Fits your dash and looks fantastic
Make a statement in your dash with this bold JVC CD receiver — it'll look right at home in your large dash opening and it'll give you the great sound and features you want. JVC's Separated Variable Color display lets you change the illumination to perfectly complement your dash lighting.

Great for iPod®, plus control Pandora®
Once you plug your iPod or iPhone® into the convenient front-panel USB input, you can use the KW-R500's oversized knob and buttons to navigate your music library. And with your iPhone connected, you can play your Pandora® Internet Radio stations from your dash, and even skip and rate songs like you do online. Plus JVC puts one auxiliary input on the front panel and another on the rear, so you're all set for adding more audio sources.

Higher-power USB connection
JVC upped the power in their USB port, which lets you keep your smartphone charged, even when it's doing several tasks at once. And with your smartphone connected, you can listen to its internal memory as one source and access the little microSD card as another.

Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (not included) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this JVC stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the JVC, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls.

This is not the one I originally intended on getting, I wanted the bluetooth enabled model, but this head unit exceeded all of my expectations. The installation equipment that came with it fit perfectly, and although I installed it myself, it looks professional.

Pros: Ease of install, button size

Cons: A bit confusing to set up, at first.

My friends watched the step and were very impressed with the plug and play results a quick learn of the steering wheel adaptor and we were dialed in and jamming in no time.

Pros: A perfect fit and a professional result as if it factory unit. Sound and looks great.

Cons: instruction to disable demo mode were a little vague

    Fantastic Radio

Val R from Millville NJ on 10/25/2013

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The sound blew me away from the start. I added new JVS speakers and the sound quality was even better. So many cool features in this radio. 3 Color displays , CD info read out, 4 sound setting on equerlizer and more on Pro-Eq. Mounted with little problems. USB port for I-pod or smart phone or flash drive. RCA connections on back for sub woffer or a per amp The EO radio was $489 and a rebuilt was $365 I got the radio ,front and rear JVC speakers for just under $300. To me that's a good deal.

    Pros: Great sound and features

Cons: FM reception is not as good as my OE radio but the CD sound makes up for that. Took a little time to understand the booklet that came with it for set up..

I had already replaced the OE speakers with the Alpine 500 and 600 speakers and i purchased this to replace the OE Toyota CD unit in my 2000 Toyota 4Runner Limited. Since the JVC is the same size as the OE HU the install was really easy. The HU doenst have window shaking I power but it really does well. I also like the connectivity possibilities of this economic unit as well. My only gripe is the complexity and length of the menu function. But once i began to tinker with various setting and combinations of settings the sound was good but lacked "fullness" and screamed for more bottom end. So, recently picked up Kenwood SW 11 powered subwoofer. At first the JVC HUs sub/rear Line Out (L/O) jacks would only recognize the subwoofer as a rear speaker. As a rear speaker i couldn't use the High or Low filters either . The next day i called JVC customer service to see what my options were. They informed me that this was a common problem with the KW-R 500 and that there was a firmware update that would correct the problem. They sent me a CD-R with the firmware upgrade which i was able to install on the first try. Now everything works as it should and im quite happy.

Pros: Price, sound quality, connectivity options.

Cons: the complexity and length of the of menus. Lack of high/low filters and subwoofer use without the firmware update.

It's "OK"; Audio Quality isn't all that.

Brian from Nashville, TN on 10/16/2013

This box doesn't allow me to give my full review, so I'll shorten it. Easy install, good features, not a "real" parametric EQ (frequency selections are limited and Q adjustable on only bass and mids). RCA outputs for me were relatively weak. Frequency response seems limited in the low end. If you run a sub from the Hi-level input using the speaker/amp section of this unit, you'll lose some super lows. JVC cuts the lower response at about 40Hz (maybe due to heat or wiring requirements). Internal amp is cold, lifeless, and sterile, lacking openness and warmth found in higher-quality systems. I'm NOT impressed. Having to hold down a button or two for 2 seconds to access many settings is unfortunate. Bad idea. I detest manufacturers who think this was a great idea. It's not. I like the design/layout of this unit. Color options and dimmer options are nice, although the Source button can still be a bit bright at the dimmest settings while night-driving. Plenty of power for coaxials and some other speakers. Good reception for radio. I like the read-ahead technology for the CD-Player, USB, iPhone etc. It helps limit the delay for pushing and playback. Although I do wish for an easier way to adjust volume and pause play while deep in the menus. Give the unit an additional $50 in cost to improve the Audio quality and menu access, and we'll win. This was a partial upgrade AND downgrade from the factory system.

Pros: Easy install, good features, looks nice. Plays USB, iPhone, MP3 discs etc.

Cons: Lifeless Audio quality. Very Limited EQ settings.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The cd player had stopped working in my 2005 Silverado several years ago and I also had a door speaker that was not working. After reading the reviews, I bought this JVC head unit to replace it and installed a pair of Kicker speakers in the doors. The sound quality is amazing! I installed this myself and had no problems. I was pleased in knowing that the Crutchfield team was available if needed though. They sent everything I needed for a good installation. The unit almost looks like it came from the factory which was what I was hoping for. I matched up the display color of the radio with the guages. I now listen to most of my music on a 16gb flash drive which is convenient for long commutes. I wish now that I had replaced the factory unit years ago. The Crutchfield web site is fantastic and took the hassle out of finding the right replacement and needed accessories.

Pros: The sound quality is great and the unit display matches the guage color thanks to the numerous color choices available. The usb port is handy for playing your music collection.

Cons: My wife now wants me to install a new stereo in her car after hearing how great the sound is in my old truck.

Just installed this yesterday in my 2005 Silverado 2500HD. Took me a couple hours. I took my time and made everything fit nicely. It sounds pretty good for the money. In the past I've paid a lot more money for car stereos that didn't sound this good! The display color choice is a neat feature. My wife knew the install was a success when she could hear Iron Maiden cranking from the driveway!

Pros: Sounds great, Affordable, Not too hard to install......with a little patience!

