesn't sound as great as I wish, but it doesn't crackle anymore!

Pros: Variable color change (Ooooo)!! iPod charging/controller, aux port, sounds great.

Cons: Some menu settings can be a little confusing.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased the JVC KD-R530 with an open mind and was very surprised and thrilled. Not being mechanically inclined, I did the professional installation which was a young man in his early 20's. It took him less than 15 minutes for the installation and I was out of there. The unit went beyond expectations. My vehicle is a classic 1986 Oldsmobile Cutless Ciera Brougham with original speakers. The sound went from tinny and flat to Carnegie Hall with one install. Sound is far more than expected. Two small downsides...............the internal programming took a few minutes to get used to and the remote is a little small for me as I am 6'3" and weigh 224. It has now become a fingertip exercise and would be more suited to a lady 5'1" and weighing 80 lbs. Awkward but I will get used to it. Functionaries are concise and I like the programmed format. This is my third JVC product and as before........pleasantly surprised and satisified. Will definitely recommend this unit to anyone in the market. Kudos to Crutchfield.

Pros: A lot of bang for the buck.......precise characteristics.......ease of use and the enjoyment factor is high.

Cons: Remote is very small for my use and internal programming takes a few minutes to get comfortable with.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The unit is a great value for the price. The sound and display options are vey customizable! The only issue that I have is that the menu is not very user friendly. The menu does not recall the last section used so you have to scroll through the whole menu each time you want to change something. Also, the remote has very limitted functionality. The clock will not display if you turn the unit off, so if you want to see the clock but not listen to music you have to turn it on a function and then mute or pause it. I am fairly satisfied with the other cool features for the price, but if I had to do it over I would probably go with a pioneer or kenwood for the same price. I have had better luck with those brands in that price range.

    Pros: Sound Quality, Customization

Cons: Poor Interface, Menu not Intuitive

    Advanced Technology At It's Best

John from Talladega, AL on 2/13/2012

This JCV KD-R530 sounds great and it has front and rear auxiliary inputs, plus a front USB port, which allow you to connect an iPod, iPhone 4, MP3 player or other portable audio device with a 3.5mm stereo mini jack. It also has Bluetooth technology which I have a aftermarket bluetooth device plugged in the rear auxiliary input. This radio plays CD, CD-R/RW, WMA and MP3 playback formats. This is the first CD deck that I have own that plays MP3 format. LOVE THIS! This radio also has a separated variable-color display. You can change the color of the display to your favorite color. For me it's RED! This tuner has 24 presets, 6 AM, 18 FM. To be honest with you, I don't listen to much AM/FM radio anymore. I just plug in my iPhone 4 and listen to MP3, Pandora and other radio apps. In closing, this radio has a lot of bang for the bucks! Sounds great and looks great! I highly recommend this to anyone!

Pros: Auxiliary Inputs, Front and Back. USB, Remote Control and Detachable Faceplate.

    Cons: NONE

For the price this unit will be hard to beat! Simplistic in design and functionality, but still has all the "wants". Works flawlessly with an iphone 4G, as well as a usb thumb drive. Radio works well and tunes in stations very quickly. Sound quality and control are great! Will be adding the bluetooth adapter soon.

Pros: -Menu is easy to use -Many color choices to compliment or accent your dash, buttons and display are adjustable seperately -Ipod and usb controls are very straight forward and easy to use. -Good power output -Relatively solid feel overall (good build quality) -Adjustable day and night illumination brightness

Cons: -Small track and folder buttons, takes getting used to. -Display a little hard to see in sunlight

    Display Features

Detachable Face: The JVC KD-R530 CD receiver features a detachable face to deter theft. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired. No face case is included with this unit. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can be purchased for this unit.

