An impressive array of features

Why replace your factory radio? Most people say they want a receiver that looks great and offers more features. The KDC-BT755HD CD receiver certainly scores big in the looks department, and Kenwood's loaded this receiver with a bunch of features that you'll enjoy:

  • HD Radio™: A built-in tuner lets you enjoy the best sound in free radio, with near CD-quality sound on FM broadcasts. Other HD Radio advantages include the ability to tag tunes for later purchase at the iTunes store, and the access you'll enjoy to the additional programs offered by many stations.
  • Built-in Bluetooth®: This receiver offers hands-free calling and audio streaming, and your phones pair up automatically, thanks to Kenwood's Simple Secure Pairing system. And iPhone users enjoy one-touch pairing when they plug in via USB.
  • Pandora® Internet Radio and iHeart Radio users will appreciate this receiver's excellent built-in controls — connect via USB with your iPhone, or by Bluetooth with your Android, and you can scroll through your stations and give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down right from the receiver's face.
  • iPod® or iPhone® controls: Connect your device to the receiver's front-panel USB input, and you'll blaze through your tracks and playlists. Dedicated "Search" and "Return" keys cut down on the need to work through menus when you're looking for a specific song.
  • Android® controls: If you store your music on an Android device, download Kenwood's free Music Control app and enjoy a variety of search and playback features when your phone is plugged into the front-panel USB.
  • SirusXM-ready: For satellite radio subscribers (or those who plan to be), the KDC-BT755HD works with SiriusXM's outboard tuner (not included), so you can enjoy coast-to-coast reception of your favorite talk, sports, and music programming.
  • Variable button illumination: Choose from a wide selection of colors to match this receiver's buttons to the color of your vehicle's dash illumination.

Enjoy your music and shape your sound

If you're feeling "old-school," slip in a CD and take full advantage of this receiver's 24-bit digital-to-analog converter. It converts the raw data on your disc, including MP3, WMA, and AAC files, to smooth, lifelike sound. (It'll make a big difference in the music on your iPod or thumb drive, too.)

Wimpy bass and treble controls can't compare with this receiver's 3-band parametric equalizer, high- and low-pass filters, and selectable bass boost, along with settings that let you adjust for your car's speaker setup. And this receiver offers three sets of preamp outputs, so you can easily add amps to build a killer audio system in your car.

Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?

In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (not included) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this Kenwood stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and this Kenwood, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

Note: If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver.

    Good, Not Great

Randy from Ozark, MO on 8/2/2016

    2005 Honda Accord EX
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very poor AM reception and cannot display clock and station call sign simultaneously. Does not have the ability to manually tune to stations - only seek or scan. I don't use Aha or iHeart Radio, so don't know how well they work. I like the hands free phone feature and listen to podcasts recorded on a thumb drive, but have had occasional problems with that as well.

Pros: Hands free phone works pretty well and FM stations pull in okay, depending on weather conditions.

Cons: Doesn't pull in AM stations very well. Max range about 6 miles with the right weather conditions. Sometimes range is less than 2 miles. Cannot display clock and station call sign at same time. Cannot manually tune radio.

Fantastic upgrade with all the compatibility and sound options I need. One year of ownership off the scratch and dent sale, missing remote, sweet deal, no problems. Did the firmware update to be safe. All is good. I wanted to try HD radio and Satellite too...both work great! Bluetooth pairing and calls are easy and clear. Also wanted to be able to charge and use navigation on iPhone. Check!

Pros: - HD and Satellite plus a bunch of Pandora and stuff I never use! -Fantastic iPhone integration for old car - hands free and charging through USB.

Cons: - So many "sources" every time I plug in phone it goes directly to iPhone, so I have to scroll through 7-8 sources to get back to my radio station. Seems trivial, but I would like to set the source default and change it manually, or have separate source buttons (double use for the presets?)

    Broken bluetooth!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am beside myself. I spent all day installing this in my fiance's CR-V which was a christmas present to her. We are going on a road trip tomorrow and couldn't wait to use this. The bluetooth does not work for anything in this device. Neither my Note 3 Android phone nor her Iphone 4S could read a bluetooth signal to pair the device. I even upgraded all the firmware for the device and still nothing. I'm going to need a replacement unit now. Hopefully Crutchfield can give me the same thing so I don't have to do everything completely over.

    Cons: It is broken.

    Excellent head unit...

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this unit to replace my Sony GT-700HD which died after 2 years. Getting familiar with the controls took a couple of days, but outside of that the unit has delivered top notch performance in every way. The sound quality is really good and is really customizable for the different types of music which I listen to. Being a commuter a good stereo is an absolute must for me and the KDC-BT755HD has delivered.

Pros: Excellent sound quality and a plethora of options. Easy to use remote. Multi-color display option is very nice.

Cons: Display is hard to read in broad daylight, but that's been an issue for every head unit I've owned.

Pros: Everything needed is included. The instructions are clear and well illustrated. The sound quality of the receiver is tops. The entire installation and set-up can be completed in 2 hours.

Cons: Be careful in placing the order. Be sure to include the installation kit with the receiver order to avoid the UPS shuffle.

This is an awesome unit. I've always been a Kenwood fan. I have the product four stars because of the screen text. You can't get the clock and song title or radio station all on the same screen. It's one or the other. Nothing really that picky it just bothers me. Bummer this CD player was discontinued two days after I bought it but I'm more than satisfied with it. Great service with crutchfield as always

Pros: Easy to use Bluetooth works with android

Cons: Doesn't show clock on screen unless you select it too.

Great receiver with a lot of features. I was mostly interested in the Bluetooth calling and music but the USB and aux input on the front is cool and the HD radio channels are a plus. The install wasnt that hard other than very little info about my 2012 impreza on the net.

Pros: Bluetooth aux USB Pandora app color choice

Cons: Changing stations button either seek or manual not both HD radio goes in and out of digital constantly in my neighborhood which is north Seattle urban...probably need better antenna than stock

Blu Tooth works well as do the other features. Made a great improvement in the sound of my factory speakers

Pros: Blu tooth HD radio good sound with factory speakers

Cons: This unit doesn't fit in 2005 Dodge Dakota trim kit fron Scoshe unless you use the metal din provided by Kenwood. I definately recommend the wire connectors sold by Crutchfield

    Kenwood KDC-BT755HD is great !!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great quality unit. In my opinion the sound is excellent. I upgraded the factory speakers and replaced the head unit and am very pleased with the results. The install was fairly easy and instructions were perfect. The install looks professional and I would definitely buy from Crutchfield again. This receiver had a ton of features and I really like the HD radio. The other nice thing about this receiver is the Bluetooth for older vehicles. My wife said my Bluetooth phone call was clearer from the Kenwood than from my new 2013 Ford vehicle with Sync.