    Les from Huntsville on 7/14/2013

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Only had this for 4 days, but the User Interface is well above average. Like the ability to balance the volume settings between inputs. Multiple ways of jumping between folders is super. Remote is well thought out. It was easy to teach the wife how to use. She uses CD and I use USB and that way we don't fiddle with each others music. My last unit was a Kenwood 308U - same class, different User Interface. Just a few years ago, I would not have considered a JVC.

Pros: Easy to reach volume control and most switches without leaning forward. The 2010 Camry had the advance knob way on the right side. Rear Aux was a must because you can break off the connection when it sticks out the front only. Dash kit matched perfectly.

Cons: Black shows every finger print and dust or lint. I know, black is supposed to be the in/cool color and other options are just not out there in the right unit for the right price. There is no attenuation button like the 308U Kenwood.

This radio is an excellent replacement for the factory one in my Frontier "S" crew cab. Good value and reasonably easy install.

Cons: A little difficult to use as the one knob has many functions.

    1999 Oldsmobile Alero
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The deck is very nice and simple to use. it has a nice glossy color and a ton of options for the audio experts. it has both a USB and an AUX, so odds are, listening to the radio will not be a regular thing. the ONE THING that really put a bump in the road for me when buying, was the installation. I have a 99 Oldsmobile Alero Coupe, and Crutchfield said it would fit. when attempting installation in my Alero it did not. I had to break off big chunks of plastic in the back of the dash, and tuck the very big wiring harness it comes with to the side. the deck would not fit after all of that. so I had to take the receiver kit and rip the face plate off of it, and just keep the side panels on for screws. perfect fit. love my deck!

Pros: very easy to use and fairly cheap!

Cons: Didnt fit initially but I made it fit!

I did not have the time to install it myself, so I did take it to a professional installer in my neighborhood, and 90 minutes later, I have a new and better radio.

Pros: The sound is excellent. Although I am still using the stock speakers, there is a massive difference in sound quality. Everyone who has ridden in my car or has seen the radio has commented to me on how nice it looks.

Cons: The radio is not compatible with my phone for some reason when I plugged it into the USB port, but that's all right. The AUX jack works just fine, and that's why I bought the receiver in the first place.

    USB Folder Levels

LouM from Attleboro, MA on 6/26/2013

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've had this unit for a few months. It sounds nice with the factory speakers. It's easy to switch between all of the sources (CD / AM / FM / F-AUX / USB). The large display is bright and easy to see. The only complaint that I have is when using a USB flash drive with multiple artist folders and CDs within each artist folder, when scrolling through, this unit scrolls (Artist Name folder / every CD folder within that artist folder / Next Artist Name folder / every CD folder within that artist folder / and so on). If I have 50 Artist Name folders with 150 CD sub folders (total), I have to scroll through each individual folder to find the one I want. All other units that I have seen, scroll through the upper level folders (Artist Name) and when you find the Artist that you want, you press the enter button which brings you to the Sub Folder (CD Name). It's just a PITA scrolling back and forth try to find a certain CD. Is this the way that this unit works or am I doing something wrong? I called JVC and they "think" that's the way that it is. For anyone who has this unit, is that the way it works. Thanks for any info.

Pros: Good Sound, Easy to use, Large screen

Cons: USB Folder Levels (Artist Name / CD Title)

It varied color choices, as well as the varied sound "coloring" is phenominal. Love the JVC KW-R500, the USB port works well and loads quickly. Sound Quality is better than the Alpine I replaced. There is a lot of customization to adjust sound to your preference. I have a sub installed also and the control over it is great as well. Overall I am very happy with the unit and the price was reasonable also. I would recommend to anyone looking for a Double DIN receiver

Pros: USB loads fast, Sound Quality, Sub controls, EQ controls, Built in EQ curves are good, Looks Great and ability to select any color for buttons and display is fun.

Cons: User Manual does not explain "Pro EQ" in detail, Would be nice if you could create shortcut buttons to settings that are regularly adjusted.

I had the Crutchfield team do the install, so I can only comment on the units operation. I was able to figure out most of the functions w/o the manual, so it is easy to operate. The only problem I had was somehow I put it on demo mode & it kept changing color, which took me a day to figure out! Decent sound with the stock 6 speaker system.

Pros: This is exactly what I was looking for and at this price, I'm pretty happy with the unit & features. As for the install, the work was quick & professionally completed.

Cons: The only problem is it doesn't work on my interior dimmer switch or dim w/headlights. I just put it on the unit's dim setting & chose a color that didn't distract me.

    2000 Toyota Camry Solara
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this unit to replace the factory radio and it sounds great. Plenty of internal power (20 watts RMS x 4) and a good ipod interface. CD playback ( yes there are some of us that still play CD's- ha ha ) is also great. However, to adjust the tone and display functions, the controls themselves are buried in a menu that you should really use while parked. The Pro EQ function used for tone adjustment though is quite good- instead of simple bass, mid, and treble settings you can adjust by different frequencies ( 60 Hz, 80 Hz, 17.5 Hz and so on). It also allows for different color settings among the display and buttons or you can let the unit change the colors at random- definitely a cool feature. Having installed this unit in a Toyota Camry Solara, it fills up the Double DIN opening just fine; it sticks out just slightly from the front as opposed to the original factory radio but otherwise looks OK. Overall, this unit is highly recommended if you're looking for a Double-DIN unit. The Crutchfield installation instructions were clear- especially the wiring diagram that came with the supplied Crutchfield wiring harness. It made connecting all of the speaker wires and power leads much easier. As an upgrade to a better receiver (especially a factory unit) the KW-R500 just may be hard to beat.

Pros: Internal power, great ipod interface and CD playback, customization features, good tone adjustments through JVC's Pro EQ

Cons: Sometimes difficult to navigate control menu; referring to the owner's manual to understand the KW-R500's functions is a must on occasion. The supplied remote control is kind of small; easy to lose in the car here and there.

Cons: None, my daughter is 100% happy with it.

