The DB+ tweeters are designed for optimal dispersion of the high frequencies.

Stellar performers

If you're building your new system on a budget, Polk Audio's DB+ Series speakers are a dynamite value as well as being stellar performers. Their journey to excellence begins with a laser-imaged design that ensures minimal distortion, a smooth response, and incredible sonic detail.

Honed Polk perfection

These DB652 2-way speakers feature a 6-1/2" polypropylene woofer cone with a strong rubber surround for solid playback and resilience under the environmental stress that comes with living in your car doors. A 3/4" silk dome tweeter delivers smooth highs with precision to give you a vibrant soundstage, while a built-in crossover keeps the highs and lows flowing to the proper drivers.

Handles up to 100 watts RMS

With power handling up to 100 watts RMS, you'll do fine driving this system with an aftermarket receiver, but these speakers will reach peak performance if you power them with a nice amp.

For custom installation

Polk includes mounting hardware, along with boldly designed grilles that add flare to your vehicle's interior if you're doing a custom installation.

Note: Polk includes brackets to fit a 6-3/4" opening.

Product Highlights:

  • 2-way car speakers (pair)

i've had them installed for a whole day now, and they sound just as great as when i first plugged them in! but seriously, they're very clear, easy to install, and fit nicely in the factory holes. easily 34,000,000 times better than the stock paper speakers.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Used 2 sets of these in a 2015 Focus ST1. Without replacing the OEM head unit or amping the Polk's they do sound pretty clear but they are not very loud and bass is almost non-existent even compared to the stock paper speakers. Will be installing a 5 channel amp to power the 2 sets and a subwoofer. I believe that they are just far under powered by the stock head unit and they will sound just fine once they have the power they need. Long story short is that I wouldn't go with these as just a simple stock plug and play speaker replacement although the crutchfield and supplied wiring harness makes it a very simple process.

Pros: Easy install. Comes with mounting plates

Cons: Almost no bass even compared to stock paper speakers

I recently purchased some Kenwood speakers for the front fairing of my Harley Roadglide Ultra and was not happy with the volume level or the fullness of sound. I replaced those speakers with the Polk Audio DB652's and I could not be happier! The sound quality is much richer and the volume is better than the stock speakers!

Crutchfield and Polk - tremendous combination

Jason from St Petersburg, FL on 7/26/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have used the Polk DB series in 4 Honda vehicles with excellent results. They work best for me when i put a foam baffle (soup bowl) behind the speaker to keep out road noise and tighten the midrange. Recently i tried another brand and only had to rtemove them and replace with the Polk BD 6 1/2 round 2 way speaker. Tight sound, great power handling. The techs at Crutchfield have always been knowledgeable, helpful and had the right solutions. Very happy customer here.

2000 Jeep Cherokee
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these to replace the stock speakers in my 2000 Jeep Cherokee, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the sound quality. I've been an audiophile all of my life, and am always putting in massive amounts of research before purchasing anything involving sound. These Polks provide crisp high range, a punchy mid range, as well as a very quality low range, but I am adding a sub to fill out the mix a little more because who doesn't love a good thump. However, I have had them for about 4 months now and the bass they provide has suited me just fine. I have these paired with the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X500 and that is the way to go. The install wasn't too bad. I was skeptical at first with buying a 6.5in speaker to fit in a 5.5in hole, but they fit perfect. I had to drill new holes for the rear speakers but I was alright with that. Plus, the grills they come with are way cooler looking than the stock speaker covers. All around I am a happy camper. Just buy them!

Pros: Low price, good sound!

Cons: Had to drill new holes for rear speakers but that was super easy.

They sound great, especially for the price. Exactly they type of sound you'd expect from Polk. Crisp in the midrange through highs, decent enough on the bass but definitely benefits from a subwoofer. The instructions from Polk were kind of weak, Crutchfield provided better information which is cool but at the same time I'd like to hear from the manufacturer how they consider various options they provided to be optimized.

