JVC's KW-V30BT DVD receiver offers an eye-catching 6.1" variable-color touchscreen display, a built-in DVD/CD player, USB port, built-in Bluetooth®, and lots of settings you can tweak. But, you can take your driving experience to the next level by using its HDMI input to connect select smartphones and tablets and use a variety of apps on the go.

What you need

The KW-V30BT's HDMI input lets you enjoy access to many of the apps on your smartphone or tablet directly from the controls on the receiver. Here's the lowdown on what you need depending on your smartphone:

  • iPhone® 5, 5C, and 5S: You'll need to connect the Apple Lightning™ to USB cable and an HDMI cable (sold separately) to Apple's Lightning Digital AV adapter. Working with the iPhone 5's Bluetooth, you'll be able to mirror and control select apps on the KW-V30BT's touchscreen display.
  • iPhone 4 and 4S: Connect your iPhone 4 or 4S to the KW-V30BT's rear USB and analog audio/video input using the JVC KS-U59 cable, and you'll have access to JVC's App Link Mode.
  • Select MHL-enabled Android® phones: Once you download the JVC Control app on your phone, you'll connect your Android to the JVC receiver with an HDMI/MHL cable, such as the JVC KS-U61. After pairing your Android phone with this JVC, you'll get app control on the touchscreen display.

With your smartphone connected, you can enjoy select navigation, driver assistance, video, and music apps — all of which can be controlled on the KW-V30BT's display or by voice command.

Sound and vision

You can customize the KW-V30BT's touchscreen layout and set the display colors that best suit your dash. JVC's touch control lets you run your entertainment system with a few swipes to scroll through music folders, skip songs, and adjust the volume. JVC also included some easy-to-find button controls and a volume knob, so you can concentrate on the road.

Once you've got the music you want, you can tweak it with the built-in 3-band parametric equalizer. If you're adding amps, you'll appreciate the three sets of 4-volt preamp outputs for super-clean audio.

Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth gives you hands-free calling convenience, plus a wireless connection to the songs stored on your compatible music player. If you're an Android user, you'll really appreciate this receiver's Secure Simple Pairing (SSP) technology. JVC includes an external Bluetooth microphone which you can place in a good spot in your vehicle for superior hands-free communication.

And if you have an iPhone with Siri, the KW-V30BT supports Siri Eyes Free through Bluetooth, which means you can ask Siri to make calls, select and play music, compose and hear text messages, read notifications, even use maps and get directions — all commanded by your voice through the receiver. This convenient feature can make your drive safer and more productive.

Lots of ways to get music

If you enjoy Internet radio on your iPhone or Android, you'll really enjoy playing music from Pandora® and iHeartRadio® on this versatile receiver. You can scroll through your stations, bookmark songs, and give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down right from the receiver's face.

The AM/FM tuner includes the Radio Data System (RDS), so you get artist, song, and station info on the display. You can also take your radio experience to next step by adding the compatible SiriusXM tuner, so you can get the latest news, talk, and music from your favorite satellite radio stations wherever you drive.

Video on the go

Use the rear analog audio/video inputs to hook up your favorite portable audio player, a camcorder, or another video source. This receiver boasts an audio/video output to send movies to a rear video screen, so your passengers will stay happy during the longest road trips. And, the KW-V30BT's dual zone capability means the kids can watch a movie in the back with headphones while you listen to your favorite music up front. If you've got a big vehicle, you'll appreciate the input for a rear-view camera — helpful for when you're maneuvering your vehicle in tight spaces.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (not included) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this JVC DVD receiver. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the JVC, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

    2000 Mercury Mountaineer
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit has excellent sound, even with the original factory speakers. Installation was easy with the Crutchfield supplied tools and adapters. I was apprehensive about the cutting required on the sub-dash for installation on a 2000 Mountaineer. This turned out to be minor and easily accomplished with a rotary tool. The installed unit looks great. The supplied dash kit gives a a nicely finished look. The only warning is to know what the original factory wiring harness is. In my case the one in the vehicle is not the one normal used.

Pros: The unit looks good, and has great sound. Installation was easier than anticipated.

Cons: Operation is not intuitive and required me at least to study the manual in some detail.

Value prop is great as I paid a bargain price...

Seatown88 from seattle, WA on 1/23/2016

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the price I paid it is hard to complain...but I will...GUI is really pretty bad and confusing. Odd choices to make somethings very large, and other super small and very hard to see. The iphone integration via the HMDI cable was the reason I bought it, and it is really pathetic what you can actually do with it. Hopefully there will be JVC upgrades in the future. With just bluetooth which almost all of these have at any price you can basically do the same stuff. The mirroring of the screen is kind of silly if you can control the app from the head unit.(and you can't on a Iphone... not sure about android) I paid 2 Benjamins for the whole thing with the harness and dash kit...that makes this product palatable. I kinda wish I would have opted for the low end Carplay...but that would be double the cost of this.

Pros: low cost Easy enough to install.

Cons: GUI HDMI fuctionality is lacking real value.

Always wanted a touchscreen receiver and this is more than expected. I can completely control my highs, lows and mids from the console, along with the subwoofer. Can stream bluetooth from my phone, answer calls and they can hear me clearly on the highway without the extra noise. The MHL cable make it so you can stream from your phone as well, as well as having the choice to have a custom background.

Pros: Fun to explore Suwoofer and Amp control Works amazingly

    2004 Ford F-150
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this for my 2004 Ford F-150 because I wanted a backup camera and my wife wanted Bluetooth, otherwise we were happy enough with the factory CD/radio unit. I chose the JVC KW-V30BT because it offered the features I wanted, the specs were good, the price was right, and it has a volume KNOB rather than +/- push buttons, or worse, touch screen volume (I hate that). Because I couldn't install the backup cam myself, I had the unit professionally installed. The Bluetooth works great; calls are loud and clear on both ends. Using the backup cam makes me wonder how mankind ever lived without this feature. As for sound quality, it sounds the same as the factory unit, which isn't surprising since I haven't yet upgraded the speakers. I do expect an improvement once I get around to replacing the factory drivers. The JVC KW-V30BT has more features than I'm ever likely to use, but the controls and settings are easy enough for moderately accomplished computer or tablet user to figure out, which is good since the instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired. The unit made a clean installation in my truck, not quite as slick and cosmetically integrated as the factory radio, but not obviously aftermarket and cheesy looking like some video units I've seen. The unit comes with a remote control, which I can't imagine why I'd need it but it's there. Overall I'm very happy with the JVC KW-V30BT and I'm looking forward to hearing it with the new speakers, as soon as I find time to install the

Pros: Lots of features for the money; large, legible touch screen icons; crystal clear Bluetooth, volume KNOB.