I don't have any high end to compare to, but for the price I am extremely pleased. Does exactly what I need it to do. I stuck it in a 03 Toyota Tundra. I didn't realize how bad my factory was until I put this in. I did pay a little more from crutchfield then other on line sites, but the "extras" and having Crutchfields awesome support to hold my hand more then made up for it. My only regret is that I spent a couple of hours trying to figure it something out and Crutchfield support put me back on track in a matter of seconds. Look forward to upgrading speakers and won't hesitate to call support next time.

Pros: If all you have is a factory model...this thing is great. Give you a little bit of cool factory for not a lot of money.

Cons: I'm an idiot for wasting my time when Crutchfields support was ready to help.

    Exactly What I Needed

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The base radio/single CD player in my 2007 Nissan Frontier NISMO does not have an aux input or any provision for easily adding one. Since I really enjoy music from my iPod I tried using an FM transmitter - the music was there but the sound quality was terrible. After investigating options for improved sound quality I finally concluded that, between a new head unit and an FM modulator, it was probably just as much trouble, and not too much more expensive, to just go ahead and upgrade the radio. After carefully reading all of the Crutchfield reviews on several different units I settled on this one. It's a very nice basic unit for what I need, it sounds great (much better than the old one) even with the factory speakers, and the install (my first one) went fine ( although I took it slow) with the help of some YouTube videos and Crutchfield tech support (excellent). Unlike some other reviewers I have not found the menu difficult to use for setting the many audio and display options, but I do agree that, even on the brightest level, the display is hard to read in bright sunlight. It fits the truck perfectly, although I had to figure out a way to use the trim ring that came with the radio - the "free" Nissan in-dash receiver kit that Crutchfield sent was useless. All-in-all, a great unit and I'm very satisfied. Crutchfield tech support was a great help with several mounting and wiring questions.

Pros: Good looking and very nice quality unit, great fit and great tech support from Crutchfield.

Cons: Display hard to read in bright daylight.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall this is a very solid HU. Crutchfield did a bang up job of assisting with the install. I would have given this unit 5 stars but sometimes the unit switches the source(for example I listen to to music via the USB input and the unit sometimes switches to FM or AUX), its only happened during the winter and it more pesky and bothersome than anything. Replicating the exact sound you want it somewhat a cumbersome task, the preset eq options are sufficent. Overall it has good quality and it wont break the bank.

    Pros: Very Stylish

Cons: HU has changed its source on me without input, it has only happened during the winter.

installed in a 2000 Toyota Tacoma. goes right in with factory side brackets. does stick out an inch from original double din radio. But no trimming required. I did not use the blu-tooth adapter sold separately. Sound quality is excellent. Also has midrange settings, Crutchfield hooked me up with free wiring harness adapter, colors were a straight match. The dimmer setting go low enuf to not be distracting during night driving. Power to speakers is greatly improved over stock radio. Very little distortion at higher end. For the price, you cant beat it.

Pros: straight swap over stock radio. Takes a little work to get to bass/mid/treble settings. Dimmer goes low enuf. most new unit don't.

Cons: Huge shiny chrome knob on otherwise characterless face. Possible personal preference

The unit was pretty easy to install on my 06 Xterra. I tried out the install kit for the car, but I liked the look without the kit. I'm used to an extremely simple stereo, so it took a day or so to play around with and get comfortable. Now that I "get it", I really like the interface with the iPod. It's fairly intuitive after playing around without looking at the directions. The color choice are nice because I was looking for a head unit to match the Xterra's orange interior glow.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got this head unit when my mom passed down her 2001 ford escape after she bought a 2009 nissan rouge. I wanted to buy a new stereo with the option to play my ipod or my android phone, because my 2 mix CDs were getting boring. I did my research and found that this would be suitable for my small amount of needs. I read that if I install the new radio I would have to cut some of the existing plastic around the hole where the old one sat, which means the old one would not be able to be reinstalled. What they didn't tell me, which isn't a big deal at all, is that once the new head unit is in, the only way to take it out is to remove the dash, so i made sure everything worked before pushing it in. I also like the day/night lighting option, so when i turn the car's lights on, the head unit automatically dims to my preferred night driving brightness. Overall, for the price, it is a great head unit and i use a sound enhancing app on my ipod and I could still control the app through the stereo buttons, so i was pleasantly surprised.

Pros: Great sound, not bad on the price, headlight activated brightness settings

Cons: The mess of removing plastic from old head unit to make way for this one, and the inability to take it out without removing the entire dash

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased as a gift for my girlfriend & her 2004 Ford Focus. She's not much of a radio station listener and had also been using those small transmitter devices, with horrible results, in order to listen to iPod thru the OEM radio. I purchased this receiver based the following features: known JVC quality, positive reviews, USB/AUX inputs, Pandora radio interface, power output, future expandability, display color options. The design aesthetics of the JVC fit very well with the other components of the dash. Sound quality, as a receiver, is slightly better than OEM radio. Not surprising as still using OEM speakers. Sound quality when using front USB/AUX ports or CD is phenomenally crisp & clear. She's pleased with the pre-set EQ functions. A more musically tuned ear will be pleased with the ability to fine tune a "User EQ" function. Read reviews that mentioned this receiver was devoid of a dimming function. That is NOT true. The brightness setting and all other settings, functions & options are simple to access via the intuitive menu function. The set-up is much like a computer menu: click on a folder to access additional folders/sub-folders, rotate the dial to alter the function, push the "back" button to return to previous folder. Overall this is a fantastic radio for the value. The functionality compared to price is tremendous. Simplicity of use makes it a breeze to operate. This receiver is loaded with features that should please all but the most serious audiophile.

Pros: Sound quality/power output vs. the price value, ease of use, intuitive controls, USB port, design aesthetics, button layout, expandability, made a great gift for very happy girlfriend.

Cons: Depending on color hue and brightness selected for "nighttime" illumination the display may be difficult to see when headlights are turned on during daytime rain showers. Won't bring the Space Shuttle out of retirement.