Pros: I like the option of having a CD player even though it is becoming obsolete technology. I still have several hundred CD's and you never know when you might want to use one. The power is very impressive and sound is excellent from the Bluetooth (Music and Phone). The HD radio is awesome and allows access to stations I could not access before. I am very happy with my purchase. A great product, with lots of features, and at a reasonable price.

Cons: The only nit picky thing that I noticed is that you cannot adjust the color of the text. It surprised me that this was not available with everything else this receiver offers. It has cool selectable colors for the surrounding buttons but not for the text on the screen. That said the text is crisp in all lighting conditions and is still very sensible looking.

    Excellent upgrade!

This was an upgrade from a Kdc-mp242 which I used to love. I bought it because of the bluetooth and HD radio and it works flawlessly. Easy to use and the color options of the faceplate are an added bonus. Excellent hd and FM reception. I still have to try AM radio but the sound quality improved in other areas so I know I will not be dissapointed. Excellent product fron Kenwood.

Pros: Hd reception Bluetooth microphone reception Color changing faceplate to match gauges

    Cons: None

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a solid deck that will play music right off of your iPhone or iPod through the USB cable. Navigating is fairly intuitive, but a run through the manual is advisable. Side note: Crutchfield sends excellent instructions with the unit, and perfectly fitting electrical and trim adaptors. I had a bit of unique situation, and the tech support at Crutchfield answered the question immediately with the correct answer. They were excellent--not something you find in tech support so much.

Pros: Quality looks, sounds and feels good. Crutchfield has excellent tech support if you're installing yourself. iPod/iPhone compatible.

Cons: None--all seems to be good.

Bought Kenwood KDC-BT755HD, matching front KFC-1064S speakers and rear KFC-1664S speakers for my sons 1999 Chevy Malibu for Christmas. Really impressed with ease of installation and sound quality was a lot better than stock system. Son was really impressed with unit and I got a great buy on unit. Spent just about the same as what another retailer wanted for a Pioneer of lesser quality unit that was on sale there.

Pros: I Phone compatible, good sound and easy installation

Cons: Hard to see screen in sun light

    I did it myself.

Keep your order number, you will need it if you call for help. I haven't set up the blue tooth yet. I am not a technical person.

Pros: Clear instructions. The phone was answered quickly.

Cons: An old guy like me took all afternoon to install it. Not 30 minutes like the pros' Operating instructions were difficult for me, but an 8 year old grandchild could probably figure it out.

    Myriad of features and capabilities

    Ckreuton from Arizona on 12/26/2013

This radio is pretty darn excellent, I have to say. The HD radio is one of the great features it has. It must have way better internal circuitry than I thought possible because it picks up stations crystal clear that I previously never even got fuzz from before installing this(meaning stations that aren't HD specific, just normal stations). The HD stations that it picks us are also pretty awesome sounding, with great clear sound and clarity. Another awesome feature is the USB flash drive playability. I got one of those mini can't-see-it flash drives for the radio and created some playlist folders containing mp3's, AAC's, WAV's and other types of files. First of all, navigation between folders is a breeze, but also, it plays all the kinds of files really well without any stuttering or delay or anything annoying like those. I have yet to try the Kenwood control app for Android, and haven't tried the Pandora/iHeartRadio/Aha interactivity, but I've heard from my friend who has another bluetooth kenwood unit(the same model that doesn't have bluetooth, basically) has said great things about the interactivity, so I'll take his word for it. The weird thing I have yet to figure out about the bluteooth functionality is that I can't get bluetooth music streaming to play out of my subwoofer.. the sub line-level out is what send signal to my sub amp, yet only in bluetooth streaming mode does it not play through the sub, so I'll have to research it. I'm outta text space! hopethishelped!

Pros: High sound quality, great features, Crutchfield provided every single thing needed to install, cool colors, good EQ adjustability, 3 channel RCA outs(front, rear, sub), comes with decent bluetooth microphone, nice text display

Cons: bluetooth streaming won't play out of subwoofer(yet)

    2003 MINI Cooper
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Solid unit and an upgrade of features for my 02 Mini Cooper. Thanks to Crutchfields wiring harness and tech support (called about the switched power connection option which I did not need) the install was pretty smooth. I installed this unit with the Axxess ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Interface. All works together flawlessly. As previously stated in another review, adjust the bluetooth audio settings set the audio to all speakers otherwise you may wonder why there is no punch or volume to your tunes! For Mini Cooper owners, take the time to remove the dash cover (2 side panels and 4 screws) so that the remote microphone cable can be routed across the dash and tucked into the door seal. If you are going to mount a GPS mount use this opportunity to screw the mount into the dash.

Pros: Easy addition to add BT audio, handsfree and HD Radio

Cons: Just replaced with a newer model. BT audio adjustment should have not been necessary and was initially confusing.

    1999 Nissan Maxima
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This HU is a bit better than expected. The sound quality is better - radio is far superior to the stock 1999 Nissan Maxima (non-Bose) HU. Of course Pandora, BT audio, aux connection are all way better than anything coming from the stock system. Finally hear some definition from JL audio C2-650x in the rear deck. The system was an easy install. There are some minor issues with the case. I had to use the stock screws which are slightly larger as the supplied screws did not thread securely into the HU case. BT paired without issue and I set up three different phones - each work without issue. I ended up mounting the mic on driver side pillar and was able to route the cord underneath the pillar and dashboard. By default the BT audio is only to the front speakers. You need to enter the settings to change it to all 4.

Pros: Sounds better than the stock HU even at higher volumes Lots of features - Make sure you DL the manual from Kenwood's site Good Value BT works very well HD Radio offers several more stations and excellent signal quality Make me look forward to driving

Cons: Detachable faceplate feels a bit fragile Case is a bit cheap - the mounting screws provided did not fit Depending on sequence (ie. connect phone while in ACC mode, then start the car) you can loose the Pandora connection (disconnect or becomes BT Audio) - This is more of a training issue but it certainly could be handled better.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This receiver was a great upgrade to the indeck unit. Vast improvement in sound and function, without yet installing the new speakers. The Bluetooth hands free calling works simply with excellent quality (I watched a YouTube video on installing the microphone, worth the effort). There is a news program I like to download, and I install that on a USB device, and that too works simply and excellently. Settings are pretty easy to adjust, but not while driving. The station preset buttons are somewhat small and close, making it a little difficult to find the right one, especially while driving, but use improves one's ability to do this unobtrusively , as well.

