Bluetooth lets you concentrate on driving

Bluetooth gives you hands-free calling convenience, plus a wireless connection to the songs stored on your compatible music player. If you're an Android® user, you've probably had issues with pairing up your phone in the past. You'll really appreciate this receiver's simple, secure pairing (SSP) technology, which eliminates the pain of pin codes. JVC includes an external Bluetooth microphone which you can place in a good spot in your vehicle for better hands-free communication.

Got an iPhone® with Siri? The KW-V20BT supports Siri Eyes Free through Bluetooth, which means you can ask Siri to make calls, select and play music, compose and hear text messages, read notifications, even use maps and get directions — all commanded by your voice through the receiver. This convenient feature can make your drive safer and more productive.

Options for music

If you enjoy Internet radio on your iPhone, Android, or Blackberry®, you'll really enjoy playing music from Pandora® on this great-sounding receiver. You can scroll through your stations, bookmark songs, and give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down right from the receiver's face. Use the Pandora app on your smartphone along with Bluetooth to stream music on your Android or Blackberry. If you have an iPhone, you'll need to connect it to the USB input on the JVC to control Pandora.

The AM/FM tuner includes the Radio Data System (RDS), so you get artist, song, and station info on the display. You can also take your radio experience to next step by adding the compatible SiriusXM tuner, so you can get your the latest news, talk, and music from your favorite satellite radio stations wherever you are.

Video on the go

Use the front or rear audio/video inputs to hook up your favorite portable audio player, a camcorder, or another video source. This receiver boasts an audio/video output to send movies to a rear video screen, so your passengers will stay happy during the longest road trips. If you've got a big vehicle, you'll appreciate the input for a rear-view camera — helpful for when you're maneuvering your vehicle in tight spaces.

Apps on the go for iPhone 4 and 4S

Using JVC's App Link Mode with your iPhone 4 or 4S, you'll get basic control over audio apps like Tunein Radio, including functions like play/pause or track up/down. You can also view traffic info from Inrix, Cobra iRadar, and other driving apps on your receiver's screen. For powerful navigation, download the MotionX-GPS Drive app (subscription required) and you'll be able to see maps and live traffic reports on the JVC. You'll still need to access your iPhone with this app, so consider adding an iPhone mount for easy use.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (not included) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this JVC car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the JVC, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

    Best in it's class!

Jeremy from Evansville, Indiana on 10/10/2017

All in all, a great stereo! With Bluetooth, local stations with 18 presets, auxiliary jack in the front, plus having the USB hookup; you'll never run out of music! Then with the subwoofer outputs, the user friendly crossover settings and a basic to pro modes of EQ adjustments, the sound will be divine! Installed 2-15" subs and it sounds downright delicious! The EQ is set up for highs only to the front. High to mid in the rear. And bass to the subs. You can turn it up to 35 and still hear clear music! You'll love your music again. Trust me, I've dealt with many stereos, this is tops in it's price range!

Pros: All controls are simple. From adjusting the colors of the lights and background, to adjusting the sound that comes from your stereo all around. Screen is clear, brightness is adjustable, love that! Plays DVDs, CDs, aux cable, Bluetooth and USB input cable. Never run out of music.

    Cons: GPS only uses iPhone.

    looks and works great I 2004 f250

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed in a 2004 f250 pretty easy. The dongle and install kit Crutchfield provided was spot on. I got an inexpensive backup camera from Amazon and that works great as well. Bluetooth was easy to link to my Samsung note4 and my wife's iPhone 5. My unit came with most recent firmware so I did not have to flash it. Overall I would buy this JVC again in a heartbeat.

Pros: Looks great, volume knob vs buttons, backup camera, DVD playback safely with parking brake on (rumor has it that if you ground the wire it plays all the time ... wink wink), usb input for easy access to tons of mp3.

Cons: If you want to use an image with a lot of light colors it's hard to see the radio station numbers.

    Very Pleased, would buy again.