    2005 Toyota RAV4
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My wife has been complaining about not having an aux port for a while and I decided to get her a JVC KW-R500 for her 2005 Toyota Rav4. I also purchased the Metra Axxess ASWC and Metra 70-8114 Steering Wheel Control Harness to keep her steering wheel controls working. The JVC KW-R500 definitely gave her the aux port she wanted, but also a USB port for iPod and iPhone, and Bluetooth if she wants it. I was a little bit concerned that the Axxess ASWC would take up the rear aux port and thus eliminating the only way to use Bluetooth, but that was not the case. The ASWC has a special female aux plug that wires into JVC harnesses through a Blue/Yellow wire. I was very happy with that and can now add Bluetooth using the rear aux port of the radio. The sound using an ipod and USB is amazing and may be a bit better than the front aux port, but I thought both sounded great. The controls are easy to use. I was very impressed with the color and brightness adjustments. I matched her original dash lights exactly and dimmed to a nice glow. It fits right into the OEM style.

Pros: Sound, ease of use, and customization of color and brightness

Cons: I have an older 60GB iPod Classic (5th gen?) that will not allow "iPod Mode" when plugged into the USB. It only allows "Head Mode", which means all control and display is done through the unit. It's really not a big deal since I can either plug into the aux port if I want to use the iPod controls. I have a new 160GB iPod that allows the choice between Head Mode, iPod Mode, Ext Mode. This issue is in compatibility list or Apple devices.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I received this unit yesterday, and had it installed within an hour or so of its arrival (it arrived a day earlier than expected, thanks UPS and Crutchfield.) The unit itself is great, it has pandora/iphone support, and they're pretty easy to use (plug the iphone into usb port, click pandora. listen to music.) The installation instructions provided by Crutchfield made the install tremendously easier than I'm use to in the past. The pictures and steps made it very easy to follow, even if you're not mechanically inclined. Fit my 04 Subaru Outback like a glove, with factory mounting hardware (used none that came with new unit)

Pros: Pandora/iPhone support is a very nice feature. I have a "MiFi" 4G hotspot, so it works great with my old iPhone that doesn't have service any longer, as long as there is 4G around anyway... pretty good alternative to satellite radio, since I already own the technology it takes to make it happen, and don't pay any extra. Back to this radio though, I like it, it's very easy to operate. I never bothered looking at the instructions, and I could even figure out how to set the time. wow...

    Cons: None yet,

    Just ok

The aux sounds terrible on this unit, I have had issues with it reading the Ipod usb. Installation was some what easy. Visually it is nice. using the menu isn't as easy as you would think takes a bit to get used to how you adjust it. Setting the clock is easy. I don't use the remote too small and can get lost easy.

Pros: sounds good via stereo and pandora

Cons: takes long sometimes to read ipod connection. Aux sound isn't the greatest

Originally I was going to stay under $100 for a CD Receiver, but I'm so glad I sprung the extra $50+ - well worth it! I ugraded the factory speakers in my Frontier a couple years ago, which made the factory head unit sound much better [lower bass and very crisp highs] however, this JVC has more power than the factory radio, and coupled with a kicker 200 watt rms amp and 12" sub, I can lower the bass on my other speakers, allowing me to drive them at a level even higher than I listen to normally, without distortion. The JVC fit in my dash, looks great, and sounds great -- don't be afraid to get it.

Pros: Two RCA outs & two 3.5mm inputs; upgraded clean power with keeping factory wiring to speakers; adjustable cool display; many adjustment features; easy to install; wiring harness wires matched colors.

This a great upgrade for my 2004 Silverado OEM stereo. It fits without any modification and cutting to the truck. the sound quality is great, even through my old speakers. It hasd brought new life to them. The main reason I bought it was for the USB input, which I love. The menus can be a little complicad to get through. I got this unit to fill a double din space in my Subaru. I mostly wanted a front Aux input, but knew I would also get a stronger/cleaner amp section. The install was easy using the instructions and just looking things over. It took a bit for me to figure out that I needed to remove all the brackets from the new unit and then the factory bracket would fit. The wiring harness was not plug and play but all the wires were color-to-color. This unit definitely woke my factory speakers up a bit but nothing life changing. Just a little more dynamics, a little more treble extension. All and all I'm happy with the unit for the price.

I have been ordering things from Crutchfield for the past 20-years. They have always provided me with very good customer service and their packaging is always gorilla proof. For 150 bucks this cd player does more than what I need it to do. The buttons are large squared style buttons are as close as a match to my Tiburons factory buttons as you can get. Once you get all your settings set it's very easy to use. The sound quality has greatly improved...even with the factory speakers. The free wiring harness Crutchfield supplied made wiring a piece of cake.

Pros: Factory like buttons. Ability to change colors to match your dash. Great sound quality and ease of use.

Cons: This has nothing to do with Crutchfield nor the cd player itself but the Metra installation kit is the cheapest most flimsy kit I`ve ever seen. I had to modify the paper thin brackets supplied by the Metra kit to make the cd player fit in my Tiburon's dash.

When I listen to MP3s on a USB memory stick, it sounds great. My car's dash color is RED (not sure why). So when I matched it, it was quite annoying. Because it has this BIG SQUARE source button that turns RED too. Simply, it's annoying because it's red.

Pros: Price, Looks, Features, Changeable Colors, USB and AUX ports in front.

    Cons: FM Tuner, RED color

    Very nice unit.

Pros: Looks great. Perfect fit in 2005 Yukon. USB input

Cons: Not very clear wiring connection diagrams. Had to guess on a couple of wires that luckily was a good guess. While ordering was informed I needed an additional device to maintain Onstar which I bought which added to the wiring complication. Was not told i needed an additional device to keep the steering wheel controls. If I had been told at the time It would have saved me money as opposed to buying it after the fact.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very satisfied with unit, features, and construction quality. Menu options are good and fairly easy with just a little practice. Even with the OEM speakers, sound quality improved dramatically. Not long after installing receiver, added new front/rear speakers (Kicker KS68 in front and JBL GT6-69 in rear) and the sound is superb. My only less-than-glowing remark is not with the unit itself, but with the Metra install kit that came with it. Kit fits well, but just seems a little flimsy...specifically the way the side-brackets attach to the face plate.

Pros: Great unit for those looking for a substantial upgrade over OEM. Nice features, installation was straight forward and fairly easy. The Metra install kit (at least for Mazda applications) could have been a little better designed, but all worked out well.

