An entertainment powerhouse

Choose a source, choose a display color, choose an app — the JVC KW-R910BT gives you all the entertainment options you expect, and more. The symmetrical design looks terrific, while a host of connectivity features make this CD receiver an outstanding travel companion.

With built-in Bluetooth® and a variety of inputs, the KW-R910BT lets you access your digital media in a variety of ways. Play music from your iPhone®, Android™ or music player, or choose from JVC's ever-growing list of compatible apps. You can also plug a thumb drive into the front USB port, hook up your MP3 player to the front AUX input, or pop in a CD.

Awesome with your iPhone®

Once you plug your iPod or iPhone into the USB input, you can use the KW-R910BT's oversized knob and buttons to navigate your entire music library. With your iPhone connected, you can play your Pandora® Internet Radio stations through the receiver, and even skip and rate songs like you do online. The powerful USB port will keep your smartphone charged, even when it's doing several tasks at once.

Of course, you don't have to plug in at all if your iPhone is equipped with Siri® Eyes Free functionality. Just link up and enjoy hands-free control.

This sophisticated receiver also lets you pair two phones at once, so there's no need to choose between your personal and business phones. When a call comes in, the receiver will blink either blue or red, so you'll know at a glance how (or whether!) to answer the call. To answer, just tap the volume knob. And you can search your contacts alphabetically when you want to call someone.

JVC KW-R910BT CD Receiver

Customize your receiver's appearance with the 3-zone variable color display.

Design your display

If you like your display to look a certain way, you'll love the 3-zone Variable-Color Display. You can choose from over 30,000 options, and even assign three different colors to your controls and the display. Choose your three favorite colors, or make your JVC pay tribute to your favorite sports team – the choice is yours. And if you can't decide, let the receiver cycle through all the colors continually. It's actually a very cool effect!

In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (see "Accessories") to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this JVC stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the JVC, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls.

This radio feels like the best value for upgrading your factory system to a modern compatible system.

Excellent CD Receiver at a Great Value

    2000 Nissan Pathfinder
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have had this CD receiver for less than two weeks and will update my review when I have had a chance to explore more of the functionality. Thus far, I have not used Bluetooth or the USB & AUX jacks. FM reception and sound is excellent and the CD player works great. There are a tremendous number of sound, EQ and display settings. It can actually be a little daunting, but with some time to fiddle, this unit gets dialed in nicely and looks really cool. If you like color, you will LOVE this receiver. If you are the simple type, it may be a little too "disco" for you. This double DIN deck slid neatly into my 2000 Nissan Pathfinder. Installation was a breeze and Crutchfield's instructions, DIY kit and phone Tech support is off the charts amazing. I really can't say enough about Crutchfield's Customer Service. NOBODY does it better. I called a few times with questions about the speaker installation (separate review). I always had a live tech immediately. No automated answering system. I don't think the phone ever rang more than twice. Almost unheard of these days! In any case, the unit performs very well - especially for the price paid. I see there is a new model of this unit which, I assume, behaves very similarly. Buy with confidence!

Pros: Beautiful, "razzle dazzle" customizable color display. Very good sound. Plenty of customization. Multiple inputs and connection options (though I have not tested Bluetooth, USB or AUX yet). easy display. Crutchfield's best in class service and support.

Cons: So many customization options, it can be a little daunting.

The unit looks great and my daughter enjoys the sound. It was easy to put in and the mic for the bluetooth was simpler than I anticipated to attach and mount. The sound from the bluetooth mic my wife said was crystal clear. You are also able to adjust the mic settings to amplify it's ability to communicate better while driving. All in all it's a nice stereo and won't break the bank. It took me about 1-2 hours to install completely.

IMO. Buy new. Do not buy scratch n dent. Mine was clearly a returned unit that was used for a while and still had dirt from normal usage as well as the MANY marks and scratches from being used for awhile. I haven't installed it yet, so my review is solely on the appearance when i opened the box. I immediately expected a bad surprise when I opened the main box. This was because the head units box look like it had done a tour in Iraq. Oh well. The $20 I tried to save was the cost of this lesson learned.

Fit perfectly, easy install, and works great. Bluetooth synced easily with my Samsung galaxy s5. I am pleased

Pros: The fit, operation, and sound are great. Hands free Bluetooth phone operation is good.

Cons: Had a little trouble with the wiring. There is a blue power antenna wire that must be connected to get good reception. I called Crutchfield help line and they let me know my error, and I fixed it straight away.

    Very Nice Stereo

    2004 Honda Accord LX
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This thing is pretty cool. I especially like three color zones and changing light options. I haven't played around with the Pandora or IHeart Radio modes yet. I have done plenty of Bluetooth streaming however. It works effortlessly, and isn't anywhere are slow as people have said. As soon as I get in my car, it takes about 5 seconds to automatically connect, then I'm in business. If you are watching online videos through the stereo, there is an almost 2 second delay from what you are watching to what you are hearing. So it will be out of sync. The remote is tiny, its about the size of my thumb, which makes using it hard, but it is a nice addition. I did not connect the bluetooth mic, I just don't see myself using that very often. Caution: If you have a 7th Generation Honda Accord, and you plan on installing this stereo in the cubby underneath the stock stereo... you will need an FM antenna extension cable. Even after removing all the clips and fully extending your FM antenna, it will be about an inch and a half too short.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great unit! This is my first double din and I have to say, I love it more than any single din unit. My only dislike is that if you connect an ipod through a USB cable you'll only be able to control it from the headunit, which takes forever if you have 70gb like I do. The microphone is great, my car is open turbo downpipe and obnoxiously loud, and everyone says they can hear me just fine windows up or down. My second JVC unit and I will continue to purchase JVC!! Thanks Crutchfield!

Pros: Microphone is great! Color shifting JVC quality

Cons: Ipod control through unit Autoscan didn't pick up local stations well, had to set myself

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am very pleasantly surprised with how well this stereo sounds for the price I paid! It has the features I wanted (CD, USB port & Pandora) though I wasn't thrilled with how the Bluetooth would have to be hooked up with a wire showing so I didn't even bother and just continued to hook into the radio using my visor wireless bluetooth. Other than that, everything else was great! Some of the settings will take time to remember how to get to (the personal USER settings for the equilizer still require me to look it up in the manual but I'm sure I'll remember over time. I would recommend this inexpensive stereo to anyone who wasn't willing to spend huge amounts of money but still want decent sound.

Pros: Good sound for price, works wonderfully, colors are very cool.

Cons: exposed microphone wire for bluetooth, hard to find some settings without manual

    1999 Nissan Pathfinder
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I ordered this JVC to replace the broken Bose system on my 1999 Pathfinder (should be the same from 1996-2002). I also got the Scosche CNN03 Wiring Interface, Metra 95-7417 Dash Kit and Metra 40-NI10 Antenna Adapter too. The installation was straight forward. The Scosche came with the wires already connected. I only need to match up the colors on the Scosche to the harness that came with the JVC. As some reviewers mentioned, there are 2 extra wires coming out of the Scosche connectors. In fact, both of the Scosche connectors have 2 blue wires (one solid and one with white stripe), and 2 black wires (one solid and one with white stripe). I connected both of the blue wires to the power antenna blue wire from the JVC's harness. I connected both black wires to the ground black from the JVC's harness. Without this, you don't get sound. After this, everything else is pretty easy. I installed the microphone on top of the steering column and the sound was pretty clear (according to the wife). The setup is straight forward and I was able to pair both my Iphone 6Plus running IOS 9.3.1 and my wife's 5C also running 9.3.1. Audio streaming is nice and the sound quality is really good, much better than my stock sound. One thing, I reused the factory bracket on the JVC along with the Mestra kit. The screw holes didn't line up properly with the unit. I was only able to get 3 screws in instead of 4, but it was tight enough. I haven't had issues with the display in sunlight.

