Precision woofers showcase your music
The DXi570 speakers feature 5"x7" polymer/mica composite cones that are lightweight and stiff, so they can create a big sound with minimal distortion. Polk analyzes their drivers in motion to ensure that cone movement is even and precise. Polk also uses laser imaging to craft woofer cones that are perfectly balanced to resist distortion-causing resonances. Polk includes adapters that allow you to install these speakers in larger 6"x8" openings.

Silk/polymer dome tweeters broadcast sweet sound
Rest assured, you'll hear every detail of your most enthralling musical moments. Each 3/4" silk/polymer dome tweeter brings out the high-frequency highlights in your music, and a proprietary magnetic liquid cools each tweeter so you'll get clear sound and excellent long-term performance. Speakers sound excellent. Much improvement over factory speakers that we replaced. Install was easy with the Crutchfield supplied instructions and tech support. Only stumble was the wiring harnesses did not work, sending me to the hardware store to purchase some wire lugs.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced the old worn factory speakers with 4 of these Polks in the doors of my 02 Explorer! Wow, what difference! The lows are about the same but much cleaner with no distortion at high volume levels! I can hear highs and even midrange I never heard with the factory speakers! Hooked up to after market Sony CD/Receiver these speakers rock! Plus I can add an amp to these in the future which I will probably end up doing! I've had plenty of car stereo/speaker installion experience but even amateurs will find installing these speakers very easy! With the supplied Wiring Adapters it just doesn't get any easier! I'm not sure why these speakers were discontinued, I would have recommended them to anyone! I did have to file out 2 holes on every speaker to line up with the holes on the doors but that was no big deal! Great fit! I'm a very happy customer! Thank you again Crutchfield and thank you Polk Audio

Pros: Great price! Great fit! Awesome sound!

Cons: Discontinued????

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought 4 of these speakers and powered them for over a year with an aftermarket head unit pushing 17 watts per channel. They sounded great! Just recently I powered them with a new amplifier pushing 50 watts per channel and added a sub and my life has been changed. Truly remarkable speakers. Not just loud, clear hi definition sound. You won't regret buying a set of these. Pay the money for a nice head unit and maybe an amplifier and let these speakers astound you.

Pros: Clear sound, well constructed, wide power rating.

Cons: Installation was tricky, supplied bolts were too long, but that's not polk's fault.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed four of these in my '14 Mustang and are a nice upgrade from the stockers. Definite improvement in clarity and sound quality while still using the stock head unit. Did the install myself using MasterSheet instructions for a '13 Mustang. Went smooth using them and a video I found on Youtube.

Pros: Went on sale for $25 bucks less.

Cons: Almost fit the stock mounting holes, get your Dremel out and elongate each mounting slot 1/16 to 1/8 inches. For the doors I had to cut one mounting tab off the short side to the speaker to make it sit flush, tin snips work well.

Thoroughly satisfied with these. I replaced all 4 5x7's in my car and coated the door panels with Dynamat. Even though I'm running them off factory Ford Sync head unit they are crystal clear and major upgrade from Ford units. The supplied connectors were a bit loose at the factory connection, easy fix with a bit of Krazy glue to hold them in place.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very clean sounding speakers and a vast improvement over the stock speakers. Some people have reported a lack of bass response, but it seemed appropriate for the kind of music I listen to (classic rock and country). I'm happy.

Pros: Fit in the same holes the originals (note that the originals are mounted terminal block down and these have to be the same way). Very good sounding speakers for the price.

Cons: Screw slots in speakers did not line up with original screw holes in the doors, but a couple of minutes with a drill fixed that.

These speakers sound great and have good bass response. The frequency parameters/equalizer setting on the Alpine head unit helped them sound their best. Can you get better sound? Sure, and you can spend a ton more money doing it, too. Like a lot of people, I had a budget and these speakers helped me maximize the performance of my system.

Pros: Good frequency response and tough to beat at a sale price.

Cons: None, so far.