Pros: Great sound for car speakers. Excellent price. Cone material seems very durable

Cons: Almost no advice from manufacturer on how one installation method and configuration varies from another so you're left to figure out which configura

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

2016 Subaru Crosstrek - Speakers sound good with volume however radio head unit is lacking to provide the necessary punch for the speakers. Stock speakers are pathetic. Replaced the dash tweeters with the Subaru upgraded Kicker tweeters. The Polk DB652 speakers required drilling and upgraded hardware for install. The budget route in my opinion isn't the way to go - replace the head unit and add an amp. I love the crosstrek but everything on it is marginal but I'm used to my BMW X3 I traded for the Crosstrek. Since my system is still lacking I have opted not to replace the rear speakers.

5 stars for the way they sound and clarity 5 stars for the bass they produce just awesome speakers. The 4 star rating Is due to the fact I bought 4 of them, 2 had so much solder on the negative connector I had to cut the wire and solder it to the speakers so I could use the Metra harness other wise would have been 5 stars.

2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

At first I was "Eh" with them. Didn't seem all that much better than stock and mounting options were a bit limited. Having to drill holes in sheet metal, while not hard, is annoying. Gotta be an easier way. Once I adjusted the tone settings it got better. Clearer and louder. Still not what I had in mind. Upgraded the head unit to a Kenwood 600 or so DMX7704S and added an Alpine 45w x4 channel amp and turned it on. Better still, but something was missing.....And then I found the Kenwood's equalizer settings. BAM!! These speakers (car uses 4) came alive. Clearer, sharper and louder. Do they produce 30 Hz? Of course not--they are 6.5". But, they did remarkably well and are capable of surprising loudness due to their stellar efficiency.

Pros: Great sound when fed quality input. Very efficient and reasonably priced.

Cons: Drilling holes in doors? Seriously? What is this, 1985?

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just put 4 of these puppies behind a JVC KD-R970BTS head unit in my 2007 Limited Outback Wagon and they are absolutely amazing! I had thought about amping up; however, there is no need unless you just want to keep your ears warm with some earmuffs? The equalizer and sound effects that come with the head unit optimize these speakers. I had read reviews concerning the bass, but there is not problem here. You cannot go wrong with this totally SIC aftermarket system. Thanks Crutchfield!

Pros: Price Quality Sound

Cons: You have to learn the installation as you go, because the instructions are very rudimentary.

Extremely Clear Highs/Mids- Lows a little lacking

Matt from JBER, AK on 6/16/2017

2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Put these in a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I have them paired with a Sony MEX-1000BT so everything is marine rated since the jeep spends a lot of its time with the top down and they'll eventually get rained on. It gets decent power pushed through them . They have extremely clear highs and mids. The treble seems to be really amped which I'm still on the fence on whether I like it or not. You'll have to custom tune the equalizer on your head unit because the presets on mine don't really get the job done. It does lack in the deep low bass department. I understand that the overhead pods on a Wrangler can starve a speaker for air but even with the pod's walls lined with poly-fill, it did make a noticeable improvement but still left something to be desired. Looking through the over reviews it seems to be a reaoccuring trend through multiple vehicles so its not just specific to the jeep. This may change as they break in as well as I've only had them for a month. Overall I do enjoy their quality and I would purchase them again. Hope this helps make your decision.

Pros: Great quality, design and price Clear Highs and Mids

Cons: Lows lacking the oompf from the bass Treble seems really amped up, can seem a little sharp at times

Polk DB652, I purchased a set for my '08 Chevy Express work truck to replace stock speakers. The speakers are literally at the lowest part of the door firing at my feet, yet the sound, sounds like it's coming from across the dash. I ordered 4 these speakers for my 2009 Hyundai Tucson after 2 of the stock speakers were rattling and blown. They were a great fit and easy to install. It was my first time installing car speakers. After installation, the rattle went away and I could listen to music again. I can tell the build quality is much improved over the stock speakers. The only negative I could think of was that the treble in these speakers is certainly boosted quite a bit. I am an audio engineer who works in a recording studio environment all day and the amount of treble caught me off guard. I hope to enjoy them for years to come.