    2012 Chrysler 200
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a solid all around unit. It has good Bluetooth, not a single drop, spit, or stutter yet. That was one of my biggest concerns and this unit has blown that away. It looks great and feels good to touch. Its 99% easy to navigate with only things like settings, firmware upgrades, and setup being ANY issue at all (and they are minor for anything who is use to setting a DVR to record a TV show), but all of the normal features, like selecting your music, are as easy as possible. It doesn't have anything that sets itself apart from others to be "cool" but it most certainly looks better than the stock head unit. One point of notice, it works VERY well with my Nokia Lumia 925 (running Windows Phone 8.1). My only complaints are the volume scaling, its not very gradual and quickly becomes too loud and distorted. But it is something I do think I will get use to once I get the EQ scaled a little bit. My last complaint is the user interface isn't immediately snappy. Kind of reminds me of a older Android phone that actually processed the data quickly but for whatever reason had that bit of noticeable lag after you pressed something. I would for sure buy it again. (I have a 2012 Chrysler 200 and it did take some pretty hefty modifications to fit, the unit sets about 1/8 of a inch too high for the dash opening. Lucky the bracket on the car holding it that high was plastic and I was able to just take about 30 minutes or so and shave it down.

Pros: Feature packed, and everything actually works. Easy instructions Factory steering wheel controls were compatible. Looks great No glaring defects. Plays well with Windows Phone. Cortina works perfectly.

Cons: Slightly laggy interface (no worse than any other head unit really) Volume isn't gradual.

    2008 GMC Yukon
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This stereo has some nice features for the price, but thats about it. Menus are not ergonomic and touch display buttons are small and could be bigger to aid adjusting radio stations, etc during travel Blue tooth function is spotty at best. I have to constantly manually connect when I get in the vehicle and there are multiple ways to connect to BT, the most obvious way does not function with my iPhone 5s. I sometimes have to make a phone call and disconnect to get the BT audio streaming to work. The hands free BT functions okay, the caller sounds good but the person on the other end sometimes says you sound as if you're in a tunnel The display/button color change is great, but the clock color on the system is a dark emerald green and hard to see in any light. I've been unable to find a way to adjust the display color of the clock. Sound quality is poor. I've messed with all the preset EQ settings and settled on a custom setup. I do like the EQ function, but even after all that, the sound lacks in the mid to lows and distorts at volumes lower than my stock radio. In fact, the stock radio had fuller and louder sound when it was functioning. I'm using the rear view camera that JVC offers as an accessory, in my yukon, the cables provided were about 1foot short to reach the rear of the vehicle & I had to splice the wire myself, but the back up camera functions nicely If I hadn't recycled the box, I would try and exchange it for something else.

Pros: Good looking unit, Custom button color, back up camera

Cons: Sound quality, Ease of use, Clock unreadable, BT audio streaming

    OK but with flaws

    Silki from Cincinnati.Ohio on 11/2/2014

This unit is great for replacing a factory stereo. It has great sound great features and looks really nice but there is one issue I found with this unit. The manual states that it plays mpeg1, mpeg2 and wmv movies via usb memor stick, This is not true, I used a memory stick and it did read jpeg images but it does not read mpeg or wmv.

Pros: Nice looking, great quality, easy to install, great sound, blue tooth setup

Cons: will not play mpeg or wmv movies via usb memory stick. No app integration for android smart phones. does not play mp4 movies.

Crutchfield response on 11/26/2014 According to our contact at JVC, the stereo is supposed to play MPEG1 and MPEG2 video, but not WMV video. We've shared your review with them, so they're aware of the situation. We have not yet tested it for ourselves.

Such an awesome unit. Easy to install, just follow the colors! Would definitely recommend this.

Pros: Very easy layout. Instructions were spot on. Bluetooth works like a charm and made the sound in my car infinitely better than the RF cable I was using.

Cons: Perhaps too many wires, but you can't really help that. Still trying to figure out the DVD and USB connections.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Easy to install. Installed it in to my Chevy Silverado by myself and I'm not a wise when it comes to wiring either. The directions could of been a little clearer. Other then that it gave my truck a wow factor and I'm pretty sure I did not get out for two days after I installed it. The radio is so nice because it is touch screen and hands free too. I can control everything through my iPhone.

Pros: Easy to install. Easy to use touch screen. Apps work very nice. Made my truck speakers louder.

Cons: Not all the apps work with the iPhone 6.

    Easy install with great quality

This was my first ever purchase from Crutchfield, but I can truly say they have gained a long term customer. The product came just as they said, with all instructions and how to guide. Love it to death and my son loves the dvd player.