Pros: Price Ease of installation Great sound Colors are a bonus

Cons: Wiring diagram needs updated. Holes don't line up with OEM bracket (this may only apply to Pathfinder and not other cars)

We installed this stereo in my used 2006 Subaru Forester over the weekend - it was my first time installing a radio and we had the whole thing done in about two hours (would have been waaay shorter if the car didn't have some weird aftermarket radio issues from the previous owner that we had to deal with.) The stereo is so customizable - and the Bluetooh mic has great call quality! Very good value for a car radio - it makes me happy every time I get in the car!

Pros: Easy to use and install

Cons: Can feel a bit "flashy" and distracting if you don't customize the lights after installation

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced the stereo in my sons car as a birthday gift. I installed the stereo in a couple of minutes; taking the trim and dash pieces apart was the most difficult part of the install, which had nothing to do with the stereo. My son loves it because it has all the features he wanted. I found the controls for the colors a little challenging, but he's working it very well. The sound quality is very good with the stock speakers in the car. The mic easily mounts in a location that makes hands free phone calls through the Bluetooth connection an added safety feature. Overall, this stereo is great and I am very pleased with it.

Pros: Bluetooth, multi-color display, hands-free calls, Aux connection, Pandora

    Cons: None at this time

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was looking for a receiver that had advanced BT capabilities, steering wheel controls and would display the clock when the receiver was off. The KW-R910BT satisfied all of my requirements and, having had purchased a JVC for my previous vehicle, I figured I would be familiar with the sound and operations. I purchased all of the necessary installation hardware from Crutchfield and had the unit installed by an independent installer. I was pleased with the sound out of the box, but haven't had a chance to customize the audio settings yet which should lead to even better sound. The steering wheel controls all work, though not in the same order. In other words the "Mute" button is now the "Seek" button and vice-versa. Not a big deal. BT works fantastic, pairing easily, and reconnects quickly when entering the car. Streaming works flawlessly and there was no problem loading my phone book. The only disappointment I have is the display. While the clock will display when the unit is off, what I didn't realize is that, unlike my previous JVC, it only has a single line display. So the clock can not be displayed simultaneously with the metadata which is all displayed individually. Disappointed that there isn't an option to have all of the information scroll across the display. The variable colors are nice in that I could match my existing color scheme. The build quality is okay, though the buttons don't exactly have a tactile feel to them. You need to apply a little pressure t

Pros: Steering wheel controls, advance BT capabilities work flawlessly. Variable color display allows for matching existing color scheme.

Cons: Single line display doesn't allow for multiple information being displayed. Buttons lack tactile feeling.

Install was very easy. Did my homework and did the wiring the night before, found an online video on how to take the dash apart and remove the old radio. When it came to install the radio, it took about 40 minutes.

Good head unit, easy to install, sounds great. Hooking up via Bluetooth and the beginning was a bit challenging but now it works seamlessly. I wish that you could turn off some of the moving display (not demo mode) There are some bars that move back and forth and I have not found anything or anybody that said those can be stopped. Oh well

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have multiple cars and I have to have my tunes in them. My show cars have subs and expensive head units and top quality speakers so I am used to having great sound when I am cruising around. I had been looking to upgrade my Tundra's radio for a bit and Crutchfield sent a magazine with this JVC unit on the cover as being one of their most bought. I looked it over, saw it met my needs and ordered it along with some fosgate 6 1/2" for the rear and Fosgate component for the front. This access cab on this Toyota is not very roomy so I am currently checking out a way to add a sub. So back to the JVC, it had decent outputs on the back, decent power and pretty easy to use it seemed so I ordered that also. Super simple to hook up since Crutchfield sends everything. Once I figured out there was a separate little amp that hooks up to the stock Toyota radio, it was just plug and play. Good sound, cool lights and plenty of adjustments to sub and EQ.

Pros: inexpensive, great item if you don't want to spend a lot of money.

Cons: Menu is a bit tedious to use but still acceptable.

Pros: Worked the first time; more to do with the wiring, I suppose. Plenty of great features, but I was after the blue tooth and hands free phone option. Those worked great and were easy to learn about. Pre-set equalizer for genres of music is nice. Clean finish, nice looking. Lighter weight than the OE 6-disc unit with few technical options. This is definitely an upgrade that has me asking why I did not do this sooner.

Cons: Too many colors; I'm a bit old fashion, I suppose, but the constant moving lights are a distraction.

The JVC unit was simple to install in my 2007 F250 and the instrucitons were accurate. Fits and looks like a factory unit. Microphone relocated to headliner where not really visible. Sound quality is great and loud. Bluetooth phone, music, and GPS guidance works very well with my Galaxy Edge 6+ . Display oriented more towards a teenager, lots of colors choices, color zones, flashing lights, moving bars, etc. Very distracting while driving. I set all colors to a solid state of blue and minimalized dynamics. I would recomend this unit. Good deal for the price.

It's a nice unit with good sound and terrific FM clarity (for those who still listen to FM). It takes a few minutes to figure out how to adjust the settings, but not long. The main control knob and buttons are a little slippery. When you first install and turn it on the lights turn on and off, change color, and jump around enough to cause a seizure. No, there's not an electrical short, it's just the demo routine. Fortunately, the very first page in the book tells you how to turn off that crazy pattern.

Never in my life thought I'd take a stab at doing anything stereo-related on my own..but that's to help of Crutchfiled, I actually installed this on my own. Took me a few hours longer than it should have since I was too stubborn to ask for additional help, but I got it to work without blowing the car up. The receiver itself is great, so far. Granted, my demands were minimal..basically just wanted a double din unit with an AUX jack as I actually still own an ipod (yes, really) and a USB port. Both work well and are easy to swap between. The stereo in my car (350z) is notoriously bad, so having an affordable alternative that works so well is great. Thank you again to Crutchfield for the detailed installation directions. Couldn't be happier with everything!

Pros: Easy install, modern features, good button feel

I've had this unit in my Jeep for about a month now. So far so good. It was relatively easy to install with the kit matched up by the Crutchfield team. It pushes my stock speakers nicely, and integrates well with the new sub I added (nice sub control settings within the head unit). On top of the sound quality, the thing just looks cool as hell. Customizable color settings are a nice touch. Sometimes the bluetooth can be a bit glitchy (hence 4 stars on "Build Quality"), it doesn't always pick up audio on the first try. It may also struggle if there are multiple blue tooth devices on at once. Fairly easy remedies, generally fixed by turning the BT on your device off and back on, and shutting off BT on devices not in use, respectively. I know you can update the firmware on the unit also, which I may be doing soon.

Pros: Easy to install. Looks great. Sounds great.

I bought this unit July 2014 and it has been working flawless up until 2 months ago. Upon starting my truck, unit would power on, then power off and right back on. Did this maybe 3 times in 2 months. Now, it is doing it more frequently, and today, it was actually playing for about 2 minutes after starting the truck, then powered off, stayed off for about 30 seconds and came back on. I have this installed as a replacement for my factory stereo and factory speakers. I do not have this system amped or any other aftermarket equipment, it is not a "bass boomer". Last JVC I will own.

This time was no exception. I put this model in a 2005 Toyota Highlander. I like that it is larger to fit the space left by the original unit. It fit well and was fairly easy to install. Bought this to bring the old bomber up to snuff..I advise you to read the manual about a dozen times first to get the idea of how to set it up.....there are a zillion of them......first, the BT works great, had to adjust the EQ setting on user1 to the max, improves the call sound greatly.....it only takes about 10 sec. Or so to pair up with phone after start up...mic. Settings are tough to do , has to be with the phone on call, trial and error.....the cd and FM audio is awesome, am lacks the same punch with same eq on,, no big deal ...in bright daylight the display will wash out at times..minor problem..the one thing that urks me, when turning on your dash lights with the unit off at night, no lights come on to show you the display..stupid for a unit that has every light you could want..so to get around this, I never shut the unit down, just turn the key off..there is a few second delay when powered up , so the car will start before the head unit....like others have noted, the sound is excellent with the oem speakers, so dont see the need to replace, can it do later if want to....will take about 5 days or so to play with all the settings to get where you want to be, trial and error again.........well worth it.......

