Infinity's engineering talent combines with 21st century technology to produce a component system that delivers superb musical detail and incredible power handling.

"Perfect." It takes a lot of confidence to use that word to describe a product. But, after hearing the Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 6-1/2" component system, you'll understand why Infinity chose the name. Infinity's engineering talent combines with 21st century technology to produce a component system that delivers superb musical detail and incredible power handling.

The 6-1/2" woofer's aluminum construction allows the reproduction of deep bass at high levels, while the butyl rubber surround minimizes speaker distortion for remarkable clarity. The 1" anodized aluminum dome tweeter is suspended by a butyl rubber surround, dampening the resonant frequency of the tweeter for increased accuracy and excellent power handling. The tweeter can be flush- or surface-mounted — when flush-mounted, the tweeter can be angled to improve imaging.

The 2-way crossover uses a 3500 Hz (24 dB/octave) high-pass filter for the tweeter and a 3500 Hz (24 dB/octave) low-pass filter for the woofer for exceptionally natural sound. Each crossover features 3-way selectable tweeter output (-4 dB, 0 dB, +5 dB) for optimizing your system's response. Infinity has created a component system for the most demanding listener — don't settle for anything less than Perfect!

unreal clarity

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers are truly amazing for the price. I cleanly installed them in my 1997 accord along with kappa rears 693i and two 12" kicker cvr subs. I had an audiobahn 400 watt amp powerering the components which was fine, but would be alot cleaner with an infinity amp. You can hear things in the music you've never heard before with NEVER ANY DISTORTION even when the volumes to high to sit in the car. Highs are a little harsh sometimes and they take frequent adjusment with reciever, only because all music is recorded differently. Keep in mind that I fanatically adjust everything and maybe it won't be a problem for you. I actually rolled that car while "adjusting" the stereo but was able to salvage every component and will put them in my 98 TL.

Perfect does not even begin to describle the sound quality

If they fit your whip, there should be nothing hold'n you back, Get'm in....

A PRETTY GOOD VALUE

RYAN from OKLAHOMA CITY, OK on 5/27/2005

THE CONSTRUCTION OF THESE SPEAKERS IS SUPERB AND IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THEY SPARED NO EXPENSE IN MANUFACTURING THESE, ALTHOUGH I MUST SAY I WAS SURE EXPECTING THEM TO KNOCK MY SOX OFF. IT DOES SEEM AS THOUGH I COULD HAVE SPENT 400 IN A BETTER WAY, BUT I MUST ADMIT THEY DO SOUND MUCH BETTER THAN A LOT OF 61/2s OUT THERE.

They weren't kidding when they said PERFECT

Will from Flemington, NJ on 4/8/2005

They really weren't kidding when they said perfect. These are the best speakers I've heard in a car. I have them in my 95 Maxima. I have the tweeters mounted on my door next to the window so they are almost ear level and they sound so amazing. There is no distortion at the levels I listen to (which is pretty high!) I'm going to be amplifying these speakers soon and I can't wait to hear the result!!

Cons:

Perfect, Like no other.

Clement from Mount Crawford, Virginia on 2/21/2005

All I can say is Perfect is the right word for these, they are incredible. These speakers sound like you are at a concert in the front row and you'll hear everything like the artist intended it to be heard. You can't go wrong with these very High-end Component Speakers. Make sure you have at least a 70x2 amp or more to run these power hungry great sounding speakers.

CPB, Mount Crawford, Va

Features

Woofer Cone Materials: The woofer cone's deep anodized-aluminum construction provides extremely high stiffness for its moving mass, allowing the speakers to reproduce deep-bass frequencies at high levels. The woofers feature 1.5" voice coils.

Butyl Rubber Woofer Surrounds: The butyl rubber surround has greater internal loss than standard urethane, preventing harmonic distortion at higher frequencies. It more efficiently absorbs edge reflections that can cause audible distortion, resulting in clearer bass performance.

Tweeter Materials: The 1" tweeters feature an anodized-aluminum dome suspended by a rubber surround. The tweeters are driven by a powerful neodymium magnet, resulting in higher power handling and superior detail. The rubber surround helps reduce the resonant frequency of the tweeter, giving you cleaner, more accurate reproduction.

"I-Mount" Tweeter Mounting System: Surface mounting involves mounting the surface mount cup (with two screws), then snapping the tweeter into the cup. Flush mounting is made easy through the use of the threaded flush mount adapter and plastic locking nut. For flush mounting the tweeter is snapped into the flush mount cup. Then the cup is secured to the flush mount adapter with a nut and clip washer. Once a cutout is made, the flush mount adapter (with the tweeter installed) is inserted through the hole. The large plastic locking nut is threaded onto the adapter (from behind the mounting surface) to hold the complete assembly securely in place. When flush mounted, the tweeters may be angled for optimum response and imaging. There are no provisions for angled surface mounting of the tweeters

Selectable Tweeter Output Level: Each crossover has 3 adjustments that allow you to select the tweeter output level according to system requirements and personal preference. The adjustments may be set to "-4dB", "5dB" or "0dB".

2-way Crossovers: The included crossovers use a 24dB/octave, 3500Hz high pass filter for the tweeters and a 24dB/octave, 3500Hz low pass filter for the woofers.

Crossover Mounting: There are 4 mounting holes in the base of each crossover; screws to mount the crossovers are not supplied. The crossovers are not weather proof, so they should not be mounted in locations, such as door panels, that will expose them to direct contact with water.

Gold Plated Crossover Terminals: The crossover terminals are gold plated for corrosion resistance.
