Nice speakers, great sound in my 24-year old Explorer. The truck rattles a bit (I live in the mountains on a dirt road), but these speakers deliver clear sound from either talk/news or diverse music stations.

1998 Ford F-150
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are excellent speakers. I bought them on a bit of a chance after a LOT of internet research. Jensen seems to have a less than stellar rep lately, but these are awesome. If you're looking at full range door speakers, look first at specs = frequency range and materials. These have a very low frequency range compared to most coax speakers, and it shows up. You'll get the lows in your music, especially if you have an equalizer on your head unit. The mids and highs are great, very clear (silk dome tweeters!). I got these for my daughter's 2004 Mazda 3 (with tweeters in the front door sails), put them in the front doors with some Cerwin Vega HED 3-ways series in the rear doors. Those are pretty good, but honestly I wish I'd got a second set of these for the rear. The doors vibrate with the bass in her music. Not subwoofer bass you feel more than hear, but dang, these are really good for full range coax speakers! Highly recommended for stock upgrade. These ar being run off the stock Mazda 3 head unit, not a lot of power, and they get very loud (uncomfortably so) without distorting. She's happy, I'm happy, all good!

Pros: Great sound, great specifications, low frequency response pays off, silk tweeter, sound great on low power stock head unit.

Cons: For full range door speakers on stick head unit, no cons at all.

Cheap speakr. Cheap sound.

2014 Mazda 5
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Maybe it's not fair for me to hate these speakers because they are really cheap. I was thinking that they had to at least be better than the factory speakers in my Mazda 5. Wrong. These speakers are pretty flat and have zero bottom end. Having a separate tweeter design made a very slight improvement over the factory "full range" paper cone but the overall effect is a shrill and annoying cheap speaker. At least the factory speakers had some thick full sound, even if muddy. Spend more for a real Jensen Speaker instead of these sub-brand cheapies.

Pros: Inexspensive.

Cons: Lousy sound with almost zero bottom.

Decent sound for the price point, but a little distorted under bass conditions. Fit was good, easy to replace behind the seat speakers on my F250. Overall, a good value for the price, but if I were putting together a really nice system, rather than just a moderate upgrade to my OEM system, I would spend the extra $$.

2014 Ford F-150 STX
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Put these 4 speakers on the stock 2014 F150 Supercrew STX radio with no sub. The factory speakers were muddy sounding at best. These are certainly a lot more clear with the sound. Bass response is improved considerably, it will vibrate the door mirrors at volume. Highs are crystal clear which the factory speakers couldn't. With the instructions and gear sent by Crutchfield, it was an extremely easy install. Took me about an hour for all 4 speakers. The door panels are pretty much snap together with a few screws. You won't mistake these for a high output stereo but if you want better sound using the factory radio, you should consider these.

Pros: Great sound from the Ford factory radio. Price, can't be beat.

Cons: They didn't install themselves. Otherwise, no cons.

One of the speakers went out on my wife's Escape. Install was a breeze and they sound way better than the factory speakers. I will probably pick some up for the rear doors too.

Pros: Inexpensive and much better than factory.

Cons: The grills that come with them look cheap but they are inexpensive speakers to begin with and I didn't need them.

Justin from texas on 7/22/2016

2004 Mazda 3
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased these last week to replace the 12 year old stock speakers in my carspare front and rear doors. Big difference is clarity and loudness but that was to be expected. Couldn't have asked for better product at the price. Don't plan on keeping this car forever but still want to upgrade my system while I do have it. The factory stereo will be next on the list as well as a nice powered sub for the lows since these don't really push a lot of bass out. But they do get loud I can crank up to 29/30 when previously the stocks would sound distorted at 21or 22. They fit good the installation was simple just unscrew old speakers plug in wire adaptor that came with for my model car and screw speakers back in. Total install time maybe an hour but that's taking a small beer break between the fronts and rears. Only con was doing this in south Texas heat. Also wish I could have used the grill covers that came with but my door panels really wouldn't allow that without major cutting up and customizing. Not into hacking up my panels. All in all I'm pleased with my purchase and customers service I had with Crutchfield and will order my head unit and sub in the next few weeks.

Pros: Fast shipping and easy install. Loud clear sound.

Cons: None besides the heat I had to endure but nothing regarding my purchase or speakers themselves

My speakers were totally blown. This is a work truck, so I didn't need studio quality. The speakers did soften up quite a bit after a few hours of playing. I am very happy for the money. If you are trying to keep the budget down, pick these speakers. Just don't expect the same thing as $200 dollar speakers. I would buy them again.

Pros: good for the money!