Pros: Easy installation. Robust quality.

Cons: Treble is extremely boosted.

This speakers sound great in my 2006 toyota tundra. These fit good in the rear doors. I did install sound proofing in the doors before installing these too. Placed these in the soundbar on my 09 Jeep Wrangler JK. Filled the space with polyfil, original HU and amp. Sound is crisp, very little bass though. Much to be desired. There is such a difference of volume between the front and back! I have 6.75 Rockford 3ways up front and actually have really GOOD BASS. But back to the Polk's in the soundbar, almost worthless. Install was so so, the polk grills do look pretty nice. If I had to do it over again I would have went with Rockford 6.5's, or maybe kickers.

Superior sound to the stock speakers even when paired with the OEM receiver. My goal was to replace the obviously blown factory speakers. Didn't really think I would improve the sound substantially, given that I was not willing to put half of Fort Knox into the effort; pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

Pros: Ease of installation; took about 10 minutes to drill 4 holes and put the driver into place. More than reasonable sound given the circumstances and goal.

The Polk speakers are so much clearer than the factory speakers. Tweeter response is a massive step backwards from 10 year old Alpine 6.5" with soft dome. Bass is not nearly as extended even after 10 hours break-in. Cone excursion is quite limited compared to old Alpine, structure and magnet much less robust as well. These will likely find their way to a shelf, the old Alpines going back into service. Wish I had kept the packaging, I would return these. Skip them, much better sounding 6.5" are available.

Pros: none

Cons: thin bass, screechy highs.

Replacement for OEM rear door speakers in 2001 Tahoe LT. Super easy, ten-minute install. Sound compared to the (dry rotted) factory speakers is incomparable, even through the factory amp-thing behind the glove box. I can only imagine what these will sound like behind a proper amp.

Pros: Direct fit, easy install, vastly-improved sound quality, instrument separation, and imaging (over stock, at least).

Cons: Treble frequencies seem slightly pronounced (though that could be an amp issue).

Did everything that was recommended to ensure great sound. Filled sound bar front dash enclosures with dynamat, used plug adapters. One front speaker has completely stopped working. The other front you can tell has blown, because of the rattling and distortion. The back 2 in the sound bar still play, but the sound is just not that good. It would be nice if Crutchfield would replace them with something different or give me a nice discount off purchasing 4 new speakers. CMH

Lows are decent for being ran by a stockhead unit. These are the 3rd purchase from Crutchfield and once again product is top notch. Great sound and great value. I installed these with a Pioneer Avic 8200NEX and have not been disappointed. I've never used Polks before but decided to buy them as a recommendation from my advisor, a Crutchfield representative, and she definitely steered me in the right direction. My first bad experience with Crutchfield. Installation was not extremely tough but the instructions are just terrible. I had to call them twice and the first time they were not helpful at all. I felt like "well if you don't understand the instructions , that is too bad". The second time I called was after the instructions tell me to "Cut away tabs for flush mounting speakers" well I cut them off and come to find out the speakers are nowhere near those tabs and you just need to install them using self tapping screws!!! There are 2 sets of adapters that come with it. Nowhere does it say which ones to use. True, the originals are inside the speaker boxes and the ones you need to use are outside but once you unpack everything and read the instructions, there is no way to figure out which is which!!. Speakers are not that great also. They really need an amp and sub, the lows are terrible. They sound cheap. I even told the sales guy that I was looking for better lows and he sold me these are great with a low frequency response of 20Hz. No bass whatsoever and if you crank it up with the EQ, forget it

Pros: The highs sound very crisp and clear.

