Metra 70-7303 Receiver Wiring Harness
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
It works, but didn't "click" in like the harness it replaced. I had to super glue it in.

This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.
First, attach the color-coded wires on your Crutchfield-supplied harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you're not using a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors to secure the connections. Check out our handy article on three ways to connect the wiring harness here.
Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness makes installing your new stereo easier, and allows you to put the factory radio back when you sell your vehicle or return it at the end of the lease. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the harness. Warranty: 60 days.
Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate special navigation, video, or factory steering wheel control connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo.
Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.
Average Customer Review(s):
It works, but didn't "click" in like the harness it replaced. I had to super glue it in.
Product was perfect for wiring radio
I had to tape harness to keep tight connection
Pros: Time saver
Cons: Cheap connecter, wouldn't keep connection without electrical tape holding harness tight
Fits... Easy to connect. I soldered the connections but it could have easily been connected with wire caps or electric tape.
Pros: Fits. Easy
Made an easy install of replacement unit. Everything worked as if from the factory.
Pros: Easy to install.
Wiring was easy, took about 10 minutes to remove the old connections and establish the new. Only gripe is that the wiring harness set did not include an antenna line adapter, which given one of the connections only has a single wire running to it seemed amiss in this package.
Pros: Quick to install
Cons: Thought it would include the radio antenna line connector.
Matched up great, wire colors were 1:1 with factory wire. No issues.
Pros: It works.
Cons: None so far.
All of these wiring harnesses are essential they make installing a car stereo too easy, I love that I can solder my wires before even getting in the car, these harnesses also make it easy to reinstall stock stereo if you ever wish to sell car. I remember when I was 15 and received my first Crutchfield package all of the free harnesses made life so easy for a young sound system enthusiast, now 6 years later I don't order stereos from anyone else. Thanks Crutchfield for always being genuine in every category!
Pros: Keep it up Crutchfield
Cons: No Cons ever
Perfect fit into factory harness. Easy easy easy installation. Vehicle 2010 Hyundai Elantra
Pros: Perfect fit, easy installation
The wiring harness is great, didn't have to cut any wire just splice the two wiring harnesses together and plug them in. Everything worked great
The red connector had one one which was out of place. It took some time for tech support to spot the problem. I had to tape the connector to the OEM receptacle as it was not locking into place. It works now.
Easy to use with reasonably clear directions--helped that the colors matched my head unit's wiring.
Worked very well with the factory harnesses. The top (red one) gave power to my subwoofer.
Pros: Easy install
Cons: None so far
Perfect fit did not have to cut factory wires.
Pros: Easy install.
Harness eliminates any chance of crossing positive to negatives or vice versa. Additionally, if you have a speaker vehicle, this harness keeps all 6-speakers pumping out of aftermarket 4-channel stereos.
Pros: Easy install and all 6-speakers operate on four channel stereos.
Product works great with 0 issues and the tech support team helped me with the wiring to the vehicle...
Pros: Quick connect, majority of the wires were color coordinated meaning connect directly to the same colored wire that went to the device.
Cons: Should have came with instructions on what wires would be left alone and which wires would need to be connected together, then connected to the unit wiring harness, would have saved time.
Pros: Easy to install
Pin was in the wrong location. The red connector only has one wire in it, and it had to be relocated to pins over. Thanks to Crutchfield support who figured out where it needed to go. It is possible to push the pin out from the front and lock it in place in its new position.
Cons: One wire in the wrong spot meant whole stereo didn't work.
Worked as I expected. Wire gauge is a tad small just have to get the right wiring connectors.
Pros: It works
Cons: Small wire gauge
This simplifies the wiring process a ton. I had extra wires that didn't get used, and that was a little confusing at first, but that's probably unavoidable since it would depend on the system you're setting up.
Pros: Makes installation much easier
Cons: Instructions could be clearer about how some wires won't be used in certain setups
It worked as advertised
Cons: Instructions could be cleared as to which connector goes where. 3 factory connectors have to plug into 2 on the wiring harness. Would also be helpful to identify satellite antenna connector which doesn't get used when replacing the deck with a non-satellite model.