Cons: If you want to use the HDMI connection you need to install it when the unit goes in. If you switch later from iPhone to Android or vice-versa you Ned to pull the unit to get to the HDMI outlet. Should have put it on a cable like the USB port.

    Jetta from Florida on 12/20/2015

I don't recommend this radio. The FM is weak - the radio in my cell phone works better. Noise level is too high. The fan that is supposed to cool the radio makes very annoying noise all the time the radio is turned on. I could'n stand it. The menu and controls on the screen are really difficult and not logical at all. The MHL connection is worth nothing since the resolution on the radio screen is way too small for for good picture quality. I set it back and got refund. Thank you Crutchfield. JVC please take the product of the market.

    Pros: 0

    Cons: I counted 5.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

One of the best units for very clear sound. Looks awesome compared to the stock radio. I especially like the double din setup. I would have liked the usb on the face of the radio instead of having it on a separate wire. I put the cable in the glove box. also I would recommend watching the utube video on how to take apart the vw dash. You have to be careful and take your time as the tabs will break off. and it has a couple of hidden screws.

Pros: good sound, looks awesome, large screen, straight forward controls.

Cons: would have liked usb port on the faceplate

Overall I'm happy. It is easy to use and has good video clarity. The cooling fan induces noise into my amplified system.

Pros: Large display makes for easy touch screen use. Lots of options to change control colors . A nice remote control. It has a power antenna output and a separate remote turn on .

Cons: It has a small cooling fan on the rear of the unit that can be heard running when volume is low . It also creates a buzzing sound in speakers at low volume.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a very cool looking audio receiver. I bought this system in order to boost my sound quality and to display my phone screen on the screen. The sound quality far outmatched the previous factory stereo. I use Bluetooth to stream my music from my phone to the receiver and it works flawlessly. Now about the phone mirror display part. It is functional. I hooked up my phone to the receiver and it was advertised that you can touch the screen and have it interact with your phone... and, well it was a bit more complicated than that. The screen kept telling me I had to be in park for the touch screen to work (understandable), but I have a manual car so I guess the receiver couldn't tell that I was not moving or that I had my E-Brake engaged. You have to order another part for it to recognize it's a manual emergency brake.

Pros: * Very easy to install. I've never done this before and it only took a couple hours. Just follow the directions carefully. * Very easy to understand directions. * Easy to use and set-up. * Good touch-screen once you get it to work.

Cons: * Lack of information on the phone interaction * Screen can be hard to see when there is a lot of glare

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The core, differentiating features exist and are impressive. Sound quality, power, and display lived up to expectation. Unfortunately only able to sync one smartphone. Attempting to swap phones under any condition is impossible. Once you set up a single phone, the set up option grays out. Only way to set up another phone is to reset device, set up your second phone BUT you just wiped out the settings for the previous phone. Tech support continues to investigate this issue and attempting to determine if this is a problem or a feature (what they will say "operational as designed"). Also the steering wheel controls not working but a secondary issue until I get past the set up challenge.

    Pros: Display

Cons: iphone set up limited to one phone.

Price was well worth all the do-dads that come with it. K mainly bought it for the android compatibility but my phone isn't quite compatible with the apps. The apps that are able to be installed are mainly for Iphones or older models. I'll give this a 4/5.

Pros: Touchscreen, audio crossover settings is amazing, brings out best speaker performance. Steering wheel controls and remote is a lifesaver.

Cons: Doesn't read text messages to you when you receive them. Lost voice activated calling from factory head unit even with wiring harnesses.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this unit to replace the OEM unit in my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab. The CD player on the old unit failed and I still like listening to books on CD etc. I also wanted to maintain the touch screen ability. One deciding factor was the Android phone compatibility. The new unit works great. The Bluetooth functionality with Phone and audio works flawlessly. When playing music the sound is much better than my stock unit and I'm still going through the stock speakers. The ability to watch DVD movies is a plus. Installation was a breeze. Crutchfield Tech Support was great when I had a couple questions regarding wiring. The viewing screen does get a little washed out in direct sun but not nearly as bad as the OEM unit did. Traversing through the menu options is simple. The one thing I'm disappointed in is the MHO compatibility for Smart Phone Control. I found out after I had the unit installed that it's currently not compatible with my Samsung S6 Edge smart phone. I've contacted JVC and was informed that they are working on a firmware update but not sure of availability. The primary reason I would like this feature is for viewing Google Maps on the head unit instead of my smart phone. I use my phone extensively for GPS functionality. I'm very happy with the purchase. (one item I should mention for anyone replacing their headunit in a Dodge Ram truck. Do not discard your OEM headunit as you might need it for future dealer updates to HVAC options in your vehicle)

Pros: Great sound, ease of operation, lots of features.

Cons: Smart Phone Control/MHO incompatible with Samsung S6 Edge

Great system, sounds great, easy to use. My only complaints are that the fonts used to display Title and Artist info are extremely small. The icons for play and pause are large but the rest of the screen space is wasted . JVC should offer a firmware update to allow you to change the font size from mouse print to something that adequately utilizes the space on the screen.. The bluetooth signal can also be spotty at times.

Pros: Ease of use. Sounds great

Cons: Tiny font, can barely see song title and artist. Wasted screen space.