This product was worth the money. The speakers are a great match for that truck. Installation was quick & simple (Crutchfield step by step manual). Once I turned on the head unit the Polk speakers came on & the bass box (factory 8" sub speaker) started to jam; boy was I in heaven. Polk makes a great speaker & I would like to buy more Polk product. Thanks Crutchfield for your help.

Pros: Great sound & price

Cons: None

Simple install in my F350 crew cab. Removing the rear quarter panels took longer than replacing all four speakers. Sound great way better than stock. BUT now I need to dump the stock head unit to really unleash them. Dean and Ryan were great helping me choose them...very patient.

Pros: Sound great, simple to install

Cons: made me remember how underpowered Ford head units are!!

I installed two pairs of these in my 2010 Ford Focus, they went in without a problem and with the included wiring harnesses installation was literally a 3 minute deal. Getting the door panels on and off wasn't even that bad. As far as sound quality its noticeably better than the stock speakers were. I'm still using the factory head unit for the time being but these speakers have noticeably more bass and are just generally clearer than the stock speakers. I am very pleased.

Pros: Good sound quality, easy installation.

Cons: none that I've noticed.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I gave this four starts rather than five just because factor speakers have gotten very good over the past ten years, so while there was an improvement, it wasn't like the improvement you'd get by replacing speakers 20 years ago. But I definitely am hearing things in the music that I hadn't heard before. The Crutchfield mastersheets are the best. Without them I would have never gotten the door apart safety. With them, it was an easy do.

Pros: Easy to put in, big bump in volume over the factory speakers.

I had already replaced the rear deck speakers and head unit on my mustang, so I put these last 2 in my front doors. I did not notice much difference over stock but I do have clear sound now throughout the car so i'm sure they helped somewhat.

Cons: Not much difference over stock

These speakers sound really good! I put them in the rear deck of a 1983 Chrysler 5th Avenue to replace the stock speakers and my stereo came alive! Plenty of lows, and nice crisp highs, I couldn't have made a better choice!

Pros: Great price for an excellent sounding pair of speakers!

Cons: None to speak of.

Polk Saves the Day!

Gary R from Toms River, NJ on 1/9/2013

I've been a long time fan of Polk car speakers having had them in my previous 2 cars so when I bought another vehicle, I went with speakers I knew I could trust. We lost all 3 of our cars in the flood waters of Superstorm Sandy and I had to get something quick, I wound up buying a used 2008 Ford Edge SEL AWD from a local dealer. It has Ford's Premium sound option with Navigation and Sync controls on a system that really didn't sound too bad. I called Crutchfield to speak with an adviser to see what they thought. After talking about what my listening preferences were, he again recommended Polk...this time a reasonably priced pair of DXi570s. With that now done we decided to order 2 pairs to swap out the front & rear speakers. The install was again made easier with the extensive installation instructions provided by them along with the speaker plugs to complete the job, all told, it took about an hour and a half to complete. Each speaker was a direct replacement that just screwed right in place of the factory units with only a little minor filing of 2 of the bracket holes on each speaker to elongate them. Once installed the speakers opened up the sound field 10 fold...and they're not even broken in yet! Much more mid range, mid bass, and the highs were finally able to come through. It's amazing that a simple thing like replacing the speakers can change your driving experience so much. Thanks again Crutchfield and a big thanks to my advisor Dylan for the wonderful job as always.

Pros: Direct replacement sizing, no issues during the installation on all 4 door panels, great clarity of sound, Polk quality. Also, the speakers went down in price by $25 per pair from the time I ordered them and the time I received them so I called them up and they CHEERFULLY credited my debit card without a hassle! Just another reason to shop with them as they have your back through the whole process no matter what comes up.

