Seems to keep the factory reception the same. I don't think it's any better or worse. Would be nice if there was a packing slip to show this piece is actually included in the kit. Didn't know it was until my factory cable wouldn't connect to the aftermarket head unit. After a call to tech support they said I needed the antenna adapter included in the shipment. Sure enough there it was in the pile of packing peanuts at the bottom of our dumpster. Smh

Plugs right in. Note, that while no fault of the Antenna Adapter, but unplugging the original GM antenna wire from the OEM radio was a bit difficult and I was afraid to pull too hard. Apparently, it was still just a friction fit, but it was pretty darn tight.

Super easy to use. I used it on my girlfriend's 2007 Jeep Liberty 4x4 with Infinity sound system when I replaced her OEM head unit with an Alpine 154bt. I've also used the GM version with my 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 z71 with Bose sound system when I replaced the OEM head unit with an Alpine 133bt. Both times were super easy. It plugs into the aftermarket unit on one end and the stock OEM antenna connector plugs into the other end.
