JVC's KW-V100 DVD receiver combines an easy-to-read, variable-color display with control over the assortment of devices you can connect to it. The 6.1" touchscreen display enables you to quickly find the music you want and tweak it for the best possible sound. With an included DVD player, a USB input, and audio/video input, you've got a complete entertainment hub for short or long journeys. And since it's a member of the Arsenal Series, JVC backs up this receiver with a 2-year warranty.
JVC lets you enjoy your favorite Pandora® stations on the road. Just plug in your iPhone® and you have touchscreen control right in your dash, with artist and song info on the big display. And you'll enjoy the rest of your digital music too — plug your iPod® or iPhone into the USB input, and you can tap your way through all your tunes and playlists on this JVC's responsive touchscreen. If you're not an iPod user, you can load up a USB drive or a recordable disc with music files — it's easy to fit hundreds of tracks on either one, and you can still dive in using the touchscreen.
The AM/FM tuner includes the Radio Data System (RDS), so you get station info on the display. You can also take your radio experience to next step by adding the compatible satellite radio tuner, so you can get the latest news, talk, and music from your favorite SiriusXM stations anywhere you go.
You can use the front or rear audio/video inputs to hook up your favorite portable audio player, a camcorder, or another video source. The KW-V100 boasts an audio/video output to send movies to a rear video screen, so your passengers will stay happy during the longest road trips. If you've got a big vehicle, you'll appreciate the input for a rear-view camera — helpful for when you're maneuvering your vehicle in tight spaces.
Got an iPhone 4 or 4S? Using JVC's App Link Mode, you'll get basic control over audio apps like Tunein Radio, including functions like play/pause or track up/down. You can also view traffic info from Inrix, Cobra iRadar, and other driving apps on your phone. For powerful navigation, download the MotionX-GPS Drive app (subscription required) and you'll be able to see maps and live traffic reports on the receiver's screen. You'll still need to access your iPhone with this app, so consider adding an iPhone mount for easy use.
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (not included) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this JVC stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the JVC, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.
iPod/iPhone note: If you're going to use your iPod or iPhone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