Pros: Great sound quality Price Many useful features and functions (Bluetooth, HD, USB, Aux, Pandora, iHeart), Sirus/XM compatible. Crutchfield provides everything you need to get the job done, along with toll free support if you need it,

Cons: Station presets are a little close together.

    1999 Dodge Ram
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The head unit is an easy to use replacement for the radio in your car. It is easy to set up the adjustments with an easy to follow menu structure. Once set, you will not need to adjust most of the choices again. I was so impressed with it when it came that I quickly bought a second one for my other vehicle!

Pros: Easy to use controls, logical layout, high quality audio output with reasonable volume. The call quality is good and the external mic helps me to be heard. My last radio made me shout at the radio because the mic was inside the unit, behind the face plate. Now the mic is in the open and works well!

Cons: The unit is a little TOO quick to start the app on the phone that is associated with the selection on the radio. If you pause too long (like to read the display), say on Pandora, it starts Pandora on the phone causing you to need to go to the phone to turn off Pandora so you can then start the app you really want. I am sure this will get better as I become more used to the phone and do not need to read every screen.

I will only buy Kenwood car receivers and there's a good reason for that. They are just great receivers. I primarily bought it for the HD Radio but having the Bluetooth and hands free calling are a serious plus. For some reason when using it through Bluetooth, the default speaker settings is for front only so not only did my rear speakers not function, my subwoofer did not either. Once I did some searching and found the setting in the Bluetooth settings and not the audio settings all is well. All in all it's a great unit at a great price. I do wish the color of the text changed with the color changing buttons, but that is just a very minor annoyance.

FM and FM HD is very impressive. However, as a broadcaster, I have to say I was very disappointed with the quality of the AM Bands audio. The frequency response sound like it rolls off at about 3k. Sad since most AM's today are flat to 10k. The Satellite addition is very difficult to operate.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This product is amazing. Kenwood makes the best receivers. The quality is amazing. Obviously like most radios I can remove it to keep it safe. But what makes this radio special ( wouldn't be possible without crutchfield) is that I got the harness and mounting kit for free. This kit really is amazing and works very well. For $175 I have : more power to each speaker Amplifier capabilities. 6 channel preamp output HD radio Bluetooth Color variation 3 FM one AM The Radio sounds like a CD. The CD sounds incredibly clear. Blue tooth works amazingly Mounted on steering wheel Easy installation Easy wire connection. Gotta love it

Pros: I paid only 175 I got 6 channel preamp out puts HD radio 22wats RMS is the power it gives to each channel. Blue tooth was easy to install-stuck it to steering wheel. Easy to hide the wire. Very easy to install to my 1996 Honda Accord. Various colors. Matched my interior color 100 percent. Sounds great with my set of Alpines. I will eventually hook up an amplifier with alpine subs.

Cons: There are no cons in this product.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The one thing only rich people could do from their luxury cars about a couple of decades ago now I can do from my old "clunker" 2000 Subaru Sport Wagon! It's beyond cool and to be able to listen to Pandora and other internet Streaming radio stations, this stereo has brought back to life my car speakers and I think it even makes them sound a lot better and with more "Umph" to them. Had it not been for my JVC head going out on me after 7 faithful years of service I wouldn't have made this purchase unless it was for a new car but since I realized how cool internet streaming radio music sounds that's what drove me to get this system for my car and I definitely have no regrets in doing so and to be able to carry a conversation over the phone, legally, as if I had passengers with me it's a great capability to have!

Pros: All capabilities advertised for it do perform well, HD radio is a plus, great sound!!!

    Cons: None to date.

    Better then I expect

Steve R from Deptford NJ on 11/8/2013

After reading countless reviews from all over the web I decided to give this Kenwood a shot. It had 4 things I wanted: HD Radio, Blue tooth streaming, hands free calling and available through Crutchfield! The above 3 things work flawlessly. The 4th thing was smooth as silk. The reviews that were less than stellar had one thing in common. They were all things that could have been avoided! For instance, people who say they read the negative review and bought it anyways! How can you complain when you clearly knew the problem existed? I couldn't find any problems or complaints about any firmware updates that were recent. And again if you had any concerns about it then why would you order it? As forncustomer service problems, are you sure you bought this from Crutchfield? I purchased a head unit from another retailer and spent more and then had to buy an inferior install kit for $70 more and it never looked or worked right! Try getting a replacement or support from them! You have a better chance of getting blood from a stone. Crutchfield supplied everything needed + detailed instructions for free. The only thing they didn't do was come and install it for me. However with all the knowledge they supply, 3 year old can do it. This radio will blow your mind with all it does. And "IT" does it all. It has an extremely ez to use interface that is flawless. Buy one and thank me later.

Pros: Top quality sound & ease of use. If you don't want Pandora, aha, ihartradio,HD radio etc.then buy something else. The unit is flawless. If you are listening to Pandora prior to exiting your car,it will auto restart when you reenter, even if you totally exit the app! You want to listen to something else? Just push a button! Ez as that. Contacts transfer to the unit from your phone with the push of a button. Display is easily visable in bright sunlight. GALAXY S3/4&IPHONE 100% compatible

Cons: Instructions on fine tuning are not in the box. They have to be read online. 99% of the functions are easily adjusted with common sense. The majority of options are controlled with the volume knob. My wife said she couldn't hear me & there was an echo while using the hands free. However after actually reading the instruction manual I found that the same volume knob adjusts the microphone levels. It now functions so well you can talk quietly with the window down at 45mph!

This Kenwood KDC-BT755HD (with the new speakers also from Crutchfield) sounds great in my old 92 Ford truck. Blu-tooth feature is very handy., and folks tell me it sounds really good on the other end.

