This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.
First, attach the color-coded wires on your Crutchfield-supplied harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you're not using a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors to secure the connections. Check out our handy article on three ways to connect the wiring harness here.
Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness saves installation time since you won't have to cut factory wires individually, and this also enables you to re-install the factory radio if needed. A detailed instruction sheet comes with the harness. Warranty: 60 days.
Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate special navigation, video, or factory steering wheel control connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo.
Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

Makes connection a breeze. Highly recommend.
Worked with no issues.
Easy straight forward install, no surprises.
Pros: Easy install
fits perfect with my vehicle
Harness is missing a number of pins required to connect with Pioneer AVH-4200NEX and 2017 Kia Sorento.

Exactly what was needed to install after market stereo.
Hi all. Bought a few of these to make a T Adapter for my 16 Tucson. I pulled the wiring and Pins. And reinstalled in one connector. So I can wire an aftermarket amplifier to the factory radio. Only reason I gave 4 Stars is, I called Metra to find out what size the Pins are. And they were of no help to me. Then hung up on me.
Cons: Can't get the pins separately for my project. Had to purchase several to get all I needed.
No problems, works like it should.
This wiring harness makes connections a lot easier, wish I had these back in the 80's when I used to install car stereos for my friends.
Was the perfect fit and easy to install
connected fine, but figuring out which wires to connect was a chore. Colors did not exactly match with JVC KD-X330BTS receiver.
Pros: Plugs fit and connection works.
Good quick shipping great product
wiring receiver harness worked great for my 2013 Elantra.. Note you will still need to google the wiring pin-out for the car to match this harness.
Fits exactly with the car factory harness and no splicing into the factory wiring
Pros: Plug and play
This wiring harness worked perfectly to connect a Pioneer AVH-X5800GHS to my 2014 Hyundai Elantra GT.
Worked as advertised !
This product fits my 2011 hyundai sonata and is working as expected. It seems to be of good quality.
Everything was easy and simple to use.
Pros: Pre cut ends, simple connections.
Cons: Doesn't have color code listed for steering controls. Had to look it up online.
Great harness. Easy to use and easy to install with.
I always depend on Metra to ensure my installs are accurate and easy. 3rd different vehicle, again exceptionally easy to install and accurate.
Works flawlessly and had no issues. Was very helpful that it came with added instructions to install the ASWC-1 also.
The colors were off in comparison to the wiring color chart & one of the pins in the connector came out while plugging into the vehicle harness.
Pros: Simplified connections without splicing into the vehicle harness.
Cons: Poor quality in this kit.
No issues whatsoever.
Pros: Easy to use, clear instructions
Perfect matchup with stock
Pros: Perfect matchup with stock
Cons: Could be smaller build to fit easier
Provided all the wires I needed for install. Pre-stripped wires were nice, but in my install a problem. Would like to see wires that may or may not be connected looped back under labels for wire function like Kenwood wire looms. Would like to see every wire that is connected on Kia to have a wire in this loom.
Pros: Provides all the basic functions plus a couple of nice other ones to have. Prestripped wires are nice to have. Nice to not have to cut and splice wire.
Cons: No labels as to function of wires. Have to rely on install guide. Wires that may be optional (IE: Speed sense) should be looped back under a label so we can remove them if we need them. Longer wire stubs would be nice.
Both worked and for perfectly
Pros: Fit, ease of install
works like it should. easy color coded wiring harness installed in no time.
Everything arrived ahead of schedule and wired up just fine. The pre-stripped wore made connections even easier.
Pros: Works as intended.
Plugs fit factory plugs
Pros: Looks professional after I chose to solder the connections and use shrink tubing.
Cons: You might have to match up a different color wire on the after market plug, but ounce you do everything works great.
My first time messing with an install. Being color blind, things went a little slow but I was able to get everything matched up except for 2 wires that had different colors than what Alpine unit and SWI RC said to tie into. A quick call to Crutchfield fixed it and amazingly everything worked first try. I looked at buying everything separate from another famous online vendor and could've saved $ but so glad I had Crutchfield to support me. I don't think I would've ever figured out where that the orange green wire was my tie into the steering wheel harness. Still a very easy install.