One problem it was connecting to red cable, It should be connecting to pink cable for amplifier power on. I have KIA 2009 sportage. with crutcfield technical support it was quickly resolved.
Fit just like it should. Easy instructions on packaging
Pros: easy to set-up
Awesome!!!! Made wiring beyond simple. A++++++ product. Can't get any easier. Thank You Crutchfield
Pros: Everything about it!!!
Fits great.....no issues
Pros: Works well. Easy diagram for installation.
Cons: Cheap plastic cracked a little bit when stripping wires.
Works perfectly no issues installing it into my car
This adapter mates perfectly with the OEM radio connector in a 2009 Hyundai Accent. The connector locking mechanism holds it securely.
Pros: Mates perfectly. The wire color coding matches very well with the OEM wiring and the radio interface connector.
Cons: Takes some time to splice into the radio's interface assembly.
Made a nice connection with my 09 Kia Sportage.
Perfect fit, snapped right in.
Pros: Perfect Fit, Easy Install
This product performs as advertised I would recommend it to a friend
Works perfectly. Everything fits, and the directions are clear with good illustrations.
The included instructions with the diagram were excellent. The requirement to attach one particular wire was not clear and had to call Crutchfield for assistance . . . they cleared it up quickly and got the unit operating properly.
Part is physically correct (ie the harness fits the OEM harness), but the factory amp turn-on wire wasn't lined up to the correct port on the harness (2009 Kia Rondo). Only after hours of troubleshooting (and installing the PAC SOEM, which wasn't needed) was this revealed. In short - check to make sure the wire the harness is lined up to is actually connected to a wire on the OEM end - mine wasnt!
There was no connector for power to the antenna preamp. They don't tell you the red connector isn't used. Without the wiring diagrams for the car, I don't think I could have made it work.
Pros: Barely adequate.
Cons: You have to have the wiring diagram for your vehicle.
Perhaps it has been 20 years since I last replaced a factory radio, but I did not expect to deal with so many different colored wires and crimping. My wife thought I just started brain surgery and gone way over my head. I was hoping to just connect this to this and to that. But in the end, it worked out despite having to make some executive, educated guessing.
Pros: It worked out in the end.
Cons: Lots of wires to crimp and caused stress, frustration and confusion
hook up just like the factory had no problems what so ever thanks crutchfield
Not happy. On a better note, everything else we ordered was fantastic.
Cons: After having my rep check with the tech department to verify that this was the correct part for a 2008 Tucson, I was very disappointed to have to buy a new harness when a tech was installing the unit.Crutchfield response on 11/18/2011 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. perfect fit for a 2011 accent with no factory radio.
I had no problems with these harnesses. With the radio I bought, I did not need the red harness. It all worked just as I wanted.
Had every lead I needed. Plus a couple I didn't. Great coverage!
Worked great. Used with Clarion stereo. Perfect.
Used with a Dual Receiver xhd7714 on my Hyundai 2010 accent, and everything worked fine.
I bought this for my 2009 Hyundai Elantra and it did not fit. The 2009 Elantra uses the 24 pin plug that the 2008 uses, so do not buy this for the 2009. Pull out the factory radio first before buying a plug online so you can make sure not to be stuck with something that doesn't fit.
Wiring Harness: This wiring harness prevents you from having to cut your vehicle's factory radio plug when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Simply solder or crimp the wiring harness to your aftermarket head unit's harness (solder & crimps not included), plug the aftermarket head unit's plug into the rear chassis of the aftermarket head unit, and plug the wiring harness into your vehicle's factory radio plug.
Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.
Wiring Notes: If the wiring harness is not equipped with a ground wire, you will need to ground the aftermarket head unit's ground wire to the metal chassis of your vehicle. Some vehicles may require you to bypass the vehicle's factory amplifier (in another location from factory radio) or hardwire certain connections. If your vehicle is equipped with factory steering wheel controls, an additional SWC adapter is required & sold separately.