Pros: Pretty easy to use. Very good sound quality at a good price. Ipod sounds great with it. Radio is great. Given the extra features and the low price difference, would probably go with the KDC-X797, if doing it today.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this stereo from there website based on a recommendation from a friend, "Crutchfields is the best place to buy a stereo". The sale was smooth and delivery was good. The installation accessories and wiring diagram made it easy to install. After that is when I became disappointed with the Stereo. The stereo plays well but when you turn the car on the stereo will not turn on. Have to power cycle the stereo to get it to come on. I called customer service for support. The support Tech was crass and not helpful, seemed to be bothered by my call. He suggested I check the wiring connections as that is where I would find my problem. So I checked them and all was well. The stereo still will not boot on its own yet. I called customer support again, the next Tech said there is a bug in the OS of the stereo and to go to Kenwood web site and download a patch to load in the stereo, that is supposed to fix the problem. I have not done that yet, we will see if it solves the problem. Why do you sell stereos that you know have a problem? Then require the customer to make the system right. Very disappointed with the stereo and more disappointed with Crutchfield's. I will not be buying and more equipment form them, it seems to me there attitude is you bought it it's yours.

Pros: Accessory kit install and wiring diagrams made a easy install.

Cons: Cruthcfield's does not stand behind there product as there advertisements suggest. Customer support is disappointing. ] Look at the terms you have to agree to to give a review. They can and probably will remove any reviews that they disagree with or are negative even if they are accurate.

Quick shipment after order, easy install, and great free extras from Crutchfield (harness adapters, face plate, etc.). Wiring it up and installing was a breeze .... The speakers on my 1999 Dodge Ram w/Infinity upgrade was another story. But here again, a quick call to Crutchfield resulted in a wiring matrix for my Ram which ultimately helped me get everything working. This system sounds great ... Very good value, great sounding system, love being able to use my iPod, iPhone via Bluetooth, hands-free calling, etc. Don't think about it, just buy it, you'll be glad you did.

    good unit

Steve from Huntsville, AL on 10/9/2013

Lots of nice features, some of which I have not used (internet related radio features, since I am too cheap to buy a cell phone with a data plan). It was easy to pair the radio with my BlackBerry 9930 cell phone for audio streaming and hands free phone and my phonebook transferred to the radio without any trouble. Works fine with iPod. The user interface is generally pretty good and easy to figure out. One minor limitation is that when you are navigating through the user interface menus to access the various features, you cannot adjust the volume until you exit out of the menu system (because the volume knob is used to scroll through options). The equalization options are pretty good. I would probably be a little happier with some parametric EQ settings though, so I could choose some frequencies to boost or cut. That's probably too much to ask for at this price though. This KDC-BT755HD head unit is working well with the Kicker 11HS8 compact powered subwoofer that I just added to my system. Without the subwoofer (using only a set of 4 Kenwood KFC1664S 6.5 inch speakers), the system was weak when it came to bass response. But I am sure that is a shortcoming primarily of the speakers, not the head unit. Installation in my 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500HD was very straight forward with the mounting hardware and provided instructions. Caveat: I gave it 5 stars on "coolness factor" but I am too old (52) for me to care very much about that or for my opinion to be relevant.

Pros: many features generally easy to use can adjust backlight color to match instrument panel not as gaudy as some aftermarket units

Cons: cannot adjust volume when accessing menus

If you are looking for that kind of power in a car stereo better get ready to spend some $$$. You will spend more for the extra juice than u did on the Stereo.

It does have some features that I don't want or need, but everything sounds great. I did not like the gimmicky looks and features of some of the other brands. I am happy with my purchase.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Much of what I need to do with this unit is buried deep in many levels. Distilling critical functions thru a single button interface is a pain. Buttons are too small, markings on buttons therefore are hard to read when you have bifocals. Whats up with only having a seek function, I prefer a scan function instead of having to keep pressing the seek button to locate a station I want to listen to. While the iPod/Phone and USB connectivity are nice features I don't use them. The LED display is not easy to read normally and even worse when its sunny out, OK @ night. All of the music services available thru this unit are plastered all over the faceplate, give me more real estate devoted to function buttons instead of advertising. When the unit does lock onto an HD broadcast it does sound sweet thru the new Kenwood KFC-1664S 6.5" 3-way car speakers (front and back) purchased with this unit. CDs sound great. Purchased a new antenna (some clown bent the other one) and found that the antenna base that mounts on the A pillar has a defect so it's not perfectly flush, hope it doesn't leak there. Had a problem removing old antenna so called tech support multiple times. With new everything in my '95 Civic I still find the reception in my "05 Tacoma with its stock CD/radio is far superior.

Pros: HD radio sound quality when it locks in, Three FM band x 6 storage. Connectivity & Bluetooth.

Cons: SMALL buttons, small type, excessive advertising on faceplate, NO Scan function. No case for faceplate. Conflicting tech support advise and misleading illustration on antenna installation made this harder that it should have been, but they were friendly.

Great feature set for the $. I used to do a lot of car stereos in my younger days, this is the first one in about 20 years. It has good power, not enough to rattle your trunk lid, but enough to make the music come a live. Menus are easy to navigate, the look is good, and the blue tooth quality is good as well. Love this unit! Champagne features on a beer budget. I've always had good luck with Kenwood receivers.

Pros: Once you get used to the controls, it's easy to navigate. Tons of features for the $. 3 RCA outputs for front, rear, and sub.

Cons: The Bluetooth is sometimes a little finicky, but easy enough to work around.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is the first car stereo I've ever bought and after a lot of research I decided on buying this one because it has everything I was looking for and more. The main reason that I chose to go with a Kenwood model is because it has a higher quality DAC ( digital to analog converter) that increases the quality of the audio and I feel that it does make a difference. I had originally bought this to use the USB or audio inputs on the face however I found that the Bluetooth streaming is just as effective and there is no need to have cables hanging around. Lastly I should mention that I installed this myself without previous experience. Crutchfield included the harness and some instructions, which made installation very easy and I would recommend buying from them if you plan on installing yourself. Overall I'm very happy with this product and with Crutchfield!

Pros: I love the Bluetooth streaming and I figured out how to use all of the features in about 30 minutes.

Cons: Not sure if there is one but I couldn't find a mute button.

A good radio, but not great. Menus are difficult to understand and navigate. Buttons are very small and it could use less advertising plastered all over the front. Text screen is 'old school', it does look like something from the 70's. AM reception is EXTREMELY POOR. I live just outside a major city, and this thing won't pull in one AM station. My factory radio recieved AM great, so I know the antenna is good. Sound quality is good on FM and IPOD. I really had high hopes for this radio, but it really was a let down. I wouldn't buy it again.