    Cons: None

The color selection feature is nice, but not really neccessary. The features of this unit are on the upper end, with a pro equilizer that allows you to adjust the "Q" factor. The operation of the unit is like many hand held song machines with menu after menu of features to adjust. The loudness control is in te middle of the menu list, so turning te loudness on or off is not simple.

Pros: Very easy to use. Once you figure out the on-screen prompts, it all becomes very intiutive.

Cons: Would like to have the unit recognize the play mode by itself rather than having to switch around. No manual tuning feature. After two calls install went okay. Directions could have been more clear. Could have directed user to remove ALL of the mounting hardware attached to the unit before trying to insert unit into the vehicle specific mount.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I never knew the stock Corolla CE speakers (2005 year) could sound so good. Solid bass. I will preface that by mentioning I'd already installed outboard tweeters on the side mirror attachment points so it wasn't "just" the stock in door and rear deck speakers. The EQ setting allow for fine tuning as does the Loudness contour. Infinitely variable color display by area on the front display, along with a day/night dimmer make this easy to find a good setting. Note- if you want to use the USB stick option it will only read MP3/WMA, no WAV or FLAC files. On the tuner section it is scan/seek with no manual tuning available so if you're looking for a weak signal you won't be able to tune to it.

    Pros: Great sound, USB reader.

    Cons: No manual tuning.

Was a great upgrade to OEM cd changer after it died. Like everything about it except install was on difficult side as instructions were not as clear as they could have been and multiple calls to Crutchfield were required. In the end very satisfied but after a few weeks still trying to figure out if it has an ON/OFF CONTROL. DUH!!! But have not been able to find one e en with instruction manual.

Pros: Great sound compared to OEM rcvr/cd player. Much more clarity and definition. Exactly what I was looking for with my iPOD.

Cons: Install with steering wheel controls was not the easiest but overcomable with enough time. Subwoofer and OEM amplifier required a radio shack 12v to 5v regulator which was another install headache but overcomable with time and patience

Easy to get what fit, great price, easy install, easy setup, great result! I love this head unit. I never expected such a jump in sound quality out of my factory speakers! However the front door speakers are starting to blow....guess I have a little too much bass pounding through them:D The color feature is awesome. Love how you can set a day and night color. EQ is great and easy to use. Love that I can change the amp gain to keep from blowing my speakers instantly:) Great great great product extremely satisfied! Crutchfield you have a customer for life, and you will be getting another order soon for all new speakers.

Pros: Colors Sound Quality Ease of Use Price Features EQ iPod Feature

Cons: Night color..... setting even with the color set to a dark color with the brightness the whole way down, it is still extremely bright and distracting at night on trips on roads with no light whatsoever.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have had this unit in my daily commuter for a couple of weeks now. I was coming from a stock stereo that ate one of my cd's and wouldn't give it back. I immediately noticed the improved sound. Setup was a little time consuming but it should be so you can make it sound and look right. Then came the magical moment when I plugged in my Ipod. Full bodied digital sound even with stock speakers and sub and the convenience of all my music right there: best commute drive in a long time. Best part is the control of the ipod is quick and easy to get used to which means less distractions more music time. Only advice would be to go with the jvc that already has the bluetooth adapter installed. Also, RDS would have been a nice feature but who cares, I have my ipod now. I was a little worried that the stock speakers would be overpowered and distort because this puts out higher wattage than the stock radio, but once again, not an issue. The display with the different color options is also great. I have the color and brightness dialed in so at night the whole dash looks like it was ment to go with the stereo. Hands down worth the money spent on it.

Pros: Very adjustable EQ. Was able to dial in the sound to match my cars stock component and sub speaker combo and make them sound their best. Pretty self explanatory features and settings.

Cons: I will admit setting the radio presets (all 18) was a little tricky and I already forgot how to reset them.

Pros: Price, easy install, 29 different colors that can be applied to different parts of the display for a multi-colored display, JVC brand

Cons: The unit comes with a Metra 95-5812 mounting bracket. First off, the bracket is plastic. Secondly, it doesn't fit the receiver. If your vehicle's factory radio comes with a metal bracket that can be taken off then I would recommend that. The bracket will fit, but is excessively tight, and I had to remove the secondary outer metal brace / bracket type deal..

2003 Thunderbird: Deck sounds great and was easy to install with Crutchfield's wiring adapter and install kit. Replaced a factory 6 disc changer that had a bad left channel. Local stereo shops all wanted to sell me a $900+ unit with DVD and Navigation so I got on to Crutchfield's site and found this deck. Huge improvement in sound even with the factory speakers. Bought the Axxess adapter and my steering wheel controls work great with this deck. Has all the features I need and more.

Installed this head in my wife's 2006 Avalanche w/o Bose system. Stock speakers were blown when we bought the truck so also installed 4 low end Kenwood speakers from Crutchfield. Changed out as complete system so I can't critique the sound quality to the stock radio. Wife not into hi-fi and just wanted to have music on her daily work drive. This unit could use an amp, sub, and maybe an adjustable loudness setting, but still sounds fine for what she needed. She wanted another multi-disk player like her previous vehicle had but I talked her into the usb alternative with a high memory jump drive. This is my third car stereo purchase through Crutchfield and like the others, the install was very simple with all of the harness and bracket accessories provided. There was an unmentioned screw under the arm rest I found while trying to remove the front door panel, and one red wire for the steering wheel control unit not mentioned in the instructions but a quick call to Crutchfield cleared that up.

Pros: USB on the face for IPOD and flash drive memory stick. Separate custom color adjustments for both display and buttons. Push dial for both muting on radio and pause on usb/cd. Excellent unit for the price!

Cons: As mentioned before, the menu system would be easier to use if you didn't have to exit each time a change is made only to start over again. The clock should stay on while the unit is off but I have not found a setting for this.