Excellent Speakers

Rich from Prescott Valley, AZ on 6/20/2016

1994 Mazda B Series
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Direct replacement to the speakers mounted in the doors of my truck. Structural quality was very good with heavy gauge metal for the frame and good looking speaker material. The sound was very good for the highs and mids. The bass was limited by the overall 5"x7" physical size of the speaker. Adjusting the EQ setting on my unit brought out the best of these speakers and since they are coupled with speakers behind the seats, they rear speakers do the heavy bass and the fronts carry the rest. The sound is very impressive and I'm very satisfied with the results of this sound project. Crutchfield is my only source when purchasing car audio equipment since they have tech support that are easy to communicate with and this company always includes the needed factory connections for each specific vehicle listed.

Pros: Excellent build quality, Reasonable price, Ease of install

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Speakers are nicely made, I like the poly cone. Had to ream out the mounting holes about 3/16" to the inside to align screws. The Metra harness connector ($10 separate) made hookup a snap. Sounds great, reasonable power w/o distortion. Bass & mid-range response good, treble OK. The 1812 cannon blasts (which finished the original 22 yr. old paper cone speakers) sound great! Paired with Kenwood 3-way speakers in the front, its a well balanced system.

Pros: Good price, poly cones, good fit

The speakers were an exact fit for the missing original speakers in a rat 1993 Ford FISO. The went in easy, sounded good, and were reasonably priced.

Pros: Easy to install once seat belts and all factory panels are removed.

Cons: Must re-use original Ford grills, older vehicles usually are missing way too many fasteners, and old vehicles usually have stripped threads and rusted hardware to contend with.

excellent replacement for blown speaker

Peter M from South Bend, IN on 4/4/2016

2005 Ford Freestar
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The front passenger speaker on my '05 Freestar was blown and would buzz unless the volume was extremely low. We got around it for a while by balancing all the sound to the left side, but who wants to do that long-term? (Not me). Found these speakers which were a direct replacement for the stock units and work very well. Highs are crisp but the low end is somewhat empty compared to the stock speakers - however I expect some of this will fill in after the speakers have a chance to break in. Overall the speakers seem a little quieter than the stock ones as well. I'll likely get another pair and replace the rear speakers too so that the sound matches throughout the car.

Pros: Direct replacement for stock speakers, came with wiring harness and mounting screws.

Cons: Not much low end (yet), installation clips a little confusing to figure out at first

Cons: No cons at all

Not Great

MK from Harpers Ferry, WV on 3/31/2016

2011 Ford Mustang
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these for my 2011 Mustang Convertible. I'm not really impressed. The high end is shrill & thread, there is absolutely ZERO bass response. The mids are really nice, clean & sharp. Installation was super easy, but once I fired up my Kenwood Excelon DNX692 (no amp), I was disappointed. I just don't like the response curve. (as I noted). I think the Ford factory speakers sounded better.

Pros: Easy to install, Good price, Nice Mids.

Cons: Shrill highs, ZERO bass.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent product for the price. I was mildly worried about the speaker not having any bass based on reviews I read for the low price but after all I am not buying audiophile speakers. Just upgrading my 11 year old factory speakers. I hooked up the set of 4 to the new head unit I bought with it.. Wow! Like night and day. Great sound. You can't hear my bass coming 2 blocks away but if had wanted that I would have bought a sub woofer. So new speakers and a decent head double din JVC unit for $200 with free shipping. I can listen to my iPhone Apple Music, Pandora, radio or CDs. Cannot beat that! Install was a breeze with provided instructions.

Pros: Good full spectrum sound

Cons: None so far

Easy, affordable upgrade

Robert S from Nevada on 1/10/2016

2004 Ford F-150
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Since I was upgrading my stereo head unit to gain Bluetooth hands-free calling and a backup cam, I figured it made sense to upgrade the factory speakers as well. I'm not a big music listener while in the car, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money and the Jensens fit my budget. The new head unit went in first and there was little to no improvement in sound with the factory speakers, although the equalizer settings helped a bit. Once the Jensens were installed there was a very noticeable improvement. All-in-all I'm very pleased with my new stereo system. Speaker installation on my 2004 F-150 was simple and straightforward with Crutchfield's detailed instructions. The only hiccup was that the instructions stated the wrong socket size for a couple of the bolts in the rear doors, but it only meant I had to find the correct sizes from my socket set. Not a problem, unless you don't already own a complete set of sockets and try to buy only the ones called for individually. Don't be a tightwad; buy a whole set. Bottom line: these speakers are a good affordable upgrade to factory units and I gladly recommend them.

Pros: Affordable price; clean highs and midrange with decent bass; fit factory cutouts without adapters. Come with attractive grilles, if you need them.

Cons: None come to mind.

Woofers: The mica-reinforced Injection Molded Polypropylene (IMPP) woofer cones are rigid and lightweight. The Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) surround is resistant to ultraviolet rays, temperature extremes, and humidity to add to the speaker's reliability and longevity.

Dome Tweeter: Each speaker has a 1" silk dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet. Silk is lightweight and great for high frequency extension and efficiency. It is also designed for durability in the extreme automotive environment.

Mounting Applications: Jensen describes this speaker as a 5x7/6x8, and it fits many applications of both. Please check the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit.
