Powerful clean sounding amp. Runs my kicker comp R.
I've had this amp running 2 12" Pioneer TS-W304R for about 5 months now and it hasn't failed to astonish me yet. The amp powers the subs great, and has never cut out or clipped when wired correctly (I had some wiring get messed up because of my crazy driving once and it just went into protect mode.) The amp does not get very hot and I believe I'm pushing it to about the max. It looks great and works even better. Easy to set up and I like the Phillips head screws for the connections, as well as the sleek covers for the terminals.
Pros: Small size Good wattage Fair price Was not noticeably refurbished Phillips head connections Easy adjustment
Cons: None yet (no bass knob?)
I've had this amp for about a month now, and I would have to say this is the easiest amp installation I've done before, very nice overall, comes will all necessary brackets and as close to plug and play as you can get with something like this.
Pros: Very small, easy to mount, ease of installation
Cons: None so far
Amazing amp i have it hooked to 2 12 inch kickers and ive competed with soundqubed systems dont let the size fool you ive beat the cone out if a polk audio 8 with this thing
Pros: Beats like a 1500 watt
This amplifier packs a hell of a punch, it is driving 2 Phoenix Gold 12'' Subs in a box in my trunk and sounds awesome, along with Kenwood Touch screen deck, the system is putting out over 700 watts which is more then plenty. Great Amp for the price and would highly recommend to anyone!!
Pros: Awesome and compact!!
Hooking this up to a Rockford and Fosgate 10" with a Kenwood head unit, love it!
Have this hooked up to a single 8" polk sac 4ohm. The amp is rated double the rms of the polk sub, stay consertive with the gain ad you'll be ok. Pounds the 8 louder than I expected.
Pros: Good looking solid amp. Doesn't get hot.
Cons: Subsonic filter would be nice but no biggie.
It is a very good product, sounds great. Would recommend to all. Driving 2 JL Audio 12WXv2-4 subs ported box in my 01 honda civic sedan.
Decent enough amp. I always use the RCA inputs, so keep that in mind. Probably not actually as loud as they claim (300 to 500 watts), but with the input tuned in to at or about 11:30, this is a clean robust amplifier. Trying to drive a DVC RF 8" sub in a sealed enclosure & found out quick I'm going to need a bigger sub. So, if you plan on driving just one speaker with this amp, and you want the cleanest signal possible, definitely go with a 10 or 12 inch sub. And I'm a big fan of sealed cabs. I just find they sound that much deeper,. & cleaner (again with that word). What else can I say? Quite a bargain at $150. Wish they would have put a fan in her though. Oh well. What can you expect for less than $200? Nice bargain, worth the cash.
Pros: Clean, somewhat loud. Easy to wire up.
Cons: No fan. not quite as loud as Kenwood claims (probably closer to 150 to 200 watts at 4 ohms).
The only one star review on here... Sounds like he wires his R/L Preamps to his +/- speaker leads. My opinion? This little thing packs quite the punch. Clean bass in a very small package. It looks nice, simple power on indicatior light that is easy to spot, the LPH works great, I enjoy everything about this amp so far. For the price, I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend this to my friends looking for a smaller one off sub set up 2009 Mini Cooper Clubman Kenwood 5001 JL Audio TW3 12" Sealed enclosure Pioneer speakers all around.
Pros: Small, clean sound, easy install, not an eyesore
This amp is powering my rockford fosgate p2d2 12 and it pushes it effortless in a ported enclosure
Works great and ordered another similar to it but for door speakers.
Pros: Performs well and stays cool
I have this amp hooked up to two infinity ref1260w in a sealed box and it pushes them great. Had it up halfway for 30 mins and it didn't even get warm can't wait to break subs in and fine tune it to see what this bad boy can do. Also for an amp that puts out this power its tiny compared to other amps in this wattage.
Pros: Size and power
Cons: Can't think of any
I have it powering a Kicker 10C124 12" 4ohm sub and it supplies all the power the sub asks for. It has just enough and the correct adjustment knob options to not cunfuse or intimidate a person that may be a first timer new to a speaker/sub install and adjustment. Its a small unit, so it doesn't take up alot of space, and, only having a small amount of room in my single cab truck, it was Exacly what I needed. I push the sub really hard and the Amp seems to barely run warm, and if I remember correctly, I have the gain at probably only 50-60% . Later this week I am going to wire in a Kenwood KFC-W12PS 12" 4ohm sub in parallel with the Kicker 12" its currently pushing. I do not doubt the amp at all for supplying the power that I will need to get the sound that I'm after.
Pros: Small/Compact Design. Right choice of adjustment knobs to get a good sounding sub adjustment.
Cons: None to speak of
Clean sound and decent power.
Pros: Compact size.
Wow. A ton of clean power
Pros: Perfect amp
Awesome amp, It slams my 12" re sub like nothing...
Pros: Powerful amp.
Cons: Its only 1000 watts
I purchased this amp to compliment my Kenwood DVD player and my Kenwood 12" sub and I was really disappointed. I like Kenwood products and have never had an issue with anything I have ever purchased manufactured by Kenwood but this amp kept turning off when I turned up the volume. I checked the settings with customer support and all settings and connections were proper. Maybe I just received a bad one. I returned it for refund.
Cons: Kept shutting down.
A good quality amp. Gets the job done well.