Went with the GM harness to keep the door chime in my Colorado. It made the install easier. Had installed some Fosgate 2way speakers in the doors, some cheap 3ways in the back and with the factory unit there was more separation but it sounded too thin. This JVC unit brought the sound quality way up. I can understand why some might not see the need for a sub. Loved being able to hear more. The colors are nice and the menu is not too complicated. Was not able to use the faceplate, but the unit fits perfectly in the opening and the mounting kit hides the rest behind the opening in the dash. Looks sharp. Went ahead and installed a 10" Kicker comp with 450w amp. Cool that I don't need to turn the amp on or off and can control the level with the JVC KW-R500. And after it dawned on me to turn on the high pass filter it sounds even better with a sub than without. Plan on baffles and some matting for the front and rear doors. The sheet metal is thin and pretty flat. After that I should be able to hear the slightest nuances. Overall a great product with some cool features for a little cash.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This receiver is pretty good for the price. I had little trouble fitting it into my Buick Century. The sound quality is at least as good as the factory receiver, which is good enough for me. Some features are easy to use, while others are not that intuitive. For instance: there are 18 presets for FM stations, but only buttons dedicated to the first 6. The user has to navigate the menu system to get to station presets higher than 6. This takes the user's eyes off the road longer than just hitting a preset button. I tried putting all my music on a flash drive to use the USB functionality. It doesn't seem to want to navigate well beyond one folder level. This makes it hard to organize the music. I still haven't figured out the best arrangement. Overall I am pleased with the purchase, but I wish JVC had put more thought into the USB functionality.

Pros: Hi degree of button and display color adjustment to match vehicle interior. Good sound quality that is very adjustable. Large buttons.

Cons: USB functionality is wanting. When unit is turned off at night, no buttons are illuminated, making it hard to see to turn back on. Dimmer circuit does not seem to work.

This was for a 2000 Camry to replace an OEM double-din stereo. The cabling part of the install was a breeze thanks to the custom harness provided by Crutchield, just match the colors and no need to read any instructions. The install was a bit weird because I didn't realize that this stereo has two separate metal "sleeves" on it that obscure the holes needed for the car's mounting bracket to be installed. once I figured that out and removed the sleeves, everything installed quickly. You'll notice that I gave it 4 stars on coolness (because I think there are others that look nices) and Sound Quality (better than OEM but obviously not the best available). Overall great value.

Very happy with the purchase. Purchased and Installed in my wife's car (2001 Toyota Solara). She's happy with it. It was time to get rid of the factory CD/Tape player. Every CD would skip and who plays tapes anymore. She loves the AUX input. She can hook up her phone and play music or listen to Pandora. CD player works as expected. Easy to install with the help of the provided (free) Installation Master Sheet and provided (free) wire harness.

Pros: Thanks to the Crutchfield rep (Clarence) for finding and providing the wire harness that allowed me to install this CD player and still use the factory amplifier which still works and sounds great. Thanks Clarence. CD player works as expected. Love the double DIN fit. Looks greats. Great CD player for the price. Great features. Love the front AUX input. Can't forget about the free Installation sheets and wire harness. Couldn't have got it done without them.

Cons: Everything was great. Product and Installation. Only thing I can think of is that I did have to call and asked a couple of questions about the installation. A couple of the wire harness wires were a little confusing, but the assistant would answered my questions explained everything and the installation went smooth. Also, some of the features of the CD player are a little hard to get to. Reading the manual helps and spending some time playing with it helps. Other than that, no problems.

    2003 Ford Mustang
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I say Mustang owners beware because I installed this in my daughter's 2003 Mustang with a fair amount of difficulty. I had to completely disassemble the housing for the radio, which is fine, but there's one critical problem with this unit and fitment into a '99-'04 Mustang... There's no mount location for a rear support. The '99-'04 has a brace beneath the stereo that a rear support mounts to for holding the unit at its specified height and angle. The factory radio has the bracket, and the kit that Crutchfield sends includes it as well. The problem is that the stereo doesn't have anywhere on the rear to mount the bracket to. I had to fabricate a support "shelf" underneath so it would sit at the right height. That was a challenge. Besides the installation challenges for my particular car, the stereo is great! My daughter loves it anyway!

Pros: Fits a double-din stock stereo slot perfectly and looks great in the dash. iPod/iPhone controls are nice. Charges iPod/iPhone. Color changing effects are cool if you like that sort of thing.

Cons: A bit of a challenging install - If you own a '99-'04 Mustang, run for cover or get handy!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Love the fact I can hook my iPod or my iPad to this stereo. I wanted something cool but not to fancy to fit into my 2003 silverado. I wanted it to fill the double din so I wouldn't have the stupid little tray that would come with a single din install. The controls were a little confusing at first, setting the color I wanted and getting my settings for my sub where a little tricky at first, but I finally found where you could do a complete custom color for the display. I love the fact this controls my iPad from the stereo itself, have you ever tried to control the music on an iPad driving down the road? It also charges both my iPad and my nano. It doesn't have a bunch of flashy features, but it does everything I needed it to do and more.

Pros: Looks great in dash. Controls for iPod. Remote. Controls for pandora

Cons: Have to hold menu button to get to real menu.

    1999 Toyota Camry LE
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Pretty good head unit for low price, double-din class wise. Replaced my 99 Toyota Camry LE's factory CD unit with this one. It's sticking out a bit, but not a issue and I was really surprised how light this unit is compare to Camry factory unit. No problem with installation due to Crutchfield's installation guild & wire harness. I have been using this unit for 2~3 months now and it's a pretty good sound wise, but some minor things are making this a bit lesser unit. Most annoying thing is Audio Source selection - there is this white button you press and cycle around to get to your audio and it's pretty annoying. Coming from CD/Radio/Tape - 3 button unit to 1 button unit is not convenience to me, and there is enough space for more audio source buttons, like CD AM/FM USB/iPhone something like that. And there is this volume level difference between USB and other audio source. When you play mp3 files on USB, it's volume is pretty high. I usually set vol 12 for USB while driving but for Radio/CD, I have to increase to vol18 for same level of sound. If you are looking for some cheap & good sound with good gadgety feeling unit, this might satisfy you. However, I wouldn't really recommend this unit to others unless they wanna try iPhone control which I don't use.