Very nice head unit BT feature hooking up 50/50 most of the time, removable face plate does not come with a bag or case

Pros: Great for the price lots of features easy to install and wire

Cons: Bluetooth does hook up all the time, no storage for face plate when removed

Good performance, could be better controls

Performs well, good sound quality.. Controls are a pain. To many buttons to push to adjust sound levels. Anytime you want to adjust subwoofer you have a series of buttons to push to get there and the same in reverse once adjustment is done.. Could be it's own button or once done and left it goes back to original screen..

Pros: Everything works like it should.

    Cons: Control over complicated

So far so good. Felt like I was getting allot or radio for my buck. This is my second Kenwood my first was a KDC-BT848U and it is still in my primary vehicle. I decided to put the 755-hd in my secondary vehicle and I really like it so far. The HD radio sounds really, really, good. I compared the non HD Kenwood to the newer one and there is a difference. The car I put this in has black gages with white lighting and you can get kind of a blueish-white color of of it so its close. One of the other improvements in this stereo is the load time for stuff on the screen. If you have a similar kenwood then you know that the load time for different sources and even presets can be annoying. The load time is almost gone with regards to presets and has been improved with regards to changing sources. The best improvement has been the actual preset buttons. No more hitting the "preset button" the waiting for a load time then scrolling through your presets then selecting it. Just hit a button and your there. The knob on this stereo is only used for volume and scrolling through menus buttons (hooray!). Not sure what aha radio is but I'll look into it. I have an IPhone 4S and like most major brands that claim to work with Apple it works and it works well. My primary music source is Pandora and I do like the thumbs up or thumbs down feature on the actually head unit. If you want to like a song just hit your #1 preset. You can also bookmark from the head (out of characters)

Pros: STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS WORK WITH THIS UNIT!!!! HD radio sounds better. You have 2 Bass Boost levels and 2 levels of loudness this really helps you get the most out of factory speakers. Preset buttons. Works with Iphone and Android. You can adjust the color to match your factory gages (why other car audio brands don't do this is just dumb).

Cons: -Dear Kenwood and most other car stereo makers, why do you need to litter the faceplate of your products with logos and labels of the different functions of the stereo? (i.e. PANDORA, aha, Iheart, HD Radio etc). It looks cheesy and clutters the radio. It looks like advertising for those companies. Just put an easily removable sticker on it for when it is displayed in stores. This would give the radio a much cleaner look. -Needs to come with a more detailed instruction manual

    Excellent radio, high quality

This is a great product with loads of functions and excellent sound quality. I specifically chose this model because it also had buttons to quickly switch channels without having to focus on the screen.

Pros: Loads of features, including SiriusXM, bluetooth, Front port USB, aux port, IHeart Radio, Pandora & HD Radio. Also liked the ability to keep my steering wheel controls!

Cons: Had a little difficulty with losing power initially, but quickly found the fuse was not making connection when seated.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Amazing product ! Is everything I expected it to be and more ! Sound is crystal clear from all sources , with plenty of adjustment. Options are endless and color coding the keys to match your display is great. Interface I admit is a bit confusing at first but in 20minutes I found every option there is without even opening the manual, if you're somewhat technically inclines should be no problem. Blue tooth with android works great! And HD radio works great you can definitely tell the difference , but those of you who expect a massive difference you won't hear it , and remember it us radio frequency pickup and depending on your location and station coverage you may loose digital reception and the system automatically reverts back to analog but this can be controlled (auto ,analog or digital ) Great product kenwood! If you decide to buy this your wont regret it, it delivers ! Installed in a 2013 wrx hatchback . The stock radio in these cars us horrid and this made an astronomical difference . It's running 4x 6.5 inch infinity reference 2way coaxial and I couldn't believe how loud and clear these speakers can be compared to stock unit , Also the single DIN conversion kit worked well which came free if charge courtesy if crutchfield ! Thanks !

Pros: Sound , options , color display option etc.

Cons: Looks a bit tired (old) faceplate and uses single line text from last millennium but still legible

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good unit for the price. All the options one would need for today's audio & communication needs. Good powerful sound and quality which is the main reason to buy a head unit. Setup is not intuitive, manual has about 5% of what you'll need for setup, so you'll need to go to the online manual to get 50% of what you need. The rest you'll need to do on your own. EQ setup switches between sources which is nice but annoying at first.

Pros: Lots of colors to match your car's dash. Powerful quality sound once you are dialed in.

Cons: In 2013 you'd think they would create a display that doesn't look like a 1979 speak-n-spell. Cheaper units have a better display. The unit seems to be built for dealers as I've never had to deal with "display" mode so much-should be vice versa. USB and iphone work well but it automatically switches to iPhone mode when you plug it in. This is annoying when all you want to do is charge your phone. Dim mode isn't automatic. "Thinks" too long when switching sources or trying to use phone.

User interface is a little too complicated. Never did figure out how to tune to a weak FM station as it wants to scan to the next strong station. Display doesn't dim with dash lights which makes it too bright at night. Otherwise, a very good buy for basic car audio.

Does everything I wanted, and has more features then I will probably use. I wanted this unit for the dedicated bluetooth mic for calls and Quality seems to be good. Bluetooth audio connection works good too to play Google music over the connection. I don't plan on streaming Pandora over it as I don't have an unlimited data plan, so I'm sticking with the line in and my Zune HD. Haven't tired it yet but it claims the usb port will be good for charging devices too this is a plus that I won't have to carry a separate 12v to usb adapter.

    Pros: Lots of connectivity options

Cons: Only comes with a quick start guide in box. While it is useful I would appreciate a full manual as well.

In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP 1.5 (Hands Free Profile), OPP 1.1 (Object Push Profile), PBAB 1.0 (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP 1.2 (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP 1.3 (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Kenwood KDC-BT755HD. Visit Kenwood's Support Site for a complete list of compatible Bluetooth enabled phones.

SPP (Secure Simple Pairing): With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the Kenwood KDC-BT755HD without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings. When a registered Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units. You can register up to five Bluetooth-enabled devices with the Kenwood head unit. A maximum of two Bluetooth-enabled phones can be connected at one time, but only one can be used at a time.

Bluetooth Hands-Free Communication: The head unit supports Bluetooth hands-free communication for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The controls of the KDC-BT755HD can be used to dial a number, answer an in-coming call, or end a call. The unit also includes an external microphone (featuring adjustable gain), so you can carry on your side of the conversation while listening to the caller through your vehicles speakers. During a conversation, you can switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode.

