Our take on the Jensen MP1516BT by Crutchfield's Ken Nail
Expand your horizons
Tired of your old factory car stereo's limited repertoire of AM, FM, and CDs (or worse yet, cassette tapes?). Step into the here and now with Jensen's MP1516BT CD receiver. You'll still enjoy your favorite radio stations and CDs — though this Jensen's sturdy built-in amp means they'll sound a lot better — and you'll enjoy some cool new features and audio options.
Check out the front panel of the MP1516BT. The CD slot works with your regular discs, and also discs burned with MP3 and WMA files — that's a whole road trip full of music on a single CD. And you'll see a USB input for your iPod® or iPhone®, so you'll have access to your favorite playlists, albums, and artists from the receiver's controls. Need more? You'll find an SD card slot, plus an aux input too.
This Jensen offers Bluetooth connectivity, a detachable face, and a nice remote control.
And there's Bluetooth®, too
Bluetooth is ideal for hands-free calling. No more fumbling for your phone when a call comes in —just touch a button and start talking. The receiver's external microphone ensures your caller will hear you loud and clear. And the stereo keeps track of the last 10 calls, so calling someone back is quick and easy. Bluetooth audio streaming lets you enjoy the music on your smartphone through this Jensen with a wireless connection.
iPod note: If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver.
Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.
Installation was a breeze and the interface is extremely simple and, in a world of receivers with countless (and useless) buttons and gadgets, aesthetically pleasing.