Pros: Great sound and looks........ The BT comes in handy or should I say handless....

Cons: No lights display with dashboard lights, when unit is off.........in bright daylight lose display.....

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My wife purchased this for me and i was a little apprehensive. I was so wrong. Installation took a total of less than an hour. Setup was a little longer. Other reviewers are correct that the initial usage isn't quite intuitive but it's not hard to figure out and once you do it's just as easy as factory. I installed it into a 2003 Chevy venture without any additional equipment such as steering wheel controls or back up cameras. I really thought I was going to have to replace the factory speakers because before the new head unit, they sounded almost blown and just terrible. After the new head unit, the factory speakers are 1000 times better. Still probably going to replace them for better quality sound but overall doable for now. I almost didn't even install the mic because i know most bluetooth stereos sound absolutely horrible on the other end. This one gives enough controls that my wife says it sounds as good, or better then my LG headset bluetooth. So functionally it is a sound quality unit that i'm even debating on replacing in my wife car. The bells and whistles of this otherwise basic model are what sets it apart. Not only do you have color control, you have full control over the levels of blue, red, and green in the colors you choose. Bluetooth audio and pandora allow me to listen to my music and keep my phone charged without the static from a line in and aux power jack situation. Final thoughts, probably the best unit out there if you don't need built in nav or

Pros: Color change with full control, ease of set-up and install. Also changes colors from day to night. Pandora works like a dream, iPhone music works great. Bluetooth calling sounds much better than anticipated. So many options you can truly make it your own.

Cons: Remote is a little tiny with not as many functions as i would like. Not as intuitive as I would like so you actually have to think while you set it up but once you do it's awesome.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Have now had this radio installed for about a month--a big improvement over the factory unit (2010 Toyota Yaris). Sound quality is great and the bluetooth works just fine, including the phone and the remote microphone. The wiring harness that was supplied worked perfectly, too (I took the time to solder the connections and protect them with shrink-tubing). Install was easy, with one minor complaint: The face of the unit sticks out about 1/4 inch further than the factory radio. This leaves a small gap between some of the car trim pieces. Not a big deal, and it looks okay. It's just not a perfect fit. Finally, as others have noted, the control menus for brightness, color, equalizer, etc. are not very intuitive. With patience and constant checking of the manual you can eventually get where you need to go and make the changes you want to make. Shouldn't be that hard.

Pros: Good sound. Bluetooth connects easily with phone and works quite well.

Cons: Not a perfect fit. Menu sequence is confusing.

They only have the ones for the standard non-Navigation system. I have yet to install it, but I'm sure I can find ones online. It would have been nice to have "real" ones.

Not as good as the older models

Fred from Lansing, MI on 1/20/2016

I used to have an old JVC model and I loved it. For some reason this model will not retain the hours for the clock. I have it wired correctly because the minutes always stay accurate, but the hours will not stay on time. Also, for those in colder climates, you might want to consider getting something else as this radio acts sluggish when below freezing. Also, another complaint that I have is that this radios volume settings are not very adjustable. I'm not saying it's deafening, just annoyingly loud. Even on 1 the radio seems super loud to me. When I have people in the car and we are talking I almost have to turn the radio off because even when the radio is on the lowest setting it is too loud. It isn't bad at highway speeds (because of road noise) but for city driving it isn't as adjustable as I'd like. Another complaint that I have is the JVC app. I couldn't figure out how to use it with my radio. Other than these complaints, this radio does everything that was advertised. The sound quality is great and it has a lot of great features. I just wish that the few things I complained about were better. JVC makes good stuff, I'm just not sure why this one has so many problems.

Pros: Great sound quality Lots of features Color customization Has a pretty good "night" setting

Cons: Clock will not retain hour time (only retains minutes) Sluggish when used below freezing Volume is either loud or off App is hard to figure out

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this unit to replace a poor quality aftermarket unit in my mustang. It's a much more quality unit than others that I looked at and reviewed. Install was simple and finished product was major upgrade. Even though the unit is not a newer model it performs just as well and maybe better than some of the more expensive models. The only 2 drawbacks that I have found are 1 ) the remote control is too small , hard to find while driving and 2) wish it had a build in mic for the phone bluetooth, even though it's a wired mic still looks and performs very well.

Pros: easy install controls are simple to use looks great in the dash

Cons: wired mic for phone bluetooth remote control is on the small side

While the unit met all of my expectations, I really want to say that the customer support I received from Crutchfield sales and technical support staff have made me a customer for life. I ordered the wrong adapter and called customer support. They quickly found the problem and shipped me the correct one and a label for free return of my old one. This was Saturday and I got through immediately to a tech that knew his stuff and quickly resolved my issue.

Overall, I like this unit. There are lots of features and adjust-ability on receiver. I like the fact that you can change the colors. Day/Night changes with the headlights is very nice. Would be nice if you could set EQ presets with certain radio stations...if you can, I haven't figured that out. Microphone quality seems to be good and callers I've spoken to say I'm coming thru loud and clear. I'm not that familiar with all the various other receivers out there so I can't really say this one is better or worse, but it certainly has the features I was looking for and I'm glad I purchased it.

    Pros: blue-tooth audio/pandora/iHeart

    Cons: none to speak of.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Shipping was fast and Crutchfield was awesome to work with. Install was a breeze and learning how to use the stereo was not bad at all. Bluetooth works perfectly and the sound is just as good if not better than mt old Kenwood I had. I was going to go with another Kenwood, but the price on this unit I just couldn't pass it up. I am so happy that I bought this JVC. The little remote is silly as it needs a better and bigger remote. However, I have no need for it so it's not a big deal. I do wish it had a better parametric EQ than just a three band EQ. Still, the presets are great and my system sounds awesome. I have a Android LG phone and setting it up was easy.

    Pros: Pretty much everything

Cons: Little remote that doesn't do much but works.

Not disappointed at all with this purchase. Still figuring out all the features that this is loaded with but the sound is great especially from iPhone. Huge improvement to plug it in with USB so it will charge while you listen versus the fm modulation I was doing before. Cd sound also good. I read complaints about fm radio reception but I've had no issues. Only had this for a couple days but VERY happy with my purchase. I had never bought from Crutchfield before but would definitely do it again. Their chat support when I was buying and their instructions were very helpful and made install easy.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've ordered from Crutchfield for many years and the recent order was terrible. No more step by step instructions but a generic guide with one drawing that didn't even look like our vehicle. The unit fit but we had to cut and modify the car, all of this was not indicated by anything Crutchfield sent us. Two trips to the store for parts to get it to fit. Still not there but we hope today in 32 degree weather we can finish it. This is going in my son's first car so my oldest son and I will have to finish it. I order from Crutchfield for the parts needed and the instructions that go with what we order. The extra cost makes it worth it. Well that ended this time. I can save 25.00 to 30.00 and order somewhere else. As far as helpful instructions and pictures and parts, seems Crutchfield no longer does that.

Pros: I gave it 2 stars because JVC makes really good stereos, but order somewhere else.

Cons: Cost more and you no longer get the help you should be paying for.