    • Answering a Call: When a call comes in, a ring-tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker and the caller's name or phone number will be displayed. You can answer the call from the head unit's front-panel controls, or setup the head unit to automatically answer the incoming call immediately or after 1-99 seconds. The KDC-BT755HD also supports the Call Waiting function, so you can answer another incoming call while suspending the current call you are on. Your compatible cell-phone must also support this feature.
    • Dialing a Number: Using the KDC-BT755HD, you can dial a phone number in one of the following ways:
      • Entering a Phone Number: Allows you to directly dial a phone number up to 32 digits from the head unit's control knob or remote control.

The external wired microphone offers improved audio quality versus an integrated microphone, so you can be heard easier over noisy traffic and road noise. You can adjust the volume level and noise cancellation of the microphone without affecting the other sources. The external microphone features an attached 10' cable terminated by a right-angle 3.5mm connector which plugs into the mic input on the rear-panel of the head unit. The microphone offers an integrated mounting bracket which can be clipped to your vehicle's sun-visor or taped to your dash. The external microphone measures 0.525" (diameter) x 1.505" (depth).

The KDC-BT755HD will be able to control basic playback functions of your Bluetooth device's stored music; such as Play/Pause, Skip Next/Previous, Fast Forward/Rewind and Random/Repeat. The head unit will also display your stored music's song information; such as Artist name and Song/Album title. Advanced music control of your music apps will still need be done via your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

Siri Digital Assistant Control: When paired and connected with an iPhone 4S or 5/5C/5S via Bluetooth (not USB), the Kenwood KDC-BT55U has the ability to access Siri through its front-panel controls and external microphone. Simply press-and-hold down on the head unit's Answer Button to engage Siri and use the included microphone to communicate with Siri. Siri's voice will heard through your vehicle's speakers. iPod/Android/AUX Integration

iPod Direct Connection w/ DAC Bypass: The KDC-BT755HD's front-panel USB port acts as an iPod/iPhone high-speed direct connection when used with the optional Kenwood USB Direct Connection Cable (113KCIP102, sold separately) or the USB/iPod cable that comes with your iPod/iPhone. If you have an iPod nano (7th gen), iPod touch (5th gen), or iPhone 5/5C/5S; use the Lightning-to-USB cable that came with your Apple device to connect to the head unit. Using either cable allows audio playback, music navigation, information display, and charging of select iPod/iPhone models from the KDC-BT755HD.

    • DAC Bypass: This USB connection allows your iPod/iPhone's large music libraries to be loaded instantly to the head unit and sound quality to be maximized through the head unit's 24-bit D/A converter, allowing for a Signal to Noise ratio up to 105dB. The Kenwood head unit supports audio playback of music files and podcasts stored on your iPod or iPhone, as well as music apps streamed to your iPhone.
    • Music Control: You can choose to control the iPod/iPhone from the head unit or from your iPod/iPhone's clickwheel or touchscreen.
      • Head Unit: The Kenwood head unit allows you to navigate your iPod's music by Playlist, Artists, Album, Genre, Composer, Song, or Podcast. You can search these categories alphabetically or using a percentage search (0.5%, 1%, 5%, 10%). The head unit also supports Repeat (file) & Random (folder) playback functions of your connected iPod/iPhone.
      • iPod/App Mode: In iPod/App mode, you can navigate the stored music on your iPod/iPhone from its clickwheel or touchscreen. You can also listen to your favorite music apps (such as SiriusXM,, Rhapsody, & Slacker) from your iPhone (iOS 3.0+) through the Kenwood head unit and your vehicle's speakers. You will continue to use your iPhone's touchscreen to navigate your apps. Not all apps will be compatible with App Mode. Access to your iPhone's downloaded applications will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone to connect to the Internet.
    • Information Display: The KDC-BT755HD will display your iPod/iPhone's music file information when you are controlling your iPod or iPhone from the Kenwood head unit. The head unit will display Track number, Elapsed playing time, Artist name, Song title, and Album label. If you choose to operate your connected iPod/iPhone via its clickwheel or touchscreen controls, the KDC-BT755HD will not display your iPod/iPhone's music information (the head unit will instead display "APP/iPod").
    • Battery Charging: The head unit's USB connection provides 1A of current to power and charge your connected iPod/iPhone when your vehicle's ignition switch is set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position. This unit does not charge the iPad. If your iPod/iPhone has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it.

    Audio Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The Kenwood KDC-BT755HD utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The Kenwood KDC-BT755HD is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. The power output specs for the KDC-BT755HD are as follows:

    • Full Bandwidth Power: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20-20kHz, 1% THD)
    • Maximum Output Power: 50 watts x 4 channels

6ch/2.5V Preamp Outputs: The KDC-BT755HD features front, rear and subwoofer 2.5-volt preamp outputs. The front and rear speaker preamp outputs are balance and fade adjustable. The subwoofer preamp output is non-fading. The front, rear, and subwoofer preamp outputs are fixed to the rear chassis of the head unit.

Front & Rear High-Pass Filter: The KDC-BT755HD features a High-Pass Crossover for the front & rear channels when your front & rear speakers are connected by the unit's speaker-outputs or preamp-outputs. You can adjust the high-pass crossover from "Through", 100, 120, or 150 Hz. The "Through" selection is a full-range setting.

Subwoofer Controls: The Kenwood KDC-BT755HD offers the following subwoofer controls, when you are using unit's subwoofer preamp output.

    • Low Pass Filter: The receiver features a built-in Low Pass Filter control for the preamp-output, when the output is set to Subwoofer. You can select from 85 Hz, 120 Hz, 160 Hz, or off.
    • Subwoofer Phase: You can adjust the phase of the subwoofer output between 180-degrees (Reverse) or 0-degrees (Normal).
    • Subwoofer Level: Once the Subwoofer preamp output is activated, you can independently control the subwoofer preamp output level (-15 to +15) from the CD receiver.

Speaker Settings: The Speaker Setting function tailors the head unit's audio settings according to the type of speakers in your vehicle. You may select a Speaker Setting of 'SP-Off' (flat/off), 'SP-OEM' (for OEM factory speaker systems), 'SP-6x9/6' (for systems with 6" and 6"x9" speakers), or 'SP-5/4' (for systems with 4" and 5" speakers).

Preset EQ: Eight EQ curves are preset into memory, allowing you to recall the best preset EQ curve for different types of music. Each preset has its own level settings for bass (100Hz), midrange (1kHz), and treble (12.5kHz). You can choose from the following preset EQ curves - Rock, Pops, Easy, Top 40, Jazz, Natural, Game, and User.

