Good speakers. I had to modify the mounting ring so that it would fit in the Nissan Frontier front door mounting rings. Once I got passed that issue with the first speaker installation, the second speaker only took 30 minutes to install. They sound good in the little truck.

Pros: Good sound

Cons: had to customize the plastic mounting ring

Great speaker for the price. Replaced factory rear door speakers and what a difference with my Infinity factory system.

Pros: Sound, ease of installation.

Cons: Not a direct fit. I needed to drill 2 new mounting holes, but yhat was identified up front.

The sound is Rich and FULL spectrum. Nice bass and the high notes make the trumpet pop. The wiring kit made it a breeze to install. I had more problems removing the power window wiring from my door than I did installing the speakers! if you need to replace the speakers in your 2005 Silverado these are the ones.

Pros: easy to mount easy to wire

Cons: no cloth cover to keep the dirt out but you can always use an old pair of nylons.

Very Impressed

Tyler from Auburn, ME on 11/2/2016

1999 Jeep Wrangler
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm upgrading the sound sytem in my 99 Wrangler TJ and these were perfect for what I wanted. The cover looks 10x better than the original and the sound quality is amazing. They can handle a lot more than I thought they could. I also bought a Pioneer receiver and they sound even better with that. They were a pain and a half to line up the holes on the Jeep itself but that had nothing to do with the quailty of the speakers. Good job Crutchfield with the early delivery as well. Very satisfied.

Pros: They sound amazing, look slick, and they fit perfectly.

Cons: Screwing them into place is a pain but again, nothing to do with the speakers. It's going to the be same with any other speakers.

Good sound, relatively easy install

Steve from Fredericksburg, Ohio on 9/21/2016

1999 Volkswagen Jetta
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed these speakers in all four doors of 1999 MKIV Jetta. Original speakers had died of old age. Speakers were supplied with the adapter plastic ring and adapter cable. Like the original speakers the adapter ring had to be riveted into place because the speaker hole in the door is flanged. The flange makes using nut clips impossible without cutting the flange out. The adapter ring holes matched well with the original holes in location and size. Riveting them in with pop rivets was a breeze. The hardware holding the speakers into the adapter ring was a flat knurled self locking bolt that wedged itself into the plastic. A bit difficult to tell just when it was tight enough as I am sure you could pull the head all the way up the plastic channel in the mounting ring with enough force. I used a heat glue gun to secure the nuts on the bolts as locking hardware was not provided. There were no depictions of this particular hardware in either the adapter ring or speaker instructions. The cable provided to mate the speaker to the VW connector worded perfectly on the vehicle connector end. The small (1/8) push on connector for the speaker negative terminal was too loose on all four assemblies. Took some pliers and squeezed the folds in the connector shut a bit more and that did the trick. Speakers sound great.

Pros: Everything supplied fit well without any modifications to the vehicle.

Cons: Speaker adapter ring instructions (hardware) a bit weak. Adapter cable harness connector had to be tweaked on the speaker end.

Golf Cart Speakers

Needed a decent pair of speakers for my golf cart. These speakers were priced right and do the trick. I would not use them in a high dollar vehicle sound system but would make for a great upgrade from low quality stock speakers. Exactly what I needed.

Pros: Price

Cons:

It has been several years since I made any repairs or modifications to a vehicle. My daughter purchased a used car and the speakers were blown. Ordering was easy. Delivery went exactly as planned. The installation guide made it super easy. I have been a Crutchfield customer since before the internet. Because of their product quality, outstanding customer service and commitment to excellence I remain a very satisfied customer. Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased these speakers to replace and perform like the original Jensen factory speakers that came in this vehicle. I wasn't looking for an upgrade. The sound is pretty decent and while not as good as the factory speakers they were close. I am satisfied with the overall performance in this stock 24 year old jeep.

Pros: Good sound and easy to install with the mounting holes and screws matching up. Great service from Crutchfield and pricing was very competitive, too.

Cons: Sound could be a little better but no real cons.

Ok for the price...

Speaker too small for supplied bracket

GQ from Boston, MA on 5/9/2016

2014 Mazda CX-5
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Using Crutchfield's advice that these would fit the rear doors of my Mazda CX5. Unfortunately the speakers are too small for the supplied bracket. Sure you can score the speakers to the bracket, but that leaves about a 1/4" gab between the edge of the speaker and the edge of the bracket. It seems to me there is plenty of room using the supplied bracket for a larger speaker. Also there are no wiring harnesses available and the supplied instructions do not indicate which wires are which. If you look at the back of the OEM speakers you can maybe determine which is positive and which is negative. Unfortunately for me I did not figure this out until I wired the new speakers out of phase. My bad, but one would hope the wiring would be indicated in the otherwise excellent instructions provided by Crutchfield. Also there is no path to route the wires between the bracket and the sheet metal of the door, and there is no water shield on the bracket.

Pros: Crisp excellent sound vast improvement over OEM speakers (I did not have the BOSE option in my Mazda)

Cons: Too small for the supplied bracket, leaving a 1/4" air gap. Also the supplied bracket does not have anyway to route the speaker wires, so you must make a hole in the sheet metal for the wires, or use an existing hole.

2000 Buick Century
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these as replacement to the factory speakers. Overall sound quality is weak, soft bass and the higher freq's are are unimpressive. These were installed in the front doors and are being run off the factory head unit. Although I'm sure a head unit with more power could give these speakers more life I'm just not convinced the sound quality would meet my expectations. Who knows. In any case they sound better than the blown speakers they replaced.

Pros: Low Price

Cons: Weak Sound

They were on sale and for this price point the speakers can't be beat. However my amp overpowers them at less than half volume. I was on a budget the day I bought them. I should have bought a better speaker. All said they have great sound if kept in the right volume range.

Pros: Great for stock stereo systems

Cons: No so great when amp is used

Can't say enough about Crutchfield, excellent service, all the parts sent with the speakers fit my factory location perfectly, and everything was smooth with shipping. Great job Crutchfield!

Pros: Sound great, fit in factory location

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great replacement speakers for my cobalt. They do not distort when turned up. They also sound twice as good as my stock speakers. I'll keep it short, they do what they are supposed to do and do it well. Top of the line of course not. But it if your on a budget, these will hold you over nicely. They are not made like the crap that comes in a stock system. Very happy with purchase. Bass is shallow but there. I mean it is not going to rattle the windows,Get a powered box for that. Overall fit is fine and Crutchfield sent me everything so install was quick and easy. On a 1-10 I would give these a 6 they are clear when loud and major improvement over stock.

Pros: Clarity/ not made of paper. Easy install. Major improvement over stock.price can't be beat

Cons: Shallow bass
