Metra 71-035LC harnesses

These harnesses allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in your vehicle's speaker openings. They are priced per pair.  Please enter your vehicle information or call an Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to find out if these adapters are compatible with your vehicle. Warranty: 60 days.

Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the Crutchfield harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular — see "Accessories."

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

My car is fairly rare and this harness worked perfectly. Crutchfield takes the time to make sure that when they say speakers have an adapter kit that will work for you, they mean it.

Vaughn from Andrews, TX on 10/28/2016

2011 Toyota Tacoma
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These wires work well for the woofers, but they don't actually connect where it counts in my vehicle. In the 2011 Tacoma, the front seat speaker signal is passed from the tweeters down to the lower speakers. These cables only attach to the woofer level, and you have to splice into the incoming line near the tweeters from the head unit to get the setup to work. You wind up with a setup that doesn't actually used the component features of speakers that include both woofers and tweeters. As a result, you have to manually adjust the equalizer to tone down the treble sounds coming from the tweeters.

Pros: Plugs into the woofer harness well

Cons: Doesn't attach to the signal supply harness coming from the head unit via the tweeters.

2005 Lexus ES330
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This came free with my order of new front speakers for a 2005 Lexus ES330. It's a pair of wires with a plastic clip - kind of hard to get that wrong, I guess, and hard to complain when they're free. But they don't actually help much when installing component speakers. I clipped off the female connector ends and soldered directly to the crossover - so still had some wiring to do. But it was helpful to have the plastic clip, because you need to be able to easily connect/disconnect when reinstalling the door panel or if it ever needs to come off again.

Pros: It's a pair of wires with a plastic clip

Cons:

These were a treat to use after struggling with the door panels and speaker mounting. It was nice to not have to worry about the final wiring hookup. These plugged into my RAV4's OEM speaker wiring just fine and were plenty long enough to reach the speaker easily. The two different sized connectors on the wire ends made it a no-think install.

Pros: Fit OEM plugs exactly. Wiring terminals are nice. Plenty long enough

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I received these wiring harnesses to use in my 2011 Toyota 4Runner to connect new Rockford Fosgate Punch P1692 6x9s. The connectors for the stock wiring in the 4Runner attach perfectly but the metal terminals that slide onto the metal posts on the speakers are far too narrow for simple "plug and play" connecting. I had to break the red plastic off the outside of the terminals so I could mangle the metal terminals to make the wide enough to wrap around around the speaker posts. I manged to make it work but there's not a lot of metal wrapping around the speaker posts now and I worry my bang-up job might result in the terminals falling off the speaker posts at some point.

Pros: Attach to stock wiring in 2011 Toyota 4Runner

Cons: Metal terminals that connect to speakers are far too narrow and must be manually widened and crimped onto the speaker posts.

These adapters are not necessary, but are nice to have. The fact that Crutchfield supplies them for free with speaker purchase is awesome. Jeremy from Memphis, TN on 12/22/2015

2009 Toyota Highlander
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These were provided with some 6x9 door speakers I ordered. While they did connect to the speaker wire harness in the doors, the factory speakers mount in a bracket that has a pass through connector. This harness only fit the door harness that connected to the outside of the bracket so I had to drill holes in the bracket to pass it through to the speaker. It would have been nice if it fit the connector on the inside of the bracket. That way I could have left the factory door harness connected to the outside of the bracket and used this on the connector inside the bracket to the speaker.

Pros: Free and it worked.

Cons: Did not fit to connector inside of speaker mounting bracket. Had to drill holes in bracket to make his work.

Helpful Extra

2008 Toyota 4Runner
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nice extra that makes installing speakers quick and effortless. The adapter has always worked perfectly every time I've ordered and used them. Only reason I gave it 4 star this time is because I could only use it for the rear speakers. Our 2008 Toyota 4Runner has factory tweeters in the front doors. The Crutchfield adapters work on the mid-woofer but the problem was that the head unit signal goes to the tweeter first. The connector does not fit on the factory connector for the tweeter. We had to cut and splice the signal to the crossover for the new component speakers.

Pros: Quick. Effortless. Easy to use.

Cons: None, really.

Definitely worth it to pay the couple extra bucks to buy it here.

Pros: fits, comes with installation guide (not that you need it), great customer service.

Cons: you don't really need this if you have some wire crimps. In fact I totally forgot to use it on one side and just crimped the wires together instead.

We replaced our factory equipment in our 2008 Toyota Tacoma with a JVC receiver, six JBL speakers, and an Alpine amp. It sounds amazing! We had it professionally installed and they said Crutchfield was always so good about including everything that makes their job easier. We even saved money on the installation because everything went together smoothly and was made to fit in our truck. The customer service staff at Crutchfield was VERY good at putting together a system specifically for our truck and took the time to make sure everything would work together to give us the best possible sound at our price point. When it comes time to get the subwoofer, we will be buying it, and any other electronics, from Crutchfield.