Note: You can store bass, middle and treble tone settings for each source (CD, AM/FM, Aux, USB, iPod, Bluetooth, and Pandora).

Sound Enhancements: The head unit provides further sound enhancements for your car audio system.

    • Bass Boost: The Kenwood CD receiver features a Bass Boost control that can be set to the following levels (BB1, BB2, BB3, or Off).
    • Loudness: This function enhances low and high frequencies to make the sound clearer lower volumes. There are 3 levels (LV1, LV2, or Off).
    • Supreme Setting: When MP3 or WMA files encoded at a low bit rate (less than 96 kbps, 44.1k, 48kHz) are played, the Supreme Setting function restores their high frequencies so the sound quality is closer to files encoded at a high bit rate. The processing is optimized for the compression format and the bit rate used. When the Supreme Setting is Off, the unit plays the original sound stored in the audio file.

Volume Offset: The level of each source may be independently adjusted to prevent radical leaps in output volume when switching from one source to another. The available settings range from -8 to 0 (-8 to +8 for Aux source).

Key Beep: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

    Display Features

Detachable Face: The Kenwood KDC-BT755HD features a single front loading CD face that detaches from the chassis to deter theft. There is no protective face case included. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can be purchased for this unit. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired.

Fluorescent Display: The Kenwood head unit features a single-line, 11-character, bluish-white backlit fluorescent display.

Variable Color Button Illumination: The Kenwood KDC-BT755HD features variable color button illumination. You can choose from one of 24 preset colors, have the unit scan through all 24 preset colors continuously, or customize your own color (RGB; 0-9). The custom setting allows you to individually adjust the intensity of Red, Green, and Blue (from 0-9) to better match your vehicle's interior lights. The Kenwood logo and eject button remain red.

Illumination Dimmer: You can manually dim the LCD and button illumination to better suit the time of day. The Kenwood logo and eject button do not dim.

Display Illumination/Clock Display: When the unit is in Standby mode, the face and button illumination is "keyed." When the Clock Display is turned on and the unit is in Standby mode, the Clock Display is also "keyed." Pressing and holding the source button turns the unit off completely.

Demo Mode: This unit features a Demo mode which can be turned On or Off within the menu.

    Remote Control

Wireless Remote Control: The KDC-BT755HD comes with an IR remote control (RC-406) for wireless operation of the head unit. The remote will control Audio, CD, USB, and Tuner functions. It is powered by a single CR2025 3V lithium-cell battery (supplied).

    • Numeric Keypad: The wireless remote control features a numeric keypad (0-9) which allows direct track access of your music tracks & files (from CD or USB), as well as AM/FM presets.
    • Attenuator: The CD receiver features an Attenuator button on the supplied remote control that turns the volume down very quickly with one touch of the button.