    Pros: Great quality from JVC

    Cons: None

    Sharp screen, intuitive interface

Philippe B from Carmel, IN on 9/29/2014

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was looking for a new radio with Bluetooth, Sirius XM connectivity and a way to connect my iPhone 5S and use somme of its apps like Waze. This JVC WT-V20BT unit does most of it except the USB connection and the Apps part. I can use Bluetooth to connect my iPhone and use it for calls or to play songs but despite the "build for iPhone and iPod", it is not clear on the box and description that this model has Apps and USB connectivity with iPhones but ONLY doe iPhone 4/4S and older.... Not for iPhone 5, 5C and 5S and presumably not for iPhone 6. Besides that aspect, I am happy with this unit. Easy to mount and connect, very sharp screen, intuitive (did not have to read the manual to figure it out) and very good sound. Loves also the flexibility in changing colors, displays, etc. Bluetooth set up very easy as well.

Pros: Sharp Screen Intuitive Interface Great Sound Easy Bluetooth set up / Connection Fantastic choices and customization of screen background, colors, etc Very good for the price

Cons: Apps function not compatible with iPhone 5, 5C and 5 S - only iPhone 4 / 4S and older version USB and optional KS-U59 cable allows connectivity but NOT for iPhone 5, iPod 5th generation or iPod Nano 9th generation (earlier versions work)

    Awesome features and value!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased two of these units to add Bluetooth and multimedia capabilities to outdated factory units. JVC has really done a great job with features and integration with a Bluetooth cell phone. However, it would be nice if there was a way to use the feature of apps with Android. Unfortunately, you must have an Apple IPhone or IPod to use apps integration to the touchscreen. Not at all a decision changer for me, but at least I have Pandora integration for my Android phone. Sound quality is excellent and phone conversations using the included wired microphone are clear and noise free. I have only used this unit for about a week and am in love with it already. If you are on the fence about purchasing this and don't mind being without the apps feature for Android, do yourself a favor and go for it! You will not be disappointed!

Pros: Great sound quality, easy to set up Bluetooth connectivity, customizing of colors, cool looks.

Cons: No application integration feature for Android phones.

Pros: Easy to use, set up, and well designed.

This is a good radio for the price! installed fairly easily with only minor adjustments needed.Would have like more interoperability with my Android phone.

Pros: It went in with out a hitch. I was able to prewire the steering wheel adapter & wiring harness before doing anything with the car then it was just plug in the adaptor harness directly into the existing wiring. Everything on the steering wheel worked as it should. :)

Cons: The input levels are substantially lower than the radio, the text is to small while in radio mode and the time is barely visible with no way to change its color to make it more visible. Limited operability with Android.

This Bluetooth DVD receiver is a great deal. I have a 2008 Ford F250 and it went in with no problems. You obviously have to have an install kit, and that went in easily as well. It has all the features you need minus GPS, but I got this unit because it was $300 cheaper than a GPS unit. Great for those long trips, just throw in a DVD and go. It makes my dash more complete with this unit installed.

Pros: Screen size, sound quality, display, features.

Cons: The only con I have with this unit is that it won't do the maps app on my iPhone 5S.

    • Gesture Control: Gesture Control lets you operate certain functions of the KW-V20BT by making specific gesture commands on the unit's touchscreen. You can adjust the volume of the multimedia receiver by making a circular motion with your finger on the unit's touchscreen. You'll also be able to navigate your music by simply swiping the touchscreen left/right or up/down.
    • Hard-Key Controls: In addition to the head unit's touchscreen monitor, the KW-V20BT features hard-key controls along the left edge of the screen. The unit includes a 3-way rotary dial for Volume (up/down) control and push-button controls for Power, Menu, Display, and Phone functions.
Note: There are ten options for the menu language including English, French, Spanish, and seven others.

Variable Color Illumination: You can change the color of  background, text, touchscreen buttons, and hard-key buttons. The color of the background, text, and buttons can be changed independently from one another.