    2012 Nissan Altima
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am an Android user who prefers to listen to music through Spotify or Pandora. I bought this mainly because I thought I would be using the MHL most of the time with my Android phone. I should have splurged for the more expensive google auto radio. 70% of the screen real estate is taken up by buttons leaving little to no room for music info unless you are using Pandora. Blue tooth streaming and Sat radio only display artist or song or album, but not at the same time and no artwork. Sound quality is good and very easy to customize. When running MHL I can hook up power to the phone though my adapter but all it does it cause to phone to lose power less quickly. I lose sound quality through the MHL and have to instead stream the music through Bluetooth and switch to MHL display. I had higher expectation for this radio and am not sold on it yet. I do like that I can build a buffer for my Sat radio stations.

Pros: customizing audio settings, buffer for sat radio stations.

Cons: Cluck buttons that take up too much room. MHL leave much to be desired.

Happy with it, but not completely

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit is great for the most part. Installation was easy and the wiring diagram was easy to follow no matter what harness you are using. I used the PAC RP-5-31GM for my installation so i could keep the steering wheel controls without having to install multiple harnesses. The only think that keeps this unit from having 5 stars is that you can not listen to another audio source and have your Android device override it when you're using the GPS connected via HDMI. I even spoke with Crutchfield support to ensure that I didn't miss a setting somewhere.

Pros: Sound, Multiple Regions, Screen Color and display. Fairly easy to use as well.

Cons: No Android audio if listening to another source (i.e. radio station, cd/dvd, etc.)

    awful user interface

    Ben from Massachusetts on 6/13/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This deck sounds good and installs relatively easily. But the user interface is terrible. It's cumbersome to use, and feels like something from a decade ago. Bluetooth is flaky, with sound that cuts in and out and continuous issues with my wife's phone pairing. Even though I don't have SiriusXM there is no way to turn off the SiriusXM signal indicator. I'm returning this for a different model.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this JVC (with some help) into my 2006 Jeep Geand Cherokee Overland when the stereo head unit stopped working. I was really only looking for a cost effective solution, but was really, really, really surprised at the good sound quality. Basically, it blew the factory head unit away. No question there. Please note that I bypassed the Jeep's amp. This unit was a bit tough to set up with my iPhone, but I figured it out eventually. Why are the instructions always so terrible?

Pros: Good sound for price. Value blew me away. This JBC unit sounds way better than I expected.

Cons: Install was difficult, due to location of amp in Jeep. IPhone configuration could be easier. The key for me was selecting the correct hardware install config--the manual did not explain this clearly.

I am really enjoying this stereo so far. I installed it 2 weeks ago and it has been great. Installation was pretty easy with the Crutchfield accessories. The MHL cable works well with my HTC M8. The screen of my cell phone is a little smaller than the overall screen of the stereo, but it's very useful for Google Maps. A small downfall is that the screen has not been bright enough on really sunny days. I have the screen brightness turned all the way up, but sometimes it is still hard to see the screen. The one star off is because of the screen brightness. I would take a half star off of it, but that's not an option. The unit fits great into my car and looks fantastic.

Pros: MHL, Bluetooth audio, DVD player, USB audio/video, looks nice, great sound, easy installation.

Cons: Screen not bright enough on very sunny days.

Seemed like a nice unit and sounded far better than the pioneer I was replacing but the screen layout was horrible. Huge icons and tiny display of the title and artist. I sent mine back and got the JVC 200BT. I am very pleased with it compared to the V30BT.

This is a nice looking unit and sounds great but that's about it. Apps do not work well with an I-phone. Steering wheel interface went bad so had to use the touchscreen for everything. Wasn't compatible with back up camera so that feature was useless. Wasn't worth the money, getting a new screen for the stock unit.

    Pros: Sounds and looks nice.

Cons: Don't buy if you have an I-phone. You have to buy too many ancillary items to get this unit to work with factory options thus driving up the cost too high.

It's a wonderful unit overall. The downside to it is that it requires adaptors for the use of my Samsung Galaxy S4 that have to be ordered and they make the stereo about $40 more then what I expected. Also what the phone to head unit displays is not adjustable and the unit doesn't use all of the screen and it's kinda of small. The other thing unless it's just me. You can manipulate your phone from the screen and the screen on your phone has to stay on in order for the screen on the head unit to display anything unlike google chrome for example. The rest of the unit is great though. The screen is adjustable for all lighting conditions you can set up to three items on the main screen phone had its own dedicated location so it doesn't tie up a spot. It's pretty fool proof in operation. Oh and the parts of the stereo that light up can be made a wide range of colors to meet your preferences.

Pros: Good screen nice design feels solid ease of use

Cons: Needs adapters to display phone on screen.

Mixed Bag, Probably wouldn't buy it again.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After lots of research I went with this JVC unit to replace my factory Bose unit from Nissan. Mainly my factory stereo didn't support blue tooth audio, only phone calls. The main features of the stereo work great, but almost all the peripherals needed tweaking, hacking, or simply giving up. The sound is good, but not great, and only marginally better than the factory Bose unit. The equalizer is very nice. I like the ability to define a custom user setting. The main screen, and the settings screens are nice. Well layed out. However all other screens are terrible. Huge rigid 6 buttons take up 3/4 of the display screen, while squeezing all other output in the other 1/4 screen. Pandora or FM stations display the song info, but you have to scroll thru it to see the artist/album/track. Then on some apps, like the CD, half the buttons are unused, yet they still occupy space on the screen. The app screens should function like the settings screens. Pandora tends to hang when connecting. One in 5 times I have to fidget with it. MHL is useless on my HTC. It will display google maps, but it won't swipe, instead it selects as you try. Plus the resolution is terrible And it seems the MHL can't be connected when BT is streaming and vise-versa even though there is a setting to support both. Making sound adjustments while driving is nearly navigating to the EQ and/or fade controls take several steps. They could have done so much butter with the UI.

Pros: Good Sound, EQ, BT audtio/phone, main screens, voice dialing, semi-customizable screen for colors

Cons: Buggy pandora app, Terrible screens for all apps (tuner, cd, pandora, etc.). Huge rigid buttons yet other parts of the screen have too small of text, MHL is worthless, Awkward "search" button to navigate. Strange use of play/pause button in the same control instead of toggling the display.