Average Customer Review(s):
This is a great stereo for the price. It does almost everything I wanted. I mainly bought this for its ability to play music from a USB thumb drive, and I'm very pleased with it. Sound quality is great, even with my stock speakers. Crutchfield was great they sent me the wiring harness and the dash piece that fills the empty space around the screen, I just had to tell them what kind of car I drove and they knew what parts to send me. I was a bit worried about making a mistake connecting the stereo wiring to the harness adaptor, but that was easy. Well, I did make a mistake, but customer service was very helpful. Let me tell you my mistake so hopefully you won't do the same: When connecting the two wiring harnesses, I connected the Power Antenna / Amplifier Remote (blue) wire on the car side to the other blue wire stereo side (I believe it had a tag on it that said "power antenna") when I should have connected blue to blue with white stripe ("Power Remote", stereo side harness). I was thinking "I'm not gonna use the remote control, so I don't need to hook up power remote, I'll be sitting right next to the stereo at all times." I also thought power antenna meant power for the antenna, but a power antenna is one that pops out when you turn on the radio. Theres no Bluetooth, not a con for me since I don't make many calls
Pros: * You can shuffle music, theres two different modes, shuffle in a specific folder, or shuffle through all folders. Or you can play songs in order * Load up a USB drive with songs * Customizable display colors, any color * Screen can be set to dim when the headlights turn on
Cons: * Graphics look dated, can look like a cheap web page * Small touchscreen buttons, difficult when driving * USB takes about 30 seconds to start playing music * Some font colors can't be changed * I don't think playlists are supported, so you have to use folders, but if you want one song in two places, you have to put it on the usb twice
This unit is a great value. Mid-Road pricing and excellent features for the price. Nice sound and ease of use.
Pros: Easy Install. Good quality.
Cons: Came with a new chime unit. Louder than the original and different tone.
Great value. Great radio.
Pros: Easy to use. Set up is Very easy. Install was Not hard.
Cons: If I had to make any type of complaint, wish it had knob to change the channel so you don't have to look down at the radio.
couldn't ask for better
Great stereo for the money!
All in all the unit is mostly what i expected for the money. i got what i paid for. it is a middle of the road unit, which is what i wanted.
Pros: Screen and Features
Cons: can't really think of any, but i'm still learning about all the features on this unit
I'd give this unit five stars if it knew what I wanted to listen to without my input. But seriously, this is an outstanding unit. I had ordered a Pioneer unit with similar features and encountered several problems. Ended up replacing the Pioneer with this one and couldn't be happier. It has a good selection of options for tweaking your sound, more so than the Pioneer at least. Sound is great on door speakers without need for an external amp. It's driving four Focal 6x8 speakers in my truck. Unit has quick response to input from touch screen and remote. Remote has nice large buttons for volume and folder/track navigation, which are the buttons I primarily use while driving. Unit displays album art for all of my MP3 files with no issues and doesn't cut out some of the text (album, artist, title) like the Pioneer did. 4V preamp outputs are great for my external sub amp. They'd be even more beneficial with an amp used for higher frequencies. This is a head unit for someone who appreciates the technical abilities of an electronic device over eye candy, although the graphical display is pretty darn good. I've been converted to JVC, at least for head units. Great piece of hardware.
Pros: Great sound, plenty of power for aftermarket door speakers, remote has nice feel to it, plenty of sound-tweaking abilities, text is legible while still being small enough to show most of the MP3 information, no problems displaying embedded album art with MP3 files, 4V preamp output!
Cons: Can't read my mind for music selection, super pleased with my first JVC head unit
Overall great product, it looks great- the ability to change the background and button colors to essentially any color is definitely a pro. Only downfall this has is no Bluetooth. I don't understand how it has so many features and they couldn't just throw Bluetooth in there.
Pros: Appearance, sound quality
Cons: No bluetooth
I'm returning my unit, no Bluetooth capability, so I might as well go for another unit that is cheaper and has no Bluetooth capability as well. With so many specs to look at the Bluetooth must've slipped past me but looking at the unit, you would think it would be included, even has optional Pandora capability and SiriusXM capable after all. The volume knob is not "knobby" enough for me, it's tiny and hard to grip it with my fingers. The plastic Metra trim panel adapter kit that came with it went into the garbage can after 3 hours of trying to re-engineer it to fit my 2003 Honda Odyssey, the instructions from Metra are useless, the drawings are a blur, I ended up using the factory steel brackets, just had to put the 1/4 inch grinding disc to it to shape it so it would fit, installation was a nightmare, so it doubled my disappointment when all that hard work was for nothing. Build quality is pretty much the same as any unit in this price range. Sound quality was extremely good coming out of my factory paper speakers. I can get a JVC KW-V11 with same features, minus the sat radio that I don't care about and cheaper.
Pros: Great sound.
Cons: No Bluetooth capability. USB port is on the back.
Exactly what I ordered fast shipping
Pros: Illumination is really good matches my interior lights perfectly and fits my 2002 Pontiac grand am gt perfectly
Cons: It made my speakers sound terrible they did sound really good until I put the head unit in
Great head unit that puts out fantastic sound. I can't speak much for the internal power of the head unit due to running a 5 channel amp but the advanced equalizer and crossovers help provide the perfect sound. You can ground the parking brake wire to the chassis of this unit to provide video while driving so the passengers can enjoy a DVD. I would recommend. Little tough to navigate at first, but after a week you will catch on.
Pros: Looks cool Great sound Fine tuning ability Bright
Cons: No trim ring I wish the screen came with a tempered glass protector.
Overall Great Stereo! In my 13 2500hd Silverado
Pros: Easy Install, Plenty of wiring, and great looks in my truck. Self installed with no issues at all!
Cons: Cant figure out how to make certain functions work but easily fixed by reading the manual. Also has no bluetooth.
My first experience with Crutchfield was all good
Pros: Good experience from start to finish ! Very nice product.
Still playing with all the settings, user manual is in depth, will take time to get through it. Has great sound, tons of presets and memory.
Pros: well constructed head unit,
Cons: USB out needs to be about 12 inches longer, had to get extension and now have 4 feet too much ! Equalizer adjusts each set of frequency , not individually. Being said, if you adjust 1 freq, it adjusts the corresponding freqs at the same rate. Not a big negative, as it tries to keep your adjustments in " harmony" not overpowering 1 designated level.
Great sound, easy to use, very cool
Pros: Easy to install
I recieved my order earlier than I expected, easy to install, awesome customer service, who else does no shipping?!?!? Nobody! I will always order from here!
Pros: Easy to install, came with a remote, I love that I can change the color and make whatever color I want a different shade!
Awesome stereo! Good quality stereo without the huge price. I replaced my factory stereo on my honda odyssey and this Kenwood brought out better sound. I actually love listening to my radio now. Plus it is up to date with technology like iPod comparability, USB and more. The installation was a breeze!
Pros: Easy installation, price and good sound quality.

Camera In: The rear-panel Camera input consists of a composite video connector which allows you to connect an optional rear-view camera (105KVCM20, sold separately). The unit features a reverse gear signal wire, that when connected to your vehicle's reverse light circuit, will automatically switch the KW-V100's display to the rear-view camera input. Automatic video switching takes approximately 1.25 seconds. Audio from your music source will continue playing, while the back-up camera is displayed.
A/V Output (with Dual Zone): The unit features a rear-panel composite video jack and 3.5mm audio jack to output A/V signals to an optional monitor and headphone system in the rear of your vehicle. You can select Disc, USB, iPod or AV-IN as the rear-panel source; or your can simply have the rear AV output mirror the head unit's selected front source. The volume of the A/V output will be controlled by your rear entertainment system. You can select between a 16:9, 4:3 LB, or 4:3 PS Aspect Ratio for the unit's video output to match your connected monitor.
Note: With Disc, USB, or iPod selected as your front source; you can only select AV-IN, AV Off, or the source playing in the front as your vehicle's rear source. You also cannot select Disc, USB, or iPod as the rear source if your front source is Apps or Pandora.
Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input wire (blue/yellow) within the included wiring harness that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to see if your vehicle is compatible.
IR Remote: The JVC KW-V100 includes an IR remote control for wireless operation of the DVD receiver and connected devices (such as iPod/iPhone and USB).

Not sure. I never connected using a USB drive only phones both android and iPhone and successfully played music stored on both phones as well as streaming services. One thing I can confirm seen in other reviews is that the display is difficult to see in sunlight. [ Lisa Nov 24, 2015 ]
It's compatible with iPods, so it should work with m4a files. However, when my wife connected her iPod to it, it recognized an iPod was connected, but didn't see any music. Also, when I connect my thumb drive with close to 100GB of music on it, it only recognizes a few songs. I let it sit for an hour to see if it maybe had to index them and still nothing. But... if you just plug in your device through the AUX port and use a headphone cable it plays it just fine. [ Zephyr Nov 24, 2015 ]