    • Background: The unit's background color can be changed to one of eight preset colors - blue, light blue, red, green, yellow, orange, violet, or white. You can also create a custom color using a combination (0-31) of red, green, and blue. While playing a video or JPEG file, you can capture an image and use the captured image as your background. When using a JPEG file as the background, make sure that the resolution is 800 x 600 pixels. The color of the captured image may look different from that of the actual scene. You cannot capture copyrighted content and images from the iPod/iPhone.
    • Text: The unit's onscreen text can be changed to one of seven preset colors - blue, red, green, yellow, orange, violet, or white. You can also create a custom color using a combination (0-31) of red, green, and blue.
    • Buttons: The unit's touchscreen and hard-key button color can be changed to one of eight preset colors - blue, light blue, red, green, yellow, orange, violet, or white. You can also choose to have the unit constantly scroll through all eight preset color. In addition, you can create a custom color using a combination (0-31) of red, green, and blue.

Note: You can save separate color settings for Daytime and Nighttime driving.

Aspect Ratio & Picture Adjustment: You can adjust the brightness and black level of the unit's onscreen display. You can also adjust the contrast, color, tint, and detail level during video playback. The adjustment level for each setting is -15 to +15. You can also choose from four aspect modes for the in-dash display:

    • Regular: For 4:3 source material, 4:3 and 16:9 pictures display with black bars on either side (16:9 images are compressed).
    • Full: Expands 4:3 pictures horizontally to fill the entire width of the screen, distorting the picture slightly but retaining full image height.
    • Panorama: For viewing 4:3 pictures naturally on the unit's wide-screen display.
    • Auto: The correct aspect mode is automatically chosen based on the incoming signal.

Adjustable Dimmer: When the illumination lead (orange/white) is connected and the dimmer set to Auto, the display will dim automatically when you turn on your vehicle's lights. The dimmer can also be set to Off (normal brightness at all times), On (display is always dimmed), or Dimmer Time Set (you program the time for the dimmer to turn off an on).

Clock Display: The DVD receiver offers a 12-hour clock which is visible from any source or menu screen. With your vehicle's key in the accessory or start position, the head unit will continue to display the LCD background image, clock, and button illumination during "AV Off" mode. Pressing and holding the source button turns the unit off completely.

Parking Brake Detection: To prevent the display of video while the vehicle is in motion, the light green wire (attached to rear-chassis) must be connected to the vehicle's parking brake detection circuit. You cannot view video unless your vehicle's parking brake is engaged. If you attempt to view video without the parking brake engaged, the unit's LCD touchscreen will simply display "Parking Off". While your vehicle is in motion (parking brake off), you can still view all of the head unit's menu screens/settings, source information, metadata, and album artwork.

2-DIN Chassis: The JVC KW-V20BT has a 2-DIN chassis (also known as "Double-DIN"), and will fit in many vehicles with a large dash opening. The unit can be ISO-mounted using factory brackets. There is no mounting sleeve included for a Euro- or Custom-mount installation. As always, please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to verify fit with your vehicle.

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology: The JVC KW-V20BT is equipped with built-in Bluetooth (2.1+EDR) allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP 1.5 (Hands Free Profile), OPP 1.1 (Object Push Profile), PBAB 1.0 (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP 1.2 (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP 1.3 (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the JVC KW-V20BT. See JVC's Bluetooth compatibility chart for a complete list of compatible Bluetooth enabled devices.

SPP (Secure Simple Pairing): With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the JVC KW-V20BT without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings. When a registered Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units. You can register up to five Bluetooth-enabled devices with the JVC head unit (only one paired phone can be used at a time).

Bluetooth Hands-Free Communication: The head unit supports Bluetooth hands-free communication for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The touchscreen controls of the KW-V20BT can be used to dial a number, answer an in-coming call, or end a call. The unit also includes an external microphone (featuring adjustable gain), so you can carry on your side of the conversation while listening to the caller through your vehicles speakers (All or Front only). During a conversation, you can switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode.

    • Answering a Call: When a call comes in, a ring-tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker and the caller's name or phone number will be displayed. You can answer the call from the head unit's touchscreen, or setup the head unit to automatically answer the incoming call immediately in 5 seconds. The KW-V20BT also supports the Call Waiting function, so you can answer another incoming call while suspending the current call you are on. Your compatible cell-phone must also support this feature.
    • Dialing a Number: Using the KW-V20BT, you can dial a phone number in one of the following ways:
      • Entering a Phone Number: Allows you to directly dial a phone number up to 32 digits from the head unit's touchscreen.

