Infinity Kappa 60.3cs
6-1/2" Component Speaker System
Our take on the Infinity Kappa 60.3cs
Infinity's Kappa 60.3cs 6-1/2" component system brings dazzling sound quality to your car, thanks to Ceramic-Metal Matrix Diaphragm technology. First developed for Infinity's state-of-the-art home speaker systems, C.M.M.D.s are made by bonding an aluminum cone with two surrounding layers of ceramic, forming a high-performance driver of superior accuracy.
The 6-1/2" C.M.M.D. woofer (with cast polymer basket) and 1" C.M.M.D. dome tweeter create sonic perfection, while an audiophile-quality 2-way crossover (computer matched to this system) provides flawless matching of components. The tweeter can be flush-, surface-, or angle-mounted for optimum imaging. 3-year warranty.Details:
- C.M.M.D. 6-1/2" woofer with rubber surround Plus One design cone is 30% larger than standard 6-1/2"s

C.M.M.D. Plus One Woofer Cones: These speakers use cones approximately 30% larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a new basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One design offers greater bass output and a significant increase in efficiency. In addition, the C.M.M.D. cones virtually eliminate coloration due to cone flexing, resulting in less distortion and superior accuracy.
Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output.
Adapter Rings: These speakers come with three different mounting adapters. The adapters allow the speakers to be installed in a 6-1/2" opening, a 6-3/4" opening, or an oversized 6-3/4" GM/Chrysler opening.
Tweeter Materials: Each tweeter features a 1" C.M.M.D. dome that offers superior stiffness and damping compared to traditional metal domes. Each tweeter is driven by a powerful neodymium magnet, resulting in higher power handling and superior detail.
"I-Mount" Tweeter Mounting System: Surface mounting involves mounting the surface mount cup (using the supplied screws), then snapping the tweeter into the cup. Flush mounting is made easy through the use of the threaded flush mount adapter and plastic locking nut. For flush mounting, the tweeter is snapped into the flush mount cup. Then, the cup is secured to the flush mount adapter with a nut and clip washer. Once a cutout is made, the flush mount adapter (with the tweeter installed) is inserted into the hole. The large plastic locking nut is threaded onto the adapter (from behind the mounting surface) to hold the complete assembly securely in place. When flush mounted, the tweeters may be angled for optimum response and imaging. There are no provisions for angled surface mounting of the tweeters.
Tweeter Mounting Dimensions:
|Surface Mount||Flush Mount|
|Depth||(0.459" screw depth)||1.157"|
2-Way Crossovers: These speakers include computer-optimized, voice-matched crossovers. Each crossover features an 18dB/octave, 3.5kHz high-pass network for the tweeter and an 18dB/octave, 3.5kHz low-pass network for the woofer.
Input/Output Connections: The crossover inputs and outputs are gold-plated screw terminals.
Mounting: There are two mounting holes in the base of each crossover.
Crossover Dimensions: L=4.263", W=3.062", H=1.389"