    It was an ok Unit

For the price its a great radio...but save your money for a better unit. very cheap feel & the dish drive make A LOT of noise when you insert or eject a disc. It says it has dual zone but after many hours of trying & calling JVC, they guy at JVC had no clue & just said it was capable of doing it. The guy seemed like he could care less & had real knowledge of his company's device. Even though on JVC website it says it can. I returned this unit & got the Pioneer AVIC 6000NEX more expensive but everything works & looks WAY better

    Pros: Cheap price

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this to replace an OEM factory radio in a 2008 RAV4. Mixed sound quality: it worked great over Bluetooth, but hard a hard time picking up FM stations. It really does have some great features, not all of which I employed, but the display was the dealbreaker for me. It has these enormous buttons that take up 2/3 of the display, no matter what audio feature you use, and very small font - about the equivalent of 12 font on a paper document - and you can't change it. You can customize the colors about 12 different ways, but you can't increase the tiny little font. It also doesn't show all RDS information at the same time, whether radio or Bluetooth: you have to keep touching the screen to get it to change, which is irritating while driving. It was spotty with RDS from radio stations that my husband's radio picks up just fine. In daylight, the screen and the buttons, despite how large they are, are barely visible, and the font is unreadable. It will be on its way back to Crutchfield on Thursday; here's hoping its replacement is an improvement.

Pros: Some ability to customize the display, Mirrorlink enabled, works well with Bluetooth, good sound quality on Bluetooth.

Cons: Display, screen, font size, FM radio signal.

After sending the first V30 Bt back because after twisting yellow and red power wires together touching positive side of battery. Taking black wire and touching negative side of battery stereo didn't come on. I like the second V30BT had to do firm ware update on stereo. Thanks to all the guys on the tech side that helped me through that. Now I ordered a 5 to 11 pin MHL adapter, because my Android Active was not compaitable with MHL part of the stereo. The part I was really interested in was getting my apps on the stereo so I could view maps. I will have to wait for that part. Samsung was out of stock on the adapter. I wanted it before I return to work, but it is coming from China, I think delivery is March 23. I maybe in when I return in 2 weeks. Blue tooth works good as far as sending your music to the stereo.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installation in my 2004 Silverado was easy. The unit worked out of the box and was a piece of cake to set up and customize. All of the features/inputs I've used have worked so far: Tuner, Bluetooth audio, music+video+pictures on USB, CD, DVD, Pandora, iHeartRadio, and MHL. I've got the MHL connected with my Samsung Galaxy S5 (sprint model) with minimal issues, I used a cable I already had from Amazon (Maxah brand - with the 11-5 pin adapter which is important!) rather than the one from Crutchfield. MHL was easy to set up per instructions (and youtube video that's been pointed out by other reviewers, easy to find via the googlez) and did exactly what it was supposed to do. My home screen doesn't auto-rotate, which is an issue with Samsung's Touchwiz not the receiver/MHL. Other apps rotate to landscape fine. One issue I've had with MHL, after deleting the bluetooth profile and re-setting it up I lost ability to use the receiver to touch-control the phone, it only displays. It worked initially but now does not. I'm pretty sure it's a bluetooth setting on the phone but I haven't bothered with fixing it (i really haven't used the MHL feature other than to play). As with other reviewers, play info (artist/song/etc) are tiny. Space simply isn't utilized very well on this unit. But it's just a display issue and doesn't affect usability IMO. Also, I'm not fond of the bright/dim. Dim is still WAY too bright at night. I'd like to have a Brightness +/-.

Pros: Works as described. No, or minimal, issues with MHL

Cons: Display space not utilized very well for artist/song/etc info Brightness control could/should be vamped up a lot. Dim is way too bright, especially at night.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I agree with Brendo that the text/titles for selections playing from CD or USB are waaay too small. There's lot's of wasted space on the screen. I'm sure this could be corrected by a firmware update.. I hope JVC will do it. Another thing that is too small is the volume knob, it doesn't stick out far enough from the face of the unit so it is difficult to make minor volume adjustments while driving. The sound quality is very good with the factory speakers and no other subwoofer or external amplification. The bluetooth connects quickly and works consistently with my Galaxy S5. I struggled to get the MHL working, but finally got it to "kinda" work... hopefully future firmware updates and/or updates to the JVC Smartphone Control App will improve this. I learned that my Tacoma actually had a Backup Camera installed from the factory, even though my truck didn't have that option (the truck had no DISPLAY for it). With a bit of investigation on the internet (and some work) I was able to incorporate this factory installed camera to work with the JVC. So that was a nice extra! Also, I mounted a USB port near the console, and the microphone in the dash to the left of the steering wheel.

Pros: Great sound Very functional USB directory scroll/select MHL "kinda" works

Cons: Some text/titles too small Volume control knob too small

Upgraded from factory stereo to this JVC unit due to style and function. I am using an external Alpine AMP with Infinity component speakers and a JL-audio subwoofer.

Pros: Nice fit and style to match Acura look. Backup camera function, tuner function etc. all work as expected. Sound qualify is what you would expect from a high-end receiver, although I am using an outboard amp and pretty high-end speakers. Using the component speakers in the doors and rear panel allows nice tweeter mounting that helps with sound dispersion.

Cons: iPhone integration is so-so. It works pretty well with the default music application, but it isn't so great with other music applications on the iphone. I had hoped to get some level of integration with Spotify, but you get is a very small image of what Spotify displays in App mode with an iphone 5 (and nothing with a 4). The music plays ok. The other application integration is fair as some applications will at least display on the screen. Firmware upgrade isn't working. JVC support MIA.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Head unit is a great upgrade from factory. Sounds 100 times better than stock, only upgraded head unit and not speakers, if I did the speakers as well, it would sound even better. Pandora just works, no issues. sounds good for Bluetooth. Don't use iHeartRadio so can't really speak on that feature. The iPod use is simple to use, although the layout on the screen could be better, things are too small or are to big. There are also empty buttons, would look much better if they removed those buttons and made the Artist and Title section bigger. The display issue is the same across most inputs, iPod, SiriusXM, tuner, etc. I wish the display section for Artist and Title was bigger and buttons slightly smaller. or have the button disappear when not all of them are in use. One other complaint not really an issue though, is I wish you could turn inputs off if you don't use them. if I want to switch easy between IPod and another input from my steering wheel controls I have to cycle through ALL the inputs and it is takes awhile. I have only tried the MHL feature once and it really didn't work all that well. Picture kept cutting in an out. I partially blame my phone though. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is still new and wasn't listed on the approved devices list. I am sure as this MHL technology takes off there will be updates by Samsung and JVC to better support this Mirroring ability.

