Overview

These harnesses allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in your vehicle's speaker openings.

These harnesses allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in your vehicle's speaker openings.

Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the Crutchfield harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular - see "Accessories."

Includes Crutchfield's 60-Day Total Satisfaction Guarantee

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

Super Easy To Use Product

JAB from OK on 8/13/2013

1993 Ford Econoline
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My husband purchased a 1993 Ford E150 XL econoline van a few months ago and his factory speakers (in 2013) were.....TOAST! He's not into stereos like I am but he did admit the sound was a bit off. I couldn't stand it any longer so I purchased a new Pioneer system for his truck and this speaker wiring harness worked GREAT when we installed the after market speakers to his factory wiring harness. If you haven't installed speakers before you don't have to worry about using these! The way they are made they take all the guess work out of how to use them. When you see it in person you will understand this. The end of this harness that you connect to the factory wiring harness connects in only one direction. The end that connects to the speakers plugs in only one way as well. There is one large connector and one smaller connector which is the way after market speakers are made (one larger post and one smaller post). It's a no brainer! It takes more time to break everything down (removing door panels, old speakers etc.) than it does to hook up your new speakers. My hubbie didn't think it was necessary to replace his old junk factory stereo system. That is until he heard the new one! Now he can enjoy listening to his favorite music whenever he feels like it and I don't have to be embarrassed anymore when he pulls into the driveway!

Pros: Quick and easy hook up! A novice will have no problems using it!

Cons: NONE!

Mike from Raleigh, NC on 5/10/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Looked to be easy but not so much. Pins are sloppy and I could not get a good connection with all 4 speakers. I ended up cutting back the plastic housing to expose about 1/4 inch of the pins so I could make sure each pin entered the connection on the speaker plugin. Cutting the plastic back eliminated the locking clip. Sealed the connection w electrical tape. It worked fine then .

Pros: Easy connect to deck w RCA plugs

Cons: Pins connecting to speakers were impossible to mate properly to get all speakers connected. Called technician at Crutchfield. Very nice but could not make it work. Ended up modifying the part to get it to work.

Ford/Mazda wiring harness

Dave D from Wenatchee, WA on 2/16/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Because I ran all new speaker wires to completely bypass the old radio and Premium Sound System amplifier, I didn't use the adapter harnesses supplied with the speakers. The main worry with new speakers is getting the polarity right, and by matching the color codes on the harness with the pigtail wires that came with the speakers, you would have to get it hooked up wrong on purpose. If my speakers weren't hooked to the old amplifier, using the original wiring and the adapter harness would have made the installation much simpler.

Pros: Kudos to Crutchfield for supplying everything to make installing a new system easy!

Cons: none

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

How freaking nice to have a "plug and play" item. Snap it onto the speakers then plug it into the cars harness and your done. No tape, solder, cutting or anything. I will never install a speaker without the harness again.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am a phanatic about keeping a classic car or any new car as original as possible, with the exception of upgrading a sound system. The hardest thing for me to do is cut off an original harness plug. I just can't do it. The speaker adapter plugs that Crutchfield includes with a speaker purchase are absolutely invaluable. They make the install simple, guarantee that the speakers are properly phased and prevent the anguish of destroying an original harness plug. They are an excellent bonus for shopping at Crutchfield.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First time buyer from Crutchfield. I have to say I will be back! This product worked great. Really made my installation into my 1998 F150 much easier. I am used to butt crimp connectors and all kinds of ways of connecting speaker wiring. This is much easier and takes away the guess work of which wire is positive or negative. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants an easier install or is not ever experienced with making proper wire connections.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If they were the right connectors for my vehicle. I have a 2006 Ford E-150 Van...and 3 pair of these were recommended by a Crutchfield Advisor. I took the front door panel off and discovered that these are not the correct connector type. I called to verify with tech support and they said they were correct...but only for the front speakers. That was not the case...All 6 speakers connections in the factory harness had a square style connector with rounded corners. They did give me all the color codes to each speaker so I could splice them in...SUPER helpful! C'mon Crutchfield you are usually spot on with your vehicle specific info. Everything else was great...just a minor speed bump...and $$$ in the wrong wiring harnesses.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It seems every car company wants to have their own proprietary connectors on everything from speakers to lighting. Crutchfield and their wiring harnesses converts your car's speaker connector(s) into ones that will plug in to your new speakers, with no fuss whatsoever. I had a "buzzy" OEM door speaker that was driving me crazy (cone was shot). I'd wanted to replace it for quite awhile, but after having to rework wiring systems on my car for other aftermarket products, I was in no hurry to deal with it. Crutchfield not only told me what speakers I needed based on my make and model of car, but threw in these great wiring harnesses for free! It made replacing both speakers ridiculously easy. The whole operation with both speakers took just under an hour, and most of that time was finding all the screws and clips holding the inner door panel on. With Crutchfield, ANYONE can upgrade their car's audio system. I know I'll be back for more.

I used these while installing new speakers in my friend's 20002 Mustang and it saved me the hassle of having to solder the factory wires onto the tabs of the new speakers. I was a bit concerned about the plastic connector rattling around inside the door, or even coming loose but so far there hasn't been a single problem. It's great that Crutchfield bundles these with your speaker orders as it saves a lot of time!

Features

Crutchfield Speaker Harness: Crutchfield speaker harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker plugs when replacing your factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. The Crutchfield speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end to attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers & a proprietary Molex connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The Crutchfield speaker harness is equipped with a large (positive) & small (negative) female quick-slide terminal. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your car speaker terminals, you will need to solder the Crutchfield speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals or replace the quick-slide connectors on the Crutchfield speaker harness with the correct size terminal.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.115" (inner width).

Wire Code Chart: Two identical Crutchfield speaker harnesses are included.