Cons: Zero

BIG Improvement for F-150

2011 Ford F-150 Lariat
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent replacement for 2011 F-150 Supercrew stock speakers which are horrible. Full range response is terrific with strengths in the high end and upper bass. Mids are OK but not on par. Clarity is incredible and was immediately noticable when a music passage had what I thought to be a high ping sound. First time listening on the Polks and I realized it was a triangle being played. Efficiency is great with stock head unit and they will play plenty loud. Crutchfield price was actually very good considering I ordered them about 3PM on Tuesday, received them by noon on Wednesday without any additional shipping charges and wiring adapters significantly simplified installation. Crutchfield manual was excellent but I would point out a couple of things specifically for the 2011 F-150. Manual calls for a 5.5mm socket which is really 7/32". Make sure you have this small socket size before starting. Second, and maybe it was just my truck but I had to rotate the speaker 180 degrees (Polk logo on cone is upside down) on the front passenger door. If you don't, the leads are hit by the window assembly on it's way up/down creating an audible click and bending the leads where they attach to the speaker frame. To save yourself frustration, use a straw to put onto the lock shaft and extend it up about 4". You may have to slit it slightly but it will help align the shaft into the door panel hole on reassembly. Extremely happy with Crutchfield purchase and speaker quality.

Pros: Accuracy of music. Excellent shipping from Crutchfield. It is a complete installation package. Nothing else needed.

Cons: Weaker in the mid-range compared to highs.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Polk Audio DXi570 speakers are a great value. These speakers were used to replace the stock speakers in my 1998 Expedition with premium sound. The Polk Audio speakers reproduce sound with clarity and enable the listener to hear otherwise lost notes and instrument definition. These speakers produce excellent highs and very good lows but mid-range can be a little "muddy" with certain music. Over all considering the price point of these speakers I am satisfied . Crutchfield has not let me down. The online shopping with vehicle specific help and complete product information made selecting my purchase simple and educated. The installation information was accurate and made the process very easy. Thanks Crutchfield.

Pros: Great improvement over stock speakers at decent cost.

Had a blown speaker in my '07 Mazda MX-5 and bought these on sale at the local Crutchfield. Had them do the install. Between 25% off on the speakers, the free install gear, and the modest price for the installation it was a great deal. The install took less than an hour, was done immediately, and done professionally. These speakers are a step up from the base speakers in the MX-5 and the sound improvement was evident on the first Bob Seger track. Whole car seems to be running better, faster, quicker in the turns...

Pros: Good speakers @ great price. Pros at Crutchfield did a great job. Marine certified if I ever leave the top down.

Cons: None really!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought two pairs for front and back of car, sick of cheap tremble from stock ford speakers Amazing tremble for crystal clear vocals in my favorite groups like five finger death punch, ac/dc the bass is clear and somewhat punchy but not loud although I cannot fully judge as I'm only giving them 40rms 80peak of the power they can handle 60rms 180peak If you get these expect amazing new life brought to your music but I recommend a small subwoofer 100-200rms if you want some of the lower bass range I had these briefly hooked to the head unit not having enough time between school and work to fully hookup the amplifier, they will sound good for being on an aftermarket headunit but will be missing the true bass they can probably give I would not recommend hooking to a factory head unit, they will be loud and sound nice, but they will be doing nowhere near what they can sound like without a proper amplifier

Pros: Amazing tremble and decent bass, enough for narrow speakers, can't fully judge (read full review

Cons: Non

1995 Ford Mustang
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers replaced both the door and deck speakers on my '95 Mustang. I was replacing the 17 year old stock speakers, so it is easy to expect an improvement. I was quite surprised by how great an improvement it was! The sound is so alive. The mids and highs are great. Very crisp and clear. I would like a little more low end. But, my expectations were exceeded with the 570's. I'll probably add a small sub later for that extra punch. The Polks are driven by a Sony stereo. I spent some time playing with the pre-set EQ settings and everything sounded good! I also ran through a whole range of different music on my iPod and CDs. Again, everything sounded great. I've read a few things about break-in. Don't know if it is for real, but if they get even better sounding, that would be great too!

Pros: Got 'em on sale at Crutchfield and felt that the price was really fair. Great improvement over the factory speakers. With the free wiring harness and Master Sheet from Crutchfield, installation was a breeze.