Install: Well its been over 30 years since i've installed a car radio. When I saw that Crutchfield got rave reviews for customer service i jumped on the band wagon. When I received the unit a few days after the order, I was a bit taken back by the wiring harness. I had thought that by purchasing a custom harness for a 2004 Chevy Malibu, that it would all be plug & play. there however were wires to solder coming out of the radio to the harness. There was an adapter to plug into the old plug that went to the old radio. Not as bad as it sounds. Most of the wires matched up perfectly color to color from radio to harness. I did have a few questions. I read (mistake) the JVC manual which stated that the yellow wire should be capped off, so i was confused, also there were two greens-one marked option 1(no clue). a quick call to Crutchfield answered my questions. attached the non option 1 green- turned out that was a steering wheel option. And attached the yellow. The instruction booklets were pretty useless as far as installation goes. They were detailed as far as removing the old radio. I had already done that from Youtube vids. Installation was pretty intuitive. The unit fit perfectly. Radio Usage: The radio fired up at least for me in demo mode. What that means is that the lights keep changing- looks like it shorted out, but didnt. Pandora stream-Great- Cd perfect. Hands free calling & answering-perfect. Have to get used to voice call-you speak into phone-not radio.

Pros: Pandora stream, looks cool, voice dialing auto answering.

    Cons: Haven't found any yet.

I bought this for my 2005 350Z. This was my first purchase from Crutchfield, and definitely won't be my last. The included installation instructions and parts made the setup relatively easy for someone with zero experience. Navigating through the settings using the beautiful shiny knob is intuitive enough that you don't really even need to read the manual (although I recommend that you do). There are plenty of color options for the three independently colors zones. The lights dim slightly when the headlights are turned on for nighttime driving. Several options for audio inputs ensures accessibility. Skipping during a song played through a Bluetooth connection is rare, but it has happened (usually just after the connection is made). For those on a budget, I'd highly recommend this product, especially around Black Friday!

Cons: Very tight fit in the car I put it in. The wire harness on the back of the stereo is on the opposite side of what it needs to be, but it will fit.

We put it in my girlfriend's car and she can easily change any parameters she wants and when I ride with her I can play with more in depth specifications that she doesn't necessarily care about. The sound quality is dead on and the adaptability for various sources is incredible. For the price tag this is an amazing deck to buy.

This is an amazing deck for the price. The sound and clarity is very good, it is packed with features. I didn't want to spend a lot of money as I was installing this in a work truck so a major part of my decision was price. I am sorry I didn't purchase this a year ago. This deck was less than the price of the ticket I had to pay for talking on the cell phone. I really didn't expect a lot for the cost of the deck, it sounds good, it looks good and the bluetooth phone feature is very good. When making phone calls you can hear great and the sound quality for the person you are speaking with is very clear. This unit's performance exceeds all of my expectations.

I purchased this radio as an early Xmas present for my girlfriend. She loved the radio and especially the bluetooth. She synced up her Iphone and is ready to go. The radio has a lot of features and for the $ it is well worth it. It was a snap to install(well in her Hyundai, anyway) especially since it came with the install kit. I only purchased a few extras to do as professional a job as I could. Thanks to Crutchfield the whole thing went smooth.

Works like a $1000 bucks and i'm very stubborn when it comes to sound quality. I was overly impressed. Granted it takes getting accustomed to the functions of the radio, but I love what it can do and the quality of the sound. Bluetooth works as it should, although it does takes a little long to connect initially when you FIRST get in the car. I'm talking 10 -15 seconds compared to instantly, therefore its tolerable. When i play pandora through my phone, once in a blue moon i have to select the item my bluetooth should connet to through my phone. All in all it was a very simple install, a great great product. 2005 Nissan Frontier
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After my trusty JVC KD-A815 died, I replaced it with this unit. The double din size was a cleaner install in my 2005 Nissan Frontier, but the unit really falls short of being as functional as the unit it replaced. I am accustomed to having all of my music on one 32 gig thumb drive, plugging it into the rear USB port on the KD-A815, and then scrolling through my album collection alphabetically. After exhaustive study (and I have a Masters Degree), the software on this unit is so poor, it will only list the 400+ albums on my thumb drive from 1-400+. And, it will only do so one arrow click at a time. I say this with all sincerity, I will probably trash this stereo. This unit is so clumsy, its dangerous.

Pros: Lots of fancy disco lights you don't need. Lots of ways to connect your phone wirelessly, or with the more distracting USB wire. When you finish looking at the road, look at the dash for a while. Then follow the cord down to your phone so you can manage your music. I find this concept absurd. One person can't stay in the car, while the other takes the phone to do.....whatever. I can't believe Crutchfield sold me this stereo. I'm so disappointed.

Cons: The readout panel on this unit is terrible. The letters are large enough, but the display is so cheat it usually truncates portions of characters or entire characters. This includes names of songs and song numbers. I don't need the radio options. I'm a progressive rocker. What is Pandora going to do for me. And, again I have to connect my phone - and probably an expensive phone. I like my thumb drive. I take it out every couple of months to update the music. Otherwise, it stays in my truck.

I thought the sound system on my Honda Element was a great one with the seven speaker w/woofer system until this head unit was installed. Simply amazing sound coming from what I considered more than adequate prior to installation. Other retailers had a three hour estimate for installation. The installer was impressed with 75 minute install and 15 minute system guidance training he spent with me. He credited in part to the inclusion of the proper connection parts. Only issue was the output converter wasn't needed for the install.

Pros: Sound output - terrific! Color face controls great. Daytime lighting excellent. Auto switch to night lighting, perfection. Install time was amazing. Arrived at 2:30 and back on the street by 4:00!

Cons: Learning curve for functions was a bit steep but I'm an Apple guy and we're spoiled rotten. Only thing that could be better would be an Apple head unit! Another 25 cents spent by JVC for a higher quality instruction manual would make the quality of their product shine!

It was a priority when I thought the installation kit would make installation a breeze but the kit has proved incompatible with the existing wiring in my Miata. My daily driver is a 1995 Nissan Maxima with a power antenna. This Head Unit was purchased to replace a Sony Multi disc player (no longer made) that quit playing. I found this install to be problematic even with excellent support from Crutchfield. The wiring harness (confusing to begin with) had no capability of bypassing the power antenna when the Tuner wasn't in use. Also, the product demonstration (although capable of being shut off) was Terrible-flashing lights and generally annoying. The Display feature never seemed to work properly. I found the unit way too bright in the early morning, & way to dark in the sunlight, I never was able to adjust the dimmer properly & found the display had 4 different zones that were adjustable. The unit also comes with a Remote?? for what? I would have preferred an AUX cord.

I did have two problems with it though, IheartRadio will not link up, I don't know if its because of the radio or the app needed to connect. I suspect the app. Pandora and blue tooth work fine. The other problem is the microphone, since the port is on the rear side of the radio I found it difficult to find an exit for it to the front of my dash. Its not hard to learn to use, a quick read of the manual and you're set. no but seriously it is a ridiculously nice with great features.

excellent head unit, I purchased 2 of these, one for my wifes car and one for my sons truck, both sound and look great, I'm a big fan of Pioneer electronics but I have to admit, JVC makes an incredible sound system, these are not my first JVC units either and definitely wont be my last, sorry Pioneer, JVC is quickly winning me over :) I and my wife are a little too old for the flashing disco effect from the lighting but it is cool I guess for the younger people, my son likes it at least LOL I do love that you can match your dash lighting perfectly with these units so it looks more like a factory installed unit, it has features that only the highest end vehicles have in their factory installed systems plus you get even better sound quality and RCA line outputs for upgrading amps in the future if you want or need more power.... the built in subwoofer crossover was awesome in my previous JVC unit, I've not used that feature in either of these yet but I expect it to be great too, this is easily one of (or 2 of in my case) the best low cost head units I've ever owned... if you're looking for a low cost, high quality double DIN head unit that both looks, and sounds great, you'll not be disappointed with this one...