Cons: Lows are terrible. Instructions are lacking

A poor sounding speaker

Rudy from St Clair Shores, MI on 3/21/2017

2009 Honda CRV EX
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Let me say this first--I have been a long-time fan of Polk's car audio speakers. I have had pairs of Polk's MM series speakers in vehicles of mine, going all the way back to the early 1990s. The pair in my old vehicle, in fact, are over 20 years old and still working fine. And they still sound nice. I wish I could say the same for these poor-sounding DB652s. The midrange has this very odd tonality to it--it is like a critical portion of the sound has a large dip in response. To make it worse, the highs are piercing. Way too bright inside of a vehicle, and these are even mounted in the rear doors, near the floor. Bass is weaker than any other 6.5" speaker I have used in a car, certainly not as low as the specifications claim. Could I even things out with an equalizer? Maybe, but those just add distortion and phase issues, and do not make the sound any better in the end (due to forcing the speaker to reproduce frequencies it can't handle on its own). If these were not already installed, I would take these out and return them--I dislike them that much. My previous Polk products were from the era when they were a self-owned company, committed to quality sound reproduction. Having changed hands at least twice now, I can see (or hear) the results of this--these just come across as poor, cheap-sounding speakers. Something I never associated with Polk products in the past. Avoid these. They truly are awful.

Pros: It fits the vehicle.

Cons: Strange midrange tonality Weak bass compared to other Polk 6.5" speakers Highs are way too bright

The OEM's were better

Anurag from Chicago, IL on 3/10/2017

2017 Honda Accord
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

All that fanfare with which you bought these speakers expecting them to perform better than the OEM's WILL go down the drain. On my Honda Accord, I replaced the front door speakers with the hope that these would deliver the slight punch I needed. The OEM were one-way speakers which sound just as good as these Polks. After replacing them with the Polk DB652, the sound is harsher and much more shrill. Mids and highs have gone up considerably, the lows - like their OEM counterparts, are still missing. I think people usually believe that replacing OEM speakers are the first step towards getting that punch. After the Polk DB, I realize how incorrect that "expert advice" really is. The next piece of "Expert Advice" came in the form of installing an Amplifier - Alpine KTP-445U and routing the speakers through that amp. I again pinned my hopes on this. Spent an additional 250 bucks for the hardware and labor, but again, the Polks didn't sound any better than the OEM's. Overall, about 500 dollars went down the drain. I wish I would have used half that amount as a donation to an orphanage. Oh, and the Alpine amp didn't make any difference at all.

Pros: None that I can think of

Cons: 1. The 2-way configuration delivers sound that is even more shrill and harsh. 2. No better that the OEM's 3. If you car comes with a tweeter, then expect your mid and high ranges to be a lot higher, the low-end will still elude you.

When I called Crutchfield, I asked for a speaker that would perform well with my stock head unit. I was told these speakers would deliver and then handle more power later with the addition of an amp. This was for the most part inaccurate. The speakers, able to handle 100 watts rms and are utterly underpowered and therefore deliver garbage sound. Anytime anything resembling bass comes into the song, the speakers distort, terribly. Make sure, prior to buying these, you have a listen at an actual store.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've owned several Polk Audio home speakers over the years and heve generally been quite pleased, especially with their powered subs. So when I went to upgrade the sound system in a used Toyota Tacoma I'd just bought I purchased a Kenwood head unit and some Polk speakers for the front doors. I chose these rather than Kenwood, Kicker or any other brand, in spite of them being a few dollars more, because based on the brand's reputation the thought that they would be worth it. Turns out that was a bad decision. I installed the head unit first and listened to a couple of reference tracks with the OEM speakers first, then installed the speakers and listened to the same tracks. They were noticeably worse: weak bass, weak mid-bass, very shrill midrange, and no better high end than the OEM paper cones. Thankfully the Kenwood head unit has a 13-band equalizer and I've been able to tune them to sound more reasonable. If I had only standard tone controls they would be been quite bad, almost unlistenable. Of course I don't know if any of the other brands would have been better, but I now wish I had done the head unit upgrade but just stayed with the OEM speakers.

