For that special fit

It's the little things that can make a big difference when you're comparing speaker systems. Check out the features that distinguish these Kenwood plate speakers from the rest of the 6"x8" pack.

Each KFC-P680C speaker features a 6" woofer and 3/4" swivel tweeter with a high- and low-pass crossover network, all mounted onto a single 6"x8" plate. The stiff mica-injected polypropylene woofer delivers bass with a high degree of accuracy, while a durable butyl rubber surround controls cone excursion for smooth response.

Kenwood builds the soft dome tweeter from a lightweight yet stable material that radiates crystal-clear highs without harshness. The crossover network blends tweeter and woofer together seamlessly to eliminate "dead" or "hot" spots in your music.

Kenwood designs the KFC-P680C to fit perfectly in many Fords, Mazdas, and other vehicles with 6"x8" openings. Enjoy the superior sound of component speakers from these easy-to-install Kenwoods.

not quite worth the price

2010 Ford F-150 XLT
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

i thought these component speakers would be a great upgrade to my stock f-150 speakers but the mids sound worse than the stock speakers i took out. the highs sounds great but there is significant distortion with the mids. they were really easy to install but other than that, not worth the price. dont waste your money on these. you can find a better quality sound with a cheaper speakers.

Pros: easy to install

Cons: mids sound horrible price does not reflect quality

KFC-P680C Great Speakers

2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Love these speakers. Running them with stock radio unit right now, and it is a night and day difference in sound quality with just the speakers being changed. Really needs proper power. Can't wait to put a great head unit and amp to run them the way they were meant to be used (distortion free). Sound quality is excellent mid and high with some low brought out. For the price they are great speakers without going to very high end equipment that costs much more.

Pros: Pro: Like the tweeter not being over the coax part of the speaker I think that is great. Easy install pretty simple. Holes lined up properly in my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac late model. Had to make adjustments to get them installed in the front (though holes lined up properly), rear went in easily. CrutchField is more expensive but the customer support is great and helpful. It is worth paying extra to get the right additional parts for installation and support when things aren't going well.

Cons: Con: Speaker tabs (negative terminal) broke, not very strong, but once you get them on its done, and CrutchField sent a replacement quickly after I broke a tab.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Perfect hole line up on the speaker support bracket which affixes to the door frame. With the stock radio, gave a great improvement in sound clarity over the old stock speakers.

Pros: Crutchfield supplied the door cable to speaker cable for free (as usual). No soldering required anywhere. Replaced both front door speakers within an hour.

Cons: You need to watch the relevant videos available on line for Ford Focus door panel removal videos.

fantasic speakers

kfc p680c great speakers from severn maryland on 4/7/2014

Very easy to install , shipping was fast ,all the brackets lined up and they sound great now that I have a new head unit . If you are planning on purchasing these speakers do your self a favor and buy a head unit because they sound terrible under powered . If u get a head unit with a built in amp with 22 rms 50 watts per channel it will sound crystal clear.

Cons: Be careful when connecting the wires to the speakers the metal is a little thin

Great sound and easy install Kenwood KFC-P680C

m from Denver, CO on 12/1/2012

Installed 2 sets in 2004 Mercury Mountaineer. Installed went perfectly smooth. These speakers mount in the right spots without any mods. Once installed, they sounded awesome! For spending couple of hours in install, because I am a novice, and awesome sound for good price(other sites). I am used to Legacy Audio Whysper XD's at home.. So I know what good sound is supposed to be like. I would recommend these to anyone who wants quick and easy sound upgrade to their cars.

Kenwood makes a great product

Tyler N. from Toledo, OH on 7/7/2011

I didn't really know what to expect from these speakers before purchase. No one I knew had ever tried them and I even tried some car audio forums to find information. No one seemed to have any. I took a leap of faith and purchased them. I couldn't be happier! The sensitivity is high enough to work well with my factory radio and provide crisp, clear highs and mids. I lost a little bottom end switching to these over the factory speaker, but what it lacks in volume, it makes up for in quality. Give these a try, you'll love them! (P.S. There are better prices out there...)

There is a reason theses speakers cost a little more. It's call GREAT sound wich is what you can expect from these speakers. Install in my Ford expedition and even though the gas prices are up, I still want to take my truck on every outing no matter how short or long the trip might be. That is what great sound does for me.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are pretty good speakers for a plate package. They sound good and they produce reasonable bass for a component set.

The only real gripe I have is that they are nowhere near 6" woofers, measured with measuring tape they are like 5.25 at most. If you have 6x8 openings and don't want to try and force 6 1/2" components to fit, these are a great substitute.

Yes mine are awesome [ Bryant Mar 26, 2015 ]
No. I purchased baffles for my 2010 f 150 and they rattle and sound horrible. I removed them shortly after. [ kelly Mar 26, 2015 ]
If you are talking about those aftermarket foam surrounds, I tried them and Ireally noticed no improvement in sound qualit, and the doors on my 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis seem to be tightly sealed. When taking the doors apart to install the speakers, I noticed no evidence of water or condensation inside the doors, and at the t ime this was a 12 year old car. If I had it to do over, I would save my money. [ THOMAS J Mar 26, 2015 ]
Use them. Not only will they protect them they also make them sound better. [ Christian Mar 26, 2015 ]
I was asked to answer this question but I do not know. I ordered them for my 2003 Thunderbird. The speakers fit but unfortunately the stock radio only sent the high end frequencies and as a result they did not sound good in the Thunderbird. I hooked up the speakers to my dodge and they sounded great. So the fault is not with the speaker but the stock radio. As far as a baffle you would be better to put them in to protect them in my opinion. [ Guy Mar 25, 2015 ]