Pros: Bluetooth connect-ability with any Bluetooth smartphone, Pandora control via Bluetooth, millions of lighting colors so it will match any dash lighting color, great sound and build quality

Cons: none with JVC, the only issue I had was that 1 of the antenna adapters was faulty, a quick call to Crutchfield customer service and a few days waiting for a replacement adapter and that issue was resolved, the adapter kit wasn't a perfect fit for our HHR but was easy enough to make it fit perfectly with some miner tweaking...this is a very tight fit for an HHR so be ready to have a bit of a struggle getting all the wiring back in the dash opening, just a little heads up for the HHR owners :)

This is a great product for anyone looking to upgrade from their stock head unit. I replaced the stock head unit from my 2006 nissan xterra with this product and only wish I did it sooner. The microphone picks up voice very well for phone calls and voice commands. I now dial numbers and send texts without picking up my phone (samsung galaxy s5). The bluetooth works great. I use spotify, pandora, and Google search with Bluetooth audio on a regular basis. Only issue I have is using Pandora. It's figity with connecting sometimes and requires you to open your phone to allow access to the app. Sounds quality to my speakers is improved. I should probably replace my speakers to keep up with the ability of the head unit. Had to do some tweaking to eliminate bass rattle. The install went very well. I took advantage of the Crutchfield staff for advice and they were more than helpful. Call before you check out to make sure you have the necessary cable splicers. Do yourself a favor and install properly - zip ties, panel poppers and instructions.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I own a 2003 Subaru that I bought new. I used the original stereo CD changer that was factory installed for the past 12 years, until the unit jammed and I was forced to consider replacing it. I knew that the best place to both find a new unit and learn how to replace it myself was Crutchfield. Having favored JVC for most of my sound system needs, I chose the KW-R910BT. Sure enough, using Crutchfield's illustrated instructions, I was able to replace the faulty unit in about two hours. What a revelation! The original stereo was built in a time before flash drives and smart phones were considered music mediums. I used to love the fact that I could load 6 CDs into the changer and have 60 to 75 songs I could listen to without having to manually intervene. However, with a single flash drive, I'm able to load over 1,000 songs and probably never have to touch the stereo again. The shifting color changes offer a splendid light show that adds to the entertainment value. I don't require having a phone in the car, but it's great to know that a hands-free Bluetooth feature is available should the need ever arise. The one major enhancement I noticed concerning the sound performance of the unit is separation. There is definitely a much more pronounced stereo effect on the JVC than on the original equipment. All told, this was an excellent investment for the price and it feels good to finally trade up to the 21st century.

Pros: Ease of installation, beautiful design, excellent stereo separation, input selection, color shifting display

Cons: Music information (song title, artist, album, genre, etc.) only scrolls upon initial load of the input medium. After using the unit for 3 months the mic stopped working. I can make calls, but no one can hear, me rendering the BT handsfree useless which was one of the reasons a bought it. I updated the firmware to no avail, Pulled the unit out and checked that the mic wire hadn't been cut (all was ok), Reset the unit and deleted and paired again. Nothing will make it work. I'm at wits end. It's passed the 60 day return policy so I guess i'm stuck with a malfunctioning unit.

42 yr old female, 2003 Chevy Avalanche and never installed a stereo. Muchless a stereo, chimes AND steering wheel control. Took me whole day, working slow and methodically but, I did it! The only problem I encountered was the red power wire; the factory harness did not have one. Quick trip to my favorite auto store, 1 small roll of wire and a fuse tap; problem solved! Everything works great, even found a purple display setting! This sytem looks great in my 03 Avalanche with this year I didn't need (or want) anything fancy, it looks great, not out of place. Stereo runs my USB Scandisk Cruzer Fit flawlessly and because of its small size it doesn't look "messy" hanging out of the stereo. BTW Can I still call it or stereo or am I just dating myself?!

Pros: Easy to install! Sounds great and looks great in my avalanche!

    Cons: ZERO!

A friend has the previous generation of this stereo and recommended this one to me. Installation was simple. It sounds much better than the stock stereo that it replaced, and the bluetooth connects consistently. I've been told that the speakerphone sounds much better now as well. There were a couple of glitches when I first used it, but those were fixed by the firmware update available from JVC.

As a 38-year-old guy, I really didn't think I would be replacing a factory stereo again me my life, but I decided I wanted Bluetooth audio and hands-free calling, but I didn't want to buy a new car. This stereo sounds so much better than the factory unit (using the same speakers). It was easy to install and easy to program. The audio quality is great on calls. I've had a lot of people that I talk to on a regular basis while driving down the road tell me how much better it sounds than using ear buds. I'm very happy with my purchase and Crutchfield sent me everything I needed to complete the job.

Pros: Easy to install. Great audio quality.

Cons: I don't think there are any negatives. I just wish I would have made this purchase sooner.

Very happy with this unit. Installed in my 2003 Silverado 1500. Factory radio had mostly died. Used the Metra installation accessories. My truck has the Bose speakers, so I left them. The install kit I bought let me keep the factory amp and the steering wheel controls. This was a big plus for me. The Bluetooth features are outstanding as well. Can now make hands free phone calls as well as stream Pandora wirelessly from my phone. My kids think the way that the colors change on the face is just the coolest thing ever. Love everything about it and very happy.

Acquired this unit for the Bluetooth capabilities for hands free driving. Cannot answer or hang up the cell phone call rendering this function useless. Called Crutchfield, they told me to call JVC. Called JVC, they stated that the Samsung cell phone must meet AVRCP Version 1.3 and that I should contact Samsung. Called Samsung and they stated the cell phone was at AVRCP Version 2.0. Called JVC and provided them with this info - they stated I should update the firmware which I did. Unit still does not operate any differently. JVC states nothing else can be done. For our purposes this purchase was a complete waste of money and time. This unit turned out to be a defective boat anchor that looks real good.

The sound is excellent. The radio itself is easy to program and use, this coming from a 65 year old guy! The double din size gives a much larger display of the titles playing even in bright sunlight. The display on the single din in my 2002 was virtually impossible to see in the daylight, which appears to be a problem with all single din radios. The double din is much easier to see. Surprisingly pleased with this radio. Easy to install once I figured out the kit's instructions were inadequate. Phone paired easily and and works nicely providing hands free use, an Illinois law.

Pros: Display easier to read than single din. Great sound and easy to use.

    Cons: None so far.

I purchased this unit for my daughters car, since the old unit had seen better days. It was a birthday present for her, so in addition to the head unit and speakers, I got her a gift card to have it installed at a local electronics store. The reason I say this is the installer was heard to say that I had "hooked her up with a banging system." I thought that this was high praise from someone who installs these things all day long.

Pros: Easy to setup, use and install. Build quality is what you would expect from JVC, and the units fits just like a glove (just make sure you get the install kit). The Blue Tooth connectivity is first rate, and has allowed the use of hands free cell phone calls. A big plus for my daughter.

Cons: I have not seen really anything that I would consider a con. When you order this, just insure that you get the install kit, so the system will blend into the dash like the factory unit.

I'm very happy with the performance of the stereo. The CD, radio and BT work without issue. If I had it connected to BT on my phone to pass music or podcast to the stereo, it picks it back up upon reentry. The BT for phone is great. No complaints about hollow sound. I'd recommend it to anyone and buy it again if I had a need. The radio has a ton of customization so you'll have to read the instructions. It powers up by default in "demo mode" with has the display flashing and changing colors. I can't imagine anyone over the age of 12 would find it cool but reading the instructions you quickly find out how to turn it off and choose your own colors.

