About the Monster Cable M Series® M850dcx
To experience all of the subtle sonic nuances in digital music and movie soundtracks, connect your components with Monster Cable® M850dcx high-resolution coaxial digital cables. They're engineered to provide accurate digital signal transmission, so you'll enjoy smooth, natural sound and clear vocals from your digital audio sources.
This low-loss cable starts with a silver-coated, large-gauge copper conductor, which offers excellent conductivity and resistance to timing jitter. A gas-injected dielectric material makes up the next layer, insulating the signal as it travels down the cable and keeping the core wire properly spaced from the outer shields. The cable's dual-layer shielding features Mylar® foil to reject radio frequency interference from sources like wireless devices, plus a braided copper layer to suppress electromagnet interference, which can be radiated by nearby power cords.
Monster's gold-plated Turbine connectors have ten precision cuts in the collar, plus a split-tip center pin for a reliably snug, secure connection that won't corrode.

Features
M850DCX Silver Digital Audio Cable: The Monster M850DCX high-resolution digital coaxial cable provides accurate, high resolution digital transmission for smoother, more natural sound. To experience all the subtlety, sonic detail, and realism in your digital audio, you need a cable that can accurately transfer high-bandwidth signals. Unfortunately, not all digital coaxial cables are up to the challenge. In fact, poorly constructed coaxial cables can actually degrade the digital bitstream and induce a time-domain clock jitter, diminishing the fidelity of music and movie audio. The Monster M850DCX digital coaxial cable features exclusive Monster technologies that dramatically reduce signal degradation and jitter for audiophile-quality sound for your movies and music. What you hear, without compromise, is exactly what the director and performers intended.
Silver-Coated Conductor: The M850DCX features a large-gauge silver-coated conductor that lowers resistance and increase the velocity of high-frequency digital signals.
Impedance-Matching Design: The cable also boasts a precise impedance-matching design that minimize return loss, so music, dialogue, and sound effects are always clear, dramatic and detailed.
Nitrogen Gas-Injected Dielectric: A nitrogen gas-injected dielectric maximizes velocity of propagation for maximum signal strength and reduced bit error, even over long runs.
24k Gold Turbine Connectors: To reduce distortion and signal loss at the point of connection, the M850DCX features patented Turbine connectors with premium 24k gold contacts and 10 individually cut contact points. This no-slip, corrosion-resistant connection is reliable, rugged, and built to last.
Metal Connector Shell: The Monster M850DCX high-resolution digital coaxial cable employs a rugged protective metal housing with premium finish for long-lasting durability and style.
Dual-Layer Shielding: 100% aluminized Mylar foil and 95% copper braid metal-to-metal shielding ensure optimum rejection of EM and RF interference.

I needed a 4 foot digital audio cable and at 9.99 I figured what the heck. I knew Crutchfield would make it right if I wasn't satisfied. I'm using it from a basic LG Blu Ray Player thru an amp, nothing fancy just basic stuff. It works fine, passes the audio and to my ear it sounds fine.
