Liven up your next cookout or pool party with the Polk Atrium Sat30 outdoor speaker. It delivers smooth, clear sound and sports an enclosure modeled after outdoor lighting fixtures, to blend in seamlessly with your patio or garden décor.

You can mount the Sat30 virtually anywhere, thanks to its all-weather enclosure and inconspicuous design. The included mounting hardware lets you secure the speaker to your deck floor, outside wall, or even directly to the ground. Or, remove the pivoting mounting arm, and attach an optional pendant cable to hang it from a ceiling or overhead beam.

Use a pair of Sat30s by themselves, or team them with Polk's Atrium Sub10 subwoofer for a full-range outdoor stereo speaker system.

    Great Sound

These are great outdoor speakers. I really prefer the look of these speakers to other outdoor speakers. More importantly they put out really crisp clear sound. I not a hard-core audiophile by any stretch of the imagination but I wanted outdoor speakers to provide ambiance on my back patio while I entertain. I have them wired to my Pioneer VSX-1123 inside my house and they work great. After about a month of use they have held up well to the outdoor elements of rain and heat so far. I am really pleased with these speakers. I am not using them with the subwoofer. Installation was easy and I did it myself.

    Pros: Good sound Great appearance

    Very robust. Nice sound

Sounds great but a lot of work to install

Pros: Great sound when combined with the outdoor sub! You really can't come close to this sound quality with the traditional 2 outdoor speakers mounted on the side of the house.

Cons: A lot of work to install. You need to dig a trench and make sure to get cable rated for direct burial. Also the product includes regular indoor wire nuts, not outdoor waterproof wire nuts. So you either need to purchase the outdoor kind or seal them with silicone.

Great speaker when used with a sub-woofer.. I was worried that the sound would not be good due to them only going down to 115hz, but combined with a sub. they are great! I used 3 of them out in the yard for front L/R and a center channel leaving a indoor sub. on the covered patio and 2 in-wall polk speakers mounted in the house overhang. This 5.1 configuration is used for my outdoor projector theater, or just to listen to music. The only thing I did not like was that they came with regular wire nuts that you must put your own silicone in to seal them. I do not see why they could not come with inline crimp connectors that you heat shrink.

Pros: Great sound, small size, good looks and paintable.

Cons: Two little cons is they must be used with a sub-woofer for great range of audio, and did not like the wire connectors.

    Outdoor Speaker

Weatherproof Design: The Polk Audio Atrium SAT30 Outdoor Satellite Speaker is engineered to survive the outdoor elements all year round. The Polk Audio outdoor speaker is designed to handle temperature extremes from -40-degrees to 185-degrees Fahrenheit and resist salt and fog corrosion.

    Driver Technology

Dynamic Balance Driver Technology: The Polk Audio Atrium SAt30 Outdoor Satellite Speaker features a 3.5" long-throw midrange driver with 1" voice coil, vented pole-piece, rugged butyl rubber surround and composite cone; along with a 0.75" composite dome neodymium tweeter. Capable of handling up to 100 Watts of power to deliver superb clarity, detail and high efficiency with less distortion, at both moderate and higher volume levels, even in outdoor environments.

Flying Bridge-Mounted Tweeter: The cleverly mounted 0.75" composite dome neodymium tweeter does not get in the way of the woofer, for smooth, realistic sound in a compact housing.

Built-In High-Pass Crossover: With Built-In High-Performance Crossover Technology, the Atrium SAT30 can be connected directly to its own amplifier channels for independent volume control. The overall frequency response is 100Hz-22kHz and the -3dB frequency response is 115-20kHz.

Capacitive Coupling Technology: Capacitive Coupling Technology enhances the bass performance of the Atrium SAT30. CCT is an advanced signal-blocking technology that determines exactly where a small speaker usually skimps on bass output. Special circuitry then compensates by boosting response in this critical frequency range. More bass response means a wider dynamic range with more musical realism.

Acoustically-Matched Two-Way Design: The Polk Audio Atrium SAT30 Outdoor Satellite Speaker can deliver dynamic sound on its own or can blend seamlessly with the Polk Audio Atrium SUB10 outdoor subwoofer 107ATSUB10, sold separately).

The Atrium SAT30's weather resistant enclosure features an impregnated finish that enables it to blend in wit most landscaping and outdoor furnishings. The cabinet can also be painted to match your outdoor decor.

Direct Burial Connection: The Polk Audio Atrium SAT30 features an attached 3' CI3-Rated direct burial 2-conductor cable so no there is no exposed wiring when ground mounting the speaker. The outdoor satellite speaker comes with a pair of wire-nuts for connecting your speaker wire.

    Mounting Options

Multiple Mounting Options: The Polk Audio Atrium SAT30 Outdoor Satellite Speaker comes supplied mounting hardware to mount the speaker from the ceiling, mount the speaker in the ground, or mount the speaker to your deck or wall.

    • Deck and Wall Mounting: The Atrium SAT30 features an integrated mounting arm which allows you to attach the outdoor satellite speaker to your deck floor or outside wall. Once mounted the integrate arm allows you to adjust the angle of the Atrium SAT30.  The Atrium SAT30 also features a 1/4"-20 threaded insert to wall-mount the speaker using an optional wall-bracket (the integrated arm must be removed to access threaded insert).
    • Ground Mounting: The Atrium SAT30 comes supplied with an ABS ground stake and metal security plate to mount the outdoor satellite speaker in your garden or landscape. The enclosure even features a shock absorbing gasket to help it withstand blows from outdoor lawn equipment.
    • Pendant Mounting: The Atrium SAT30 can also be hung from the ceiling using the supplied eyebolt and optional pendant wire-cable (the integrated mounting arm must be removed).

Note: Aiming the Atrium SAT30 to an angle greater than 45-degrees my result in water buildup inside the grille that could cause damage to the speaker, especially during cold weather when freezing may occur.

These satellite speakers sound great. 2 mounting options. The sub sounds great as well. It's nice having some low end while outside. The terra cotta colored sub is an ingenious idea. Hello, For further detail page 13 explains the wiring really well. 1. If you wiring just the sats it is normal wiring, Left channel red to positive and black to negative. 2. If you are incorporating the sub into the system you will have the same 4 wires from the sats and 4 wires from the sub. Hook the sub up in the following manner. Left channel - in addition to the sat, white to positive and green to negative from the sub. Right channel - again, in addition to the sats, red to positive on the sub and black to negative on the sub. In total that is 4 pairs of wires with a positive and negative. I have been very happy with the sound of the satellites and the bass from the sub is very good. [ Brett  Mar 24, 2017 ]
I bought these along with the Atrium 8's, but have yet to install the sat 30 yet. I plan on setting them up when the weather breaks this spring. The larger atriums are however excellent, get many compiments from friends. Set them up on outside of our small pool house exending towards the pool. Very pleased with the accurate sounds that they send out. [ DANIEL W  Mar 23, 2014 ]