Pros: Everything worked perfectly
Cons: Instructions from Metra conflict with SWI RC
Perfect fit. No complaints.
Pros: Perfect fit.
Easy to install
Cons: Cables comes out
works as it should. Had a few issues with the pins popping out. Could have been my fault....just be careful when connecting to harness and check the pins after its connected.
Pros: exact fit
Pros: Another great product from crutchfield
Does what it is supposed to do - boy there are quite a number of wires to connect..
Pros: Does what is is designed to do
This is less about the product and more about customer service. I have a 2013 Hyundai Veloster and the website said it was for my car - but it's now been updated after my issue to show that it's not for my car. I called Crutchfield and was reassured this is the correct harness. So, I ordered it. I've installed all my own stereos in the past but the local guys implied that my vehicle could be slightly difficult. But, the product advisor insisted it's not. Well, I made my connections, double and triple checked my work then installed the stereo. Hmm....sound is off. Unable to fade to the back speakers. Uninstalled and checked everything again....Nope....sound still off. Called into Crutchfield, next person assured me again that this is the right harness and suggested something is wrong with the stereo. I was able to get my hands on another Sony and tried again. Same problem. Now I know it's the harness. Bought another one from somewhere else - same sound issues. After a week of troubleshooting and trying other options, I called Crutchfield again and explained everything. I was transferred to RJ who put me on hold while he searched for answers. He came back with some good info and confirmed it with Metra - this is the WRONG harness. The right one IS $150. But, There may be an alternate way of wiring this harness to work with my system. I'll know this week. If everything works, RJ is my hero. Crutchfield has since updated their website.
Pros: Low price. Should be simple if it's the right harness for your car. RJ is the example of excellence the rest of Crutchfield's advisors should follow. He should get a bonus or an extra paid day off for going overboard on my issue.
Cons: Crutchfield didn't do their homework before listing this as the harness for 2013 Hyundai Veloster (and I'm sure a few other models). They've since corrected their mistake but only after almost two weeks of my failure after they assured and reassured me this was the correct part. Now I'll question if they know what they're talking about if I ever need help again. Maybe I'll be able to contact RJ directly if I need to.
Everything that you need for a clean install.
Pros: A few crimps and everything is plug and play
Cons: None at all
Pros: easy and seems to be quality
Best price in the market
The product is great the shipping sucks took way to long should use on track instead of ups
Pros: Great product
Cons: Shipping sucks takes way to long
I liked how all the colors matched and it made my life a lot easier than trying to do it without a harness.
Pros: It worked... mostly
Cons: The black wire that was labeled to the steering wheel harness was in the wrong spot. I had to jump to negative to get it to work. It wasn't a big deal but it was an hour of troubleshooting that I'll never get back.
Worked as planned. all of the wiring was where it said it should be and it connected to the car with no issues
Pros: great kit to help with installation
This does fit the Kia Soul for the 2.0 L non Evo cars. It also move with the wiring for the speed sensor and the wire for the steering wheel controls. I personally needed 3 of these harnesses and pulled the pins out of 2 of them to integrate the factory kia USB Aux input and Microphone inputs so I didn't void my electrical warranty.
Pros: Quality harness, fits tfactory plug correctly and all of the wire ae in the correct place.
Wiring Harness: This wiring harness prevents you from having to cut your vehicle's factory radio plug when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Simply solder or crimp the wiring harness to your aftermarket head unit's harness (solder & crimps not included), plug the aftermarket head unit's plug into the rear chassis of the aftermarket head unit, and plug the wiring harness into your vehicle's factory radio plug.
Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Using wiring harness makes installation so much easier and simpler (and Crutchfield provides for free in most instances). Just connect to the car's factory harness then splice the bare speaker wires (usually color matched to your car's wires). If you ever want to reinstall the factory radio (like if you're selling the car) it's just a matter of reversing the process. [ Edgardo Jul 07, 2017 ]

I've done plenty or audio installs in my lifetime both on my own vehicles along with other friends and family members. I've used other dash kits to either save money or due to availability and Metra in my opinion is the way to go. I've never had an issue with fitment or color matching which I have with other kits such as scorch and the quality of the kits is always above expectation. I wouldn't use any other dash kit.