Hi, don't buy this radio,i had bought 2 and they got return they had lots of issues -in my opinion the PIONEER is da way to go [ WILLIAM  Jan 17, 2014 ]
Paul, I installed this in my wife's Frontier pickup and it works very nicely without problems. Sound quality is excellent. However, I don't know how it would hold up to more bumping and jostling. I put the full-sized version of this in my Toyota Solara and I like the large size better. [ Scott  Jan 15, 2014 ]
I drive a Ford Explorer that doesn't have the best suspension in the world and as far as I can tell the receiver doesn't skip a beat. Now a the rough vibration of a big-rig is another story, but it shouldn't be much worse. [ EPITACIO  Jan 15, 2014 ]
    Yes. It will work great ! [ DAVID C  Jan 15, 2014 ]
It has held up ok in my truck, I have a duramax diesel and the only negative that I have is that using Bluetooth with my engine on no one can hear me, I have to use my earpiece to cancel the diesel [ ALLEN  Jan 15, 2014 ]
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you. [ Jeff  Jan 13, 2014 ]  Staff
Yes you can. But the quality of sound is better with the USB cord. With blue tooth the bass is missing. I tried to adj the sub woofer out put and the bass tone, neither of these added any lower end to the sound quality. I have to rest the deck about once a month, something to do with power surges i think. Other wise its a good deck and everything else works fine. I installed it in a 87 4runner. Good luck [ ALLEN  Jan 06, 2014 ]
Yes ,works very well Bluetooth [ MICHAEL STEPHEN  Jan 06, 2014 ]
Of course you can!!!!!... I works very well. Bluetooth just picks up the signal from the iPHONE. No USB needed. I accidently dropped my iPhone at a road side pull off and as I drove away the song faded away alerting me to go back and find the phone. WHICH I DID!!!!... Good buy. AZ [ ALAN J  Jan 06, 2014 ]
Hi Dave, this unit will connect via Bluetooth to play music and answer phone calls on the IPhone. We have it set so once the truck is started the unit connects to an iPhone and starts playing music. When a phone call comes in it mutes the music an answers the call. It returns to music once the call ends. [ Bubba J  Jan 05, 2014 ]
I have not tried it but from the clarithy of the bluetooth i would say if you did it would not be very good. Also if you don;t live in the city the hd isn;t worth having [ TERRANCE M  Jan 05, 2014 ]
Hi Dave W, I have this deck and really enjoy it. I play Spotify, Pandora, and Audiobooks over the bluetooth connection and do not use a USB cable to do so! Hope this helps! Matt [ MATTHEW  Jan 05, 2014 ]
Nice. Thanks guys. Yea. I just want to be sure before I purchase this. Plus sometimes it gets annoying having a cable in the way of your shifter so playing music via Bluetooth-iPhone is what I like. Thanks for the feedback! [ Dave w  Jan 04, 2014 ]
Yes is very east [ JOSE  Jan 04, 2014 ]
Yes, this deck is bluetooth capable; you don't need to hook your phone up via cable, although you can do. The USB port can charge your phone as well as communicate to it. The only thing I use the USB port for is charging, [ A. Saint  Jan 04, 2014 ]
Yes you can...that's exactly the way I play my music that I have on my Rhapsodu app. Honestly Dave....I flat out love my stereo.....the sound the features the quality and best of all the price....I think you will be very satisfied with it !!!! [ ALEX  Jan 04, 2014 ]
Yes the connection works both wireless via blue tooth or thru a USB connection [ RYAN  Jan 04, 2014 ]
Any stereo that says bluetooth streaming will do it [ KENNETH  Jan 04, 2014 ]
The microphone is separate and gives you a couple options to mount it. [ STEVEN  Dec 07, 2013 ]
It is separate. It plugs in on the back of the unit. [ JOE  Dec 06, 2013 ]
Hi Emily. The Mic is not built into the faceplate. You plug it into the back of the unit. It has chord long enough to route it wherever you want. I routed mine up near the rear view mirror, tucked the cord behind the plastic panels. Looks like factory. The Mic works well too. You can adjust the gain and echo. Hope this helps. [ CAVEN  Dec 06, 2013 ]
It is a separate wired microphone that they recommend putting on the steering column. It has double sticky tape for mounting. [ JEFFREY  Dec 06, 2013 ]
No. The microphone is a separate piece that is mountable. I personally did not like this feature so I ended up mounting it behind the air vent on the dashboard. Like that it is invisible but still accessible for phone calls. [ RAMON  Dec 06, 2013 ]
Hi Emily, The microphone is separate. The lead wiring is long enough to mount anywhere. [ RODNEY  Dec 06, 2013 ]
You would have to mount it on the dash or windshield interior moldings I mounted mine on my windshield molding of my wrangler jk, it work great. [ NESTOR  Dec 06, 2013 ]
The microphone is not built into the receiver, and it comes with a separate microphone. The microphone is easily installable, and comes with an adhesive already on the bottom. The microphone is also able to be directed to different places to be aimed directly at the speaker. Overall it works very well. You can also use this microphone for Siri or Google voice when your phone is paired via Bluetooth. [ BRIAN D  Dec 06, 2013 ]
Hi Emily. This unit comes with a separate mic to be mounted on the dash or above near the visor. I'm not aware of one in the face of the unit. -Brian [ BRIAN  Dec 06, 2013 ]
Well, I managed to do the install myself, but it did take some time (1-2 hours). The hardest part for me was soldering all of the wires to ensure a good connection. If you don't have access to a solder iron, I think there is a method of twisting the wires together and capping them (but my dad's an electronics guru and told me to solder them as it makes a better connection). After all of the soldering, the actual install was pretty straightforward. The directions that are included give a good description of what you need to do. Plus if you are replacing another head unit, you can see how that one was installed and repeat it for the new unit. (my old unit was stolen from my car so I had nothing to work off of) Hope that helps! [ JENNA M  Dec 04, 2013 ]
I installed Kenwood KDC-BT755HD in a 1989 Suzuki Sidekick. I had no trouble at all. I did order the correct wiring harness adapter and that helped tremendously, whereas without it I would have had to do some wire splicing (I like soldering and shrink tube) so the adapter saved me a lot of work. The paperwork that comes with the adapter identifies the vehicle wires, colors, etc. The Kenwood KDC-BT755HD has been a fine radio. I like the hands-free bluetooth, the USB port, the HD radio...all of it. Even though the stock speakers sound fairly good, I plan on upgrading the speakers next year...maybe an extra amp(s) to drive them. Read through all of the paperwork and get familiar with your car before you begin. I didn't need to, but don't hesitate to call Crutchfield support for help. I hear they have very good tech support. Good Luck and enjoy!!! [ MIKE  Dec 03, 2013 ]
Its pretty straight forward...Crutchfield is pretty good about including all the hardware for a simple install. Make sure you check with their support about wiring harnesses...mine came included but if you have an uncommon car, you might have to purchase one. [ Carlos  Nov 29, 2013 ]
My installation was on a Ford F-150 and with everything that Crutchfield supplies it was fairly simple. As long as you can solder some wires, have a few tools and follow the directions supplied by Crutchfield it fairly easy. [ BRAD A  Nov 29, 2013 ]
The instructions Crutchfield provides are great. Make sure when you get the radio you get the wiring harness that fits you vehicle. Connect the wiring harness to the radio like the instructions advise. The Crutchfield instructions show each step it takes to take apart your vehicles dash and how to remove the old radio. Then put the new radio in and re-assemble the dash. Then crank up the toons. With the directions provided by Crutchfield, it makes installation SUPER Easy !!! [ CHRIS  Nov 28, 2013 ]
Hello Kevin, I installed in a 98 ford explorer. With the kit from Crutchfield it was a breeze. Their instructions and new face plate look great. The tech support from Crutchfield is a very good resource for any questions. Best of luck. [ Bubba J  Nov 28, 2013 ]
    very easy [ WILLIAM  Nov 28, 2013 ]
Took 45m to put it in a ford escape. [ RICHARD  Nov 27, 2013 ]
Kevin, It was super easy to install. The instructions are really detailed and besides, if you have any questions about installing the unit Crutchfield tech is always available! I am ENTIRELY pleased with this unit and I think you will be too! JB [ JOHN G.  Nov 27, 2013 ]
Even if you're not electonics savvy, this one's a breeze. The only tricky part is knowing how to remove the dash covers (which crutchfield has great photo instuctions). I recommended buying some dash cover removal tools. [ MARK  Nov 27, 2013 ]
I thought it was easy especially with the car harness they send for your specific car as well as mounting bracket to go from single and double din. I have bought several radios for several cars and havnt had a problem. However if you do I believe they can send out a tech to help free of charge or you can take it to a crutchfield outlet and they can help. [ MARK  Nov 27, 2013 ]
It was really easy to do. Crutchfield supplied wiring with factory connectors. I only had to solder a few wires together. If you are not comfortable soldering you can crimp them together or use small wire nuts to accomplish the same thing. [ ADAM P  Nov 27, 2013 ]
I purchased the wiring harness from Crutchfied which made the install pretty easy [ PAUL J  Nov 27, 2013 ]
    On a scale of 1 to 10 it was a 4 in a f250 Ford truck [ BILLY  Nov 27, 2013 ]
Sorry for the delayed response but in response to your question I haven't attempted to use the thumb drive on my unit to be quite honest it has so many other features that I've yet to even think about the USB port. [ ALEX  Nov 26, 2013 ]
Does not appear USB supports. A thumb drive .. No windows phone in household ,, sorry Good. Sound. Though. With. Bose. Speaker setup [ TIMOTHY  Nov 26, 2013 ]
Sorry Bob, I have no idea. Don't use it that way. It does work with an iPhone though. Not sure about the USB drive either. Sorry I can't help more. The manufacturer should be able to help I would think. [ PAUL L  Nov 25, 2013 ]
The USB works great with a thumb drive. Don't t know supporting a Windows Phone. Bluetooth works great from my Galaxy S3. Very pleased with unit. [ DAVID  Nov 25, 2013 ]