CEA-2006 Compliant: CEA-2006 is a system of testing and measurement methods for mobile audio amplifiers. This voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for determining an amplifier's RMS power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring power uses a DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured into a 4-ohm load, with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) plus noise, and over a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, when applicable (20-200 Hz for this subwoofer amp). Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4 ohms. CEA-2006 allows consumers to compare car amplifiers and receivers on an equal basis. Using CEA-2006 criteria, the Kenwood KAC-5001PS is rated at 300 Watts RMS x 1 channel with an 83 dBA signal to noise ratio.
Specifications: The manual also lists these non CEA-2006 compliant specifications:
Mono-Power Amp Design: The KAC-5001PS is designed with specific features to power your subwoofer(s) with a frequency range between 20 and 200 Hz. This amplifier is not designed to power a full-range speaker.
Class D Amplifier Design: The amplifier design is Class D, which uses digital switching power supplies. The result is much higher efficiency (less heat generated) than Class AB.
Low-Pass Filter: The built-in 24 dB/octave low-pass filter is continuously variable from 50 to 200 Hz. The crossover is always engaged (it cannot be bypassed).
Bass Boost: The bass boost circuit is centered at 40 Hz; boost is variable from 0 to +18 dB.

Lotsa power [ JEFF Mar 15, 2016 ]
To power my 10 inch Jensons [ David Jul 18, 2016 ]
This amplifier may be refurbished, but it puts out 300 watts at 4 ohms. The subwoofer I just purchased has an RMS of 350 watts at 4 ohms. It's a powerful mono amplifer (powers only one speaker) that won't put out too much power for my subwoofer. [ Hunter Jul 09, 2016 ]

Its not melting anything but you don't want to touch it very long and the fan is running [ steve Jul 20, 2014 ]
You have power to your amp, does it run really hot? [ steve Jul 19, 2014 ]
Hello, that means it is turned on, has an active power supply, and the remote wire is hooked up correctly. Thanks, Clint MVP Motorsports [ CLINT M Jul 14, 2014 ]
Thanks for the answer and incredible info to match. It also means I need a new amp to power the kicker or a new sub to match the Pioneer. But maximizing potential seems safer then under powering according to those links. I figured if I bought a sub that the amp couldn't blow I would be on the safer side, but apparently I figured wrong lol. Thanks again Krissy, forever in debt to your priceless advice ;-) [ John Jun 27, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The amplifier will automatically recognized the impedance that the subwoofer is showing to the amp and it will output the amount of power according to the impedance of the sub. Unless there is a third party controller you can find, there is no way to plug anything into the amp to control the bass output. Hope this helps. [ TYLER Feb 15, 2014 ]
The Scion XB I installed this amp in powers a pair of 12" Kenwoods subs. I believe the sub is under powered for the application. The factory head unit in the XB has a sub output level control which is ideal and can't imagine why you couldn't install an inline contoller. [ DONALD G Feb 14, 2014 ]
Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. Right now I have a kicker 300.1 pushing all three and it is a mono so than it might work right? [ Benoit Jul 13, 2016 ]
Have one pushing 2 rockford 10's, it works great, but I doubt it'll push all 3 of those together, all the subs need the same rms rating to use the same amp, and it depends on the total rms of all 3 subs together. So I'm sorry I can't truly help without knowing what subs they are. [ Andrew Jul 13, 2016 ]
Its a mono amp which means it only has one set of outputs on it, so you can get two subs going with it but not the third set. [ NATHAN Jul 13, 2016 ]