Cons: Minor issue... holes were a little off from the factory drillings non the rear deck. Simple fix: loose fit all four screws. Once each has a little bite. Drive them all down a little at a time, working your way around in a couple revolutions.

Great replacement for OEM speakers.

These are great speakers if you want clear high and strong mid to replace stock speakers. I can hear a big different after the installation. The bass is not anything like your larger speakers but alot louder than the stock one. These speakers are mainly for your everyday driving music which for me is fine. It took me about 25 minutes to replace both doors speakers thanks to the free Master Sheet and Wire harness from crutchfield. GREAT JOB for Crutchfield on that.. Over all, I'm very happy with the purchase and the price.

Pros: Clean sound over the stock speakers when turn up high.

Cons: None...

Great overall sounding speakers. If your looking for a speaker that has crisp, clean, rich sound that hits hard then look no further. I'm powering these speakers off my pioneer head unit and they sound great . I do plan on adding an amp for the extra detail and volume gain. The advisers at Crutchfield are all awesome. They took the time to answer all of my questions and are very helpful.

Pros: Great sounding ,quality built and marine certified.

Cons: If I I had to list a con, and it wasn't really a big deal, it would be that I had to drill a couple of holes for the mounting bolts.

Probably great with subs, otherwise not much.

2004 Ford Taurus SES
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was expecting a nice improvement from the stock door speakers in my Ford Taurus, but I have to say this is the most unimpressed I've been in 20 years of buying speakers. I selected these based on a combination of average user rating and also the specifications. I recently bought a new Kenwood deck and was enthusiastic about how much better it sounded than the factory CD. i figured that by upgrading to decent speakers in the doors, the sound would be as excellent as I could ever want in a Taurus. In consideration of the 90 minutes of monkeying around with the door panels and what not and the for the price, I have to say this was a waste of time and money. The only reason I'm giving these speakers two stars and not just one is that I believe they were marketed incorrectly and it's not the speakers fault. They must have been intended for audiophiles who have subwoofers installed in their cars because there are no low end frequencies with these speakers. You lose a lot of music without the lower end of the sound spectrum. I am debating going through the rigmarole of uninstalling them and mailing them back to Crutchfield, it is either that or double down and obtain speakers for the rear that are mostly bass. Right now, I don't have any bass.

Pros: The response is better than the factory speakers at the mid to high range. I believe the specs are 93dB, and that sounds (no pun intended) accurate. These are as loud on the high end of the spectrum at level 15 on my Kenwood deck as the factory speakers were at level 17-18. I only listen to CDs in my car. I don't listen to talk radio or any radio for that matter, just music and so I could discern an improvement at those ranges. In this regard, the speakers are an improvement over factory.

Cons: There is no bottom end on these speakers. I am not exaggerating; there is nothing. My rear factory speakers sound like subwoofers compared to these. Since they are the exact same speakers as those replaced in the doors, I've lost 50% of the low frequencies in my music! These would be great for use with subwoofers because the higher end sounds good, but there is literally no bass with these speakers. This is inexcusable. None of my CDs sound like they used to. Terrible.

1997 Ford Mustang
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed these in the rear deck of a 97 V6 mustang. These blow away the pioneers I have installed in the front doors sometime ago. Outstanding at high volume. Mid's and highs are just amazing, I think that's due to the built in crossover for the dome tweeter that's on the center of the speakers, Where do I begin with Bass? These pound harder then the stock speakers, the stock would give out and start sounding extremely muddy. Heck the rear-view mirror shakes just on the rear speakers alone and I can feel the bass pounding through my seat. I can turn the radio all the way up with these and not have it distort, compared to what's in the front door, these are just better. I was looking at these when I first purchased the car awhile back, but lack of reviews anywhere on the net discouraged me to buy them, after seeing the reviews just recently I had to buy them. The only downfall is you need to wait a week before you see full potential because you need to break them in. These are paired up with a Pioneer DEH-9400Bh radio and let me tell you these are the best I've bought to date. Its the door speakers that need to come out of my setup and everything is complete. ps. I had purchased these when they had them on sale.

