Our take on the Infinity Reference 5032cf

Rely on Infinity to revitalize the sound in your car. Replace your tired-out, old factory speakers with Reference Series full-range speakers that'll play your music louder and better.

Rely on Infinity to revitalize the sound in your car. Replace your tired-out, old factory speakers with Reference Series full-range speakers that'll play your music louder and better.

The Reference 5032cf 5-1/4" speakers feature a Plus One+ woofer design that packs more surface area into the cone so you get more low-frequency punch. You can swivel the edge-driven textile dome tweeters to aim them for the best soundstage. Large voice coils in the tweeters allow for high power-handling, and you can adjust the tweeters' sound to your liking with the level control. Grilles are not included — factory grilles are appropriate for most installations, but optional grilles are available.

Important Note: These Infinity Reference speakers use a low impedance design to pull more power safely from your car stereo or amplifier. This design is compatible with virtually all factory and aftermarket stereos.

Installation Note: These Infinity speakers do not include screws or speed clips. You may be able to use the factory screws to install them, but it's always a good idea to have an assortment of self-tapping screws (5/8" to 1") and speed-clips on hand.

The most incredible full sounding speaker.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I put these speakers into my Lexus SC400; along with a JVC stereo and Kenwood speakers which I also got from Crutchfield. The infinity reference speakers live up to infinity's legendary reputation of full and lifelike sound; especially for a 5 1/4 " speaker. I still can't believe how incredible the whole system sounds. I keep looking for excuses just to get into my car and go somewhere to listen to it. Thank you Crutchfield!

Pros: Legendary full sounding.

Cons: None

Quality product and sound on a budget

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Infinity Reference 5032cf speakers I purchased to replace the factory door speakers in my 2008 Civic sedan. Right out of the box I could tell these were a major upgrade from the plastic and cardboard stock 6 1/2 door speakers. Those didn't even have a magnet. I'm not sure how Honda's factory speakers even function!

Pros: High quality parts and manufacturing as is expected with the infinity brand. Crisp clear sound.

Cons: Not much in the low range. This also could be a result of purchasing 5 1/4 speakers instead of 6 1/2.

Great speakers for the money

1998 Ford Expedition
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers were installed in a 1998 Ford Expedition. I bought these speakers as a first time stereo up-grader on the recommendation of Crutchfield outlet store. Wow, I am so glad those guys suggested these speakers. These speakers are nothing short of incredible. The sound quality is amazing, very clear/sharp highs and good mids (I will address bass later as it seems to be a common complaint). These speakers are very efficient which means that you don't have to crank the volume to hear them. All in all I would recommend. About the bass.... These SPEAKERS are NOT SUBS A lot of people say they have less bass than the factory speakers they remove and that is probably true. The reason is factory speakers are designed to give bass, which allows car companies to get around adding a sub. These are made to work in a DESIGNED system where most bass is delivered via a sub, not these speakers. Without a sub, the sacrifice for bass is sound quality and these speakers are about sound QUALITY, not bass. Also, ALL speakers have a break in period. I was extremely disappointed with the bass out of the box with these speakers. I had the bass all the way up on my KDCX395 radio and it was hardly there. Given a week or so of easy break-in, these things will shake my mirrors and the bass is excellent considering I do NOT have a sub installed.

Pros: Well made Great sound quality Adjustable tweeter

Cons: Mediocre bass response (improves over time) *MOUNTING SCREWS ARE NOT INCLUDED*

These speakers sound very clear.

Awesome Speakers

Mark N from Camarillo, CA on 5/20/2011

Bought these to replace the garbage sony speakers in my jeep. Wow what a difference these have crisp clear sound. For anyone complaining "theres not enough bass" these are speakers not subs. Get a sub and you won't have any complaints. I ran these off my head unit for a while, but recently switched to an amp and now I have their RMS maxed out. I can't believe how good they sound! I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone looking for a great price and quality.

Good OEM speaker replacement

DR from Farmington, MN on 10/7/2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Used these to replace rear OEM speakers on Honda Civic 4DR. Factory Head Unit. Tried Infinity Kappa, Kicker. Neither produced much volume. These speakers were definitely louder. Not much Bass but the front speakers are OEM 6 1/2 speakers and produce decent bass. Just needed to replace the poor rear speakers. Sounded much better without any rear speakers at all !!!!! These Infinity references sound pretty decent and with bass from the fronts, it works very well. If i replace the head unit, then who knows, but i dont want to do that right now. And, of course, Crutchfield customer service was great. Was happy to take my order over the phone after initial product advice. And, they promptly refunded me the entire amount for the Kappa's that i returned. And the technical support guy recommended the Reference speakers for the factory Head Unit. Thanks Crutchfield. You now have a loyal customer.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers are worse than my factory speakers! The most disappointing of all is the instructions are useless and the brackets they send have no instructions or diagrams. In fact, I'm pretty sure they sent me the wrong ones, I ended up making my own mold structure.

Great replacement for my LHS door speakers

jim from Villa Park, il on 3/22/2010

1996 Chrysler LHS
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The oem speakers were really good to begin with. These speakers are perfect replacements. The bass is perfect , any more and the car would rattle (infact I had to insulate the panel on the window switches). You could definitely upgrade to a higher level like Infinity Kappa 52.9i to drastically surpass the incredible stock system, but if your not looking to make the rest of the system a bottle neck these are absolutely perfect. They have trebble boost (3db) switch on the cones, they came with wiring harness so i didnt have to chop my factory connectors which made me really happy (when I sell the car the old ones are going back in) They have sticky foam to line the rim which makes the back pressure perfect. For direct replacement of those hard to find discontinued stock door speakers these will make you smile every time you get in the car as they do me. I got exactly what I wanted Be careful installing them as the tweeters are beveled (at an angle) and point down if you put them in upside down.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Disappointed with the quality and quantity of the bass has no 'feeling to it'. The tweeter response is very good, while the mid-range sounds slightly muffled (flat). Overall, maybe I needed to spend more money and get a whole new system. But I thought after market speakers would sound better than the OEM's, which they don't. I'm disappointed.

Product Research

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone significantly larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and a significant increase in efficiency.

Woofer Materials: Each woofer is constructed from Injection-Molded Polypropylene. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. It is also lighter weight and more rigid for decreased distortion and improved bass response.

Hi-roll Rubber Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output.

Textile Dome Tweeters (UniPivot Design): Each speaker uses an edge-driven textile dome tweeter for smooth, accurate highs. The UniPivot design allows the tweeter to be pointed at the listeners location even when the speaker is mounted off axis. This optimizes the stereo image and ensures a more uniform response. The tweeter housing can be turned approximately 315 degrees.

Tweeter Level Control: A switch on the front of the tweeter allows you to boost the tweeter output 3dB, useful if the speakers are mounted low in a door where high frequencies are easily absorbed.

Optional Grilles: The speakers do not come with any grilles. Optional grilles (108REF5032) can be purchased separately.

True Four Ohm Impedance Technology: The speaker's 2.0-ohm impedance combined with the impedance of your speaker wire provides a true 4-ohm load to your connected headunit or amplifier.
