Music central

When you're ready for some tunes, you've got a lot more options than just CDs. You'll find two USB inputs — use one for MP3 and WMA file playback, and the other for controlling your iPod® or iPhone® from the receiver. iPhone options include control of Pandora® Internet radio from the receiver, too. Adjust the audio with the 3-band equalizer, or keep it simple by selecting one of the eight preset EQ curves.

Video in the car

The front-panel audio/video input provides a convenient connection for your portable audio player, a camcorder, or another video source. With Jensen's optional jLinkUSB cable, you can even watch video from your iPod. The receiver can send movies to rear video screen, and you'll also find an input for a rear-view camera — perfect for when you're maneuvering your vehicle in tight spaces.

Options for navigation and more

If you're building a high-powered system, you'll enjoy the utility of front, rear, and mono subwoofer preamp outputs. You have the option of adding Jensen's NAV-104 navigation module to your system, which brings maps and guidance to your receiver's screen. And for even more music options, you can add on a SiriusXM tuner for unparalleled music, news, sports, and talk.

Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (not included) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this Jensen stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the receiver, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

Note: Bluetooth compatibility of this device may vary, depending on your phone and service provider.

Note: If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver or its optional iPod adapter.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this stereo in September 2012, installed it a month later, and Oct 2013, it stopped working. Can't play music with my iPhone (through any connection) and Bluetooth doesn't connect. I've tried with several friends' phones and through all connections, nothing. From the get-go, the touch display lagged. Even the volume knob was slow! Turning it up or down, there was a lag between the knob and the radio's software actually doing it. Very disappointed but I was gonna live with it, but can't now because it quit working. The only thing that does work is the radio. Nothing else. The sound was always good, and still is listening to the radio. I will never buy a Jensen again with my experience with this one which was a waste of money. During phone calls, the other party could barely hear me unless I put the included mic up to my mouth. The interface menus are not user or driver friendly either which makes it dangerous. When searching through the music, if you don't select something within about 10 seconds because you have to keep your attention on the roadway, the menu automatically goes to the top making you have to scroll down again and keep your attention on the radio. And it doesn't help the interface is slow as well. Good thing this stereo is discontinued. I'm very disappointed in this purchase.

Pros: Sound quality

Cons: Software interface and internal hardware which stopped working less than a year after installing it.

Doesn't Pair With My Phone

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This receiver pumps out some serious sound, with 40 watts/channel. With all of the wallpapers and lighting color schemes, you should be able find something that really enhances the look of your vehicle. All of the features work exceptionally well, except for the Bluetooth. I especially like being able to plug in my iPod Touch and using the big screen to select my playlists, etc. As for getting the unit to pair with your phone, it's pretty much a crap shoot. I have an LG Intuition and I could not get it to pair with the receiver. It's unfortunate as this is the main feature I wanted to use. My LG pairs well with other devices. We even use it at the office as it is the only device that will pair with our Bluetooth credit card reader and printer. I was really surprised and dismayed that the unit would not pair with this phone, but it's been my experience that Bluetooth technology is a bit twitchy anyway.

Pros: Great sound, clean, unobtrusive look when screen is stowed away, good graphics, plenty of options for expansion and customization.

Cons: Difficult to impossible to perform Bluetooth pairing with phone.

Awesome :)

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I wanted a new head unit with Blue Tooth capabilities to replace my OEM stereo in my 99 Tahoe. After shopping around I decided I wanted the Sirius XM as well. I got way more than I bargained for when I decided to buy this one. This system does way more than I thought I would ever need. Anything I can do from my iPhone I can push through the stereo ex. (Audible books app, Pandora app, and the list goes on.)

Pros: Large motorized screen, Blue Tooth, Custom color changing back light. Built in filter controls for bass, mid and treble, backup camera, DVD and video out supported.

Cons: A lot of wires to cram back into dash. I have not found any other Cons as of yet!

this radio doesn't work in 2008 Silverado. The only available harness requires a manual programming for Jensen radios and still didn't work. The installation was attempted by a certified installer.