Pros: Good Sound Quality, flashing color LEDs

Cons: Display is big so it's easy to read but it's single line...multi-line or one with small color display could have been better - for mp3 files it can get dusty... better bring your glass wipe. Remote controller? why? navigation buttons and vol control button doing same thing number button 3 is off centered but seems working fine

This stereo is great! Exactly what I was looking for, for a great price! All I really wanted was a stereo that I can plug in my iPhone into and can easily manage my playlists from the stereo. I also like that it displays info on songs and radio stations if you use the app Tunein Radio.

Pros: Easy to navigate and work. Makes your speakers sound way better and lots of options for customization.

Cons: The front faceplate adapter did not fit over it, but it fit perfectly in my 2005 Chevy Colorado w/o it, I although I had to use tape to tape side-mounting brackets to the stereo since the screws provided did not fit and then use the factory screws to mount it.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall great head unit and easy to install. Nice features without being too overloaded. Sound quality is great when compared to the old factory system I had. CD and USB / iPod support. Multi-media support as well as a wide range of file types played. Navigating menus takes a bit to get used to but is not bad once learned. The unit's wire harness that was included matched and was easy to install with the one Crutchfield included.

Pros: The price (I did check Walmart and noticed a JVC unit that looked the exact same, was more money, and was an older model) and the free shipping : ) 18 channel memory for radio stations / USB port / iPod support. Color change display! ( I had a the original Gameboy look going on with the factory set) // Remote control // No difficult buttons on the face to figure out what they are used for (kept it plain and simple).

Cons: None for the head unit. As for Crutchfield and matching products with vehicles... installation kit did not fit 1998 Honda Accord EX and was completely worthless in quality (Metra). This unit was a very tight fit. OEM faceplate edging had to be trimmed and ended up using the factory brackets to complete the install. I know it's hard to match products with vehicles, but it would be nice if these "fits" are actually tested instead of assumed.

    Nice Head unit!

Sound quality was great, This unit will do just about anything. I was thinking of adding a powered sub, but no need . It doesnt rattle the windows, but nice bottom end. If I want to rattle my windows, I can just hop in the car. Plenty of sound options with the pro equalizer. Im very satisified with this stereo, would buy again. Installed in a 2002 Ford Escape. Huge improvement in sound quality! Well worth the money. Be prepared for substantial modifications to dash if installing in similar vehicle.

Pros: Great sound, much more punch and crisp sound vs. OEM system. I thought I would also add new speakers but I am holding off for now due to the significant sound improvement. I also like that I can use the system with my MP3 player and thumb drives. Helpful tech support. As usual, Crutchfiled was a pleasure to deal with.

Cons: The install was difficult. I had to cut away more than the sub frame to get the receiver to fit. I had to remove a slice of the outside dash which the instructions do not show. It is not a perfect fit but I'll get used to it.

Cons: Don't like returning to menu every time to start into another setup area, maybe there is a way around it. Replaced my stock radio in my 2005 Scion XB. My first stereo install went pretty smoothly. There were some instructions that really threw me off. After beating my head against the dash, I realized they were instructions for a single din installation and I could ignore them. Installed the mounting hardware directly to the stereo and it fit perfectly though I had to remove the metal sleeve after I was almost finished. I couldn't put my panels back together with it on and the outer faceplate that attached to the sleeve wasn't going to fit anyway. Now for the radio. I don't know what I was expecting but I didn't notice a significant upgrade in sound. Might be that I basically drive a box that doesn't have the best acoustics. I tried the auxiliary ports and the ipod controls and they both work fine. For the price I paid, I appreciated the added features and the fact that I can match my cars display colors is a bonus.

This is an attractive, basic head unit. It has decent volume, a large knob and buttons, and the display is easy to read in daylight. Most importantly, for me, it has an auxiliary input and a USB connection on the front. My only complaints are that the unit is somewhat gimmicky. The sleek looks hide the difficulty of making basic audio adjustments - which are limited. Any adjustments you can make are buried deep in a menu. Furthermore, many of the settings are for flashy tweaks - such as to the display lighting. I would have preferred a knurled volume knob, more easily accessible tone controls and built in bluetooth. Even so, I have no serious complaints and it was a good value for the price. I am satisfied with this purchase.

I purchased JVC KW-R500 unit to replace my stock radio on a 2008 Nissan Frontier SE crew-cab. I can't begin to tell you this unit is everything & more that I needed in a unit. The factory speakers that came stock on my Nissan Frontier sound even better then before. Great punch with a lot more bass. The EQ selection on the new unit has several setting to choice from. I'm using my iPhone 4 with this radio. It displays the artist, songs, and you can control everything from the head unit. Pandora also works great. The iPhone recognized "Pandora by JVC" on the phone display. The installation was right on. I used the radio brackets from the factory radio. The install kit wasn't need except for the face trim plate that attached to center dash cover. The factory radio bracket holes needed to be filed a little bit to align properly, but no big deal. (Very Easy). The wiring harness matched perfectly right down to the color coded wires. For the price , this unit is a great value. I'm still debating if I want to add a subwoofer/amp because the sound is really great. You won't be disappointed with JVC KW-R500. Last but not least, matching the color display to my dash lights is right on. You also have the option to have two different display, one for the controls and the other for the display screen.

Pros: Great features for the price. Easy controls.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this because it met my needs. I wanted a unit that could power my aftermarket speakers as well as a sub-out. I am pleased with its performance and ease of use. I am very satisfied with the price, considering it does what many of the other units do for hundreds less. The only limiting factor I can think of is the lack of display. It does include track title/artist/time/clock etc. with the iPod usb cord but it could have just a bit more flash to the screen when playing a music. The color-changing feature is fun for 30 seconds but unless you are a 16 year old girl with a '92 Honda it gets old pretty quick. I did manage to adjust the colors on mine to accurately mimic the colors of the rest of my dash so it blends in with the car very well. Again, couldn't be more pleased with the basic functionality of the deck. Not to mention Crutchfield, as always, shipped to me on time and with no problems. Can't say enough nice things about that company and their products/services.