Pros: excellent sound - was easy to install and get setup and running without much configuration needed. lots of input options. Bluetooth sounds good and have no complaints from people on the end end about call quality. ability to customize EQ for each input source. start up time is quick .

Cons: Display layout could be better. Buttons are a little to big and title and artist are to small. It would be nice if it scrolled between artist and title instead of having to hit a button. my factory head unit at least scrolled between them. MHL is still a work in progress

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a 2008 Yukon Denali XL with the Bose speakers, navigation & DVD entertainment system with a rear screen all from the factory. I purchased the additional installation harnesses as recommended. Had a few issues with the installation, but service was excellent and we resolved all of them. As for the head unit, I am pretty pleased with it so far. The sound and screen are excellent. I usually use my android phone for navigation so the feature to plug my phone directly into the unit and use my phone applications was a plus. Its execution however is just OK. I hooked up the MHL cable to my Samsung and the screen pops up on the head unit, but the navigation to get to the different applications on the phone is a little clunky. I tend to use the touch screen on the phone more as it is just easier to get things done. Connecting the bluetooth to listen to music and to get phone calls was pretty straight forward and the sound quality is excellent. Only thing I miss is having the pictures pop up on the head unit via the bluetooth connection like on some other units I have installed. I have Pandora and iheartradio installed on my phone. So far, Pandora has come up with all features and sounds great, Iheartradio sound comes up but for some reason no images. Only thing I don't really like about this unit is that the movies loaded onto the USB do not display to the rear screen. According to documentation, this is as designed. Kids can see head unit screen, but it is awkward.

Pros: Can load pictures, movies & music onto USB. Needed to convert a few movies before they worked, but shows excellently on the front screen. It also plays DivX DVDs and others. Music plays nicely from all sources. Phone apps with the MHL connection is a cool feature. You get a lot of features for a reasonable amount of money.

Cons: Movies loaded onto USB do not play on rear screen. This is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. Playing movie content from the USB and displaying it to the rear screen is what I thought I was purchasing. MHL phone app navigation is kind of clumsy. I think the JVC phone app could be done better.

This deck has all the potential to be really great. The display is nice. It's super customizable and has HDMI in which allows you to display some apps from your iPhone. Waze works pretty well but the resolution is slightly poor. The sound quality is excellent and super clean compared to my factory deck. The setup was easy and i was able to use my factory installed siriusXM antenna. The major complaint that I have is that the UI is pretty poor. Elements that don't need to be big are huge and things that should be bigger are tiny. For example, the Artist and Track info on both iPod input and Sirius are super small and up in the corner. WHY? Also, selecting tracks and playlists from the ipod is good when it works, but the control is a little intermittent. Another UI annoyance is that, you have to go into submenus for some pretty basic controls. Turning shuffle off and on for example could easily be controlled in the main ipod screen. There are even empty buttons. come on...

Pros: sound quality navigation display from iphone5 tunestart control for sirius xm

    Cons: many many ui flaws.

24 Bit D/A Converter: The JVC KW-V30BT utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality with Signal to Noise ratio up to 94dB.

MOSFET Amplifier: The KW-V30BT is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. The power output specs for the KW-V30BT are as follows:

    • Full Bandwidth Power: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels (200 total watts)

6ch/4V Preamp Outputs + Sub Control: The KW-V30BT is equipped with 6ch/4.0V preamp outputs (Front, Rear, Subwoofer). The front and rear preamp outputs allow fader control, while the subwoofer preamp output is non-fading.  You can adjust the KW-V30BT's subwoofer output level (-50 to +10) independently from the head unit's main volume control for added bass volume. You can also adjust the phase of the subwoofer output between 180-degrees (Reverse) or 0-degrees (Normal).

Built-in Crossovers: The JVC KW-V30BT features a built-in high-pass filter for the unit's front & rear speakers, and a low-pass filter for the unit's subwoofer output.

    • High-Pass Filter: You can activate a variable high-pass filter (40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 150, 180, 220 Hz or Through) for the unit's front & rear channels (speaker- or preamp-level), so low frequency signals are cut off from your system's front & rear speakers. The front & rear channel's high-pass filters can be set independently of one another.
    • Low-Pass Filter: The unit's subwoofer preamp output features a low-pass filter. In order to prevent high-frequencies from being sent to your system's subwoofers, you can set the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter to 50, 60, 80, 100, 120 Hz or Through.

Speaker Select: You can select which type & size of speaker you have connected to the head unit. Choose from Standard (OEM/Factory), Narrow (4"/5"), Middle (6"/5x7"/6x8"), Wide (6x9").

Pro EQ: The KW-V30BT is equipped with JVC's Pro EQ. The integrated equalizer offers 8 preset sound modes (Flat, Natural, Dynamic, Vocal Boost, Bass Boost, Vibrant, and User) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The User mode allows you to manually adjust the head unit's 3-band parametric EQ (Frequency, Level, and Q-Factor).

    Frequency Level Q
    Bass 60, 80, 100, 150 Hz +/- 10 dB (-5 to +5) 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 2.0
    Midrange 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 kHz +/- 10 dB (-5 to +5) 1.0, 2.0
    Treble 10.0, 12.5, 15.0, 17.5 kHz +/- 10 dB (-5 to +5) Fixed

Sound Extras: The head unit provides further sound enhancements for your car audio system.

    • Loud (Loudness): This feature boosts low and high frequencies to produce a well-balanced sound at a low volume level. You can set the Loudness to On or Off.
    • Dynamic Range Compression: This function reduces a Dolby Digital soundtrack's dynamic range so you can hear quieter dialog without being overwhelmed by loud sections. You can choose a setting of On (reduced dynamic range), Dialogue (clearer movie dialogue), or Off (full dynamic range).
    • Volume Adjust: The input level of each source (other than FM) is adjustable relative to the FM radio volume, so there isn't a significant volume difference when changing sources. Each source is individually adjustable from -15 to +6.