Cons: not compatible with a 2008 silverado

Not Worth the money compared to Other Radios

2008 Scion xB
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this radio for my daughter for her 18th birthday. I thought is would be cool to have a radio that came out and popped up. She thought it was cool also. First problem with this radio on a Scion xB is that it partially blocks some of the guages. The radio and all of the features work well, except for the Bluetooth. It seems to be an older Bluetooth because it doesn't show the song info on-screen when playing in Bluetooth. If you notice in the pictures for the ad, they only show you the phone dialer keypad and not any of the Bluetooth screens. That should have been my first clue not to get this radio. The song info does show up when connected via the USB cable(extra $), but I didn't want my daughter having to fumble to plug in her phone while driving. It also is not able to connect to the Steering Wheel controls on her car.

Pros: It is pretty cool to have a screen come out and 'POP UP'. When the screen is down and in, it looks like a cheapy radio which would be good for anti theft. The sound is good and setup was easy.

Cons: Songs are not displayed on screen in Bluetooth mode. Unable to connect to steering wheel controls. Other radios that are the same or close to the same cost as this one have more/updated features.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this to replace the stock radio. The list of features on this radio impressed me, but -- after installing it and using it for a couple months I am a little disappointed. The features work but the user interface is very limited and clunky. The touch positions on the screen seem a little off at time. The screen has 'stuck' partially open a couple times. The screen seems to have a mind of its own when choosing to open or stay closed when I start the car. I have connected a backup camera and it has worked without problem (probably the only feature I have not had a problem with). One of the features I really miss from the factory radio is the 'speed volume'. Other than this, the sound quality is good. All in all, I expected more quality and stability for this price.

Pros: Bluetooth, USB, backup camera connection, remote control.

Cons: he touch screen interface is pretty slow and clunky. Software quality is low.

Impressed with this radio. Installation was a snap and works great. I was expecting a lot more lag and slowness like my last Jensen but this unit has none of that.

Pros: Sounds good, lots of features, can change the backlight color to match interior.

Cons: Would like a little more info displayed when the screen is closed

Crutchfield was great. Gave me everything i needed.

Pros: Touch screen.

Cons: Does not accept USB sources, ANY. Only I phone

Ryan from Bristow, VA on 12/17/2012

I bought this for my wife's minivan. We were excited about the features this product offered, but -- having owned Jensen products in the past -- I was skeptical about the build quality and sturdiness of the unit. I pretty much got what I expected for the price. All of the promised features "work", but they are a little clunky and unrefined.

Pros: Bluetooth, USB, iPhone/iPod integration choices.

Cons: The user interface (UI) is pretty slow and clunky. The UI is slow to respond to commands like starting videos from USB. Support for saved video formats/codecs/parameters is limited. (It took me several attempts to encode AVI videos so the unit would consistently play them.) Some features, like fading the audio to the back seats take several button pushes to get to the right interface screen. This screen is not available from every source (e.g. playing USB videos), which is annoying.

Great unit

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm really happy with this unit. So far the only issue I had was that the mic for phone calls that came with the car was DOA, but Crutchfield is shipping out a replacement. I purchased this unit because of tech. Higher end units did not include AD2P for wireless bluetooth streaming that this unit has included. One issue I do have with AD2P is that with my iPhone I'm not getting any sort of meta tags about what song is playing but from what I hear this is a common issue due to the IOS6 upgrade. Hopefully Jensen provides an update to address this issue. What I love about this unit is the touch screen and its multiple options such as backup camera support. I also really enjoy the pandora app built in - when connected to the USB cable all the song meta data and album art is displayed - you also get the same when playing off of the iPod. Sound quality is good.

