Overview

These harnesses will allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in the speaker openings for your vehicle.

These harnesses will allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in the speaker openings for your vehicle.

Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the Crutchfield harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular — see "Accessories."

Includes Crutchfield's 60-Day Total Satisfaction Guarantee

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

one missing wire harness may not be that big of a deal, but cutting into my vehicle's existing wire harness was not a part of my plan, because the weather was below zero I did not want to have to take this apart again in five days after the new pair of wire harnesses would be shipped.

Pros: got 1 in a bag that was supposed to have a pair

Cons: missing 1 wire harness

These wires came free with my order from Crutchfield, I did not know that I even needed these and they turned out to be one of the most important parts of my order. These adapters connect directly to the speaker terminals and then plug right into the factory ford speaker wires. Very easy and very happy.

Used these on a 2014 F150 (Don't know why it says 2013 under vehicle) to install some drop-in replacement speakers. The instructions were very clear, turned a 15 minute job into a 5 minute job. These adapters were great - They fit the factory harness with no slop. The crimp on connectors also had the perfect amount of tension where they connect to the speaker so that I'm not concerned about them coming loose.

Pros: Fit perfectly, did exactly what was expected without further work.

fit car, not speaker. Terminal size difference in my Rockford Fosgate

RJ from Peoria, IL on 2/22/2016

2013 Ford Edge
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The adapters fit great to the car. The problem was on the speaker side. The negative terminal was not even close to fitting the Rockford Fosgate Punch P1683 6 x 8-Inches Full Range 3-Way Speakers that ordered (these connectors were sent with the speakers via Crutchfield automatically). After doing some reading other posts, it seems Crutchfield is aware these do not fit Rockford Fosgate and some other speaker manufactures who use larger terminals. This turned into a real pain at 1AM when I had all the door panels off. Not really convenient to go to your local electrical supply store to find the proper terminals to crimp onto the connectors. I could have soldered, but I wanted to keep with all crimps for my install, that is why we got the adapters right?

Pros: Fit car electrical fine

Cons: Did not fit Rockford Fosgate. Also beware of the added speaker wire length. This is not an issue with the adapter, but Ford had the original speakers designed with a side entry plug and the right length wire. When doing after market with this adapter and the terminal facing the rear, the wiring can get caught up in power windows. Pay attention where the extra wire length of these adapters are going.

Fits and works perfect

These fit factory type speakers but speakers such as rockford fosgate punch 1683 it will not fit the negative/ground and you need to buy the female leads and snip this one off. I did order them and unfortunately Crutchfield failed to send!! I had to snip and wire it to speaker to get it going but that is not right and either needs solder or the clip. You can get the 10 pack of female clips from Crutchfield for cheap and trust me order it! All bad reviews online are same problem. The plug and play makes it a snap but these won't fit good speakers with bigger negative terminals so you must buy the female clips.

Pros: Connection to Ford Factory assembly takes 3 seconds, just snap it on

Cons: Terminal is too small as I mentioned on the negative side.

Just what the doctor ordered! No muss, no fuss and the price is definitely right! I've seen complaints that the wires are revered for some applications, that's a much easier fix that most seem to realize, there's no need to rewire, just need a small tool to release the internal connectors on the plug end (opposite from the spade connector/speaker end), once free you can swap their position and you're ready to install.

Pros: Makes an easy job easier

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This product matches up very well to my '08 F150 and made installing the new speakers a breeze. I did run into one issue, and am not sure if it was user induced [me], the adaptor or the factory harness. On one of the speakers, after installing this plug, removing and reinstalling [fitting baffles and other stuff] one of the metal 'prongs' got shoved backward, out of the plastic base. I may have been holding the adaptor at an angle when I forced it. I don't know. It was a simple fix- I plugged the plastic base into place and the used a small flathead screwdriver to push the wire 'pin' forward, back into the base until it bottomed out on the factory wiring harness: problem solved! I taped it off to keep it from wandering out at a later date. I would give the set a 4.6 if I could, but am only able to pick 4 or 5. Due to my one weird issue, it had to be a 4. Full disclosure: it installed/removed/installed these plugs in all 4 doors and I ran into this problem only once, in one of the 4 plastic plugs. So- NOT the normal experience.

Pros: Matches factory loom exactly as required. Makes life easy. Allows return to factory speakers, if I ever give up my truck.

Cons: May run into a small problem with plugs being pushed out back of adaptor plastic plug, but is an easy fix.

The cable works fine, much easier than soldering, my only complaint is the wires pop out of the plastic housing really easily. I called Crutchfield about it, and they recommended using hot glue to fix it which makes sense to me. Considering they gave this to me for free I really can't complain too much, but just keep the glue idea in mind. I also had to tape these against the inside of the door of my Ford Escape to prevent the window from rubbing, since this adds length to the speaker wires.

These little harness adapters helped to make the install of any speaker a breeze. If your vehicle has unique speaker connectors, like in most Fords, this adapter harness will save you some time hooking up your new speakers and also makes it a lot cleaner plug-n-play install.

Pros: Plug-N-Play, fits factory connectors for an easier installation.

Cons: Out of 4 of these adapter harnesses that I used on an install recently, one of two pins on one of the connectors pushed out and would not stay locked into the connector. I feel this may have been a fluke, but thought I needed to mention it.