Pros: Chrisp sound, material and workmanship.

Cons: I had to take my craft sander and shave off some metal to get them to fit in the actual 6 x 8 speaker deck. 01-04 Mustang speakers have proprietary holes where its a fixed position, on 94-98 rear deck, they are a little spaced out so its where shaving some metal is due.

Great for the money

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these speakers to replace the 2 speakers in the doors of my 1999 Grand Marquis. So, you can imagine that any new speakers would be considered an upgrade. These speakers are good though, just took some EQ tweaking to get the sound right. The bass is there and the mid and treble are great. There is distortion at times that I wouldn't expect it to happen, meaning the volume isn't ultra high, but I can't complain. For $75 bucks they are a perfect upgrade. If you are looking for unbelievable sound quality go with alpine or something but for a reasonable upgrade with pretty good sound quality for everyday driving, get these for sure.

Pros: Good bass, mid and treb. Very clear sound and affordable

Cons: Distortion, but you get what you pay for.

2010 Ford Escape
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just replaced all 4 speakers in my 2010 Escape (with factory stereo). The sound is more clearer and the bass is heavier also, so much I had to turn the bass down. Installation went smooth. Crutchfield provided detailed instructions for everything. The 1 thing (and it's not a big deal) is the speakers screw holes were located slightly smaller than the factory so I was only able to screw back in 2 of the 4. Still a tight fit.

Pros: Sound

Cons: Nothing

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall a good sounding speaker if only using with an aftermarket head unit, no amps. The bass could be better though. Some songs hit good and others, well you will just have to play with the equalizer alot

Pros: Great mids and highs.

Cons: A little weak on the bass. Must play around with the equalizer a bit

Very Happy w/ These

Will from Georgia on 6/14/2012

Used these to replace factory Ford "Premium" system front door speakers in an Expedition. Was concerned after reading reviews about bass response with these. Sound from these is much cleaner. Bass response is just as good - the only thing I lost was some distortion/noise. Fit was perfect and the crutchfield harness and instructions made install as painless as possible. Very happy with them.

I am not an audiophile, but one of the FoMoCo speakers in our Mariner went fuzzy, so we upgraded. The Polk DXi570 speakers not only fixed the bad speaker buzz, but made an very noticable improvement in bass, treble, and power output. We are very happy with them. Crutchfield's service is outstanding - quick shipping, very helpful instructions included, proper wiring harness included, and the sale price was better than elsewhere. I'll shop here again.

Hands down quality speakers! Tired of people writing reviews that have no idea what their talking about. These speakers do exactly what they are supposed to, deliver great high's and mid-level high's. Should be paired with a nice set of 6x9's and a small sub. Great product!!!!

Although I realize these speakers are for mids and highs, I was hoping to get a bit more lows out of them. I listen to classical mainly and am enjoying crisp and clear sound the speakers produce. The one thing that does bother me is that when installing them, there was no way to seure the speaker cover (ie. that plastic piece that looks like a gasket.

Pros: crisp and clean mids and highs

Cons: lows are a bit lacking

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had recently upgraded my stock radio in my 2006 Ford F-150 to a JVC KW-HDR720 and kept the original stock speakers. But, I wanted to find some speakers that would improve the sound and read the great reviews on the Polk Audio DXi570 speakers. I got them on the last day of sale at $74.99 and received them in about a week's time. The installation was simple and was complete in about 15 minutes. I had to bend up two of the screw tabs on the longer sides and the speakers fit perfectly. As for the sound, it has improved. The sound spectrum is better, but the bass could be fuller. I am not dissatisfied with these speakers because they do sound great and will handle the volume and power from the JVC HD radio. I just changed out the front speakers and left the rear ones stock for now. Getting to the rear speakers is a lot more work than the front ones. I may change out the rear ones at a later time, but for now, everything sounds just fine.