Up to 5,000 numbers can be stored for each registered cell phone. Each number can be up to 32 digits long and each name can be up to 50 characters long. You can search the phone book alphabetically (A-Z).

      • Voice Dialing: If your mobile phone supports voice recognition, then you can dial out by voice command. Simply speak into the included microphone.
Note: This unit allows you to answer a call or dial out using any option without engaging the parking brake.

External Microphone: The JVC KW-V20BT includes an external microphone to carry on your side of your phone conversation and voice command dialing. The external wired microphone offers improved audio quality versus an integrated microphone, so you can be heard easier over noisy traffic and road noise. You can adjust the volume level and noise cancellation of the microphone without affecting the other sources. The external microphone features an attached 10' cable terminated by a right-angle 3.5mm connector which plugs into the mic input on the rear-panel of the head unit. The microphone offers an integrated mounting bracket which can be clipped to your vehicle's sun-visor or taped to your dash. The external microphone measures 0.525" (diameter) x 1.505" (depth).

SMS: If your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone is compatible with SMS (Short Message Service), the JVC head unit will notify you when a message has been received. You must then use your phone to check the message. You cannot read, edit, or send a message through this unit.

Wireless Audio Streaming (w/ Metadata Display): The JVC KW-V20BT also supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. The KW-V20BT will be able to control basic playback functions of your Bluetooth device's stored music; such as Play/Pause, Skip Next/Previous, Fast Forward/Rewind and Random/Repeat. Simply press the touchscreen "voice command" icon on the Bluetooth Phone screen to engage Siri and use the included microphone to communicate with Siri. Note: You can ask Siri to get directions to a destination and the turn-by-turn instructions will heard through your vehicle's speakers, while the on-screen map still displays on your iPhone with Siri. The head unit's audio is attenuated while Siri provides audible directions.

    Audio Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The JVC KW-V20BT utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality with Signal to Noise ratio up to 99dB.

MOSFET Amplifier: The KW-V20BT is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. The power output specs for the KW-V20BT are as follows:

    • Full Bandwidth Power: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels (200 total watts)
Note: When you are using the KW-V20BT with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to low, the volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 30 (maximum). When using speakers rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to high, and the volume control will range from 0 to 50. The internal amp can also be turned off when all the speakers are powered by outboard amplifiers.

6ch/4V Preamp Outputs + Sub Control: The KW-V20BT is equipped with 6ch/4.0V preamp outputs (Front, Rear, Subwoofer). The front and rear preamp outputs allow fader control, while the subwoofer preamp output is non-fading.  You can adjust the KW-V20BT's subwoofer output level (-50 to +10) independently from the head unit's main volume control for added bass volume. You can also adjust the phase of the subwoofer output between 180-degrees (Reverse) or 0-degrees (Normal).

Built-in Crossovers: The JVC KW-V20BT features a built-in high-pass filter for the unit's front & rear speakers, and a low-pass filter for the unit's subwoofer output.

    • High-Pass Filter: You can activate a variable high-pass filter (40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 150, 180, 220 Hz or Through) for the unit's front & rear channels (speaker- or preamp-level), so low frequency signals are cut off from your system's front & rear speakers. The front & rear channel's high-pass filters can be set independently of one another.
    • Low-Pass Filter: The unit's subwoofer preamp output features a low-pass filter. In order to prevent high-frequencies from being sent to your system's subwoofers, you can set the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter to 50, 60, 80, 100, 120 Hz or Through.

Speaker Select: You can select which type & size of speaker you have connected to the head unit. Choose from Standard (OEM/Factory), Narrow (4"/5"), Middle (6"/5x7"/6x8"), Wide (6x9").

Pro EQ: The KW-V20BT is equipped with JVC's Pro EQ. The integrated equalizer offers 8 preset sound modes (Flat, Natural, Dynamic, Vocal Boost, Bass Boost, Vibrant, and User) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The User mode allows you to manually adjust the head unit's 3-band parametric EQ (Frequency, Level, and Q-Factor).