Pros: AD2P bluetooth streaming Excellent iPod integration Pandora support Good sound Backup camera capable GPS capable Sound quality

Cons: Bluetooth meta tages in IOS 6 not supported

Works Pretty Good

2003 Toyota Matrix
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Was a little intimidated when I started this, I have never put a head unit in a car and had never wired anything prior to this. I did have to purchase some additional tools, a crimping tool/wire cutter/strippers and some crimping caps. Wiring it was pretty easy once I matched everything up. Was amazed at how many extra and accessory wires there were. Wiring the parking brake was the most difficult. I had to remove the center console in my 03 Matrix, it was four bolts and a lighter socket plug. Then just wired the brake cable from the stereo into the brake cable itself. Got the head unit in and it looks and sounds great. I am impressed with how well the blutooth sound comes through and the hands free calling is great.

Pros: Sound quality is great for everything including blutooth for phone calls.

Cons: On screen menus are a little difficult to navigate, but I also haven't read the entire users manual.

Pretty Good, but a few small issues

JTKerch79 from Austin, TX on 9/17/2012

2005 BMW 3 Series
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

All in all, a good product, but a few issues: 1) It's just a tad slow in response when dealing with an iPod or iPhone. You hit a selection and you have to wait a second before it takes the input. This takes some getting used to, as you will think it didn't take the input. This is much less of a problem when hitting "track forward/backward" or "play/pause". Those respond essentially immediately. But everything else is a little slow. 2) There's no search feature (at least that I've found so far). The aforementioned slowness makes this a real issue. If you're like me, and have well over 5000 songs available on the iPhone, you either need to settle for not hearing the exact song you wanted (unless it or the artist starts with an "A", because otherwise you have to scroll through the names alphabetically, and it's not a real scroll, but hit the down arrow and the next set of 8 or so names pop up. 3) With the screen out there's a significant electromagnetic field around it (I haven't tested with the screen closed). It doesn't create noise in the audio but it does interefere with an iphone's ability to receive GPS signals. If my iPhone 4S is within about 5-6 inches of the unit, maybe a little more, m position in GPS gets shifted about 200-300 feet off of the actual position. I had it setup to float in it's holder right by the screen, but have had to move it to the other side of the steering wheel. The special cord's not long enough, so using a different cord, and no video

Pros: Decent appearance, good sound, Pandora functionality, bluetooth works well, and doesn't try to assume that you want to use bluetooth audio when you have a plugged in iPhone.

Cons: Slow communication with iPhone 4S, interferes with iPhone GPS, no clear search feature for iPhone/iPod.

Much Better than stock

2004 Ford F-350
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Not a bad product but has several annoying issues that I am not sure why they don'f fix them. First off, there is no dimming control to dim the screen based you the dimmer adjustment in the vehicle. You have to manually go into settings and change brightness and contrast. Even at that it is still too bright at night. That being said it brings me to this issue. Anytime you press source to go to settings, all of the music features stop except for the radio. The radio will continue to play while you are in the source/settings screen. Third thing is the volume control. The last radio I had the volume was independent on each source. If I have the volume at 20 on the radio and then switch to CD the volume would be where I left it last time I played a CD. The volume control on this one is system wide. Don't forget to turn it way back down when you change from BT phone back to a music source. I understand that this is a low end DVD player but these would be so easy to remedy with software. Had I known about these issues, I would have looked further and purchased another unit.

Pros: Great price, easy setup, and of course the cool factor.

Cons: Volume is system wide, not source dependent Can't listen to music while in setup screen No way to dim from vehicle, only on setup screen and still too bright at night.

love it!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

im just gonna say this is a great unit i had ordered. i ordered the dual xdvd3101x and the touch of it was just slow responsive. i had to touch it with the corner of my finger nail. so i sent it back to crutchfield and got this unit the vm9215bt. i must say it's awesome. i had a old jensen dvd unit in my civic couple of years back and i loved it. you will like this unit if you get it. it's good for the price, plus the add on's you can get later or now if you want too. the blue tooth part of it worked. i had to read the manual in order for it to work. but i got it paired up with my phone and started dailing. i am going to continue ordering the add on stuff for this and im one happy costumer.

Pros: everything

Cons: nothing.