Pros: Adaptability Sound Price Cost

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed these in the doors of my 2011 Mustang with the factory shaker 500 system. Installation took me less than an hour start to finish thanks to crutchfields detailed instructions and snap in harness. With the factory stereo and amps powering these I wasn't expecting perfection, but what an improvement. The car has 8in woofers in the door to handle the bass and I added a sound ordnance b-8p for a little more low end. I replaced one speaker first and then did a comparison from door to door. These are much clearer sounding and more defined bass (but don't expect much bass out of them). I didn't realize how muddy the factory speakers were until I replaced them with these. Overall very happy with them and im sure like anything they would sound much better with a factory head unit

Pros: Fit great! Huge sound improvement with a stock system

Cons: none

First any 5x7 speaker is limited. That said, if you must use it, the Polk is the one to use. These are the stock rear speakers in the Tacoma Ext cab. Fronts are now Polk dxi6500 component which are excellent. Good matching voicing all around. Rears are light fill anyway so lack of bass not an issue. Overall excellent balance with just the oem head. Recommended

Pros: Excellent tweeter, smooth freq response, voicing matches other dxi Polks

Cons: Nothing much below 100Hz. It's only a 5x7! Use bass blockers

I installed two pairs of these speakers in my 2011 Mazda 6. They are a great improvement over the flimsy stock speakers. These Polks have a solid feel and build quality, the mounting holes lined up fairly well and they sound great. You can definitely hear more detail in your music. Plus, they are affordable, which makes them a good value overall. I'm anticipating even better performance when I install an aftermarket head unit. I would also like to thank Crutchfield's friendly tech support for the vehicle specific wiring information they provided me with. Great job!

Pros: I give these speakers 5 stars because they sound really great for the price.

Cons: None at this time.

Ordered a front and rear pair for my 2001 Ford Focus Hatchback. They are running off a kenwood excelon head unit (20ish watts per channel.) These speakers can take up to 60 watts each. They still sound great without an amplifier, however an amplifier will certainly make them even better. The first song I noticed a huge difference in clarity and loudness. Have been running them hard for about 2 months now and I highly suggest them to anyone who wants to sound good without paying 500 per pair!

Pros: Easy install, clean look, perfect fit, sound great!

Cons: Needing to take your door panels off to install! But hey, thats not the speakers fault!

2002 Ford F-150
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed in a 1997-2003 style Ford F150. Initially just swapped these for the factory speakers. You can definitely tell a difference versus the stock 5x7/6x8s. Then wanting to reduce outside noise, installed Dynamat (about 70% coverage) on the inside of the outer door skin, then a layer (about the same coverage) of the dynaliner (1/8" variety), then did the same one layer of dynamat (about 95% coverage) and one layer of the dynaliner (same coverage) to the inner door skin (that's the part of the door the door panel attaches to). Wow, doors sound much more solid when you close them or give them a thump. Much less road noise. Had a two week time delay between doing the front driver's door and the front passenger door, so you could definitely tell a difference. The reason I bring all of that up on the speaker review is that it definitely helped the speakers as even with the factory head unit (i.e. factory wattage) the DXi 570's midbass is much more alive with all but the necessary holes in the doors closed up. Wow, so much so that I'm rethinking whether I even need to waste more space on a sub. Of course, they don't go sub deep (frequency-wise), but there is plenty of great midbass. All around great sound to them. Can't wait to get the amp I bought from Crutchfield also hooked up.

Pros: fit factory locations, sound great off factory head unit

Cons: none so far

2006 Mercury Milan
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these to replace my factory Ford speakers in a '06 Mercury Milan with 8 speaker audiophile system. I put one in each door, disconnected the tweeters by the side mirrors, and kept the factory sub-woofers in the rear deck. The sound is a great improvement. You actually can "feel" the music now--these speakers move some air compared to the old ones. Also, the sound is much more clear--there were some songs you couldn't make out the lyrics because the sound was muddled and some of the sounds like cymbals were not right--no longer a problem with these. I don't know if speakers actually need to be "broken in" or not, but it did take a while for them to sound right--might be my ears getting used to the difference. It took some time tweaking the tone, bass, and fade controls to get it right as well, but once I did, it was a significant improvement for the $$. If you're building a high dollar system, these might not be for you. If you're looking to upgrade from a stock system and want a good mix of highs, lows, mids, and bass--these are a good option.

