With some minor trepidation, I entered the process - selection, purchase, preparation, installation. the information provided by Crutchfield and the quick, simple answers to my 2 questions made the installation painless, stressless and direct. Everything worked right away and well. AND i saved the $150 "free installation" fee for less time than the professional installation would have caused me.

Pros: Printed instructions. Diagrams. Additional parts

    Cons: none

    Good cosmetics and adequate performace

Not exactly sure what the "coolness factor" would be for a radio so wasn't exactly sure how to rate, but I guess this radio would be as cool as the rest. I suppose the app radios would probably constitute a 5 on the coolness factor. This radio just does the job I wanted it to do. The only time I ever owned a Jensen product is when I was younger and didn't know any better. Ha! BUT, I will say there's nothing wrong with this radio. I purchased it really for aesthetics (wanted something that blended with the dash and didn't look like a glow stick at night), price, and for the built-in bluetooth. Ease of use for this radio is well... easy. : ) No complaints there. Build quality is probably on par with the others although I did have one button pop out for some reason, but no biggee, popped right back in. The only thing this radio is lacking is power. It doesn't seem terribly powerful, but I mean it's adequate to drive my stock speakers. Just don't expect some night and day difference from your stock head unit; otherwise, so far so good. For the price and built in BT you probably can't find a better unit.

Pros: 1) Has a nice "factory" appearance to it. Lights up pretty well at night but it's not obnoxious like some units. 2) Has built-in blue tooth functionality WITH a separate mic (that's a good option). 3) Good value for the money. 4) Detachable face (if you're somehow worried someone is going to steal your Jensen radio... LOL).

Cons: 1) A little under powered (but they had to cut costs somewhere) 2) Only one set of RCA outputs

    Good Features but dim display

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a good radio, and the iphone controls work well. It holds the radio stations well, in an area that can pick up Philadelphia, Wilmington, and Baltimore stations. However, installed on a 2005 Honda Civic which puts the unit at a tilted angle. The unit seems to be designed to be installed level and the display is brighter if you are looking downward at it but still not bright enough for daylight viewing. Crutchfield sent me a replacement unit with return shipping, but the replacement is only slightly brighter. It seems to be the way it is designed, and there is not brightness adjustment. Fine choice on a budget, if your dash is vertical but any angle will decrease your ability to read the display.

Pros: Good price, good sound with stock speakers. Hands free phone interface (bluetooth) and iPhone controls with remote make teen drivers happy while avoiding distractions. Easy to install.

Cons: Have to use remote to switch to Aux input. Display is unreadable in daylight, and dim at night.

    great system!!

    Pros: Bluetooth audio and calls

Cons: More backlighting to make it easier to read

I just finished installing this receiver, it fits perfectly on my 1997 Mazda truck; a remarkable sound improvement over the original equipment. I appreciate the easy installation and how quickly one can get to use it.

Pros: Quality sound with many input options, ease of installation.

Cons: Minor items: a "routing opening for the microphone and a need for an easier way to adjust the rear support.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good unit, especially for the money. BT worked flawlessly, syncing with my phone. Install took a bit of time but went smoothly- had to sand the provided frame just a bit to make it fit, everything else worked out of the box.. As previously noted, the Radio receiver is a weak point . Even local stations fuzz out on me. Basically, just pretend this unit doesn't have a radio. SD/MMC slot maxes out at 8G. That's a ton of MP3s, but not all I could have put on it. SD/MMC playback will not shuffle (at least as far as I've found). So if you want shuffle you have to hook up to a BT device (so play from your phone and have it shuffle). I don't understand how they didn't put that feature in. CD player works fine with burned CDs, haven't tried MP3-CDs yet. Faceplate case won't stay shut, but I leave the faceplate on so that's not a big issue for me.

    Pros: Good Bluetooth, great value

Cons: Radio sucks SD/MMC size limits, no shuffle on SD/MMC

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good sound if using a CD, SD, or USB device; the FM tuner sensitivity in this unit is 12db and has a hard time holding a good signal in my market. In the suburban areas the tuner would drop while going under power lines, bridges and street lights. In the Chicago neighborhoods even worse and while in the downtown area not even worth using. Two different FM signal boosters to try and compensate the the poor sensitivity and was a little better, but not even close the the stock Shaker500 removed. The Bluetooth paired easily with my Motorola Android phone, but was not able to make or answer a call your experience may vary depending upon the phone. The plastic hard case for the face would not stay closed and very lucky to have purchased a SoundKase DFC1X with my unit to hold it closed. Removed this unit and sold it to the local pawn shop; replaced it with a Sony MEX-BT3100P with a FM 8db sensitivity. I would not purchase this unit or recommend to anyone; go with the Sony for extra $ it is worth it, but be prepared to purchase the hard face case.

Pros: CD, SD or USB playback Decent wattage output

Cons: AM/FM tuner sensitivity Bluetooth Face case quality

    Decent for the price