Pros: simple to use, effectively replaces factory double-din unit, VERY affordable way to upgrade sound quality and dash cosmetics

Cons: A little drab in terms of display, but not enough to deter me from reccomending this unit to other potential buyers.

    Radio Functions

AM/FM Tuner: The JVC KW-R500 features a built-in AM/FM tuner with manual, seek, and preset tuning.

Preset Tuning: You can store a total of 18 FM stations presets and 6 AM station presets. The radio allows you to set your AM/FM stations manually or automatically.

Radio Timer: You can tune into a preset station at a specific time regardless of the head unit's current source. You can activate the Radio Timer once, daily, or turn it completely off.

IF Filter: You can also switch the tuner's IF filter to Wide or Auto to increase/decrease the sensitivity.

Mono: If an analog FM stereo broadcast is hard to receive, you can manually switch the tuner to Mono operation.

US/European Tuning: You can set the built-in AM/FM tuner between US standard and European tuning spacing.

    Audio Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The JVC KW-R500 utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior CD sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The KW-R500 is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit.

CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the KW-R500 are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the KW-R500 are as follows:

    • CEA2006 Specs: 20 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels (200 total watts)

Amplifier Gain Control: When you are using the KW-R500 with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to "low," the volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 30 (maximum). When using speakers rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to "high," and the volume control will range from 0 to 50.

Volume Adjust: The input level of each source (other than FM) is adjustable relative to the FM radio volume, so there isn't a significant volume difference when changing sources. Each source is individually adjustable from -5 to +5.

Pro EQ: The KW-R500 is equipped with JVC's Pro EQ. The integrated equalizer offers 7 preset sound modes (Flat, Natural, Dynamic, Vocal Boost, Bass Boost, User) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The User mode allows you to manually adjust the head unit's 3-band parametric EQ (Frequency, Level, and Q-Factor).

    Pro EQ
    Frequency Level Q
    Bass 60, 80, 100, 200 Hz +/- 12 dB (-6 to +6) 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 2.0
    Midrange 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.5 kHz +/- 12 dB (-6 to +6) 0.75, 1.0, 1.25
    Treble 10.0, 12.5, 15.0, 17.5 khz +/- 12 dB (-6 to +6) Fixed

Source Link EQ: This feature allows you to store Pro EQ bass, middle and treble tone settings for each source (CD, AM/FM, Aux, USB, iPod, and Pandora).

Loud (Loudness): This feature boosts low and high frequencies to produce a well-balanced sound at a low volume level. You can turn this feature on or off.

2.5V/4CH Preamp Output: The KW-R500 is equipped with two pair of 2.5V preamp outputs (Front, Rear/SW). You can set the Rear/SW preamp outputs for connecting a pair of full-range rear speakers (through an external amplifier) or for connecting a subwoofer (through an external amplifier). When set for rear speakers, the rear outputs operate with the unit's fader control. When set for subwoofer, the outputs are non-fading.

Subwoofer Controls: When the unit's Rear/SW preamp output is set to Subwoofer, you can adjust the head unit's subwoofer level between 0 and 8 (separate from the main volume level). You can also adjust the low-pass filter and activate a high-pass filter.

    • Low-Pass Filter: When the unit's Rear/SW preamp output is set to Subwoofer, you can set the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter at 55Hz, 85Hz, or 120Hz.
    • High-Pass Filter: When the unit's Rear/SW preamp output is set to Subwoofer, you can also activate a high-pass filter (fixed at low-pass filter frequency) for the unit's front & rear channels (speaker- or preamp-level), so low frequency signals are cut off from your system's front & rear speakers.

Key-Touch Tone: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

    Display Features

Variable Color LCD & Key Illumination: The JVC KW-R500 features 29 color presets for the LCD and button illumination. You can choose one of these color presets or select the ColorFlow mode which scrolls through all 29 color presets. Additionally, there is a User preset, allowing you to individually adjust the intensity of Red, Green, and Blue from 0 to 31; resulting in approximately 30,000 custom color options. The chosen color preset or custom color can be applied to the display panel and the backlighting for all the buttons except the eject and display buttons (they remains red). You can choose to use the same color for the LCD display and button illumination, or use a separate color for each one. You can also select a different color for daytime and nighttime in regards to the unit's LCD and button illumination.

Brightness: The unit offers an adjustable display and button illumination brightness level (0-31) for day and nighttime driving.

Display/Button Illumination Dimmer: The display/button illumination dimmer can be set to Off (normal brightness at all times), On (display/button illumination is always dimmed), or Auto (display dims when 12-volts is applied to the orange/white illumination lead).

2-DIN Chassis: The JVC KW-R500 has a 2-DIN chassis (also known as Double DIN), and will fit in many vehicles with a large dash opening. The unit can be ISO-mounted using factory brackets, or Euro-mounted using the supplied mounting sleeve. As always, please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to verify fit with your vehicle.

    Bluetooth/Remote Control

Optional Bluetooth: The unit's rear-panel auxiliary input can also be used to connect JVC's KS-BTA100 Bluetooth Adapter (105KSBTA10, sold separately). The KS-BTA100 must be plugged into the rear-panel auxiliary input, and not the front-panel auxiliary input. The front-panel auxiliary input does not support Bluetooth. The KS-BTA100 gives you hands-free communication from your compatible Bluetooth mobile phone and wireless streaming audio from a Bluetooth enabled digital audio player. The optional JVC Bluetooth Adapter includes a super-sensitive microphone, an Answer/End button, and playback controls. The KW-R500 can be set to automatically mute any music audio to your vehicle's speakers so you can listen to your telephone call using your car speakers.

Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the JVC KW-R500. Visit the JVC Mobile Entertainment Bluetooth Support Page for a complete list of compatible Bluetooth enabled devices.

Wireless Remote Control: The KW-R500 comes supplied with a wireless remote control (RM-RK52). The remote contains Attenuator, Sound, Source, Tracking, and Volume functions. The remote operates off of a single CR2025 3V Lithium-cell battery (included).

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input wire (blue/yellow) within the included wiring harness that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to see if your vehicle is compatible.