Key-Touch Tone: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

    AV Connections

Dual A/V Inputs: The JVC KW-V30BT DVD receiver is fitted with two minijack (3.5mm) audio/video inputs. The unit features a front-panel 3.5mm audio/video input for connecting a temporary external A/V source, portable game system or MP3 player. The head unit also features a rear-panel 3.5mm AV input for connecting a permanent external A/V source, such as a Blu-ray player, gaming console, or mobile ATSC tuner.

HDMI/MHL Input: In addition to Apps mode for iPhone and Android, the head unit's HDMI/MHL input can be used to connect almost any external mobile AV source with an HDMI output; such as a TV tuner, Blu-ray player, or game system. The HDMI input will provide video and audio playback. Your vehicle's parking brake will need to be engaged to view video on the receiver's screen. Playback functions will need to be controlled from your HDMI-connected device.

Camera In: The rear-panel Camera input consists of a composite video connector which allows you to connect an optional rear-view camera (105KVCM20, sold separately). The unit features a reverse gear signal wire, that when connected to your vehicle's reverse light circuit, will automatically switch the KW-V30BT's display to the rear-view camera input. Automatic video switching takes approximately 1.5 seconds. Audio from your music source will continue playing, while the back-up camera is displayed.

A/V Output (with Dual Zone):  The unit features a rear-panel composite video jack and 3.5mm audio jack to output A/V signals to an optional monitor and headphone system in the rear of your vehicle. You can select Disc or AV-IN as the rear-panel source; or your can simply have the rear AV output mirror the head unit's selected front source. The volume of the A/V output will be controlled by your rear entertainment system. You can select between a 16:9, 4:3 LB, or 4:3 PS Aspect Ratio for the unit's video output to match your connected monitor.

    Remote Control

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input wire (blue/yellow) within the included wiring harness that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to see if your vehicle is compatible.

IR Remote: The JVC KW-V30BT includes an IR remote control for wireless operation of the DVD receiver and connected devices (such as Bluetooth, iPod/iPhone, and USB).