Pros: Easy fit in stock location.

Cons: Wasn't clear if I needed the 1/2" spacers--had to open door panels a second time to take them out.

Sound Great

2007 Ford Five Hundred
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased these to upgrade my factory speakers in my 2007 Ford Five Hundred. Bought two pair thinking that since they are both the same size they will fit both the front and rear doors. After purchase, I did a little more research and saw that these were listed as not fitting the front door because the speakers were .2 inches too deep. I figured I could buy some kind of spacers to build them out to avoid a depth issue. After installing, I found that there is no depth issue and they fit both the front and back. The only issue was the speaker wire adapters needed to be zip tied to avoid hitting the window. I cranked them up and 'WOW' what an upgrade over the factory speakers, not a lot of bass but the bass is clear and not I'm looking at amps, subs and a new Head Unit.....the upgrade bug has bitten! The installation guide from Crutchfield was a great help for the installation. It walks you through step by step.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just recently upgraded my head to a Kenwood HD radio and CD with the inputs for Ipod beause my old Ford F150 head died. I was really anxious to try it out and especially the HD radio feature. I was overwhelmed with the sound quality from the Kenwood but it has more power and was maxing out my stock speakers. Decided to replace with these Polk Audio speakers. I was anxious again to receive them. I installed them on a Saturday. Had to remove all of my door panels which was easy and the installation was a cinch except that the speaker mounting holes were not an exact match for the Ford F150, but it was managable. I purposely turned down the volume real low just to make sure the speakers were wired correctly during the installation. (Didn't want to spoil the finale) Once everything was wired and working ...... Crank It UP!!! The speakers worked flawlessly and are OUTSTANDING .... Kick A**!! It was definately worth the wait, worth the reasonable money I spent, and the installation was a cinch. I'm hearing incredible highs and deep bass punch and have never been happier!! Thanks to all at Crutchfield for the recommendation and I highly recommend Crutchfield and specifically these speakers..!!

Wow! Bought one pair for the front of my 1999 F150 SCab, got the second pair at half price! Tremendous sound and improvement over stock speakers. Nice fit and seamless with the provided wiring adapters. Again, so much rich detail from these speakers. My local Best Buy had the Polk Audio 660 amp on sale, which I purchased and had installed a few days after having these speakers installed, great match. The amp really showcased how much thump these speakers can produce on the low end, yet they still retain crystal clear highs. If I had to do it over again, I would have spent a little more on the Polk Audio MM571 because I prefer the glass fiber composite woofers. For some reason, I just did not see them when I made my purchase. However, the dxi does not disappoint!

High Efficiency Design: The Polk Audio DXi Series speakers feature a high efficiency design; meaning better sound and more volume using less power.

Dynamic Balance Driver Technology: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.

Klippel Optimized Components: For a driver to reproduce complex sounds accurately, the cone must move exactly the same distance and manner in both directions. The Klippel distortion analyzer, a device that uses a laser and sophisticated software to do large-scale analysis of drivers in motion, lets Polk optimize the speaker's motor structure, voice coil alignment, and suspension to yield the best possible performance.

Composite Cones: Each Polk DXi 570 speaker features a Dynamic Balance, polymer/mica composite cone woofer. These composite cones feature tremendous stiffness-to mass ratio. Lower mass means faster transients and finer detail.

Rubber Surrounds: For a smoother response and improved durability, the speaker uses rubber surrounds.

Silk Dome Tweeters: Each Polk DXi 570 speaker features a 3/4" silk/polymer dome tweeter for clear, accurate highs. The tweeters employ a light-weight neodymium magnet for higher efficiency.