    Frequency Level Q
    Bass 60, 80, 100, 150 Hz +/- 10 dB (-5 to +5) 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 2.0
    Midrange 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 kHz +/- 10 dB (-5 to +5) 1.0, 2.0
    Treble 10.0, 12.5, 15.0, 17.5 kHz +/- 10 dB (-5 to +5) Fixed

Sound Extras: The head unit provides further sound enhancements for your car audio system.

    • Loud (Loudness): This feature boosts low and high frequencies to produce a well-balanced sound at a low volume level. You can set the Loudness to On or Off.
    • Dynamic Range Compression: This function reduces a Dolby Digital soundtrack's dynamic range so you can hear quieter dialog without being overwhelmed by loud sections. You can choose a setting of On (reduced dynamic range), Dialogue (clearer movie dialogue), or Off (full dynamic range).
    • Volume Adjust: The input level of each source (other than FM) is adjustable relative to the FM radio volume, so there isn't a significant volume difference when changing sources. Each source is individually adjustable from -15 to +6.

Key-Touch Tone: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

    AV Connections

Dual Inputs: The JVC KW-V20BT DVD receiver is fitted with a front-panel 3.5mm audio-only input for connecting a temporary external audio source, portable game system or MP3 player. The head unit also features a rear-panel 3.5mm AV input for connecting a permanent external A/V source, such as a Blu-ray player, gaming console, or mobile ATSC tuner. The rear-panel audio/video input can be set to one of the following modes:

    • AV IN: Choose when connecting an A/V component like a game system or Blu-ray player.
    • iPod: Select when connecting your iPod/iPhone using JVC's proprietary KS-U59 iPod video cable (sold separately).

Camera In: The rear-panel Camera input consists of a composite video connector which allows you to connect an optional rear-view camera (105KVCM20, sold separately). The unit features a reverse gear signal wire, that when connected to your vehicle's reverse light circuit, will automatically switch the KW-V20BT's display to the rear-view camera input. Automatic video switching takes approximately 1.25 seconds. Audio from your music source will continue playing, while the back-up camera is displayed.

A/V Output (with Dual Zone): The unit features a rear-panel composite video jack and 3.5mm audio jack to output A/V signals to an optional monitor and headphone system in the rear of your vehicle. You can select Disc, USB, iPod or AV-IN as the rear-panel source; or your can simply have the rear AV output mirror the head unit's selected front source. The volume of the A/V output will be controlled by your rear entertainment system. You can select between a 16:9, 4:3 LB, or 4:3 PS Aspect Ratio for the unit's video output to match your connected monitor.

Note: With Disc, USB, or iPod selected as your front source; you can only select AV-IN, AV Off, or the source playing in the front as your vehicle's rear source. You also cannot select Disc, USB, or iPod as the rear source if your front source is Apps or Pandora.

    Remote Control

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input wire (blue/yellow) within the included wiring harness that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to see if your vehicle is compatible.

Optional Wireless Remote: The JVC KW-V20BT is wireless remote controller ready and supports the JVC RM-RK252P IR wireless remote control (sold separately)

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you. [ Krissy  Nov 24, 2014 ]  Staff
No navigation app on the device itself, only through smart phone, and more importantly, that part is only accessible via an iphone. I have a galaxy, which it synchs with for Pandora and Bluetooth, but won't allow app synch like it does with an apple. [ Kevin  Nov 12, 2014 ]
Peter, I'm not quite for sure yet. I have it installed, but got as far as programming my Bluetooth to listen to my songs from my phone. I'm working on installing my back up camera next. Sorry I wasn't much help. [ Steven S.  Nov 11, 2014 ]
Good question. I am not sure if there is an add on for the Nav. I had intended on using it with my bluetooth/smart Phone. Unfortunately, I found out that function does not work with the new Iphone on that unit. The tech support people at Crutchfield have been very helpful. I do wish I had the head unit that had a full Nav operation or add on. Trying to do it through your phone is not always convenient. If you have a call come in, it cuts off your Nav view. It really depends how often you plan to use the Nav functions. Hope that helps. Scott [ Scott  Nov 10, 2014 ]
The gps is used from your phone to the screen through a USB plug. It's only compatible with the iPhone 4. The USB plug plug isa special type. Sold seperate. [ Collin W.  Nov 10, 2014 ]
I purchase this radio a while ago and I love it. But there is no navigation with it through your radio. But your phone can connect through Bluetooth and also have a nother device connected as a media devise at the same time. [ Zachary  Nov 10, 2014 ]
You need to make sure it is encoded in .avi format. It works like a charm. Hope that helps. [ Todd  Nov 08, 2014 ]
    Haven't tried it,sorry [ GREGORY L  Nov 04, 2014 ]