You will need to purchase a new tuner. We don't have a way of keeping a factory one working with an aftermarket radio. [ Paul  Jan 11, 2016 ]  Staff
You need the HDMI and lightning adapter to use the unit with app mode and your iphone. You can use bluetooth for playing audio without that cable; including the use of the IPOD music player. [ Thomas  Jan 01, 2016 ]
    nope [ Isaac  Jan 01, 2016 ]
I just set this up last night and to my disappointment to hear and see the waze app you have to be on HDMI if you are on HDMI you can't listen to the radio tuner you have to be turned to tuner. However your phone will mirror everything you are doing on hdmi so if you have waze up and your audio books on your phone it will just mirror what ever is coming out of your phone. [ SETH  Jan 03, 2016 ]
It appears the Droid Turbo Nylon Ballistic is not MHL compatible and this receiver won't be able to mirror it. If you were to get a MHL compatible phone, then you will be able to display your phone on this receiver while listening to audio from an iPod or some other source. [ Paul  Dec 09, 2015 ]  Staff
from my experience, you can't use two inputs at once; i.e., if plugged in as usb connection to deck, it will not pick up another device via Bluetooth. but if you have maps running on the phone as well as music app you will hear the spoken map instructions through the speakers. installed unit in 2003 Tacoma and use with iPhone 6. pretty awesome for the price [ AJ  Dec 08, 2015 ]
With iPhone, this worked. Music playing through Bluetooth or USB, Waze warnings and directions came through. If connected but listening to terrestrial radio, Waze warnings do not play through Head Unit. Can't speak to android products, but since this HU is not really targeted to iPhone (which is why I'm returning it), I would assume android results would be at least as capable. [ Lance  Dec 08, 2015 ]
I haven't been able to get the radio to turn on so far [ Damien  Dec 04, 2015 ]
I only just installed it and am learning all the device features, but the short answer is that it depends on what you mean by "use". The navigation apps can be viewed on the screen, but this is just mirroring. For safety, you cannot change any map settings (e.g. destination, zoom, re-center) through the receiver while driving. This can be done through the phone and the screen is just mirrored to the receiver. Pandora has an app built into the receiver, which allows you to control the music while driving using the touch screen (e.g. thumbs up/down, next track, change station). I don't know if it's possible to install other apps into the receiver (like maps) so that you can control them without needed to touch your phone. [ CHRISTOPHER  Dec 03, 2015 ]
I am not sure about Waze, but I would assume so. I use Google Maps. It comes up on the screen full size. I am not sure if the touchscreen on the radio operates the map, I have only used the phone to pull up the app and get it started. [ Michael  Dec 03, 2015 ]
    Galaxy s5 [ Brandon  Dec 03, 2015 ]
Yes, just make sure your phone will support it first. Its a little work getting it all started but its worth it. I had the Samsung galaxy ssound I could do everything on the radio that I could do on my phone, even Facebook [ Brandon  Dec 03, 2015 ]
You can use waze and google maps with this receiver. However I have a separate, portable GPS, that I prefer to use and save the reliever for other functions [ RICHARD A  Dec 03, 2015 ]
I honestly don't know. Haven't been able to get it to do this yet. Haven't researched it much yet either. [ Dennis  Dec 03, 2015 ]
Steering wheel controls and Bluetooth work without issue, but you have to get the additional pieces necessary. I'm running this setup in a 14 Mustang GT with Sync. It was a little bit of a nightmare to wire everything up. But once together no issues or problems, I'm running an iphone with mine. [ John  Nov 30, 2015 ]
I'm not sure about the Note 5. I have an iPhone 6S Plus and the Steering Wheel Controls and Bluetooth work well. I use the Bluetooth both for hands-free telephone and streaming music. [ RICHARD G  Nov 29, 2015 ]
    Yes, you can. [ Michael  Nov 24, 2015 ]
Yes, I was able to install a backup camera on mine. [ MICHAEL  Nov 23, 2015 ]
Yes, it has a hookup for a backup camera. [ James  Nov 23, 2015 ]
Yes you can. I installed an Audiovox Bullet camera and it works great. It doesn't come on the screen when you put the truck in reverse like OEM. I put the camera power source to 12V switched and can just hit the Rear Camera icon on the screen and it comes on instantly. [ Don  Nov 23, 2015 ]
I have note S4, and was able to mirror all my apps, and access them on my deck. Only problem was any I used the Samsung hdmi adapter from best buy. Try the link cable from crutchfield, would be easier. I set my system up to use Apple TV, and a external computer for experiment applications, still working on it. [ TERRY O  Dec 03, 2015 ]
Yes you can I have both of these. You will need a 11 to 5 adapter by samsung for the galaxy phones. you need to by the official samsung one I have read the cheaper ones will not work right for this. [ robert  Nov 26, 2015 ]
Here is what is in the specs. The Samsung S5 is on the list. I have a HTC One M8 and the mirroring was working, but has stopped because of a ATT update. I am trying to get the issue resolved now because the mirroring is a great feature. Android Connectivity: The head unit's HDMI port is MHL compatible; this means you can simply connect your MHL-compatible Android smartphone to the receiver via a MHL-to-HDMI cable; such as JVC KS-U61 MHL/HDMI cable (105KSU61, sold separately). This type of connection also requires Bluetooth pairing and installation of the JVC Smartphone Control App from Google Play (radio also requires a firmware update). Compatible Android smartphones include Samsung Galaxy *S3/S4/S5, *Samsung Galaxy Note II/III/IV, Sony Xperia Z/Z1/ZR/ZL, and HTC One (all with OS 4.1+). *The Samsung Galaxy S3/S4/S5 and Note II/III/IV requires an additional 3rd party MHL microUSB 5-pin to 11-pin adapter (sold separately). The HDMI connector provides audio/video playback and charging of your Android smartphone's battery, while the Bluetooth connection is needed for touchscreen control. [ JEFF  Nov 23, 2015 ]
Yes you can, use the Samsung mhl adapter. You can only control through your phone, the radio has no control. [ KREY R  Nov 23, 2015 ]
Yes you need an 11 pin Samsung adapter for the hdmi input cable. [ Antonio J.  Nov 23, 2015 ]
    Think so [ ray  Nov 23, 2015 ]
Not sure, it has hdmi and blue tooth connectivity and this works well on the iphone, i assume :), this would be the same on the samsung [ cliff  Nov 23, 2015 ]
Not completely. The Bluetooth and Voice command work but not the MHL Connection. I purchased the cable and found out my Galaxy S6 Edge is not compatible. All the cable does now is charge the battery on the phone. [ Don  Nov 23, 2015 ]
I can't think of one reason why it wouldn't be. If your phone has bluetooth and mhl then it will work with this stereo. Any phone with those features will. [ KYLE  Nov 23, 2015 ]
It works on my Samsung S5. Never have owned a apple product. [ Wesley  Nov 12, 2015 ]
I do not have the iPhone 6s. It does work well with my iPhone 5s. [ Keith  Nov 12, 2015 ]
I upgraded to a 6S last month. Everything the 6 did, the 6S also does. I did have to re-pair it with the unit, but it functions flawlessly. [ Scott  Nov 12, 2015 ]
Since it works with my 6 plus with iOS 9, I'm going to say probably. YMMV [ Chelsea  Nov 12, 2015 ]
Yes you can mirror using the Lightning to Digital A/V adapter and the JVC KSU60 but you won't have full control of your iPhone via receiver. However speech recognition gets the job done for most things you want to accomplish [ Donald  Nov 12, 2015 ]
As far as I can tell it is compatible. [ CHRISTOPHER S  Sep 24, 2015 ]
I cant speak to the G3, but it wont work with the G4, not even the bluetooth sync will work, i ended up returning it and getting the pioneer model with android auto, works fantastic and the sound from the unit is better as well [ Tim  Sep 24, 2015 ]
Not know about the i use a Samsung galaxy3 the unit has good sound ququality but after sending it back and getting a replacement unit its a poor unit when trying to operate it the motherboard or whatever is way to slow im going with a other brand and taking a slaghammer to this one. This has nothing to do with Crutchfield they are very good to me i just waited to long to install it n i would go sony or clarion maybe ive been a JVC buyer before and happy but this unit can not reply fast enough when choosing different options it may take 2 mins to change from one CHOICE of operation. GOOD PRICE IF IT WAS WHAT IT SHOULD BE AND I CANT BE THE ONLY ONE WITH THE PROBLEM IM HAVING .THANKS FOR ASKING PLEASE CHOOSE CRUTCHFIELD BUT DIFFERENT BRAND.. [ ROBERT  Sep 24, 2015 ]
No. I only use one Bluetooth device (Android phone for music and calls), and it works flawlessly. However, when I've tried to connect something else...I must go into the settings and connect to it manually. It's unfortunate because this is an otherwise great head unit with some awesome features. [ Clay  Sep 23, 2015 ]
    Not that I can find... [ Kevin  Sep 20, 2015 ]
    Nope, really annoying. [ BRIANT  Sep 20, 2015 ]
Yes it does work with IPhone 6 Plus. [ CHRISTOPHER S  Sep 24, 2015 ]
not sure, do not have an iphone [ MICHAEL  Sep 08, 2015 ]
I use it daily with an iPhone 6 plus. Pay special attention to the instructions on connecting the phone. App functionality requires HDMI connection. [ Chelsea  Sep 08, 2015 ]
Yes. Connection to android phones is covered in the manual. [ Chelsea  Aug 04, 2015 ]
Good chance. Works with droid 4 hdmi and my s6. Just make sure you update head unit firmware. [ Thomas R.  Aug 04, 2015 ]
Got in the truck today and hooked the iPhone 6 directly to the USB input. It did charge the iPhone directly, and still did not when connected through the HDMI adapter. Can't say if it's 1- or 2-amp. Couldn't find any reference to it in the manual. [ Scott  Feb 19, 2015 ]
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and I plugged it in and it does charge it.I don't know the amp of the outlet. [ Virgilio  Feb 19, 2015 ]
Yes it will charge a phone or other device. The output current at the usb port is not listed in the owners manual. [ David  Feb 19, 2015 ]
Not sure of the amps, but it will charge a phone. [ MICHAEL  Feb 19, 2015 ]
It is active only when unit is on. It would only charge my android or iPhone if not using any apps or not mirroring display onto unit. If I am using waze or pandora, both phone still discharge, just at a slower pace. I drive a lot for work and would be hard pressed to get 5-6 hours of continuous use with rear usb while running waze and pandora and mirroring display on head unit (reason I bought this receiver). My recommendation as a workaround is to leave usb accessible but not for charging. Keeping usb accessible will allow easy firmware updates with a usb flash drive. Just use a car charger and plug into either the MHL adapter or iPhone hdmi adapter. It is not as streamlined, but charges devices while running multiple apps such as waze and pandora. Just did a 9 hour drive, no issues with this setup using both waze, pandora, multiple phone calls, emails and mirroring display the entire time. Hope this helps! [ TOM  Feb 19, 2015 ]
Rear USB is powered. 1 amp. Will charge phone. [ Chelsea  Feb 19, 2015 ]
I can speak only from my own experience. It does not charge my iPhone 6 when I connect it through the lightning-to-HDMI adapter into the unit. I don't know if it would charge directly, without the adapter, as I don't remember ever trying. If I can remember to do so when next I am in the truck, I will make note of the result and pass it on. [ Scott  Feb 19, 2015 ]
Not sure if it's 1 or 2 amp, but it charges my iPhone just fine or at least keeps the battery at the same level while using a gps app. I'm using the usb and hdmi inputs to a lightening converter to my iPhone. [ Kyle  Feb 19, 2015 ]
I called JVC and they told me that the apps only worked with an iPhone. I asked a similar question after I installed mine. They said only the apps on my phone would work with the unit. I have to say that I'm disappointed. You may try calling JVC to verify. I'll like to hear if anything has changed. [ David  Jan 05, 2015 ]
I had a similar problem then found out that the 5-11 pin connector was not fitting exactly right because I had a protective case on my Galaxy S4. I shaved off some of the plastic from the connector and it has been working fine ever since. [ Thomas  Jan 04, 2015 ]
I got it to work only by pushing the display button under the volume knob. After that it would let me calibrate and use touch screen on the unit. Start by using tuner then plug phone in. Then push display and your phone screen should be mirrored. Some apps will not work if car is moving. Also you may need to update the firmware. I did on mine. It's easy if you use a flash drive. [ TOM  Jan 02, 2015 ]