This Stereo head unit is a nice sounding one for the money. I installed it in 10 minutes with the Metra 70-1761 receiver wiring harness that Crutchfield recommended. It's a nice sounding stereo with plenty of choices as far as sound/display goes. I am a somewhat disappointed though with the display being too dim compared to other head units I have installed. I have the display option on full blast (highest setting) & I still have a difficult time seeing the display. Other than that? Setting up the display & sound options takes a little time but it's like any new stereo head unit, once you figure out how to do it, it's a piece of cake. The installation was a breeze & it sounds good. It's perfect for the frugal shopper who wants good sound without breaking the bank account.

I recently purchased and installed a JVC KW-R910BT CD receiver in my daily driver. This unit has more features than I'll probably use but that's not a bad thing by any means. I am impressed with the quality of the rotary knob on the face as well as the various other controls. Sturdy would best describe this unit. Sound quality is better than expected and there are many EQ options available if you don't like factory presets. The face can display many different color combinations and after a quick glance at the owner's manual, changing the different settings was a breeze. Bluetooth, front panel 1/8 jack as well a USB input make this a versatile stereo. Haven't had it long enough for a five star rating. Very pleased with this purchase.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

OK, finally git this installed (Along with the optional steering wheel control kit) into a 2009 Prius. The Prius requires removal of 3/4s of the dash! Still getting used to setting up and using the Bluetooth for my my devices. Got my phone and iPod connected but it does not automatically recognize them after turning it off then back on. The devices show that they are connected but the JVC says they are not. Very important for the Prius, there are three connectors that attach to the OEM radio and only two of these get used to connect to the JVC. This is a bit of a problem since the Prius uses the sound system to supply beeps when you use the Prius Multi-Function Display (MFD). If the MFD does not receive verification that the beep was generated you cannot control the heating and air conditioning system and it does not display the cars energy usage info. There is a work around for this which requires installing a 68 ohm resistor across pins 9 and 10 on the unused connector. Would have been nice if the install kit had the receiving side of this connector with the resistor installed.

Pros: Real pretty, lots of lighting options... Many features

Cons: Tough to get accustomed to operating it with its multi use buttons and awkward menu.

I have known about Crutchfield for many years as my friends in high school ordered a lot from them but this was my first time using their products and services. I have to say I am very impressed. During install I called with a couple of questions and not only was I on the phone with a tech in less than 20 seconds, they knew who I was before even picking up the phone. Great use of technology and amazing that a company is still going with the personal touch in 2015, no menus and endless prompts to work through

Pros: Great stereo. Does what it claims to do without any issues. Call quality is fantastic on the bluetooth connection. The stereo looks great to boot

Cons: More of an industry "Con" than something specific to this stereo but by now I figured they would have come up with some kind of industry standard for connecting. I didn't expect I would be pulling out my crimper and caps for this job. I got it done but for many this would have been to overwhelming to accomplish.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

There are plenty of reviews for this model. I just want to express my main complaints about it. The Bluetooth connectivity for which I bought it, is very slow and buggy. I wanted Bluetooth, so I could drive more safely while talking or playing music from my phone, but first of all, it takes forever to find my phone when I start my car, and second of all, sometimes after a longer phone call, it will lose the Bluetooth connection and either take a really long time to reestablish it or it will look like it is reestablished, but it won't be. In the latter case, I have to turn the stereo off and on again, and then manually end and restart the Bluetooth connection on my phone. That's not the safest routine to have to go through when driving! The worst part is, this is my second JVC stereo with exactly those problems! The other one was a smaller, but similar model. For this reason, if you are mostly interested in Bluetooth connectivity, I do not recommend this brand at all!

Pros: Sound quality Button Arrangement Looks Features Variety of Inputs

My cd player in my 1999 Toyota Avalon XLS quite working. After doing a little research, I found out that replacing the original AC Delco unit would cost $165, if I could find one. I did some more research, read many reviews on this website and determined that this unit (JVC KW-R910BT) would likely provide the best value for the money. I made the correct decision. The sound is excellent, it looks good, it was easy to install and it functions as advertised. It could be a little bit more user friendly with regard to accessing specific songs when utilizing the USB but it doesn't bother me.

Bought this to replace my stock "Bpse" CD/Tape/AM/FM in my 2003 Nissan Maxima. While I don't use the Internet-related Pandora and IHear features, the rest worked great. The 2 most important features that I bought the unit for were USB connectivity and Bluetooth (including the fact that I could have 2 active phones connected to it, with a 3rd also available for a random guest). Customization features are great, for colors, light brightness and display modes. Equalizer settings are good, and the 2 user-programmable settings perfect for me. Sounds quality is much better than I expected. The only quibbles I have with the unit are minor, relative to the host of positive features. Selecting musing from the USB flash drive is only possible by scrolling through the list of folders, although it's pretty quick once you get the hang of it. Searching by artist/genre/album would have been nice. Quick-select buttons for the various sources would have been nice, instead of having to click and cycle through each one. The USB drive capability appears to be limited to 8GB sticks. One additional complaint that I had was, in retrospect, unavoidable. That is, for USB drives, the default order in which songs alphabetical. This can't be helped. But with all that said and done, I am immensely pleased with the unit. Also, JVC has already published one firmware upgrade for it, which provides additional functionality. So I'm hoping it's just a matter of time before they address the niggles.

Pros: Feature-rich. Dual active bluetooth connectivity with a third for guests. USB reading is quick. Quick bluetooth connectivity for phone calls as well as streaming music. JVC's app for smartphones is fairly nice, and enables quick access to many features of the unit.

Cons: Limited to 8GB USB sticks. USB searching only by folder and song title.

I installed this in my 2010 Ram 1500. It took some modifying to the dash but was well worth the work. It pushes the JVC DRVN 6.5s in the doors great. It's easy to operate with the option for Pro EQ and Easy EQ. Works great when connecting to my Android and Iphone. If I had to complain about anything it would be the remote. Its really small and the volume buttons which I use more than any of the others are at the very bottom. Its awkward to hold. Luckily I have steering wheel controls. Pretty impressive for the price. I highly recommend to anyone whether its for a simple setup or a more advanced setup.

Pros: Ease of use, tons of options, plenty of power

Cons: remote is awkward to hold due to the size and button placement.

I purchased this receiver from Crutchfield and received the installation accessories for free. I intended to install this myself in my 2011 Honda CRV as the instructions were included but decided it would take too long so took it over to a local shop to have them do it. The install took them about an hour and the receiver was good to go! I had to look around to find the small microphone inside the car and eventually found it installed above the rear view mirror. The receiver is definitely an upgrade over the stock receiver. It has so many capabilities. I was able to sync it up to my iphone via bluetooth immediately and play music as well as enjoy hands free calling. The receiver also improved the sound of music even through the stock speakers. I definitely suggest this receiver if you're looking for a versatile, sturdy, but cheap receiver for your vehicle.

Pros: Value Sound Quality Versatility Build Quality Lit up screen

Cons: Receiver did not read my USB. Maybe USB is too old?

Having to settle for Single Din radios (2006 Dodge RAM) , I wanted to expand to something else. Crutchfield gave me all the tools I needed to convert the radio panel to accept a double-din unit. About an hours worth of work modifying the panel, mounting the brackets to the radio (Harness was already wired from a previous JVC Head Unit) and I was listening to my tunes. The instructions that came with the mounting kit showed me where to modify the panel and the rest was cake.

Pros: Great value and ease of installation.

Install was easy enough for a newb. I definitely recommend to anyone wanting to upgrade that wants Bluetooth. I compared many units before buying, this one has great FM reception, and if your using an amp the RMS output is fine.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We ordered this unit to replace the factory unit in our 2006 Toyota Sienna. The Metra dash kit supplied followed the curve of the dash so well that the unit faced up toward the roof washing out the display. Crutchfield tech support worked with us! They sent us a single DIN JVC along with an American International dash kit. While this was better it also aimed the unit up, it washed the display to less a degree but was still hard to use being so far away on the dash with it's small buttons and display. Crutchfield did not have a Scosche double DIN dash kit but they gave me time enough time to acquire one from another source. The Scosche dash kit worked out very well. Now the JVC KW-R910BT rocks the minivan. Once you learn how to work the unit it performs wonderfully. The optional steering wheel control unit works flawlessly as does the unit's standard bluetooth phone, music, Pandora and iHeart. Special thanks to the folks at Crutchfield. They worked hard to make us happy, emailed a UPS call tag so we could easily return the single DIN and the two dash kits that did not work out. This is our third purchase, we are customers for life and have been referring Crutchfield to anyone interested. Great service!