Variable Color LCD & Key Illumination: The JVC KD-R530 features 29 color presets for the LCD and button illumination. You can choose one of these color presets or select the ColorFlow mode which scrolls through all 29 color presets. Additionally, there is a User preset, allowing you to individually adjust the intensity of Red, Green, and Blue from 0 to 31; resulting in approximately 30,000 custom color options. The chosen color preset or custom color can be applied to the display panel and the backlighting for all the buttons except the eject button (it remains red). You can choose to use the same color for the LCD display and button illumination, or use a separate color for each one. You can also select a different color for daytime and nighttime in regards to the unit's LCD and button illumination.

Brightness: The unit offers an adjustable display and button illumination brightness level (0-31) for day and nighttime driving.

Display/Button Illumination Dimmer: The display/button illumination dimmer can be set to Off (normal brightness at all times), On (display/button illumination is always dimmed), or Auto (display dims when 12-volts is applied to the orange/white illumination lead).

    USB/iPod/Aux Connectivity

USB Port: The JVC KD-R530 features a front panel USB 2.0 (type-A) port behind a sliding cover for connection of a USB mass-storage class device (such as a USB thumbdrive or digital audio player). The USB port enables audio playback and control of MP3(8-320 kbps)/WMA (32-192 kbps) audio files stored on a portable USB mass-storage class device formatted in FAT 12/16/32. The KD-R530 can recognize up to 255 folders (255 files per folder) and 65,025 total files. The unit also supports IDTag3 (version 1.0, 1.1, 2.2, 2.3 or 2.4) for album and artist information from MP3/WMA files (up to 60 characters). USB portable audio players that can be charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the CD receiver's USB port (5V/1A), and the vehicle's ignition switch is set to ACC or On.

Note: You cannot connect a USB device via a USB hub or Multi-Card Reader to this unit.

iPod/iPhone Direct: The JVC KD-R530's front-panel USB port also acts as an iPod/iPhone high-speed direct connection when used with the USB/iPod cable that came with your iPod/iPhone. An additional iPod cable is available (469USBPOD, sold separately) so you can leave one at home and one in the car. If you have an iPod nano (7th gen), iPod touch (5th gen), or iPhone 5; use the Lighting-to-USB cable that came with your Apple device to connect to the head unit. Using either cable allows audio playback, music navigation, information display, and charging of select iPod/iPhone models from the JVC in-dash head unit.

iPod DAC Bypass: The USB connection allows your iPod/iPhone's stored music to be loaded instantly to the head unit and sound quality to be maximized through the head unit's 24-bit D/A converter, allowing for a Signal to Noise ratio up to 98dB. The JVC head unit supports audio playback of music, podcasts, audiobooks, and music apps stored on your iPod or iPhone.

iPod/iPhone Control: You can choose to operate your iPod/iPhone through the JVC head unit's front-panel controls, from its clickwheel/touchscreen, or via a streamed app from your iPhone.

    • Head Unit: From the head unit's front-panel controls you can search for music by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, Podcast, Genre, Composer, and Audiobook. Once a Playlist or Category is selected, the content is listed in alphabetical order. The KD-R530 also supports Repeat (file/all) and Random (album/all) playback functions of your iPod/iPhone.
    • iPod: You can choose to navigate your iPod or iPhone's stored music from its clickwheel or touchscreen, like you are accustomed to during normal usage.
    • External (App Mode): External Mode lets you enjoy audio content from your downloaded music Apps (such as iHeartRadio, SiriusXM,, Rhapsody, & Slacker) and driver assistant Apps (such as Trapster) streamed to your Apple iPhone, through the JVC KD-R530. You will continue to use your iPhone's touchscreen to navigate and view your apps; the head unit will only display the clock and "EXT Mode".

Note: Access to your iPhone's downloaded application will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone to connect to the Internet.