Reyna- I also have this stereo and a Galaxy S5. I struggled to get MHL to work before finding a step-by-step YouTube video. Go to YouTube and enter "Android Connection to JVC KW V30BT and KW V50BT" into the YouTube search bar. (Crutchfield doesn't allow me to give you a direct link). I was able to get MHL to work by following the instructions in the video EXACTLY. Prior to that I could only get video and audio, but no touchscreen control back to my phone. Be advised that even though it "works" it still leaves things to be desired. Hopefully this will be improved with future firmware and software updates. [ (unknown)  Nov 26, 2014 ]
I you have a a samsung galaxy SIII or similiar you will have to purchase a 11 pin to 5 pin adapter that goes between your phone and the MHL cable. You also have to download an app for your phone. I hope this helps. [ Carlton  Nov 25, 2014 ]
What phone are you using? [ Thomas  Nov 24, 2014 ]
If you have an android device, you have to have an MHL adapter to make it work. Go to jvc's website and put in the model number and utilize their interactive stuff to figure out which of the two adapters you require. If you DONT have an android device...I can't help you. [ Robert J.  Nov 24, 2014 ]
I bought the mhl adapter yesterday & nothing is happening yet. I also downloaded the jvc app. I think I have to update my jvc from what it looks like. Thanks for all the help, all your answers helped a lot! [ REYNA  Nov 24, 2014 ]
Your phone needs to support a video out. These phones are are typically labeled MHL or Slimport support. You will need the MHL/Slimport adapter to plug into the units HDMI port. From there you will you be able to mirror your phone onto the head unit. You will need an MHL compatible device if you want to be able control your phone from the stereo's touch screen. [ Chi  Nov 24, 2014 ]
what type of phone do you have [ Lacey  Nov 24, 2014 ]
First, make sure you have the updated application firmware. Mine came with version 1.1 and had to update it to 1.2. Information for this procedure is listed in the user manual. You will need a computer with an Internet connection and a USB thumb drive. Also, make sure you have the phone connected to the unit correctly. this information is also in the manual. If I remeber correctly, the phone requires more than a USB connection. For example, I have an iPhone with a lightning connector. I had to use the apple hdmi to lightning connector and connect an hdmi cable from the unit to that connector as well as the UBS to lightning connector. Then plug that into my phone. Also, check the JVC website for a list of compatible apps. I hope this helps. tl;dr check the manual. All the info is there. [ Chelsea  Nov 24, 2014 ]
    I have the galaxy s5 [ REYNA  Nov 24, 2014 ]
You'll need either the KS-U61 Cable (if the Samsung Note 3 has MHL...sorry I'm not an Adroid guy) or the combination of a microUSB cable, a microHDMI cable with microHDMI to HDMI adapter and KS-U60 (NOT 61). The applicalbe diagram is on page 57 of ththe manual. You can find the maunal via Google/Bing/DuckDuckGo at the akamai(dot)net site [ ZAC  Aug 22, 2014 ]
Item #: 105KSU61,JVC KS-U61 MicroUSB to HDMI Cable (from Crutchfield) & Micro USB 5 Pin to 11 Pin HDMI HDTV MHL Adapter For Samsung Galaxy S III S3 I9300 , bought the adapter for $4.50, it will not work without the adapter... [ Dwayne  Aug 22, 2014 ]
You'll need an mhl adapter. If you want to use the touch screen feature you will need to update the stereo to the newest firmware and download JVC smart phone control. [ Chi  Aug 22, 2014 ]
you can listen to Waze but nothing displays on screen. Extra cables were of no use for iPhone connectivity. Returning product. [ Lance  Dec 08, 2015 ]
I can with my iPhone 6, I constantly run waze and pandora at the same time. [ TOM  Feb 24, 2015 ]