Pros: Polk makes other great products

Cons: Simply poor sonic performance

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

As a car audio junkie for 3 decades its a complex mess adding aftermarket sound to todays newer vehicles so my 2015 F150 just got a speaker upgrade instead of the normal full tilt upgrade I usually perform but Oh well, its really a work truck so be it Under crutchfields advise I bought these DB652s over my usual Infinity reference , I never tried Polk and all I was looking for was a speaker upgrade . I think with any audio system without an amp you are really missing the boat and without a sub you defiantly wont have Bass... So thats where I am at,I have a louder clearer truck with no bass. I think I could have achieved this with speakers half the cost as the Polks however These do sound better but are under powered ,perhaps a 50W RMS speaker would have been better.. Who knows. I guess I will wait out the audio world till they start making a install kit for my console so I can replace the horrific radio the OEM supplies The bottom line,I took a baby step up for my ears....

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just installed a Blaupunkt New Jersey and 4 of the Polk Audio DB652 speakers in a 2003 Silverado 1500 HD. The speakers are fantastic and have great bass and presence. They will only get better with more runtime. I was about to order a powered sub but really don't need it. The Blaupunkt New Jersey is great. Bluetooth works great. Called my girlfriend to check the phone audio and she said it sounds great. It is a tad slow booting up when I get back in the truck but that is no problem. Others fuss about the clock display but I don't miss it- I wear a watch and have a phone sitting on the console constantly. One note is they said I would have to cut a dash support to fit the receiver. I did not have to cut the support-the New Jersey fit my 03' Silverado without cutting the bracket. Both products are fantastic. Highly recommend. I had missing speaker mount adapters and Crutchfield overnighted them to me at no charge even though I requested to have them overnighted at my expense because I had my truck all torn apart. I had two questions about wiring the wiring interface and they knew the answers immediately. All the above is why I will always do business with Crutchfield and why you should too.

Good sound, Good quality, Poor mounting hardware

Daniel from Ohio on 1/8/2017

I purchased to sets (4 speakers total) of these for my monte, replacing my stock, blown stereo. The clarity and overall sound is of par for the price and satisfies my needs. I can play any song in my car and these speakers harmonize well with my subs. Good sound and so far good quality as I have had them for 3 months now. HOWEVER the mounting hardware supplied may not be apt for your install. The brackets included with mine were garbage and completely unusable, leaving me to construct my own from scratch. Overall, if you don't mind working with them a little they are great speakers.

These are a big upgrade from the factory speakers in our 98' 4runner. We are running them off an Alpine deck, paired with Polk DXi6501 separates up front, and overall the sound is great. Warm and clear, with decent bass. I'm sure they would sound even better running on an amp with proper RMS power, but we are happy nonetheless. Definitely worth the money. 2008 Honda Civic LX
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After getting a new head unit for my car recently, I knew the upgrade wouldn't be fully complete without new speakers. My factory units were full-range speakers that gave muddled mids, warbly bass and indistinct highs. After plugging these in, the difference is night and day. Highs are crisp, mids are pronounced and bass is substantial (but not overpowering) - exactly what I was wanting from my car system. And, with support up to 300 watts, I know I can crank the volume without worry (though the head unit itself is plenty loud for me).

Pros: The tweeter doesn't protrude greatly from the speaker so they fit well in my low-profile speaker cutouts. Great sound at a not-crazy price.

Cons: None I can think of.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've had great experience with Polk in the past and decided to give these a try. Installed in a 2013 Civic and the difference between these and the stocks are amazing, even with the Honda stock radio. Crystal clear sound which you can hear many more nuances in the music that you can barely hear with the stock speakers. All that's left is to upgrade the radio and add amps and subwoofer to really reach these speakers potential.

Pros: You can hear every instrument clearly from the chiming of the cymbals to the rumble of the bass. These should shine nicely when paired with a new radio, amps, and subs.