Pandora App: The Pandora App (free) lets you play music from the Pandora music service through the JVC KD-R530 using your connected Apple iPhone, via the USB/iPod connector cable (included with your iPhone). The JVC KD-R530 provides control over the Pandora music service and displays Artist, Album, and Song information. You can select Pandora stations from your station list; you can sort the station list by date or A-Z. You can also skip song tracks within a station. In addition, you can also give songs a thumbs up/down and bookmark songs/artists. To access Pandora you must have an Apple iPhone (iOS3 or later) with the latest version of the Pandora application from Apple's iTunes App Store. Your iPhone will need an active Data Plan account with connection to the Internet via 3G, EDGE, or WiFi. You will also need a Pandora music service account.

Note: Access to the Pandora service will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone to connect to the Internet. Pandora is not supported in Canada and only available in the United States.

iPod Display: The KD-R530 will display your iPod/iPhone's music file information, when in Head Unit and iPod mode (not in External mode), or listening to Pandora Internet Radio. The head unit can display Track number, Elapsed playing time, Artist name, Song title, and Album label.

iPod Charging: The head unit's USB connection provides 1A of current to power and charge your connected iPod/iPhone when your vehicle's ignition switch is set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position.

Note: If your iPod/iPhone has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it.

Dual Auxiliary Inputs: A front-panel & rear-panel stereo minijack are provided to allow the connection of portable audio sources. Simply connect your portable digital music player to either the unit's front or rear auxiliary input, and you can listen to the audio from the portable player through the speakers in your mobile audio system.

    Audio Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The JVC KD-R530 utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior CD sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The KD-R530 is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit.

CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the KD-R530 are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the KD-R530 are as follows:

    • CEA2006 Specs: 20 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels (200 total watts)

Amplifier Gain Control: When you are using the KD-R530 with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to "low," the volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 30 (maximum). When using speakers rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to "high," and the volume control will range from 0 to 50.

Volume Adjust: The input level of each source (other than FM) is adjustable relative to the FM radio volume, so there isn't a significant volume difference when changing sources. Each source is individually adjustable from -5 to +5.

Pro EQ: The KD-R530 is equipped with JVC's Pro EQ. The integrated equalizer offers 7 preset sound modes (Flat, Natural, Dynamic, Vocal Boost, Bass Boost, User) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The User mode allows you to manually adjust the head unit's 3-band parametric EQ (Frequency, Level, and Q-Factor).

    Pro EQ
    Frequency Level Q
    Bass 60, 80, 100, 200 Hz +/- 12 dB (-6 to +6) 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 2.0
    Midrange 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.5 kHz +/- 12 dB (-6 to +6) 0.75, 1.0, 1.25
    Treble 10.0, 12.5, 15.0, 17.5 khz +/- 12 dB (-6 to +6) Fixed

Source Link EQ: This feature allows you to store Pro EQ bass, middle and treble tone settings for each source (CD, AM/FM, Aux, USB, iPod, and Pandora).

Loud (Loudness): This feature boosts low and high frequencies to produce a well-balanced sound at a low volume level. You can turn this feature on or off.

2.5V/4CH Preamp Output: The KD-R530 is equipped with two pair of 2.5V preamp outputs (Front, Rear/SW). You can set the Rear/SW preamp outputs for connecting a pair of full-range rear speakers (through an external amplifier) or for connecting a subwoofer (through an external amplifier). When set for rear speakers, the rear outputs operate with the unit's fader control. When set for subwoofer, the outputs are non-fading.

Subwoofer Controls: When the unit's Rear/SW preamp output is set to Subwoofer, you can adjust the head unit's subwoofer level between 0 and 8 (separate from the main volume level). You can also adjust the low-pass filter and activate a high-pass filter.

    • Low-Pass Filter: When the unit's Rear/SW preamp output is set to Subwoofer, you can set the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter at 55Hz, 85Hz, or 120Hz.
    • High-Pass Filter: When the unit's Rear/SW preamp output is set to Subwoofer, you can also activate a high-pass filter (fixed at low-pass filter frequency) for the unit's front & rear channels (speaker- or preamp-level), so low frequency signals are cut off from your system's front & rear speakers.