Pros: Great sound, terrific bluetooth phone and music. Big display and plays well with the optional steering wheel controls.

Cons: Can be hard to use until you get to know how to adjust all the settings. Not really a problem once you spend a little time with the manual.

My sister bought this car stereo in Seattle. It is so awesome how it changes to so many different colors! When I seen her I Had Too get one as well. I ordered mine off Crutchfield.com because of all great reviews I read about their site. I am a girl and I have never installed a stereo before, but I have watched my friend a few years ago. It looked pretty simple and I figured I would try it myself (so I didn't have to pay a professional). Crutchfield even e-mailed me instructions on how to install the car stereo with great details. I was confused on why one of the wires were orange and the other one was orange with a white stripe and my other question was why was there 3 black ground wires?... I called Crutchfield support and the guy was Very helpful and responded promptly. Now I am feeling confident with the thorough instructions he gave me. He told me that all three black ground wires should twist together and the orange and orange/white striped cord should twist together as well. When I go home I will see if my new stereo sparks up!

Pros: -Awesome Colors on Stereo -Bluetooth Rocks -Most Wires Were Color Coordinated

Cons: I wish instructions would have told me that the orange wire and orange/white striped wire were supposed to twist together and I wish the instructions told me to twist all three black ground wires together.

For the price this HU is pretty darn good. Plenty of features that you need when one drives as much as I do. The BT calling, microphone, audio and voice dial all work really well. Plenty of display options for those looking to be flashy and different. The eq settings take some time to master but it's nice to be able to fine tune your sound other than just bass & treble. This unit has more watts RMS than others in the category so it powered my Kicker 6x8's just fine. Plenty loud and great sounding. Install was a cinch with the provided hardware. It's very close to a five star rating but the functions could work a little smoother. All in all, likely the best in this price range.

I love this stereo! It made my factory speakers sound fantastic in my 2005 Ford Escape, when they didn't with the factory stereo. The fact that there are 3 zones to change the color in makes me far too excited. It can be a little confusing to figure out how to use the menu and hands-free calling, but if you've had a JVC before, it's easy. Overall, I would definitely recommend this stereo. It even convinced my boyfriend that JVC is the way to go, which isn't an easy feat with him!

Pros: Awesome colors. Fantastic Sound. Hands free calling. Much more!

Cons: Slightly complicated, but has good instructions.

Not bright enough for day use

    Bill from Colorado on 6/7/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The brightness on the display needs to be about 25% brighter for daytime use. Even if you turn the display up to full brightness (31) and try any number of this unit's many color schemes, it just is not bright enough to read during the day without really struggling to do so. This The unit struggles to pair up with Pandora via Bluetooth (I have an S4 with Lollipop). It will either take 30 or more seconds to do so (giving you a CK DEVICE error, or it simply will not connect at all. I only got iHeart to start correctly once, but then it would not play any Live stations and would just say "Buffering" for minutes on end, in spite of my phone having a strong 4G signal. Read the Google Play reviews on the JVC iHeart Link software. The user interface is pretty intuitive (after you've played it with it for a couple of hours), and the buttons are easy to locate when driving given the way they are laid out. It was a good value, but the display brightness is what I finally found to be unusable...and just plain unsafe to drive around with. I agree with the other comments that the animated horizontal bars are a real annoyance after awhile and one should be able to turn them off. I also can't imagine driving around with one of the constantly changing color schemes turned on. It's just gimmicky and is a real driver distraction. The display mode should continually alternate between the album or station name, artist name and track name. But you instead have to toggle between these

Pros: Nice button layout. Nice color and audio control selections. Good sound quality. User Interface is intuitive

Cons: Display just isn't nearly bright enough for daytime use (this is why I gave the review one star). Pandora connection via Bluetooth is very hit and miss. iHeart just doesn't work unless you just stream the content over in the Bluetooth source mode. Scrolling metadata display mode needs improvement

I was new to installing car stereos, but work professionally with theatre/classroom/television electronics, so I hoped it'd be as straightforward as I thought. The directions confirmed what I thought, the entire install took less than an hour from unboxing to updating firmware to syncing phones. I wish the suggested bundle of the car harness and mount also suggested i buy crimp caps for the wires. This delayed my install a few days. Also, there was no acknowledgement that the factory stereo would have 2 additional wire bundles that would remain unused. it seems one is for the installed subwoofer, which we now miss having, but i'm not feeling advanced enough to figure out how/if i can hook it in.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This Product is amazing, it lights up many different ways, boosts the quality of your speakers and sound systems, and its a beautiful design. Whether or not it comes to those who use pandora, or iheartradio, or Bluetooth, the system has a kick for everyone. The bluetooth works like it should, it isn't always instant, but it's worth the extra few seconds to connect it to your own phone, and jam out to your favorite tunes. The only thing I can say that I disliked about this product, is that you might need to splice wires together. I had to do it for a Saturn Ion 3. I'm not sure whether or not it changes based on the wiring harness your car has, but it took a good while to pull everything out and make sure all the wires are together. If you don't have Any idea what to do, I would try to grab a friend who's done it before, or a tech support. Also. Make Sure You Disconnect Your Battery, Just like it says for changing out any radio head unit. You might mess up the entire inner system of cables if you don't start with that, or possible elecrocute yourself.

Pros: Beautiful lights, action, and sound. Wonderful controls. Comes with a Remote, and also a Microphone. Well worth the price it is listed for.

Installed this unit in a 2012 Ford E250. Was a plug and play with the supplied install kit antenna adapter and wire harness adapter. Installation took about 20 minute. The unit sounds good and is easy to use. Bluetooth works very good with phone and music. (i phone)

Pros: Price and ease of installation and use.

Cons: Goofy colors. Had to turn all that crap off.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit is pretty much what I expected. It was very easy to install. Even considering that I had already cut the factory harness previously. It fit into my 2011 Yaris hatchback with ease. The sound quality is fine. The option in the advanced eq setting to tune the frequencies more accurately to your sound preference is a nice feature. The subwoofer controls are excellent. The bluetooth is easy to use and the mic quality is customizable. The Pandora controls are cool, but it can be annoying that you can only control pandora through the head unit. Note to those who just get it, read the manual. The controls are not intuitive, however, almost all of the answers are in the manual if you take a moment to skim through it.

Pros: Price, Bluetooth, Pandora controls, Excellent EQ, Excellent sub controls, Customizable display, Easy install.

Cons: Not intuitive, but easy enough.

The sound is much better than the OEM unit.

Pros: Good sound for the money. The BT mic sound quality is much better than the stock Mazda mic.

Cons: The AWSC-1 steering wheel control was suggested for this unit and does not support the phone buttons. The OEM mic was so noisy, this deck did fix that problem, but now I have to drain my phone battery by leaving voice control on, or initiate my calls while stopped. The controls are not intuitive and the multicolored disco flashing equalizer is just plain annoying. The USB will not play music stored on my USB 3.0 thumb drive without skipping all over the place.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I went back in time when I upgraded my (now my teenage daughter's) Honda CRV 2000. This is the kind of thing I always wanted to do in my youth, upgrade my audio on my old (at the time) Chevy beater. I watched several YouTube videos on pulling apart the CRV and these were invaluable. This was to be the hard part I figured and when I went to remove everything, I felt like an old pro that knew what he was doing. The KW-R910BT went in just fine, no issues. Almost too easy (as was the little assembly work needed before installation). My daughter's car now has a working clock (the Honda's went out), hands free bluetooth for her phone (she absolutely loves it) and -- oh yes -- a very nice sound system that pulls in radio fine and plays music from her phone apps (e.g. Spotify) easily. While she says it sounds much better, for me it sounds pretty much the same so I guess I'll have to upgrade the speakers also ;-).