The unit WILL automatically show the back up camera on the screen when the vehicle is shifted in reverse and when shifted out of reverse the unit returns to normal. It also has an option (if 12v power on your camera is wired to an acc power source instead of the reverse light circuit) to switch it on manually when vehicle is not in reverse. I wired mine so it comes on automatically when in reverse and I can also switch it on manually when not in reverse. [ MARK R  Aug 15, 2014 ]
    Automatically. [ CARLOS  Aug 13, 2014 ]
Automatic, it gets an input from the gear shift [ JEFFERY H  Aug 11, 2014 ]
Yes it will as long as you wire it correctly. [ MICHAEL  Aug 11, 2014 ]
The unit will switch to camera view automatically once it gets a power signal. According to the instructions, the power signal would come from the reverse wire in the factory harness. You can, of course wire the power signal to any compatible source. I like being able to switch to the rear camera sometimes when I'm not in reverse, like if I am pulling a trailer. So I used the parking light wire from the harness. So now, anytime I switch on the parking or headlights (same switch), the unit switches to the camera input. [ BHASKAR  Aug 10, 2014 ]
Camera automatically comes on but you can use it manually too [ NICHOLAS  Aug 10, 2014 ]

It can be changed by setting your wallpaper [ JEFFERY H  Jun 03, 2014 ]
This is a default background picture and you can change it to anything either by USB or from capture picture on a DVD hope this helps [ Phillip  Jun 03, 2014 ]
If I'm right and we both are on the same page, that is just a wall paper the unit comes with, but you can load any image for a screensaver from a USB [ Mark  Jun 03, 2014 ]
Yes, the button color and background color can be changed separately. [ Jeffrey S.  Jun 03, 2014 ]
Yes the colors in th he display can be changed as well. As well it can be a different color when headlights are on as compared to when headlights are off. [ troy  Jun 03, 2014 ]

The lights around the dial, the line going down the left side, and also the background can be changed. As well. As the text color [ TYLER  Jun 03, 2014 ]
It is not built-in to the unit. It comes with a corded microphone that can be placed wherever you want after being plugged into the head unit. [ CHRISTOPHER  Apr 26, 2014 ]
There is a mic included. It has a decently long cable (approx 6ft.) that comes out of the back and has an adhesive back to stick it wherever suits your car. It is adjustable on two axis. I have mine stuck to the top corner of the windshield, it's fairly discrete and picks up my voice very well. [ Jeffrey S.  Apr 25, 2014 ]
Not built in but it comes with mic and cable to install with the radio [ Phillip  Apr 25, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: No. We do not have an adapter that will allow this radio to hook up to the factory Sirius Connection. You'll need the SXV200: If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  Apr 23, 2014 ]  Staff
Yes, it works perfect with the iphone 5 and Siri. I have the iphone 5, and holding the phone/talk button on the radio activates Siri just like using on the phone. [ JONATHAN CLARK  Apr 22, 2014 ]
Hi Tom, I'm not sure it's compatible with the iPhone 5 as we purchased the radio to use with an Android phone. [ MELISSA  Apr 22, 2014 ]
I have an iPhone 5S and have full functionality. [ PAUL  Apr 22, 2014 ]

I just installed this Awesome receiver over the weekend. No clock when display is turned off. Other than that it's Very ergo-friendly and easy to navigate through. [ STEVEN  Apr 09, 2014 ]
I do not think anything is displayed on the screen when powered off. I do know that you can turn off the display while listening to the music. [ BRIAN  Mar 28, 2014 ]
The clock shows on most screens in the top right corner [ Phillip  Mar 26, 2014 ]
The clock is only displayed when the unit is on. Every screen but the home screen and setting screens display the clock. [ PAUL  Mar 26, 2014 ]
No it does not. It's on in the right hand top corner the whole time. [ CHRISTY  Mar 26, 2014 ]