Cons: The bass is slightly taken away when compared to the stock speakers with the stock radio.

2004 Toyota Sienna XLE Limited AWD w/JBL system. As usual, Crutchfield advisers and tech support were great! But this wasn't weasy...After messing around with the new Sony head unit and various interfaces and bypasses, I finally got good sound! Here's how: I had to by-pass the factory amp located behind the glove box in this vehicle to get it right. I had swirling sound, distortion and fader issues until Crutchfield finally suggested the factory amp bypass harness. I had this radio in and out of the dash at least 6 times adding interfaces for steering wheel controls and speakers before going to the amp by-pass. Finally, it sounds good and I can proceed with replacing or disconnecting the 10 factory speakers, most of which are garbage, including the stock JBL subwoofer in the cargo area.

Pros: Improvement over stock! Bypassing factory amp is a MUST, not an option in Toyota systems.

Cons: Must drill for mounting speakers in the rear panels, back and rear interior panels have to be removed. Did I mention: Bypassing factory amp is a MUST, not an option in Toyota systems...

I decided to replace my 11 year old factory speakers. I was not sure these would fit., 05 Silverado 4 door, Two advisors assured me they would. They went in with very little effort. I can actually hear the music now. There was plenty of power with the aftermarket Kenwood 500 BT. I paid the same as I would locally for the speakers but Crutchfield threw in the wiring harness which made them cheaper than a local purchase.

Pros: Fit great. Sound is really good. I can now actually hear the music. Sound great without an added amp Very good dollar value.

Cons: 2005 Silverado. Had to do a little drilling to install the front set of speakers. You need to decide how to use the tweeters. The speakers have a build in set and so did my vehicle. The install instructions could have been better as to the wiring and mounting. A call to tech support cleared up our questions.

Moderately easy and sounds great!

Pros: They are round like the OEM.

Cons: You have to install them to find out your financial outlay and efforts were not rewarded as anticipated.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is by far the best place to get your stereo equipment from. I ordered these for my 2009 Streetglide that already had a amp just needed new stereo and speakers. They helped me with getting the right stuff the 1st time "which is really nice" and didn't break the bank. Very easy to install. I have ordered from them before and will do so again with no hesitations .

Cons:

worth it.

Purchased these to replace the stock speakers in my wife's Honda. They sound much better. Seem to handle the stock deck find, but could use a little more power. Meet our needs.

Pros: Price, sound.

2005 Acura RSX
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Got these speakers for the rear of my Acura Rsx. I have the Bose system stock so it never sounded horrible but these were definitely a huge upgrade especially in the highs. They were a little hard to install but that was more due to the bracket that I bought. I love these speakers and definitely would recommend them.

Pros: Sound great especially in the high notes

Cons: A little hard to I install.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers added clarity and richer bass response with my OEM receiver. They really kicked into gear after I installed the Alpine receiver and power amp, bringing out the full range of mids and chiming high end response.

Pros: Fit my 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe front and rear.

Cons: Non.

2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have these connected to a Pioneer head unit and an Alpine Power Pack Amplifier with 45 Watts x 4. They sound great! They are so much cleaner than the stock speakers. The mids and highs are great. The lows are reproduced cleanly but they are not particularly loud. I have a 12 inch Polk Audio sub woofer so it isn't an issue and I would recommend that you have a sub woofer with these speakers. When you have the sub you can filter out the low frequencies and the speakers get even cleaner sounding on the mids and highs than without any high pass filter. I would recommend these to anyone who wants great sound but doesn't want to/cannot install component speakers. I love them and they fit great into my Trailblazer stock locations, didn't even have to use any of the mounting brackets. I also recommend using an amplifier with these speakers since they can handle 100 watts RMS, do not under-power them. Use 45 Watts or more to power them. I have had these for about three weeks before this review was written.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers are awesome! They have a pretty big space to fill with sound in my Suburban but really do a good job providing rich, clear, crisp sound. I am very impressed with the build and sound quality of the speakers and am a Polk Audio fan for life!