Key-Touch Tone: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

    Disc Playback

Disc Compatibility: The unit features a single disc player that will playback CD-Audio, CD-Text, and finalized CD-R/CD-RW audio discs.

MP3/WMA Playback: The KD-R530 can play MP3 (8-320 kbps)/WMA files (32-192 kbps) that have been recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs. The disc must be recorded in one of the following formats: ISO 9660 Level 1/Level 2, Joliet, Romeo or Windows long file. Each disc can have a maximum of 8 folder hierarchies, 255 folders, and no more than a total of 512 files and/or folders on each disc. The unit also supports IDTag3 (version 1.0, 1.1, 2.2, 2.3 or 2.4) for album and artist information from MP3 or WMA files.

Track/Folder List: The Track/Folder List displays a list of MP3/WMA folders and tracks on a loaded CD, so you can easily access your music. The Track/Folder List will also display the list of track titles on a CD Text disc.

Random/Repeat Modes: The JVC KD-R530 offers the following Repeat and Random playback modes for your audio CDs.

    • Repeat: Track Repeat (plays the current track repeatedly), Folder Repeat (plays all tracks of the current folder repeatedly), Off (cancels repeat function)
    • Random: Folder Random (plays all tracks of the current folder, then the tracks of the next folder in random), All Random (plays all tracks of the current disc at random), Off (cancels random function)

Disc Resume: If you change the source, playback also stops (without ejecting the disc). Next time you select CD for the playback source, the disc will start from where it has been stopped previously.

Off Insert/Eject: A CD disc can be inserted or ejected with the power off. When a disc is inserted with the power off, the unit will automatically power up and begin playback.

Disc Protection: If the ejected disc is not removed within 15 seconds, the disc is automatically inserted again into the loading slot to protect it from dust. The source will change to CD, and the disc will begin playback, even if you have another source selected at the time.

Mounting: For proper disc playback you must install the unit within 30-degrees of horizontal.

    Radio Functions

AM/FM Tuner: The JVC KD-R530 features a built-in AM/FM tuner with manual, seek, and preset tuning.

Preset Tuning: You can store a total of 18 FM stations presets and 6 AM station presets. The radio allows you to set your AM/FM stations manually or automatically.

Radio Timer: You can tune into a preset station at a specific time regardless of the head unit's current source. You can activate the Radio Timer once, daily, or turn it completely off.

IF Filter: You can also switch the tuner's IF filter to Wide or Auto to increase/decrease the sensitivity.

Mono: If an analog FM stereo broadcast is hard to receive, you can manually switch the tuner to Mono operation.

US/European Tuning: You can set the built-in AM/FM tuner between US standard and European tuning spacing.

    Bluetooth/Remote Control

Optional Bluetooth: The unit's rear-panel auxiliary input can also be used to connect JVC's KS-BTA100 Bluetooth Adapter (105KSBTA10, sold separately). The KS-BTA100 must be plugged into the rear-panel auxiliary input, and not the front-panel auxiliary input. The front-panel auxiliary input does not support Bluetooth. The KS-BTA100 gives you hands-free communication from your compatible Bluetooth mobile phone and wireless streaming audio from a Bluetooth enabled digital audio player. The optional JVC Bluetooth Adapter includes a super-sensitive microphone, an Answer/End button, and playback controls. The KD-R530 can be set to automatically mute any music audio to your vehicle's speakers so you can listen to your telephone call using your car speakers.

Note: Not all Bluetooth devices will be compatible. Visit the JVC Mobile Entertainment Bluetooth Support Page for a complete list of compatible Bluetooth enabled devices.

Wireless Remote Control: The KD-R530 comes supplied with a wireless remote control (RM-RK52). The remote contains Attenuator, Sound, Source, Tracking, and Volume functions. The remote operates off of a single CR2025 3V Lithium-cell battery (included).
