With its four-speaker array, the system delivers balanced sound in a 360° radius.
There's a simple way to get room-filling sound from your iPhone or iPod. It's the Polk I-Sonic Digital Audio System (DAS). The I-Sonic DAS is a self-contained system that fits easily on a kitchen table or nightstand. In addition to a built-in dock for your iPhone or iPod, the I-Sonic also has an AM/FM radio tuner, and a digital alarm.
The I-Sonic's four-speaker array creates a spacious 360° soundfield by having one pair of speakers fire forward and the other pair fire rearward. The sound is balanced no matter whether you're standing in relation to the system. And the I-Sonic features Polk's patented PowerPort® technology to deliver solid, well-rounded bass. A powerful built-in amplifier ensures accurate and dynamic sound reproduction at all volume levels. You'll experience rich, natural sound throughout your room.
You can dock your iPhone directly to the I-Sonic and enjoy not only music stored on your device, but audio from any streaming music services or Internet radio stations you normally access through your phone.
Don't have a device compatible with the dock? Just use the auxiliary input and you're in business. If you have an iPhone 5 or other Apple portable that uses a Lightning connector, you can either get an adapter for the dock, or use the auxiliary input.

good sound and easy operation
Great sound! I bought it to use as an iPod dock but even the sound from the FM tuner is excellent.. I didn't want to spend a lot on such a device but I bought it during a price reduction and I feel it was well worth the money. I have not heard a Bose unit, but I can't imagine it sounds any better than this one.
Pros: Great sound and adjustable bass and treble.
Cons: Would have preferred a built in antenna system for this money rather than having to attach AM and FM cables.
Amazing sound as one would expect out of a Polk product. Gave this as a gift to my son in law and he couldn't believe how good it sounded.
Pros: Great sound, great price!
Cons: No built in CD player
Overview: The I-Sonic Digital Audio System from Polk is an advanced, high-powered tabletop speaker dock for your iPod and iPhone. It also includes a built-in AM/FM Tuner, auxiliary input, and headphone output. Polk's I-Sonic 4-speaker array, on-board amplifier, advanced digital signal processing, and patented PowerPort technology all work together to create dynamic, full-range, room-filling sound.
I-Sonic 4-Speaker Array Technology: The Digital Audio System features Polk's exclusive I-Sonic patented 4-speaker array technology that create 360-degrees of room filling audiophile sound. Inside the sleek body of the I-Sonic is twin speaker pairs. One pair of speakers fires forward, while one pair of speakers fires rearward, projecting your audio in a more realistic way. You will hear big, lifelike sound everywhere in the room, even if you are to the side or behind the unit. By manipulating the signals to the speakers through a pattern of signal cancellation, reinforcement and delays, Polk Audio engineers created a larger sound stage and more specific imaging. The result is a rich, full stereo image projected all around the I-Sonic Digital Audio System into the room, with the clarity and spacious sound.
Note: Place the I-Sonic iPod speaker dock on a flat surface such as a table, countertop, TV stand, or bookshelf. In order to get the maximum benefits of the I-Sonic, place the unit so that the rear speakers are not blocked.
PowerPort Bass Technology: Enhancing the I-Sonic's unique 4-speaker array is a hidden PowerPort bass vent on the bottom of the I-Sonic that cuts turbulence as it funnels moving air from the interior baffles, creating realistic low end response that adds surprising width and depth. PowerPort Technology allows the Polk I-Sonic to deliver more deep, musical bass than you'd expect from a moderately sized table-top speaker dock.
High-Powered Amplifier: The I-Sonic Digital Audio System's 4-speaker array is powered by a powerful onboard digital amplifier.
DSP: Exclusive new Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms ensure incredible audio coverage in any sized room, at any volume level.
Bass & Treble Controls: The I-Sonic has user adjustable Bass & Treble controls. This simple feature allows you to adjust the sound to suit your personal taste or to compensate for sonic flaws in program material. The Bass & Treble can be set independently from -6 to +6.
"Made for iPod/iPhone" Dock: The I-Sonic Digital Audio System from Polk features a top-panel Apple 30-pin dock connector to dock your iPod or iPhone device. The iPod nano (7th gen), iPod touch (5th gen), and iPhone 5 will require the Apple Lightning to 30-pin adapter or Lightning to 30-pin cable (both, sold separately) in order to dock with this system. The I-Sonic supports playback of music stored on your iPod/iPhone or music apps downloaded to your Apple device. You can control basic playback functions such as Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track, and Fast Forward/Reverse from the I-Sonic's top-panel controls or the included remote. Your iPod/iPhone remains fully functional so you can operate your Apple device's advanced playback functions from its clickwheel or touchscreen. The speaker dock will also display song/artist information from music stored on your iPod/iPhone and from select music apps (such as Pandora). In addition, our iPod/iPhone's battery will be charged while docked. The Polk I-Sonic is "Made for iPod/iPhone" compatible and supports the following iPod/iPhone model functions (as of 12/12/2012):
|iPod Model||Generation||Tested Version||Media Type||Control Type||Display Type||Charge|
|Audio||Video||Dock/Remote||iPod/iPhone||Artist/Song Text||Track Info|