Pros: Work very well with just my aftermarket head unit but could probably be even better with a 4 channel amp

Cons: None so far

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This were an ok upgrade. I had second thoughts because of the size. The previous ones were 9 by 6. The 6 inch seemed like they didn't have much bass but as soon as the doors were shut. Nice. Pretty good bass.

Pros: They fit, Speaker harnesses worked like a charm no need to make any splices.

Cons: the accesories that come with the speakers arent too accurate you are going to need small drill bids.

Great replacement for stock speakers

2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I decided to do an overhaul of the speakers in my Jeep wrangler. A pair of db6501 went into the dashboard, and the DB652's went into the soundbar above the rear seat. I decided to use the DB652 because of the placement in the Jeep. Since these were going to be in the soundbar above the cabin facing downward, there's no need for a separate tweeter. The sound quality is fantastic. If you believe in great, clear sound, then Polk is it.

Pros: fit easily into the stock opening, sounds excellent, pairs well with Polk db6501

Cons: none, I really like these speakers

Features

Dynamic Balance: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.

Mounting: The speaker baskets have multiple mounting holes and are designed to fit standard 3-hole 6-1/2, Ford's 4-hole 6-1/2, and 6-3/4 applications. (A speaker baffle should be used to seal the inner ring of screw holes in 6-3/4 installations.) The included adapter brackets can be used to fit many specialized factory speaker applications. The brackets are also useful as a spacer in shallow locations; the brackets add 0.233" to the speakers' mounting height and subtract 0.232" from the mounting depth. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

Marine Certification: Polk speakers are marine certified, making them a good choice for boats in fresh water, convertibles, motorcycles, ATVs, and other applications where the speaker might get wet. Because they have coated steel baskets and the terminals and crossover components are not covered, we do not recommend using them in salt water environments.

You should speak with a Crutchfield customer service rep.[ Bryan  Jul 17, 2017 ]
These speakers actually use less depth than the db651s model. Also, these speakers need almost exactly the same mounting height so they should fit in place of the db651s speakers. HTH!My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101 [ Paul  Apr 15, 2017 ]  Staff
Depends on the quality of sound that you already have replacing speakers will upgrade your sound a little, the head unit is where the difference is really heard, also you should get a good sub for true bass, these speakers will not bring out the true deep bass tones[ Andre  Apr 04, 2017 ]
Should be close to stock volume I would think. When I looked into everything for my car it seemed like most stock head units were around 40-50W. If you're just changing head units you should end up with similar volume output.[ Nathan  Feb 17, 2017 ]
It means they filter either Low, mids, highs frequencies just by connecting them between the speakers and the sound source (stereo). The ones on this speakers are welded or soldered in the speaker. Right past the connection you just have to plug in the wires the speaker comes with. Also maybe you should give out more details when asking a question. Are you buying extra passive filters? . Does the speaker have passive filters?. DETAILS BABY, DETAILS!![ Saul  Oct 01, 2016 ]
They are soldered past the connection.[ Saul  Sep 30, 2016 ]
screw on. The speakers come with a plastic type of padapting plate that is 9 by 6 if your OEM speakers are 9 by 6. So that you can adapt the 6 inch speakers to it. These speakers have good mid bass by the way.[ Saul  Aug 05, 2016 ]
They will screw on[ JEREMY  Aug 05, 2016 ]
The covers are held on with the same screws that hold the speakers in place.[ Brad  Aug 05, 2016 ]
I, they are screw on. Hope that helps[ dave  Aug 05, 2016 ]
100watts and 300 watts peak[ Saul  Jun 21, 2016 ]
They are rated to handle up to 100 watts RMS. You will find this information, and more, under the "Product Highlights" section when you scroll down the main webpage for these speakers. I hope that helps! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5 [ Ryan  Jun 20, 2016 ]  Staff