Pros: Ease of assembly and installation; clock display when not playing music; hands free bluetooth for phone and music

Cons: Controls such as simply turning off audio is a bit unobvious - I keep changing sources instead of turning off the radio.

I've installed car radios since I was 16 and this is one of the coolest and easiest installs I've ever done. Using the wire harness for my vehicle made installation a breeze. Getting the wire harness, factory radio removal kit and bracket at no cost with the purchase of the radio is CLUTCH! I did the install in under an hour. Bluetooth works great! I can stream Pandora, iHeart, and anything else. iPod connection works great! Even making/receiving calls via bluetooth is simple and clear. Very powerful system. Sounds much better than the factory radio.

Pros: Many customizations including display colors and sound options. Pairing bluetooth is simple. User profile for audio settings. You can set different color displays based upon night and day. Too many good things to list.

Cons: Menu is not as user friendly to navigate but it's not rocket science either. It takes some poking around to find what you need and figure out the settings you want. But don't let this con deter you from making this purchase. It's an awesome system!

Great value for the price. Easy to install with radio harness. Be sure to read installation instructions if you're going to use Bluetooth. Need to plug in microphone in back of unit BEFORE installation. Ooops. New radio jacks are easy to install.

Pros: Very easy to install. All the holes and harnesses lined up just fine. Nice, large display, very easy to read. Volume knob is right in the middle and easy to access.

Cons: The radio instructions are difficult to follow. The clock has an "adjustment" setting the turns back the time 30 minutes every once in a while, which I thought odd and had to call JVC to figure out. There is a 2 second delay when changing Sources (FM to AM to CD etc), not used to that, kind of annoying. Accessing the 7-12 presets on the FM bank is very difficult. Even called JVC and they had no good way to do it.

After being quoted up to $300 to remove and repair the factory system in my Toyota Highlander or spending at least $500 to replace it I looked into buying something new. This unit has exceeded my expectations. Once I learned how to adjust the sound quality it sounds every bit as good as the original unit. The features are great. The Bluetooth call feature works very well. way better than an earpiece. I'm loading up a 64gb flash drive with my entire music library to plug into the USB port. Why bother with plugging in the iPod or playing CDs? Installation was a breeze with You Tube help and Crutchfied instructions. Spent the money. Sorry local repair guy!

Pros: Multiple input options. Display visibility. Great sound plugged into the factory JBL Amp. Bluetooth phone features.

    Cons: Can't think of any.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Easy to install and use but lacks some important control. The audio quality is good except for the static I get on the FM radio of all things.. The BT input from my phone for some reason it at a much lower volume level than the radio so when switching from BT to radio I have to be very careful as the volume will BLAST and that part sucks. It is easy to install and use except there are actually way more features that I did not use that others may find a bit complicated to program.

Pros: Cool looking Deck. Sound other than radio static is pretty good. Lots of features..

Cons: No separate tone controls that are easy to use. You must program or use profiles. This makes it real hard to just tweak the sound for certain songs while listening. Not all input sources are created equal, so not having the ability to tweak the bass, mid, and treble on the fly is a bummer. STATIC with the FM radio unless the signal is very strong. I never had this issue with my factory radio. it is not a connection issue and the antenna is stock. Just a bit slow to respond to input commen

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Replaced base stereo in my Grand Caravan as I needed bluetooth and USB port options it didn't have. I've had JVC head units in 2 previous cars and have been impressed with the quality and durability. This fit pretty easily once I bent the metal tabs back behind where the stock unit sat. Metra harness didn't have a wire for dimmer though & I had to rig up an ignition power line as stock unit runs off CANBUS. Features for the money on this unit were great. Nice display with color options mean you can match whatever gauge or control colors you have if you want. Once you get used to the controls and menus it's pretty intuitive. Ipod touch plays nicely over bluetooth. WIndows & Android phones were easily synced up via bluetooth also, but couldn't get voice controls to work. Wish the unit would resume in pause/mute if turned off that way.

Pros: price, value, display colors and large control knob/button layout

Cons: Wish the clock could be displayed in more than one display option. Bluetooth mic isn't very small so it's hard to mount discreetly.

Radio on our 2006 Kia Sedona was dying, so we decided to upgrade to a stereo that is Bluetooth enabled. Purchased this stereo based on reviews, and am definitely not disappointed! Radio was easy to install, and sound quality is great. Also purchased the iDatalink Maestro adapter for steering wheel controls, and that works great as well. Definitely recommend this stereo for purchase. Only downside is that there are almost too many options/controls on it: with that being said, I may be a somewhat atypical purchaser of this stereo, as I don't need all the bells and whistles.

Cons: Stiff buttons. No grip on volume knob. Bluetooth takes a little while to link to Pandora app.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this JVC unit in my 2002 Ford F250 in just over an hour. As with anything with today's technology, there is a learning curve. I'll keep the unit manual in the center console for a bit. The sound quality is excellent. Even with the stock speakers, It sounds great. I have not experienced the unreadable display even in direct sunlight that other reviewers have. There is a bit of trimming of the stock Ford dash, but if you are careful, the stock unit can be put back in. Be warned that the Ford dash face has to be removed if you have a problem. It's an easy task though. Just make sure the unit works properly before you commit to locking it in place. I feel as I got my money's worth.

Pros: Great sound Nice appearance Good value

    Cons: Learning curve

    Works great

Works wonderful. 1. The menu is a bit intense as first, but its more user-friendly than I anticipated, based on the reviews. 2. I like the ability to customize the colors on the display. 3. I don't use the remote, so I cannot speak to its ease of use/functionality. 4. CDs read fine, and quickly. I have not tried an MP3 disc yet, so I can't speak to slow readtimes as reported by others. 5. I HAVE tried a USB, loaded with about 1GB worth of songs. It tried to play music and read the songs at the same time, so that was wierd for about 20 seconds, but then it self-corrected, and I love the ability to scroll through a gig worth of songs. 6. Blutooth connection with my phone works well. I'm not crazy with how the microphone sounds (included in my purchase), but the connection itself between my phone and the stereo is fine. All said, I am pleased with the value for the cost. As is their practice, the instructions provided to me by Crutchfield were key to an easy installation.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I chose to upgrade my entire sound system in my 2012 Sentra choosing this as my head unit... Love the features the external mic and Siri connection with my iPhone is great. The Bluetooth recognized my iPhone immediately. I listen mostly to pandora radio. The features are awesome , I'm still learning all the tricks this unit provides. Love the differnt zone changing light color. I'm running KENWOOD 6x9. 5 way in my front doors and KENWOOD 6x9 4 way in my rear deck. This puts out solid power. The KENWOOD's are amazing as well. The remote control is a great feature as well. Another happy consumer after Crutchfield has been a huge help in every aspect. Thank you.

This fit perfectly in my 2003 Hyundai as a replacement for the stock radio. Looks and sounds awesome. Bluetooth feature works great with my iPhone 6. Highly recommended.

Pros: iPhone/Bluetooth compatibility, Aux and USB front inputs, Rear preamp outs for add on amplifier (front & rear)

Cons: Wiring diagram information provided by Crutchfield was inaccurate. Customer service was very eager and quick to help. However, in the end, we agreed that no wiring information could be located that exactly matches the color and numbering configur
